1000 FOLLOWERS GIFT, PART I OF III

Hello everyone! **waves** I'm still here and loving on TS2, I just haven't had time to play or create in a long, looooong time. But I've finally gotten a fancy schmancy, new PC and the first thing I did was dive into my game. This three-part followers gift pales in comparison to previous ones due to time constraints, but I didn't want to put off making an offering any longer. So here goes...

THE COACH HOUSE

A Coach House or 'Carriage House' was built to house horse-drawn carriages and their related tack. This one has been converted to a three bedroom, two and a half bathroom tiny residential lot with a little yard for relaxing in the shade.

95 Bard Boulevard, exterior

Soooo usually I play half-rotational, half-legacy. But I decided fuck it, I’ll do full rotational this time. Which is kind of intimidating, considering I’m playing an uberhood, but...

I also decided to change my reshade settings based on neighbhorhoods. For Veronaville, I decided to go with the bright&early setting warm gooey pancakes (it’s listed warm gooey waffles in the post, but it’s warm gooey pancakes in the reshade panel).

There are many families I’ve never played because I just wasn’t that interested in them. I haven’t played much with any of the Veronaville families, but I do have some familiarity with Romeo and Juliette’s households. I played them once or twice as a kid. In my Fox-Landgraab save, I got familiar with Juliette/Consort’s household because Tank Grunt’s son was dating Hermia. But I’ve never played with the rest of the Capp/Monty families, the Summerdream household, etc.

All that to say that I’m playing with Goneril/Albany’s family for the first time this playthrough. And I thought it was weird that Goneril is the eldest daughter of Consort Capp, is a middle-aged fortune sim, but she’s unemployed and has nothing but the starter §20,000. Her LTW is to be a business tycoon, so I used the sim blender to get her a job in the business career and cheat her up to lvl 8. She’s unqualified, but my headcanon is that Consort pulled a few strings for her. After that, I hit the family with a few motherlodes and moved them into one of the “rich” houses in Veronaville, 95 Bard Boulevard. But it was still a little small for how many kids they have. And the yard was...lacking. So I expanded the house and redid the yard.

I left the maze kind of bare because I don’t exactly know what I want to do with it yet. And it was also 2 a.m. and I had work the next day. In a few generations, I’ll probably expand the graveyard to suit the family, and I imagine the rest of the maze will conform to whatever’s happening with the graveyard.

The red was less overwhelming before I changed my reshade settings, wow. I might change the color of the floors so it’s less painful to look at.

Again, so much red. Not sure why the lighting in Goneril and Albany’s room is so dark/dramatic, but oh well. I’ve also got something weird going on with Ariel’s favorite color. ig I rolled pink, then mixed her up with Desdemona in my spreadsheet and recolored all her stuff blue. Now I have to recolor it all back to pink. I’ll probably keep all her stuff blue and pretend it was stuff they kept after Desdemona.

Church & Dragonfly Wedding Venue [Base Game]

This is a WIP build for my base game only save file: Silent Pines. This lot contains a small church, graveyard, and an inn/wedding venue. I've never built something like this before in the style of Silent Pines so I hope I'm doing it justice.

Early 2000s Home 02 - Download Here

Hi again! I'm continuing in Newcrest with another home inspired by the 2000s. I decided to go more vintage looking with the furniture. I imagine much of the house was decorated in the 90s or earlier. This house has 4 bedrooms and is intended for a big family. I had so much fun doing the 3 kids rooms. My fav parts of the house would have to be the kitchen, dining, and back patio areas. I'm going to continue building in Newcrest. I'm not sure if the next house I do will be as intentionally nostalgic but we'll see. For now i'm enjoying that vibe. Capp Manor exterior

I’m kind of lazy and I don’t really like building, so I pulled the remake from my Fox-Landgraab save and dropped it into this one.

Capp Manor graveyards

I put Contessa and Cordelia’s graves in their own graveyard because I’m really not a fan of broken urns. 

For this particular save, I decided to remake the old graveyard. When I placed down the lot and respawned the urns, I realized the graveyard was ridiculously small and left no room for future generations.

I changed some stuff around from my Fox-Landgraab save, so I have a few empty rooms. Mostly, the goal was to add more floor space for party items (like the DJ booth) and pet items.

Aside from the balconies, not much has changed on this floor. I changed Tybalt and Juliet’s rooms to reflect the favorite colors I rolled for them.

Capp Manor, third floor

In my Fox-Landgraab save, Consort had a baby with his new wife. I left the nursery in this save because I had no idea what to do with the extra room. I’m sure Juliet and/or Hermia will make use of the nursery at some point, and I’d rather just leave it as-is than build a new one.

Pretersolaria Institute: CC-Free Uni & Individual Lots

Eventually I want to share the entirety of Rhyolite Valley, but it's a bit hairy with the 47 sims & CC hood deco & the garbage data I let seep in while playing (so I'd have to remake all of that before sharing).

I thought I'd "practice" the process of remaking the hood by starting a little smaller: The uni subhood. Since I only made a handful of sims for it (which are not included... yet) and it works aesthetically without CC hood deco. Sounds simple, right? Weelllll it took about a week of near daily effort to actually do. Makes the prospect of doing the actual hood soooo much more exciting lol /s

Anyway, that's what this is: A new university subhood template that's CLEAN & EMPTY. As a bonus (or if you just don't like the subhood), I've also included individual lot packages for every lot in the subhood to use wherever you want.

The "gimmick" of this hood is that Rhyolite Valley, and by extension Pretersolaria Institute, is entirely self-sufficient & cobbled together by the local residents. Which means there's no indoor plumbing lol.

That also means simply sitting down at a computer to write a term paper isn't as easy as a regular uni. Students have to go to THE BOOKMOBILE to access computers. Same goes for the skill building required for each semester/major. You have to venture out to the relevant community lot to find the means for skill building.

I've included in the uni's photo album & the lot descriptions which skills are available to build on each lot. It'll say "+Cooking" or whatever skill(s) the lot can provide based on the objects it has.

Place the "PRTR" folder in its entirety in the "Program Files > EA GAMES > The Sims 2 University > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate" directory. Or whatever equivalent location you have for a TS2 University folder in the Program Files section.

Mootilda's Subhood Selection Mod is required to see additional universities below the main 3 pre-made ones.

You can then select Pretersolaria Institute in the list of options when creating a new uni subhood in a neighborhood.

• On 2 lots (Big Heart Dude & Wiploc Amphitheatre), I used the Seasons Music career reward The Rock Hammer for speaker deco. I used MoveObjects to delete the guitar but keep the speakers.

It's possible that either A. The guitars will respawn when you move the lot in the hood, or B. Sims will attempt to play the guitar and complain about being blocked (because I purposely blocked them).

If the guitars respawn, open the lot in Buy/Build mode and with MoveObjects On use the sledgehammer tool to remove the guitar.

If sims are complaining about not being able to reach the guitar, well they're not supposed to be able to lol. If hearing them complain is annoying, you can either use this mod that makes them stop yelling when something blocks them and leaves only the thought bubble, or delete the whole object.

• The Wiploc Amphitheatre may also have some glitchy-looking ground that you can see in neighborhood view when the camera moves. This is because I shortened the lot with Lot Adjuster. I don't know how to make it stop doing that, because I've transferred the lot to other hoods, packaged the lot, Lot Cleaner'd it, Lot Compressor'd it, moved it to the Lots & Houses Bin, etc. and it has never stopped looking like that. So again if that annoys you, remove the lot I guess?

• Please let me know if there are any additional problems.

I've never done this before specifically with a uni subhood, so it's very likely I messed up somewhere.

here's a starter apartment build i made for my own gameplay. nothing special, just a box with some decoration slapped on top😅 the roof got irreversibly messed up at some point too, but i thought you guys might be interested anyway!

the lot is playtested both as a café and a rental residential but i highly recommend @down-in-simsland's new lot traits mod for a better "living above a hipster coffee shop" experience!
