Blue (Robin x Reader)
Summary: Robin thinks Vickie looks good in blue, but she doesn’t notice that you’re wearing blue too.
part 2
A/N: I should be working on requests but i heard Blue by Laura Elliot and it inspired me to write this. i hope yall like it! i’ll link the song below if you want to listen as you read!
CW: angst, unrequited love, mentions of alcohol
Tumblr media
The door clicked shut as you and Robin tucked yourselves away in her bedroom. You had just returned from one of Steve’s parties and were considerably tipsy, still warm from the alcohol in your system. Robin insisted that you come to the party, even bribing you with a sleepover afterward, though you’re pretty sure that the only reason she wanted to have a sleepover was so she could gush about her crush, who she ditched you for at the party.
“Did you see Vickie tonight?” Robin mused dreamily as she flopped backward onto her bed, “She looked so pretty in blue. I think that it really brought out her eyes.”
You looked down at your own dress, the same color as Vickie’s, but Robin didn’t seem to notice. She never seemed to notice you, not in the way that you wanted her to, anyway. There was always someone else, it was Tammy Thompson for a while, but now it was Vickie and this crush was even more unbearable than the last one, as it consumed Robin even more. You always listened to her talk about her crushes, and as much as it made your heart sink, you’ve gotten pretty good at it. She was especially talkative with some alcohol in her system, and her topic of conversation was usually Vickie.
She didn’t wait on you to respond before continuing, “She invited me to a party that she and a few other band kids are throwing next weekend,” she sits up and takes both of your hands in hers, “You should come with me. You know, as my wing woman,” She giggled, swinging your joined hands back and forth.
You scoff lightly and shake your head. You weren’t invited and you were sure that Vickie wouldn’t be thrilled if you showed up based on the looks that were thrown your way before she stole Robin away from your group at parties and the daggers she shot you in the hallway as you walked to class with Robin at your side.
“I wasn’t the one that was invited, silly,” You manage a half-hearted smile and break away from her hands to gather your PJs from your overnight bag. “She is totally into you, Rob,” You felt your heart clench at your own words, “You don’t need a wing woman.”
She crossed the room and stood beside you as you shuffled through your bag, “Come on, y/n. Everyone at Hawkins High knows that we’re a package deal,” She laughed lightly, “I think even the administrators are too afraid to put us in different classes. If I’m invited, you’re invited.”
You found your blue pajama shorts and the oversized t-shirt that you packed to sleep in and looked at your best friend, who was standing beside you beaming and practically buzzing with excitement. You sighed, knowing that you’d rather put yourself through pain than ruin Robin’s happiness.
“What time is the party?”
****
The next Saturday, you, Robin, and Steve pulled up to Vickie’s house. Robin had been rambling anxiously about all that could go wrong and asking how she looked every five minutes. You were more nervous than Robin if that were even possible. This would be the first party that you and Robin attended without Steve and if Robin ditched you (as you anticipated she would), this time, you’d be left truly alone.
“Have fun, ladies,” Steve waved as you and Robin exited the car “Call me when you’re ready to go home. I don’t want you walking home or getting in the car with anyone at this party.”
Robin giggled, “Okay, sure mom.”
You stuck your head back in the car window, looking at Steve pleadingly, “Are you sure you can’t come in? Even for a little while.”
He looked at you apologetically, knowingly, and shook his head, “I shouldn’t. I have to work early tomorrow.”
You nodded solemnly before giving him a weak smile and a small wave and joining Robin to walk into the house in front of you. As soon as you walked through the door, you were met with the sight of bodies on bodies, flashing lights, and the smell of alcohol. Robin leads you to the kitchen to fix you a drink and not a minute later, Vickie emerges from the crowd with a solo cup in hand. She looks right past you to Robin and steps between you, taking Robin by the hand and leading her to the living room.
“Hey, uh I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere!” The blonde told you before she is tugged away by Vickie, leaving a half-mixed cocktail on the counter.
You remained in the kitchen for at least an hour, indulging in spiked punch and cocktails as you waited on Robin to return. Another hour later, you stumbled out to the living room, just in time to see Robin and Vickie climb the stairs, their lips connected, and enter what you assumed to be Vickie’s bedroom. You ran back to the kitchen as you fought tears and dialed Steve’s number on the phone that hung on the kitchen wall.
“I’m ready to go home now,” You choked out when Steve answered the phone.
You were then faced with the reality that you were doomed to love Robin from afar.

Pigtails | Robin Buckley x Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist | R.B Masterlist
Words: 2.3k
Summary: Robin was mean to you in elementary school and now there's an opportunity to be friends like you once were, or perhaps possibly more.
✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧
Robin's name felt awful on your tongue. Robin Buckley. The girl who had been a thorn in your side since you were five, the start of elementary school. She infuriated you like no other person in the world could.
During your first interaction, you were a tiny kid wanting to make friends with everyone who you came into contact with, Robin included. And you and a group of six other children had been friends for a while. You enjoyed her company, she also liked doing rough play of wrestling and rolling in the mud, making empires in the sandpit, and sprinting around as fast as you could to try and catch the other in tag. There were a few occasional sleepovers thrown in the mix as well whenever both of your parents could agree on playdate times.
Though at around the age of nine, Robin developed a sudden interest in annoying you in the most pestering ways possible. She enjoyed mocking whatever you said in a high-pitched tone, pushing you around too roughly in games, and sticking her leg out to trip you. You took it to heart and didn't want to put up with her anymore. If the girl didn't like you then she could have just said instead of trying to make your life a living hell.
It was confusing though. She would still send you crooked smiles from across the room in class when she caught your eye, so clearly she didn't hate you. But still, you didn't like feeling humiliated and belittled during recess, so as you both grew and your friendship groups separated into smaller ones, the two of you joined different ones.
Due to the nature of the tiny town of Hawkins, you remained in the same schooling system throughout your whole educational life, and still sometimes ended up in the same classes. You'd mostly learned to just ignore her, especially since you haven't properly talked to her since you were eleven, she just wasn't on your radar anymore. Occasionally you would see her gaze lingering on your form for a second too long, but she would always look away immediately if you looked back at her. It was weird. But you didn't care enough to take much notice.
---
"Can someone please put me out of my misery", you groaned and flopped forward onto your backpack that was sitting on the cafeteria table when looking at your new timetable for senior year. Economics, Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as the first half of the day back to back. That was rough. Your friends just laughed at your pain, not having the same timetable as you it was very amusing to them.
With a small shake of your head, you looked at them with a scowl, before breaking out into a smile and shaking your head more, "You're all assholes and I hope that karma kicks your asses", you huffed out, shouldering your backpack and walking away with a mock grin on your face.
Walking through the wide hallway to your first class of the day, Economics, you worked hard to avoid all of the hustle and bustle of the crowded hall. As a freshman, you were most certainly part of the hustle and bustle, but as a senior, you could not be bothered with all that shit - walking around with a resting bitch face and using your shoulder to bash people out of the way if they flew into you without a care in the world.
Eventually, your room was reached and you walked in, holding in another groan at seeing half of the class lining up across the back of the room. That could only mean one thing, a seating plan. The classroom was set up to be desks for two, and none of your friends were in your Economics class meaning that you would be seated next to someone random.
You waited patiently at the back of the class with your peers, waiting for everyone to turn up so that the teacher could do the register and then get everyone seated. There were a few latecomers, and so it took absolutely forever for the register to be taken as the teacher was very insistent that everyone who was not ill today had to be in the room before seating everyone so that he didn't have to get the chart out again if someone showed up late.
So, fifteen minutes passed of awkward silence with people looking as though they would rather be in Hell than this classroom before the teacher could finally take the register. There was no one really notable other than Robin, but she wasn't really in issue. The two of you hadn't bothered each other in years. Within minutes your name was called to seat at one of the back corner tables. A Cheshire cat grin appeared on your face, that was the absolute jackpot.
Happily seated, you began to unpack your notebook and pens, and then you felt the presence of someone sitting down next to you. You turned your face, getting ready to be polite and say hi, but then you saw it was Robin who was smiling sheepishly at you with a small blush on her cheeks. "Hey", you said rather bluntly whilst writing the date at the top of your notebook. "Hi", she replied with a chipper tone, making you frown slightly whilst writing, your friendship ended rather awkwardly and yet she sounded completely unaffected by said awkwardness.
A tight-lipped smile appeared on your face when you looked at her in response before the teacher called everyone's attention back to the front. The class went ahead with no problems thus far, the both of you just jotting notes down. Until the teacher asked for a small partner discussion of the topic for the rest of the class. Internally, you rolled your eyes. You didn't have a problem with Robin as a person, she seemed perfectly lovely to everyone with some interesting hobbies and a decent sense of humour. It's just that you didn't want her potentially being the same as when you were kids, by making you feel small, even if the chance of that was small, you had both grown up after all.
"So... do you have any thoughts first?", she hesitantly asked, sensing an awkward tension. You shook your head and looked at her, seeing that she was looking at you softly like she always did making you feel slightly bad that you were being so blunt with her. "Okay...", she again spoke hesitantly before voicing a few of her thoughts to try and prompt you to join in with the partnered discussion that you had been asked to do. Though when you still remained ever silent, occasionally nodding along with blank eyes she grimaced slightly internally. "Is there- is there a problem?".
"Huh?", you spoke for the first time in a while, and even then it was barely a word. Robin's lips quirked to the side in thought, "You've barely said a word to me, and you seem a bit- I don't know... annoyed?".
A sigh escaped your lips, only further proving Robin's suspicions about the situation. This wasn't really a topic that you would have liked to get into in class, but it wasn't as though you could dodge the question. "Look... you may think that it's petty for having a grudge from like middle school or whatever- but we were friends and then one day you just started being like, I don't know, mean? I get that it wasn't bullying or anything but you just teased me a lot and it seemed to amuse you so I guess I just don't feel all that comfortable right now...", you explained with a soft tone.
Robin's eyes widened with panic as her cheeks blushed a deep red, "Oh... oh shit. It all came off like I was being mean?". You nodded which only made her kick herself for being so stupid. "Sorry, that really wasn't my intent at all, I'm not good with complicated social stuff".
Your head tilted, "What was complicated, Rob? We were friends and then there just seemed to be a sudden switch".
She winced ever so slightly, clearly nervous about the next few words, but also wanting to clear the air with you. "Okay... you know how parents say when little boys like little girls they pull their pigtails? Which I do not condone that message by the way, but yeah in this case it was kinda... right".
Your eyebrows shot up in surprise. Robin had a little crush on you back when you were kids? It was kinda cute but also... she could have displayed it in a better manner, like picking you daisies on the field, not tripping you into a locker. "Do- do you still like me? Or was it just a middle school playground thing?".
Her head shook far too quickly for a natural response as she blurted out a no, causing a knowing smirk to appear on your face. "Uh huh... sure". Robin again blushed a deep red as her face scrunched up "...Would it bother you if I did?".
It took a moment to think about that, you played with the rings on your fingers to try and activate some brain cells into thinking. "I don't know. It's not really something I've ever thought of. I'm sorry". You felt bad, unrequited love was one of the worst things in the world. When she looked a bit like a kicked puppy at your confession you quickly jumped back in, placing a hand on her shoulder, "But it doesn't mean I can't start thinking about it, right? We haven't spoken properly in a while I feel like I don't know you as you are now, maybe we could I don't know... do like a trial date? If it goes well and we want to do another one it can be classed as the first one, and if not then we could be friends again. Sound okay?".
Robin's eyes lit up at you giving her a chance even after everything, "Yeah, sounds good. Sounds really good". You smiled with a smirk, "Okay, it's a date".
---
The car ride to Scoops Ahoy was rather awkward at first. It was the first time that you had hung out with each other alone outside of school for almost a decade, so conversing with each other was not natural yet. But, it was the same as any other date with people that you don't know, it's always slightly awkward until you find common ground within some small talk to branch off of.
Robin was playing with the rings on her fingers as you drove, clearly anxious that the current silence meant that the whole thing was doomed to be a car crash. This was something that she had been wanting since she was a kid, now it was here she was terrified of it being ripped away as soon as she got it.
When getting out of the car in the carpark, you sent her a reassuring smile. She smiled back as you took your steps into the mall, no one speaking. Admittedly, this probably was the longest you had been without talking on a date before. "So... what kinda hobbies are you into lately?". A cliche piece of small talk but it seemed essential so that you didn't cry from the awkwardness.
Robin seemed pleasantly surprised and gave a shy smile, "I still do music, and I like to ride my bike to different places that are quiet and just... sit. Might sound sad or whatever but-".
"No, no", you interrupted, the corners of your lips twitching up slightly, "That's not sad, It's nice. Serenity, peace. It's needed sometimes". She nodded, again pleasantly surprised, "And what about you?".
"Me? I still adore reading, and collecting tapes because I can never ever sit in silence", you chuckle slightly, Robin mirroring you. Before you knew it you arrived at Scoops and ordered your sundaes. Now that the ice was broken, there was consistent chatter, even though most of it was still small talk. So far, you'd covered the bases of your favourite foods, colours, what movies you like, what jobs you'd like to do, what you'd been up to in your teen years. But then you ventured onto existential topics and discovered that you both liked scaring yourself shitless by thinking about all the unknown.
From there conversation was like child's play. Anything and everything was discussed, and you even got onto planning which countries you wanted to visit and started discussing what you'd do if you went together. Robin mentioned how she had always wanted to go to France, and you both enthusiastically spoke about all of the tourist attractions within Paris that you'd seen in travel guides.
In terms of a date, you thought that it was going very well, considering how you had to be subtle about it because of society being an ass. But there were a few times where you made sure to brush your hand with Robin's and smiled out how flustered she seemed to get. It was nice.
As you shrugged your jacket back onto your shoulders you spotted a hiring poster on the wall and chuckled, "You should apply to work here so you can afford to take me on more dates", you teased. She laughed along with you, but then your head tilted when she seemed to look at the poster again to look at the details. "So, there'll be another date?", she asked when the two of you began heading out.
"You want one?". She nodded eagerly and you smiled gently, "Then yes, there'll be another one". You got into your car and watched as she got into the passenger seat. You were about to turn the ignition key when she grasped your hand and looked at you with sincerity, "Thank you for giving me another chance".
A grin appeared on your lips as you slowly nodded, "You deserved one, you're alright I suppose", you shrugged with a small smirk as she placed a hand on her chest with fake hurt before you both burst out laughing as you pulled out of the parking space, laughing again when you spotted a Scoops Ahoy hiring flyer stuffed into her jacket pocket.

Affection – What do they do to show affection?
Robin loves to tell you every little detail she knows about the things she likes, movies, and books. But lately, she has been reading the French to English dictionary you got her for her birthday.  She has been studying it in her free time at Family Video, and with the time she has had, she has learned fully formed sentences.
One day, she surprises you at lunch with a couple of flowers in her hand and your favorite candy. When she hugs you, she whispers, “Tu es l'amour de ma vie." Your knees buckle as her words tingle against your face, and she leaves a peck on your cheek.
You ask her what it means, and she says it’s your turn to use the book. You smooth the grin off her face with a kiss, asking her to tutor you instead, and she agrees, not knowing you already know what that phrase means.
Beauty - what do they admire about their s/o? what do they think is beautiful about them?
Everything. It’s true that when Robin saw you for the first time, she believed in love at first sight. She got close to you with the time, and thanks to you joining the friend group, she was able to talk to you and ask you on a date. On one of those dates, Robin always mentioned how beautiful you are, but she still has so much to tell you.
She loves how smart you are. She loves how kind and sweet you are. She loves your shiny eyes, your adorable cheeks, and your soft lips. Robin is also obsessed with your body, she worships you every day, and she motivates you when you want to get out of your comfort zone and try a different outfit. She loves the way her jewelry looks on you when you try on one of her necklaces and decide it looks so much better on you.
Cuddles - How do they like to hug their s/o? Can include a visual.
Robin loves to hug you behind your back when you are entertained baking some of her favorite cookies.
She also loves to be the little spoon whenever you sleep together, she loves it when you press your chest against her back and the way your arm wraps her in a tight hug. As the night passes, you are completely tangled with her, your leg is hugging her too, and you cling to her as you have sweet dreams and breathe against her neck.
Discrete - What's their opinion on PDA?
Going out with Robin is always fun, she is always by your side, and you love it. The only thing that bothers you is that you have to know where you can show your affection in public. You're too tired of people’s glances and whisperings.
But when you are in a safe place, she can’t stop. Robin always has an arm around your shoulders or your waist. She always leaves a peck on your cheek, on your forehead, and on your nose, and when she kisses you, she makes sure to press your chest against her to feel you as close as possible. She loves to feel your warmth.
Everything - You are my _____. (Ex. World, Life, etc.)
Robin always says: “You are my princess, you are my world, you are my love,” and when you hear those words fall from her lips, it always feels like the first time. Your heart is thumping against your chest, and you are running towards her to pamper her face with thousands of little kisses.
Family - Do they want a family?
She has seen you taking good care of the kids, especially Erica and Holly, since they’ve always wanted to play with you or show you something new they got. She knows they get so excited to see you because being with you is fun, and you don’t fear the kids when they are being mischievous. She is scared of how good she will be as a mom, but she knows that by your side, anything will be alright.
Gifts - What types of gifts do they give their s/o?
Mostly books, because you love them, but she loves giving you flowers because you get so happy when you see them. She also buys food for you, ice cream, and milkshakes when you go out. Robin isn’t good with gifs, she gets especially anxious about picking gifts. She would rather take you out on a nice date, even when she ends up being the passenger princess.
Hands - Do they like holding hands? Can include a visual.
She loves it. When you walk around the lake, looking for a quiet break from all the noise of the town, she takes your hand. She is a big fan of interlocking her fingers with yours to keep you close.
When you are around town, at the mall, or at school, she would rather walk with you holding her arm. This way, you are closer and don’t call for too much attention.
Injury - What do they do if their s/o gets hurt?
Funny band-aids, she is always looking for the ones that have little drawings, and they work so well. Whether you scraped your knee or cut yourself with a paper sheet, she places the band aid and kisses the part where you got hurt. She loves being so cheesy.
Jealousy -  Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?
Robin used to get jealous of everyone. She was always jealous of people getting to talk to you because she didn’t know how to get close to you. She used to get so nervous. Now, she isn’t jealous at all because she knows your love for her is as big as her love for you.
Kisses - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?
YES! The first kiss is funny, she didn’t plan on you initiating the kiss. You were at Steve’s house, hanging out with your friends, and you went inside to get more beer. Steve pushes Robin and tells her to join you. She asks if she can try some of your chapstick. You ask her if she wants to try, and she nods. You end up taking her face between your hands and kissing her, she gets a sweet taste of your chapstick and you.
Love - When did they know that they loved their s/o?
One day she fell sick. She was in bed with a runny nose and a terrible headache. She called to let you know she wasn’t going to school, and you ended up skipping too, climbing your way to her bedroom to give her some warm soup and freshly baked cookies. You took care of her the way no one else had, and for that, she was so grateful. At the end of the day, she was feeling better, and she knew it was all because of you.
Memory - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?
Robin makes a paper ring with a pink paper sheet. She spent at least 20 minutes perfecting the paper ring, and when she got you on the spot for your date, you saw her dropping on one knee and smiling. She asks for your hand, you say yes, and she places the paper ring on your finger. “I’ll get the real one, I promise,” but you don’t need it, this one is already perfect.
Nicknames - What do they call their s/o?
Robin loves nicknames, she always calls you princess because you are her princess. She calls you sweetheart, baby. But when she sees you baking for her or any of your friends, she calls you sugar.
Orange - What color reminds them of their s/o?
Your favorite color—since Robin knew about it, she knew her mind would catch on pretty quickly. Every time she sees a coat, a toy, a candy, or an umbrella of your favorite color, she thinks of you. It's even more special when she finds it in tiny details around her day, reminding her of you when she misses you.
Proposal - How did they propose?
As mentioned earlier, she invites you to a cute spot. It’s pretty, and the view is the best thing. You thought it was one of many other dates, but this was special—her paper ring in hand, symbolizing her heart and your whole future ahead.
Quirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.
You love Robin’s rambling, even more so when she gets creative and decides to tell you a story when you can’t fall asleep. Her soothing voice helps you fall asleep in her arms, take a nap after a long day, or sleep after a nightmare.
Romance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?
You are both romantic, but Robin knows you love cliché things. She writes notes with tiny poems on them and puts them in your locker. When you show them to her, she always says, “You have a secret admirer,” but you recognize her handwriting, and every note is even more cheesy than the last one.
Supportive - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?
When the imposter syndrome takes control of your life, she is there to cheer you up. She helps you study, and she takes care of things like washing the dishes or making your bed when she knows you are stressed about another thing. She knows you would do the same for her, she is so sure of it.
Time - What are their future plans?
Robin wants to travel the world with you by her side. First, she wants to go to New York, and then she wants to take you to Paris, Italy. She would love to have a lot of adventures by your side. Make a book for your memories so when you have kids, you can show it to them.
Understanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?
There will be times when you fight, or have arguments because you disagree on some things. You're sure that Robin is always going to be open to having a conversation and fixing whatever’s wrong.
Value - How important is the relationship to them? What is it worth in comparison to other things in their life?
You are her favorite person. She is so grateful for you, you made her life so much better. Robin knows you feel the same, that’s why you’ve both made sacrifices for one another.
Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.
I love thinking of Robin as the little spoon, but she is a switch, for sure. When she is the big spoon, she loves pampering you with kisses. She kisses your cheek, your neck, and your shoulder and tickles you to bother you.
Xylophone - What song describes their relationship with their s/o?
“Every Breath You Take” by The Police. She sang to you one time while drunk, and there was an open karaoke at The Hideout. Everyone was cheering for her, and she was looking at you.
Yearning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?
She always has a piece of you. A scarf, a cardigan that smells like you, or listening to the mixtape you made for her birthday. She misses you a lot when you aren’t there, but she looks forward to hugging you again and not letting you go for a while.
Zebra - Do they want a pet? What kind?
She always suggested having a dog, a cat, or a little hamster with a silly name. She is aware of her clumsiness, but sometimes she gets distracted easily, so you decide to test her by giving her a stuffed bunny. She has to have it all day, and if she has it in perfect condition by the end of the month, you promised her you could adopt a pet.

it’s so sweet, knowing that you love me ❀ robin buckley
Tumblr media
❀ [“knowing that i love you, and running my fingers through your hair it's so sweet”]
warnings: fluff, kinda short - i’m sorry!
❀ robin buckley x fem!reader (she/her)
after all of this upside down thing happened again, y’all were exhausted, devastated. you needed a rest.
“y/n, i promise we will cuddle and all, but we have to at least shower. please.” robin tried to explain as both of you were keeping yourselves awake.
“mhm.” you weren’t even able to let out a proper answer even when you really tried. your eyelids felt heavy, your body felt like it could fall any moment. your injuries weren’t even hurting you anymore, your whole body wasn’t even capable of feeling something right now.
you felt selfish. robin was injured too and you weren’t even able to look at her without having your eyes crossed, completely unfocused.
“it’s not that bad, i promise. but let me take care of you.” she said so delicately like you were a tiny little flower that would fell apart.
robin could tell you didn’t know how badly you were bruised. she didn’t want to tell you, there was plenty of time in the morning.
you two were laying in your bed now, your head on robin’s chest as you were listening to her heartbeat. gentle music was playing in the background.
your smile brightened up the room after her fingers carefully took a piece of your hair, tucking it behind your ear.
“close your eyes, darling.” she whispered like a prayer, memorising your small facial expressions. for a moment you could faintly hear her heart beating faster as your soft almost unnoticeable smile glazed over your features.
a content sigh was heard as you were slowly falling asleep. you could feel her slowly relaxing as her muscles around you were getting weaker and weaker, but her hand in your hair was still sofly scratching your scalp.
“i love you, y/n. you know it, right?” she said in this weird state, feeling like you’re high but you are just half asleep and half awake.
you tried to say something, but your words weren't quite understandable. but that didn’t matter. she knew.

“On the contrary, I’m giving you a little help here. You’ll be able to confess your feelings.” he replies, setting the cups on the table in front of him.
“At a party full of the populars from your year and mine ? Surrounded by drunk people ? I don’t think so ! There are so many factors that make me believe it is a lost cause. Do you need me to remind you of all the scenarios ?”
“No, you haven’t stopped telling me all about it since I told you I had invited Y/N tonight. I got it.” Steve refuses before going to the kitchen to get the alcohol.
“It doesn’t look like it.” she keeps saying whilst following him, all agitated, “Besides, I’m still not sure if she’s attracted to me.”
“Do I need to remind you last week you asked me if it was totally platonic for her to call you, like, every night ? I’m saying it again, it is not platonic.”
“Maybe she does this with Chrissy too ? What do we know ? It’s her best friend, it’d be rational.”
“Sometimes you stay on the phone 'till midnight, trust me, she doesn’t have the time to do the same with Chrissy.”
“Ok, let’s say you’re right and that, by some sort of miracles, she is attracted to me,” Robin starts, making Steve sigh, “what if she ends up freaking out along the way and then we lose everything we’ve been building the past seven months ? And what if the moment I say ‘I love you’, she doesn’t say it back and that ruins everything as well ? Did you think about that ?”
“You should tell her you like her before thinking about the moment you’ll tell her ‘I love you’.”
“I prefer to think about every scenario before jumping in with both feet.”
“The problem is, by overthinking, you’re gonna destroy the relationship yourself.” Steve retort, looking his best friend in the eyes. “You should still test the water tonight and if she’s receptive then good for you, if she isn’t, just say you’ve been drinking too much and you didn’t express yourself correctly. It’ll go smoothly like this, trust me.”
“Trust you ? You, Steve Harrington, who go from one date to the other without it going any further ? I don’t think-”
“Trust me on that one.” he cuts her off, exasperated. “I’m telling you, the feelings you have for Y/N are reciprocated. Stop stressing about it.”
Steve gives Robin a reassuring look. She finally lets go of a sigh, like to signal she accepts her fate. Robin isn’t fully convinced by Steve’s words but they still help her to reduce her stress. A bit. Robin finishes helping Steve to prepare the party, letting her anxiety about you in the back of her mind.
When the party starts, Robin enjoys herself with the other guests. Tired to dance after five songs, she goes into a corner of the living-room, a drink in hand. She tries to catch her breath when John from her Algebra class comes to her and starts talking with her. Not knowing what he wants, Robin answers him. As the conversation goes by, she becomes more and more uncomfortable as she sees John slowly getting closer to her. She’s searching for an excuse to leave the room when she hears your voice calling her name.
“I’ve been looking for you !” you say, putting your hand on Robin’s forearm. “I need your help, can you come with me ? Sorry John, but it’s a girl emergency.” you specify with an emphatic look.
“Oh, yeah, no problem.” he stutters, blushing, “I need to go to… I mean, Bye, Robin.”
“You looked like you needed some help.” you slowly chuckle when you’re away from John.
“Thank God, Y/N. I didn’t know how to get out of this situation. I like you !” Robin says without thinking and making you smile.
“You like me ?”
Hearing your question, Robin’s eyes go wide as she panics. She pretends to cough and search for a solution to resolve the situation.
“Yeah, like a friend, I mean, you know. Sorry I think I’ve been drinking too much. Did you just arrive ? Want to drink something ?” she changes the subject, avoiding your gaze.
“Yes, thanks.” you accept and Robin starts walking in front of you, but you hold her back. “Robin, I like you, too.”
Upon hearing your sentence, Robin stays put in place for a second, not knowing how to act. You end up taking her hand and guiding her to the table with the drinks to pour you a glass while Robin gets a grip on herself.
During the whole party, you stay together, enjoying each other’s company. At some point, you’re really close and yet none of you know if you should understand something out of this situation. From afar, Steve and Chrissy look at you both, completely desperate. They see none of you dares to make the first move whilst you’re both waiting for that. If there weren't that many people, they would’ve forced you to get closer to make an end to your lack of action once and for all. That night, they promised to themselves to do something to help you both, you deserve your cute little romance.

Determined to help Robin, Steve decides to take advantage of a day where he has to get Dustin from school to talk with your best friend. He waits, leaning against his car, until he sees Chrissy walking to her vehicle. He takes a deep breath and trots towards her.
“Chrissy, hi !”
“Oh, hey.” Chrissy answers, stopping in her tracks. “You’re here for Dustin ?”
“Yeah. Actually, I also wanted to talk to you about something. I wanted to know if Y/N had a crush on anybody at the moment ?”
“Why do you want to know that ?” she questions with a questioning look.
“Because I…,” Steve stutters, looking for an excuse, “Actually, I wanted to ask her out and I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t make a fool of myself.”
“Oh.” Chrissy exclaims, taken aback, “Well, you did the good thing by asking me because Y/N has a crush on someone else so it’s not going  to work.”
“Don’t worry about it, at least I tried. Do I know the guy ?”
Chrissy notices Steve tries to play it cool but sees behind his question there's something else. She quickly guesses, just like her, Steve has had enough of seeing you and Robin beat around the bush without doing anything.
“Yeah, you know them very well but I won’t give you their name or I’d be a terrible best friend.”
“I get it. Do you know if she’s gonna try to make the first move with them ?”
“Not sure. She’s afraid it’s unrequited even if I’m sure it isn’t. Since your party I've been trying to give her enough courage to have her confess her feelings.” she admits and Steve nods.
“I get your frustration. Robin is also attracted to someone and she’d rather imagine all the worst case scenarios instead of asking them on a date. If the person she’s attracted to doesn’t make the first move, I think she’s going to wait for a long time or miss her chance.” he informs with an insistent look.
“I hope it won’t be the case. I need to go.” she states before leaving without letting him respond.
Steve waves at Chrissy whilst she fastly gets in her car. Chrissy doesn’t waste a second and drives to your home with a big smile on her face. As for you, you’re at your desk, focused on your History homework when someone opens your bedroom’s door loudly. A hand on your chest, you turn around and see Chrissy.
“You want me to have a heart attack or what ?”
“Steve asked me if you had a crush on him !” Chrissy exclaims as if it was breaking news.
“And it's good news because…?”
“I told him you’re attracted to someone else.”
“Chrissy !” you retort with your eyes wide open.
“I didn’t mention Robin, promise.” your best friend quickly specifies, making you sigh of relief. “I just said you have someone else in mind and you don’t know how to confess your feelings.”
“Still don’t know how this is good news.”
“It is good news because he talked to me about Robin ! He told me she’s also attracted to someone but doesn’t know how to make the first move. He totally implied Robin has a crush on you. You should’ve seen his face. You were waiting for your sign, there it is ! Go to Robin and ask her out on a date now.” Chrissy orders pointing at your bedroom’s door.
“No.” you contradict, panicked, “Your conversation with Steve doesn’t prove anything. Maybe you interpreted it wrong.”
“I swear I didn’t ! Besides, at the party, Robin did say to you ‘I like you’, didn’t she ?”
“Like a friend, yes. Don’t forget that part.”
“Maybe she said it ‘cause she panicked ?” Chrissy suggests and you shake your head.
“She still said it quickly while I had a big smile on my face.”
“It’s unbelievable to nitpick like that !” she mumbles. “Y/N, during the party, I watched you and Robin and she’s totally smitten by you. And even though Steve didn’t say it, I’m sure he saw the same thing as me so get up from your chair and let’s go to Family Video !” Chrissy commands, pulling you by the arm.
With a sigh of exasperation, you follow Chrissy who’s dragging you to her car. The whole ride, you try to make her change her mind however she stands her ground and parks in front of Family Video. You sink a bit more in the passenger seat but Chrissy opens the passenger door from her seat.
“Y/N, I know you’re worried about it but believe me, Robin has feelings for you. I wouldn’t be making you do that if I wasn't sure.” Chrissy affirms with her soft voice.
“But I had planned everything !” you complain, “I had planned to wait a bit more just to be sure she was attracted to me and some weeks after that, I would have asked her out. If I do it now, everything will be ruined ! It’s too early !”
“By waiting too much, you risk ruining it before it begins. You’ve been waiting for seven months, don’t you think it’s long enough ?”
You look at your best friend before sighing in frustration because, deep down, you know she isn’t fully wrong.
“You’re right but what if-”
“Stop with the ‘what if’s and go get your girl !” she cuts you off.
Chrissy shoves you, forcing you out of the car. You close the door and start walking toward the entrance of the store. You run your clammy hands over your jeans when a forty years old woman gets in front of you and opens the door. She holds it for you and you thank her before entering as well. Stressed, you run to hide in one of the aisles, hoping Robin nor Steve have seen you. The woman gives back her tape to Steve before leaving without renting a new movie. When you hear the door close again, you breathe slowly, hoping to get a grip on yourself. You try to give yourself some encouragement to get out of your hiding spot and go talk to Robin when you hear her voice. You can’t make out what she’s saying but you can guess she’s panicked because she’s speaking very fast to Steve. You get closer to them while being silent and you finally can understand what she’s saying.
“Steve, I’m telling you it means nothing.” Robin objects.
“She said she likes you, too, right ? And contrary to you who lost your nerve, she didn’t specify ‘like a friend’.” he retorts.
You get a bit closer and you can finally see Robin who has her back on you whilst Steve is in front of her. Robin runs a hand over her face before responding.
“Maybe for her, her ‘I like you’ was hiding a ‘like a friend’ as well like I had said it just before ? Steve, I’m not 100% sure.”
“With what Chrissy implied, you can’t have any more doubts. Y/N hasn’t said anything yet because of the same reasons as you, she’s nervous about it so go talk to her today or do it on the phone tonight if you’re too scared to do it face to face.”
“You’re right, I’m gonna go to her and suddenly say ‘Actually, I have feelings for you, romantic feelings, wanna go out with me ?’ Yeah, sure, it’ll work.” Robin exclaims sarcastically.
“You have feelings for me ?” you question, getting out of your hiding spot.
“Please, don’t tell me Y/N is behind me.” Robin whispers.
“Good luck, Robin.” Steve smiles before walking away.
“You have feelings for me ?” you repeat and Robin turns red.
“What ? No, it’s not that. You misunderstood me. I was talking about someone else-”
“You’re a terrible liar.” you interrupt her, laughing slowly, “Robin, I have feelings for you too.”
“You do ?” she asks, shocked.
“Yeah.” you confirm, avoiding her eyes for a second, “I didn’t know how to tell you, I was imagining the worst and therefore I was always finding an excuse to stay silent. It seems like I could have said something for a long time.”
“Wait, you really have feelings, romantic feelings, for me ?” she verifies.
“What wasn’t clear with what I just said ?” you retort, starting to slowly get nervous again.
“It’s just.... I can’t believe it.”
“If I asked you out on a date, would it help you believe it ?” you enquire with a smile.
“What ? Yeah, totally !” Robin accepts with eagerness.
“Great. I’ll give you the details when we call each other tonight ?”
Still confused, Robin simply nods to accept. Happy, you take one step and kiss her left cheek. When you back up, Robin blushes again. You smile at her reaction besides being glad to finally have a date with Robin, after months of being hopeful and hopeless. A few seconds later, you walk away from her and wave at her one last time whilst Robin looks at you lovingly. When you go back to Chrissy in her car, you see her raising her thumb up in the direction of Family Video and you see Steve doing the same when Robin comes to him, with a huge smile on her face.

[Christmas Sleepover]
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Robin smiles softly as she places a candy cane in each cup of hot cocoa and picks up both mugs, carrying them out to the living room where her girlfriend of 5 years is sitting on the couch, curled up with a cozy blanket to escape the chill of winter. "Am I allowed to slip under there with you or are you gonna make me go get my own?" She asks her jokingly.
(Y/N) huffs playfully and lifts up the blanket on one side, gesturing for Robin to get under it. "As long as you hurry up, it's freezing." She tells her.
Robin laughs softly and sits on the couch, moving close to (Y/N) and carefully holding the hot chocolates up so that they won't spill or get caught under the blanket. "You just have to wait for the fire to heat up the room, love, you'll be all warmed up soon." Robin tells her.
(Y/N) lets the blanket fall back down on Robin's lap and just stays silent, snuggling up into her side and laying her head on her shoulder, making a small happy noise as she does so. Robin holds out the mug of hot chocolate closest to (Y/N) and offers it to her, the other woman taking it and holding it in both hands happily, letting it help warm her up. "Thank you, sweetheart." She says softly.
"I was happy to make them." Robin tells her, taking a sip of her hot chocolate and then laying her head against (Y/N)'s gently, placing her arm with her free hand around (Y/N)'s shoulders. They stay like that for a few minutes, everything completely silent except for the rustling of the blanket, the crackling of the fire, the small clink of rings on glass, and the faint tip tip of snow falling outside.
After awhile, Robin speaks up again. "Did you enjoy your day today, ladybug?" She asks her softly, bringing her hand up and running a hand through (Y/N)'s hair gently.
(Y/N) leans into her touch and sighs softly. "Yeah, I did, actually. Thank you. For making today a good day." She says sincerely, looking up at Robin. And she means it. Robin knows why today needed to be a good day and she did her very best to make it happen, She'd wanted it to be the best day possible and she succeeded. For that, (Y/N) is so grateful, more than Robin will ever know, even if she has an idea.
"You don't need to thank me, (Y/N/N), I wanted to help you have fun today. I know it's not exactly your favorite holiday, but I'm glad that you're always willing to celebrate it with me." Robin tells her honestly.
(Y/N) laughs softly. "It's not like I'm a scrooge or anything, you know I'm okay with Christmas, I just don't really love it, is all." She says.
Robin chuckles as well. "Yeah, I know, but still. You know we don't ever have to celebrate it if you don't want to, it wouldn't be the end of the world. Not for me at least." Robin jokes, rolling her eyes at some other thought.
(Y/N) snorts and nods. "Yeah, I know. And I thank you for that, I really appreciate it. I just..." She sighs and stays silent for a moment before she sits up, leaning forward and placing her hot chocolate on the coffee table before grabbing the photo album that she had placed there earlier. She leans back against the couch and Robin again and opens up the album, flipping to the page she spends the most time on during this time of year. "I just wish they were still here." She whispers softly. She looks longingly at the pictures of her passed loved ones.
Robin tucks (Y/N) into her side again and looks at the photos that her girlfriend holds so dear, wishing she could bring back the ones her love misses so much. "I know you do, love. And I wish you had them here with you. If there was a way I could make it happen, I would. In a heartbeat." She tells her earnestly.
"I know you would, Rob. Thank you." (Y/N) tucks her legs up under her and leans all the way against Robin. "Thank you for doing everything you can to help me all the time. I always feel like I'm too much and you're just gonna get up and leave one day after realizing I'm not worth the effort." (Y/N) tells her, avoiding her girlfriend's eyes.
Robin sits up and sets her hot chocolate down before reaching for (Y/N)'s chin, tilting her face up to look at her. Robin looked right into her eyes as she spoke. "I told you this all the time as your friend and I'm going to keep telling you this all the time as your girlfriend. Now listen carefully, okay?" Robin said sternly but affectionately. When (Y/N) nodded, she continued. "You are enough. You are worth it. You are not a burden. You are not too much. You're all I want and more and I never want you to think you're anything less to me. I can't stand just the thought of ever leaving you. There's no one better out there for me. There's no one better than you. You're it for me, you're the one I want, and nothing will ever change that. You hear me?"
As she finished speaking, she saw (Y/N)'s lip wobbling as she slowly nodded and she quickly gathered her girlfriend into her arms, holding her close as (Y/N) buried her face in Robin's neck. "I love you so much." (Y/N) mumbled quietly, just barely loud enough for Robin to hear.
"I love you just as much, ladybug." She says back, rubbing her back softly. They had another long moment of silence before (Y/N) spoke up again in that same quiet, mumbled tone and Robin wasn't sure if she heard her correctly. "I'm sorry. what was that?" She asked shakily.
"I said, maybe you can tell me all of that as my wife, too." (Y/N) says, pulling away to look at Robin, her lips pressed together as if she was holding in laughter.
Robin blinks, frozen. After a moment of just staring at (Y/N) with wide eyes, she finally attempts to speak up. "I- I mean- You- I-if- If you- Does that- Does that mean- I mean- I-I-" She stutters out before cutting herself off and pouting at her lack of ability to speak correctly in that moment.
(Y/N) laughs softly and wraps her arms around Robin's neck, smiling. "Yes, I want to be your wife. As long as you want to be mine. And yes, I'm asking you to marry me right now." She tells her, not a single hint of joking in her tone, only amusement at Robin's flustered and surprised state.
"I-I mean- Y-yes!! Yes!!" Robin exclaimed, finally getting out the right words, leaning forward and kissing her now fiance full on the mouth before pulling back and kissing all over her face. (Y/N) giggled and pressed her forehead to Robin's once Robin had stopped kissing her face. And for the rest of the day, it was just the two of them, sharing the rest of a wonderful christmas together and celebrating their love for each other, more than happy about the new phase of their relationship ahead of them.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A/N: How was it?? I hope it was awesome!! Please let me know what you think!!!! Hope you have an awesome day/night!!!! 💜💜💜

part one // part two
Tumblr media
^^^^ she's so cute i can’t
you two rarely fight, mainly because robin gets really nervous that you’ll break up with her over ever small fight
so every time you two do have one, robin is ready to talk it through
but sometimes you need time to process and think things over so you don’t say the wrong thing or say something you’ll regret
and there are always cuddles afterward
you NEVER actually call her by her name, so when you do address her as ‘robin’ she knows you’re upset
“robin”
“shit, what did i do? why are you using my real name?”
sometimes you call her that just to mess with her and she always gets you back for it
dates where steve is third wheeling
and then so many double dates with steve and eddie
you and robin spend the entire time making fun of them for how in love with each other they are :)
it’s fun, especially since neither of you have seen steve like this
like ever
you know that steve means a lot to robin so you always make sure they are still able to have their best friend time alone
but robin will never admit that to steve’s face, but lets be real, everyone knows that they are the best friend duo
robin has a big thing for random facts
and she’ll randomly pull one out whenever she’s nervous
also lots of hand holding and playing with you fingers when she’s nervous
thrift shopping together
robin knows which thrift stores are the best and which ones to avoid so you always find something good
max, mike, and lucas have all called you and robin ‘mom’ at one point or another so now you two are the younger kids’ mothers, along with steve
in fact, max is almost always asking to hang out with you guys
robin loves that the kids love her
but she doesn’t want kids of her own
it’s not really hard to get on robin’s nerves, all you have to do is purposefully interrupt her when she’s talking and she’s immediately annoyed
you run away from the spiders, robin captures them and sets them free outside
she’s definitely a bug girl
the only bug she doesn’t like are bees, especially wasps
she’ll squeal and run away from them, claiming she’s allergic to them (she’s not allergic)
one time you and robin went to the zoo and she spent a good 45 minutes talking to one of the tarantulas
speaking of talking to things; she talks about you to the moon so much
“-and it’s crazy, i’ve been trying to find a girl just like her my whole life and now that i have her, i can’t believe it. she’s literally everything i’ve ever wanted and she makes me so happy, like so happy. i didn’t think i’d ever be this happy being with someone and i just still can’t believe it”
you tease her a lot about it, but she doesn’t stop because she’s so proud of having you as her girlfriend
you two are avid milf enthusiasts
karen wheeler being your favorite milf <3

Vanilla
Robin Buckley x female!reader
Had to write a small blurb for my best girl for Pride 💕
Contents: fear of homophobia (brief), no use of y/n. This is just pure fluff really
Robin smiled as you laughed at the joke she had said. She was worried you would think it was stupid or not funny or that you wouldn't get it and then she'd have to explain it snd then-
Her anxiety made her overthink often. Especially when it came to you. Robin didn't want to seem like a loser to you, like she has at school. Or just a band geek. You were so smart in her eyes, even if you claimed you weren't. She wanted to impress you. While she loved learning languages, it released a new fervor in her when you had told her it was "so cool" and smiled at her. You were learning sign language from her, something Steve and her had started learning after he had started to go deaf. Robin loved teaching you and having an excuse to touch your hands, molding them into the correct shape.
"Robs? Where'd ya go?" Your voice breaks her out of her thoughts. She turns her head on her pillow to look at you. Laying on your side, hair unkempt from your usual style. The smile on your lips. Robin turned onto her side, facing you. A piece of hair fell into her eyes, blocking her view of you. She went to move it and-
You push the hair behind her ear, hand trailing lightly down her jaw before retreating back towards the middle of the bed. The scent of vanilla from your wrist filled her nostrils. She hated that smell, only because of how it made her think of you. The thought of how sweet you smelled...how sweet you must taste. Her face flushing making you giggle slightly. "You're as red as a strawberry, Robs."
Robin opened her mouth but no sound came out. Your brows wrinkle as you take her in. Usually, Robin would be rambling by now. You loved listening to her talk, oblivious to the fact she was rambling to distract herself from thoughts of you.
But not this time. This time, Robin couldn't help but think of you. How much she wanted to hold you close. How much she wanted to kiss you. How she would gladly show you off if it wasn't small-town Indiana in the 80s. Robin wasn't even sure how you would react. She would rather suffer in silence being in love with you then have you walk away from being her friend.
"Robs?"
Robin smiled softly at you, trying to shake the forlorn feeling that had descended on her. She gently rests her hand on top of yours. "Do you ever think...of things you know you can't have?" She asks quietly. "What do you mean?" Robin looks up into your eyes. Your eyes conveying curiosity, but also warmth and safety. She clears her throat,"Like...someone you can't have?" You blink at her and hum," like a celebrity or someone famous?" "I mean yeah but like someone...closer? Someone you want to be around all the time. Who's beautiful."
You frown slightly," oh. You have a crush on someone?" Robin feels the warmth in her cheeks rising again, knowing she's gone red. "Who do you like?" You ask quietly. Robin bites her lip and you lightly kick her," Why can't you have him?" "Because it isnt a him...its...you." Your eyes widen in shock and you pull back.
Robin's stomach sinks and she clenches her eyes shut. Your hand moves out from under hers. She can feel her eyes start to water. She shouldn't have said anything, she should have stayed quiet.
Robin feels her hand get flipped over before a palm touches her. Fingers intertwine. "You like me too?"
Robin's eyes snap open and she gasps. The hopeful look on your face makes her heart pick up speed. "Yes! You like me too?" A laugh escapes her lungs as she squeezes your hand lightly. Your smile spreads across your face as you squeeze her hand back," Yes!" "Holy shit!"
You both laugh and smile at each other before she shuffles closer to you. Her eyes dart to your lips. Your hand tentatively returns to her jaw, thumb grazing her cheekbone. Robin thinks her heart is going to jump out of her chest. The butterflies that had been fluttering their wings in her stomach are now flying around wildly. Robin leans in, inhaling slightly.
The scent of vanilla floods her senses. The feeling of lips touching hers. A quick soft kiss, leaving her yearning for more. A gasp that escapes you as she kisses you firmer. Mouths moving together. Tongues darting out. Hands still intertwined between the two of you. The feeling of your hand on her jaw moving back into her hair, pulling her closer. Robin's free hand grasping your hip, pulling you closer. The unmistakable sound of lips smacking, gasps, and moans fills her ears. When you two part, you both are breathless.
She isnt sure how long you two had kissed, a few minutes or a few hours could have passed. But this moment in time is one she will never forget. You, smiling sweetly with swollen lips. Hands still intertwined. Giggling. Warmth spread within Robin's stomach. The scent of vanilla enveloping you.. She loved the scent of vanilla. The scent of home.

for fanfic writers and readers
as a black girl who loves a lot of different movies and shows, fanfic allows me to read stories that put me in the middle of my favorite things. however, fanfic often (unintentionally) excludes girls who look like me.
i am so sick and tired of reading a fanfiction and having to rewrite it in my brain because a character description immediately implies that the reader is white. if you don't know what i mean, here are some examples.
"your skin turned pink" or "you blushed": black girls and women with darker skin tones CANNOT blush. our skin does not just turn pink
"pulled your hair into a messy bun": my 4a hair cannot be pulled into a messy bun at random. i may be able to do a ponytail if i have braids in, and i might be able to tie it up if I have an old twist-out, but a "messy bun" is often not possible.
"he ran his hands through your hair": yeah...unless my hair is in a silk press (and an OLD silk press), that's not happening
there are a plethora of other examples that would make this post insanely long, so let me get to the point. there are very easy ways to make fanfic a bit more inclusive; all you have to do is tweak a few character descriptions. OR, put in your pairing or warnings that the reader is implied to be white.
and finally: please, please stop tagging your DARK fanfictions "xblack!reader." i am tired of searching for fluff under the black reader tag and finding non-con, dark themes, etc., ESPECIALLY when the fic ends up being for a white reader💀.
the goal of my page is to create a safe space for black girls who love reading fanfiction. i am only one person, so if you'd like to help, here are some ways to do that!
send me fics (preferably marvel and stranger things to start) that are with a black reader
comment some other things in fanfics that imply that the reader is white or that make the fic a little less accessible

“Eddie!”
The muffled screech jolted Eddie from his mundane dusting, the feathered duster falling with a heavy thud onto the dark carpet, dust flying in a cloud at his feet. “Son of a bitch,” Eddie huffed, chains of his belt rattling when he bent, snatching the duster off the rug.
“Eddie! Can you not hear me?” The piercing scream echoed through the hallway, echoing off the dark, wallpapered walls. Eddie knew he needed to hurry, that the banging on the coffin’s lid would come next, your fury following for the rest of the day.
“I’m coming, Mistress!” Eddie’s teeth gritted, sliding down the dim, candlelit halls. How this place had managed to not burn down yet, Eddie wasn’t sure. The three of you were careless enough with the candles, always leaving them burning without a care. He supposed it was his job.
“Eddie! Where the fuck is he?” Your muffled tone came from the coffin, black and dramatic in the middle of the room.
“I’m here, I’m here.” Eddie huffed, pushing his bangs back out of his eyes. He needed a haircut, desperately, but with his new career, he supposed that wouldn’t happen anytime soon.
“Finally,” You growled. Eddie was met with your glowing amber eyes narrowing in predatory rage when he lifted the coffin’s heavy lid. “Do you know how long I’ve been waiting?” You snapped.
“I’m sorry.” Eddie nodded, swallowing back a snapping comment. “I was dusting down the hall, and I lost track of-”
“-Nevermind.” You snapped, rising quickly into a standing position. “Help me down. I have much to do today.”
“Yes, Mistress.” Eddie stood to the side, offering his hand for you to take as you climbed down. He always wondered why you insisted on being helped out, as if you couldn’t fly out, snap your fingers and be wherever you wanted to be. It was symbolic, he decided, a way to ensure that he knew his place.
Your hand slid into his. His skin tickled when you brushed your long, claw-like nails that were freshly painted every Tuesday. He’d gotten very good at it, Eddie thought. A hiss fell through the room, your hand pulled back with a sizzling burn, teeth bared towards him in threat.
“What- Eddie! What have I told you about those rings?” You pointed accusingly at his rings- silver. It was a habit, to slip them on in the morning, one he hadn’t broken yet. “Are you trying to hurt me?”
“No, no.” Eddie shook his head frantically, tugging the rings off, shoving them in his pocket. “I’m sorry. I-I forgot-”
“-I’m sure you did.” You rolled your eyes, lips pursed in displeasure. “Don’t let it happen again. I burn myself again on those cursed things, and you’ll not have a hand to put them on anymore. Understand?” You clipped, nose in the air as you climbed down, nails digging into his skin just enough to solidify the threat.
“Yes, Mistress.” Eddie swallowed, following the commanding sway of your hips. “I won’t let it happen again.”
“Good.” You chirped. There it was. The whirlwind that was your emotions. Mood swings, Eddie never understood why they called them that until he met you. How you would go from raging to sweet in the bat of an eye. Maybe it came with being a vampire.
“Get my dress.” You waved your hand, the heavy mahogany closet door flinging open with ease.
“Which one were you wanting today?” Eddie swallowed his agitated sigh.
It had been a rough couple of days, the three- fuck, four, of his new found ‘roommates’ had been on a bender of sorts. A bender that would put the rockstars he idolized in high school to shame, much more metal than them. It was fun, Eddie would admit, but it was tiresome. Especially when he was still very much human, and so very exhausted.
“The black one.” You hummed, looking into a mirror you couldn’t see yourself in. Habit, of course, even after all these years.
“They’re all black, Mistress.” Eddie gritted, eyes pinching closed.
“The one with the long sleeves.” You waved him off. “You know the one I like.”
And he did. Eddie knew most everything about you at this point. Which dress you liked, your preference of food source, how many candles you liked lit at a time.
Eddie pushed through the racks, stopping when he saw the velvet garment. It was what you were wearing when he first met you. At the Hideout, where he was still bussing tables, hoping to finally get a weekend gig. You strolled in, magnetic from the moment his eyes laid eyes on you. So… intriguing in your tight velvet dress, fastened with a corset that held you up and in beautifully. Initially, he’d went to try and ask you out, and you’d humored his attempts because you were hungry. Then, after a few hours of conversation, you both decided he’d be a better Familiar than a meal.
“Eddie,” You hissed, breath whistling through your fangs. The sound never failed to make Eddie’s spine tingle, hair raising on the back of his neck in fear. “Have you hit your head? Is that it?”
“No,” Eddie grumbled, pushing the wooden hangers.
“Then what is it? Hm? Why are you dragging your feet today?” You snapped, hands curling around your hips.
“My apologies, Mistress.” Eddie huffed. “I’m just- nevermind. Here. I found it.” Eddie pulled the lacy material, hanging sleeves and bouts of black fabric out of the closet, hanging it on the door for you.
“No, finish what you were going to say.” Your eyes narrowed into his, commanding, but lacking the usual tone of challenge and threat. “You’re what?”
“It’s nothing. I’m fine. Do you need help zipping up this one-”
“-No, answer me, Eddie.” You lifted a finger towards him. “Do not make me use compulsion. I know how groggy and moody you get after it, and I have many plans for today. I’d rather not, but if you’re not going to comply, then I will be forced to-”
“-You don’t have to- Fuck, I’m just tired.” Eddie’s shoulders slumped in defeat, running a hand over his face. “I didn’t sleep much last night.”
“Why?” Your head tilted, lips pursed in curiosity, reaching for the dress before sliding behind the dressing curtain.
“Because,” Eddie tried to focus on the carpet, on the candle wax that dripped off the table, anywhere but the curtain you were behind though he ached for even a silhouetted sliver of your frame. “I just couldn’t sleep.”
“Maybe you should get a coffee?” You peaked over the bamboo wood, a brow lifting in… playfulness?
“I think Robin has the lock box in her room. Ask her for it and go get yourself one.” As if draining a victim of their blood wasn’t enough, Eddie’s career consisted of stealing from them too. It always left him feeling a little uneasy, guilty, robbing the deceased.
“I’m alright. I just need a second to wake up.” Eddie muttered, heel of his palm pressing to his eyes, rubbing so hard he saw stars.
“Fine, but I better not hear one yawn during the house meeting.” You glared, stepping out from behind the dressing curtain. “You know how that irks me. Zip me.”
Eddie stood, one hand holding the top together, pulling the zipper slowly up your spine, finger brushing over your spine. Your skin was cold, like ice, a chilling reminder of what you truly were.
“Last chance.” You turned, swiping your shoes from the floor, discarded from the night before. “Before I go and wake the others.”
“I’m fine.” Eddie nodded softly, lips curling with the hinting of a smile. “Thank you.”
Your lips pursed, shifting at the sudden gratitude. He knew you were about to say something mean, put him down to establish your own dominance, you were predictable that way. “Don’t thank me,” You scoffed. “It’s not for you. I don’t want to hear your yawning.” You scoffed, eyes rolling hard towards him, before you were stomping down the creaking wooden planks of the hall.
The Creel Mansion was still standing strong, despite its abandoned looking exterior. It had been your refuge for years, decades even, since Victor had first brought you there. It was his house before, but now all that remained of him was a portrait at the end of the hall, half covered by a black veil you refused to let Eddie move.
“Robin!” Your shrill tone made Eddie wince, ears ringing at the pitch. “Nancy!”
“What?” Robin groaned, her voice muffled with sleep from the door of her coffin, which you pulled open, uncaring of disrupting her slumber. “What- Why?”
“House meeting. Hurry, before he gets home.” You muttered, turning over your shoulder towards Eddie. “Eddie, go check downstairs. Make sure he didn’t slip in early.”
Eddie nodded, grabbing a small handheld lantern- a gift from you. He kept burning himself with the candle opera you’d gifted him, and when he wasn’t searing his skin off with the flame, he was turning to quickly and extinguishing all the flames. You told him it was because he’d wake you up with his fumbling in the dark. When you’d included the batteries with the small lantern, Eddie was convinced it was because you were growing a soft spot for him.
A creaking of a door had Eddie jumping, looking through the flickering flames with his bright plastic lantern. “Uh, hey,” Eddie stepped closer. “Anyone there?”
The silence was an eerie answer, Eddie swinging the lantern around. It was times like this, he really wished that the electricity still worked, that he could flick a light on, and see what was lurking in the shadows. The dining room appeared empty, a few spider webs and lots of dust, but lack of any danger Eddie could see.
“Looking for something?”
“Jesus Christ! What the fuck-” Eddie jumped, nearly dropping his lantern, tripping over his own feet to scatter away from the figure in front of him.
“Did I scare ya?” Jonathan’s lips curled in a half smile, standing rigidly in the doorway. “You know, they say if you get scared easily, you’re not living right. That’s a saying that’s been repeated and found all throughout history. In Christianity, oddly enough, is where they-”
“-Alright, Jonathan. I got it.” Eddie lifted a hand, his heart still hammering. He could feel his lids beginning to droop, eyes starting to gloss over the way they always did when Jonathan ‘fed’. A shitty excuse for a vampire, Eddie thought, What the fuck even is a psychic vampire?
“Oh,” Your face fell, contorting into a grimace when you came down the steps. “Jonathan, you are home early today.”
“Yes, I decided to come home early today.” Jonathan droned in a painful monotone that had your shoulders tensing. “I didn’t want to miss the house meeting.”
“Wonderful.” You grimaced, looking at Eddie with an annoyed sneer. He fought back a snicker, turning to the bat down a cobweb that he missed. You could be funny at times, when you wanted.
“I know you three tried to hide it from me, but you always talk too loud. You forget the walls are thin. Which reminds me, did you know that back in the early nineteen-hundreds when this house was first built, that architects of that time used-”
“-Yes, Jonathan. Please, shut the fuck up.” Robin groaned, falling into the leather armchair.
“Jonathan, I really can’t humor you today.” Nancy glared at him lightly. “You know the rules, if you’re going to be in a house meeting with us, you can’t feed off of us.”
“I know.” Jonathan lifted his hands. “Sorry, I can’t help myself.” He turned to Eddie with a grin. “Guess it’s just you I’ll be feeding from.”
“Not from my Familiar either, Jonathan.” You snapped, teeth baring in territorial threat. “Eddie is off limits.” Eddie’s chest swelled with pride, chin tipping towards the floor, hoping it would hide his blush.
“Why are we even having a house meeting?” Robin rolled her eyes, the bags under her eyes especially prominent from lack of slumber.
“Because,” You hissed, shoulders tight with annoyance. “You three need to get your own familiar.”
Robin scoffed, Nancy rolling her eyes in agreement. “What?”
“You three always call for Eddie to do everything, and it distracts him from me.” You jabbed a sharp nail into your chest. “I need him to be attentive to my needs, not yours. Go get your own familiar.”
“Oh, please-”
“-We only ask him to do a few things that should already be done-”
“-I have to agree with Rob and Nance on this one.” Jonathan lifted a finger.
“Do not call me that.” Nancy hissed, her teeth baring in the dull light of the room.
“Nan?” Jonathan turned, eyes lighting up though his expression stayed neutral, the way it always did when he was feeding.
“Ok,” You lifted your hands, stopping the attack Nancy was about to launch. “Find your own familiar. Eddie is my familiar, and is to attend to me exclusively.”
“I’m sure he does.” Robin muttered, Nancy’s snicker making your ears burn- well, it would, if they still could. Eddie’s cheeks did burn a bright red, shifting at the innuendo.
Your eyes narrowed, a threatening glare that neither of your roommates seemed phased by, only furthering your irritation. A sharp snap of your fingers, heavy soled steps clicking down the hall, and Eddie was following you.
“Idiots,” You hissed, flinging the door open. “All of them. I should’ve told them no, that they’d have to find their own nest, but oh no. I had to feel fucking generous and kind that day.”
Eddie stood in your doorway, hands rubbing down the material of his jeans, unsure of what to say, what to do. His eyes on you, waiting for your next command, for you to tell him what you were wanting, what you were thinking.
“Are you just going to stand there?” You huffed, a lashing tone that had Eddie jumping.
“No, wha-what do you need me to do?” Eddie stammered, uneasy with the glare you were giving him, so menacing. He knew better, or at least he thought he did, that you wouldn’t hurt him. You’d chosen him to be your Familiar for a reason… right?
“I don’t know, something?” You scoffed, eyes rolling back over his frame. “Maybe start with changing your clothes. We’re going out tonight and I’m not being seen with you in that.”
Eddie’s lips pursed, jaw grinding tight. He’d blame the lack of sleep on his agitation. “What do you want me to wear then, Mistress?” Eddie’s tone was bitter, toying on the edge of annoyance.
“Who are you speaking to-”
“-You.” Eddie snapped, shocking both of you. There was a pause, realization washing over the two of you. “I just- I like what I have on, ok?” Eddie’s tone was softer, looking down at his ripped jeans and holey band tee. “It’s what people from this century wear.”
Your lips rolled, flattening into a furious line. For a moment, Eddie thought you might pounce- fully preparing himself for the hiss, the baring of teeth, to feel his throat being ripped from his neck. Instead, you simply huffed, turning on your foot.
“Fine.” A quipping, positively moody huff of a reply came. In that moment, you sounded petulant, human.
“If you insist on wearing mauled clothing, then so be it.” You shrugged, a snarl still pulling on the edge of your lips.
“Thank you.” Eddie nodded, swallowing down the tremble in his throat. “And, uh, thank you for before, too.” You turned, brow lifted in intrigue. “For- During the meeting.”
“I didn’t do that for you.” Your reply was quick, teetering on defensive. “I did that for myself. I can’t wait for you because they’re too lazy to go out and compel their own Familiar.”
“Right.” Eddie’s shoulders slumped in defeat. He gave up, ready to throw the towel in. Clearly, you were set on your mood and there would be no changing it. No swaying it with charming kindness today.
“I’m going to go.” Eddie stepped towards the door. “I’ll go dust or something. Just let me know when you’re ready to go-”
“-No.” Your voice echoed through the halls, bouncing off the walls, a sense of urgency that had Eddie freezing.
You wrung your hands in front of you, anxiously. “No, just- stay in here.”
Eddie frowned. “You just told me to go do something.”
“I know,” You huffed. “But, just stay in here with me. Robin and Nancy won’t be ready for hours, and… and if you go down there Jonathan will try to feed and drain you, and-”
Eddie recognized the ramble in your tone, a sliver of humanity breaking through the cracks of your cold, monstrous exterior. It was rare, you to turn soft like this- needy, but Eddie knew why you did it. He knew what you wanted.
“Fine.” Eddie nodded, stepping into your bedroom, shutting the door carefully so the candles didn’t blow out.
A lingering pause fell between the two of you, thick with an uncomfortable but familiar tension. Routine but an oddity all the same.
“What do you want me to do in here, hm?” Eddie’s voice dropped, slow steps across the hardwood towards you. “Just sit here and stare at you.”
“No,” Your chest tightened. It had been years since your heart had beat, but you swore Eddie could make it skip. “Surely, there’s something better that we could do to pass the time.” You declared, voice a little shaky with desperation to regain your control.
“Yeah? What do you have in mind?” Eddie’s lips curled in a smirk, his face near inches from yours. “I’m at your service, Mistress.”
Your body tingled with heat, the only warmth you craved, the only warmth you needed. You were shocked, when you first transitioned to your undead state, that this feeling didn’t go away. If anything, it grew stronger.
“I think you know what I have in mind.” You glared at him, half heartedly. “Don’t make me beg, or I’ll make you beg later.”
“I would never, Mistress.” Your thighs twitched, Eddie’s hands sliding over the lacy material of your dress, the swell of your hips. “I’m your faithful servant. You just tell me what you want- whatever you need.”
“Hm,” You breathed slowly, your body closing in with him, chest to chest. Your nails raked over the etched skin of his forearms, dragging a sharp nail up his neck, to his jaw. Eddie shuddered, fingers sinking into your waist
Your lip grazed over his, mouth parting just barely, your fangs hovering over his bottom lip teasingly. Eddie swallowed back a moan that you didn’t miss. Your eyes met his, darker now- nearly black, the way they always darkened when you got like this. Aroused and needy, entirely hungry for something.
“You’ve got to be quiet this time.” You gave him a pointed look. “They heard last time. They’re starting to catch on.”
“Sorry.” Eddie swallowed, nose brushing over yours. He wanted to press his hand to the back of your head, kiss you with an urgency, but he knew better. That wasn’t how you liked it. Oh no, you liked the anticipation, the adrenaline filled excitement that came with teasing.
“Who cares if they know anyways?” Eddie muttered brainlessly, eyes glossing when they met yours. “What’s so wrong with it?”
“It’s unnatural.” You whispered. “Complicated.”
“What’s so complicated about it?” Eddie scoffed lightly, hand sliding up your spine, towards your zipper. “You’re turning me into a vampire anyways, right? Why’s it matter?”
You hesitated, breath hitching and ghosting over his lip, chilling him. “It’s just- it makes things difficult now.” You stammered, fingers sliding through his hair. “I don’t want to talk about that now.” Your thumbs pressed lightly to his temples, his eyes meeting yours.
“For now,” You purred, lips curling in a small grin. “I think you should thank me again, but this time,” Your nose brushed over his. “By letting me sit on your face. That seems fair, right? You thank me, I keep you quiet- a win-win.”
Eddie blushed, lips spreading in a wide grin. “Yes, Mistress.”

part two
Tumblr media
“Well hello everybody!” Eddie exclaims, scaring half the Hellfire lunch table with his presence. You hear groans and curses fill the table as Eddie laughs at the reactions he pulled from his friends. You just sit in the seat that’s located on the left of his, laughing at his usual antics, but curiosity begins to strike when you take a look at Eddie.
His face is bright and shiny, his smile stretching from ear to ear as he sits down with his lunch, pulling out some pretzels to munch on. You take in the other details about him, how his hair looks actually kept up and how he doesn’t reek of his usual pot smell, but of…cologne? You had no idea who it was that was sitting next to you, but it sure as hell wasn’t Eddie Munson.
“What’s got you so happy today, Eds?” You ask, nudging him with your elbow. He flashes you a big smile, pretzel bits showing along with his pearly whites. He looks adorable as ever.
“Well I’m glad you asked, sweetheart. I, Eddie Munson, have a date tonight,” he announces. Your heart does a summersault at the nickname, his nickname he always uses on you, before you fully process the second part of his statement, making your breathing stop for a moment. What the fuck?
You didn’t make this fact known, but you were crushing on Eddie…hard. The two of you have been close since your middle school days, having really connected with his band Corroded Coffin playing at the school talent show and approached them afterwards to share your appreciation. It’s been history ever since.
But it wasn’t until your freshman year of high school when you started crushing on Eddie. You had been having a hard time at home due to your parents divorce, and your father winning full custody meant you moved into the same trailer park Eddie and his Uncle Wayne lived in, the two of you growing closer than before now that you only lived a few doors down. You and Eddie would spend most of your nights together anyway, and one particular night your freshman year, you felt these butterflies flutter around in your stomach as your head rested against Eddie’s shoulder watching Sleepaway Camp, your and his favorite movie that you’d watch at least once a month together. Since that day you had kept your feelings hidden from him, not wanting to ruin things between you and your best friend. You thought the pain of not having him in your life at all outweighed the pain of being stuck in love with him, and that was a fight you’d be willing to battle.
“W-what? W-with who?” You ask, trying to cover up your slight stutter with a cough.
“Okay so you remember our latest show at the Hideout? Well with more and more people starting to show up as of recently, we’ve been getting some fans. And this girl, her name is Shirley, gave me her number and I thought ‘What the hell?’ and rang her up yesterday,” he explains to you and everyone at the table, the freshman not being able to help their curious little selves.
“That’s cool Eds,” you reply back, trying with all your willpower to remain neutral and shove the emotions you were actually feeling down deep inside.
“Yeah. We’re actually hanging out after Hellfire. She even said she might swing by, she’s been curious about the game a little. At least, that’s what she told me,” he tells you, causing you to drop your fork and look at him. He shoots you a weird expression at your reaction.
“Oops, sorry. But uh, I thought you weren’t allowing non-members into the meetings anymore?” You ask, your eyebrow raised.
“That’s true, but, as Dungeon Master, I’ll make an exception this one time. Who knows, maybe she could become an honorary member. She’s really cool, Y/N. You’d get along with her great,” he tells you as he clasps his hand on your shoulder.
“I seriously doubt it,” you mutter lowly, hoping your close proximity to Eddie didn’t allow him to hear. As if a saving grace occurred, the lunch bell rang and you jolted up from your seat, collecting your trash. You could see Eddie eyeing you from your peripheral. One thing there is about Eddie, he’s observant as hell. You’d usually applaud and commend it, but in cases where you were trying best to hide your feelings, you absolutely hated it. Sometimes you wondered how you were able to get away with him not knowing how you truly felt, but all the more relieved that he didn’t.
“Hey sweetheart? Is everything okay?” He asks you. You quickly turn to him with a slight smile and nod, before rushing towards the trash can that sat behind him.
“Yep, all good. Just gotta go tend to some newspaper stuff. I’ll see you at Hellfire!” Your words moving as fast as your legs as you bid the table goodbye until your meeting tonight, practically sprinting towards the newspaper room, where you’d spill your feelings to one Nancy Wheeler in your secluded gossip corner.
Nancy was one of the only people who knew about your crush on Eddie. The two of you have been super close since you started high school, and even more so with all the shit that’s happened with the Upside Down that started when the two of you were sophomores. Plus, with her brother now joining the Hellfire Club, she asked you to keep an eye on him, especially with everything that’s already happened in Hawkins, but you really didn’t blame her for that.
Stumbling down the hall with your backpack sliding off your shoulders, you open the doors to the newspaper room and see Nancy’s head pop up from her collaborating with Fred. You walk down the stairs calmly while giving her a pleading look, nodding your head towards the corner the two of you have your major discussions at. She gives you a small nod before returning to her conversation with Fred.
You unpack your bag and begin working a bit on the paper while you wait for Nancy. You were trying your best to remain calm, focussing on your breathing so you didn’t get worked up more than you were when you started talking with Nancy. Your mind had a habit of working against you, running a hundred miles a minute coming up with the absolute worst scenario of every situation you encountered. You didn’t need to be thinking doubtfully about your friendship with Eddie, but you physically couldn’t help it.
How could Eddie have a date with someone and not tell you sooner?
The two of you were best friends, he always told you when something great happens to him immediately after, and you do the same with him. Living just a few doors down, you had that luxury of always being near the person when you celebrate your wins, or comfort one another in your losses. So him keeping this from you until the next day? It definitely hurt, in more ways then one, and you didn’t quite understand it. Would you still be upset about it? Absolutely, so that bit didn’t matter much. You just wanted to know why. Why he’s choosing to date someone now, after being single for so long. Why he-
“Hey, I’m here. Sorry, I was working with Fred on the basketball story,” Nancy tells you, pulling you out of your zoned-out state.
“No worries,” you say, your voice residing somewhere distant. You feel a slight kick come from under the desk, prompting you to look down for a second, before bringing your eyes up to see Nancy, who shoots you a look of concern. Nancy too, was very observant, from what you’ve seen over your friendship the past three, nearly four, years. The people you surrounded yourself with the most were some of the most observant people in Hawkins, which was both a blessing and a curse. You sigh, turning slightly closer to her, ready to confess.
“Eddie has a date tonight,” you whisper softly. You watch her jaw open, as shocked as you were. At least, hoping in the same sense that you were, and not in a negative way. You never really knew about Nancy’s stance on Eddie, whether she liked him or not. The way you talk about him all the time you would think she’d be sick of it all, but never stopped you from spilling your secrets out to her.
“No way! With who?” She whisper-yells, scooting closer to you. You watch over her shoulder at Fred and some others looking your way, so you fake working on a spread, signaling Nancy to do the same.
“Some girl that came to their gig at the Hideout on Tuesday. I didn’t see it so it must’ve been when I went to the bathroom,” you continue to tell her while fake focusing on the piece of paper in front of you. Your entire demeanor suddenly became deflated, saying it aloud and hearing it from yourself. All becoming so real.
“That’s crazy. Are you okay, Y/N?”
“No, but what can I do about it? He and I aren’t dating, so I have no room to say who he can or can’t date,” you answer. You peak over at her and see her looking you dead in the eye, to which you couldn’t blame her. Even you didn’t believe what you were saying.
“Yeah, I know. He said she might stop by Hellfire, and, Nance, I have no idea how I’m supposed to get through the meeting tonight if she’s there,” you tell her. She reaches out and squeezes your hand and you give her a tight-lipped smile.
“Hey, if you think it’ll help, I can pick you up from Hellfire tonight and we can chill at my house for a sleepover. Junk food, distractions…I can even invite Robin and see if she’ll pick up some tapes after her shift at Family Video tonight,” Nancy suggests. You eyes widen in excitement and nod, truly needed a night where you don’t talk or think about Eddie. Just a night with your girls.
“That would honestly be the best, thank you Nance,” you tell her. She flashes a warm smile your way and scoots a bit away from you.
“Perfect. I’ll pick you and Mike up at 9 after I get Robin from her shift, if she’s free. It’ll be fun,” you tells you. You agree and continue working on your spread, excitement flowing through your body at the thought of a fun night ahead, even with the dread buried in the pit of your stomach at the thought seeing Eddie tonight at Hellfire with a woman at his side. A woman that wasn’t you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Running down the halls and towards the room behind the theater, you look at your watch and try to pick up the pace. You had lost track of time in your efforts in avoiding Eddie by doodling some drawings in the sketchbook that you kept on you at all times, which in turn made you late to Hellfire, something you never did. But in your defense, you usually had Eddie giving you a ride to and from the meetings. Today was not like the rest. Walking through the threshold of the meeting room, you give yourself a few moments to catch your breath.
“Sorry I’m late, I-“ you began to say, but were interrupted by giggling coming from Eddie’s throne. You see a girl with strappy heels and a short, short dress leaning against it playing with Eddie’s brunette fringey curls. That must be Shirley.
“Oh good, you’re here. We almost started without you,” Dustin exclaims, his goofy smile appearing on his face.
“Yeah, I doubt it,” you tell him, throwing your bag in the seat closest to him and ruffling his hair, him protesting and swatting at you in return. You notice out of the corner of your eye Eddie giving you a confused look, then looking towards your usual seat, which remained empty. It was no secret that you had your own seat in Hellfire, right next to the Dungeon Master himself, but today, you knew it was best to keep your distance. Didn’t want to interfere with his date and all.
“Alright, now that everyone’s here,” Eddie pauses, giving you a look. You chose to just look at the table in front you to avoid eye contact. “Lets start.”
Dustin is the first to roll the dice, and everyone around watches as the campaign for the week begins. You try your best to pay attention to the game in front of you, but keep getting distracted by the amount of giggling coming from Eddie’s throne, due to himself and Shirley. They were acting like those couples you and Eddie would make fun of in the halls that were practically fucking in the halls of Hawkins High, and you’d always make fake sick sounds as you passed by them. Now that he’s acting those same people right in front of you and the rest of the club, you felt yourself growing sick, for real this time.
You stood to the side as you watched Shirley climb in Eddie’s lap, draping herself all over him and her lips ghosting over his ears as she whispers little things in his ears, and the reactions he gives to her words make you want to punch a wall. Not in anger, but in jealous. The green eyed monster had awoken inside you, and you felt yourself getting riled up at the thought of them continuing this act throughout the rest of the meeting. The worst part of it all? You knew this isn’t where the night ended for them, and you could only imagine what other kinds of plans they had up their sleeves.
“Y/N, you’re up,” Mike whispers to you, snapping you out of your small jealousy-induced trance. You take the dice from Gareth and shake the dice in your cold hands a few times, before tossing them on the table.
6.
You didn’t have enough health to pull any big moves. No luck to play the hero tonight. You sigh and slump your shoulders as the rest of the group lets out an annoyed groan. You were completely off your game for the night and you knew with how observant the club was, they could tell. But luckily for you, they didn’t press you about any issues you may be having.
“What’s your move, Lady Y/N?” Eddie asks you, his smug look making your skin crawl. Usually his dramatics during the game always wowed you and you’d join in, but it was hard to take in anything he was saying or doing with the leech that was attached to his hip.
“I…retreat,” you say, taking a step back from the table and Mike is quick to take the dice and roll for himself in order to save the campaign. You walk over to the seat you set your stuff in and take the sketchbook out you’d been busy with before the meeting and begin to draw.
“Do you know where the closest bathroom is, rockstar?” you hear Shirley ask. You mentally groan.
“Sure thing. Y/N, can you show her where it is?” Eddie asks, turning to you. You place your sketchbook back in your bag and stand from your chair. Flashing Eddie a fake smile, you nod and begin to walk towards the door, the sound of Shirley’s heels clicking behind you filling your ears.
The halls are quiet as you make your way to the bathroom around the corner.
“So you and Eddie, you’re best friends right?” Shirley asks you as you continue your journey to the bathroom.
“Yep, since middle school,” you answer.
“Oh that’s cool! I’m gonna be honest, I was a little worried when Eddie told me he had a girl best friend. I always think guy girl friendships are weird and don’t last. They usually always end up dating in the end or ending the friendship because one likes the other, and the other doesn’t feel the same way. At least, that’s how I see them,” she rambles. You slowly nod and point out the bathroom, her thanking you and doing a fake little run inside.
Pressing your back against the wall outside the bathroom, you can’t help but think on the words she said, the thoughts of you and Eddie ending your friendship lingering and seeping into every fiber of your body. It’s the exact reason you kept your feelings deep down and hidden, but would that work out in the end? Are you putting yourself through the pain and heartache for nothing?
The bathroom doors opens once more and she comes out.
“Thanks for waiting for me. I’m really excited to hangout with Eddie after your club ends,” she tells you.
“What exactly do you two have planned?” You ask, your curiosity getting the best of you. Part of you didn’t want to know, but your brain was screaming at you to find out.
“Nothing special. We’re gonna go back to his place and hangout, maybe smoke some. He also mentioned something about watching a movie…Sleepaway Camp? Have you heard of it?”
You froze.
Did she really just say that?
She stops and turns to you, giving you a look of concern. You felt the world around you starting to spin, the feelings from everything starting to come up.
“I-um, I’m sorry, but I-I’m not feeling too great right now. The theater’s in there, but I’m gonna go outside and get some air. C-Can you tell someone to bring my stuff out to me when everything ends?” You ask, your voice shaking as you lean against the wall for support. She gives you a nod and scurries inside the theater, leaving you to bolt out the doors of the school and towards the parking lot.
You bent over and held onto the railing by the stairs that spilled out into the parking lot, convincing yourself you needed to wretch. The feelings clouding your brain were mixed, swirling together in a nasty mixture that you weren’t sure how you’d describe to Nancy and Robin. The feels of hate and sadness blurring the lines and becoming one as you stood outside, wishing you had your jacket to protect your from the harmful feelings and the cool March temperature.
Sitting on the stairs with no luck on spewing your guts out, you let out a sigh and hug yourself in a pathetic attempt to warm up a bit. Your body grew cold rather easily, something that was always an issue, but the solution, or rather the two, were inside. You kept your jacket on you at all times, even despite the temperature being hot, because you never know when you might need it. In the event you forgot your jacket, Eddie would either lend you one of his, or just wrap himself around you, rubbing your arms with his big ring-clad hands to get you in a good place. You always welcomed that comfort. It felt nice being so close to him, even if he may not feel the same.
Your pity party is interrupted by a car pulling into the lot and parking right by the stairs. As the window rolls down, you see Robin pop her head out in a cheerful manner, but soon her features soften when she takes in your sour expression and sad body language.
“What happened?” Nancy asks from the driver seat. You rise to your feet with a sigh and walk over to the car, leaning inside through the window.
“More like what didn’t happen,” you respond, shaking your head and shrugging.
“Did that girl show up? Nancy filled me in on everything when she picked me up, so I have a ton of movie choices for tonight,” Robin rambles.
“Yeah she showed up. And they were being gross and lovey-dovey all night. Made me want to puke,” you explain. You feel Robin’s hand touch yours in an attempt to comfort you, to which you place your other hand on top of hers and give it a pat.
“And what prompted you to be out here instead of inside?” Nancy asks.
“Well first off-“ you begin, but hear laughter coming from behind you as the school doors open. You turn and see everyone laughing and walking together, the meeting drawing to an end for the week and you let out a soft sigh. Everyone goes in different directions, with Jeff, Gareth, and Dustin going off in one direction, Eddie and Shirley going towards their van, and Lucas and Mike coming towards you guys. Mike nor Lucas had your bag in their hands, which made you worried that you’d have to go all weekend without your supplies and homework.
“Wait, Y/N, where’s your stuff?” Robin asks. You shrug your shoulders and turn to the side, Eddie standing by Nancy’s car. You see his unreadable demeanor comes closer to you, his eyes fixed on yours as he holds out your bag to you. Taking it, you sling it over your shoulder and slide over as he kept walking closer to the window you once hung out of.
“Wheeler, you might if I borrow Y/N for a sec before you take off?” He asks. You watch Nancy nod and Eddie leads you over away from her car, out of ear shot of both Nancy and that crew, and Shirley, who’s waiting at Eddie’s van. You both just look at each other for a moment, you not really knowing what to say.
“Thanks for grabbing my-“
“What’d I do?” He asks you, his voice sounding neutral. You look towards the ground and swing back and forth on your feet for a moment, trying to think of a reasonable excuse for your behavior today.
“Nothing,” you reply, your eyes glued to the ground.
“You can’t even look at me, Y/N,” he says, looking down to try and catch your eyes. You let out a huff and look back up at him, trying to get this conversation over with, which was something you never wished with Eddie.
“There’s nothing wrong, okay? I promise,” you tell him. Now it was his turn to huff, added with a kick to the ground. You could see that you’re irritating him, and if you were him, you’d be irritated as well. But today was not your day, you just needed time away from him and try to bury the feelings you had towards him even further down. Take the weekend and recoup. Not to mention, his date was merely a hundred feet away and waiting for him to go back to your place and watch a movie together. Your guys’ movie.
“Y/N, please, I know you better than anyone. Can you please ju-“
“Eds! Are we going soon?” Shirley yelled from the van.
Ouch.
She just used your signature nickname for him.
What else did they plan on taking from you today?
“Soon sweetheart, I promise,” Eddie yelled back.
Double ouch.
Now he was using your signature nickname.
“You know what Eddie, just go, she’s waiting on you. Have fun watching Sleepaway Camp,” you tell him. Shit, why’d you just say that.
Your mind was starting to think before your mouth, the feelings that have been brewing the entire day bubbling to the surface and taking over the part of your brain that had rational thinking. That green-eyed monster was started to show her true colors. You turn on your heel and begin to take off towards Nancy’s car, when you feel Eddie grasp your wrist, stopping you.
“Wait, Y/N, how’d you know we were watching Sleepaway Camp? Did she tell you that?” He asks. You sigh and shift towards him.
“Yeah, we talked in the hall. But it’s not big deal Eddie, just go,” you say, not understanding why he was so determined to make things right between the two of you right now? Yeah, the two of you hated leaving things in a bad place, but you never pressed him about anything he was super upset about or just didn’t feel like talking about, and usually he was the same with you. Maybe today was not destined to be in the cards for you after all.
“You’re jealous,” he says matter-of-factly. You scoff and cross your arms, trying to add another layer of defense between you and your fragile heart that was about to break loose with all these feelings. You were starting to lose your resolve, and you weren’t sure how much longer you’d be able to hold yourself together.
“I am not jealous!”
“You are totally jealous! Jealous that I’m spending time with someone, a girl, who isn’t you. Don’t worry, Y/N, you aren’t being replaced, I’ll always make time for you,” he tells you, thinking he’s helped, when really, it only hurt more. Like he thought he’d have to pencil you into his life.
“It’s not that Eds-“ you begin to say, but his laugh cuts you off.
“Then what is it then? You mad you don’t have a ride? Or-or-or upset that we’re watching Sleepaway Camp?” he pesters you. You could feel yourself getting really worked up and uncomfortable, wanting to just jet off to Nancy’s car and ride far away from this conversation.
“Oh wait, do you like me or something Is that it? Do you have a big ol’ crush on me?” He asks mockingly, making you freeze. “Just tell me what’s wrong Y/N, please.”
You hesitate.
Fuck.
You. Fucking. Hesitate.
“N-no, I don’t have a crush on you,” you say, brushing it off with a weak laugh. You see Eddie himself freeze, looking at you with a deadpan expression. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
“Wait, Y/N…you have a crush on me?” he asks. That was definitely an understatement. You swallow down a breath that wasn’t able to escape, your body beginning to shake in fear.
You see the way his entire demeanor changed when he realized. The dramatics you so desperately loved stopped all together, replacing it with a scared look. Scared that it’s true and he had to let you down? Scared that he didn’t feel the same way? Scared it was you, of all people? That familiar feeling of wanting to throw your guts up began to boil in the pit of your stomach, your chest tightening as you continued to stare Eddie down like a dear caught in headlights, the silence booming throughout the parking lot. You couldn’t handle this, not tonight. You’ve already had the shittiest day possible, you need to escape before you lose your best friend forever.
You take off in the opposite direction, towards Nancy’s car as you hear Eddie calling after you. The tears were brimming your eyelids, desperate to fall and let every emotion you’ve been bottling up all day to come out in a flood. You open the car door and hop inside, practically shoving Mike in the middle.
“Drive Nance,” you say, shooting them a pleading look.
“Wait, Y/N, what happened?” Robin asks.
“Nancy, can you please drive away, now,” your voice raising as you plead. Nancy responds by changing the gear and stomping her foot on the gas pedal, making your escape out of the parking lot and away from Eddie Munson, who you can see still standing in the empty lot watching you leave. You let out a shaky breath as you turn and face out the window, hot tears rolling down your cheeks and sobs racking your body as you all make the journey to the Wheeler’s house.

“Do you have y/n y/l/n in class this year?” Robin asked as she took a bite of her sandwich.
She had been eating lunch in her favorite teacher’s classroom for years now, both because she enjoyed his company and because she didn’t have any friends to spend her lunch periods with. Their lunches were spent in a mixture of silence, as Robin read or listened to her language tapes and Mr. Hauser graded essays, and conversation, either discussing their literary thoughts or personal lives as they ate. Robin loved having an adult she could confide in at school and Mr. Hauser loved knowing that he had an impact on at least one of his students, their lunches were a highlight for both of them.
“Yes, she’s in my class for the period after your class. Why?” Mr. Hauser questioned, raising an eyebrow and looking up from the essays he was grading.
“Oh, n-no reason,” The blonde tried to sound nonchalant but failed miserably, “I just think that she may be a good travel companion for operation croissant, you know?”
“Miss y/l/n is a nice girl, but what happened to Tammy Thompson? I thought you wanted her to go with you to Europe?”
“Not anymore,” The blonde shrugged, “y/n is funny, curious, and passionate and Tammy doesn’t really care about anything but herself..”
Hauser nods, giving her a knowing smile, “Robin, do you think-“
“y/n sits beside me in biology and she always makes me laugh. I couldn’t get through that class without her leaning over and making fun of Mr. Reed’s southern accent or cracking a joke about one of our classmates. But she pays attention! And she’s genuinely interested in our experiments and she wants to know more about the world around us. She’s always asking brilliant questions; ones that I never would have thought of. She also told me that she wants to get out of Hawkins when she graduates and it took everything in me not to reveal operation croissant on the spot.” Robin rambled, her hands flying animatedly.
“Robin,” Mr. Hauser started again, “Do you think that you may have a small crush on y/n?”
Mr. Hauser was the only person that knew that she was a lesbian, other than Steve. She didn’t exactly come out to him, but he caught on based on how she spoke about Tammy Thompson sophomore year. It was an unspoken understanding. This was the first time that he ever directly spoken about it though, and it caught her off guard.
“What? No! I just think she’s cool and would like to be her friend outside of class, that’s all.”
Hauser nodded with a small chuckle as he got back to grading essays. He soon looked up at Robin again and broke the brief silence that fell over them.
“Then hang out with her.” He suggests, twirling his red pen around his fingers.
“What?”
Suddenly, Robin regretted bringing the topic up at all. Her teacher was always talking about how although he would always be here for her and his door would always be open for lunches, she needed friends her own age. She tried to tell him that she had Steve and occasionally hung out with Nancy Wheeler outside of school, but he insisted that she try and meet people that she could hang out with during the school day. She should have known that he would push her to try and hangout with you.
“Ask y/n to see a movie or to come over and do whatever it is that girls your age do these days. Get to know her.” He shrugged, dropping his pen on the stack of papers on his desk, “Who knows? Maybe you’ll find a new best friend.”
“I can’t do that,” Robin stated plainly as she twisted one of her rings around her middle finger.
“Why not?”
“I mean you said it yourself,”  She threw her hands up and leaned back in her desk chair, “I’m the weirdest girl in school. I can’t just ask her to hang out with me!”
“I think you’re selling yourself and y/n short here,” He pointed out, “She doesn’t strike me as someone who cares about appearances. And you’re different from most of the students here, but that’s what makes you interesting. You just need to find the right people, and y/n seems like she might be one of them.”
Robin stewed on that for a minute, but she doesnt get a chance to respond as the end of lunch bell rang out, interrupting her thoughts. She silently gathered her trash and stood up, throwing her backpack over her shoulder and offered her teacher a small wave as she headed for the classroom door.
“Robin,” he called out to her, catching her attention as she paused in the doorway, “Promise me you’ll try.”
She nodded and walked out the door.
****
The next day Robin bursted through Mr. Hauser’s classroom door, just as the lunch bell rang. She quickly set her backpack and lunch down on her usual desk, the closest one to Mr. Hauser’s desk, and started pacing the floor.
“I’m going to y/n’s house tonight and I’m a nervous wreck.”
He perked up, abandoning the novel he was reading to look at her, “So you asked her to hang out! I’m so proud-“
“No, no actually she asked me…” She trailed off, but quickly started again, “She and I were talking after class yesterday and she brought up this movie that she wanted to see. I mentioned that we had it at the video store and I’ve been meaning to watch it, then she just… asked if I wanted to come over and watch it and like a dumbass, I said yes.” Hauser shot her a warning look for her language and she gave him an apologetic smile before continuing, “What do I wear? What if I talk to much and she decides she hates me? I have to be her lab partner for the rest of the year! How will I get through biology with a lab partner that hates me?”
Hauser couldn’t help but chuckle at her ability to stress over something that hadn’t even happened yet, “First of all, sit down before you pace a hole in the floor.”
Robin obliged, taking a seat in her normal desk.
“Second of all, you know she doesn’t hate you, Robin. You told me that she cracks jokes with you and talks to you after class.” he reasoned, “Not to mention, she wouldn’t have asked you to hang out outside of school if she hated you.”
Robin nodded and started to eat her lunch, “I just don’t want to mess it up. You know I have no filter sometimes and I can’t stop talking. Not to mention my lack of social skills in general.”
“Well, from what you’ve told me, it seems you’ve done well so far. Just be yourself. That’s what you do in biology, right?”
“Yeah, but biology is a low pressure environment!” She argued, breaking her cookie in half and taking a bite with a slight pout.
“Tonight doesn’t need to be made into a high pressure environment either. You’re just two friends watching a movie together.”
When he put it that way, Robin had to admit that she was overreacting. It’s not like it was a date or anything… why was she treating it like one? Before she could give it much more thought, the bell rang and she collected her things. She gave the other half of her cookie to Mr. Hauser on her way out the door.
“Thanks for the advice,” She said sincerely, “I feel much better about tonight… for now, at least.”
“I’m glad I could be of service,” He chuckled, waving at her as she headed for the door, “See you tomorrow!”
****
The lunch bell sounded and right on cue, Robin walked through the door of Mr. Hauser’s classroom with her backpack on her shoulders and her lunch tray in her hands.
“So…” She started, setting her lunch tray down on her usual desk, “I may have a slight problem.”
“And what might that be?” Hauser asked, once again setting his grading aside in favor of listening to her.
“Well remember that first day when I brought up y/n and told you about how she sits next to me in biology and you asked if I had a crush on her?”
He nodded.
“Yeah, well I said no and I lied because I had a tiny crush on her, but after last night, it has grown to massive crush. I’m doomed.”
“So it went well then? She doesn’t hate you?” He joked with a knowing smile.
“No. She actually asked me to hang out again today… she’s taking me home after school and we’re going to go roller skating.”
“That sounds like fun!”
He really was proud of her for putting herself out there and meeting someone new.
“Yeah, except for the fact that I am a total klutz and will end up falling on my face in front of a pretty girl!”
Mr. Hauser chuckled, “Why didn’t you suggest something else if you were uncomfortable with skating?”
“Because she was so excited about roller skating and her smile was so pretty. I didn’t want to ruin it!” She huffed as she split her cookie in half and handed one half to Mr. Hauser. She shared her cookie with him every day and considered it payment for having to listen to her ramble, especially these last couple of days. She’s sure shes been insufferable.
“You’ll be fine, Robin.” He reassured her, taking a bite of his cookie, “I’m sure that it wasn’t skating that she was excited about, anyway.”
“You think so?”
“You didn’t hear it from me, but before my class started yesterday, I heard y/n talking about how excited she was to hang out with you.”
“What?” She practically jumped out of her seat, “You’re serious?”
He nodded, smiling at her excitement. Suddenly she was much more confident about hanging out with you, the roller skating of it all amost completely forgotten as she imagined your excitement to see her. Hauser let her get lost in her daydream for the rest of lunch and picked up his stack of papers to grade. When the end of lunch bell rang, Robin collected her things and looked at her teacher.
“You really think Ill do okay tonight?” She asked with furrowed brows as she slung her backpack over her shoulder.
“I do.” He dropped his grading pen on the stack of paper, “Go get ‘em.”
Robin laughed, rolling her eyes at the corniness of her English teacher.
“See you tomorrow, Mr. Hauser!” She threw a wave over her shoulder as she headed out the door.
****
“Are you sure this is allowed?” You asked nervously as you stood outside of Mr. Hauser’s door during your lunch period.
Robin nodded, squeezing your hand reassuringly, “I eat in here with Hauser every day,” She paused, “That makes me sound like a dork, doesn’t it?”
You giggled, bringing your joined hands up so you can kiss the back of her hand, “Not at all. Hauser’s cool. You’re cool.”
Robin felt her cheeks heat up at your words. You thought she was cool!
“Shall we?” The blonde asked with a soft smile.
You nodded in response as Robin pushed the classroom door open. This caught the attention of Mr. Hauser, who looked up from his novel to find you and Robin walking into his classroom hand in hand. His heart warmed at the sight. The blonde took her normal seat and you took the one next to her.
“Robin, y/n,” Mr. Hauser greeted with a warm smile, “How are you girls doing today?”
“We’re good!” Robin perked up, “I just wanted to introduce you to my girlfriend.”
You waved at him with a sheepish smile, “Hey, Mr. Hauser.”
He beamed proudly at Robin, “Congratulations to the both of you. When did this happen?”
“Last night at the roller rink,” You flashed a lovestruck smile at the blonde beside you.
“Turns out I’m not quite as awkward as we thought,” Robin jokes, nudging your side with her elbow and shooting Hauser a knowing smile.

Basic Biology | Robin Buckley x Reader

Summary: You're on the outside looking in, knowing Robin will never like you back the way you want her to.
✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧:・゚✧
Your eyes met hers as they did in every biology class. The same people had occupied the same seats since Freshman year, your teacher hated things changing his classroom so, if he had the same class then he would keep everyone in the same seats. Your biology class remained under his care in Biology through all of your years in High School, up to your senior year. Everyone else found it infuriating, some people sitting next to people they hated, some people dated their desk partners and broke up, some just not being anywhere near their friends. But you were content with this arrangement.
It had allowed you to be sat directly across the classroom from Robin, right in eyeshot, her facing the left side of the class, you facing the right. You had considered Robin a school friend, and you hoped she did too. There were no after-school hangouts, or even the potential for any, as it wasn’t the nature of your relationship. She had her friends, and you had yours.
Now this arrangement you weren’t too happy with. She was just… everything. Both with the shared love of playing a musical instrument, you were in the band club with her, which is what sparked the school friendship. You spent a lot of afternoons together, you were the duo who chatted about things that interest you in the corner of the room, and it would always come back to music. It was common ground that you had hoped to build on. Unfortunately, someone got in the way of your building preparations, and placed her own foundations down before you even got the chance.
Vickie.
Vickie had caught Robin’s attention when she joined band club, months after you and Robin did. Now it was no longer you making her laugh, it was no longer you who she gave a smile to welcome you into the room, inviting you to sit with her as you waited for the teacher to arrive.
She was everything… you were nothing.
Pushed to the sidelines of a friendship that probably wasn’t even considered a friendship by Robin, you were forced to watch as the foundations that you wanted to build got taller and taller every day. But they weren’t built by you.
You were simply a ghost, someone who wanted to be something more. But who were you kidding? Robin deserved Vickie, someone who she could have a conversation with without any awkwardness seeping off from you. Along with your other friends, you had seen Robin as one. But she didn’t even see you. But you saw her, the way her eyes would crinkle when she was happy, how she would play with her rings when anxious, the doodles she would create on her shoes when she was bored.
Her eyes would look at yours in the Biology classroom, and for a moment you thought that she could finally see you, but reality would soon give its bittersweet smile as her eyes moved past you and to Vickie who was two seats down from you.
She didn’t see you, she saw Vickie.
Despite knowing this, despite having your answer, your palms still sweated, your heart rate still elevated, and butterflies tormented your stomach whenever she looked over, even if her final destination was Vickie. Because after all, it’s just the basic biology of looking at someone you love.

“Shhh, don’t want us getting caught like this do you?”
Robin’s voice is hushed but stern, now lifting her head from between your trembling thighs. The blonde has you spread out on a bench in the dugout, skirt shoved up around your hips as her tongue laps up everything you have to offer.
That is until a broken moan leaves your lips, unable to stop it as her fingers curl up inside you. The sound breaks through the silence, the only thing heard above the soft hum of cicadas.
“What would your little friends think, hmm?” she taunts, brow raised as she looks up at you, dirt still smeared across her cheeks from the game. “Knowing a loser is the one making you feel so good?”
In that moment you can’t find it within yourself to care anymore, gripping her hair in your fist to guide her back between your legs. “Let them.”
Robin hums, her lips drifting lower to nip at the tender skin of your thighs. The action causes another loud whimper to leave you. “You sure about that, honey?”
“I don’t care,” you admit out loud for the first time, thoughts completely overwhelmed with all things Robin.
“Fuck, I don’t care anymore,” you sigh.
Never in your wildest dreams would you think tonight would turn out like this.
You’d been watching her from the sidelines as she attempted to slide into homebase, coming up a little short. You’d never gotten to see her play before, your extracurriculars usually running at the same time. But today had been just your luck, with Chrissy spraining her ankle, immediately being rushed off to get it iced. Coach ended practice shortly after—no use continuing without the star of the squad there, right?
It gave you the perfect opportunity to watch her without raising any suspicion—two of your teammates by your side, laughing as Robin struck out. You took your lower lip between your teeth, trying not to gawk as she rose to her feet. Dusting the dirt off her thighs when she caught your eye, biting back a smirk as she made her way towards the dugout.
But not before stopping by where you were leaning against the bleachers. Right there, in front of everyone for the first time.
See, this has been going on for months. The sneaking around, the feigned rivalry.
If only they knew what was really happening behind closed doors.
Tumblr media
You first noticed her late one afternoon, walking to your car after cheer practice. Robin hadn’t even crossed your radar, barely a glance in the hallway. Too wrapped up in your own world to notice. But there was just something about the warm glow of the sunset laying against her flushed cheek. The way she found your eyes, like she knew your secret, before she spit out the shell of a sunflower seed. Chuckling as she grabbed her bat and walked off.
All you knew after that was you desperately wanted to know more. And boy, did you.
You quickly learned through word of mouth that she had been caught hooking up with some girl in the band room after school. That confirmation prompted you to start dropping her little hints. Longing glances when no one was paying attention, nods in the hallway. Sneaking out of practice early just so she’d notice you walk by. And, sure, she noticed.
But Robin wasn’t going to come easy, was she?
No, she wanted to make you work for it. To prove to her you were serious, not just another girl looking to make out with her for the thrill of it. Or some sick joke conjured up by the cheer squad to humiliate her more.
You quickly realized that your subtle hints were not going to get you what you wanted. Her.
One day you’d finally had enough, boldly slipping a note in her locker between classes. Coaxing her to meet you in the secluded alley between the gym and the cafeteria. A place you’d only used to meet a certain super senior when you wanted to buy some weed.
A spot unknown or used by the majority of the students of Hawkins High, knowing you wouldn’t be seen or heard by any curious passersby.
Part of you was worried she wouldn't show, becoming increasingly more nervous as time passed. Any lingering qualms were squashed when you saw her striding down the narrow path towards you. She looked good, her dark jeans hugging her hips just right. A button-up shirt tucked loosely into them, the top few buttons left open.
You wanted nothing more than to lean forward, closing the short distance between your bodies. Leave a trail of blues and purples along her exposed skin. And that terrified you, to know that one girl could mess you up in such a monumental way.
“So,” you mumbled, kicking a pebble with the tip of your sneaker.
“So,” she answered, crossing her arms over her chest.
Without hesitation, you introduced yourself but Robin gave you a confused look.
“Yeah, I already know who you are.”
“You do?”
“Well, we’ve gone to school together our whole lives…” she paused, running a hand through her hair, “and when a girl is practically eye-fucking you in the halls, it’s hard not to notice.”
“Oh, right,” you replied, looking down. Embarrassment washed over you. “Sorry, I guess I misinterpreted this whole thing.”
You carefully pushed off the wall, ready to walk away and pretend like this whole thing never happened. Save yourself the humiliation.
But her soft voice stopped you in your tracks.
“I wouldn't say that.”
“Then what would you say?” you asked, more confident now.
“You’re the one who asked me here,” Robin pointed out, turning the focus back to you.
And just as quickly as your confidence had risen, it fell. So you looked down again, now fiddling with the hem of your skirt.
“I don’t, um,” you struggled. “I don’t really know how to say it. I just…I…”
“Oh, just spit it out already.”
You looked up at her exasperated expression, narrowing your eyes. “Fine! Fine. Whatever. I like you, okay?”
“Like me? We’ve never spoken.”
“Don’t give me that when I’ve seen the way you look at me too.”
Robin’s hardened expression fell. “Touché.”
Silence fell between you, Robin lifting her head to look at the sky. You couldn’t help but squirm again, feeling a desperate urge to breathe in her scent.
You sighed. “So, what do we do now?”
“Hell if I know,” she replied, looking back at you. “I thought you were stuck up like the rest of your prissy friends.”
“Not when I’m around you,” you admitted, barely above a whisper. “You make me feel…different, somehow.”
“I could make it much worse for you, you know,” Robin replied, a smug grin reaching her lips as she stepped closer to you. “All you have to do is ask.”
“Please—”
“Actually, no,” Robin interrupted, fingers inching towards your hip. “You should beg.”
“Please,” you said without hesitation. “Please, Robin. I need you.”
Robin knew she shouldn’t. And so did you. But there was just something there, pressing against your chests as Robin pressed you against the brick. And when she kissed you the first time, you nearly whined in contentment, mewling softly against her mouth.
That kiss left you feeling desperate, eager for her to show you more. However, Robin wasn’t going to chase you, forcing you to take matters into your own hands. You sought her out one night after practice, pulling her into the equipment room outside the gym. Backing her body against the door, lips meeting once you heard the lock click into place.
“Just couldn’t stay away now, could you, baby?” she mumbled against your mouth, pulling a soft whine from you as she nipped at your lower lip. The noise caused her to laugh softly.
“I want you, Robs.”
She hummed in response, letting her lips trail across your jaw. “Want me how?” she prodded as the tip of her nose skimmed along your collarbone, rendering you utterly speechless.
“Show me,” she breathed, further stealing the breath from your lungs as she kissed you deeply. Taking control as she flipped your positions, enclosing you against the door.
You’re pliable under her soft touch, guiding her fingers up and underneath your pleated skirt. The blue of her irises nearly swallowed whole by her pupils as she gazed at you hungrily. That look ignited something within you, feeling emboldened as you reached forward to undo her pants. Exploring each other in a way that was unfamiliar to you, her skilled fingers helping to guide you with ease.
After that, it was just your little secret, with no one being the wiser. Why would they? You were on the opposite ends of the food chain, fractured by the Hawkins High hierarchy. Leaving little glances across the cafeteria, brushes of your fingertips in the hallway as a secret reminder of what you two had. It didn’t hurt that you could sit in class, practice, or even the shower and think about how they’d brush against your breasts later.
Of course, you couldn’t help but wind her up whenever you could be overheard. As she would gladly put you in your place in private.
But you knew as she approached you on the field with that familiar glint in her eye— you were really in for it this time.
“What’s so funny?” Robin asked, removing her gloves. You let your eyes linger on her fingers for a moment as she gripped the leather. Quickly shifting your gaze elsewhere as you pressed your thighs together.
Something the blonde didn’t miss. Holding back a smug smile as she looked between the three of you.
“You’re just such a loser,” Carol snickered, snapping her gum between her teeth.
Heather joined in with a giggle. “Yeah, maybe you should look into joining the t-ball team. Seems like a much better fit for you.”
Heather knew she struck a nerve, pleased with herself as Robin’s jaw clenched in anger.
“Oh, yeah?” Robin said, ready to egg her on. “And what do you know, Holloway? I’d like to see you do something other than shake your ass at Billy Hargrove during games. Don’t you find it pathetic how desperate you are for his attention?”
“Oh, fuck you,” Heather snapped back. “As if you are getting any. No one even knows your name.”
“You’d be surprised,” Robin replied, her eyes shifting towards you as if on instinct. “You know, I don’t recall ever seeing this one with a guy.”
“You better get back to that pitch before you strike out, Buckley,” you bit back, shooting her a warning look. “Again.”
With a shake of her head, Robin glanced behind you at your “friends” before scoffing and turning. But not before she took her cleat and scuffed up dirt onto your shiny white sneakers.
“Oops.” She laughed, giving you one last look before walking away.
Not missing a beat, Heather turned to you with a bewildered expression. “You know her name?”
You raised an eyebrow. “It’s on her uniform.”
“Oh— right,” she murmured, the conversation quickly forgotten as they discussed their plans for the night: yet another kegger at the Harrington residence. It was something you definitely weren’t interested in attending.
Though they begged you to join them, you merely shrugged and told them to go without you. They didn’t even blink before heading off, their laughter fading as quickly as it started. But you soon found yourself lost in the chatter of the crowd and the roar of the umpire.
You decided to move up, leaning against the chain-link fence, pom-poms thrown to the dirt as you watched your girl stepping up to bat again. The score had been tied, this being Hawkins High’s last chance to win the game.
As always, Robin found you again. She gave you a wink before you heard the sharp crack of the bat. You gasped along with the crowd at the sight of the ball shooting through the sky and into the parking lot.
You couldn’t help the loud cheer erupting from your lips, clapping along with the crowd as she sprinted through each base with ease. And as she slid into home and was declared safe, her eyes met yours. They followed you as she picked herself up, sweat dripping as she removed her helmet. Shaking her dampened hair out with a wide grin.
There was no longer anything inside you that beckoned you to be malicious. You could feel a swell of pride inside you, wanting nothing more than to show her just how incredible she was. How much you cared about her…and you planned on it.
Her teammates were quick to surround her, lifting her up onto their shoulders as the crowd continued to cheer. Robin was clearly embarrassed by the sudden swarm of attention, her cheeks beautifully flushed as they carried her across the field. Soaking in the glory for a few more moments before they were called to line up, shaking hands with the opposing team.
But as everyone began to clear out, you noticed Beth Wildfire hanging back, laughing near the dugout with Robin. As you moved closer, you could make out the way Beth was checking out Robin’s ass as she bent over to grab her glove.
Robin lifted her head slightly, noticing you making your way over.
“Nice win, Buckley,” Beth said, popping in a piece of gum. “We should go out and celebrate.”
“Oh, yeah?” Robin asked, a devious smile on her lips as she rose. You couldn’t stop the jealousy beginning to surface. “You think we should invite the team?”
She was making you work for it, wasn’t she?
“Actually, I thought maybe you and I could—”
“Hey, Robin,” you said, directly in Beth’s line of sight now.
Beth gave you a look, clearly annoyed by your interruption.
Good.
“Hey,” Robin greeted. “What’s up?”
“You still need that ride?” you asked, clutching your pom poms tighter in your fists.
“I’d almost forgotten,” Robin replied smugly.
“Well, uh,” Beth said, taking a step closer to Robin. “I could always take her home after heading to Benny’s.”
“No, that’s alright,” you said curtly, faking a smile as you also took a step forward. “I think I’ve got it from here.”
You and Beth exchanged glances before her eyes widened, flickering between you and Robin who was only looking at you. Beth said nothing, opting instead to give you both a quick nod. But the clear disappointment on her face brought you more joy than you cared to admit.
“I’ll see you later, then,” she said. “Again, nice win, Buckley.”
Even as she walked away, Robin never broke eye contact. “Thanks, Beth,” she called out, a grin widening on her lips.
“Ready to go, mon chéri? I’m starving.”
Hook, line, and sinker.
Tumblr media
And that’s how you ended up here, your legs draped over Robin’s shoulders as her tongue circles over your clit. One hand buried in her hair and the other clutching onto the chain link fence behind you. Her blue hues never leave your face, taking in each and every reaction she pulls from you.
“You know, you’re pretty cute when you’re jealous.” She grins, flicking the tip of her tongue over your swollen clit. Enjoying the way your body twitches with every motion.
“I wasn’t jealous.”
You breathlessly try to deny it, but you both know you’re lying. Once again letting your pride get in the way, prompting Robin to remove her tongue from your center.
“No— Robbie, please,” you whine as she pulls away fully, resting her cheek against your inner thigh as she continues to slowly thrust her fingers inside you.
She revels in the way your walls grip tightly around the digits, almost as if you’re trying to keep them trapped inside. And as much as she loves feeling you, she loves making you beg even more.
So she slips her fingers out of your dripping cunt completely. Standing up to hover over you as she brings them to your lips.
“Please what, princess?” she taunts, her fingers now slipping into your mouth. Your tongue eagerly swirling around the digits until they’re devoid of any trace of you.
Robin removes them just as fast, trailing the saliva-coated digits down your jaw until they wrap around the base of your throat. “Answer me,” her harsh tone only further dampening the area between your thighs.
“Please don’t stop,” you plead without hesitation, rocking your hips up against her thigh. A look of desperation flitting across your features as you clutch onto her shoulders.
“Aww, you wanna cum, pretty thing?” Her tone is laced with condescension, finding yourself nodding almost frantically as you gaze up at her.
“I don’t know, baby… you were pretty mean earlier.” She paused, a small pout forming on your lips as she traced over them with her thumb. “You think you deserve it?”
You nod as if on instinct, whining as she pulls away from you completely. Rising to her feet once again, grabbing your hands and pulling you up off the bench. Your breasts press together as she whispers softly in your ear, “Prove it to me, then.”
You eagerly reach for the buttons on her uniform, tugging the zipper down. Impatiently yanking her pants down over the curve of her ass as you take back control.
“Sit,” you demand, resting your hands on her shoulders. Coaxing her to take your previous position on the worn bench.
“So bossy,” she teases, gripping your hips as you swing your leg over her thigh.
Taking a seat as you slip your fingers past the elastic of her underwear, moaning at the wetness you find there.
“This all for me?” you muse, your thumb brushing over her bundle of nerves with ease now. Having become quite familiar with every inch of her body over the last three months.
“I mean… Beth was looking good tonight—”
You cut her off with your mouth before she has a chance to finish her sentence. That surge of jealousy coursing through your veins as you kiss her deeply.
“She can’t have you,” you mumble against her mouth, before taking her lower lip between your teeth and tugging. “You're all mine.”
Robin curses softly as you begin to grind your hips against her thigh, slipping two fingers into her awaiting heat. Pumping them in tandem with each rock of your hips, as she mewls against your mouth.
“Please.” Now she's the one doing the begging, despite your hips continuing to grind down against her thigh. The mixture of her saliva and your juices making a mess on her bare skin.
You giggle softly as you increase the pressure on her clit with your thumb, burying your fingers deeper inside her. “Say it again.” She moans as you attach your lips to the base of her throat.
The blonde tilts her head back to expose more of her neck as you greedily suck on her flushed skin. A feeling of pride washes over you as you leave blotches of red and purple in your wake.
“You’re mine, Robin.” Your tone is overly possessive, enjoying how her body trembles beneath you. Your words being the thing to finally send her over the edge as she pulls your face back up to crash her lips against yours.
Her fingers dig harshly into the skin of your hips, encouraging you to keep grinding on her thigh. Lifting her leg to increase the pressure on your core. “That’s it… such a good girl.”
She pulls back slightly to watch you with hooded eyes, lips lifting in a genuine smile.
“My good girl.”
Her words elicit a bigger response than either of you expected, your thighs tightening around her own as you loudly cry out her name. Her hands continue to guide you along her thigh, working you through each wave of euphoria that crashes over you.
You’re both panting as you begin to come down from your highs, nuzzling your face in the crook of her neck. “Wow,” you breathe out, lightly tracing over the darkening love bites on her neck.
“Jeez, I think the whole town heard you,” Robin teases, running her fingers along your back.
“Well,” you start, pulling back to look at her. “I’m just trying to congratulate my girl on her big win.”
“Your girl?” she teases.
You bite your lip, trying to hide your smile. “Mhm.”
“Admit it,” Robin says, lifting her eyebrows, eyes tracing the lines of your face. “You were jealous.”
“Maybe I was,” you finally admit, earning an amused smile from her. “But I don’t think I have to worry about anyone else.”
“No?”
“Mm-mm.”
You press a quick kiss to the corner of her mouth before standing, helping her to her feet. Leaning back against the fence as she wiggles her pants back up over her hips.
Robin is still fastening the buttons as you walk out onto the field. Her eyes follow your figure as you reach the pitcher's mound. A fond look falls over her features as your eyes flutter shut, letting the last glow of the setting sun soak into your pores.
Feeling the weight of her stare, you turn back around. Flashing her a beaming smile as she finally reaches you on the field.
“So… Benny’s?” you ask, twisting your skirt back into place. “I’m actually starving now.”
Robin looks at you in utter disbelief as she places her hat back on her head, the brim facing the opposite direction. “Wait, you’re serious? What if someone sees us together?”
You can’t stop the giggle that leaves you, now closing the few feet separating you from her. Cupping her face in between your palms as you press another kiss to her lips.
Right in the middle of the open field.
“I told you,” you say, louder this time. “Let them see us. I don’t give a fuck anymore.”
You slip your hand into hers, lacing your fingers as you begin leading her towards your car. A sight to see, her bat and glove in her unoccupied hand. Your pom-poms in yours.
“You were still an asshole earlier, you know that?” Robin says.
As you share a laugh, you swing your intertwined hands back-and-forth. You’re practically skipping as you pull her along, light-hearted and winded.
“And you ruined my sneakers,” you counter. “Are you gonna clean them for me?”
“Only if you’re good, mon chéri.”
“I think I can manage that,” you reply as you venture further into the twilight. “At least for a little bit.”

i promise ❀ robin buckley
Tumblr media
❀ [but i watched your eyes as she walked by]
warnings: angst, angst, angst, y/n smoking
❀ robin buckley x fem!reader (she/her)
❀ part 2
your heart dropped as she walked in with her, looking much happier. you had to get away, your vision became blurry looking through your tears as they started falling one by one.
you were finally able to see her, and you’re just running away. as always.
well, she wasn’t really nice to you after all. but after all those arguments, all those hurtful words you still found her beautiful. in your eyes she will always be beautiful, even after she made you feel ugly.
but it wasn’t always like that, of course not.
as you made your way through the partying people, you grabbed a drink. ‘there’s always time for alcohol, isn’t it?’
you turned your head, searching for her. and there she was. looking even more attractive than a few moments ago.
you were searching for her when you felt someone behind you. you turned around only to be met by steve and eddie.
“looking for her, are you?” steve asked, smirking. you nodded your head as if it wasn’t obvious.
eddie pointed to the dance floor, and that’s when you saw her. robin — completely drunk, in another dimension, seductively dancing and still looking extremely beautiful.
you slowly made your way to her, smirking.
with a frown you shook your head, ‘yeah, not happening’, and you were convinced some more after you looked at her again and saw her making out with her.
quietly, you made your way to the roof, sipping from the bottle.
“give it to me!” she yelled at you, as you lit up your cigarette. you laughed, amused as you asked, “or what?”
“i hate cigarettes, i hate smoking, i hate the smell of it. for god’s sake, you even smell like cigarettes!”
“oh, so you hate it now. but you like it when you hang out with your favorite vickie! vickie is so perfect, right? good enough for you! you’re full of bullshit! you hate me!” you yelled back, getting more and more frustrated.
you were face to face with each other, breathing aggressively.
“yes!”
“what?”
well, what an irony. you saw vickie and robin smoking together a few minutes before.
“do i deserve this? endless suffering, pain in my chest…” you asked yourself as you looked up to the sky, “what did i do to deserve this? maybe yes, because i was angry, i was jealous and i was fucking smoking, i am fucking smoking. but at least i was happy. i was happy because i had her. i was seen and found, and i found her.
“i found you once, i promise i’ll find you again.”

Best Friend's Kisses (E.M.)
Summary: After seventeen long years of friendship Eddie decides to fulfill a ten year old promise. Something whispered in the middle of the night. He gives you the best gift of all.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Fem! reader, really only mentioned like two or three times
Mid-twenties Eddie and reader. Mechanic! Eddie
Warning: Slight smut at the end, talks of insecurity, making out, flirting, swearing, and melancholy reader. MINORS DNI!
AN: This is only my third fic on here. I'm still trying to understand the formatting.
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson had been your friend since you met him on the playground in third grade. He had defended you against some asshole kid who tried to take away your toy. Pushed him to the ground and yelled at him, you’d been inseparable since then. You saw each other through the awkward phases of becoming teenagers, watched him struggle through high school, and then eventually graduate.
Now you were both in your mid twenties, still having movie nights at the Munson’s every Friday after your shift at the record shop. You had a chance to leave, to go to college in New York but you turned it down. Not that you told Eddie, you didn’t want him to feel guilty. Truthfully you did stay for him, afraid that he might break without you but, did he really need you?
Eddie was an incredible sweetheart, making friends left and right with whoever would listen to him. It seemed like anyone that had a chance to really talk to him could see beyond the rumor around him. He was surrounded by people who loved him. Sometimes you regret staying, maybe you could’ve become something. Maybe you could’ve gotten a good degree, move your parents out of this shitty town but you were afraid.
The truth being you use Eddie as a crutch, you always had. Hiding behind him, gripping onto the back of his shirt as he yelled at another person for you, cleaning him up after he fought with a guy for groping you, Eddie was your protector in a sense. So you stay, stay in the shitty down you despise, wallow in self pity for being a fucking coward like you always are, and spending your days drinking or getting high with Eddie and his friends.
Today was a special day, Eddie had gotten a job at a mechanic shop. He always said that when he got his first paycheck he’d buy you something really special. He’d jump around from job to job until he found Earl. Earl was the only person who truly gave Eddie a chance.
“Honey, I’m home,” He jokes, walking into the trailer. Already expecting you to be lying on his bed when he comes home like you always are. He walks in shoulders hunched, face covered in grease stains, and hair knotted. “Gonna take a shower, then’ll be back. Got something exciting for you sweetheart,” He smiles, grabbing the pile of clothes you left on the foot of his bed ready for him. “Toodaloo,” he wags his fingers behind him as he exits the room.
Oh god what did he get you? Eddie had a reputation for going overboard, always saying he had to spoil his ‘princess’ because you were his longest friend. Always rambling about how you deserved the world for sticking by his side. Steve and Robin like to tease him, poking fun at your friendship. Always whispering, “you’ve never thought ‘bout it?” with their questioning gazes. It didn’t matter what either of you said, they never believed you. They could see the way the tips of your ears turned red or the way Eddie silently threatened Steve.
“I feel so much better,” He sighs, throwing himself next to you. He cuddles into the pillow, throwing the sheets over himself. “You forgetting something?” You laugh.
“Oh shit, sorry. M’tired,” He mumbles, eyes open wide. “Just go to sleep, Eds. You can give me whatever it is tomorrow,” You whisper. Trying to lull him back to sleep as you massage his scalp. “No, been waiting forever,” He murmurs, eyes blinking slowly. He must’ve been really tired for him to forget dinner. Eddie was never one to skip meals, always saying they were his favorite part of his day. You watch him sleep, he looks so peaceful with his eyes closed, his lips slightly parted. It isn’t until you hear the phone ring that you move your hand from his curls.
“Hello?” You whisper trying not to wake him up. “Oh hey! I was expecting Eddie,” Steve says on the line. “He got home and fell asleep immediately, I was just about to make dinner. What’s up?” You ask.
“You sound so domestic, like a housewife,” Steve chuckles.
“Yeah, yeah. Hardy har har.” You roll your eyes leaning against the wall.
“H-has he given you the present yet?” He asks out of nowhere.
“No, he just said he had something for me then fell asleep two seconds later. I don’t know what he did today but he skipped lunch. You know how unusual that is for him,” you say slightly concerned.
“It’s just… he loves you a lot you know?” Steve says, his voice sounding a little weird.
“Yeah and I love him too,” You reply quickly, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Just… keep that in mind, I’ll see you tomorrow,” He says.
“What wh-” He hangs up. What the fuck was that about? Of course you’d see Steve and the gang tomorrow, it was your weekly get together with the adults of the group but this felt weird. It almost felt like something monumental was supposed to happen today.
You try to shake away the feeling, looking through the fridge to see what they have. Cheese and tortillas, the ones you brought from home because you ‘accidentally’ bought two packs. You make quesadillas like you’ve made all your childhood, they were quick to make and easy for Eddie to eat while he’s half asleep. He had this miraculous way of waking up, eating, and forgetting that he even ate when he woke up.
“Eds… Teddie,” you whisper, gently shaking his shoulder until he groans. He gained the nickname after a long night of calling each other annoying nicknames, you saw your childhood teddy bear and instantly thought of Eddie. Just like it, he brought you comfort and he was also the person to give it to you. Claimed he won it in a claw machine for twenty five cents but you knew he had saved his money for weeks to buy it for you. You'd seen it at the store when your mom dragged you shopping for your sister's new clothes.
I know, I know, baby. Just eat and you can go back to sleep okay,” You whisper, sitting on the ledge of the bed next to him. He slowly blinks, turning toward you as he scratches his neck languidly.
“Come on, eat,” You show him the plate but he still blinks at you not understanding. So you feed him like a sick child, watching as he takes little bites and tilting his head forward when he needs a drink. “Go back to sleep,” You whisper, kissing him on the forehead as his eyes close again.
Steve was right, it all felt entirely domestic. You’d never treat him, Robin, or any of your other friends like this but Eddie, he was special. Your heart clenches at the idea, always longing for Eddie in a way you know is not possible. Always afraid you’d ruin your seventeen years of friendship, afraid you’d lose the one person who made you feel comfortable. You’d always cuddled with him, he was overly touchy with you to the point that everyone thought you were together. You were always off limits to the other guys in Hawkins, only ever catching the eye of passersby. You fall asleep, thinking about all the should haves and could haves.
The sun filters through the small crack in the curtains hitting you straight in the face. You look around the room, remembering you fell asleep next to Eddie. His arm is around your waist, head buried in your neck, hair tickling your nose. You try to stretch as much as you can while being basically pinned down by Eddie.
“Ten more minutes,” he mumbles, pulling you closer.
“You slept for sixteen hours already,” you snort.
“Not enough,” He nuzzles into your neck.
“You gotta stop that or I’m gonna piss myself,” You say, trying to pry his arm off of you.
“Do it, you wouldn’t dare,” He challenges.
“No I wouldn’t but seriously, I gotta go!” you say more urgently.
“Fine, but you jump right back in bed the minute you finish,” He bargains.
“It’s almost one o’clock, I am not staying in bed,” You protest, still pulling at his arm.
“Either way you still owe me a present,” You say.
“Oh shit, I forgot,” He says, finally letting you go. You run to the bathroom to take care of yourself, peeing and brushing your teeth. You’d had a toothbrush right next to Eddie’s since your first sleepover, he always took charge of changing it out every couple of months.
“So what’s the plan for today?” You ask, rummaging through his closet.
“Eat, present, meet Robin and Nance and 'em,” He says, standing up from the bed to join you. He picks up a pair of black jeans, his favorite because “they fit him the best and they make his ass look good,” according to Eddie. It was warm out, you could already tell by the heat in the trailer so he picks out a cutoff tee that shows off the sides of his ribs if he moves a certain way. He didn’t know this was your favorite shirt of his. He always looked so fucking hot with it on, his tattoos peaking through the side, his midriff exposed at the corner of your eye. Well if he was going to play that game you needed a better outfit, no band tee for you.
You search through your overnight bag for the black lacy cami top that usually leaves him speechless and a pair of shorts. He looks at the outfit in your hand and gulps.
“Great, I’m starving,” You wink at him as you walk by. What the fuck were you doing? What has gotten into you? He might’ve just been thirsty or something. There was no guarantee he even noticed what you grabbed or even cared. When you come out dressed you hear Wayne’s voice to the right of you talking to Eddie about his job.
“Good…afternoon!” You greet them.
“Finally decided to wake up I see,” Wayne says, eyebrow raised. He wasn’t judging you, he liked to tease but he knew how hard Eddie and you worked. He always treated you like a dad, more than your own father. He was protective and caring in his own way.
“Blame Teddie,” You nudge Eds in the ribs.
“You know I need my beauty rest,” He says, flicking his hair.
“Maybe you need to sleep longer,” Wayne’s eyes light up, teasing Eddie.
“Some sleep would do you good,” Eddie says, tone more serious. Wayne had been picking up more shifts lately, you had hardly seen him the last three weeks.
“I’m already as pretty as I’ll get,” Wayne grumbles, not liking Eddie’s concern.
“Weren’t y’all ‘bout to get food, c’mon get,” Wayne pushes you both out, slamming the door behind you two.
“He really is overworking himself,” You sigh as you climb into Eddie’s van.
“I know, that’s why I’ve been taking longer hours at the shop. Just want to take some burden off the old man,” He says, eyes focused on the road. You both sit in silence on the drive to Benny’s, thinking about how stuck you felt.
You wanted to help Wayne in any way you could but you still weren’t making enough money. You rented out a room from your parents because according to them the second you turn eighteen they weren’t supposed to help you anymore. Even if you wanted to leave you couldn’t afford the lease. You remember all those nights with Eddie, dreaming of the day you finally became adults so you could become independent.
“We’re here,” Eddie says, snapping his finger in front of your face.
“Fuck, you scared the shit out of me,” You jump, hand clutching your chest.
“What’s got you so spaced out?” Eddie asks, during the short walk into the diner and into your “designated” booth.
“Nothin’” you say, playing with the salt and pepper shakers.
“C’mon tell me what’s on your mind,” He pushes.
“I just wish I could do something to help Wayne out,” You sigh, not looking up at him.
“Me too,” He says, taking the pepper from your hand and playing with it. You didn’t expect the heavy atmosphere but thankfully it's broken when Doris comes over with your drinks. You always ordered the same thing, every week.
“Here’s your cola’s, just put in your order,” She smiles.
“Thank you!” you beam at the sugary beverage.
“There’s something magical in these sodas I swear,” You moan, as you gulp it down.
Eddie’s looking at you through his eyelashes, tongue swiping at his bottom lip.
“Yeah tastes pretty good,” He observes, voice deeper than normal and pupil’s slightly blown out. You make conversation over your pancake breakfasts, talking about shitty customers and bonding over telling them to fuck off. The tension from earlier is gone as Eddie promises he can scarf down his food in less than ten minutes.
“I never said you couldn’t do it, I just said it wasn’t worth the upset stomach I know you’re gonna have,” You say, walking toward his van.
“Well it was worth it,” He gives you a toothy smile.
“Now for the big event,” He says, as you both get in the van.
“Big event?” You question.
“Got you a surprise, something I promised you a long time ago,” He says, staring into your eyes. There’s something there you don’t recognize, his gaze looking different. You wrack your brain trying to decipher his riddle. What did he promise you? He had made so many promises over the years, pinkies intertwining each other as Gareth made fun of your childish ways.
“Okay…” You look at him suspiciously.
“But, I’m gonna need to blindfold you,” He says, eyes full of mischief.
“Ooh kinky,” you wag your eyebrows at him. His eyes slightly widen before he snaps out of it and grabs a scrap of fabric from his door.
“Turn around for me sweetheart,” He mumbles. You can’t help but slightly shake as he places the opaque fabric over your eyes, his hand brushing the back of your head as he knots it in place. The entire act felt all too intimate, your heavy breaths in the silent van weren’t helping either.
“Can you see anything?” He asks, presumably waving a hand in your face as you turn to sit straight.
“Nothing, scouts honor,” You say, raising two fingers.
“You weren’t even in the scouts,” He laughs, turning the key in the ignition. You don’t know what direction you’re heading in.
“Oh my god are you gonna murder me? Been playing the long con? Get me comfortable so I go without protest,” You tease.
“Oh yeah, gonna chop you up in the forest in the name of satan,” He says dramatically.
“Sounds ‘bout right,” You laugh, as he pulls to a stop.
“We’re here, just give me a second” He says, opening the door and rounding the car to open yours less than a second later.
“Wrap your arms around my neck princess,” He says, carrying you out of the van and placing you on your feet.
“Woah,” You grab onto his arm as the dizziness sets in.
“You alright?” He asks, concerned laced in his voice.
“Yeah just give me a second. M’dizzy” You say, gripping harder onto his bicep.
“Take your time,” He says.
“I’m ready,” You say after a minute. “Okay, just follow my voice. It’s a trust exercise,” you can hear the smile in his voice as he leads you. “There’s like three steps, just take ‘em slow. Here’s the first one,” He says, stopping so you can get your footing. He leads you up the last two, “Before you take your blindfold off… just, I don’t know. J-just I don’t even know how to explain it,” He says, voice full of nervousness.
“Eds, I feel like I've been blindfolded for an hour. If this is another prank I will fucking kill you,” You threaten.
“Not a joke, promise,” He says, “Ready?”
“Been ready,” You answer. He takes your hand putting something cold in it and leaning over your shoulder to see the knot. You blink at the sudden light, trying to grab your bearings.
“W-what?” You asked confused. He’d placed a key in your hand, you were standing in front of a house.
“We always promised we’d move out together, it was time for me to bank it in,” He smiles.
“Wait, what?” You still couldn’t believe it. It had to be some sort of joke, he probably found this key on the floor.
“C’mon open the door,” He nods his head in the direction of the lock.
“You’re serious?” You ask, eyes wide in shock.
“As a heart attack. C’mon! I’ve been waiting for months to show you it,” He says, pressing you to open the lock. Your hands shake as you approach the door, the key surprisingly sliding in and turning. Oh no he wasn’t lying, this wasn’t an epic prank. You open the door to an empty living room, his hand guiding you inside.
“I haven’t picked out the furniture yet, thought you’d want to do it together,” He stammers, as you silently scan over the room. It was nice, the entrance opened to the living room, to the left was an open floor plan kitchen, and to the right a bedroom.
“T-together?” You stutter. You were speechless.
“I know how much you hate living at your folks home and you know we made that promise that we’d move out together when we had the money,” He says scratching the back of his neck. He was nervous at your lack of response, did you hate the house? Maybe he should have consulted you first.
“So you and me, living together?” You question, taking in every single detail.
“Yes, just you and me. Maybe Wayne but I doubt he’ll leave the trailer. He’ll finally have a bedroom again though,” He trails off.
“Holy shit, this is for real?” You ask again, walking around the living room toward the kitchen.
“Oh my god how many times do I have to say yes. Did I tie that blindfold too tight? Not enough oxygen in your brain” he chuckles at his joke. You jump into his arms, legs straddling his waist. You hold onto him like a monkey as he grabs your thighs.
“This is the best present ever! Holy shit, Eddie,” You say hugging him close.
“Least I can do for your long years of serving me loyally,” He laughs, walking deeper into the house. You slide down his body as he pulls you through, giving you the grand tour. The house had three bedrooms total, apparently he got an insane deal on the property. Someone from the shop got a huge opportunity in Indianapolis and was trying to get rid of it. They passed down the title to Eddie instead of going through a broker.
“Now this, I think may be your favorite part,” He says, pulling you toward the back door. Your hands entwined, which was not unusual for you both. He opens the door to a beautiful garden, the previous owners must’ve loved this place. It was full of flowers and fruit trees.
“There’s a perfect shady spot to read your books, we could put a table out there and have breakfast together,” He says.
“Holy shit Eddie, it’s perfect,” You say, pulling him in for another hug. He’s bent at an awkward angle to meet your height. Without thinking you peck him on the lips before letting him go and walking down the steps to the garden. You look back at him still frozen in that weird position.
“What’s wrong?” You ask oblivious to what you had just done.
“D-did you just kiss me?” He asks, running down the stairs to meet you halfway down the yard.
“T-that was-” You stutter, realizing what happened. He towers over you, hand tilting your face upward as he kisses you again.
“This okay?” he mumbles into your lips. You move your hands to his shoulders, nails digging into the skin. “Mhm,” You agree, trying to pull him closer. His tongue swipes against your bottom lip with a groan, his kisses becoming more desperate. You open your mouth inviting him in, his tongue mapping out your mouth as you moan. “F-fuck,” You breathe out as he pulls away, kissing down your neck. You’d never been touched like this by Eddie, his hands running all over you anguished for a piece of skin to grab onto. He leans his forehead against yours, as you both catch your breath, his hands under your shirt on your hips.
“W-what was that,” You stammer.
“Been wanting to do that since middle school,” His breath ghosts over your face as he leans back to look at you, skin flushed and chest rising rapidly.
“Since fourth grade,” You laugh, throwing your arms around his neck to pull him down to your level.
“That long?” He says incredulously.
“You were my first crush,” You admit, face flushing at the confession.
“You were mine!” He says, voice raising in astonishment.
“So we could’ve been doing that for fuckin’ years?” He says more to himself than you.
“Guess so,” You shrug your shoulders.
“No wonder everyone thought we were dating. You made the goo goo eyes at me I made the goo goo eyes at you,” He laughs.
“That was your fault! You always had an arm around my shoulder or were holding my hand. Anyone would’ve thought we were together!” You reply.
“As if you didn’t love it. Don’t think I didn’t see the way you look at me when I wear this shirt,” He teases.
“So you admit you did it on purpose?” You ask, smacking his chest.
“Course gotta make you all nervous,” He pecks you on the lips.
“Well don’t think I don’t notice all the times you stare at my boobs especially when I wear this,” You motion to your outfit.
“I fucking knew it! You’re a temptress y’know that?” He growls, pulling you in for another kiss.
“Anyway, I was always touching you because I didn’t want anyone hanging around my girl,” He mumbles at his admission, neck and cheeks flushed.
“Your girl?” You question, eyebrow raised.
“Always have been, always will be,” He reveals.
“You don’t know how many girls I had to fight off,” You chuckle.
“No way! I had to fight off half the town. You don’t even know how many fist fights I got into because of you,” he says.
“Girls are a lot more vicious. You know there was always a rumor going around about you,” You divulge.
“Oh yeah?” He motions for you to go on. “Always heard you had a big dick,” You reveal before hiding in his chest. You feel his chest vibrate as he laughs, “Wouldn’t you like to know?” He teases.
“Yes I would,” You say, gaining confidence. You look up at him, the way his chocolate brown eyes are swallowed by his pupils. He pulls you in for another kiss, this one faster and more aggressive, it almost felt primal.
“Finally!” Robin cheers from the door, Eddie groans at the sound. He forgot he called them while you were changing. Steve, Robin, and Nancy scramble down the stairs giving you both congratulations. Gareth, Jeff, and, Grant arriving a few minutes later. Eddie’s annoyance dies down when he sees your face loving the way you laugh around your friends. You spend the rest of the afternoon drinking and eating take out with them. Nancy had brought a board game, this felt like home. Having them all here, Eddie's arm wrapped around you as he kisses your temple. You were finally home.
Eddie was finally yours and you were finally his. All your internal struggles and insecurities paid off. You had won the big prize at the fair! You spend the night on a blow up mattress with Eddie, eventually popping it because he has no control. After years of waiting you both felt more than desperate, clawing at each other's clothes.
“Shit- shit shit! M’close,” You moan.
“Fuck me too!” his eyes roll to the back of his head, thrusting in and out at a brutal pace.
“Say you’re mine, wanna hear it,” He begs.
“M’yours, always yours,” You claw at his back. “Yes yes yes yes,” He rambles until you’re both seeing stars. He pulls out of you, pulling you to his sweaty chest.
“This has to be a dream,” He exhales, staring at the ceiling. You kiss his chest in response. It was all too real. Your dreams had become reality. You finally had Eddie in your arms. You were his and he was yours just like you both promised when you were children.
