“Please. I’m begging you. Don't make me do this,” Jean said from the floor, his limbs stretched out in every direction so that he resembled a starfish.  “Come on. One more. I believe in you,” Jeremy said, bent over Jean’s head and staring directly into his soul.  “I cannot watch another movie musical. Every time I see a film about the American school system my concern for your sanity grows. The fact that there’s two of them is atrocious.”

“Oh don't worry,” Jeremy said, his grin wicked, “there are other ones out there that are even better. Consider it preparation for meeting my family.”

Jean glared up at Jeremy.

“These last two were for my sister. And also most of the team. Almost everyone on the team knows every song by heart. This next one isn't even about the same characters. It’s my parents’ favorite, though.”

Jean crossed his arms over his chest.

“Please? Think about it, my parents will be so impressed if you know all these songs,” Jeremy said, reaching out and poking the tip of Jean’s nose.

Jean groaned again. “Why does it matter if your family likes me or not?”

Jeremy flushed and straightened himself up before sitting down next to Jean. “Because they’re my family, and you’re my friend. I want them to see how amazing you are, but I know that it can be hard to talk with new people. So now you know you have something you can talk about with them.”Jean stared at the rambling mess of a human next to him. It was almost impossible to comprehend that the Jeremy in front of him at that moment, mumbling and fidgety and awkward, was the same person he’d seen announce his transfer on live television while preening for the camera. He’d always seen Jeremy Knox exactly as Jeremy wanted to be seen: pristine and charming. But it’s impossible to keep up that facade forever. Sometimes a mask like that was the heaviest burden on someone. He’d seen it before, in Kevin and Riko.

Ok so--Drew is no longer in prison!! Wow!! Ok!! I'm mad!!!

These past few months has done nothing but try and fail to paint Drew as someone you're supposed to be sad over. All of his scenes in the hospital do nothing but say "Look how beaten up he is!! Look how sad he is, he doesn't deserve this!! Nina is pure EVIL for doing this to him and Carly!!!!!"

But here's the problem that always comes around when dealing with this whole SEC storyline--Drew and Carly are guilty.

They did the insider trading. Sure you could probably argue they did it accidentally, but it still happened. Nina threw the SEC at them for likely selfish reasons, yes. She was enraged after the 32nd verbal spat with Carly, and was sick of Carly avoiding actual consequences like always. But it wasn't like Nina was framing her and Drew for something they didn't commit.

Oh, but the show can't just have Carly and Drew be the bad guys here! That's impossible! So here's how upset and scared they are at suffering the consequences of their actions. Here's how many people are saying that Drew was a hero during the Greenland Arc, when he fucking WASN'T! He was the most useless member of the whole group! Even Valentin, as he was crying, coughing up blood and hallucinating, did something. But nope, here's Michael screaming at Nina about how "Drew the Heroic Guy saved your daughter, and you got him arrested!!" and is now gonna control her decisions when it comes to his family because Michael fucking Corinthos III can't be more of a pathetic, spineless little man than he already fucking is.

And the worst part of all of this--This just proved Nina right.

The whole reason Nina snapped and did this whole SEC nonsense was because it seemed like the universe the narrative kept protecting Carly and Drew from karma whenever they did wrong. But whenever Nina so much as breathed, she got nothing but threats and rage hurled her way (Hell, before Drew showed up, Carly joked about drowning Nina's head in the Bobbing for Apples game, you know, as a hero would do!). Carly getting 5 million dollars of debt to resolve and Drew getting imprisoned felt like a breath of fresh air, because yeah, they were always getting away with it.

But now Drew's out. Drew and Carly are gonna have their happily ever after whilst Nina gets ripped to shreds by all of Port Charles for the cardinal sin of--reporting a crime. Just proving Nina and us right--Drew and Carly will do whatever they want and keep getting away with it.

Fuck this show.

He dug his nails into his arms, knowing there would be bruises there the next day. "My status was the only thing that changed. I was unofficial, then I was official. I think it made the Ravens I was paired with pity me less. Coach Moriyama also became far more involved in dealing out my punishments himself."

"So the kind of life that Ravens led was how you were raised?"

Secret is the one who invites Lobo to join Young Justice. The rest of the team is put off by his violent, crass behavior, but she is convinced that he's "really interesting," and she eagerly introduces him to the others.

A reckless choice, chalked up by the others to her having spent too much time around Impulse recently, but it's characteristic of her openness to befriending just about anyone (often to a fault), and it will ultimately win her perhaps her most valuable friend of all.

Lobo in turn is not bothered by her at all. Even her friends have been disturbed by her after experiencing her abyss, but Lobo is impressed by her connection to death. "Now her I like!" he exclaims.

He will go on to die, a casualty of war, but even that doesn't keep him off the team, technically. He is reborn as a clone who retains Lobo's memories but develops a distinctive personality of his own. And Secret is the one who inadvertently gives this new Lobo his name; he mishears her saying "So Lobo..." as "Slo-bo" and accepts that as his new name.

Like Lobo, Slo-bo is undisturbed by her connection to death. He is one of the few to have no adverse reaction to her abyss, something Tim comments on.

Slo-bo anticipates his own death, accepts it, and thus has no fear of facing his own mortality in the abyss. With their mutual connection to death, he can meet Secret in a place (metaphorically) that not everyone else is willing to go.

He's the only one of the team who is on board with her scheme of breaking her dad out of jail. Is this the right decision? No. The outcome is ultimately detrimental to everyone. But there's significance in Slo-bo's being the only one of the team to make an effort to understand where she's coming from instead of dismissing her outright. She has embraced his chaos in the past, and he is doing the same for her.

When Darkseid shows up to claim her, Slo-bo is ready to fight him to protect her. Despite the brainwashing, Secret still considers Slo-bo her friend and recognizes that he is trying to help, and she pleads for his life--and saves him. For now.

Slo-bo gets thrown off the team for his part in aiding Secret in the jailbreak that lead to this disaster, but he has some choice words for Cassie and the other girls about how the team failed Secret. He argues for showing her compassion rather than letting their discomfort with her connection to death (something she never chose and cannot help) make her feel like an outsider and a problem rather than a friend. It's a surprising level of insight from him, a truth the others aren't willing to face.

When the rest of the team is fighting Secret once she returns to Earth as the vengeful pawn of Darkseid, Slo-bo does not attack her. The most he does is tell her that they can't let her absorb everyone on earth into the abyss for Darkseid to sift through. Although he's completely blind and dying at this point, he comes to her defense against Darkseid again--and is killed on the spot.

And the last we see of her in this series, she is mourning his loss.

Because Greta makes an unlikely friend and accepts him into the team when the others are more skeptical, she gains from him a respect that lingers with his clone after his death. That clone will go on to have compassion for Greta when no one else is willing to work past their own fears toward her, and he will give his life trying to protect her.

Slo-bo's closest bond is probably with Anita, with whom he is his most vulnerable, but he's also the closest thing Greta has to someone on the team who is proactively invested in her well-being, because he can see a side of her that not everyone else can. Like him, she is "a strange and off-putting little creature." But that's no reason for her not to be deserving of the help she so badly needs.
