I just saw a clip of phil saying goodbye to tallulah incase when he comes back she wont be here anymore and im suddenly reminded that these eggs are always in mortal peril, the island hates them, the code wants them dead, the federation does not care and everyone is trying their damndest to keep them alive but they are oh so so fragile they break so easily. even if you equip them with the strongest armour the most deadly of swords, they are still up against an insurmountable foe that no one has a clear understanding of, with no known way of deafeating it. everywhere is danger and the likelihood of them dying at any given time is always always possible.
Ive gotten so used to them just hanging about and enjoying their lives and being kids and spending time with their parents and their tios and tias and family because the code hasnt come for a while so that clip really just brought me back to the reality that this is all so fragile and can break at any moment and that tallulah or chayanne or richas or any of the eggs can die the next day and theres nothing that can be done about it and its just so so ssos osejjeeujswkjeje

Good Omens fanfiction - Immersive Metafiction crossover
Exploring some deeper themes in both stories on sadness, along with personal experiences.
Except from The Neverending Archive:
"If we’ve already crossed the canyon, I’m pretty sure what lies beyond are the Swamps of Sadness.”
“Sounds cheery,” Crowley says with a smirk.
“Quite.” Aziraphale reads a little further. “It seems the trick to getting through the Swamps of Sadness, is to not let the sadness overcome you. It’s like quicksand, you see.”
Crowley eyes the swamps with a measure more scrutiny. “Right.”
They both look forward at the many thick and uninviting bogs ahead, and in unison, they look back behind them at the canyon below. Without their wings, or their miracles, forward is literally the only option.
“Right,” Crowley says again. “Shall we?” He forces a grin, that does anything but reassure Aziraphale...
From "The Neverending Archive" rated G, no archive warnings apply, 19k words and finished
From a reader:
"~~~We’re in a magic land, with weird sounding names like the Swamp of Sadness. Maybe just over the hill is the Forest of Expensive Italian Loafers where I can get a new pair.” ~~~
This cracked me up
I liked how the swamp stands for depression in your version even more realistic than in the original, as you show both sides, the side of the friend who throws the rope and that’s all he can do, and the side of the drowning who can’t grip the rope. I felt things, there. Very much so." - @naturallyteal
TW: Swamps of Sadness are sad, but also it's the Swamps of It's Ok To Be Sad

You know what they say... You can lead a horse to the Swamps of Sadness but you can't keep it from dying.

unfortunate that there is something fundamentally Wrong with me because sometimes I really would like to be loved and cared for

the cherry on top of the lancelot + arrow in ass thing is the way he just kept travelling with the arrow in his ass cause he couldn't properly ride a horse so he had to wait till other people took the arrow out for him 💀

“I am Death, Straight Up” this and blah blah Super Cool, Big Bad Wolf that, but I’ll admit his concept did seem Oddly/Obscurely Familiar
I mean he is a good Character overall and Absolutely Perfect for bringing trauma to this generation; But if you’re older than YouTube then you probably grew up with this thing:
I mean sure, he can’t Whistle, but they’re otherwise pretty equal competitors - one’s the Grim Reaper, and the other’s the Harbinger of The Nothing etc.
But then again, which is worse - having your ass handed to you by a Cat, or getting stabbed by a Child with a stick after 10 mins of screen time
