【VIDEO】 Concerning Father H. Zemo & Sergeant J. B. Barnes (1943)

Did someone say priest kink?

This is an idea I've had for a winterbaron WWII Priest AU for a while, but I wasn't honestly sure what I was going to do.

The clips sort of built the story as I went, creating their own narrative with how I was limited by the available snippets. Also on AO3: ( x )

Basic story after the cut

Zemo, the new chaplain, arrives for the 107th Infantry Regiment.

He also does some medic duties, which was normal for them in WW2.

Bucky is like "Huh, he's unexpectedly young and hot".

They bond a little.

Zemo has SOME LUSTFUL THOUGHTS about him. He fantasizes constantly but dismisses it.

He resists, but one day Bucky is injured and brought to the field hospital.

Bucky is like "Am... am I dying? Are you here to do the last rites? Man, I'm not even Catholic".

And Zemo is like, "No, I'm here to take care of you."

and Bucky's like "TAKE CARE OF ME, HUH?"

Anyways, they fuck in the medical tent that night.

They begin an on-again, off-again secret relationship where Zemo is CONSTANTLY breaking it off, out of religious guilt.

Bucky usually agrees it's for the best because they don't want to get a Section 8 blue discharge (what happened to LGBTQ+ people in the army at that time) but he's also very angsty about it every time.

They both keep giving in, always come back for more.

They fool around in fields near missions, in the showers after everyone's left, while all the others are downstairs in the bar.

Anywhere they can get the time and privacy.

Finally at one point, Zemo REALLY ends it.

He's certain he's sinning far too much, and his soul will be damned, and he'll also damn Bucky's soul as well.

Zemo actually asks for a transfer to another unit, and breaks it off. Bucky is heartbroken again.

There's an attack after Zemo leaves, and Bucky believes Zemo died, and spirals.

Zemo is actually fine, and staying with another unit, and taking the time to pray and repent in the church nearby, but he's in agony.

He misses Bucky.

Bucky finds out Zemo lived. He takes off from his assignment, against orders, and travels to the church where Zemo's unit is staying.

Zemo didn't even realize Bucky thought he was dead, and is taken aback by him showing up. He had assumed that Bucky would simply get over him, and it was better this way. Bucky actually showing up throws a wrench into his own plans to move on.

Bucky gives him an emotional speech about how much he loves him. He tells Zemo not to worry about his immortal soul, but if he's so concerned, maybe he can scold him privately.

Zemo can't resist his words, and they make love in a confession booth.

Zemo gets up that night, and wanders through the church to sit alone.

Bucky gets up to confront him.

He gives Zemo a speech about how if he doesn't want God to see what he is, he can stifle that part of himself, but he'll always regret it.

THE END

(in my mind, they run away together, and the war ends and they live happily ever after)

top four albums lately... with a challenge that I added for myself... HMM!!!

I'll try to put in albums i never mentioned on here, that's the challenge!

...oh dear.

Metropolis: The Chase Suite (Special Edition) by Janelle Monae: I was aware of Monae's existence, but the first song I really paid attention to was Mushrooms & Roses. It was played in a certain Austrian fast food and I immediately loved the piece and thought I'd better listen to it without crowd noises. I added it to my playlist and that was it for a while. Then the following year (meaning, this year, right now), we got a class on Black Arts and had to do presentations. Ours is on Afrofuturism... and during my preliminary research, I found that she was linked to it. And I also recognized them as part of the cast for Glass Onion -a movie I heavily recommend. A queer artist? I had to delve into her production. So I listened to her first studio album, The ArchAndroid. I really liked it, one of the tracks (which is a reversed bit from her first EP) led me to listen to The Chase and I immediately fell in love with it. The album is short (26:13) so I recommend giving it a full listen, but otherwise, you should at least check out the Violet Stars Happy Hunting!!!/Many Moons diptych.

Halo by Hoops: The album was supposed to be released in 2020 for the band's return, but questionable stuff happened ("questionable" as in "I don't want to delve into this but you're free to Google this") and they disbanded. So technically, the album is only available as a leak. I initially only heard They Say, but the whole album keeps this shoegazy, low-fi, vaporwave, chill music. I think I heard that song in a store about two years ago, but I only just (an hour before finally making this post) listened to its corresponding album, and it's a real treat.

The Gone Girl soundtrack by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross: It wouldn't be right if no soundtrack made the cut, now, would it? My immediate favorite aspect of the movie was its score. It's electronic, but in a chill way. The melodies are muffled, the constant parasite sounds contribute to the delicate eeriness of the atmosphere, and yet it's a delightful album I regularly come back to. The movie is naturally also a favorite of mine. Recommended: Sugar Storm, Empty Places, Just Like You, Background Noise, The Way He Looks At Me, Technically, Missing. You should actually listen to the whole album (or at least its first two thirds) as it works very cohesively, but I think the above pieces form the core of the album.

Back in Business by Eartha Kitt: For some people, Eartha Kitt was Catwoman (meow!). For other people, Eartha Kitt was Yzma - and that includes me. She actually had a song for The Emperor's New Groove, and it's a banger! So one day, I decided to give her discography a listen. Immediately enjoyed BiB. It's the kind of album you listen to in the evening, in the lounge of your spacious flat, as the window lets the summer air fill your place. I heavily recommend listening to Moon River, as well as maybe Speak Low if you want another track. But naturally, you can't discover Eartha Kitt without listening to *the* track that fueled everybody on the dancefloor, forty years ago.

About: Sort of a character/relationship study that takes place over several years. Started as a cracky 5+1 things idea and... exploded into something much more expansive. The original premise: "Five times Obi-Wan kept Anakin warm, and one time Anakin returned the favor." It's still following this format, for the most part, as it's given me an outline to adhere to and an end goal.

Comment: This is still a work in progress, but I think it's already my favorite. Star Wars was one of my childhood obsessions and I'm enjoying reliving that nostalgia as an adult. Character-driven stories featuring personal growth and development have always fascinated me, and I love doing deep POV dives, so I'm having a ton of fun with it. It's given me back the motivation I'd been sorely lacking this year, and the response has honestly blown me away.

Beg Pretty for Me

Relationship: Castiel/Dean Winchester

About: A smutty Dom/sub post-canon fix-it with lots of feelings. Dean saved Cas from the empty, they admitted their love for each other, and now everyone is one big happy family. Cue some raunchy "I'm on a mission and I miss you" phone sex!

Comment: I started this before the series finale both for personal reasons and for the fandom at large, because we can never have too many happy endings for these boys. It's what they deserved. And maybe I just wanted Cas to live and Dean to feel pretty and cherished and loved.

Fixing a Hole, Building a Bridge

Fandom: Dragon Age Origins

Relationship: Alistair/Morrigan

About: This is a short hurt/comfort piece wherein Alistair is injured and Morrigan takes care of him. And then repressed feelings spill out.

Comment: I originally wrote this for a Valentine's day prompt challenge, though it's been edited and added to since then because upon rereading I got inspired. Their banter is some of my favorite in the game and I love complex relationship dynamics, so this was a blast to write. Over time it's become one of my favs.

One September Morning

Relationship: Castiel/Dean Winchester

About: Modern (No Monsters) AU where mechanic Dean falls in love with the new cashier working the counter at the gas station next to his auto shop. Alas, in true Dean fashion, it takes a full-on personal crisis for him to finally realize it.

Comment: This was my first exchange fic in the SPN fandom so I was nervous as fuck about it. But it ended up being a ton of fun. Super fluffy and sweet, despite some mild Dean-angst. And again, a happy ending, like they deserve. @dustyl turned it into a fantastic podfic too! Check it out here.💙💚

Colonel Zemo of the Imperial Army is assigned to track down a rebel known only as "The Winter Soldier".

A game of cat and mouse becomes more, as Zemo realizes James may hold the key to both leaving the Empire and saving millions of lives.

Zemo joined the Imperial army young. He was from a military family on the planet of Sokovia.

He had some misgivings, but he was blind to the true horror of the Empire.

When Sokovia was destroyed due to the Emperors callous cruelty, it was the first time Zemo really realized what was happening. His whole life became a quest for revenge, to work his way up in the ranks and take down the Empire.

Bucky was living on Ord Mantell, doing odd jobs to keep a roof over his head. He lost an arm in the Clone Wars, and he’s done with fighting.

The rebellion was the last thing on his mind.

When a man named Sam and his droid Redwing showed up, he enlisted Bucky’s help.

And so began Bucky’s life as a rebel.

He became known as The Winter Soldier.

He, Sam and Redwing took out Imperial base after base.

But one day he slipped… and the Empire is now one step behind him.

But he has no idea the Imperial officer tasked with finding him is doing it with the same anti-imperial goals as himself.

And when Zemo finally catches up to him, Bucky certainly isn’t expected to be charmed by the Sokovian.
