The parallels between the two as the commanding officers and having a lot of the same reactions to things in game such as being the most sceptical, being initially responsible for things going south, often suffering similar fates(Death has his favourites and it's not them) the idea of the two getting together is one of overcoming their issues and finding happiness in unexpected places(think of it as the "commanding officers jalim" that's in a different stage of life). Yes there's a lot of fanon on Dar's part such as him being a widower and the pair finding love again but why not? It's such an interesting concept and fun to work with
