Season of The Haunted or, as I like to call it, Season of Caiatl's Family Issues. We have: Calus (no explanation needed), a phantom of her adoptive brothera (who she litteraly watched explode), her boyfriend reliving his trauma and his weird kid, about to do something stupid and dangerous

I have literally not opened Destiny since Sunday evening so this ask is so funny lmao

(I'll admit, in that one promo graphic I saw with Zavala and Caialt in defensive positions and Crow in between them looks like a photo of 'We filed out adoption papers but shit hit the fan on our way back from the courthouse'.)

allow me to talk about Bazzle Torelli 🙏

Not only is he one of the original 7 Destiny OCs I created (I know I have a problem) but he's also clan leader of The Chasers

He's an older Guardian who's been around since the Dark Age. He joined the Pilgrim Guard and remained with them until they disbanded. He's also the fireteam leader of Rae and Kaedro, though he doesn't go out into the field as much as he used to due to other responsibilities

Bazzle generally operates by the book and isn't given to allowing his emotions to govern him (aside from a certain instance where he punched Harley)

While Harley was the one who ultimately formed the clan, he ceded leadership to Bazzle because he wasn't comfortable with the role

After the Red War, Bazzle was promoted to a Deputy Commander position and became the head instructor for training new Guardians in the Tower (hence why he doesn't go out into the field aside from special assignments, such as the one to stop Harley from hunting Uldren and the Scorned Barons on the Reef)

His Ghost's name is Sway. She shares his somewhat parental attitude toward newer Guardians and often helps him deal with the endless paperwork demanded by his position

When fighting, he uses Void Light and often fights defensively (prefers Ward of Dawn to the other Sentinel abilities)

While on vacation I learned how to tie my hair up using a hair needle or any kind of long thin object like chopsticks!

I haven't gotten much use out of it since coming back cause autumn came in rather quickly and I don't really have to tie my hair up to avoid trapping heat anymore.

Bit sad.

She's a turtleneck & hot cocoa person. Dark and a bit bitter, but perfect with marshmallows! The cocoa, not the person. I'm sorry it's 2 am

I wouldn't say she does. She is very hopeful, though, and has this very Hunter certainty of "I'm gonna make the jump!" until she either does or plummets down the cliff inches from reaching the other side. Despite how quiet and cautious she appears in interpersonal contacts, in combat she can be very brash and careless.

🌌 what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Hehe, I made my first D2 Guardian and needed to mould them into a character! I don't remember what was the very first thing I decided about her, but one of the initial tenets has definitely been that she doesn't really tell her name to anyone. It's her own personal philosophy, the "am I more than my name?" "am I what someone else tells me I am, or what I deem myself that I am?" "what am I?" born from, yknow, having been raised without memories or purpose. It's an *arc* (one I'm not sure how good/bad a job I do showcasing), her relationship with her name mirroring her hunt for purpose and the relationship with herself. It's very personal a matter for her.

🌹 do they like valentines day crimson days? have they been confessed to before? have they confessed to anyone before?

As she spent her first few decades of Light-bound life trying to survive in a Venusian wilderness, she did not have many dating opportunities lol. Her thing with the Drifter has been so elusive for so long that when they finally somehow agreed that they do have a thing going on none of them was quite certain who'd started it.

As for the crimson days, she doesn't have strong opinions about it. They're fine, because hey, chocolates and stuff, but also whatever it is you do then she surmises they could do any other day, so.

🚆 what is their answer to the trolley problem?

Throwing herself under the trolley to stop it with her own body. She's being absolutely serious.

❄️ do people consider them cold? if so, what made them this way?

I don't think many do, but she can come across as distant and indifferent with how little she speaks unless she really knows someone. Several decades in the forest with only a Ghost to keep her company had taken their toll--when she got to the Tower she was practically not speaking at all--but as years pass she is acclimating, and with how much diplomacy her tasks have suddenly grown to include she's getting better and better at communicating.

🌩️ are they scared of lightning?

She's an Arc hunter, so nope! :P

💧 random angst headcanon

Her own Sever mission would be called Regret, and the Nightmares she fought on the Leviathan included Eramis and Rhulk. It was all about coming to terms with the fact she sometimes simply can't resolve issues peacefully and/or bloodlessly, and however much she regrets what she had to do, neither can she change the past.

☁️ a soft headcanon

She found herself an accidental caretaker of a five years old child during the Almighty crisis. (I like to think the City was evacuated then, because I doubt Zavala would risk it even with Rasputin expected to blow up the ship.) They've been keeping in touch afterwards, and Ór has been teaching her fun stuff like knife throwing or basic Eliksni.

This line is from my Destiny fic about a murder victim coming back as a Guardian (which I will resume working on soon as my other long-term project recently came to an end)

They pulled open the door — already thinking of the rant Rae was probably going to give them when they got back — and recoiled in surprise. They weren’t alone.

Current Obsession: Destiny continues its streak and I snagged the D1 collection on sale, so I’m playing through that for the first time. I’m starting to veer towards tabletop games, though, and the inherent moddability they have. I also want to check out Lancer, partly to study a tabletop game that isn’t DnD, but mostly because of Vexwerewolf’s excellent shitposts

Also, I’ve become weirdly obsessed with the Duskrender type 0 helm from D1. I think it just looks really neat.
