Did you know Dragonfruit are easy to start from seed, taken straight from the fruit?
Tumblr media
[ID: two images, both showing the same black fabric grow bag filled partially with soil from different angles, which has bright green, small and skinny Dragonfruit cactus seedlings growing in it, each about the width of a pencil, with the camera focused on a cactus that has started to branch out at the top into four branches, all covered in bright white spines which are currently still soft. End ID ]

I'm like "oh I'll film the seedsaving videos in the bathroom since it's quiet" but mistakes were made, it's too quiet, so now in all the videos you just hear the incessant clicking of the camera. Why is it even clicking when it's recording video? I have no idea. But it is. And it's really annoying.
anyways here's some seed saving videos I just made. Please ignore the clicking noise.
Also I am once again asking: how do I add subtitles to my youtube videos? Can I do it through youtube? Is there a free video editing program I can download that even dummies like me with no training can use?

Hollyhock seeds! Ty @ominouswizardbox :p there's sooooo many. I love hollyhocks. Sprinkling these suckers everywhere. Thinking about doing a seed give away too when I reach 1k, which seems to be creeping up quick. Thinking I will do a flower🌺 set or a veggie🍅 set. Winners choice. Will post more details once I hit that mark. Did you know hollyhocks are part of the mallow family and can be used interchangeably as you would marshmallow, the only difference is hollyhock is a bit woodier making it less palatable but useful none the less. Mallows can b used for irritation of the mouth and throat, dry cough, and bronchitis. It is also used for stomach and bladder complaints and to treat wounds. It's an essential part of my lung support tea 🍵 ☺️ #homestead #seeds #seedsaving #plantmedicine #flowers #herbalmedicine #permaculture #growmedicine #herbs #homesteading #garden #gardening #cottagegarden #homeateadlife #hollyhock #marshmallow #plantlady #farmlife https://www.instagram.com/p/CdnBcMiutoX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Need tips about seeds?
Here are some steps to get started with growing your seeds and have fun in the process:
1. Check the planting information on each seed packet you have.
2. Gather the necessary tools and materials for planting such as water, a spoon or trowel, a warm and sunny spot of soil, and your seeds.
3. Before planting outside, find out the last frost date in your area by searching online or consulting a Master Gardener volunteer. You may also consider starting your seeds indoors first.

Big Dill Seed Harvest 🥳 . Before removing a single, 8’ tall dill plant that had self-seeded in my raised bed, I clipped off the seed bunches & stripped them into a bag—one plant produced hundreds of seeds! . Will winnow (one job that’s ok if I blow it 🥸) & then store in paper packets. . Looking forward to add dill to all my pollinator party patches all over the garden 🥳 . #BigDill #YouBeDillin #DillCommunication #Dill #デイル #Aneth #SeedSaving #Seeds #Herb #HerbGarden #RaisedGardenBeds #RaisedBedGardening #BecauseFUGophers #NorCal #Zone9bGardening #Zone9b #Permaculture https://www.instagram.com/p/CiAyqBXvqSn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Are you enjoying your flowers? Are you remembering which ones catch your eye? Does that bloom drop seeds? If you are like me, a flower that is willing to share seed, is my kind of flower. Celosia...a bloom that keeps on giving is a showstopper. Many say it resembles brains. My mom called them Cock's conbs. In my mind, they are my velvet wands. I wave them over a bare spot in my garden early in spring. Once they poke through the soil, I merely wait for the magic to begin. Will they be the same cir as the bloom I harvested from? Not always. Will the bloom be beautiful? Yes Are you a seaver? Do you enjoy harvesting the memory of the bloom? Do you incorporate space in your garden that grows seeds of seasons past? #seedsaving #allaboutthegarden #allthingsbeautiful #seeds #celosia #sowingseedsforthefuture (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChkvnSgOstw/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
