i love how constance’s “happiness” wavered for a moment when she said “how depressing” at Dr Garrison’s notes Like even when brainwashed she simply CANNOT RESIST bullying Dr Garrison SKDJKDSHD

I don’t like to compare the mbs show to the books very often, just because i see them both as two very separate things, but if there’s one thing from the books that i really wish they had included in the first season it’s Constance’s weaknesses. Especially in the first season. For the most part she is depicted as a this crabby yet loveable genius that solves every problem that comes her way with little to no difficulty, and to some extent that’s fine, but i feel like they sort of made her invincible?? Especially in the season one finale when she destroys the Whisperer. In the show, she nearly faints (or maybe she did actually faint, it’s been a while since i read the books) because of how mentally exhausting it was, even for her. But in the show, she just stands up and walks it off like it was nothing. And idk I guess I just would have wanted to see her be a little more grounded in reality?? Which i understand is difficult to do with a character that is canonically a three year old psychic genius?? But given the show’s slightly more realistic approach it would’ve been nice to see that in the portrayal of Constance as well.
