Thinking about maybe starting on a new blog as a blank slate. There’s some baggage on this blog that I wanna avoid. Plus, as I get more serious about being a pro artist, I just want things to be a bit more cleaner on my blog, especially since twitter and instagram are not the best in my personal opinion. I’ll keep y’all in the loop on the upcoming week. If I don’t say anything then I won’t be making the move. If I do make a new blog, y’all will be the first to know. Thank you for sticking with me all these years!

Part 2

Pandora. A planet full of new colours, knowledge and danger. Compared to Earth, it was heaven. Except, you can’t get there by dying. Instead, you must pledge your life force to science. Even then, only incredible luck got me here. Not as much luck as Jake Sully had, though.
The ex-marine, paralysed from the waist down, had a brother. I remember when Tom died. There was no funeral. No one hold funerals anymore. We spent years together, learning about Pandora and preparing to be launched into space. Tom was killed barely a month before we were due to leave. Six years in cyro can’t fix that pain.
Now, I watch Jake Sully, standing in Tom’s tall blue Avatar body, marvelling at the dirt between his toes. Human or not, he looks exactly like his brother.
Today was our first time linking to the artificial Na’vi vessels. The lack of a mask on my face feels strange, but strangely relieving. The Pandora atmosphere, containing curiously higher percentages of carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and xenon, feels different to oxygen, somehow thicker as I breathe it in. It’s almost an out of body experience. I can feel my body, and I know it is mine, but when I look, it feels as though it is someone else’s. But that will go away in time. For now, I will enjoy the new freedoms and sensations that come with the Avatar.
--
The next morning, at 0600 on the dot, I am in my Avatar, and we are soaring above the Pandora jungle. I lean out over the edge of the helicopter beside Jake, who is also in his Avatar. We are zooming low over a huge body of water, accompanied by a flock of purple creatures, that squawk when we get too close.
The air craft rises again, over the trees, before descending onto the forest floor. Immediately, I jump down, ignoring how Jake waved his gun around like an idiot. He pushes ahead of me as the helicopter shuts off, tail whipping my leg. I hissed in annoyance, but followed behind without protesting.
We trepassed through the jungle, and despite the mind-blowing scenery, all I could think about was Pandora’s humanoid inhabitants. The Na’vi. The people we were impersonating with our Avatars. I was fluent in Na’vi, but Doctor Grace liked to tell me that my pronunciation was off. I think she just likes to get on my nerves.
The Na’vi were hunters by nature, and dangerous creatures that could kill you without batting an eye. Or so everyone would have us believe. Doctor Grace says the Na’vi are intelligent, sympathetic creatures, no different from us. Either way, I am certain that they are watching us right now.
Green monkey-like creatures with 6 legs swing through the trees. Jake raises his gun, but I reach out to lower it.
“Prolemuris.” I tell him, watching as they cartwheel away from us. “They are not aggressive.”
“Relax, marine. You’re making me nervous.” Grace says loudly, rolling her eyes and pushing past.
Eventually, Jake keeps walking.
“So,” Norm speaks up after sometime. “How will they know we’re here?”
“I’m sure they’re watching us right now.” Grace replies nonchalantly, echoing my thoughts from earlier.
We emerge from the thick forest and into a clearing. In the centre is a small, rotting, wooden hut. Grace strides in confidently, and the rest of us follow, a little less certain. Inside is the remains of a school. Books, which used to rest neatly on shelves, are scattered across the floor. Most of the desks remain upright, with chairs tucked underneath, but some are upside down and have been strewn across the room.
I watch silently from the door as Doctor Grace trails her hand sadly across a desk. When moves to another part of the room to gather equipment, I approach where she previously stood. Squinting a little, I can make out the rough letters scratched into the desk. ‘Sylwanin’.
“What happened here?” Jake questions, snapping me out of my thoughts. He stands next to an old black board, which is riddled with bullet holes.
Grace inhales sharply, and I watch as she fumbles for an answer. She finally settles on avoiding the question entirely. “Are you gonna help us here? We’ve got a lot to do.”
--
As Doctor Grace and Norm collect samples from a tree root, I wander off into the jungle. I enter another clearing, this time filled with round, spiralling plants. My hand brushes one, and it shrinks back into a little bud on the floor.
“What are you doing?” Jake demands, appearing from behind me.
I can’t help but giggle like a schoolgirl. “Watch this.”
When I poke another plant, Jake laughs too. I tough another, then another, and then they all shrink, leaving the clearing empty. My amusement fades away as Jake tenses beside me, and I spot a huge, armoured hammer-headed creature snorting at us from the trees. Jake yanks me behind him, and raises his gun. Fear spikes in my chest.
“Don’t shoot. You’ll only piss it off.” Grace’s voice crackles through the intercom in my ear.
“I think it’s already pissed off.” Jake responds, still pointing his gun at the creature.
“Trust me, Jake. That armour is too thick.” The marine relents, lowering his gun. Grace continues. “It’s a territorial threat display. Don’t run, or he’ll charge.”
“Thank what am I supposed to do, dance with it?”
“Just hold your ground.”
The animal huffs, pawing the ground, before letting out a roar and charging anyway.
“Grace…” I mutter, frozen in fear.
With a scream of his own, Jake ran, headfirst, towards it. My heart skipped at least three beats before the creature skidded to a halt, the webbed fans behind its hammer head spreading in alarm. It slinked away into the forest and Jake whooped in victory.
“Oh yeah! Who’s bad?” He shouted triumphantly. “That’s right. That’s what I’m talking about. Bitch.”
I laughed in relief, turning away from Jake to catch my breath. It did not take long for my blood to turn to ice again.
“That’s right, get your punk ass back to mommy.”
“Jake,” I whispered.
“Yeah, yeah you got nothing! You keep running.”
“Jake!” I hissed, a little louder.
Finally, he turned around. “What?”
The black, slick, panther-like thanator roared threateningly. It loomed above me on the tree, before leaping over us and growling at the pack of hammer heads. Jake raised his gun again in alarm.
“So, uh, what about this one? Run, don’t run?”
I grabbed his arm and pulled him in the other direction. “Run, definitely run!”
Leaping over a tree root, I rushed into the forest, Jake following close behind. I weaved around a tree, then through bamboo looking plants, then under a tree root. Still the thanator roared and crashed behind me. Launching myself off a particularly high rock, I curled my hands around a vine, using the momentum to swing myself up into a tree. The creature raced past, instead favouring Jake, who had taken refuge in the roots of another tree. He fired his gun desperately, but it did nothing to slow his pursuer. I searched my surroundings frantically, looking for someway to help. My eyes landed on the crack in the branch I stood across from.
My hands grappled for another vine, and I swung at the branch, hard. I was rewarded with a sickening crack. Still, the thanator dug at the roots, claws dangerously close to Jake. I swung again, once, twice, three times, until, with particularly loud crack, the branch plummeted to the ground, landing on the thanator’s tail. It screamed out, and Jake scrambled, running into the jungle. I grabbed another vine, sliding down and following after. The thanator kept screaming.
Jake ducked under a root ahead of me. Before I could make it through, the thanator soared over me, grabbing Jake by the backpack and swinging him through the air. He unclipped the back, and went tumbling to the ground. I rushed between the creatures legs as it shook the bag out of its jaws, and pulled him up with one hand. We kept running.
We hurtled through a break in the trees. The little control we had over our Avatar bodies was not enough to stop us as we realised we were fast heading off the edge of a cliff. I scream ripped out of my throat as the thanator snapped its jaws behind us. I crossed my arms over my chest and pushed my legs together. All I could do was hope that there was water beneath us.
My feet hit the rapids first, and the rest of my body followed. I did not have time to swim to the surface for air, because my head struck a rock, and I was rendered unconscious.
--
When I could think clearly again, the first thing I wondered was if I was dead. Then I realised that I certainly wasn’t, because why was my dead spirit being jostled around like a sack of potatoes? I pealed my eyes open, glad the light was not too bright. As it turns out, the person tossing me around was strangely familiar.
“Tom?”
The person looked down at me and grinned. “You’re awake.”
It was Jake, still in Tom’s Avatar. He had one arm under my knees, and the other across my shoulders, carrying me through the jungle. My head throbbed, and when I reached up to touch my forehead, my fingers came back with flakes of dried blood on them.
“How long have I been out?”
“Hours.” Jake said worriedly. “I was beginning to think you wouldn’t wake up at all. But hey, look on the bright side.”
He nodded ahead of us. A tall blue Na’vi woman carrying a bow stalked through the trees. She looked back occasionally, as if checking we were still there.
“Is that…”
“Hell yeah it is. She’s taking us back to their village.”
“Oh wow,” I muttered, taking her in. “What’s her name?”
“That’s a good question. I’ll ask.”
He did not get the chance, because his legs came out from under him, and we fell from the particularly high tree branch we had been walking across. I groaned loudly in pain when we hit the ground, unable to move as Jake frantically pulled on the rope around his ankles. As he tossed it away, more Na’vi on 6-legged, horse-like creatures emerged, wielding weapons.
Jake drew his knife, turning to see more Na’vi behind him. I struggled to stand, the pain in my head making me dizzy. I looked up, only to meet the eyes of a Na’vi. He aimed his arrow, no doubt laced with a neurotoxin, at my chest. I raised my hands in fear.
“Calm, people, calm.” The woman that had been leading the forest shouted. Despite being fluent, it took me a moment to translate the words.
The Na’vi pointing the arrow at me lowered his weapon, dismounting his horse thing, and stalking toward the woman.
“What are the doing, Tsu’tey?” The woman asked.
Tsu’tey. His name was Tsu’tey.
“These demons are forbidden here.” Tsu’tey replied.
“There has been a sign.” The woman insists. “This is a matter for the Tsahìk.”
I could not begin to comprehend what that meant, because my legs began to shake uncontrollably, and I fell to the ground again. Tsu’tey stared down at me, before grabbing me roughly under the arms and pulling me up on the horse thing with him, and laying me across his knees. I gasped, the sudden movement amplifying the dizziness in my head. I looked back to see Jake being dragged behind us by the Na’vi on foot.
When the jungle began to thin out, a huge tree came into sight. This was where the Omatikaya clan lived. The tree was at least three times bigger than the tallest tree in the jungle, and Na’vi flowed in and out of the trunk from a cave-sized hole at the base of it.
We rode straight into the hole, and the horse things began to slow down. Tsu’tey dismounted, pulling my down with him. My legs were still weak, but I managed to stand.
“This is so cool,” I whispered, gazing round at the curious eyes of the Na’vi around me.
Tsu’tey gave me a funny look, before ushering me forward through the crowd, that parted like a sea. I could count the four fingers pressing into the skin between my shoulder blades, although his touch was not rough like before. Some of the people whispered among themselves, and others reached out to touch me, darting away quickly, as though my five fingers were contagious. A little girl grabbed some of my hair, forcing me to stop. My hair went past my waist, since I had not had the chance to cut it. I smiled at her, and she giggle shyly, letting go. Tsu’tey pushed my forward.
We came to a stop, and soon Jake was pushed into position beside me. The woman stepped in front of us, talking to an older man with a huge belt across his shoulders. He approached, scanning us critically. I made the gesture the woman had made a few moments before. Three fingers to the forehead, then forward. I see you.
“Why do you bring these demons here?” He questions. The commanding tone, plus the decorations adorning his body. He is Olo'eyktan, the leader of the Omatikaya clan.
“I was going to kill them,” The woman says. “But there was a sign from Eywa.”
That’s the second time she’s mentioned a sign. What does that mean?
“I have said before, no dreamwalker will come here.” The Olo'eyktan booms.
“What’s he saying?” Jake whispers.
“The alien smell fills my nose.”
“You smell bad.” I whisper back, holding in a laugh at the confused expression on his face.
“My father is deciding whether to kill you.” The woman says.
Jake shifts uncomfortably. “Your father. It’s nice to meet you, sir.”
He steps forward, offering his hand, and the Na’vi behind him leap to restrain him. I step forward too, quickly shoving Jake’s arm back to his side. The woman shoves him back, and Tsu’tey steps in front of the Olo'eyktan defensively.
“Step back!” Someone calls. “I will look at the aliens.”
A woman descends from a stairway above. She is decorated too, but not as much as the Olo'eyktan.
“That is mother.” The younger woman says. “She is Tsahìk, the one who interprets the will of Eywa.”
“Whose Eywa?” Jake asks.
I groan in annoyance. Can he be anymore oblivious? The Tsahìk circles us, pulling on Jake’s braid and tail, then running a hand through my hair and examining my fingers.
“What are you called?” She asks, her Na’vi accent dripping over the English words.
“Jake Sully.”
“And you?” She looks to me.
“My name is (Name).” I say in Na’vi, gesturing I see you to her as well.
The woman huffs a little, then withdraws a small pointy spike from her necklace. She reaches out suddenly, slicing it across both out faces in one fluid strike. I recoil in shock, then stead myself again. She licks it with her tongue, and her expression immediately changes to one of surprise.
“Why did you come to us?” She questions.
“We came to learn.” Jake replies confidently. I look at him out of the corner of my eye.
“We have tried to teach other Sky People. It is hard to fill a cup that is already full.”
“My cup is empty, trust me.” Jake insists. “Just ask Doctor Augustine, I’m no scientist.”
“Then what are you?”
Jake is silent. “I was a marine-“
“He is a warrior.” I cut in, thinking as quickly as I can with the pounding of my head. “Of the Jarhead clan.”
“A warrior!” Tsu’tey cries. “I could kill him easily.”
“No.” The Olo'eyktan stops him. “This is the first warrior of the Sky People we have seen. We need to learn more about him.”
“My daughter, you will teach him our way.” The Tsahìk says.
“Why me? Why not Tsu’tey?” The other woman hisses.
Her mother’s lips twist a little. “They will likely kill each other before the day is out. It is decided. My daughter will teach you our ways, Jakesully.” She approaches me again.
“What about her?” Jake asks, gesturing to me.
Yeah, what about me? Butterflies flap in my stomach. What if she kicks me out? I’m not a warrior. I am a scientist.
“That depends. Are you a warrior?”
“No…” I say. “But I can learn, too.”
The Tsahìk cocks her head. “Why should I believe you?”
“She is a warrior.” Jake cut in. “Just a different kind.”
“What are you doing?” I whisper.
“Saving your ass.” He mutters back. “She came here to save her people down on Earth. She will learn, trust me.”
It is silent, as the woman before me contemplates what to do. “Tsu’tey, you will teach this one.”
Tsu’tey growled. “But-“
“You will learn, child, or you will leave. Now go.” Tsahìk waved her hands. “You must begin immediately.”
With a hiss, Tsu’tey stalked toward me, grabbing me by the arm and pulling me through the crowd. I stumbled on my own feet, struggling to keep up with his pace.
“Why are we in such a rush?” I huffed in annoyance when we had ascended to a higher, less crowded level of the tree.
“What is rush?” Tsu’tey asks, still leading me through the village.
“Um, to do something quickly, I guess.”
We stop at large hut. As we go inside, I take in the three women sitting in the corner, and the piles of bowls containing brightly coloured pastes around them. The rest of the floor is covered with woven mats.
“This is the healing hut.” Tsu’tey says.
10 minutes later, we emerge again. The wound on my head is clean and covered with a patch. The healers had retrieved a few garments of Na’vi clothing. A cloth top winds around my back, across my chest and loops around my neck. A second, much smaller cloth dangles between my legs, held up by a strap that curves above my hips. It definitely covers the extremities, but not as much as I’d like. I suppose this is a part of the learning.
Again, Tsu’tey grabs my arm, leading me further up and into a large communal level. In the centre is a bonfire, and Na’vi circle it, all crouched on their hunches. We walk right through the crowd and sit at the front. Tsu’tey hands me a rolled up leaf. Upon opening it, I pick up one of the contents. It is a beetle shaped thing. Tsu’tey crunches on his own, so I follow suit. Its hard on the outside, but soft and smooth in the middle. It kind of tastes like chicken soup, just… solid.
Beside me, the woman from the forest pushes Jake down to sit.
“Hey,” He says to me.
“Hi.” I wave back, munching on a beetle thing.
Jake talks to the woman, who eventually introduces herself as Neytiri. Tsu’tey hasn’t said a word to me since we left the healers.
“So, Tsu’tey, what is this stuff?”
“Teylu. You call…” Tsu’tey pauses to search for the words. “Beetle. Larvae.”
“Oh.”

Miya x Reader songfic
Summary: Your Miya’s first love, and he doesn’t know how to deal with it, you, or his feelings.
Warnings/things to know: Slight implication of female reader, minor cursing, parts that aren’t on plot of sk8, some angst? You get a happy ending though dw dw.
(A/N) : Didn’t really get to post till now busy with school but since it’s summer already I’ve got loads of time but not enough motivation so I’ll probably post writings of different characters slowly cause yeah, but I hope you like it. English isn’t really my first language but I love writing, so if there’s any grammar errors or spelling mistakes lmk!! If there’s anything you want me to write, I can try!
Tumblr media
Let me just set the scene!
Miya had invited you to watch him at one of his S matches, he was going against this ‘new Canadian kid’ as he put it. And you agreed. “Good luck.” You encouraged with a smile, he felt himself smiling too but he shoved it down. He scoffed, turning his head away “won’t need luck.” He muttered confidently, heading to the start so they could begin. As soon as the buzzer rang, the two sped off. You watched in awe at how gracefully Miya was losing skating, the blue haired teenager he was going against started to catch up to him, as if it were nothing.
.
.
Once the match ended Miya looked so bummed about having lost—to rookie too. You giggled at his pouting “what was that about not needing luck?” You teased. “Shut up.” He murmured. You smiled. “Relax,” you say putting a hand between his shoulder and back. “you did great either way.” Miya swore you looked absolutely stunning, despite the dim lighting of the lamp post and your clothes that got dirty from skating earlier. “Yeah..” he muttered, too mesmerized by your beauty to come up with some snarky remark.
Cause the potential of us was keeping me up all—night long.
You met up with him the following day for school, dressed in the uniform. “G’morning Miya.” You smiled, he looked at you and looked away. Even in the school’s uniform you looked pretty. “Morning.” He murmured in a trance. Your smirked. “Miya I know I’m pretty, admire me all you want, but we’re going to be late for class if you keep staring at me.” Said boy flushed red. “S.. Sorry. You’re right, let’s go.” He said shaking his head to clear his thoughts and began walking with you to class.
Like what if you freak out when we’re losing it all
At the critical chapter, where I say “I love you”, and you don’t say it after.
The two of you were in science class, passing notes back and forth. Miya made sure to listen partially to what the teacher was talking about, just in case she called on either or both of you. And so you wouldn’t get in trouble. ‘Skate park after school?’ You slid the piece of paper over to him. He looked down and got his pencil out to reply. ‘Sure, but we should probably finish our homework before skating.’ He slid it back over to you. You chuckled lightly, which made the cat-like boy raise an eyebrow. He wondered what you were thinking about. You smiled, pursing your lips in a tight line—or at least tried to, so you wouldn’t burst out laughing. ‘Are you inviting me on a study date?’ He blushed, and whipped his head quickly to see you snickering. Your lips were twitching as you covered your mouth, trying to keep yourself from laughing. “Ms. (Y/N)? What’s so funny?” The teacher asked. “Oh nothing, I’m sorry.” You said, clearing your throat. “Well then could you tell me which group the element xenon lands in?” She asked, crossing her arms. Everyone turned to you, waiting to laugh at you when you would supposedly get the wrong answer. You smiled. Miya was a bit worried, cause although he knew he was paying attention he didn’t know if you had. “Yeah no problem, group 18, it’s in the noble gases.” You say confidently. The students groaned, turning back in their seats, disappointed the wouldn’t have something someone to laugh at. The teacher just gave you a questioning look but just shook her head and continued on with her lesson. Miya was impressed. He found himself smiling when you smirked victoriously. “Guess studying for hours straight actually is good for something.” You joked, elbowing him. Just the simple touch made his heart race. “Yeah..” shit he really did like you.
Now I’m falling in faster, this could be a disaster.
School finally came to an end, and you stretched your arms over your head. “Tired?” Miya asked. “Yeah, can’t believe they made us run that much.” You sighed. All he did was chuckle as you got your stuff from your locker. “Oh right, can we stop by my house real quick? I don’t want to be skating in a skirt.” You said, shutting your locker. “Of ‘course, her majesty can’t be tripping over her large ball gown.” Miya teased. You scoffed and smacked his shoulder lightly. “Wow I’m hurt.” He teased, but he couldn’t hide the smile that tugged at the corners of his lips.
Let me just—lose my mind.
The sun had started to set, your homework was long done and forgotten. Miya was teaching you some new trick that you hadn’t learned. Sure he laughed every time you would fall, but he always helped you back to your feet. “This is has got to be the millionth time you’ve fell.” Miya teased, reaching his hand out to help you up. “Yeah for you.” You muttered under your breath, thankfully he didn’t hear. “What was that?” He asked. Taking his hand to get back up, you shook your head to rid of your thoughts before smirking at him. “I said and if this is the millionth time I’ve fallen, then it’s the millionth time you’ve helped me up.” You chuckled, making him blush. Miya knew that wasn’t what you said, he thought he heard something else. But he figured he must’ve been hearing things. He couldn’t get his hopes up too soon.
But if I'm reading it wrong, man, it'd be better off if I died.
The sun was just about to sink completely in the dark blue horizon, you could see the stars twinkling up. You and Miya had finished up skating for the day, opting to just sit at the top of the ramp, and attempt to stargaze. But it was hard to see anything with all the city lights.
“The moon is beautiful tonight, isn’t it?” You asked, clearing your throat. He looked into your eyes then back at the moon and smiled, “Yeah, it is.” he replied, not understanding what you were hinting at. You sighed, and let your head fall back onto the railings on the ramp. You winced with your head hit the metal bars a little too hard and he scoffed with a smile. “Idiot.” He muttered under his breath, turning to look at you as you glared at him and rubbed your head to try to soothe the pain. “Be careful,” he said, looking at you lovingly. But he immediately ‘coughed’ and added a “don’t want you to get even dumber than you already are.” Which made you shake your head and smile at his demeanor.
This could be a disaster, I’m pedaling backwards.
“Wanna watch my match tonight?” He asked. You tried to forget about last night, because you knew he was stupidly dense and wanted to save yourself from embarrassment. “Um. Sorry, gonna have to turn you down this one time. I gotta finish studying for that math exam.” You lied, or at least partially. You were just making up excuses. He raised an eyebrow at this, clearly knowing you were well prepared for the test, and even though he’d never admit it he felt hurt. “Ah. Okay. Well good luck with the studying!” He said awkward through gritted teeth, biting down on his tongue to avoid asking questions. You were probably busy, he thought. “Maybe next time.” You chuckled awkwardly. You both looked down at the floor. You wanted to go watch him, but you couldn’t. Every time he smiled or laughed, or even when he made his usual snide remarks he made your heart race. “Yeah.. next time.” He repeated. “Well I’ve got to go—“ you both said making you both chuckle. “Yeah, love you bye!” You accidentally blurted out. “What?” He asked shocked. You clasped a hand over your mouth. “I said you’re such a fly.” You lied. “Well uhh— I should probably go.” You said speeding off. And it would’ve been okay if it weren’t for the fact that Miya hadn’t said a word.
He fucking heard.
Maybe I'm mistaken
During his match, you were all he could think about. He tried to shake it off and concentrate on one goal, winning. But every time he tried, he thought of you again.
You're not mine for takin'
In your room you were panicking, rummaging around for anything to calm yourself down, but you found yourself empty handed.
.
.
After a while you finally calmed down, listening to music from your favorite artist. Recalling what you had said, and that he had heard you, you screamed into your pillow. You heard a soft thud, then another. You lifted your head up from the pillow, to see another stone was making the noise. You got up to see what it was, assuming it must’ve been one of the neighborhoods kids trying to pull some type of prank, but when you got up to look at the window, you saw no other than “Miya?” You called, though it almost sounded like a question. “Hey, can we talk?” He asked, kicking his feet into the grass anxiously. You pursed your lips, grabbing a sweater and exiting out your window.
Maybe I just made it up, messed it up.
You guys walked a bit, probably aimlessly till you somehow made your way to the skate park you guys would hang out at. He climbed up the ramp, then extending his hand to help you up. He wasn’t acting like himself. You took his hand anyways, sitting down awkwardly, nervously swinging your legs over the edge. “(Y/N), listen. About what you said—“ “If this is your way of rejecting me gently, save me the trouble and just say it.” You interrupted. He looked at you confused, his eyebrows furrowed, half annoyed that you would think that was what he was gonna say and a bit bewildered that you interrupted him. “Geez at least let me—“ but he stopped himself when he noticed you were tearing up. He cleared his throat, grabbing your hand. “That’s not what I’m doing here,” he started, you looked up to gaze into his green eyes. “Actually, what I was going to say before you so rudely interrupted me,” he continued making you laugh a bit. Though it cracked a bit, as you were on the verge of tears thinking he was going to reject you. “Is that I like you.” He mumbled. “What?” You asked, “Miya Chinen tell me this isn’t some sick joke.” You repeated, looking into his eyes for any signs that he could be lying. But he only smiled, and it looked so genuine that it made you believe a bit that he was telling the truth. “I like you, (Y/N). Like a whole lot.” He said, reaching to boldly cup your face in his hands. And that was all you needed to hear to break into tears and throw your arms around him. “God you don’t know how happy that makes me.” You cried, and he hugged you back hesitantly, not really use to the affection, but he welcomed it anyways. “Ive liked you for a while. Every time you smiled, or when I saw your eyes light up whenever you finally learned a new trick, I fell in love with you more.” He admitted, though flustered. You chuckled through wet tears, “that’s so corny..” you smiled. He just shook his head with a laugh. “So what does that make us now?” You asked, pulling away from his arms to look at him eye-to-eye. “Guess that makes us boyfriend and girlfriend.” He said with a smile. His cheeks were dusted pink, and with the dim lighting from the street lights, he looked almost ethereal. He coughed nervously, averting your gaze. “That’s if you want to I mean, if you don’t then that’s cool too.” He rambled. You shook your head with a chuckle, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to his cheek, making him even more flustered. “Dude, I just indirectly told you I like you too and you’re asking if I want to? Yes of course I do!” You giggled. He swore right then and there that his heart was going to burst out of his chest. He shyly grabbed your hand, rubbing small circles on the back of it. “Hey (Y/N)?” He called. You hummed. “I love you.” He mumbled, looking up at you slightly. You smiled, “I love you too.” You sat in silence for a few seconds. “Wait but did you when the match?” You asked. He chuckled. “Hell yeah I won the match.”
You shook your head with a smile, leaning onto his shoulder. You knew you might get in trouble for being out late on a school night but right now you just wanted to enjoy this moment while it lasted.

Jeff barely reacted when Eddie burst into his room and shut the door just barely soft enough to not count as a slam— he’d heard the whirlwind that was his best friend from the moment he pulled up, let alone his thundering footsteps up the stairs. He didn’t even look up from the magazine he was mostly pretending to read, even as Eddie talked a million miles per second about something.
Honestly, all he heard was something about Gareth being an asshole about something, and Jeff knew his input wasn’t needed for this particular story, so he returned his focus to the article he was reading.
Then Eddie flopped down on the bed next to him, crawling up the length of it and settling in against Jeff’s side. Something fluttered in his chest at the closeness, at the steady heat of Eddie’s body against his, but he squashed that all down.
The only way he would be able to stay sane as Eddie Munson’s best friend is if he didn’t also have a crush on him.
“Jeff, you gotta help me,” Eddie whined, pressing his face directly into the center of Jeff’s chest as he flopped over on top of him.
Rolling his eyes and hoping he didn’t feel as hot as his face felt, Jeff asked, “what did you do this time?”
“I just told you, man,” he complained, practically wailed.
“I’m gonna be honest here, Eddie, I kinda tuned you out the second you said ‘Gareth’ and ‘being a whole dick’ in the same sentence,” Jeff sighed, and Eddie’s head whipped up to level a wounded stare at him.
“He was being a whole dick!” Eddie insisted.
“Oh no! Here I go again, tuning you out!” Jeff said dramatically, as if he was being dragged away while he lifted his magazine to start reading again.
“Jeffothy, I’m gonna call Freak my best friend if you keep being so mean,” Eddie pouted, dropping his face back onto Jeff’s chest. “Seriously, I need your help.”
“With what?” Jeff asked with another eyeroll.
There was a long pause, and for a second Jeff thought that Eddie fell asleep on top of him. Then he sighed and mumbled something unintelligible.
“Eddie, you’ve gotta speak up and enunciate,” Jeff sighed, lifting a hand to play with the ends of Eddie’s curly, long hair.
“… I need your help finding Gareth’s drumsticks—”
“Eddie, tell me you didn’t steal Gareth’s sticks and lose them,” Jeff groaned, covering his face with both hands.
“I didn’t mean to fuckin’ lose them! I swear I put them down for like two seconds, and then they were gone!” Eddie insisted, lifting his head to pout prettily up at Jeff. Already, he felt any amount of resolve against helping Eddie melting away. He never could say no to those big brown eyes, even before he had a not-crush simmering under the surface. Then Eddie’s pout got bigger, his eyes practically tearing up as he said, “Pwease hewp me?”
Barking out a laugh, Jeff shoved Eddie away and off the bed. “God, you’re so annoying,” he said lightly as he got up, ignoring the way his stomach squirmed at Eddie’s grin up at him.
“You love me, and you know it,” Eddie said smugly, hopping to his feet and brushing off the imaginary dust on his pants.
“Yeah,” Jeff agreed, smiling a bit wistfully as he followed Eddie out of his bedroom. “Yeah, I do.”

WIP Weekend
Stealing the rules from @kedreeva.
I'm drawing closer to finishing my Steddie Bigbang project and need a little kick. Also, tomorrow is a snow day so I might as well write.
Here’s how it works:
In a reblog (or new post w/ rules attached), post up to five (5) filenames of your WIPs; not titles, file names.
Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to post!
After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write 3 sentences in that file. If the filename is one you can't share from (for example, an event fic), write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.
That’s it! You can invite others to join in, or just post. If you tag me in your post, I will send you an ask request! Also, if you send me an ask, I'll look on your page to see if you'd like one back. This works best when we help each other!
Additional Temp Rule:
Every non-Nightswimming request will also get me to write 3 sentences on Nightswimming, so I can actually finish the damn thing.
Files:
Nightswimming working doc
Crown of Thorns
The Prophetic D&D Game
Cat's in the Cradle
The Trolley Problem (formerly Time Travel)
Progress Chart:
Tumblr media
(See? I've been working on it. I swear)
Snippet and Taglist behind the cut
Snippet from Nightswimming:
“I know,” he said. “But it still feels like I’m responsible for them, you know?”
“There’s such a thing as too much responsibility.”
“And how would you know?” Steve bit back, sharper than he expected.
Eddie flashed him a smile that showed too much teeth. “No need to be a bitch about it, Harrington,” he said. Steve looked away. “What I’m saying is that you need to learn to let them go a little bit, or they’re going to start treating you like you’re a parent and rebel like proper teenagers.”
Steve let his head bang against the wall of the van. “I can’t, though,” he said.
“Why?”
He shut his eyes and rolled his head from side to side. “Can’t tell you,” he said. “Trust me though. You don’t want to know.”
“And if I say that I really, really do?”
“I still can’t tell you,” Steve said. He put his hand over his heart and made a little cross sign. “Swear to God.”

Dreams of Hyacinth 28
First / Previous / Next
While Tink docked to the Xenni station, Nick and Eastern got dressed.
"Do we need to wear anything special? I don't know the Xenni very well." Eastern was pulling on clothes and talking with Tink through one of her support frames.
"They breath a mix that's similar to yours and the K'laxi. You should be fine. You might find that it smells odd. They have more sulfur in their home planet's atmosphere than Earth, but the concentrations they have won't hurt you. There's a touch less oxygen and more xenon too, but not enough to worry about, especially for the time we're going to be there. They like it warm too, so short sleeves will be fine."
"Thanks Tink." Eastern looked over at Nick. He was busy pulling his pants back on. "Ready to go meet the Xenni?"
"No, but I guess we're going to do it anyway." Nick sighed as he finished putting his clothes on.
"What's wrong, hon?"
Nick looked up at Eastern, worry on his face. "Eastern, we're two criminals from Hyacinth. Small time crooks who - until two weeks ago - used to con people out of their valuables and effectively shoplift. Now, we're lightyears from home, on the run from an Empress who has a Voice that can make people do what she says, and we're going to talk to another sapient species about touching a magic stone in a warp gate to do... something. We're not even sure what's going on. Why would I be okay?"
Eastern strode over and hugged Nick tightly. "We'll be okay because we're doing it together."
Nick melted into the hug. "I hope so Eastern. I'm way out of my element. I've been trying to hold it together these past few days, but... with all that's going on... and Selkirk..." Tears welled in Nicks eyes and he didn't say anything else.
Eastern held Nick a long time until Tink made a throat clearing noise. Nick started and looked up at Tink's support frame. "Sorry, it's just that we're docked, and I can see that some Xenni are waiting outside the airlock. Do you need a moment?"
Nick broke off the hug. "I'll be okay Tink, it's just... been a lot for me."
Tink's support frame nodded. "I get that. I'll go do some final checks and meet you by the airlock in a few."
Nick washed his face and took a few breaths. He came out of the bathroom looking much better. "I sure hope the wild surprises end soon. I could use a vacation."
Eastern smiled. "I'd like that. Take me to Parvati."
"It's a deal. When this is all done, we'll go spend a month on Parvati. I'll show you all my favorite places."
Nick and Eastern found Chloe, Hat and Tink's support frame waiting for them down at the airlock. "Everyone is here. Let's get this over with." Chloe sighed and reached for the airlock cycle.
Eastern narrowed her eyes. "Wait. Chloe, Nick and I plan on telling them the truth. We want to examine the Gate, and touch the stone inside. Were you planning on..."
Chloe's hand reached back from the airlock cycle button. "Honestly? If it was just us-" she gestured at Hat and Tink "-I wouldn't tell them a thing and just request to see the gate and examine it."
"Bully them you mean." Hat crossed his arms.
Chloe glared at Hat but said nothing. "Since twice now I have told you something that... didn't quite happen the way I expected it I am willing to try and do things your way. We will not hide anything from them. But I don't think we should come clean with everything all at once either."
Hat shrugged. "For once, I agree with Chloe. Telling them everything might be a bit... much. We don't know how much they know about Empress Melody - if anything - and her and Raaden's Voice. Without seeing it, it's kind of tough to accept."
Eastern looked at Nick and he nodded once. "That's fair. It is pretty wild what they can do."
Chloe looked at everyone one more time, and pressed the airlock cycle. The airlock hummed and hissed for a few seconds and the inner door opened. Everyone stepped inside, and the door shut.
After another moment, the outer door opened and Nick's nose was assaulted with the smell of the sea. It's smelled like low tide at a beach back on Parvati. He knew that the Xenni were much more aquatic than humans were, but this was surprising. Did they live on a water world?
As the party stepped out, they were met by three Xenni. They were shorter than humans, but wider. Their bodies had a glossy carapace that shone under the artificial lighting. Nick noticed that at the joints of their limbs, the carapace was segmented almost like armor. They walked on two large legs with two more behind, and they had two arm like appendages that were more or less where human arms where. Their heads were large, with visible mouthparts that looked like they helped put food into their mouths and two eyes on short stalks above their head.
Crab people. Nick realized with a start. They looked like crab people.
One of them, whose carapace was a deep dark bluish red had colorful badges on their chest. It looked like an indicator of rank. "Greetings, and welcome to Xenni Station 73. My name is Coreanth and I will be your guide, assistant, and liaison while here."
Eastern stepped forward. "Thank you Coreanth. My name is Eastern, this is Nick, and Chloe, and Medicine Hat, and the support frame is Tinker Toy, our ship. We are pleased to meet you."
One of the Xenni next to Coreanth raised one of their arms and a device whirred and beeped. They made a noise at Coreanth and moved their arm such so that Coreanth could read the device. "Ah. Two of you are human, and the rest are-" they struggled for words "-not."
Chloe smiled thinly. "That is correct Coreanth. Nick and Eastern are biological humans, the rest of us are not."
To their credit, Coreanth seemed to recover quickly. "Welcome, welcome! Please, accompany me, and we can lead you to the Gate. We have added atmosphere to it, and connected it to our station. You can breathe there easily, there is no need for suits." They turned and gestured for them to follow.
As the group walked down the hall, the two Xenni with Coreanth took up station behind them. They seemed to carry no weapons, but their purpose was clear. They were guards meant to make sure nobody strayed from the group.
Coreanth sounded jovial though. "Tell me, it has been many years since we have met any humans outside of our standard meetings and exchanges of information. What brings you into our empire?"
"We're interested in the Gates. We would like to examine one, and try and learn more about it."
"Are you a part of the expedition that came through about 10 of your years back and explored the Gate system? I was not part of the group that gave access, but I remember reading about the expedition as they passed through Xenni space."
"Not... exactly, no." Eastern was careful "But we are trying to further the knowledge they gathered. They learned some interesting things about the Gates, and we're looking to build upon that knowledge."
"Oh? That is fascinating. We have had the Gates in our empire for as long as we have had an empire. We have examined many of them very thoroughly. Maybe we know the information you seek already."
As Coreanth took a few steps further down the hall, Nick looked around. The hall had rounded walls, and while it was brightly lit, the color was different than he was used to. It was bluer, harsher. He wondered if the Xenni evolved under a brighter, bluer star than humans. It might explain their carapace too, if they were exposed to higher concentrations of ultraviolet light.
Eastern nodded quickly. "We'd like that Coreanth, you probably do know far more about the Gates than we do, we'd like the opportunity to learn from you."
Coreanth's mouthparts clacked. Nick realized it was clearly a body language gesture, but he had no idea what it meant. Nick was kicking himself for not bringing a translator module. It would have told him things he can't pick up about Xenni body language. At least Coreanth speaks Colonic very well.
Coreanth's mouthparts clacked again. "I will tell you a surprising fact about the Gates right now in fact. Did you know that there is a distributed intelligence that lives inside the Gates? They manifest themselves as nanoscale machines on this side of the gates, but exist almost wholly in the liminal space where the main Gate is?"
Eastern, Nick, Chloe, Hat and Tink stop walking. Nick and Eastern look at Coreanth with wide eyes and Chloe looks around the hall worriedly.
"You did not know this, yes? It's very surprising is it not?" Coreanth's mouthparts clack again. Nick wonders if it's a Xenni smile.
"Coreanth... are they called Nanites?"
Coreanth's eye stalks wave back and forth. Another Xenni body language. "They are, Eastern! I am very surprised you knew this. Where did you learn it?"
Eastern takes a step and then stops. She looks back at Nick, her eyes wide. She's almost ready to panic. Nick steps foward. "Coreanth, did the Nanites tell you about... an Empress?"
"Empress Melody? Yes, we know about her. The Human who took up the mantle of the Old Empress and is attempting to rebuild their empire. The Nanites said that she has made a few personality backups. We've spoken to her a few times now."
Eastern's head swivels over to Coreanth. "Coreanth, Melody is dead. She died ten years ago."
Coreanth's mouthparts clack. Nick is sure it's a nod. "Her human body is dead yes, but like I mentioned, she made a few backups to the Nanites. We can speak to her if you'd like. All of the previous Empresses are there too. It can get quite noisy if they all want to speak." Coreanth starts walking again. "Come! We can go visit them now if you'd like. I was going to give you a tour first, but it seems like you would like to meet your Empress. We can do that first, and take a tour after."
Coreanth took them through the long, winding halls of the Xenni station and down deeper. Soon, they reached another heavy door, and the fourth Xenni they've seen this entire time was standing guard. This one was carrying a rifle. It was like nothing Nick had ever seen. It was a similar color to the Xenni's carapace and was rounded and seemed to mold into their arms and hands perfectly. As they approached the guard straightened up, and said something in their whispering, chittering language. Coreanth gestured at them and replied. Satisfied, the guard stepped to the side.
On the other side of the door, the hall was much different. Made of stone, or a stone like material, it was much wider and cooler than on the Xenni station. The light was more yellow as well, closer to the light Nick would expect to see. After a short walk, they came to what looked like the end of the hall.
Coreanth's mouthparts clacked again. Nick had a hunch they were having a great time. "Humans, would you please approach the wall here? I have a feeling that when you approach it will open."
Nick and Eastern approached the wall. When they were about a half meter away, there was a rumbling, and the wall slid down into the floor, revealing a large, airy chamber ahead of them. Nick looked over at Coreanth. "If it opens for us automatically, how did you get in?"
"At first, we forced our way in. After we met the Nanites and talked things over, they added our signature to their memories, and allowed us to operate their machinery."
"But why does it work for us without that?"
Coreanth pointedly did not clack their mouthparts. "Because you are Builders. You already have access." They stepped ahead. "Come, I will show you the Directory Stone."
As they walked further into the Gate, Nick and Eastern looked around. It was almost like a temple, or a mausoleum. It was clearly made for a ceremonial purpose. People never lived here. It appeared to Nick that there were places for people to gather in this main room, and they all faced towards a very large door at the other end of the room.
Before the door, was a dais. A half meter tall, it was a circle nearly in the center of the room. As Nick and Eastern approached, there was a flash of green light, and appearing on the dais, was... a hologram.
Chloe gasped when she saw it. "Nick, Eastern, look. It's a map."
Nick and Eastern stopped and looked at the map. It spun genly in front of them. "Where are we I wonder?" Nick looked at Chloe.
When he spoke, the map spun and whirled until one point was in front of them. symbols flashed in front of the point. Words, most likely. "Chloe, what was the name of the huge station that Melody was on when she became Empress?"
"Reach of the Might of Vzzx, I think."
Nick looked at the map. "Where is Reach of the Might of Vzzx?"
The map spun and the points became very small and the view backed out until Nick could make out the entire galaxy, and then quickly zoomed in to another point. Here more text flashed, and there was a different symbol, yellow that was flashing, almost like an error.
"Look, that's where the Reach is supposed to be, but that symbol is flashing."
Coreanth looked at the map with them. "It says that the station is not where it is supposed to be."
Eastern turned to Coreanth in shock. "You can read it?"
"Yes. Those of us who spend a long time with the Nanites can take on a small measure of their skills. We are not Builders, but with high enough densities of Nanites - and their permission - we can leverage their abilities. It is why I am able to be speaking to you. I don't actually know Colonic, but I can speak it to you thanks to the Nanites. I can also read their text readouts."
"Will that happen to us?"
"I do not know. It is up to the Nanites, I suppose." Coreanth turned and stepped away from the dias. "Come, they're just through here."

WIP Wednesweekend: Summer Challenge Edition Part Deux, Electric Boogaleux!
Borrowing the poll + modified rules from @steves-strapcollection! I'm still focusing on my Summer Challenge fics and still have a whole bunch of asks from last week sitting in my ask box, so I'll just loop those in for this week.
The Rules
I post the two remaining prompts I claimed and have left to fill as a poll
Y'all vote in the poll and send me asks requesting a snippet of the fic of your choice
For every vote a fic receives, I will commit to writing 100 words on that fic. For every ask I receive, I will commit to writing an additional 100 words. (So if one gets 10 votes, and 5 asks, that's 1500 words) [If I have existing asks in my inbox from the last round I'll count those, too! But certainly feel free to send in another ask even if you've already done so!]
At the end of the weekend, I will have completed fics to prepare for posting by the end of the month hopefully one completed fic and a hefty amount done of the other! (The Rockie fic has become a beast)
I will post a snippet of what I wrote and tag everyone who requested a snippet!
And A Cure for All That Ails You is already up, ICYMI!
The Snippet
from the opening of the firmament in you
Robin stares up at the ceiling, the glow-in-the-dark stars she’d affixed there when she was eight winking back at her. The only sound she can hear is the hum of the box fan in her window, and the rasp of cicadas beyond it. She’s resolutely refusing to turn her head to the side and face the taunting numbers of her clock staring back at her.
Every time she closes her eyes, she sees smug faces glaring down at her her. Feels Steve’s dead—not dead, just slack, just passed out—weight strapped to her. She invents horrors that never happened. If she keeps her eyes wide open, she only catches it in snatches and brief whispers.
Who needs sleep, anyway?
She thinks maybe the meat monster spider should be getting more traction in her insomnia nightmares. There are certainly times when she squeezes her eyes shut and fireworks burst behind them to a soundtrack of shrieks and groans and echoing fears. But those images have been haunting her less than the memory of the cold fear that gripped her chest when she thought for a moment she had a corpse tied to her back.
Tagging enablers!
I'm tagging people who sent asks last week + my usual enablers! @spicysix @xenon-demon @devondespresso @wormdebut @eriquin @theheadlessphilosopher @delta-piscium @bifuriouswaterbender @starryeyedjanai @inairbinad @patchworkgargoyle @scarcrossdlvrs

Galactik Football season 3 rewatch, eps 19 - 21
Episode 19:
Hush Sharky: I should've picked Mark, nothing exciting will ever happen following Thran!
Is that meta
Well this romance between Mark and Nina-8 is progressing quickly huh
Nina-8 says it's hard for her to trust others hmmmm
And there we have it, an explanation for Ahito's sleepiness – he stores the Breath within himself, which can wear him out. Pretty cool, although it does bring up some questions. Does his dad do that too, since he has the same problem? How did that excess get released before he started playing Galactik Football? Why is he just doing better now I don't think we ever actually covered that in season 2
Tumblr media
OK imagine you're chilling having a normal conversation and your friend just does a backflip out of nowhere. I would definitely be reacting like D'jok hahah
Thran: I'm coming with you Clamp! Clamp: No, it's too dangerous!
Thran: But the writers said it's MY turn to have a fun adventure with the pirates!
Thran really said, if the writers aren't gonna give me any interesting sideplots, I'll do it myself! RESPECT.
Artegor (completely deadpan): I am excited. It doesn't show?
HE'S JUST LIKE ME FR FR
Ahito covering for Thran is so cute, of course Thran would let his brother know
Why ARE the Paradisia girls referred to by their numbers?
Huh, this data link thing that the Paradisia players do is pretty cool
This hack for the space port entry code is pretty dumb but it's fine I'll just insert some star trek technobabble here in my mind. Aaaaand done, GO THRAN! And yaaaay Thran the Pirates fan gets approval from the man himself
A rare corner kick!
Tumblr media
I don't know anything about football but this goalkeeper goal seems kind of bullshit to me. Like was that necessary?
NOOOOO WARREN :( Barry calling it an end of an era, I guess it's not just the Snow Kids who get that press treatment after losing a match. But the Lightnings haven't been to the finals in three seasons and Warren is probably getting older :(
Team Paradisia slayed though
Awww poor Nina-8 :( Hmm what plan is Nikki-4 talking about, I don't remember much after the Paradisia tournament. I do like the conflict between the two, they may be twins but Nina-8 has a much softer personality than Nikki-4. And with her not being on the team until D'jok left, I wonder if she was already trying to distance herself from them a bit and try to live her own life. Which is pretty symbolic for an identical twin.
Well Mark's love drama has more potential than the love triangles they were doing until now, if only they'd given it more screentime and development
Hush Sharky is kind of underreacting for a journalist who just found out a galaxy-class footballer and his coach are in cahoots with the leader of the pirates
Again, the budget of this show might be low, but they actually have quite a lot of locations and the background art is always really good.
Sonny taking his mask off on Paradisia because he saw some plants sfjkdfssf that was unnecessary, he's so extra! And they're lucky the weather conditions are still perfectly fine for humans.
Episode 20:
I guess Mice Delight is delicious to robots only haha
D'jok Mei and Micro-Ice being besties ahhhh I love it
Mice is playing a delicate game? Since he lied to Zo-leen so he could hide he's going to meet Yuki, what are they implying there?
Oooo 3-2 to the Xenons! The Rykers really gave them a run for their money!
STEVENS INTERVIEW! STEVENS IS GONNA TALK EVERYONE SHUT UP!!
OH THEY FUCKED UP HIS DUB VOICE. NEVER MIND.
But seriously Callie should get a raise for finding them LOL, nice little animation touch of him looking around the whole time he's talking to her. Sir you would be harder to spot if you weren't wearing your football kit. It's ok, yeah I know the animators don't have the budget. Hang in there, buddy
Stevens top scorer in the cup!! It might seem strange with him not having a flux, but it seems reasonable to me considering the Pirate's style of play. They always score at least one goal in their games, and he's pretty much always the one who does it. For other teams, the goal scoring is a bit more shared between different players. Plus it's still early in the cup.
KING. I LOVE THIS INTERACTION. Stevens keeping it real even before the Technoids showed up, I'll say we've had some good Pirates moments this season
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm are they suggesting Micro-Ice is two-timing between Zo-Leen and Yuki? Uuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh.................
And since when was Zo-Leen all over Micro-Ice again anyway? She seemed just friendly during the Paradisia tournament
Why is this friendship between Harvey and Lord Phoenix actually kind of cute?
Awwww the Snow Kids are the best Yuki fanclub
These seats at Genesis stadium aren't actually seats, it's more like an amphitheater and they're not very comfortable. No back rest!
Tumblr media
I love Stevens's goals, obviously he can't just use the flux to smash it so his style is more technical
ASHDFJSDF in this season you can hear the Pirates celebrating (and also grunting while running?) and it's so silly, they just gave them stereotypical gruff pirate voices
Games between other teams are funny because there will be like. Exactly one new animation in the whole game. Literally everything else is stock footage
This soundtrack slaps by the way
The Pirates goalkeeper's signature head shake lol
Sorry guys I love Yuki I really do but you know who I'm rooting for
The Elektra's flux confuses me, it looks solid enough for them to ride on it?
This season is really just dunking on Barry whenever they can huh, Artegor's laugh and trying to pass it off as nerves SDJFKDFS I LOVE HIM THANK YOU VOICE ACTOR FOR NOT LEAVING
Tumblr media
Oooo that water skating trick does look really cool! I like that since season 1, we've seen more creative fluxes
Well as much as I love the Pirates I'm happy for the Elektras, and Yuki! She's come so far from her nervous self in season 2 and I'm so proud of her
TIA SECOND TOP SCORER YESSS!!! I would go back to check if the number of goals is actually correct but I cba
If I had a nickel for every time a romantic breakup has happened this season at the taxi stop with one of the parties telling the other to forget about them, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
AND NOW MICE IS HAPPY JUST BECAUSE ZO-LEEN KISSED HIM?? YUKI ALREADY KISSED YOU IN SEASON 2! YOU JUST FORGOT ABOUT HER NOW? YOU DIDN'T EVEN CARE FOR ZO-LEEN This love plot with Mice is so stupid I can't even be bothered to comment on it anymore.
Episode 21:
D'jok seems to be perfectly back to normal and on friendly terms with the others as if nothing happened. Compare to season 2 where Rocket's Netherball stint had consequences and his return was not so smooth!
Ahito you couldn't think of a better excuse for Thran leaving? 😂 I do feel like we could have had a better reason in the story for Thran ending up with the Pirates, it IS a bit weird that he says he has to go on a mission with them but he doesn't actually have a reason to, and this is before the SEMI-FINAL. That's a bit too important to be sneaking off because... you just want to?
Tumblr media
I need this screenshot in good quality
I love that Bennett being the hacker guy is a thing that's consistent throughout the season
Lord Phoenix somehow grabbed literally all of them at once sijfsdkdk except Harvey. Fuck robot rights I guess
Warren coaching time! I love how he's always willing to lend a helping hand for these things, whether it's giving D'jok a talk about what's important in season 1, trying to get Rocket out of Netherball in season 2 or helping with training here. What a guy, truly Mr. Galactik Football
Huh, that's an interesting little way to use the Lightning's flux. It's like static electricity keeping them together
Tumblr media
sfdkjdsf I would do this too. Actually I do do this to my short friends. I'm also short but they're shorter so I gotta take my wins when I can
Micro-Ice and Tia duo! I love them I wish we saw more of them as a fun pair, they would get up to such hijinks together. Sibling vibes!
Emo Mark hours
Well, you tried Mice. Maybe try to get him to open up about his problem instead of just trying to cheer him up?
Clamp: No, that's not it, it's- Sonny: What is it, Clamp? Say something!
Clamp: BITCH I WAS ABOUT TO BEFORE YOU INTERRUPTED ME
Nice one Brim Simbra, I like that we got to see him actually doing something lol
This dilemma about Adim and Aarch's relationship due to her being league president was never mentioned before, why did they never consider this? Should've built that up earlier instead of that random Artegor plot
Lord Phoenix: Paradisia was such a beautiful planet
Idk man it doesn't look THAT bad right now, the UK looks like that every day
I can't show the video because I used my 1 video per post limit for Stevens talking but there's this super fucking weird segment where Nork says the Elektras-Paradisia match will be the first all female semi-final ever, and Barry dreamily says this is a "fantasy" GFC? And Nork is like "you said it! Team Paradisia...." in this dreamy way again and Callie has to cough and change the subject? Hey what the fuck was that???? This season tried to be more blatant with the girl power messaging but then puts in moments like this?????
YAAAAAAY XENONS TIME
Wait Thran is in this teamup shot? Did he already get back?
Tumblr media
Oh I really love this interaction between D'jok and Luur before kickoff – no intimidation dance from the Xenons, just a meaningful handshake between a guy who almost plummeted to his death last season, and the player that saved him. Idk if the writers were intentional with this but if so, it's a really nice example of subtle writing and events of the previous season carrying over.
Wait yeah the Pirates aren't back yet! In which case, Aarch is pretty chill for a coach who is missing a player for A SEMI-FINAL MATCH. Eh I guess at this point he's just given up with these kids
Oh damn Brim Simbra actually died, I like that they went through with that so the explosion on Paradisia had consequences. Could have also opened up some interesting avenues with the new flux society leader in season 4 – maybe he'd want to do things differently?
But it's also kind of hilarious that Brim Simbra's very last action as flux society leader... was to delegate the galaxy saving to Sonny Blackbones yet again LOL

ARE YOU SURE?
Tumblr media
⚡︎ . oc content :: evadne ♡ xenon
⚡︎ . when there is something you simply cannot understand, it is always better to just ask. // Evadne returns injuried from a mission, and as Xenon treats her, her mind wanders.
⚡︎ . dipping my feet into the waters of tumblr! one shot with my favorite pair of first generation lovebirds. ajdhcjdhsjfjdkshdh they’re definitely peace from folklore . would it be enough if I could never give you peace?
Tumblr media
SILENCE had always been an eery, chilling noise. Deafeningly loud, it would plague Evadne's mind, and taunt her of all the nameless horrors to come. It did not matter how farfetched, for it would always end with her sobbing, uttering nonsense in Xenon's arms.
This time, she did not approach him with the intent of having his love soothe her fears. She'd been injured after a particularly rough mission, and he had chosen to stay behind and treat her. The quiet he brought did not phase her—did not haunt her like it usually would. Maybe, it was because it wasn't entirely noiseless, due to the sound of twinkling his potions would make when he stood to grab something from the stacked shelves.
Or maybe, it was the way she found her own tired gaze following him wherever he went. Her mind eventually lost itself in thoughts of him, his care, how he eyed her bloodied self with such concern it might as well have been pity. But he knew how much she despised it, and like so, she never saw an ounce of it on any of his rarely seen expressions.
For once in her life, she was not plagued. Her mind, in all its mercy, let the quiet shimmering, the footsteps against the hardwood floor, the ripping of bandages fill her ears until the deafening silence was no more. She hugged her legs closer to her chest, letting her dirtied hair fall into a rest in front of her face. The muddy, sticky sight made her wince.
"I thought you didn't like dirt," she spoke up, and at the same time as he did, glanced up at him. They locked gazes, and she held his, intent on getting an answer to her questions. "Am I special?" she jests, her voice muffled by how she'd buried her face in between her knees.
He hums, his eyebrows raising briefly in curiosity. He holds eye contact for only a moment more, before returning his attention towards treating her many injuries. This one, a sprained ankle, and she barely misses how his eyes darken at the sight. She chalks it up to her mind playing tricks.
"Its fine," he responds, bluntly, carefully gripping her heel to wrap potion soaked bandages around it. He falters the slightest, however, when she winces. "Are you okay?"
She nods firmly, her cheeks tinted red in embarrassment. "Nothing I can't handle. But, you, are you.. you're staying behind for me."
"That, I am," he says, then points out, "You sound surprised."
"Well, don't you have anything better to do?"
She raises her eyebrows, when Xenon huffs out in amusement. "If I had something better to do than treating my own wife, then, I wouldn't be a very good husband, would I?" He pauses to stare at his work. Satisfied, he sets her foot down, and looks up at her again. Worry swam in her lovely red hues, and his heart aches, pondering why. So, he asks,
"Tell me," his gaze softens, and so does hers. "Why do you ask such nonsense?"
"I didn't really.." she trails off into stammers, "That's, I was– I just didn't know, if.." she lifts her head, and its then does he see her small frown—a pout. He'll call her cute for it another time, when she's not so upset. As to why she is, though, he's yet to find out, so he guides her.
"It's okay, take it slow," he says, taking her hands into his 'til they rested on his palm. "Now," the corners of his lips upturn into a slight smile, encouraging her. He sees her eyes light up. "What is it, my love?"
"Are you sure about me?" she says, subconsciously shutting her eyes in fear of his reaction. ".. about us. I am everything you dislike, Xenon," 'I am dirty. Reckless. Dangerous, unpredictable, I am the Harbinger of Chaos. You, who is always so composed, who wants perfection above all..' "I don't.." she trails off, again, her words lodged in her throat. '..understand.'
"I am." He responds without missing a beat, his eyebrows knitting together out of concern. How his heart ached—who dared to put these kinds of thoughts in his wife's head? No, who else but him? "Eva, should there ever be a time where you doubt my words, I hope you would tell me like you did now."
"No matter the messes you get into. Know I will always be by your side." He lifts her hand to plant a kiss atop her bruised knuckles, "Nothing you do will ever deter me from loving all of you."
Her heart aches with a hopeless, unfulfilled pain, much like his did earlier. It aches, because despite his words, her doubts are not quenched. "What if, someday, you.."
"Then I will love you again," he says, "And again. I will fall in love with you, as I do everyday."
She falters, her bottom lip quivering. His lips on her fists, once so bittersweet, now felt like butterfly kisses on her bruises. The warmth floods through her heart, and the darkness in her mind relents. ".. You.." she sighs. He chuckles at this, his pride beaming after he's able to render her speechless.
"Are you okay, my love?" He pulls away from her hand to stare firmly into her eyes. Her gaze can only soften in defeat, "I am," she smiles, "I'm sure." Relief washes over him, and its told by how his shoulders visibly relax. She pretends not to see such a thing. "Then, let's go, alright? You need rest, both physically, and mentally.."
"Must I need the physical rest?" she sighs, "I feel as if I'd be better immediately if I were to.."
"Evadne," he scolds, with a smile on his face. "Enough. Let yourself rest."
".. You are absolutely sure I need it?"
"You little vixen."
