#sims policy

I had a lot of things lined up to upload on my patreon. These included teen aspirations, a variety of other aspirations, a complex zodiac mod, the entirety of my likes and dislikes mod as a collection. Patreon and early access was, and is, my only source of income.
I have an autoimmune disease and I am on immunosuppressants. My autoimmune disease means I am in pain daily, and so getting a job that requires me to leave the house would be extremely difficult. Furthermore, I have severe depression, anxiety and agoraphobia, so leaving the house is near on impossible for me anyway.
Of course, this is not EA’s fault or responsibility! 😂 I am not complaining, because the sims have a right to set out whatever policies they want for a game they own. But, I am concerned. I enjoy making mods, but I’m not sure it will be feasible for me to continue if early access isn’t allowed anymore. I would continue to make mods every now and then, I’m sure, because I enjoy it, but I wouldn’t have the time to dedicate myself to it the way I do now, if I have to look for another way to get some income. I really hope the sims team give some clarification on this.
In the meantime, I will keep working on the mods I already have in progress. Thank you for all the love, as always 💖

Thoughts on EA's policy change on "obscene content" and Pay Content
This probably won't be of interest to people other than simmers who are very involved in the community so keep that in mind before you read but...
While the drama that is resulting from the policy change is funny, I do wonder what the long-term consequences will be. I also wonder how likely they are to act on the policy? Is it entirely for show? Is it going to be enforced only when they're pressured?
I'm also curious what EA's definition of "obscene" is. Turbodriver, the developer of WickedWhims, seems nervous enough about it that he's already updated his mod to exclude teenagers from sexual activities (as well as some other changes) but will that be enough, I wonder?
Since people can be reported by community members it also makes me wonder is going to rely primarily on the community to report things. Also will the retroactively impact older games?
I doubt that this is going to make any major impacts overnight but I do wonder if it will change the economy of CC creators. While I suspect many will just move to alternative under the table forms of payment if this IS enforced, it will make some leave. That will likely mean less CC for the TS4 community overall, but it will also mean being less inundated with shoveled out 3D models hastily converted to TS4.
Those who work on commission will be a lot better off since it's a lot easier to pay a single creator for a piece of content and hide that but since many patreon creators were simply flipping 3D models, that would be difficult to do.
I mean, this could lead to nothing. It could be that this policy change is just on paper as it has been before but with a way to report users and Turbodriver being nervous enough to change core parts of his mod, it makes me wonder.
This does make me wonder if we'll move back to an environment of passive income based on website ads? Many websites that make pretty massive income (think MTS) are completely free but make good money allegedly.
I guess only time will tell. While this won't end either paying for mods or mods that are considered "obscene" EA can't really control the player base so it mostly means that much of this sort of content will just be shared under the table and will make pirating it easier to do.
If they DO enforce the policy they may decide that any explicit sexual content is obscene and send C&Ds to TurboDriver and functionally drive WickedWhims and sexual mods underground. That would be quite a turn of events.

The smugness some of the cc creators I see who do early access immediately going “gUESs iT wAsNT sO cLEAr AfTEr aLL” when someone posts about EA clarifying that early access is still allowed is so annoying. People are making it very clear they don’t give a fuck about the community and just see members as dollar signs. I truly hope people stop supporting these cc creators because this whole drama has been very eye opening.

Quick Note - EA Policy Change
Since all perma-paywall CC will now be made free and it won’t cost someone $300+ to pledge and download the ungodly amount I’ve amassed over the years to load my builds, I’m going to release the popular ones once I’ve finished running batch fixes, updated certain rooms, etc.  I’ve never created early access or exclusive CC and only take donations via Patreon, or the odd private commission, therefore none of EA’s TOU changes will change how I’ve chosen to release content over the years, apart from making fully furnished builds more accessible for those of you who are interested in them.

There...
Tumblr media
It's clear enough to see. Perma-paywall is out... crap like ad-*ly are out... using Sims 4 like text, sims 4 like style and sims 4 like logos including plumbob is out... basically they're asking you not to advertise your stuff like it's part of their stuff.... early access is ok... long as things are free within reasonable amount of time...which drake mentioned 2-3 weeks back in 2017 via this post.
Tumblr media
I think we need a full on timeframe in the policy section to be absolutely clear beyond a shadow of a doubt, but I hope this can help folks decide the best course of action for them.
Not everyone was abusing stuff... Some folks were legit... and I think it's time to have EA clarify the timeframe and be done with this thing. Sending hate mail and death threats to people is not ok.

How do you feel about having 3 april fool games of yourself? (Kuudere Simulator 1,2,3)
Also- there was supposed to be a Kuudere Simulator 4, but Yandev never released it :0
hmhmhmhm... if senpai wants me to notice him, he'd better kneel down and lick my shoes~
Just kidding, of course. Kuudere Simulator is a game. It has a second and third installment. It has characters in it. Osana is one of them. A fourth installment would be overkill.

I ended up fishing until I was near about to pass out. Oops. Since no one was around my lil island- I figured it was time to live a little. A nice nude nap in the sun that had appeared.. I woke up ~glowing~ quite honestly. I rinsed off the sand I had managed to get everywhere and did a small amount of beach combing for anything remotely good.

Thank you for the inappropriate trait mods, I'm laughing so much with my sims really being non sense now
Of course, you are welcome @crawling-on-rye! Happy to have helped change how the game works for you! I can't help but thank users within the modding community for their mods, and the community for their ideas! The mods give me an idea of how to implement the mods that have made their way into the community, especially if there was a community member for their ideas. Which is segue to say now: anything that I have made, whether it be a mod or a piece of CC to plop in your Sims' homes, my policy is that you may do whatever you'd like with the stuff I post as long as it remains free. I no longer consider the things I make to be mine, they now belong to the community!  I don't own EA code. lol I will keep the naming convention going so you can track down something I’ve made if there are any questions or issues. So if you'd like to see how I did something with these mods or CC, feel free to poke and prod away.

I'm glad to see that EA has finally taken a stance on mods in the community and have stated that they shouldn't be commercialised.

WCIF: Bed poses (thinking and talking)
I'm looking for a pose for a Sim lying on a bed lost in thought. Most poses I find that come close depict the Sim with their eyes closed. I need them open. I don't care whether the Sim is lying on their back, front or side.
Secondly, I'm looking for poses depicting two Sims talking on/in bed. Either cuddled up or next to each other. I have used the in-game animation for this before, but I need more.

SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE
I don’t support ANY PATREON.
EA was very clear about that already years ago: as it is not original content of the game you can NOT speculate on it.
They only accept early access’ which are then released publicly within a few weeks.
Tumblr media
With this I do not want to minimise the work of you creators, at all! Instead, the quantity and quality of the work you create is considerable and we all thank you for your work.
But not everyone can afford to support dozens and dozens of individual patrons, not for this reason they are less deserving to play the game at their best.
The type of subscription that "the sims resource" offers makes more sense, where you pay for early access to millions of users.
I hope you understand this little rant, but it has been a long time since I have been postponing and now the time has come as the amount of people who have moved to patreon in these two years is enormous.
Have a nice day, paws 🐾💕
(and don’t unfollow me plz 😂)

I miss when mods were something you made on ur freetime after a long day at school or work or on a lonely weekend because you felt something was missing from your game, and that you shared with the community because you figured maybe someone else might enjoy having it in their game too.
Glad creators are able to make some extra money of their contributions, but those of you trying to make a living off edits of someone else's licensed work... and getting MAD when that someone tells you not to??

Me watching the creators of paid cc and mod go crazy on Twitter and Tumblr, ranting on the new EA rules while I fear that many will stop making mods and cc's because they are not getting paid because apparently I found out I follow many modders/cc creator who do cc and mod just for the gain and who clearly said they will stop doing it if they don't make money
I won't mention names but I can't deny I'm disappointed. While I supported that creators could earn a small amount for the work, now it annoys me enough to find out how many take advantage of the community.
I've been quiet enough for a long time because having NEVER paid for a cc or a mod but always waiting patiently for the public release I didn't feel in a position to speak but after discovering that the maximum of Early access could be 3 weeks but having waited 4 months for a lots of cc of different creators and that there are creators who ask 90+ $ a month for new meshes I feel quite annoyed

Here we go again...
Yeah, popping out just to tell you  ̶a̶l̶l̶  some of you creators out there:
1 I see that some of you “furbi” still do not want to abide by the rules;
2 Many of us are not going to pay for your VIRTUAL content (we already paid TOO MUCH for the shit The Sims 4 is);
3 You do not follow EA’s policy upon releasing custom content/mods FOR FREE, this means I will not follow YOUR rules and steal your content from other sites (again, FOR FREE).
Got it now? You’re welcome.
Have a good holiday time and happy New Year (with LOVE, but just for all of you special creators I support and truly respect)! ^__^ 💖
