You know how people rag on about Type-Moon never collabing with outside works for Fate/Grand Order? It's all fate, except that one time they added Arc who is still Type-Moon.

tag nine people you'd like to know better

I. favourite colours: Orange, green, blue and yellow.

II. favourite flavours: Rye, fish, curry and mango. Oh, and also seafood.

III. favourite genres: Fantasy, action, sci-fi and autobiography/sth based on a real person's life. Talk shit all you want how some of that is ignoring some details to make it more grandeur, it's more interesting to me than the basic TLC content.

IV. favourite music: It's in general pop and/or europop with some variabilities like Linkin Park & old bands like Genesis. I tend to prefer bands what have varying chords and melodies and can sing decently both on record and live. (Also fr, if you ask me if Eurovision music is in that list the answer is yes. Most of the songs are bangers.)

V. favourite movies: As of late it's Imitation Game, Hercule Poirot and Haunting of Venice, and Spirited Away.

VI. favourite series: Regarding video games it's Yakuza, SMT, Project Moon games, Kirby and Zelda.

VII. last song: Land of Confusion by Genesis

VIII. last series: Either YGO's 2nd season (Battle City arc) or Air Crash Investigation.

IX. last movie: Detective Pikachu's movie adaptation. I had seen it once before and yeaaah I can say that it's WAY different to the game. The protags are different, the side NPC reporter is different and the list of allies is different and the vibe is waayy different. (Also the timing it takes place is different. Movie has it after 2 months, game has the 2 weeks - 1 month.) In hindsight it wasn't as mediocre as I remembered but after playing the game I preferred the calm vibes of the point-and-click 3D Sherlock Holmes game.

The FAIRYLIGHTS! Everyone's favorite offputting and questionably racist Wild Arms enemy! Hooray! They're so named after what I guess we'd now call christmas lights, that or I guess some places still call them fairy lights. They were originally developed as a part of costume/prop design for the opera, Iolanthe. A neat thing to turn into a monster, I just wish they didn't look like little sambo dolls....

WILL-O'-THE-WISP aka "Fairy Fire" among many many other names, is a mix of folk lore and actual phenomena, mostly chalked up to bog gas. Another name for the phenomena is JACK O LANTERN, and....

IGNIS FATUUS. It and RETRIBUTOR and DISTORTION make up a totally different enemy model that appears late in the franchise. There's not a lot to look at here really, but they're related as a concept. The other two seem super generically named.

LITTLE GREY are of course based on the classic alien sighting archetype, The Greys aka Grey Aliens, mashed up with the similar phrase Little Green Men.

ARIOCH a popular demon in various grimoires, tracing its roots back to the book of genesis. There's not actually a canonical or even classical depiction so I'm just throwing the SMT design in here.

BRIAREOS which should have been BRIAREUS was one of three hundred handed giants of greek lore, known as the Hekatoncheires(oh hey i just realized that's a different monster in Wild Arms entirely... I guess we'll get to them later...*) BRIAREUS is the more prominent of the 3, appearing most often by name and as a benevolent figure.

*You know what? what the heck, throw them in here too. HEKATONKAIL, which I realize now was clearly meant to be HEKATONCHEIR, is a weird one off enemy in WA1 that didn't make the jump to Alter Code F.

It shares a model with FALLER, which is actually phonetically closer to FEILER or FAILER, which I wonder given the design if it wasn't meant to be FAILURE, as in a failed experiment. Oddly that would make it a sort of spiritulal precursor to WA4's MISCREATION.

EGREGORI are the biblical "watchers" in the book of enoch, and as has consistently been the case with such biblical apocrypha, they have long since been rolled into any number of crackpot occultist and newage spiritualist movements in the centuries since.

Missed another one due to no screen shots: FASCINATION is a recolor of the IGNIS FATUUS. Also i realize now that I put the three orb monsters in the wrong rows, they should be shifted up one each.

Anyways, what do those two do when they meet up? Do they drink tea and gossip or smt?

hehe. they are very good friends! aeron likes the quieter types. genesis is friends with the bar dudes that dorian mentions, and erebus doesn't go out.

aeron pays a visit. they talk about art, the latest happenings in dorian's region, gossip, etc. dorian stocks his favorite teas for his favorite guests. they watch any storms, they talk about the people they've met. sometimes they get steamy.

aeron likes to fuck with dorian's eyesight so it looks like the muzzle's off.

It's difficult coming up with backstories for characters who had no history. They simply existed. I remember when Genesis the Roadrunner was just a useless, pathetic minion. Now I describe him like this:

Genesis was an all-star athlete until a devastating injury forced him into an early retirement. Unable to adapt to a life after sports, he fell into despair. Genesis wanted nothing more than to be able to run again. He volunteered in Dr. Jester’s mechanization experiment out of desperation. The young roadrunner got his wish, and has remained at the doctor's side ever since.

Great, now I feel sorry for him! He refused to rest his body even after he was warned of the consequences. He must've been in a lot of pain. This next description is for the present-day Genesis.

A mechanical roadrunner who works for Dr. Jester. Genesis is nothing more than a bully—arrogant and fiercely competitive. He enjoys belittling and tormenting others. Though it may be difficult to take him seriously, he should not be underestimated. Ever careless, he will gladly shatter his body before he admits defeat. He is convinced that Dr. Jester will always be able to repair him.

I feel less sorry for him now. He tried to prove his worth to Dr. Jester, but he was often unsuccessful. Genesis is one of the bad guys, after all. He can't win. Makes sense if he thinks Dr. Jester saved his life. He's a faithful roadrunner, isn't he?
