I've put thought into it.#Speaking of putting thought into things...I have put two full asses of effort into this. So I'm gonna talk about it in the tags.#I mapped all the major sects to hallownest clans and drew *way* more than just the characters shown here #More pertinently not shown are the Nies - Who are beetles!#The mantis clan has a lot of crossover with the Nies given the lore but I Love Mantis Wangji and you cant take him away from me.#wwx was a moth solely for his ties to Baoshen sanren (nearly forgotten sect & nearly forgotten clan)#but (HOLLOW KNIGHT SPOILERS) the ties to her radiance and the infection made for some very fun parallels #YLLZ moth 100% is puppeting husks around #JGS is a pale king expy becuase...you know....lots of children...#it also gives me a great excuse to explain wwx's soul taking mxy's body.#Still have lots and lots to say but I'm already running late! More funny - less specific to a very small population - comics to morrow!#This was more or less a style study and I learned a lot!#Thank you all for an awesome 6 months B*) You guys have pushed my way more out of my shell (pun intented) than I would-#-have ever gone had I just hidden away like I usually do. one of my favorite kinds of doodle: take the letters that spell out the name of a thing and use them to create the shape of that thing!!! (if you can't read any of these, they will be written out below <3)

going top down, left to right:

bone; butterfly; bee; joy; moth

kitty cat; snail; love; spongebob squarepants

eye; puppy dog; candy; wally darling; dolphin

hand; the element of kindness; lollypop; pencil

#dandy's doodles #word art #<- is that what it's called?#spongebob squarepants #fluttershy #wally darling #kin #not heavily tagging those guys cuz it seems unnecessary #anyway. i started doing this after being inspired by an artist friend at school #who would do this with the word fish and draw it everywhere (including the school desks!)#the first design i made was the bone one. and now i just love to doodle like this #it's such a fun exercise of creativity - in both drawing and writing letters #which letters will go where in the shape? how much can i distort this letter and still have it recognizable?#the shape and the letters then go hand in hand to form meaning #even if a letter is a bit squashed and misshapen you can still read it based on the word the shape represents #like yeah the b in bone looks really weird but you can tell it's a b because it's a bone #and the same goes for the d in hand #i think the hardest to read is moth. it was so hard to squish the letters in there #i'd recommend trying this out!!#a nice and challenging exercise is using a more complicated shape with a longer phrase #that's what i did with fluttershy and that turned out really cool!!! well i think so anyway :]

oh so when moth flight has kittens as a medicine cat and gives them away to strangers, one of which let his own son die and considered killing babies, because she can’t deal and somehow cant ask her clanmates to help, shes noble and brave and wise and shaped things for generations to come and she gets to die peacefully with all her children being like “wow mom that was so cool of you, we’re so happy and you are so smart and epic”, but when leafpool has kittens as a medicine cat and gives them to her sister who she knows wont mistreat them, she’s treated like shit by most people around her and shes so unforgivable that her children can’t help but snark about this at her funeral and shes almost sent to cat hell. ok

#no lets talk abt how fucked up moth flight was for that actually. like heres the thing atleast the three grew up together #at least they had a family at least they were happy. and they were too young to remember leafpool nursing them #so its understandable when theyre mad but leaf did what she could with the circumstances #moths kittens were attached to her and each other and her clanmates. and she ripped them from all of that #this was FAR from her only option like the rule wasnt even set at that point. her hand was not forced at ALL #yes she struggled but she was not by herself and she didnt have stigma around it stopping her #not to mention uh. clear sky held her hostage a few chapters before. he let his own son die over his pride.#hes considered killing kittens before for the sake of it.#but he ''deserves'' her child more bc he lost a son and this is so cute and wholesome for him #even tho he hates outsiders and treats them like shit #nah lets demonize moth flight a bit more for this bc she was actually so morally fucked up and in the wrong for this #and it drives me crazy how this is not portrayed as a heinous act but a bittersweet noble sacrifice thats shes rewarded for #ntm leafpool only suffered as bad as she did over moth flights actions.#echoed voice

#raven strategem #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #it’s been 3 years since I read the first one so I had definitely forgot some finer details #ngl. i dont really follow all of the military strategy stuff but like. yeah i believe you somethings going on here #book 3 I definitely vibed with more; I felt like I actually understood everything that was going on lol #(idk how much of that is the book itself and how much just the break between 1& 2?)#definitely missed Cheris; and missed the Cheris/Jedao dynamic...#I feel like there could have been a bit more of her even in book 3 #loved learning more about the moth drives and servitors and stuff. tbh I could have had more of that #obsessed with Hemiola. you give me a bot that makes AMVs of its shows of course it’s going to be my favourite #I don't have much coherent to say but this series is def interesting im glad i finally got to these!#great characters; fun at times (even if very heavy at other times)#also I appreciate how very queer and trans it all is

That collection took about a year to put together btw. All bugs (save for two which were traded to me) were caught and curated by myself . Which included spreading the moths so they look like that yes. Very long project that took so much of my time and energy but it’s over now 👍 yippie

#I started it very early so I’d have enough bugs to pass #technically the class it was needed for was only this semester but I started last spring #And good lird. It was fun but also so very tiring at times gjfnZngkgngk #So much pinning. So many moths spread. So many failed attempts.#You guys don’t even want to know how many more could’ve been in that box. And by that I mean I don’t want to know.#I stopped keeping track after too many failed moth spreadings #LOOK ITS HARD!!!! ITS HARD and I’m a baby.#But it’s over. Ooh, could I request something with a royal vampire Scriabin x vampire hunter or priest Edgar?? I just saw their outfits for day 18 and was like 👀 "I immediately love them", lol. My brain also keeps making a half connection between this concept and vampire moths, probably because of the Vargases' weird relationship with moths/butterflies since the diaryfic. So if you felt like including any butterfly imagery, I'd be interested how you would incorporate it!
