omg i've always wanted to ask you about lightsaber forms specifically what forms you think characters like luke, leia, rey and finn would master/specialize in? (also me 🤝 you specific lightsaber lore questions)

luke: i think in legends he used form v djem so, because he was literally picking up style from vader as he fought him. a weird kind of inheritance haha. i would say the shien variant of form v is a little more suited to luke than djem so, since it’s for use against blaster-wielding opponents e.g. stormtroopers, so it would be interesting for him to make that slight alteration to what he learned from vader. he probably has form iii soresu and form iv ataru elements to his style, from obi-wan and yoda. i would actually love to see him pick up form ii makashi because i think learning that elegance and control would be good for him and it’s such a traditional form so a nice way to connect to the old order. honestly i am a “luke is an expert who rediscovers and restores all the forms as much as he can” truther

leia: oughhhh... personality wise i think leia is very suited to form iv ataru but that very much relies on constant force use, which i don’t think leia would want to rely on. honestly i think that as luke’s first student, she would be likely to pick up form v djem so/shien, as it’s a very practical form and the thing he’s most sure on. she would like the part where you use your enemy’s strength against them. honestly this is just how skywalkers are. can’t keep ’em away from form v

rey: a mix of form iii soresu and form vii juyo/vaapad! these both come very naturally to her. form iii is a defensive, survival-focused style and form vii is powerful and unpredictable. i need to look up more lore for form vii, but it’s more of a mindset than a form, where you use intensive focus to sort of channel your inner darkness and your opponent’s fury? it’s a dark side technique without actually being of the dark side yourself and it’s (i hc) basically what she’s already doing on starkiller base

First Order Cadet FN-2187 held his blaster on training missions and didn’t feel at peace.

FN-2187 read mandatory missives about the inferiority of non-humanoids and didn’t feel superior.

FN-2187 stood at attention when Ren gave orders and felt a sense of dread and recoil and didn’t feel loyalty and awe.

FN-2187 maintained his posture when a trooper was “decomissioned” in front of him for failing to make enough kills on a mission. FN-2187 felt something cry out and extinguish as she died. He did not move, because aberrance was not tolerated.

But he kept sensing things after that moment. It was always vague, nudges helping his aim, a feeling of “INCOMING” when he needed to duck. The strongest sensations were when he touched people or their belongings, and he’d catch glimpses of their moods and intentions. It made him stand out in his training - a marksman, a high scorer on every simulation, on track to become an officer. But he could feel the wrongness of Ren’s order to fire on villagers on Jakku. He feels their lives extinguish. He does not raise his blaster. FN-2003 dies in front of him.

FN-2187 does not fire.

He frees a pilot.

The whispers start then. They start with FN-2000, who hadn’t hesitated to fire on Jakku. But Zeroes had watched FN-2003 die and Ren walk away. Zeroes remembers a trooper who had never turned his back on FN-2003.

FN-2187 did not fire. FN-2187 left the First Order. Eighty Seven was kind to Slip. Eighty Seven was a leader.

Starkiller Base fires on the Hosnian System.

The whispers move through the troops faster than the planets burn and die. FN-2187 did not fire. He was a stormtrooper. He did not fire.

A squad lays down their weapons a day later. All seven of them are immediately fired upon.

FN-2187 was seen alive. He did not fire. He lived.

Starkiller Base is hit from the inside. Only Ren is escorted to safety. The rest are left to die.

An entire company deserts. The whispers spread from inside the First Order. Chaos follows in their wake.

FN-2187 did not fire.

We heard about a Trooper called FN-2187, Jannah says to Finn. We heard he did not fire. We heard he joined the Resistance. And when they asked Company 77 to fire on civilians on Ansett Island, we remembered what he did. We didn’t fire. Do you know him?

Jannah says: I was TZ-1719. I am Jannah now. It would be an honor to fight beside you.

I think it’s really telling when people still talk about Starkiller/Galen Marek after like over a decade when the TFU is intentionally boiler plate and straightforward because it’s a video game. Meanwhile, people barely bring up any of the TBB or that Omega clone girl and that show been out for less than two years.
