I just read the plot of The Rise Of Skywalker for the first time and ????? what the fuck even is this movie. like first off, didn't Vader kill Palpatine like 30yrs prior? how is he here again? also like. why. couldn't they come up with some other bad guy that they had to reuse the one from like 40 years ago?

and then, why the fuck does Rey try to keep kylo ren alive? literally makes no sense. girl just let him die he's the worst!! and WHY does Leia die for him to live?? honey I'm sorry to tell you this but your son is a bastard and a bitch and you should've left him to die. and then, why does he even turn to help her in the end?? his "redemption arc" makes literally no sense bruh why. fucking Vader's redemption made a lot more sense than that.

also Rey is supposedly Palpatine's granddaughter?? I refuse to believe that old bastard ever got his dick wet, nuh-uh, no sir

so just. why. this movie was clearly a mistake and I know this without even having watched it. boo

What if Horizon 3 had some romance options like the AC games, feel like it could make a lot of people happy, including myself. (I'm more of a kotaloy guy, no offense to erealoy)

Oof I'm SO in on romance for hz3. It's GOTTA happen for the last game.

So far, horizon has had quite a linear style of storytelling (except for the optional deaths like olin, nil, and drakka/yarra, which in on themselves don't really affect Aloy's character/narrative like something as big as romance would) So if romance were ever to be inlcuded in the games, sadly I kind of doubt it would be multiple choice.

Romance would be a huuuuge step for a character like Aloy's, so having multiple options/endings regarding her chosen partner would just dilute the narrative and her writing for me. It would def hit harder if she were to make the choice for herself as her own character, instead of being chosen by the player.

I gotta agree that everyone getting their preferred ship might be the a nice option though! But personally, I'm more on board with the devs telling the story they want to tell without making writing choices for the fans, y'know? (Like for example, choosing the top 4 fan fave characters to be romance options no matter in which stage their relationships with Aloy might be.)

Like I said, the devs mentioned aiming for one linear narrative for horizon in the hzd guidebook, so perhaps romance with solely one non-optional character or no romance at all might be what we'll get? Either way, only one of those choices would do. All in, or all out.

Regarding who that character could be, guess we'll just have to wait and see!

it literally does not matter at all but i desperately need everyone to know that in star wars canon the color of a force user's lightsaber is more or less dependent on 2 most important factors: your alignment or role, and your skill. blue and green afaik are reserved for mostly light side force users (if you dont know much about star wars you can just think about this as "the jedi" i guess. its deeper than that tho) with blue for users who are more skilled with the seven known forms of lightsaber combat and use their physicality to fight the dark side rather than taking advantage of the force itself, while green is the opposite where a user is more skilled in force manipulation than lightsaber combat techniques. a red lightsaber is much much less nuanced and it's pretty much always sith or general dark siders. there are also other colors like yellow orange and purple!! yellow can be seen throughout the clone wars series (both of them) and have historically been wielded by members of the jedi temple guard who are/were verrryyyy dedicated to the jedi order OR by jedi who used to be members of the guard. either way it's all about dedication to the light side and protection n stuff. that's we saw rey with a brand spankin new yellow lightsaber at the end of sw:tros (2019) bc she dedicated her life going forward to protecting the legacy of the jedi like it's the same ideology even though the guard and the jedi themselves are long gone. orange lightsabers dont show up like. ever. except theyve been coming up more recently with cal kestis from fallen order and apparently a couple villains from ahsoka but that show looked like shit so i didnt watch it. its implied that orange lightsabers (and purple but ill get to that) have a color mixing and therefore greyer morality or an aversion to choosing sides than other colors. orange is yellow and red which implies some kind of balance between protection (yellow) and destruction (red). jedi master yaddle also had an orange lightsaber at the end of her life which i find fascinating for a jedi master but that was in legends so i guess no one cares about that anymore. or something. and it's a well known fact that mace windu (samuel l jackson) had a purple lightsaber bc and only bc he asked for one and they gave it to him. and ppl have been trying to logic this one into the lore for decades atp and its p much the same, like it's all about balance n shit w purple mixing blue and red which also implies that he's better w a lightsaber than the force which. ok sure i guess. but i dont think any of this color mixing stuff is canon bc green is already a secondary color so itd be an established mix of blue and yellow which could make sense if you really think about it for a long time which i clearly dont i mean take a look at this fucking essay of a post ofc i dont think about star wars. ever

I'm mentioning this again because like...,

Does nobody else think it's Supremely Weird that a bunch of studios in 2019 all had the same idea of killing off or separating their main cast?

Ralph Breaks the Inernet, Frozen 2, HTTYD:THW, SW:TROS, Toy Story 4, Avengers: Endgame, M. Night Shyamalan's Glass, and perhaps more.

The only possible common threads I'm able to pick out are: The kids are growing up, Out with the old & In with the new--it's the turn of the decade, Unga Bunga Destruction We're All Cynical Middle-Aged Male Directors,,

But what I'd really like to do is go into these people's brains and pick them apart on a personal basis. Because these all draw from the same exact uncreative baseless assumption that death/separation have to be the curtain on these franchises, and we'll potentially see the same trend just continue to play out in the future.

Additionally, the preservation of the inner child, rather than the sacrificing of it in order to "grow up," is a core tenet of the original messaging of these series and a subversion, in itself of the common cultural belief that one must shirk joy & community in order to shoulder responsibility and ascend into adulthood. And so to "subvert" it (the subversion) is to just return to the status quo, which is weak and dull compared to "preserve your inner child/rely on others" (especially in franchises aimed at children, but nonetheless immensely important to adults for the same reason.)

Adrian Harris being alive is equivalent to Poe in SW:TRoS saying “Somehow Palpatine has returned.” Like wtf??? Dude was a sacrifice. If he didn’t die, then the sacrifices shouldn’t have worked so how did the Darach get all the power???

Disney won’t allow a canon gay couple like Finn and Poe in Star Wars but they do have time to shoehorn in a kiss between a 19 year old girl and a 30-something fascist space Nazi who is responsible for countless deaths including his own father. Not to mention he called her “worthless” and “nobody,” tortured her, threatened to mind-rape her, physically and emotionally abused her (and her two closest friends), and tried to kill her multiple times.
