thinking about Rex serving with Luke during the original trilogy always fucks me up because, like. Rex tells Luke about what serving with Anakin was like during the Clone War, and then Luke has to tell him what became of Anakin. that he’s Vader.

not only that, but Luke literally witnessed Vader killing Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan, who Rex was closer with than would be expected, not just through Anakin and Ahsoka, but through the time they spent together on Kadavo.

Rex finding out that Obi-Wan is dead at the hands of Anakin Skywalker through his son is SUCH a fucked up thought, especially if right after, Rex has to go and fight AGAINST Vader. AGAINST Anakin.

it's like a mix of anger, feral, emotional breakdown, and complete sadness that just fucks me up soooo fucking bad.

it's like she's a pet who got abandoned by their owner but they see them again after years of sadness and depression of them being gone and leaving them like that and all that anger and sadness just manifest's into one bundle of emotion's towards them they cannot control.
