A 300-yard wooden railroad bridge in Central Texas fell after catching fire in a dramatic collapse captured on cellphone video Sunday. Lometa Volunteer Fire Department Capt. Jamie Smart said Thursday that nobody was hurt in the blaze in rural Lampasas County.
update: senior year at engineering school has kicked my ass. I hate it here 😭 but I finished DGS a few weeks ago and I have developed brainrot over a certain sexy angsty prosecutor. and drawing this over spring break has only made me Worse about him. not sure how much of this I’ll be able to continue now that I’m back in class so here’s what I have so far (plus bonus b&w version where I closed his eyes and … uh)
ART, visibly on the edge of a meltdown because SecUnit replied to a message from Holism with "k": i'm going to puke stop talking to Holism i swear to god. baby you're everything to me please please don't fuck Holism
“Red team was so selfish looking past the cursed team like that” listen man they were thinking about it often, and had evidence they were cursed too. They were convinced they were cursed too. Bad (with Pierre’s help I’ll be honest) singlehandedly destroyed any sort of civil relations and good faith between the two teams and this shot Blue in the foot when they tried to make the case about them being cursed last minute, about trying to rig it in the cursed teams favor.
There was never a cursed team in the first place, it was all a tactic to build paranoia and that feeling of betrayal and to get them to tear eachother a part. And it worked super well! At the end, neither would listen to the other about their evidence, not with an honest open ear, not with the willingness to think the other team could be cursed. It’s not a case of ‘Red just refused to listen because they wanted to win more than they cared’ they thought they were cursed too - if they were selfish, then so were Blue in the same way.
Every time Red had tried to talk first early on, it was met with extreme violence - and with Bad consistently proving he’ll play dirty to win, they didn’t trust Blue enough to listen to them in the later game. Maybe they should have listened then. Maybe Blue have listened earlier. The game worked as intended to set them against eachother.
i'm assigning my followers animation homework u have to study these two battle scenes and tell me why they're both so goddamned effective. i could tell u all the answers myself. but i want ur answers
see I dont think "it has substance, significance, and is not queerbait" is an unpopular opinion or something that qualifies as "brutal honesty" but then again I HAVE had non-atla mutuals go "oh, korrasami, I've had people tell me that it was queerbait" SO YOU KNOW WHAT IDK WHAT you people outside of my echo chamber have been telling everyone ✋😔
I do think people overestimate how mad Fearne is going to be about Orym’s deal. He’s moving in with Nana forever? She loves her Nana! She’s always intended to go back to the Feywild, maybe this moves her schedule up a little… maybe he’s a little further than she’d like, but Nana would never hurt someone Fearne loves. Now she just has to maneuver everyone else in her treasure box of friends back with her and Orym.
one of the main themes of trigun is the burden that Vash carries. imo, the most obvious burden is the guilt from the Great Fall, thinking that he’s partly responsible for putting humans on this desolate land and causing them to further exploit the plants.
but i’ve been thinking about Vash and the burden of hope ever since i finished the manga. for over a century, he’s carried this hope that humanity will get better. that they’ll prove Knives wrong and stop being so selfish. that they’ll stop fearing and hunting him, leaving him with scars. he’s been fighting for all these years because he remains hopeful, despite so many trying to break him. despite so many laughing in his face when they hear about his principles and what he’s fighting for.
yet for so long, he’s fought alone and he’s so used to fighting on his own. as far as we know, no one has ever decided to stick with him before the events of trigun. Luida and Brad have been supporting him from behind the scenes, but now he also has others who put their lives on the line and step into battle. he had Wolfwood, and there’s Meryl, Milly, Livio, ..
they all fight with Vash, not because they believe that he’ll fix everything or because they necessarily agree with his ideals and methods (see Wolfwood, right?), but because they see the hope for humanity that he holds and they want it to be true too...they want it to be realized. and they lessen the burden on him because now they’re carrying some of that hope themselves too.
it really hit me when i saw this panel of Livio shooting Chronica to let Vash + Knives escape, telling her to give him and us a chance. “us” as in humans.
[ID: Trigun Maximum panels of Livio standing over Chronica laying on the ground after he incapacitated her, saying: “...But I can’t let ya do that. I know you’ve been through a lot, but I ask that ya give him, and us, a chance. You won’t regret it. Oh, and welcome to No Man’s Land.” End ID]
it’s always been about Vash seeing the potential in humanity and hoping that with all he does, he’ll be able help them reach that potential.
and at the end of trimax, i hope that with many more humans believing in, and hoping for, a brighter future...that burden feels even less for Vash.
