Etho doodles in which I let my inner dinosaur nerd take over 😔 and also have no idea how to shade

Get it cause he's old and washed up haha... ok but actual raptor Etho hybrid justification below cut

To be honest the main reason was because I really wanted a hybrid in the mix who wasn't some furry creature and a reptile or amphibian or smth instead. Etho still ended up feathered but whatever it's close enough! But for ACTUAL reasoning:

He does feel damn ancient, like an old deity of the mcyt space that no one can dislike. Dinosaurs are the same!! They're old but still thought of with great fascination and fondness, everyone loves dinosaurs...

Dinosaurs are ever so mysterious, as many advancements as we make there's still so much we don't know. Just as we know jackshit about mister Kakashi skin man. Also, there are so many incomplete skeletons out there. I didn't have a particular species in mind for Etho, because where's the mystery in that? He can be one of those 5% skeleton 95% speculation dinosaurs like this guy!! Missing jaw and all

"I'm a runner, not a protector" - so, a raptor, or more specifically the Dromaeosauridae family, which literally has "running/runner" in its name

But! I'm always a fan of stuff going against its nature, especially in this case! Etho states he's not a runner yet protects his allies rather fiercely even in total silence. Eg refusing to kill Cleo in SL or to give away Tango's location during the LimL manhunt, same for Grian in SL. He was a bit flaky in 3L I think? And he only started to have genuine care for allies in LL with Bdubs? Though he is still very much a runner in many cases like during the LL Wither fight. Research also strongly suggests that most if not all raptors were solitary hunters, and the way I see Etho (through my shamefully limited watchtime of his POVs...) he feels a lot like someone who ultimately only trusts himself at the start even if he's pleasant and allying with others, and doesn't seem to think he can carry his weight in groups though he doesn't voice this a lot. That's just how Etho is, very composed, but it feels like there's an insecurity there, showcased especially in SL but again I haven't seen almost any of his POVs in full so maybe I'm talking out of my ass!! Sorry ethogirls I'm only a sidegig ethogirl myself... But yeah tldr to me he gives off the vibe of an otherwise solitary animal struggling to find 100% sure footing in a pack. In whichever ways he does go against his nature, its not usually made a show of

At the mention of a raptor, a lot of people will probably think of the glamourized Jurassic Park Velociraptors. But those awesome guys from the movies are actually the size of chickens. In general though, dinosaurs tend to be a bit.. exaggerated in media, despite how inherently fascinating they already are. And I think it fits Etho because we all know how the Lifers seem to fear and mancrush on him when he's just some dork with perfect capability to become pathetic at a moment's notice. Still, he's a clearly skilled player and still respected without question Etho's not some killer machine like some people make dinosaurs out to be. He's just a fellow creature fulfilling his role in the ecosystem 👍

It makes SO much sense. So anyway I turned him into a dinosaur instead rawr

As a herbivore advocate I also considered stuff like the triceratops (known for how they protect themselves and their own) but nah the raptor symbolism...

okay, so. i have loved pjo since i was 12 and this can definitely be explained also by the fact percy is so freaking hot. this days i was thinking about our boy and just have to share some of the stuff i thought about him in all this years. here we go with some headcanons of bf percy and percy in general;;

• i have a thing for silver chain necklaces. you know, one of this things every hot guy has? yeah. percy does wears one. his mother give it to him probably. and he never takes it off. it reflects the sun when he's surfing, stands out on his tanned skin, touches your face when he's on top of you kissing you or whatever else

• percy IS an nba obsessed. he will invite you to watch the games with him and will give you his personal opinion about the players, the moves, even the uniforms if you want to know.

• he secretly is zodiac guy. like, in front of his friends or any public conversation he will deny it. but if you're into it, and just says something like "our zodiact signs are compatible!" he'll be happy about it and feel like he's part of something magical, you know? like he's known all along that you're supposed to be together.

• talking about interests: he definitely will listen with heart eyes whatever you talk about. books? shows? basketball or another sport? celebrities drama? taylor swift folklore's love triangle? he's here for it. laying on his bed with you sitting by his side telling him about it, and he's just staring at your beautiful eyes and playing with your hair

• he also love movies. he has an letterboxd account which he is religiously active on. also, he give extra stars to the movies you watch togheter just because he is on a good mood.

• btw, when he's calling you to watch a movie, it is to watch a movie. boy take the movies thing really serious.

• he will be watching barbie AND oppenheimer. and he will take you to both.

My headcanon (?) of what Danny from Wayne's Haunted Mansion by @tathartiel would look like as a vigilante

I love this fic to bits and as everything I love I overthink about it, and I started thinking about what he would look like if he became a vigilante with the batfam. (considering Bruce’s track record, and Danny’s need to help, I feel like it’s inevitable lmao)

It’s mostly just a slightly tweaked version of his hazmat suit + a white clockwork style cloak. I made sure to add a lot of armor around the knees, shoulders, elbows and knuckles and not much else because id imagine like black bat, he doesn’t run in there like the others, instead waiting all sneaky like for the perfect moment to jump out of the shadows.

The mask was originally just the top part, which is shaped like the bat symbol if you couldn’t tell, but then I realized this Danny has a very noticeable scar on his mouth and I’m not about to pull a Jason Todd and have a major definable feature just hanging out (seriously dude cover your hair) so I added the bottom part as well. It does detach tho! So he can eat bat burger with the fam afterwards:) the eyes of the mask are either black or ecto green, which Danny controls by feeding ectoplasm into it. I saw someone do something similar in a fic but I don’t remember which one, but I thought it was cool. I also added it cus Dannys a ghost, he likes causing mischief and spooking people, it’s in his blood! And seeing two glowing green eyes appear out of nowhere in the shadows is very spooky.

Also we got service dog/guard dog Cujo, the best boy, and Nightwing congratulating Dove on his first patrol! “Good job on your first patrol, spooky!”(My handwriting is trash I would have fixed it up but eh). Why give him a scythe, you ask? Well, why not? In reality I doubt he’d use one in this fic but also he has an extremely rich and specialized family, if no one in the fam can teach him then they could easily higher someone. So why no :P

I definitely intend to color this, but I’m to lazy and tired rn and I just wanted to share cus this design has been plaguing me for a while. Luckily the sketchs turned out good enough to post 👍 I hope.

Her Bass

This bitch plays bass change my mind

She played acoustic guitar first but liked the way electric bass sounded more

Her bass was a hammy down from Eiji

He taught her a little but told her "if you do not learn from your mistakes, you have learned nothing" and left her to it

She started when she was 14 and the first day she played after 15 minutes she yelled "I GIVE UP!"

Then the next day she played again

Then did the same thing

Over time she got really good at it but she played differently then others because she had no help involved and learned what was best for her

She snapped one of her strings once and thought she broke the whole thing. She didn't even know they COULD break

She ran to Eiji having a whole break down and he just laugh

She got it fixed and felt like a dumbass

Her bass is this matt navy blue color and has a Japanese wave design strap.

She joined after meeting Ringo. He saw her bass in the corner of her room and bombarded her with questions and if she would join his band. She was anxious but said sure

Akemi is lead singer and plays the piano in some songs

First practice she spent it learning from Taigen which was super fun to watch

Akemi record so many fights between them its insane. She could ruin both their careers if she wanted to

Taigen got drunk before hand and almost ruined everything but some how it went well

He has special prosthetics for his drum sticks so he can easily snap them in. He uses thicker drum sticks so they fit better

His drums are a mix of things friends gave him and his first drum kit. He likes the different colors of his drums, he uses the symbols from his first kit because he likes the sound more then new symbols

Akemi

She plays a shit ton of things that her father wanted her to play, but when she was alone she learned she could sing

Her dad HATES that she's in a band that isn't basic. But Suki always supports her

She has a more higher pitch voice a bit like younger Billie Eilish but she sings like Lacey Sturm from flyleaf ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Taigen

He learned on acoustic first like mizu but he stuck to it

He started playing when he was 12 after finding his grandpa's old guitar in his garage and kept it ever since

Although he prefers acoustic, he plays electric for the band

His acoustic is this basic beaten tan colored guitar with old strings and a basic strap

His electric is this gorgeous shiny sage green color with a dark green strap

Part of an ask from @sherifintown that I answered privately, but I'll answer this part here! ok so here goes. Krueger tattoos, canon and hc:

Snake/ouroboros (headcanon). From my very old (summer of 2020) headcanon of Krueger having a snake tattoo around his thigh, and that I mention once specifically in Remanence. It became a (double) ouroboros because @chacha-tortuga had this brilliant idea, with its first appearance on this drawing of his. I hc Krueger got it post-mw19 as a matching tattoo with nikto 😌 it nicely encapsulates their relationship if u ask me.

Hyena/chimera (canon). not sure of what creature it is, it looks sick though. it looks like it has leather boots on the original ref. In my headcanon it's his oldest tattoo, that he got as a young adult. A hyena would fit. In my fics, I like calling it a chimera as a little nod to his squad.

A variation of some coat of arms (canon). It looks like the RU coat of arms except for the wreath held in the eagle's left talon, and I couldn't find an actual source on what this exact variation is? I don't have a clue why he would have that. Either a slavaboo phase or he got it while completely high because it looked cool and since he doesn't feel pain normally he didn't mind getting massive ink on what usually is a very painful tattoo placement LMAO. So I don't have a set reason. I hc he also got it before the military, in his early 20s.

Sword and bone (canon). vaguely threatening obscure warrior-like symbols. number is too small to be his killcount that's for sure. In my headcanon, he got it between the KSK and mw19 so sometime in 2018-2020. Perhaps to remember something.

Combat knife (headcanon). I don't have any sfw drawing with this. I hc him to have this right above his crotch for. reasons. 👍

Since I finally had the courage to start posting, I had to talk about this before anything.

Albert and William's relationship. (Hopefully Louis next 'cause he deserves so much more than what he gets in the manga)

This is really long so you may wanna scroll and move on👍, but if you are prepared to read through a probably hour-long ramble of these two then you're welcome and very much appreciated 🫶

⚠️Mentions of suicide/suicidal thoughts⚠️

Chapters 62-63 discusses it anyway so let's go by them:

Before William, Albert was sickened by the way society operates (the whole "upper class is yay and working class is ew" system). He tries to change things locally, since, as a child, his changes were small, helping out at the church, buying the kids at the orphanage books and donating money (in this case, asking his father?) for necessities.

He knows he, alone, can't change it and is actually satisifed with the fact that whatever he does would still make things better, even if a little.

His views about himself change when he comes across a man who stole bread. He pays for everything that man has stolen and gets him a job (at the church/orphanage), believing he had done the right thing. What does that man do? Try and steal the silver cutlery Albert brought for the church.

(Side note: I love the refrence to Les Miserables, a favourite french novel of mine, in which the mc Jean Val Jean steals bread but the kind Bishop of the town sees him and pays for everything Jean has stolen. The Bishop gives him a home, but Jean ends up repaying him by stealing the Bishop's treasured silver cutlery. Now that sounds familiar, huh. Jean is caught by the police and brought to the bishop to confirm whether or not Jean is lying about the bishop "giving him the cutlery". Instead of confirming that Jean was lying, the Bishop smiles and says yes he gave them to him, and proceeds to give him a pair of silver candle-stands saying "You left in such a hurry you forgot these". Concluding, Jean promises himself to live an honest, better life after meeting someone like the Bishop. (Jean becomes a symbol of equality between the nobles and the commoners, helping the poor and never patronizing it)

Albert hopes his actions are seen as that of the Bishop for someone. That someone would be so moved by Albert granting them a second chance, that the person would become better and try to better the world as well, and so he does that for the man. Though that backfires horribly, and the man kills someone/himself (it wasn't clear in the translations I read if he unalived himself or someone else).

This takes such a big toll on Albert mentally he decides he's the "wrong" one born into the wrong world, not the "right" one born into a wrong world. So he decides to unalive himself (reading that ch. for the first time hurt). But doesn't have the courage to, which makes him feel worst.

WILLIAM FINALLY COMES INTO THE PICTURE AND SAVES HIM IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE AND THE WAY THE WHOLE PANEL JUST GOES FROM DARK TO BRIGHT? ALBERT'S EYES ARE SO CLEAR UNLIKE THE PREVIOUS PANELS WHERE THEY ARE DARKENED.

William not only returns Albert's beliefs that the world itself is wrong, he affirms it, and the fact they haven't even spoken yet when this happened says alot about what's to come.

"He existed, here in the same world, someone with the same soul I had"

Excuse me while I sob about how much I love the characters' interactions and relationships in this series.

Anyways, Albert investigates him and finds out about the trial William won (that's a topic for another day for sure because that trial was lowkey funny to me). He realizes William is the one with the courage to change the world. And so he talks to him, and William's response further lightens up Albert.

WE'RE BACK ON WILLIAM BEING A SUN THING AGAIN, WILLIAM'S LIGHT NOT ONLY SHONE ON ALBERT. HIS BODY AND SOUL HAVE BEEN "BURNED" BY IT.

Ahem anyways, even though William had the "wisedom" and "courage" Albert desired, the "courage" wasn't enough to make that ideal a reality (at that time, Albert didn't actually believe William was serious about killing). He, Albert himself, also lacked that courage and wisedom.

That's why, he asks of William to give it to him, the courage, not just courage, but the courage necessary to kill and continue to do so until the ideal world is achieved. As well as the wisedom to achieve that ideal world through these killings. (since obviously killing without a thorough plan would just be pointless mass-murdering)

Now William leads the way for Albert by killing Albert's biological brother, og William, and I headcannon (since we don't see William's face while he kills for the first time) that William sucked it up and (maybe) showed Albert a relaxed/nonchalant face to make Albert feel better about doing what he wanted to do for sometime now but couldn't. With profound courage, Albert choked his mother to death.

Friendly reminder for the next few ones that William is canonically a "kind child".

Here Albert's interpetation of William as a child is a bit off (William later kindly refutes the whole "making no distinction between good and evil"). But it goes to show how Albert saw William, and seeing him in this kind of light heavies the guilt of what he asked of him.

I loved all the religious references in this chapter but the forbidden fruit Adam and Eve had is my favourite.

This panel ALONE says alot about just how important and precious William is to Albert. Albert also places more guilt on himself by saying that he ignored William's "screams" even when he knew. But the fact Albert knew in itself says alot because if there is one thing William never discloses about himself, it's what burdens and saddens him, so Albert and ONLY Albert knowing shows how much William trusts him. (again, William later states that Albert was actually the closest one to know of William's true grief AND comfort him).

Albert finaly realizes. The courage and wisedom he "borrowed" from William wasn't a one-time thing he used to take his first steps. All this time, he has been using it as a light leading his way and now that William is gone, he's lost again.

ALSO I MIGHT BE TAKING THIS TOO FAR (it's getting too much but I am an overthinker🤷‍♀️) BUT THE WHOLE LEFT CORNER PART OF THE PANEL BEING DARK AND THE "DOOR" SIDE BEING THE ONLY LIGHTED/WHITE SPOT. AND THE FACT THE ONE BEHIND THE DOOR IS WILLIAM. IT'S LIKE IT'S JUST YET ANOTHER INDICATION THAT WILLIAM IS ALBERT'S LIGHT.

okay so i've started watching Euphoria with my girlfriend (unfortunate for us since its trash) HOWEVER we have been coming up with an absolutely unhinged Saltburn crossover AU (we're only halfway through s1 so bare with me).

It's 2019. Saltburn's canon happened 12 years ago.

Guidance Councillor Farleigh, back in America, in his early 30s, having to deal with everything that's happening at that fucking high school

absolutely winded to meet this kid who's just like eighteen different problems in the shape of his dead cousin (Nate)

also hates this kid (for obvious reasons) but can't say that (because he's a guidance councillor)

Nate doesn't want to be seeing him but has to because he's being made to for various reasons

Farleigh makes a call to Oliver (again, twelve years since that summer at Saltburn)

In this version, Elspeth gives Oliver the estate and passes 10 years after that summer, so Oliver's been dancing naked and fucked up on coke and unprocessed grief and misplaced triumph for 2 years already.

Farleigh, knowing fully that both Nate and Oliver are unhinged and that Nate is probably just as capable of murder as Oliver is if pushed to it, knows this will go badly.

Either Oliver will take care of his Nate problem, or Nate will take care of his Oliver problem. Either way it's a win for Farleigh.

Except Oliver chooses the Secret Third Option and seduces Cal Jacobs (Nate's Dad) which for Farleigh is the nightmare scenario.

The worst part is that he has to act like he didn't orchestrate this situation.

Nate, furious in one of his sessions: - and this GUY who keeps HANGING AROUND MY FUCKING HOUSE keeps calling me FELIX even though I've fucking TOLD HIM NOT TO!

Farleigh, who knows exactly why Oliver Quick is calling him Felix and can't tell Nate why, and is also In His Own Personal Hell: Yeah That Sucks I Wonder Why He Does That, That's So Weird.

Oliver, because he's a little freak of a man who's still obsessed with Felix Catton and the Catton family has even more misplaced triumph because he's twisted it around in his head so he now has this idea that he's symbolically conquered all of Felix's immediate family (Cal taking the place of James who managed to "escape" him)

not sure what happens in the middle, but I do believe Maddy could take Oliver in a fight, and I also think she should be the one to kill him.

I think she and Farleigh are bros (in the way that you can be buddies with certain teachers) and he reassures her and helps her cover it up and get away with it.

Unrelated to Blitz and Fizz' relationship, are we gonna. Uh. Talk about how Fizz' scars aren't pure white? Blitz' are but Fizz' aren't (Blitz' scars are the same color as Fizz' foundation). I assume it's a stylistic choice to show that he hides his "undesired" markings here (the makeup comes off and shows his original markings, and having the area around it be different from his makeup better shows what's going on) and they're actually the same color but I thought it was interesting. Also the black of his horns is super faded out so...

And of course that whole scene with Ozzie was heart melting but enough people talk about that, so moving on-

I hope we see more of them honestly. Blitz becoming Fizz' go-to bodyguard/Blitz just sitting in the rafters of his shows waiting for someone to be Weird™ would be so fun actually. But also probably the first time Fizz has been so DELIGHTED to see Blitz kill someone they are everything to me.

Again I would need a whole video but Fizz ripping his clothes as he goes as he sings his "I fucking quit" song, I hope it means we get to see him out of the clown costume/persona (tbh it would delight me if he ditches it for good, ripping it up isn't very good symbolism if you're just gonna put it back on again). I think. Alaska’s favorite color would be blue. I have reasons.

For one, a lot of his state symbols are blue, and I’ve always associated ptarmigans with a soft light bluish greenish cuz my elementary school was fantastic and lovely and the school’s color was that and their mascot is the ptarmigan, it’s a native school

Second, he likes space… which has a lot of blue usually, I’m not really sure tho

Third, if he’s a whale expert he probably really likes sea creatures, not to mention having more coast than the whole lower 48 combined and surrounded by three seas and two oceans; plus, moose are known to actually love to swim so much so that orcas are one of their predators

I looked at a ton of native beading and kuspuks and a very very common color was blue and purple, I’m assuming it’s cuz it contrasts with the usually fur made clothing (I think Maine has gifted Alaska with really nice beads before, hopefully as a bonus they were not plastic, thatd be pretty cool)

tysm! if you're wanting info on how i decided to design them then prepare for a rant under the cut, here we go

Not gonna lie, 90% of my original inspiration for Raph's outfit came from mutant ninja midlife crisis and the battle nexus outfit F!Leo was given. I mean just the description alone made that outfit root itself in my brain for months it's so cool-

Obviously I didn't want to just copy-paste someone else's work onto my AU though, so I did my own research (which I went in-depth about here)

And for the rest of them it was the same process of researching different types of Japanese clothing and consulting The Archives (aka scrolling through the depths of pinterest) for design inspiration, then just throwing something on paper. So they're not 100% accurate to traditional Japanese clothing, I wasn't really going for accuracy as much as aesthetics, but the inspiration is clear enough I hope

Unfortunately, I don't have any specific references to share since these designs came from looking at tons of different pictures and artworks, but I'll go into a little detail on each one:

I wanted to keep the cloud motif but also give each outfit its own little special detail. Donnie of course had a dragon (mostly inspired by his association with the purple dragons), Leo's was the biggest deviation from Japanese inspo with the lightning bolts, which I think is Greek and/or Roman centric? And Mikey got lotus + multiple color privileges. A bit of a treat from one artist to another, lol

Cassandra's had the red sun as her motif, and for April I just reused her jacket's design. It looks a lot like the moon in the context of the outfit's design, which was pretty convenient. Not sure what importance the moon has, but it was a cool contrast to Casey's. And Sunita got cherry blossoms! Mostly because it fit her color scheme the best, though the symbolism didn't quite fit her character. Still, I think it turned out cute and that's what I was going for more than anything tbh

All I can say is to remember one thing above all else: pinterest is your friend but also do your research (especially if you're as culturally illiterate as me 👍)

Do you think the reason people like The Spot so much is because he’s kind of a sympathetic villain? Like yeah as the movie progresses he gets more evil and wants to ruin the life of this teen boy and he causes some destruction and seeks more power to do so, but I keep thinking back to the beginning of the movie where he’s just trying to steal money from an ATM because he was broke and homeless and couldn’t get a job. Like why does Miles feel the need to stop him so bad, considering he wasn’t hurting anyone at that time? What’s The Spot supposed to do to survive? Apply for government disability? And like sure he got into that life changing accident because he worked for an evil corporation or whatever, but under capitalism most people work for an evil corporations at some point. Do you think The Spot is so likable to some because of his tragic backstory? Or do you think it’s just his holes?

from what I've seen of how ppl act abt him on my posts a lot of ppl are calling him meow meows or whatever so I think ppl are going crazy just abt at the conceptual idea of a nerd guy that eats shit trying to rob an ATM and is funny and a "villain." So yeah I think kind of metaphorically a lot of ppl do just like him for his holes. Not to say everyone is being like that ofc ( I like him too) and yeah since all the concept stuff there is like this hes definitely meant to be likeable and sympathetic. (He also was probably like that for almost a year before even doing anything or crossing paths with miles)

(ALSO abt the ATM thing. I don't know if this is me crazy pattern searching but I noticed a lot of parallels with atsv and spiderman 2 which makes sense bc olivia octavius was the original villain for atsv before they changed it so miles had his own thing. i think the ATM part is supposed to mirror the part where dock ock is evilly robbing a bank and throwing people so he can buy more parts for his evil machine which I also think the spot was also doing because all he seems to be doing in his apartment is building dimension colliders, I don't think he actually has to eat or anything. Still doesn't excuse that miles was stopping a dude from stealing non aggressively but o well he's 15 and it's a spiderman movie and he's spiderman. Long parenthetical sorry)

I think the whole part where he gets more power/holes is also symbolic of him also not becoming human/himself anymore like most spiderman villains lose themselves to their own powers but also becoming the "plot." He was a background character (even according to that concept writing he was a background character in his own life treated unfairly by his peers) pulled to the foreground by miles for miles and I think the vision of spot hovering over a bunch of spiderman corpses means that only miles is supposed to fight him too. He's living proof that miles is supposed to be spiderman and that Miguel is wrong.

So yeah I think he's a cool character 👍

Loe, aka God, Lord, The Lord our God, Holy One, Him, Father, Father Thou Art In Heaven you get my point is… a character for sure! He is a fun one it’s very silly that i made the guy who’s supposed to be flawless one of my most flawed characters 👍

Anyway, he’s complicated, i’d say he’s doing his best but he really isn’t and that’s sorta part of his issue here :) His shirt also says “I’m God” on it

And then there’s Gavin! Aka Vinnie, Vincent (dubbed by Celeste, no ref for her yet), Satan, Lucifer, The Devil, Devil, The Devil From The Bible, Lilith in some cases, etc etc is also a complicated one but like. I think we knew this.

Now Vinnie is a trickster, a prankster, a scheming little guy, perhaps. His main thing is that he’s a really good liar, and really likes to use that fact to his advantage. Or in other words, he will just straight up lie to humanity about so so many things.

He likes to make himself out as a way worse guy than he actually is, he gives a different name every time he meets a new person, and he likes to just be silly in general. Honestly, get it dawg

He’s also got trauma, because well. We all know his story don’t we? And all that trauma has still been induced by the same guy from all the stories. This makes Loe’s and Gavin’s relationship extremely complicated, especially in the early days, but i’ll get to that lore post later 👍

There’s also that bird. Holy Spirit is technically also Loe, but like, a part that’s split off from him kind of it’s complicated. It’s a silly little bird that’s what it is :) Specifically, a dove, because symbolism and shit. It’s just kinda there sitting on Loe’s shoulder usually
