BG3 Tav Introduction | Jamil D'Oria

I have... about twelve other things I should be doing, most of them grad school related but the tadpole speaks to me and I must answer so here's some information I've been scrounging together for my Tav

Jamil (Alfonso Parsa) D'Oria, 41, with a noble background and member of the bard class, from the College of Lore

I've been developing him as an OC for about three years now and he is my beloved boy (even though he's about twice my age lmao)

Alignment: Neutral Good? with a bit of chaos sprinkled in there maybe

Gender/Sexuality: Gay man, he/him

Astrological Signs: Leo Sun, Pisces Moon, Pisces Rising

Romancing: Astarion. Of course.

I'm thinking he would be very close with Wyll prior to the game plotline or shortly into it just based on their similar upbringings

I do not know any DnD lore and I am currently not able to get a crash course in it so if anything I say about him contradicts it, don't tell me <3

Some fun facts about him!

Oldest of three siblings, has a younger brother Hakim and younger sister Eufemia

Part of a huge family on his mother's side, the D'Oria are an ancient established family with many many family members

He doesn't get along with his mother and travels as much as possible to avoid going home and back to his duties as the oldest son, however at this point she's all but disowned him and focuses on Hakim instead

His instrument of choice is a guitar gifted to him by his favorite aunt when he was a teenager that he would protect over his own life

Trained in sword-fighting as a teenager/young adult with his uncle, a world-renowned swordsman

Makes his own clothes more often than not

Technically needs glasses especially when it comes to reading and seeing at night, but refuses to wear them

Has a very friendly disposition that most people might assume is learned from years of nobility events, but he's just genuinely kind

Is not great with any kind of magic on his own, but can be used as a channel for others' magic

However, he has almost supernatural luck, which tends to rub off on those he spends the most time with after a while

Anyway, here he is, hopefully this will soothe the tadpole for a bit until I can sit down to write fic for him and Astarion

Cullen goes absolutely mad when his mate is pregnant. From the moment they tell him, he can barely keep his hands to himself. He is in constant awe of them and what they're sacrificing to bring their child into the world. He is careful to temper his hunger, filling his need with praise and doting acts of service. 

When they do make love, he is as attentive as he’s always been (since they are always foremost in his mind there is little room for improvement there) but it’s more. When they tell him this, unable to describe it any other way, he chuckles and attributes it to hormones. But they see what he doesn’t. 

It’s not just a previously undiscovered kink, but a manifestation of what he subconsciously believes he’s unable to express any other way. He tells them he loves them, that he appreciates everything they do and every moment they have together. That he can’t believe how the Maker has blessed him. But, it never felt like enough before and it certainly doesn’t now. 

So, he watches them sleep to ward off nightmares. Touches them, even with a brush of his fingers, when they are near to feel their warmth. Reads to them because they find comfort in his voice. Draws baths and raids the kitchens at all hours of the night. Most of all, he promises that his love and attention will not fade when the child comes. That all of this veneration isn’t just because they’re pregnant. 

Though, he says it as if he doesn’t believe it himself, like he’s worried he’s making promises he can’t keep. But they assure him they know and they’ve never doubted. It’s one of the reasons they love him so much. Why they’re happy to carry his child. 

And…why they will always match his appetite with equal enthusiasm. After all, hormones tend to make them crave more than just lemon cake in the middle of the night.

in all likelihood, he hasn’t even known his lover for as long as his worst memory lasted, that year sealed away to go mad from starvation and sensory deprivation, yet he still tells them this brief time has been so fundamentally and powerfully important that the weight of even that unimaginable hell is vanishingly small compared to this present he has now and the future ahead of them both.
