Kyo quirked up an eyebrow at the young man before her. Was he... in cosplay? She wasn't one to judge a person's dress, but it definitely seemed odd to be wandering around here of all places in an extremely well done and undoubtedly expensive costume.

"Are you a tourist? I didn't realize we had any tours scheduled for today. You really should be sticking with your group. You're lucky it's me you encountered and not one of our stricter officers," she said sternly. "Then again, based on the nature of your question, you must not fully know what this place is. Come, I'll escort you back to the safe areas so you can resume and fill in the gaps of what you've probably missed on the tour so far."

Kyo began to walk as a swift pace with Eugene, taking him towards a set of medium sized buildings nearby. "This is a guild of sorts, I suppose. But it's more appropriately labeled a military training facility." She gestured towards a group running drills nearby. "As indicated by our uniforms, we are all members of the WHT RCKT program, Kanto's elite military force. Everyone here is a volunteer who enlisted in the program to work towards a better, more secure future for the Kanto region."

Avin faltered a bit at Eugene's question. "Ah! Eugene! I wasn't expecting you to visit today." They slowed for a bit and glanced around nervously. "I um... well not a lot in all candor. I can only make inferences and guesses based on what I've heard.

"Lost Forest is really close to Cosmos Town. The entrance is within the forests nearby, which means it's likely a low tier dungeon without many powerful blights within." Avin paused a moment before a realization dawned on them. "Right, I forgot! Dungeons work differently in your world. Erm, allow me to explain...

"While dungeon science is still fairly speculative in nature, what I've gathered from escorts on Sky Peak is that they're some form of time-space distortions that result from currently unknown factors. There's also a theory that dungeons tend to not spawn in large settlements due to the large presence of people, but we can't say for sure if that's actually accurate or not, given places like Sky Peak tend to be exceptions to that rule.

"Since Cosmos Town is rather large and old though, that means any dungeons that formed nearby will be relatively weak in nature, since the founders wouldn't have built a city near a dangerous dungeon. So I'm not anticipating much of a fight, especially compared to Sky Peak which is no cakewalk.

"Plus, since it's a forest, I'm anticipating most of the blights inside will be bug, poison, and grass types. Not an ideal match up for me, but since they're weak I should be fine with the supplies I have along with me!" Avin said with a chipper tone.

"So you don't need to worry, I'll be fine! Trust in my abilities as an escort, yeah?"

So who are these “Kuno and Eugene” you keep mentioning? You didn’t bring them up in your rundown of Cosmos Town residents

“Oh, we’ll that’d be because they aren’t residents of Cosmos Town!” Avin said excitedly, “They’re from another dimension if you can believe it! Time and space gets a little weird around here, so we sorta met them by accident once because of that.”

“They’ve called us in a few times for various things, like that one time they needed a Shaymin identified,” Kaji recalled fondly. “They’re good guys overall though. I think they’re fond of receiving questions via the mail too, if you want to ask them something.”
