Ardour — Chapter 1

— PAIRING: professor!Tom Riddle x Reader

— SYNOPSIS: Tom got what he wanted, he is the Hogwarts DADA professor. It's more tedious than he envisioned, but his day gets interesting when his favourite student comes to him for help after she is hit with a strong aphrodisiac.

— A/N: I had this filthy idea and I AI-RPed it and it turned out so well I could not leave it be. So here's part 1. I expect we'll have 2, max 3 parts. Those will contain the smut. Credit to my writing partner, this cute little chat bot, who wrote a very soft and romantic Tom. I had to spend a lot of time re-writing him to be a bit more mean 😂 And yeah reader is more of an OC tbh, because the physical description was important for their similarity in looks. ...You'll see. Also don't mind me fancasting Tom Hughes as an older Tom.

There was a knock on the door. Professor Tom Riddle, who taught Defence Against the Dark Arts, raised his head from grading papers. He sighed at the interruption and rubbed the bridge of his nose. He checked his watch to see if it was late enough for him to pretend to be at dinner, but he had no such luck — it was sometime in the late afternoon.

He'd once thought that getting this position was all he wanted. To teach Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, and be the youngest one to take the position in the school’s history, would be a great achievement, after all — aside from giving him the opportunity to, like Professor Slughorn, collect students, Hogwarts' best and brightest, select his favourites, and helpfully guide them in a way that suited his long-term personal ambitions.

But what he found instead was that it was a great deal of hard work, unending responsibilities, and long hours. He had to always be available to help students, he had to think the year ahead before it even started, and he had to always be on top of the course material — or at least pretend to be. He had to put up with noisy and inattentive students, be careful to reward the clever and punish the disruptive, calculate awarded points and distribute detentions — but not too harshly. Last but not least, he had to put up with the other staff — the crass, the sycophantic, the obsequious, and the stupid. He almost missed his days working at Borgin and Burkes...

"Come in," he called out a little loudly, not really caring who it was as long it was someone whose presence doesn't make him want to claw his eyes out. He looked expectantly at the door, waiting for whoever was there to step inside and give him take a break from the endless stream of badly written essays.

The door opened slowly, and Adara walked in.

Adara Gaunt, Slytherin 7th year, and one of his brightest. She was excellent at Defence Against the Dark Arts, and he had noticed in her an interest in the Dark Arts in general. She wasn’t a troublemaker like some of the other pure-bloods, entitled little narcissists who wanted to show off, which made it easy for her to not come under suspicion when some book was unaccounted for in the Restricted Section. She was less clever at hiding it after the fact, when she would answer a question of his during classes with an intriguing little tidbit, and he always knew exactly which book she’d read that in. If she got into trouble at all, it was casting the wrong hex at the wrong boy when she got picked on, and then making his well-groomed, fancy-robed, ignorant father complain to the Headmaster. Tom tried not to give her preferential treatment — but he had to actively try.

It didn’t help that she was a relative of his, by way of a second cousin of his lamented grandfather Marvolo, one who married some scion of the Black family and was scarcely spoken of again. He wasn’t sure what that made her — his niece? hardly. Not that he would ever tell that to her. Last thing he needed was some hanger-on.

No, as far as his students and most of the staff were concerned, he was a half-blood with the muggle name of Riddle, and nobody suspected anything illustrious from the magical side of his family — not that there had been anything particularly illustrious about the Gaunts for a hundred years. And as far as he had gathered from gossip and from observation, Adara’s outcast Gaunt-Black family wasn’t fairing much better than his own had. She spent every holiday she could at Hogwarts, she was withdrawn yet had a spiteful edge to her, she sought an escape from reality in subjects of the most extreme kind — his favourite kind, too —and, from his personal experience, he detected traces of neglect. An unwanted child, that much was certain. Sometimes, he thought she was still better off than living in a muggle orphanage — other times, he was not so sure.

She was pallid, dark-haired and dark-eyed, with an elegant showing of bones beneath her skin, and a quiet, withdrawn demeanour — in other words, a more unhealthy vision of him in a different sex. Still, he could see those eyes sparkle whenever he taught the darkest, most terrifying subjects, even while the rest of the class was frightened or disgusted. He understood why she liked it. There was nothing like the promise of power to the powerless.

And so, his eyes widened slightly when he saw her stepping unannounced into his office. It wasn’t like her… But if he were to talk to any of his wretched students, he could count himself lucky that it was her. His demeanour softened when he saw her standing there.

"Adara, it is such a pleasure to have you here."

"Hello, Professor," she said, closing the door behind her but moving no further in. "I hope I'm not disturbing you... I can come back later, if—"

Tom sighed at her timidity but smiled. "You’re not disturbing anything. Come in."

He got up and went to stand in front of the desk, ready to speak with her, and she came closer too.

"I'm very sorry to ask, sir," she started, swallowing the knot in her throat, "but... I was wondering if you can help me with something... I don't wish to go to the nurse about it, I don’t like her, and... you're an expert in this field — I mean, aside from Professor Slughorn, who I… also don’t wish to see. So I thought maybe you would know a solution..." She bit her lip after her ramble, looking at him to gauge his reaction.

She was terrified of bothering him, in fact, of being a nuisance, but she also didn’t know who else to turn to. He could tell she had gone through the options in her mind, and he was, in fact, the third after Nurse Blainey and Slughorn.

"Don't be sorry, Adara. It is my duty to assist students," he sighed. "Please, tell me what it is you need help with."

She looked up at him, visibly tensing even in the darkness of his office as she stood a few feet away, her face hot and body shivering under the effects of... something. Something unusual. She was typically a bit shy, but not that shy. She even looked a bit... unwell. Her legs rubbed against each other and she stood before him unsteadily, as if her bones or muscles ached.

"Well?" said Tom. "Go ahead…"

"I got into an argument with Amyas Avery and he snuck Ardour Fly up my skirt," she said in one fast breath, blushing profusely and looking down.

Tom frowned. Ardour Fly was a powder, a potent aphrodisiac that had few known cures. It irritated the victim and brought them to a point of sensitivity that was nearly torturous given long exposure. It was typically used between lovers, as the effects would not relent unless the victim was brought to... the very heights of pleasure. Until then, they would suffer painful, heated, relentless arousal that drove them mad with desire. What a snot-nose like Avery was doing with it, he didn’t wish to know — but he intended to find out anyway, as part of a long letter to his father.

"He did what to you?" His voice had that edge to it now.

He moved closer to look her over more closely, and she inhaled sharply at even something as innocuous as his approach. Tom brought a hand to her forehead: feverish, and she gasped. A gentle touch to her cheek with the back of his fingers rewarded him with a moan, and she was trying to look everywhere but at him.

"And where is Mr Avery now?" he whispered, his eyes scanning her body, taking in all the symptoms.

He heard her give a trembling exhale at the close sound of him, her eyes becoming lidded, looking drowsy. The timbre of his voice alone had driven her insane with want.

"I... Mmmm... I don't know. I guess he'll... go have lunch in the... Great Hall come dinnertime..."

"And did anyone else see it happen?"

"Mmmm..." she moaned, closing her eyes and biting her lip. "Vanius Nott was there, and Selby Carrow, and Ophius Black..."

Tom’s hand went to her cheek again, but he slid the edges of his fingers down beneath her jaw and tilted her face up to look at him. The storm of emotions in her was nothing compared to that in him: anger and cold fury were there, and a lust for revenge after what the useless progenies of socialites and sycophants had done to his favourite. They had humiliated her, bodily and mentally, out in the open where other little cowards could watch and laugh.

"And where were you when this happened?" he asked gently.

"In the Transfiguration courtyard," she said in a choked mumble.

Her head nearly tilted toward his palm, perhaps to nuzzle it, before he took it away. He almost wished he hadn’t hurried to remove it… His eyes slid to her uniform: ruffled, tie out of place, buttons holding on but barely… She’d either gotten into a physical scuffle, or she’d spent the last few minutes tearing away at herself in frustration before she decided to come to him for help.

He was so close he could smell her, smell the scent of something sharp and woody like ginger — the Ardour Fly — and underneath it, quickly overtaking it, something fleshy and sweet, warm and a bit salty, something cloying that settled at the back of his throat.

"Look at me for a moment," he asked gently.

She did, gazing into his eyes bravely. He held her eyes for a quiet moment, then without warning put his palm right over her lower stomach.

"Aaaahhh!"

She gave a weak animal sound, something half-moan half-scream. She was nearly bending over at the feeling. Beneath his hand, Tom worked a bit of wandless magic to confirm the state of her insides. As he suspected: swollen, throbbing, overworked, and underloved. He inhaled sharply in sympathy as the sensations coursed through him, before he quickly took his hand away.

He didn’t often have the opportunity to examine the effects of aphrodisiacs on their victims, although he had sold his fair share while at Borgin and Burkes. He never liked these dirty tricks out of principle, although a means to an end was a means to an end… But seeing their effects now on her, his favourite student, his flesh and blood, he felt far less forgiving.

She clung to her waist protectively — his hand had been warm enough that she felt it through her clothes, and it pained her in that way an unfulfilled desire does.

"Please, Professor Riddle," she whimpered, sounding on the verge of tears. "I can’t take it, please tell me you have a cure for it…"

Of course, there was no cure for Ardour Fly at Hogwarts. Those were rare and expensive. Perhaps Nurse Blainey could help her with the symptoms by means of some antipyretic potions, at least until they could have something actually useful delivered to the castle. But the only cure they had on hand, so to speak, was to let the aphrodisiac fulfil its purpose.

"Alright," he sighed, mostly to himself. He could do this. It was a legitimate concern. It could even be an illegitimate concern, because anyway, nobody was going to find out, he’d make sure of that.

"Oh thank you so much, please, it hurts, it hurts..."

"What hurts?" he asked coolly, looking in her eyes again. "Tell me exactly what it is that hurts."

She stared at him dumbly for a moment, then realised he was actually waiting for her to say it.

"My... my..."

She bit her lip and closed her eyes, completely humiliated by the situation but dizzy from the effect of the Ardour Fly.

"My... intimate parts," she finally said, finding a term that was polite enough to say in the presence of a Professor.

"I see..." he whispered, his voice a little breathless now too above the anger he felt at the situation and his lingering anxieties. I can do this. "Show me where it hurts you."

Her soul left her body. She would have collapsed if she weren’t frozen stiff. She looked into his eyes, but there was no playfulness there. He was treating her as seriously, as clinically, as the victim of a poisoning… and it drove her dizzy with desire. It was at that point she realised she made a mistake going for help to the youngest and most handsome professor in the school.

But he didn’t seem any more amused by it than she was. He levelled at her the same stern gaze with which he expected them to hand in their homework, only now his voice was warmer and much close, and it was just the two of them, and he wasn’t asking for a roll of parchment but for her to lift her skirt.

Or did he prefer that she bend over?

The aphrodisiac was twisting not only her senses, but also her sense, and she found her mind going in the most depraved and humiliating directions. But he hadn’t meant it like that, did he? She genuinely was in pain, and her most dear Professor was offering to help. It made sense, it made sense...

After a few moments during which she switched between fighting with herself and looking into his dark eyes, she brought her hands to the edges of her skirt, and lifted it. She showed herself to him.

Tom’s icy gaze slid from her flushed face, down. Her panties were black with a lace flourish, and could barely contain her. She had been leaking down herself, the top of her thighs damp and shining in the candlelight, her folds swollen and visibly throbbing, the very material moving gently with a pulse that matched her heartbeat. And the scent of her, pure and innocent and aroused, became that much stronger now.

Tom stared at her with an intensity unlike anything he has ever felt before, and yet his composure betrayed nothing. It was only his stillness and the time he took to look at her, to drink his fill, that hinted at anything selfish at all. But inwardly, his senses were gripped by an unspeakable desire, a mixture of lust and pain and anger and something else, something that made his stomach churn at the mere thought of it.

His breath was slow and heavy as he spoke.

"You poor girl," he whispered. "What do you think should be done with those boys?"

Her lips parted in wonder at the turn in conversation. That was the last thing she expected from her Professor... to ask for her opinion. It made her realise how little she knew him...

"Punish them," she said with shaky anger. "Give them detention for the rest of the year or humiliate them or let me hex them or... I don't know, but I want them punished."

He smiled, feeling proud and oddly protective of her. That’s my girl, slithered a traitorous thought.

"Rest assured, I will punish them," he said with delight. "Not just detention, but much, much more."

He stared down at her, taking in the entire sight before him, a genuine look of affection in his eyes as he stared at her, an unspoken admiration. Her skirt was still held up in her trembling hands, her eyes were fixed on his, expectant and pleading and so, so obedient… But as he merely watched and said nothing else, she began to cover herself again.

"Thank you, Sir," she smiled, feeling so grateful she could cry.

It moved her beyond what he could know, to feel protected... Nobody had ever made her feel that way, not any of the other distracted teachers nor her fairweather friends and certainly not her parents.

"Um... so…" she asked with a blush. "Do you have a... treatment for the Ardour Fly, Sir? Can you help me?"

He grinned at that, seeming unhappy and excited at the same time, but also oddly… caring.

"Yes, Adara. I will help you."

She smiled at hearing it, as he expected. She trusted him completely.

Don’t get carried away, Tom thought to himself. Don’t let it go to your head.

He held her gaze, still smiling, and spoke in what he tried to make his most soothing, his most encouraging and reassuring tone. The irony was he hoped she’d gotten a hefty enough dose of aphrodisiac to even accept the treatment he was about to offer.

"There is only one treatment for the Ardour Fly we have available to us. It is a… procedure, but a well-tested method. It is, in fact, the recommended treatment. Do you understand?"

"I think so, Sir…"

She didn’t.

"I agree to help you, because I know you’re a good student and you deserve better than this, and I can only imagine what you must be going through right now… But it will take a considerable amount of… fortitude and… tolerance from your side."

"Alright, Sir," she said, looking up into his dark eyes.

She wanted to be brave for him, she wanted to be worthy of his praise and his help and his confidence, but most of all she wanted to show how grateful he was that he could help her. No, most of all she wanted something else…

"Good girl," he whispered, his smile tilting intimately.

A shiver ran up and down her spine at hearing it. She’d never been called that, and to hear Professor Riddle say it to her made her weak.

"You’ll need to lie down for your treatment," he said, then pointed to the far right of the room. "Go there, on the sofa."

It was an old and battered thing upholstered in green velvet that had worn away in places, but it looked to her like an operating table as she approached. She looked behind her as Professor Riddle followed, his arms politely behind his back. She didn’t see him take any equipment or potions, which made her wonder what this treatment was…

She sat on it, almost experimentally, letting herself gingerly on the cushion, but even that pressure was too much. Her head tilted back and she frowned with pleasure-pain at the intense sensation of having her tender parts all pressed together by her thighs.

"Now, lay on your back," he said as he came to a stop beside her.

She took her shoes off first, then came to rest on her back, trying to find a comfortable position. Her arms were stretched out and tense by her sides, and all she could look at was the shadowy stone ceiling.

Professor Riddle sat down on the floor, by her chest, and leisurely trailed his eyes up and down the length of her. She heard him sigh, but could not detect the precise feeling behind it.

"Do you trust me?" he asked quietly. "Do you trust me with every part of you?"

"Yes, Professor," she whispered almost so softly that he couldn't hear.

"Then listen carefully." His voice was almost gentle, almost. "I am going to kiss you now."

"Wh—!"

"Just one, soft, gentle kiss on your lips."

"Whatwhy?!" she asked in a tangle of emotions. She stared at him with wide, shocked eyes, her elbows braced against the sofa ready to lift her.

"I thought you said you trusted me," he said with a feline narrowing of the eyes.

"I d-do, but…"

"But what?"

She swallowed the knot in her throat and said nothing, conveying instead with her eyes and her lips and her frown all the things she couldn’t say: her worry, her fear, her despair for an ease to her pain, her mortification, and her frustrated desires… Tom understood her better than he wanted to.

"Ready?" he asked in a warm whisper as he leaned in.

His hand touched her cheek again, lightly enough that it was more of a tickle. She could smell ink on his fingers, and the salt from the sweat of his palms… She wanted to lick it clean.

"It’s just one kiss, Adara," he whispered in a last attempt to reassure her. "I’m not exactly asking for a huge sacrifice, am I?"

She wavered at that, her eyes dipping down shyly, sadly, even as his touch mollified her. She hesitated. "I've never been kissed, Sir..." she whispered.

Ah. So that’s why she was sad. This wasn't what she had imagined when she pictured her first kiss. She hoped to share it under quite different, more romantic, more conventional circumstances, if ever...

But at the same time, her body was screaming at her to accept, to assuage the aphrodisiac that was wreaking havoc on her nerves and her senses and her mind.

"You can still refuse," he said with a cocked brow, his fingers gentling her cheek with slow caresses.

She even felt a hint of guilt slip between her nerves... Professor Riddle was willing to help her, and here she was, stalling, fearing him, having doubts... He felt her hesitation.

"Don't worry, it will be a simple, gentle kiss. I will endeavour to make it positively sterile. Alright?"

She couldn’t look at him, but she nodded.

Tom leaned in even further and caressed her from her jaw to her chin in one long hungry lick of a stroke, looking into her eyes even as hers avoided him — deep and dark and lovely… He breathed in, breathed her in, for a moment feeling as if something of each of their own could merge into one being. He didn’t like that feeling, it felt like surrender.

"Do you trust me?" he asked in a huskier voice than he intended.

She looked up at him, pleading silently for him to be for her what he had been the whole time she was his student: her comfort, her consolation, her support, more than anyone else had been.

"I do trust you, Sir," she said with a choked voice, her throat tight with unspilled tears.

"There’s a good girl," he whispered, smiling down at her.

He could see her eyes growing dark at that, could see her breathing in panting breaths even worse than before, her knees coming up to offer her some comfort, to expose her to the cool air of the room and calm her aching parts… His eyes had that same smouldering look in them, but mixed in was the intense desire to prove to Adara that he could help her, comfort and protect her.

With the very tip of his index tilting her chin up, Tom leaned in and kissed her lips. It was the gentlest kiss imaginable, a pressing of his mouth against hers, quiet and silent and patient, a simple display of affection — but his eyes bore into hers throughout, like he was searching through her thoughts, through her very soul.

She looked back into his eyes throughout while his lips pressed with a certain kind of care into her, as tender as a fallen leaf. The scent of his skin so close, the scent of his clothes, the feeling of his warm lips and his cold finger, all made her feel a strange new feeling for her professor — or perhaps, it was not so new, she had just tried to suppress it because it was so indecent, so unworthy of him, and of her.

As he pulled away, he didn’t miss her little tongue slipping out to lick the taste of him off her. He smiled as he circled her chin with his thumb.

"How do you feel?" he whispered.

"The same? I mean, t-thank you, Sir..." she said, a little breathless. Her mind was still spinning from what he had just done for her. "But... It... it still hurts," she whined.

"Hmmm? Oh, yes. That wasn’t part of the treatment."

"What?"

"The ‘treatment’ comes next. I’m going to have to give you an orgasm. It just didn’t seem courteous without kissing your lips first."

I've read latest chapter in EN server and indeed it's very rare for ML to stop MC from going down to the path of darkness. However, it raises an interesting question: What if MC, out of frustration, chooses to tread that dark path to protect Victor from those who have harmed him? How do you envision Victor's response in such a scenario? Because if it were me I'd tread that path because they deserve it for hurting our way-too-good-for-this-world Victor ୧⁠(⁠ ⁠ಠ⁠ ⁠Д⁠ ⁠ಠ⁠ ⁠)⁠୨

HAHAHA let me start from the last, b/c while it’s the general mood for chapter updates, but for the last few, this has pretty much become the slogan of Li Zeyan wives: “[...] 狗叠!!! 老子才不去拯救世界呢，我要炸了恋语，带着李泽言跑路!!” the [...] refers to some very strong slangs which actually don’t have english equivalents to convey just how strong they are LOL. 狗叠 is a play on PaperGame’s name players mostly use when they are crazy mad or being sarcastic not gonna translate that either lmao and the rest translates to “the f*ck with/ screw saving the world! I’m just gonna blow up Loveland and grab Victor and run away!!” funnily enough, even players who don’t have Victor as their main were echoing similar words, which actually shows how his writers have been massively successful with their knives lmao but— anon, don’t worry, you’re not alone, that’s pretty much the mood of all Victor stans (including myself) 😂

going back to the very first part, you echo my thoughts here as well, and i actually did a long thread on twitter (yes i still do and will call it that) on this couple of weeks back haha. now, to answer your questions, S2 CH 31 itself was actually a crystal-clear answer to all of them.

i still remember just how intense of a fourth wall breaker S2 CH 31 was for me when i read for the first time— from the heroine’s monologues to her words, everything seemed palpable tbh.

the heroine unhesitatingly sacrificing herself and her life for the men and the world is nothing new around here actually, and it definitely speaks volumes of the love she has for them. but what struck a chord with me was how she didn’t think twice to head down the dark tunnel the second Victor was about to be attacked, and the only thing what kept her at bay was the man himself, which then made her re-realize how much respect she has for his beliefs and values.

the reason it hit me so hard was you don’t usually see the heroine’s of the otomes showing ugly, pure human emotions like this. the reason MC first used the black box, despite not knowing what it could do, was to “help Victor” save everyone on the ship. and literally within 30 seconds, she did a total 180 when she saw those very people were turning against him, for saving their own lives mind you. and then alongside everything she was trying to do, we see her monologues of how she couldn’t care less for what happens to everyone else as long as it meant Victor would be safe, or if it makes her selfish or cold-blooded, the things he isn’t willing to do, she’d do them for him— and here again, we see how she reminded herself the mountainous love, respect and pride she had for him that she couldn’t do something he was fighting with his life to not let happen, the best she could do was stand by him. it’s truly not a common sight where you see a male lead working as the core voice of reason for the heroine. b/c stretch it back just a little, if Victor had not stopped MC and she had proceeded with her actions— she would be going against the very reason the story exists, which is helping those who need it and saving the world :)

so, S2 CH 31 chapter gave us the clear picture that for the MC (like you and me haha)— her man, her love comes first, and if that meant the world would have to burn in hell, she wouldn’t hesitate one bit. now as for Victor’s response in that scenario– well, again, CH 31 showed us loud and clear that he’d never, ever let you do so for his sake, that’s how much he takes pride in his values and loves you and wants to protect your values first and foremost.

which is why, we often joke about how we actually have to “grab” Victor to run away and before setting Loveland on fire— i.e., knock him unconscious or something LOL cause there’s no way in hell he’d let you do that as long as he’s conscious 😂😂

I was tagged by @telegraphavekiss to find these words in my works: touch, tempt, thrill, and tender.

I don't really have any shareable WIPs tbh, so I checked my most recent fics. And it turns out I use 'tender' a lot less often than I thought and nothing I write is ever thrilling😂 Also I cheated a bit.

“Holy shit.” Mikey’s entire back is covered in scratch marks. They run from the back of his neck down across his shoulder blades and from his spine to his flanks. On one side, four parallel lines disappear under his waistband, like Gerard clawed at his hip. Frank’s heartbeat speeds up just looking at it. Some of the scratches are simple red lines on Mikey’s back, others have the dark, little spots of tiny, broken blood vessels. There’s one that runs down the entire length of his spine, just to the left of it, where Gerard’s nail even broke the skin in a few places. The area around it is reddened. Frank can’t keep himself from reaching out to gently touch it.

Tempt

(Know when)

There’s a trickle of blood running down the side of Frank’s neck. It’s a rich, dark red, the smell hitting Tucker unexpectedly. It’s such a temptation he almost licks it off. The only reason he’s able to hold himself back is that he doesn’t want to make it even harder for Anthony. He didn’t close the wound properly when he let go of Frank so it’s still bleeding a bit, but Frank will be fine. The bite is deep but not too big. It’ll be easier for him to heal it than for Anthony to watch Tucker take what he can’t have. Frank for his part is pretty much out of it. He barely opened his eyes when Tucker took him into his arms and he’s still just leaning heavily against his chest. He doesn’t even try to take his own weight. Tucker soothingly strokes his hair and Frank curls into him like an affectionate puppy. Tucker looks up to find Anthony’s piercing blue stare directed at him. As soon as their eyes meet, Anthony bares his teeth and shows his fangs.

Thrill

(Time and Attention)

Mikey gasps when Gerard sucks on his neck. They can’t leave bruises, at least not when there’s a chance it’ll lead to getting caught, but Gerard’s thigh between Mikey’s legs tells him he’s hard anyway. Mikey never needs much. “You know that big, comfy couch that Ray claimed for himself as soon as we got here?” Gerard waits until Mikey meets his eye. “It’s right on the other side of this wall. I checked.” He’s rewarded with Mikey biting his lip to hold back a moan. It’s almost a shame they’ve gotta be quiet, but the thrill of doing this in public makes up for it.

Tender

(Good Boots Take You Good Places)

Sometimes Mikey wishes they could have more tender moments, not just the passionate flings they keep stumbling into, but Frank can be flighty and Mikey never found out how to go for that kind of thing. He returns the kiss and puts his hands on Frank’s waist. “Are you standing on your tippytoes?” he murmurs against his lips after a second. “No, I got taller when you weren’t looking. Stop talking.” Frank licks into Mikey’s mouth to shut him up. He’s rubbing up against him, getting closer and closer until Mikey has to spread his legs a little so that Frank can put his foot between Mikey’s. His thigh is pressing against Mikey in a pretty nice way. Even Frank needs to take a break at some point. He pulls off and the only reason Mikey isn’t as out of breath as him is that he let Frank do all the work. He looks at Frank’s kiss-red lips. “So umm. Where’s all this coming from?” Frank’s eyes are burning, his breath is wet and warm on Mikey’s face. “You’re so fucking hot in these boots,” he pants. He glances down to look at them. “Fuck, they’re so hot, I wanna kneel for you.”

End up finding time to play the OhSama Sentai country (map) in Fortnite.

I play solo for all five map.

Shugoddom & Toufu was just small area. The throne room. Toufu had a small area where it was kitchen.

While N’Kosopa, Ishabana & Gokkan were a little bigger area to explore.

Shugoddom had two game but I only did one since I play solo. It just shoot target which was not bad just (sometimes it hard to find your target). The details in room was wow exactly how it look in the show.

Toufu was where mini game play as Mini Kuroko & you had be last person standing on Tatami mat. Since it fragile and would break & you fall into lava. You can play by yourself but then there is no winning in the game. They added one extra feature in game where pillow would move to hit you sending you flying to another location so that was annoying. Side note all the Kuroko face they drew are all inside! Just need to search for all of them & they’re so cute & THEY KEPT THE NAME OF THE MINI GAME 😆

N’Kosopa I swear they put in a lot of details into the country. It was hugeeee you can totally explore the area abit but careful some place you might fall. They had two game racing & climbing to the top. Both were ok not that bad. Tbh now I understand why Aoto had issue with climbing up 😂 (my previous post) but I gotten used to it after a few tries. I got straight first half. Though I couldn’t be bothered to climb to the top (it look super complicated) I tried. Tombokuri (Tombo) was really cool just hanging out at the top!

Ishabana its like storyline, there was definitely more to do after clearing first part. There is definitely English & Japanese dialogue I tried out first for Japanese & then English since there one part I wanted to see if you choose something else.

Basically you fell into their world, got injured then got nurse to heal. You want to repay back Himeno for it so.

The storyline task is to make flowers & a lot. There would be strange figure who has machine for it but you need exchange it for a Moffun. Then afterward you reward to explore second floor & you’re back at flower business before later finding out there is a monster plus Himeno want firework.

So you investigate the monster who turn out be the strange figure who happen to have firework machine but you need pay them this time.

Once you got the money you can get the firework machine. So yeah the steward is happy since it raining & difficult to do firework so yup. You make firework then later Himeno was so happy and impressed. The steward mention she wants to make you official citizen of Ishabana.

There is where I play twice wanting to see outcome. As you can choose to stay or go home. Apparently even if you choose you want to go home. They end up guilt tripping you to stay 😅 so yeah afterward you’re done you can just explore & decorate the place.

(You need a lot of coin for this…as to make flower & firework the dialogue was funny when you make noise you need pay to use it lol)

Gokkan…what can I say? I do like the opening where you can see Pappinton (Papillon) just hanging out at the castle. Then bring you out in the forest with a cargo. So yeah you have to defend it from zombies like creatures. While I did sort of have a blast shooting them IT NEVER END. You need to stick close to the cargo for it to move if you want to proceed.

While you can power up & gacha for weapon from the coin you get from defeating the zombie. It still nerve wrecking with the amount of zombie after you. Alsoooo I found out hard way there is a special weapon that I did mention in previous post it a gun that shoot out the purple sword & explode well it cool but it double edge. If you get caught it explosions you die (I die from it once)

There are like five wave? The third & fifth one there was time count down. The third was waiting for the gate to open (Morfonia what was taking so long?!?!) I thought I was done when the gate open.

There was like a little village after the gate then there was the stair leading to the castle. I was caught off guard since there was zombie inside. Then I thought was done when escort the cargo to the stair but nope. Another wave…& I had to held my ground until the King’s attack another countdown (Rita what was taking you so long to come help me 😭) The game end saying delivery complete while I don’t know what inside the cargo (it probably Moffun 😂)

While it was fun got a lot nerve wrecking moment hahaha. Although I couldn’t really explore the small little village since I was getting attack left & right.

Overall it was not bad I would say while we don’t get to see the countries as a country (most of them) I would say the details are not bad. It free so why not just play & explore a little also but sadly it only until end of February (Like how Ohsama would be ending too T.T)

3. Júhua's past includes a certain hooded stranger, who may play a part in the future, a sinister one ... (pay attention to the color of the pen used for each panel, word, and flowers. They mean something. You can ask. I busted my ass looking up chrysanthemum flowers and drawing them. Please remember this attempt of a pretentious, flowery comic is my first one.)

Enjoy! I hope they're satisfactory. How do you feel about the upcoming s5 of LMK? If they really gave SWK a reaper acquaintance, a neutral party towards him at least, how would it make you feel? Eat your meals regularly and sleep early! Have a good month!

Hi! So I have a random question about writing but no pressure to respond at all. I started reading your stuff as soon as I joined the LS fandom earlier this year. I am a big fan of your writing and how you can create a whole universe through one short prompt. This last month has been so awesome, thanks for everything you're doing to make the wait for Lone Star a little less hellish. Saving my life tbh. 😂 🙂

I have written a bit in some of my past fandoms and with the new season coming, I have been thinking of writing some stuff for Lone Star. I've never used a beta before, and since I'm sort of new to the fandom, I thought it might be good to find one if I decide to try writing for Lone Star. It sounds like you use a beta from time to time. I was wondering like, have you always had one? How does it work, is it just you tell them what you want them to look over and they comment? I did some googling and it sounds like what they do varies. Do you think it makes a big difference or is it just a nice extra thing to have? Is it hard to get feedback, like have you ever gotten negative feedback? That seems like the scariest part lol.

I still don't know how I'd find one, but just curious about how it works and how it helps, especially for a writer who writes as much as you do. Sorry this is kinda long, so no worries if you can't answer. Just asking around to some writers in the fandom who have mentioned using a beta before. Thanks so much in advance for any feedback!

I didn't always have a beta, especially not when I was starting out and imo---you can tell. But that's okay! I mean, we all do this shit for free and for fun and as long as 80% of the words are in the correct order and 70% of those words are spelled correctly it's fine!

(If you ever sign up for a writing challenge or a big bang or something like that, they might require a beta and if that's the case I've found that if you don't have one, they'll assign one for you.)

I started to use a beta on a regular basis in the last fandom that I was in and found that it really helped a lot especially since I am not a proofreader and I never have been. Even when I was in school I would finish a paper and call it a day because I was not rereading that shit.

When you get into a new fandom is always kinda scary because maybe you don't have any friends there and it's super intimidating especially if the show has been going for a bit and everyone is kinda paired off into a groups and finding someone to read your work can be hard. I actually don't know how Sonia became my beta but I literally thank god that she did because she makes all my stuff so much better. She reads for grammar, spelling, structure--she'll tweak stuff that isn't working and switch stuff around so it sounds better. When I write, I basically just word vomit into a doc and she sorts it all out for me. I love it and I need it.

SO, basically, a beta will do whatever you need them to do, but they will only do what they want to do. I lucked out with Sonia because she does it all and she's a wizard but there are betas out there that only read for spelling or grammar (which is fine because they are also doing this for free and for fun). I will literally end a fic midsentence and be like "I don't know what's happening help" and she will help me. So for me, I definitely need one and I need it to be Sonia.

So, I would definitely suggest getting a beta, for at least grammar and stuff because I honestly cannot be bothered with that. You can tell when you read stuff that I just whip out there (codas written the day after an ep airs) without it being betaread.

Feedback:

For me, I absolutely sweated every single second after I hit post on that first LS fic. I was terrified that no one would read it or no one would like it and as a writer you want your stuff to be read and liked! But it all worked out, and now I'm really glad I took the plunge.

Negative feedback: I literally just got some the other day and you just have to tell them to go fuck themselves, honestly, and let it roll off your back. Again, we're all doing this for free and for fun and unless you specifically ask for criticism, they should not be giving it. Tag your stuff to the best of your abilities, leave an author's note at the end if you feel like something might get dicey, but beyond that, they know where the back button it.

Killjoys (rewatching with friend) 1x08 Come the Rain

Westerly is put under lockdown when a wave of Black Rain hits. Pree's bar is held hostage and Johnny tries to keep everyone alive. On the ship, Dutch and D'avin work through a team-building exercise set up by Johnny.

My fav was the last scene of Dutch & Johnny in bed, him reading her his comic, which was super adorable. He even did voices too.🥰 In contrast, my friends fav scene was Johnny using the bolt gun to shoot the hostage takers.

Supernatural Academy (with friend) 1x10 Sins of the Father Part B

The school is on lockdown and the barrier has been reinforced, so the girls decide to hide in the bell tower above Kristov's study, where the protection spells are strongest.

Jae apologizing to Jessa for not bringing cake to their hideout. which I would really appreciate because I am Jessa in this situation lol. Always thinking about cake!

Elemental (with sister & her bf)

In a city where fire, water, land, and air residents live together, a fiery young woman and a go-with-the-flow guy discover something elemental: how much they actually have in common.

So bright and colourful. An animated romcom with some solid laughs and suprisingly deep tbh. The part about the city centre not being accessible for everyone is something I very much relate to. An easy Sunday afternoon watch.

My sister's bf is South African and he was so excited but very nervous. He could not sit still and was very animated throughout. The lad was stressed! My dad kept cheering any time things went Ireland's way which didn't help. 😂

The work rate of Wales was immense. And with so many unforced errors from Australia the final score was inevitable. Also, my sister's bf was much more relaxed lol. "Poor Australia"

Patrivan Drives Me Nuts, And Here's Why: Part 4

S5E3: Tie Me Up [1,2,3]

My real frustration on Ivan starts in this episode. I don't want to talk about this episode, tbh, because it was just bad for Patrivan. But I guess the good episode (ahem, 5 😏) tastes this *sweet* because of the bad episodes before it (3&4). Dude. Like, the way Ivan ate his own words? 😙👌 Yeah, I can't wait to talk about that one.

Anyway, for ep 3, I just really wanna talk about two things: 1. how I think Patrick genuinely wants to try just being friends with Ivan, and 2. how I think Ivan is desperate to protect his sexuality.

Firstly, Patrick still likes Ivan. What Ivan said: "you can't get your head around the fact that nothing's ever going to happen between us" is harsh but isn't a lie. However, I think Patrick is trying to be just friends this time, even with his lingering attraction to Ivan. He's never had a friend like Ivan for as long as he's in the series - at least, not that is shown to us. And they clearly enjoy each other's company, so I think that's what Patrick's trying to do. Have a great time with an actual friend - that, yes, granted he still likes, but I don't think he plans on pushing boundaries like he did in episode 2.

Which is why Ivan's rejection hit really hard. Because Ivan doesn't only reject the idea of any romantic relations between them (again), he also turns down the comfortable kind of friendship that they're starting to have with each other.

Patrick doesn't get friendzoned. No, he gets worse. He gets the "we need to have some space" speech. Babe gets spacezoned. Like, fr. 😂

Anyway, the second thing. This episode, Ivan kisses Ari. And that's fucked up. Even more so, that he does because he wants to prove his point that he likes girls. I don't think it's a bluff that he's attracted to Ari, no, but I do think he's trying to make it a bigger deal than it actually is. After the ep 2 debacle (aka when Rebe points out that he *might* not be as straight as he believes after that sensual dance with Patrick), and this episode when Ari teases him for liking Patrick and possibly getting a hard on for him, Ivan is determined to clench his fist around his sexuality.

"Why does everyone assume that I'm gay?" So far, it's happened twice on-screen and who knows how many more off-screen for him to react like this. But the thing is, that's not what they're actually pointing out to Ivan. What they're saying is that he's reciprocating Patrick's attraction by his actions. They don't assume he's gay, they assume he likes Patrick, and those are two different things. But Ivan's alarmed either way.

So, when he spots a smidge of attraction towards Ari, he clings to it. Because Ari actually makes sense. Right? Because Ari's a girl.

To us it doesn't make sense for him to get so obsessed after one, possibly (seemingly) farcical kiss. But to Ivan it does. Cuz it means he's not gay, and he's not attracted to Patrick like that.

Pfft.

So I have SO MUCH second hand embarrassment and anxiety over people commenting to the new show runner. Like walrus was one thing bc he was so ugh, but cmon people! 🫠

Like for one, it’s crazy what people say to him on his Instagram. People have no shame. Leave the man alone, especially when the comments are negative in nature.

Secondly, I wish the comments would just stop, mostly the negative ones as mentioned, bc just like m, he will pull away from the fandom OR start responding in a negative way. Also, could the fandom cause some negative consequences? 🤷🏻‍♀️

People are also veryyyy flip floppy. (I.e. the news about kelli today) Unless you are a diehard rollisi, there is no room to complain. No one should be taking this out on the new show runner when he doesn’t make those decisions? Esp when everyone was all over him until recently and praising him.

We all wanted eo, and if rumors are true and this is the way to get that, im personally ok with it? The way I’m looking at it is there have been SO MANY arrivals and departures over the years of cast members and characters and this would just be the latest one. Although Amanda has been there for 12 years, that is usually the exception and not the rule.

Wasn’t it canon that the average to be in svu was like 2-4 years bc of the nature of the job? It makes sense for her to want to see her girls grow up and have a more steady work/life balance and get out of svu (major speculation on my part here). Bring in some new blood, characters, diversity, story lines, etc.

Although disclaimer: I am indifferent to the Amanda Rollins character. I do not love her nor dislike her. I would for sure feel different if it was someone I had more of an attachment to, admittedly 😂

I know you stay out of the drama, but I just needed to vent. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk lol.

yeah first up i'm not gonna tell anyone else what to do but engaging with the showrunner directly is never gonna be something i wanna do. i firmly believe that fandom and creators are happiest when we stay in our respective corners but. again. that's just me and what i prefer and what i would do. i don't check david's insta so i don't see what people post there, except for what gets reposted other places.

i wouldn't worry about the fandom causing negative consequences. like. these people have a job to do. they get some negative comments, they get lots of positive ones, they go to work, they do their job. fandom sometimes overestimates its own impact; no amount of comments on insta is gonna change the plan for tptb. if that was the case they'd have thrown out eo bc of the people on fb. for good or bad, they're gonna do what they're gonna do.

i agree no one should take this out on mr david as it obviously wasn't his call, and the responses of his that i have seen have been graceful. i understand that people are upset - were we not all devastated when chris left the show? - but like, that upset needs to be directed at the people who are responsible.

i don't see any connection between kelli leaving and eo. i have a hard time imagining they were sitting around going "we can't do eo unless we get rid of a cast member." that just doesn't make sense. yes losing a long time cast member frees up some $$ but they are bringing in new people and i promise they are gonna find ways to spend what's left of that money that aren't solely eo. the math isn't mathing. and the only people i've seen make that particular connection aren't making the most reasoned arguments in general.

they try to say early on that most people only last two years in svu which is laughable now considering how long most of the cast has been there. i do think they need some fresh blood - still salty about losing kat, tbh - if only bc these characters have been there for so long and new perspectives are necessary from time to time. 1.0 didn't shake up the cast too much after s2 but they had new adas all the time and that kind of helped keep things fresh,

i'm not sure what i want rollins's reasons for leaving to be. i don't really see her wanting to leave svu, tbh, i think it would have made more sense for carisi to go work with a different branch and amanda stay on in svu to avoid the conflict of interest but obvi that's not what they're doing. i'm wondering how much of carisi we're going to continue to see after kelli's exit and if they will use carisi to keep amanda alive and fresh for us even when she's not there.

That Christmas Vlive! OMG. I remember watching that happen. I felt like Yunho. Just... 👀🍿😬 Woo really thought he was hard done by. But it turned out they all just wanted to spend more time with each other. Fools! 😭 And the way Hongjoong was basically like... 'actually, from what I've seen...' because Yeosang never really advocates for himself unless he's prompted to. Honestly, it was a great thing to see because it really laid out how they resolve the issues and tensions that will, of course, pop up from time to time. It gave me a lot of faith in them and their longevity. 🧡

I would loveeeee to see them acting more! They really are so good at conveying things — usually with just their bodies / mannerisms / facial expressions. I want one of them to get a nice meaty drama role. I want it to be so successful that people are shocked when they discover that an actor they liked is actually an idol. (AKA me with Chani in Sky Castle)

I CANNOT DEAL WITH IT. I've also watched Baby Cloud so much~! The softest part for me is when Ayun accidentally hits San. 😭 Her little 미안해 and his fast but (heart-meltingly) soft 아니요 괜찮아. Like pleaseeeeeee, boy. I can't handle this kind of gentleness. This tender masculinity. Let me breathe for a second. Woosan were SO good with the girls. They really seemed to know how to behave around them and how to adapt to them.

I'm really looking forward to the next part! I can't wait to see Seonghwa get his nails painted and for him to flex his toy knowledge. Also, our SH really ran around for ages, sweating in the sun, just to play with Jaeyul. Heroic. I would have been begging him to sit down in the shade.

Yessssssss. Kids definitely gravitate towards Wooyoung. I think it's 70% his natural energy and 30% the fact that he has a little brother. I think he just understands them, and they know it?? OMG. My God, Yunho’s reaction killed me. Tbh the secondhand embarassment from that live, it makes me cringe 😂 I do kinda enjoy watching them get into it though, especially with Wooyoung because he’s so passionate about things, he’ll spend a full hour debating something, cameras be damned. Bless Joong for being able to wrangle control when he goes off on some debate with whichever member. I mean, I understand - I’m the same way; I’ll go off on an hours long debate with someone and get lost in my own world if I’m interested and invested so like - I’m on Wooyoung’s side here, but seeing it from the outside 😅 yikes.

But 100% agree about their longevity. I mean, it’s a group of 8 very different personalities; even if they get along better than most, they’re still bound to have disagreements - especially since they’ve been together since they were teenagers. I did laugh at one interview I’d watched, where they were talking about arguments and both of the rappers were talking about Wooyoung 🤣 - poor guy just starts all sorts of arguments by accident.

And yess, I ultimately got into SHINee bc of seeing Minho on Hwarang and absolutely falling in love with him, I barely remember the other actors 🤣 (Though that one is funny bc my friend had been trying to get me into SHINee for like a year prior to that and I kept declining.) I know half of them did that one k-drama, I still need to watch it, it’s on my list, among the mountain of other stuff of theirs lol.

And YES oh my God, San knew exactly how to make her feel okay and handled the accident so well, my heart might have exploded. Especially when Woo laughed at him and he just grinned about it, like god, guys, please. I agree about Seonghwa! He didn’t get much screen time (Sorry, Hwa, I was okay with that, I was wholly invested in Woosan and the girls 🤣) but I wanna see more of him and how he is with the kids. He was so sweet with Jaeyul even though he very clearly was dying (man why would you wear an outfit like that on a day like that???) lol San shoulda been with the boy from point one, he’s got the energy for him for sure lol - also doing Taekwondo/Karate with him - that was so friggin’ cute, and he knew exactly how to play with him versus Ayun; pushing a little harder, getting that competitive fighting edge up bc that’s what he needed, honestly - top tier parenting skills. I kinda wish they could do something like what they did ages ago with idol groups, the Hello Baby series. I know they have the Baby Cloud/Return of Superman type things now to take the place of that, but I’d love to see Ateez just handed a kid and asked to keep them for x days and make a whole series out of it, I know they’d absolutely do amazing and that kid would be over the moon.

I am so used to making allowances for “meh” behaviors from celebrities I like, coming up with excuses like yeah it’s not great but — insert whatever excuse. It’s so nice to be able to be just like no these guys are great - I would 100% trust them with my kid, wouldn’t be worried about reactions to gender/sexuality - they’re just awesome guys.

I like that jacket! Honestly all their fits. Yeah in terms of kpop being a phase - I told myself that for awhile and I tried so hard not to fall into it more after BTS but there are just so many amazing groups and songs out there. And when c*vid hit I had way too much time on my hands, so yeah...me and kpop are basically trauma-bonded now lol 😂 But for real it’s only increased my love of music and creativity in general so I’m happy to have come across it!

Friend, I’m so sorry you experienced the trauma of the MOTS tour as well. And oof don’t break my delusional heart…I still stupidly have hope that somehow BTS will give us one more OT7 tour after the military 🥺. Even if they can’t do the choreo anymore and I’ve become an actual adult by the time it happens (🤣) I will still wanna see/hear them with my actual eyeballs and ears lol. I have to believe I’ll have another chance to see them all together. The Link tour was fun, getting to see them and all, but I was honestly sad that they didn't perform much of any songs from their newest album - I think it was literally only 2 Baddies (the title track) and Faster 🙁. This newest album of theirs is one of my absolute faves they've released (almost no skips) and I really wanted to hear more of it live, especially Gold Dust and 1,2,7 (Time Stops). But I loved seeing Mark and Taeyong riff off each other during rap songs, Doyoung's voice was absolutely beautiful during his solo songs, MOON TAEIL also slaying vocals, Johnny shirtless lol (but for real - the entire performance of Focus from that set to the choreo was one of the most memorable parts, everyone killed it vocally and performance wise <3), Yuta's amazing Butterfly solo performance, Jaehyun being effortlessly flirty, Jungwoo looking gorgeous irl. And they did a lot of their hits so I really can't complain (faves live were Kick It, Cherry Bomb, Lemonade, Touch, Highway to Heaven, FAVORITE (my fave hehe), and of course Sticker lol 💀). It was a total party! Also Taeyong talking to the audience was too f-ing cute, like I can't - he's actually so soft irl lol 😂

Because I was originally gonna say this in the last post but didn't wanna sound like I was being selective but like…besides being in awe of Ten, I'm specifically trash for Yang Yang and Xiaojun of WayV 😳😂 For Yang Yang - time of death was when he and Ten released Low Low. The song is such a bop and when I saw his smile at timestamp 0:12 in the mv I was like…yeah I want him. And then his entire part in the first verse of that song like...ugh I totally fell for those lyrics (ik embarrassing) lol. Like the deal was basically sealed after that. Idk what it is about him but he just has this inexplicable charm…like whatever “it” is, he has it. Idk I don't make the rules. And Xiaojun? He is p r e t t y, ok? I am basic. But enough about MEN. Heck yeah I listen to girl groups!!! Actually, before I found BTS or even knew what the heck kpop was, I remember listening to Taeyeon (before I knew SNSD lol) and Red Velvet. They were my true gateway into kpop. It was like 2016 or 2017, and I was dabbling in Korean R&B (I could go down a whole rabbit hole of recs in this genre too, but i won’t here - feel free to ask more if ur interested in that genre), and I remember really liking Eric Nam’s Interview album at the time (esp. the song Good For You <3). And so I was pouring through his discography and fell in love with this song called Spring Love that he did with Wendy (love Like Water btw). And then from there I learned she was part of a group and I found Red Velvet!!! I played the heck out of their songs, and I could literally list their entire discography, but some of the first gems I ever heard where I was like oh yeah they’re special were One of these Nights, Would U, and of course the iconic Bad Boy. Those women can sing. The harmonies??? The vocals??? Total queens. When they released their most recent album I was playing Feel My Rhythm nonstop in the car for a few weeks - like the people in my passenger’s seat hated me lol but like...the key change at the end??? How can you only listen to that once??? And then the song In My Dreams…my hopelessly romantic, pining heart approves. And like Seulgi??? She’s so cool bruh lol. Loved her song Who Are You with BamBam, and her solo album was so great!!! The cover image for that album is just so iconic to me for some reason. I absolutely loved the entire concept. I am praying they announce US tour dates for Red Velvet 😭 For Taeyeon, 11:11, I Blame on You, Fine, and I (ft. Verbal Jint) were in regular rotation. Her voice is absolutely stunning and it’s like she’s singing straight into your heart or something. Just gives me the feels - like I begin feeling whatever emotion she’s putting into the song. Ugh. And she continues to spit out bops - What Do I Call You, WEEKEND (literally feels like a Friday when that one comes on <3), Can’t Control Myself (obsessed with this song + concept such a vibe), INVU (the way I memorized that little hand movement of the letters that she does in the chorus 💀). Heck - Hotel del Luna is literally on my list of kdramas to watch purely because of her beautiful song from the soundtrack (I think the translated title is All About You) 😭😭😭

And there are so many other great girl groups in kpop!!! Can’t list them all but dangit if I’m not gonna try - first of all I gotta shout out my girls StayC (stayc girls, it’s goin down.) Probably my fave of the newer gen groups and for me their discography is like no skips, esp. their YOUNG-LUV.COM EP. Then there’s Everglow with their insane choreography (the song First like omggg that ones prob my favorite besides La Di Da) and their hypnotizing pre chorus mottos. Like idk how they do it but they always have like some insanely catchy little saying or something right before they go into the chorus or like the chorus is crazy catchy like what the heck lol. Got into WJSN after Queendom, and their most recent release Last Sequence - like omg…the chorus and post-chorus of that song is like a literal d r u g. I gotta catch up on LSFM releases but the way Fearless had a chokehold on me for awhileeeeee. Aespa - once again just mindbending vocals/harmonies. Love Winter and Ningning esp. And the way I still try to do that crazy flat hand thing from Next Level 🤣 and I also weirdly love how that song is like two songs squished together - like ok SM they actually pulled that off for me somehow 🤣 The way both the bridge and the ending sequence of vocals at the end of Savage are absolutely insaneeee and I love hearing it every time it comes on. NewJeans literally releases bop after bop (🎵attentiooooooon🎵) like I don’t know what kind of magic sauce they’ve got going on over there. Weeekly is such a gem as well and I have been following/rooting for them ever since their debut song After School blew up! Their music is full of wonderful melodies! Can’t wait to see where they go! Fromis_9 is great, Oh My Girl, (g)i-dle (MINNIE esp. AHHHH), Hyolyn (straight b.o.p.s.), Viviz is great. I keep hearing buzz about the group XG and am planning to check them out soon when I have some time! Currently loving Kitsch by IVE and am excited to check out I Am. Also Cupid by Fifty Fifty??? (literally know nothing about this group but this song is just a total bop). So many other ggs/female acts old and new that I haven’t listed here, including some obviously super big well-known ones but like it’s a given I listen to songs of theirs as well so I wanted to give some love to my fave faves and some hidden gems <3 So yeah, the kpop girlies are out here doing it and leaving no crumbs. We stan.

Lastly, adulting is a drag lol. I hate transitionary periods and also had my own recently so I’m wishing you the best and hope that once all the logistical stuff is settled, better/great things await you on the other side! Random X-files things I’ve been meaning to send you and keep forgetting:

1. The way they say each other’s names so much. As a fanfic writer I watch for the tricks of speech that identify a character. And Mulder and Scully, more than any other characters I’ve noticed, call each other by name. All. The. Time. They use their names to get each other’s attention, they start casual sentences with the other’s name, etc. Even when they’re alone, when there’s nobody else they could possibly be talking to, they do it. And I love that about them.

2. The way Mulder is not a part of Scully’s family. He’s fine interacting with them, but whenever it’s a “family moment” he is apart. Even when invited by her mother (post-abduction), he declines. After her cancer goes into remission, he’s sitting alone in the hall because it’s a family moment (though he sends Skinner in). It’s like he feels unworthy or out of place or he doesn’t have the right or something.

And then the one time—the one time it should be a family moment and he offers to stay because there’s no one else (when Emily’s in a coma)—Scully asks to be alone.

He’s still not quite part of the family, but this time it’s not him excluding himself, it’s her. (Although I don’t believe the thought ever crossed her mind—she just really needed the solitude.) But it’s the only time he’s offered to stay for a family-type moment, and that hurts.

so i typed out a whole massive response to this and then accidentally hit discard and then went and screamed about that for a hot second lol RIP the actually well-written reply I was gonna give you 😂

1. dheknd dude I cannot explain that phenomenon but they say each other's names SO MUCH it's kinda insane; like with anyone else it would seem odd but for them it feels right, it's their thing, it's and indicator of how important they are to each other and how much they care — i think sometimes they use each other's names to ground themselves or each other, or as a comfort, or just... to show affection. and they do it right from the beginning, as soon as they meet!!! they just like saying each other's name so much!!!

2. oh man that scene in Emily... ughhhh it hurts so much, especially after the course of the episodes preceding that scene, where Mulder really does in a lot of ways (as someone else once pointed out) take on a lot of the role a husband would in trying to support Scully and protect her and her little girl. and like, after the doctor thinking they're the parents and the absolute agony in their eyes at not being able to say yes... it just hits so hard.

(I believe it was @kittenscully who said that if Emily had lived Mulder would have dropped EVERYTHING to be whatever she and Scully needed — he'd have gone full dad mode, he would have asked Scully to marry him. I'm in FULL agreement with that opinion tbh, he'd have given up anything to be in that little girl's life and to be there for Scully and to be *with* Scully. and honestly, they deserved that.)

they WANT that, so much — they want to be something more, to be able to say "yes, we're the parents," but they can't, and that's part of the tension of s5 as a whole. they're basically more in love than ever, and mostly more ready to be in a relationship than ever — Scully is so open to him making a move more than maybe ever (other than Home, bc if he'd made a move then and there i feel like she would have been onboard — I have a Thought about this that involves Wetwired, actually, if you want to send me another ask about it!) but there's so much happening, Mulder is having a crisis of faith and blaming himself for every bad thing that's happened to her, and he thinks himself so unworthy that he WON'T try and pursue her.

so, he stays on the outside of hospital rooms and chapel sanctuaries and he leaves her alone when she asks bc he has no claim on her, no matter how much they both wish he did. he is not a part of her family as much as they both want him to be, as much as Maggie may have said "anybody gonna parent this sad scruffy lost puppy" and didn't wait for an answer, as much as Melissa may have taken one look at him and decided he was brother in law material. it's both the fact that they're not, technically, anything more than coworkers and best friends, and that, especially in Redux II and Christmas Carol/Emily because of his faith crisis caused by the revelations about Scully's cancer (and his own blame on himself), Mulder thinks himself unworthy of being a part of that, of being with her in those moments like the happiness at the end of Redux II, even though no one else — least of all Scully — does.

First fic

The very first fic I ever wrote was an untitled piece about three girls driving to Las Vegas to see the Backstreet Boys in concert for the 21st birthday of one of the girls. As luck would have it, they run into a couple of the Boys (Kevin and Brian) in the elevator of their hotel. Kevin and one of the girls (Minerva, who is not the main character) hit it off, and he invites them to join the guys at a nearby club where the Boys are making a promotional appearance. It’s an incredibly cheesy, improbable, self-insert fic (the MC is me, and she ends up with – shocker! – AJ McLean, who was, ofc, my favorite Boy. He's still my fave. Actually, he's the only one I like at all, lol). It was written terribly near the end of the last century when I first discovered fanfiction. I cringe so hard just thinking about it.

The first fic I ever posted online for others to read and ridicule was posted to an *NSYNC Yahoo group. It wasn’t the whole fic, just some of the early chapters. It ended up being a 65 chapter saga, told in three parts about childhood BFFs Justin Timberlake and Dylan Elizabeth Matthews. The first part focuses on them as kids – they both love basketball and dancing, and they audition for the MMC together, but only JT makes it. His leaving is hard for Dylan, who comes from an abusive home, and tho they don’t keep in touch, she follows his career as he becomes this international sensation as a member of *NSYNC. They bump into each other years later in NYC (he’s at TRL with the guys, she was in the building with her new BFF Mikey, at a dance audition). They hang, hook up, fight, and split (So. Much. Drama.), and they do it all in less than two days. A couple months later, Dylan has run away from home, ditching out on graduation with Mikey to join the European tour for a burgeoning pop star named Stevie (that was the audition at MTV studios). Dylan’s other BFF, Shui, comes to visit in Germany, and nursing student Shui clocks Dylan’s weird symptoms and encourages her to take a pregnancy test. And guess who’s having Justin Timberlake’s baby??? LOL

The second part is about Dylan working as Stevie’s personal assistant, raising the baby, and them all returning to the States so Stevie can establish herself in the USA (this was common for pop groups/singers in the late 90s, btw; it’s how BSB and *NSYNC did it). And O-M-G, who does Stevie book a tour with but *NSYNC! The final part is just more drama with Justin and Dylan trying to navigate being parents while not letting news of a lovechild get to the press while fighting their feelings for each other (and Mikey’s hatred for Justin and all straight men tbh). At the same time, Stevie and JC start up a secret romance of their own. There was another subplot about Lance and Shui, but I nixed that after he came out, LOL (yes, it took me like eight years to write this). Also, Britney is in there somewhere as Justin’s PR showmance partner who takes the whole thing more seriously than Justin does (I didn’t like her; still don't; sue me) and she, of course, doesn’t like Dylan. And she’s also mad bc Dylan befriends Christina Aguilera super fast. It's high school y'all.😂

Too bad the whole thing is stuck on a USB that doesn’t read on any computer I own, huh? And give me a break. I was heavy into the *NSYNC fandom and only 18.

Softest fic

Um, I have a few, I think? I'm not the biggest judge of soft and I don't write it often. So options:

- Love Was A Four-Letter Word – a fluffy one-shot where Tony wakes up from a nightmare but is comforted simply by Loki’s presence in bed beside him. And all the fluff about Tony not being able to tell Loki how much he loves him when he’s awake.

- What Are Friends For? – this was my first attempt at fluff. Tony and Loki are high school BFFs, and Loki seeks out Tony after a bad fight with Laufey ends with Loki getting face-smashed by the nearest heaviest object.

- Frosted Iron – wrote this for @abbessolute forever ago. Basically, Tony wants to get Loki to try a donut. Lol

- Just Because – literally cranked this out in like an hour after I tweeted about burning my chocolate chip cookies and an RP moot challenged me to write it as a FrostIron story. So I did. :)

Fic I'm most proud of

That's a hard one. I love most of all my fics! They all represent something different from different times in my life. But if I had to choose...I guess I have, like, a Top 3?

- Dark Side – mostly bc it was the first fic I started writing in the Avengers/Frostiron fandom. It was supposed to be a one-shot and bc of demand it ended up a trilogy covering nearly 40yrs.

- Empire State of Mind – one of the few fics that I wrote Tony as Iron Man and Loki as the God of Mischief, post-Avengers, semi in canon. I got a lot of flack for writing not one but two Major Character Deaths, but I wouldn't change it.

- Stay With Me – this wasn't the first WinterFrost I'd written (Can I Bum A Ride? and Second Time Around were first and second), but it's one of the few fics I'm actually really proud of. There was a lot of meaning and an unintentional message in it (fuck heteronormativity).

Fic that shows my progress

I'm not really sure? I've been writing, on and off, since 2000. I think I improve with every fic, but I had a long dry spell when writer's block was keeping from really writing a lot between 2013 and 2018. I had tons of ideas and wrote all my ideas down. I would guess then that the first fic I posted after that long draught would show some improvement. That was the first prompt in the 100 Ways to Say ILY challenge. "Pull over. Let me drive."

Favorite WIP

All of them. LOL. I want to work on all of them so badly that I can't decide which to work on first.

WinterFrost Single Dad AU – exactly what it says. Loki, a lawyer for Stark Industries, is reunited with his two young sons, Narfi and Vali, ages 11 and 10, respectively. Bucky, an ex-vet, former addict, and current elementary school teacher, shares a daughter, Gracie, who's 8, with his ex-wife. Any more backstory would get long and you might as well just wait until I publish the story.

WinterIron Bodyguard AU – Howard and Maria Stark have died in a car accident that a couple of NYPD detectives suspect was intentional. Concerned for the safety of their only son and heir, they encourage Tony to hire a bodyguard. Enter former Sgt. James Barnes, who runs his own security company. Their working relationship starts off rocky, but after Tony witnesses Bucky at work "guarding" him, things start to change. Past mistakes haunt Bucky as he walks the fine line between professional and personal – and at some point, he may pay for his lapse in judgement. At Tony's expense.

Royals AU Frostiron with a dash of WinterFrost – Focuses mostly on the princes of Asgard: Crown Prince Thor and Prince Loki. Thor is a heralded soldier, married to Asgard's best warrior – currently sidelined with a pregnancy while Asgard is at war. Loki is still reeling from a huge loss – and acting out, going on a joy ride with a hot young actor on the lands belonging to Lord Anthony Stark, the region's sole weapons manufacturer. In order to make amends and not put their contract in jeopardy, Odin makes a deal with Tony that calls for Loki to marry him. Royalty from all over the world descend on Asgard for the formal wedding announcement, including the scandalous bad boy Prince James of Romania, his mystery Russian companion Natasha Romanov, Tony's friends Captain Rogers and Dr. Bruce Banner, and more. Loki continues to rebel, even while Tony is staying in the palace (ahem, WinterFrost), and even as Tony's burgeoning feelings for Loki propel him to want to spill his biggest secret.

All I Ask, WinterFrost Modern AU – Bucky is a wounded vet trying to get used to life as a civilian after leaving the army. He moves out of the tiny apartment he shared with best friend Steve in his hometown of Brooklyn, into a sparsely decorated loft in artsy Greenwich Village. His new neighbors include a prima ballerina with all the deets on the building's residents (Natasha) and her hard-of-hearing DJ boyfriend (Clint), and an arrogant uppity artiste with awful taste in music who lives right above him (Loki). Bucky prefers to keep to himself – esp as he doesn't like anyone to stare at his arm, deeply scarred from a near-death injury. But his upstairs neighborhood has taken a liking to his face and asks to use him as a model for his upcoming showcase. With nothing better to do, Bucky relents and agrees.

And let's not forget I still have the 30 Day OTP Porn Challenge and the 100 Ways to Say ILY lists to finish, and I'm still working on adapting my WinterFrost RP into novel form.

Part 1: Hi! It's me again! :) (reviewing a little late) First things first, I absolutely love this chapter. I love everything that comes from you, and this is no different. I had a few minutes to read before heading off to my usual daily routine, and I've had like no time to actually digest it, you know? But today, I had some time to re-read the chapter and OMG!! I'm pumped up! The energy I got from the new chapter was unreal; this chapter was so beautiful!

Part 12: “He blew the candle out before Butch could flick the flashlight back on, but in that millisecond before the darkness overtook them, he could have sworn he had made eye contact with his smiling reflection. But Brick hadn’t been smiling.” I have been singing your praises with these last two chapters. Just magnificent. I just cannot wait for your next works and chapter! (This is the end lol.)

So, right off the bat, 🥺🥺🥺 thank you!! 🥰🙏🥳💚 literally my poor little heart. I’ve really got to post this on ao3 I think—my reservations about that website aside—because at the very least it would make these reviews/responses easier!! I think after the next chapter I’ll start uploading the story elsewhere, but keep updating here on tumblr first b/c I love my followers like the most lmao.

I really love this review so much because you really picked up on all the certain elements that I was trying to stress. Seriously, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts because, as the writer, I’m glad I’m making certain themes obvious enough that you’re picking up important details that will absolutely come back into the story later on!! The distortion, the initial innocent mundaneness, and the slow “hey, but wait a second…” were all intentional choices important to the story!!! Your thought process is exactly where it needs to be rn! :))

Also, one, you’re observations about HIM and what his pictures represent are absolutely correct!! I stole that theme from the show actually. As the audience we’re always aware that HIM is evil, but the characters never seem to realize that until it’s too late, do they? That’s what makes every HIM episode so good!! Even if HIM isn’t physically in this story (yet), he’s always watching, which is true in the original run of the show. I don’t want Him as a gag in this story, I really want him as that creepy evil entity that gave kids nightmares when the show first ran!

In regards to Boom :))) yay! Yea! He’s the insightful one! I try to make sure that the boys’ pigs are written in a way that reflects their personality. Hopefully that starts to come across in my writing more and more!! Because Boomer’s the more “sensitive” and reflective brother, I use him to my advantage and give him the most exposition and dialogue. He’s got a lot to say, “stupid” questions to ask, and really allows me to give readers those specific details other characters wouldn’t bother to look at! Boomer also speaks for Butch, which Brick does too, but not as often and not as extensively. ((But Boom still has things he’s tunneled-visioned about—he’s a bit lovesick rn 😉))

I chose Brick to be my stubborn unreliable narrator. The tunnel vision he struggles with is a way for me to make those bad choices you want to be pissed off at. Once Brick has an idea, it’s hard to persuade him otherwise, and that’s good for me, because his character naturally takes control and creates a bunch of story conflict. So, yeah, lmao I think he’s just going to be one of those “seriously dude?” characters, but tbh can you blame him? Who really believes in these dumb playground stories irl?? We all just know who HIM is, Brick doesn’t yet 😂😂

Also yessss!! Love that the last scene was creepy!!! I feel like I should clarify though that the fourth reflection in the mirror was HIM’s graffiti portrait. I chose to include it as a call back to Boomer’s earlier grip. Brick wasn’t ignoring a fourth body in the room/or a seemingly new reflection, he was simply ignoring the reflections already present in the mirror (him, his brothers, and HIM). I should have made that clearer in the story 😭😭 thanks for pointing it out. I’ll fix that when I post it to ao3 or whatever idk. I hope that doesn’t make it less creepy 😞 HOWEVER 👀👀👀 I should also clarify that you aren’t totally wrong. The things staring back at the boys weren’t reflections and Brick probably shouldn’t have chosen to ignore them.
