Bhaal talking to you in the journal updates is fun, but honestly nothing in BG3 has topped the one-sided conversations you get to have with this asshole in your dreams during the original games. It nicely illustrated how Bhaal thinks of his spawn and also gives you a good idea of how the Dark Urge's nightmares usually go. I feel like I'm missing things without having to listen to his ego every other night.

Look at this A+ parenting! (These moments have lived in my head rent free for at least a decade so I'm sharing them.)

He does not like when anyone other than Malcador and the Custodians communicate with her, even the primarchs saw her only fleetingly at celebrations. But the reader is completely satisfied with everything. She can do her favorite things and not worry about anything. Dream🥰

The description of the Emperor here is quite vague because I like the way he is portrayed through others's POV. But here we are.

You gazed into the dying embers of the fire, listening to the familiar sounds of your chamber settling into nightly slumber around you. Another day had drawn to a close within the confines of the Imperial Palace, but not for you.

Not yet.

You rose and drifted to the window, looking out upon the sprawling expanse of the Terra below. Lights in thousands of windows flickered like distant stars, whole hive districts darkened as the citizens within their live. All throughout the realm, lives wound down in preparation for the coming dawn.

All except you, it seemed. Not until he came.

As always, your thoughts turned inevitably to him. The gilded cage he had granted you so long ago, this place that served now as your one and onlyhome, however grand. A sanctuary from the cruel outside world, and yet, a prison nonetheless.

His sanctuary. His prison. His… everything.

Always he came to you here at night's deepest hour, even his Custodes can't come here. When the shadows within shadows held dominion and privacy was assured. That was when he would emerge like a wraith to steal what moments he could find in your company, before withdrawing back into the places from whence he came.

The routine had repeated for centuries unchanging. Long ago you had ceased to question its purpose or meaning. It simply was as immutable. Their tryst formed one more link in the chain binding your existence to his in servitude.

Tomorrow, as always, you would see him withdraw once more into isolation, leaving you to continue existing at the periphery, useful, beloved, and ultimately powerless. Another day would pass, and another, each one leading you gradually further from the life you had known outside these walls. From the dreams, ambitions, and connections of your former self.

Until at last even memory itself began to fade like mist beneath the dawn. Only he remained, constant as the Star to guide you remaining years. Your Emperor. Your Master of Mankind. Your God.

His coming disrupted your musings, as inevitable as the tides. You sensed the stirring in the aether that preceded his physical arrival, the subtle bending of probabilities and skein of fate. A shiver traced its way down your spine in premonition.

Turning, you beheld him emerging from a fold in reality itself. Golden light spilled through the rent as he stepped free, severing the passageway behind with a negligent wave. Clad as ever in gold, eyes gleaming like twin suns beneath his ornate armor, he commanded the room utterly.

A god made from a human. Destined to rule all, whether worshipped or reviled. Yours, eternally.

"My dearest." His voice enfolded you, smooth as fine wine yet bearing weight of aeons. "You await me still."

A statement, not a question. He knew as well as you the path each night would take, the steps they must dance through countless repetitions. And the ritual brought them comfort, as all such familiar routines do in a chaotic universe.

You inclined your head. "Always, my lord."

Crossing to your side, he lifted a hand to cradle your cheek, a lover's caress from one who spurned all other connection or weakness. For him there was only duty. Only for you.

You leaned into his touch with a soft sigh, closing your eyes the better to engrave this fleeting instant of intimacy upon your memories. Savoring each sensation as though it were their last, though repetition had dulled the keen edge of uncertainty long ago.

Your Emperor. Your constant. Your prison. Your everything.

i'm literally sitting here trying to figure out what EVEN i can SAY about aspec rayllum here? i think about them and i want to combust into heart emojis. i watched the first season when it first came out and then only happened to catch up last year with my qpp, and in between i was like. so infuriated when i found out they'd made rayla and callum a thing bc i - naturally - latched onto the green and purple character as an aroace icon at 18 years old, and my partner was like "no no no no TRUST me you've got to watch it, you'll love it"

they weren't wrong and after bingeing the whole show i'm stuck thinking about rayllum a LOT. they're written so much like my own ideal relationship that i kind of want to explode from it sometimes. anyway, my absolute favorite thing about them is how much emphasis there is about their friendship - to the point that when i watched season four, I can't remember which episode specifically it was number wise but when rayla suggested splitting up and offered to go with callum and he turns her down, my first immediate heartbroken thought was "she misses her best friend..." i just love how they're in love but they're in love cos they're best friends....11/10 no notes i need more relationships like that in media

ANYWAY long rambley ask about my loves aside, my question is what are some of your favorite moments where rayllum are so clearly best friends/goofballs in love?

No like honest to god though — me and the Rayla to my Callum are also in a QPR + dash of romance relationship and like... arc 1 and arc 2 Rayllum are just so goddamn sweet??

I don't agree generally that arc 2 Rayllum is more Mature™ than arc 1 rayllum — Callum is more patient and Rayla is more open, so they've matured as individuals — but merely just that they're different flavours of aspec-ness. Like arc 1 is the craziness and rollercoaster of meeting a stranger and realizing they're Your Person, and arc 2 is the deepness after the fact of "I know you, and I know that we can get through everyone so long as we have each other" mostly cause I think the main reason people label arc 1 Rayllum as more immature is because s3 Rayllum gushes over each other, but that's bc people have a hard time conceptualizing having deep admiration for your partner(s) that isn't infatuation... even though like? It's totally normal and welcome, like any long term relationship is "my partner is the most amazing person ever and i'm also very aware of all their flaws simultaneously" and like, arc 1 Rayllum hits that balance perfectly imo

I just love all of their stages and sides to them so so much

But yeah! Some of my fave moments Rayllum wise for the Best Friends quality has to be when they help each other up in 3x05 (Callum after the soulfang chase and Rayla on the ambler) because things are Weird but they're still always going to help each other? The "I missed my best friend" quality in s4 with no one laughing at Callum's jokes / talking about magic with him (vs their first scene in 5x01 being him telling her all about the magic stuff he's reading) and Rayla keeping her disappointment at bay always hits hard and I loove 4x06 when she's beating herself up and he takes care of her because a Good Relationship isn't about how you treat each other when everything's fine, it's 100% about how treat each other when life is hard/stressful and/or you're upset with each other

But I love all the gentle teasing in early S5 and the fist bump lives in my head eternally rent free. The 2x03 hug also means a lot to me cause that was the turning point she went from being a friend to being family and I think in a lot of ways, that's their relationship's most important turning point alongside maybe 1x06 (trusting her anyway!) 4x09 (forgiveness) and 5x04 (her opening up).

5x02 post-inn and stargazing scene are also faves just because of how happy they are talking about Nothing and everything, and like — that's just so fucking real, y'know? When someone makes everything automatically better just by being there

after almost 1 year in hospital, im starting uni this year finally :]

being sick really reminds you how nice it is to be healthy, so while I was thinking about dottore and fragile reader I just had thought that reader probably had days where they felt like they were dying as they were laying on their bed. They already have an unknown disease that makes them weak and then a sudden fatigue hits them one morning and they can't even open their eyes, can barely move their hands, their whole body trembling and such- I would be very dramatic when I am sick, literally crying and thinking, "Yep, this is the end."

so imagine going, "I think this is the day I die..." to Il Dottore, tHE DOCTOR.

Dottore just goes, "No. 🤨"

To be honest it probably isn't the end it just their body trying to fight the sickness but reader just immediately starts writing their last will and testament.

"For Boattore, I left my drawings, for Zandy, the plushies I have, for Clowntore, I-"

Then the next day reader is okay, and like, "😐"

So Dottore and the other segments are repeating everything reader said to tease them now.

Mhm, fragile reader definitely had bad days like that. The pain can be so bad and all you can do is lay helpless, unable to do anything besides wait for it to pass. Even when it's not physical pain, sometimes you simply don't even have the motivation to get up. It's just... really bad sometimes and you can't even predict when it comes, so it just hits you out of nowhere. And every time, you can't help but stress out and worry about what will happen next. Will the pain pass over? How long will it stay? These relentless headaches, aches, and sores? When can you finally get back to normal and go about your life? It seems like an eternity from now, and you can't help but wonder what will happen until then...

The first time you say that he nearly drops the vial he's holding. Did he miscalculate your pain? Is it more grave than he thought? He's going through all his notes again and asking you a bunch of questions rapidly. Until he realizes you're just (mostly) joking and being extra paranoid. His response is always to not be so nonsensical as he sighs every time. You're not going to die while he's around, he says matter of factly. Writing your will is... sort of a morbid kind of amusement for you. Yeah, ignoring the fact that you're planning for your own death, it's kind of fun to decide which segment will receive a little piece of you. There's a section for each of them with a mini-essay. Ahem, just don't let little Zandy know about this because you don't want to deal with a crying child blubbering about how you're going to leave him. And YEAH i imagine fragile reader says some pretty funny and weird things when they're sleeping or half-conscious. Segments are definitely listening in and write down everything you say to bring up later 😭

Thought I'd add to the Vocaloid discourse by pointing out that several "irl" bands actually started out by using vocaloids. You can find a few who talk about it in the Hatsune Miku live concerts (super cool use of holo developed for those too!). That's really the crux of what sets vocaloid apart from much of the machine discourse; it's CREATED oppourtunities for small musicians instead of taking it away. Specifically by not just supplying a synthetic voice program to work with, but by tying a star identity to each voicebank that makes people more willing to explore obscure artist music. It also distincts the works made by the vb's from the artists who were paid to voice them, so you can't make them say things that sounds like you're putting bad takes in the original artist's mouth. Everyone knows and understands it's a fake version for the purpose of artistic creativity, not an attempt to steal the voice of the original singer.

Anyway since we're doing Vocaloid recommends now:

speaking about the vocaloid debate- they haven't submitted the playlist yet, but if they listened to English songs using Japanese/Chinese/other voicebanks then it'll inherently sound a little off. different languages and different voicebanks have different pronunciations needed for speech, and are thus recorded for the voicebank. use a Japanese voicebank for an English song and you won't get the right words pronounced right, or you'll get an accent, etc etc.

also some vocaloids only have one or two voicebanks and that's it. Big Al only has one (i might be wrong on that, but i know his is for V2 software), whereas Hatsune Miku has every single voicebank made over the years (V1-V5) and has versions made to sing in Japanese, Chinese, and English. she has so, so much more variety than other vocaloids and can be more fluent and clear compared to lesser known vocaloids.

really funny hearing the take about how vocaloids/voice synths can't have singing styles when there's multiple voice synths explicitly modelled after particular styles. prima (opera), sachiko (enka), and maiko hakaine (screamo metal) are just the ones i can list off the top of my head. and even if a voice synth isn't modelled after a singing style, they can still be tuned that way!

I am so sorry it took me so long to get to this! I will try to make it up to you with my writing! I hope this makes you feel somewhat better! (also sorry that this is all about Optimus, he was just on my mind when I thought about angst and comfort... also semi sentient Matrix has been living in my head rent free for a while soooo)

Shifts and Changes

The Matrix is a mysterious relic, one which very little is known about save what the previous Primes have revealed. It was always strange to Orion that each and every one of the Primes to take up the mantle seemed to fall into madness after a time. Orion also never understood this or why the Primes kept knowledge of the Matrix and its secrets to themselves. But after coming to bear the Matrix himself, Optimus understood. Sometimes he wished he didn't.

The Matrix is more than a container for ancient knowledge, it is an artifact infused with part of the sparks and wills of all who have wielded it. Because of this, it is in a sense... alive. It has a will, an animalistic desire to see Cybertron and its people protected, by any means necessary. As such it has no issues changing its chosen champion to better suit its needs. It doesn't just remake their frame, it latches onto their spark and slowly but surely begins to connect to it, gaining a greater influence over the Prime with time. It molds their mind, giving it's Prime the same drive and desire, and it whispers to them, changing their very code, making the Prime become something... other.

Optimus is no exception to this.

In the beginning, the effects were minimal, in fact, he felt better than ever. His frame was powerful, his spark was enlightened, and he had all the knowledge and wisdom of his ancestors to guide him. However as time passed and the Matrix's bond with him grew stronger, he started to change. At first, it was small things, like feeling disconnected from the world around him in a way he couldn't explain and feeling the urge to nurture and protect the few remaining sparklings. It was off-putting but not detrimental, so Optimus chalked it up to the stress of the war and overactive parental protocols.

After a few vorns, he found himself seeing the world differently, from a more apathetic point of view. Things that seemed so important, so urgent, felt less relevant, instead, his thoughts started to drift away from his personal connections and toward the health of Cybertron and its people as a whole. He began to pull away from others, cutting himself off in a way that was not noticeable to his friends and companions. He still comforted, listened, and connected to others, at least on the surface. But he found himself looking at it as a duty, a function, and an instinctual part of his being, not his own desire.

His acquisition of Bumblebee both improved his mental state and simultaneously increased the Matrix's hold over him. For a time he stopped drifting away from others and his slowly growing apathy screeched to a halt. He devoted himself entirely to teaching and nurturing Bumblebee, almost to an obsessive degree. However once Bumblebee grew to be somewhat independent, the agreement between Optimus and the Matrix ended, the latter of which quickly renewed its efforts to change Optimus to better suit its purposes.

By the time Optimus arrived on earth he was practically a dead mech walking. His only desire, his only purpose is to fight and die for his people, nothing else matters. Any cost is acceptable if it means possibly defeating the enemy and protecting his people. In his mind he is only one part of a greater whole, a singular piece in a grand eternal plan. He is one part of the Matrix, an incarnation of Primus's will and one voice in the grand chorus. His own belief is that he as an individual does not matter, he is but a vessel and the Matrix's latest attempt to make things right. He could care less about his own wellbeing, only his people matter.

The team can see this, and while they don't understand his self sacrificial tendencies or why he refers to himself as 'we' on occasion and talks as though he were present in some ancient era, they still try to help him.

Ratchet tries his best to draw out bits of Orion, mainly by discussing old times in an attempt to pull Optimus out of his own head. It works sometimes and for a little while Optimus is just Optimus, not the Prime and not the newest attempt to fix Cybertron by the Matrix. Ratchet knows it is the Matrix screwing with his oldest friend and he hates the fragging thing even if he knows it has goodish intentions. He does everything in his power to give Optimus what little reprieve he can get from his primely duties. He tries, he really does, but he can't do it all alone.

Bulkhead, Arcee, and Wheeljack are not anywhere near as close to Optimus as Ratchet, but boy do they try and help their Prime anyway. Random acts of affection, pulling him into games with them, or simply doing their best to engage in conversation are their best attempts. Movie nights are also a good way for them to get Optimus out of his own head as the Prime tends to get distracted by a good story.

Ultra Magnus also does what he can by emulating Optimus's own methods for dealing with others. He will sit with his commander and talk, not about anything serious, but trivial things. It forces Optimus to think outside of his duties, at least partially, and engage with others. This in turn leads him to be more expressive, to separate himself from the conjoined mind that is the Matrix in order to respond appropriately.

Smokescreen doesn't even know he is doing it, but by being his fanboy self he forces Optimus to act like more of a living being. He reminds Optimus of Bumblebee when he was young and brings up emotions that are usually well hidden. The Prime becomes concerned for and affectionate towards the rambunctious elite guardsman rather quickly after his arrival. Optimus got attached and now he is physically incapable of being stoic and mystical when Smokescreen is trying to do something stupid.

Bumblebee does what Bumblebee does and gives his caretaker love. This in turn wakes Optimus from his state of resigned duty and gives him a chance to be himself. Sometimes Bumblebee will act younger than he is on purpose when he can sense Optimus has fallen deep into his trance. On those days Optimus can't help but want to be expressive and interested. He wants to watch his sparkling grow and change, and the Matrix is equally interested in the events. And so for a brief time every now and then Optimus is completely unburdened and allowed to simply be himself when Bumblebee gets involved.

The human children also help Optimus return to awareness and often don't even realize it. They are just so unpredictable and alien to both Optimus and the Matrix that both can't help but focus on the children. Optimus wants to express himself and the Matrix wants new information to feed to its future wielders, and so the Prime is capable of being emotional, compassionate, and inquisitive around the kids. The Matrix even purposefully pushes forward more of Orion's traits when around the children so that it can gain more data.

And lastly, weather Megatron knows it or not, he keeps Optimus from fully succumbing to the Matrix. His taunts, his behavior, and his constant callback's to his and Optimus's shared past make the Prime feel. He forces Optimus to feel. Not even the Matrix can stop Optimus from feeling rage, sorrow, and regret in overwhelming quantities when battling Megatron. It is the most awakening activity for the Prime and usually leaves him expressive and open for weeks afterwards before falling back into the Matrix's grip yet again.

I had such a fun time reading this story, the second-hand embarrassment is real. The Greek beach vibes are vibing hard. I love me a little self-discovery while on a vacation, all my personal milestones of self-discovery I’ve achieved on a holiday.

Do you ever get a little thought in the back of your head that wont go away until you write it down? Yeah, that's sugar daddy William. He's just living rent free in the back of my mind. If I have to suffer, so do you. Thought I'd do a little blurb this time to go with it cause why not. A few headcanons below the cut.

When you started working for him you were just a broke college grad struggling to make ends meat. "Go to college," they said. "Get a degree," they said. They left out the tiny little tidbit about being left in debt by said degree that by the end of your little journey you had no intention on ever going near again. Sure, college had killed your love of your initial chosen path (if you could call it chosen. I'd say more peer pressured.) but it had ignited in you a deep seated love that would last years to come.

A love for cheap pizza.

And Freddy's? Well, it was cheap as hell and seemed to always be hiring. Both being things that you very much needed in your time of need.

William noticed your struggles pretty early on. Or rather, he noticed you. The way you seemed almost desperate to keep the job, correcting even the smallest errors you made with a vigor and eagerness he hadn't seen for a long time. It was almost cute in a way. The way your hands would nervously fumble about and the way you looked at him almost like you were desperate for his professional approval.

At least, in his eyes.

You were more afraid he would fire you on the spot for a simple mistake. His reputation was less than ideal. So it was quite the surprise to you when his gaze began to almost soften and his interest in you became apparent. At first, you assumed it was out of pity but even your tired sleep deprived mind could connect the dots after the third or fourth time you caught his eyes drifting to your body.

The initial confrontation made your heart race in the worst of ways. He was your employer. If someone found out or if he ever grew tired of you your days of cheap pizza and reliable paychecks would be snuffed out in a flash. He assured you no one would and even if you went your separate ways he was professional enough to not let it come between you and your job.

While you had doubts in the beginning, he eased you in to the dynamic. It wasn't anything too demanding at first and it was anything but sexual though you could tell it was what he wanted. Despite his reputation he was rather kind. Patient. Maybe he genuinely cared and wanted this or maybe he was just desperate and tired of being alone. You couldn't tell.

It started small at first. He'd overhear you talking with a coworker about how little money you had for things you enjoyed or for food other than cheap pizza and ramen and the next day you'd find money tucked in your things. It then grew to so much more.

Though you're William's little secret he can't help but shower you in his hidden affection. Particularly in the form of some form of jewelry always on display. It's small, something too huge would blow your cover, but it's enough to make a statement to both of you as to who you belong with.

At first, you feared that your late nights at work would be noticed by your coworkers. Your stomach churning each time when you'd say goodnight to them. But each and every night they would flash you a sympathetic look. After all, who would willingly spend more time there than need be? And with William Afton? Word around the pizzeria wasn't of some sordid affair but of your mistakes and William's increasingly relentless behavior. To them, you spent your nights cleaning the eternally sticky film off individual plastic balls from the pit. Little did they know just how much of the night you spent comfortably sitting in your boss' lap.

While not all of it was sexual, when it became a touch more heated William enjoyed shameless displays of affection in his office. To him, the moment that door was closed you two were in your own world. It made your nerves eternally on edge at the thought of someone walking in while it did nothing but fuel William's own arousal. Hell, a part of him hoped that one day someone would see his pretty little pet coming undone on his desk.

But nothing drove him quite as wild as the thought of you comfortably warming his cock as he struggled to focus on the paperwork before him. It was both a torture and a reward and, at times, a constant battle for dominance. A well timed clench or squirm could make his fingers tighten around his fountain pen or, if you were particularly ruthless, make his fingers slide across wet ink dying them a deep purple blue. But, a grind of hips and a grip on your waist could send you mewling just as quick. There were days where he would give up the fight and let you ride your way to victory but often you found yourself pinned to his lap with no hope of release until he himself deemed it time. If he even did. You could remember at least a handful of times where he simply made you stand with a quick pat of your wide only to see him readjusting himself with that damn grin. He'd pat your ass and shoo you away leaving you wanting.

I think for Nat would be quality time and words of affirmation. N Sewell is a romantic and has the right line always ready, but they know how to make their loved ones feel important with the most casual statements too. For quality time, I feel like someone who has eternity for every experience would appreciate if someone who doesn't have that option decides to spend their precious time precisely with them.

For Lamia, it would be quality time too but also physical touch. She likes the quiet ways of showing love, but also there's something incredibly loving for her in people she cares about fitting in every area of her life. She likes hugging Tina and knowing she can rest her cheek on her head, she likes knowing that she can make Verda feel better just squeezing his hans and she likes how natural it is for her to lean on Nat when they are on the couch.

13. What would they say each other’s best quality is?

Nat would probably say she can't pick only one, but silently, she likes how determined Lamia is, even if sometimes gets between the two of them. Lamia doesn't need her, but decides to rely on her anyway.

Lamia loves how warm and understanding Nat is. It's very surprising to her that after 300 hundred years, or precisely because of that, Nat has managed to keep that side of her.

You've been marching from one side of your room to the other for what feels like an eternity, nervously nipping on your lower lips as you ask yourself again and again if what you did was a good idea.

Of course, it wasn't!

You don't know what got into you.

You and Hyunjin have known each other for some time now because of a mutual friend. You two clicked together really well ever since the beginning and eventually, you started hanging out on your own. Whether it was ordering takeout and watching movies, grabbing a coffee together or just you stopping by his dance studio to watch him practice, you two enjoyed each other's company a lot. He always told you your presence brings him inspiration for both his art and his music and you loved to be part of his creative process. Only after some time, you realized that the way you feel about Hyunjin is far away from just friendly fondness and at first you were quite shocked and didn't know what to do about this revelation of yours. When the feelings weren't disappearing as you wished for them to do, you came to the conclusion that you should probably confess to him. Or your best friend did and she kind of talked you into doing so.

And so you wrote him a letter because you knew you wouldn't be able to do that face-to-face and doing it via text just felt weird. 

But now when you think about it, maybe writing him a letter was much weirder.

Will he think you're weird now? Will he even talk to you after this? Did you completely ruin your friendship with this? 

You let out a groan, hiding your face in the palms of your hands as you finally stop pacing, taking a deep breath and trying to calm down.

Your attempt at regaining your sanity is interrupted by the loud, urgent ringing of your doorbell, making you stiffen.

You stay like that for a second, the intrusive sound dying down, giving you a moment of silence only to reappear with even more intensity, making you let out a defeated huff.

It's probably just your roommate forgetting her keys again. And you're really not in the mood for this.

You make your way to your door, pushing one of the buttons to unlock the door of your apartment building before you head to your shared kitchen to grab a glass of water, knowing that it'll take your roommate a while to make it all the way to your floor so you can open the door for you.

However, the knocking on the door comes much sooner than you anticipated, making you put down your unfinished glass before you head back to the hallway, grabbing the handle of the door without a second thought as you throw the door open. 

"How many times have you forgotten-" you cut yourself off as your eyes lay on someone else.

Hyunjin. Hwang Hyunjin, breathing heavily and leaning against your doorframe with your silly love letter in his hand. 

You're just about to close the door shut, your brain short-circuiting at his sudden appearance, your chest tightening with dread.

"No, wait!" He exclaims, sticking his feet on your doorstep, stopping your attempt.

You don't know what to do and so you slowly open the door again before letting go of it, your gaze meeting his shyly, your heart thrumming in your chest.

"I- I- I need to talk to you," he states, still quite breathless. He had to run up the stairs, there's no way he'd get here so fast otherwise.

"I- I'm not sure I'm ready for this, Jin," you murmur.

"You... you wrote this, right?" He asks, handing you the letter, making your heart clench in your chest.

Is he here to give it back to you?

You don't dare to touch it, only nodding silently to give him some sort of response.

"Did you mean it?" He asks and you nod again, this time meeting his gaze, your eyes glistening with tears as you expect him to reject you now.

Instead, he lets out a relieved sigh, closing his eyes as a scoff escapes his pretty lips.

You stare at him, paralyzed.

"That's- That's amazing," he whispers.

"What?"

"I feel the same, Y/N. I do for a while now and this," he states, waving your letter in the air before he proceeds: "this is the most beautiful thing anyone has ever done for me."

"You feel the same?" You have the need to assure, thinking you might've misheard him.

"I do, silly," he chuckles, making your heart jump in your chest. You let out a nervous laugh, running your hand over your face, still not believing this.

"I- I don't know what to say," you admit, making Hyunjin laugh.

"There's nothing else to say," he says softly, his hand cupping your cheek with gentleness unknown to you, making your breath hitch in your throat.

"I have a question though," he murmurs, centimeters parting you now, his hot breath dancing over your face, making your heart pick up a pace.

"Yes?"

Days of Thranto Past Appreciation Post Day 3

Rather than writing new this Thrantovember, I am featuring the works of others that I love. Most of these are probably well known already, but it's always someone's first time seeing a fic! Rules were: 1. Story must be completed, and 2. Thranto must be the primary focus of the story. I'm featuring 3 a day (because I couldn't cut the list down) at random - I'd love to hear your thoughts on the selections (and please give the authors some love, too!)

Of Estuaries by cordage

Eli jerked in fright as its head shot up, a gleam in its eyes. It gently raised a hand covered in blood and flecks of viscera to the middle of its chest, telegraphing every movement, and as it tapped itself, it spoke in a humanoid language. “Æ ɛɦɱ Ɱɪθʔɻɑʟʔɳɯɻuʊɗɔ. Ɱɪθʔɻɑʟʔɳɯɻuʊɗɔ.”

“I… I don’t understand you.”

It breathed through its nose and tapped its chest again, “Ɱɪθʔɻɑʟʔɳɯɻuʊɗɔ.” It then pointed to Eli, a decidedly human “Hmm?” expressed.

“You want my name?” Eli mulled over it for a minute, then placed the pants he was holding in his lap, bringing his own hand to his chest. “Eli.” He sucked on his teeth, and then gestured to the chiss, “You’re Myth-raaw-nurodo?”

The chiss looked displeased, its eyes narrowed. “Θɻɑʟɳ.” It tried, drawing the sounds out so Eli could understand.

“Thrawn, then?”

Eli watched on as the chiss, Thrawn, returned to his meal.

An AU where the Chiss are Sirens and Eli falls overboard his ship into the sea. As with all cordage's fics, it's really important to mind the tags, but if you can tolerate the contents the story is beautifully written and full of emotion.

“I am afraid that if I do what I want, I will not be able to stop myself,” Thrawn finally admits quietly, after what feels like an eternity. He lets out a breath he doesn’t realize he is holding and is looking at the floor. And at that same time, Eli grasps his hands a little tighter and brings them a little bit closer.

Eli knows that if he does what he wants, he won’t be able to stop either.

They both slowly start to creep into the small space that separates them and as soon as they feel their breaths just mere millimeters from their lips, Eli’s com’s ping rips through the silence of the room.

Loud. Obnoxious. Unpleasant. A reminder that they can’t escape the reality outside.

Eli and Thrawn really can't win.. but at least now they're together, and the delayed moment will be revisited. A lovely little piece about their dedication and loyalty to each other, despite everything conspiring to keep them apart.

“I've got you.” Thrawn said stepping between Eli and the sprung trap.

For a moment there was no suspicion, just shock. Eli let Thrawn maneuver him back into the wall, letting him lean there. “What- What happened?”

“Are you alright?” Thrawn asked, lifting Eli's chin to make him look up at Thrawn.

“Yeah, I'm- I'm alright.”

“Good, good.” Thrawn leaned down and pressed his lips to Eli's.

Eli kissed back on auto-pilot and through the terrified white noise in his head noted that this was nice, very nice.

It was too bad this wasn't Thrawn.

I think this was one of the first Thranto stories I read and it's lived rent free in my head ever since. A mystery, a fascinating monster, Thrawn being clever, Eli being capable, and the two of them working together to overcome the danger they find themselves in.

Whew, okay this is a little embarrassing the length of this and commenting in the first place(I prefer being a silent appreciator of writing) but I'll get over myself for like 10 minutes.

Okay where do I start? Omg there's so much to talk about. But first off can I say I love the soulmate trope so so so so much. Like it activates the full on feral can I have some more sir part of my brain.(yes that exact meme) I came across this purely by accident digging into the aizawa x reader tag. Fav pairing with this man btw. But once I got acquainted with the overall story and the plot.

I blew through the entire first part of the story in an about an hour and a half. I may be a little late to the party but your writing is *chef kiss*. Ugh yes! The entire plot is amazing and the idea of a villan with a soulmate type quirk along with the later introduction of a villan with a sex pollen quirk for some drama. Like I was tearing into this hand over fist, giggling at the slow burn of it all. It's not over done and the pacing was perfect. When I was read the part about the reader choking up a flower. My eyes got so big, I even said out loud this fic has hanahaki too? Heck yeah! I'll admit I was touch disappointed when it wasn't an actual thing but I understood how Aizawa jumped to the conclusions about from soulmates to hanahaki being a real thing. Lol I got duped right along with him.

(Definitely sounds feasible in this soulmate AU and would love to see how you'd explore it, should it be something that you'd consider in the future)

The club scene? Oh my god. Someone get me a wheelchair because that moment with him being tipsy and let-me-teach-you. And just playing into being a dom and calling reader a brat. Crying.

And the paperwork mix up lol. Suprise! We've been married for 8 months now. That was so sweet when he admitted he already had the ring at home.

And what slow burn 38k fic is good without some spice? It was amazing. Better words are failing me at the moment. But I haven't seen anything better written in years.

All in all, I wanted to say thank you so much for writing this. Am I going back to read the other soulmate pairings, because I need more in my life? Yes, yes I am.

I'm sprinting not walking to read the rest lol.

But seriously if I could pop a little confetti cone through the screen, I would. Because you did that, you ate it all up and left no crumbs. And I am eternally grateful and excited to see more of your works. No matter what they may be. This will be my new brainrot for the weeks to come and will forever live in my head absolutely rent free.

yeah idk if i'm gonna use hanahaki for real later? i am vaguely entertaining it for a character not committed to a route yet. here, i just wanted aizawa to freak the fuck out. fun fact: that hanahaki scene was the OG ending before i decided that aizawa and reader needed to suffer more :) and him teaching reader sexy things after teaching her school things????? i thought that would kill him :)

you are NOT late to the party; the fic isn't even done yet!!! there are at least three more routes (shinsou, dabi, and shigaraki) and a writer with a terrible uploading schedule!!!
