More ROTTMNT headcanons: random shit part five million

Donnie would pour the milk before the cereal

And then he would go on a five-minute tangent about how “this is the correct way to do it the internet has rotted your brains”

Leo puts the cereal in first (you know like a normal person) and argues with Donnie every single morning about how much of a heathen he is

The jokes on both of them they’re lactose intolerant (and they refuse to take their medicine)

Mikey eats his cereal with chocolate milk (but he still pours the cereal first cause he agrees with Leo (but he’d never tell Donnie that))

Raph just eats his cereal without milk

He will reach his hand into the box and eat it like granola and it disturbs the boys to no end

One time he ate the cereal dry and had a glass of milk right next to him

Just to piss the boys off

The boys all sing in the shower

Mikey has the highest voice (like I’m not kidding that boy gives Ariana a run for her money)

Raph is an alto and when he sings you can feel it in your bones

It reverberates throughout the house and you can hear it no matter what room you’re in

The twins sing both

Leo tends to favor soprano (though he is an excellent alto)

And Donnie tends to lean more towards alto (but he sometimes sings soprano (nothing feels better than hitting a crazy high note))

Leo and Mikey would lick the seasoning off of takis

Donnie and Raph would lick the frosting off pop tarts

Leo would drink milk out of the carton

When the twins are bored at 3 in the morning they dance together

They’ve made whole ass runtiness that they’ve memorized

They range from hip-hop to ballet (they love having range)

They’ve memorized the dance from Tangled (cause my sister and I memorized that dance)

Sometimes when they’re in their feels (cause let’s face it 3 am depression hits us all)

They’ll sit in Donnie’s lab (the only soundproofed room in the lair) and blast sad songs

Raph knows how to crochet

He’s made blankets, stuffed animals, and outfits

(He’s the only person to finish a temperature blanket)

Mikey knows how to sew he’s made quilts, and outfits (he’s the only reason the boys have clothes)

His brothers have more blankets than they know what to do with

And sometimes when Donnie isn’t busy he’ll make the boys stuff

Like game consoles or random fidget toys

Cause Leo can’t do any of that he wracked his brain trying to come up with ways to help his siblings

Then he noticed

Mikey would draw for hours without taking a break

Donnie wears his battle shell unless he's sleeping

And Raph is just tense 24/7

So he decided that he wanted to come up with stretching regimens to meet their needs so they’re not in pain all the time

The fact that it releases endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin is just a little bonus

The first time they stretched as a group it sounded like fireworks were going off

Leo was genuinely concerned and considered calling a doctor

(this is your reminder to go stretch)

Like everyone else, I downloaded prime and watched Red White and Royal Blue this week.

I really loved the main characters, and an enemies to friends to lovers plot is like the basis of half of my serotonin.

I was a little unsure how believable their relationship development was going to be at the very beginning. At first their conflict seemed extra contrived…even for a rom com. They didn’t get along because of some tabloid comparisons and ONE minor miscommunication YEARS ago? C’mon.

BUT…after finishing the movie and really seeing where they went with it, it makes so much more sense. And I really, really love it.

Both Henry and Alex struggle so much with their public vs private personas.

Alex is cast as the charismatic, smooth social butterfly; Henry as a reserved, pompous rock of a person.

But underneath that, they’re both insecure goofballs who want to be loved, support their families, and do good in the world for the countries they serve. (And that’s really why they ultimately work so well together.)

They’re such complicated people who want desperately to be seen and appreciated for their whole selves. That’s where their conflict stems from when they were younger. They both saw this other man in a similarly difficult position, felt this instant attraction to him, and wanted the other one to somehow recognize their struggle and see the man underneath the facade. Unfortunately, they are so worried about being seen THEMSELVES that they fail to recognize the same desires in one another…until the fall-out from cake-gate.

Once they resolve their initial misunderstanding, the conflicts in the movie really aren’t so much between the two of them anymore. Instead, the conflicts arise when their INDIVIDUAL values and public/private lives seem to be at odds with one another.

The very things they bond over - supporting their families and the people the serve - drive the wedge between them. They worry that if they show their private selves at all, their ability to be valuable to their families and to their people will be compromised.

In spite of this, we see both of them breaking down the walls between their public and private selves during their time together, and showing more and more of who they really are. Sometimes they are the exact OPPOSITE of their public selves.

As we see their relationship develop, Henry - ever the poet - is often the smooth and confident one in their personal affairs, while Alex is sometimes awkward and unsure of himself in bed.

“Your body comes back to me in dreams” (!?! Henry WTF how long did you work on that verse before you hit send).

Versus…

“Who says ‘make love these days? Are we gonna listen to Lana Del Rey while we do it?” (Alex again covering his nerves with humor for the millionth time.)

And when things really get rough, we see Alex stepping up to be Henry’s solid anchor in the storm, and Henry openly admitting to him that he’s not ok. (Is there any more perfect moment than the two of them collapsing on the stairs together, holding onto one another for all they’re worth!?! Part of me DIED. An Amazon rom com has no business making me feel feelings like that.)

Their individual progression culminates in Alex giving this beautiful speech about both his love for Henry and his hopes for the people he serves. He is every bit the charismatic leader he is supposed to be, but he’s open and genuine, with heaps of vulnerability and no pretense. He uses his experience to admonish those who would do the same to others, and re-affirms that his family will continue to fight for those who need support.

Henry’s moment is equally perfect for him. No grand speech. Dignified and understated. He simply steps onto the balcony, waves, and makes history. But he doesn’t do it alone - he has Alex on his right side the whole time. He’s firm in standing up for himself, and genuine in wanting to take that step not just for himself, but to change the precedents and expectations for everyone else in his current and future kingdom. No more hiding beautiful things in silent, dark museums, but pulling them out into the light with a calm smile on his face and steel in his backbone.

The central conflict of the movie starts with the problems caused by the discrepancy between their personal and public selves, and ends with the lovely resolution of that conflict. And their love for one another is the catalyst for all that change. Henry and Alex truly bring out the best in one another, and by the end of the movie we have to believe that they’re going to go on to do great things.

Plus it’s just damn cute.

Thank you so much @br1ghtestlight for giving me this ask!! 😭❣️ Just for the future, though, if anyone wants to give me an ask, it’ll have to be through this account, because any ask given through my main account disappears because I’m still Shadowbanned and Tumblr is mean 😒

But onto the actual question!! Well, Light, you already know my absolute favorite is 1,000% our precious baby boy, Gene. I think my favorite aspect about him is that he has some of the best lines in the show humor-wise, but he has a great deal of depth hidden underneath the surface. He’s genuinely an incredibly talented musician (even though he and show claims he only knows a few chords, come on, he’s actually super talented) and he’s such a sweet person. He doesn’t enjoy pranking people simply because it makes them confused and uncomfortable. He just wants people to be happy!! 🥺

He also has a bigger body type which is rarely commented on and he has a love of food which is super relatable to me (I just love food, pffffft). And the headcanons of him being Genderfluid gives me an insane amount of Serotonin. It just makes me insanely happy. As a Genderfluid person, it makes me feel seen and represented, even though he’s not canonically Genderfluid. Just seeing him be unapologetically himself is incredibly lovely.

Now, because there are just so many characters I love, I must list a second favorite. And that would be Bob!! Previously, I’ve said Linda, and don’t get me wrong, I still love her. She’s hilarious and amazing and truly the best wife (🎶 Best of Wives and Best of Women 🎶) but there’s just something about Bob that’s so relatable to me. He’s always tired but always tries his best. Not to mention that his passion for cooking and feeding people is just so sweet 🥹 He loves making food for people and having food bring people together!! It’s so lovely.

Bob is also super Introverted which I relate to very hard. He has a hard time making connections with other people, and has a tight-knit circle (AKA his family) that he prefers spending his time with. And he sometimes has difficulty talking to people without coming across as weird, which I also relate to. Plus, his little quirks are so endearing, like talking to inanimate objects and pretending they’re alive. And getting so hilariously excited about Thanksgiving 🤣

And Bob and Gene together brings one of the most underrated and sweetest relationships in the Belcher family. Their Father/Son relationship is always so adorable to see. The Laser-Inth will forever be my favorite Bob and Gene episode, and probably solidified these two as my favorites.

As for my least favorite, at first I was going to say that’s difficult, because I love almost every character in the show for one reason or another. But then I realized what the obvious choices are: Gloria and Al. They are the absolute worst. Linda deserves good, doting parents, and these two are the complete opposite of that in every way. Sure, maybe they were slightly better when Linda and Gayle were younger, but definitely not now. The Terminilator II: Terminals of Endearment really solidified just how awful they truly are.

Linda dropped everything to help them at the airport, even forcing Bob to close the restaurant for the rest of the day. Then the entire family went on a wild goose chase trying to track down both Gloria and Al, who somehow kept escaping from their line of sight. Only to find out that these two could’ve bought Al’s cream at the airport themselves the whole time. Not to mention the fact that they found out that Gloria just stole Bob’s charger and refuses to admit it. They keep making excuses for their horrible parenting and Linda just has to deal with it, which is wildly unfair.

Plus, Gloria once told Linda that they aren’t the type of people who build things?? Who says that to their daughter?? These two frustrate me to no end. Definitely the worst characters in the show, no contest.

Tina gets an honorable mention simply because of how relatable she is and how sweet she is. She just has such a kind heart like Gene (except when it comes to Tammy ☠️). But that’s okay, because Jimmy Jr. loves it when she’s mean 😌

My friends had talked with each other and bought tickets for each other to one anime convention that is now sold out and then asked in group chat that did everyone get the tickets, but no one had bought a ticket for me or reminded me at all like they had did with literally everyone else in our friendgroup and i feel left out and sad….

Would immediately tell you to get new friends and that they suck, like he genuinely thinks they’re not good friends and you should ditch them like they ditched you

But then he sees how upset you are and decided to bother you about that later, for now he’ll spend the whole day with you doing whatever you want to try and make you feel better

Makes excuses and pretends he doesn’t care as much as he does but you know him by now that he does care deeply about you, and doesn’t want you to feel lonely

When he sees that you’re feeling down and upset, he’s very concerned as to why. He tries to make you as happy as he can, did he do something wrong?

But when you tell him you just feel really lonely and left out by your friends, he encourages you to talk to them about it, and if they listen and change their ways that they’re real friends

But to lift your spirits as of now, he’ll take you out on a lunch date to your favorite restaurant

“NOTHING CURES AN ACHING HEART BETTER THAN GOOD FOOD!”

You gotta admit though, hearing him shout ‘TASTY’ does give you serotonin and you end up feeling a bit better after the date

“I’m only trying to help!”

Seriously though, she’s really angry at your friends for making you feel like this, and she wants to fix it as soon as possible. Would probably hunt them down and sweetly threaten them in her own way

And to comfort you she tries to distract you from the issue, asking you to help her in the Butterfly Mansion and help the butterfly girls with their chores, which does cheer you up since you love the girls and spending time with Shinobu, even if it’s just organizing medical supplies

He honestly doesn’t notice that you’re down at first, he has a hard time with social cues and stuff like that, so you’d probably have to bring it up first

“Sorry Mui, but I don’t really feel like training right now.”

“Why not?”

“It’s…my friends.”

Once you tell him what happened, he insists that training will 1. Help you channel your emotions and get them out and 2. Will help clear your mind and take it off the unfortunate event

He really does try to cheer you up, he just doesn’t know how yet

“Well, that’s not very flamboyant of them! Don’t worry, they’ll realize it’s their loss.”

Has his wives distract you while he restrains himself from going and talking to them. He doesn’t want to intervene, and make you think they’re only hanging out with you because your scary boyfriend demanded it, but definitely encourages you to stand up for yourself

But in the meantime, he’s telling Makio about it while you’re baking with Suma and Hina, and when you laugh when Suma gets flour all over herself, he smiles cause at least you’re not thinking about those sucky friends

NO SHE WOULD PROBABLY START CRYING CAUSE SHE DOESNT WANT YOU TO FEEL BAD

Like, she’s the Love Hashira, that’s not love! Why would your friends do that??

Would cuddle you to death, and wouldn’t let go until you felt as loved as she loves you. Expect lots of kisses throughout the day, more compliments, things of that nature

She just wants to make up for the loss of attention from your friends, so you are her main focus throughout the day (not that you aren’t all the time, but she’s doubly focused today)

I would love to hear about your experience as a park ranger! I'm trying to shift my work into park stuff (and nature stuff in general) and I don't know much about park rangers

Aaa hello!

So I was an interpreter at a state park, it was a small park with nothing too dramatic happening (@wild-west-wind is a ranger at a National Park and has more experience than me and talks about it in their park ranger tag). The best part about my park was that it was in a fairly suburban area, about an hour away from a major city, so I feel like it was really valuable for people to find this area of nature that was preserved right here near their homes. One of my goals was to show them that some of the nature there could be found at their own homes as well.

Idk what kind of things you want to know and whether I have the experience to answer it, but I want to say that my main goal was to connect people both to nature in general and, as I said, the nature around them at home. The suburbs can both feel like and actually be somewhat of a wasteland sometimes (this is a main theme in the book of short stories I’m working on). But nature cannot be erased entirely. People’s lawns are made of manicured monoculture grass, but that grass is still a plant. There may be a small group of trees on the corner, but they’re still trees. Butterflies, bees, and other pollinating bugs still come to the exotic and ornamental flowers they plant in their yards. Coyotes, raccoons, and foxes sniff around their trash cans at night. Birds, squirrels, moss, lichen, and countless bugs live in those few trees on the corner. Hawks sit on the backyard fences, and ospreys and herons fly overhead, commuting from fish pond to reservoir. And that’s only the life we’re capable of seeing. The local ecosystem may not be healthy, but it’s always there.

I want to connect people to that kind of thing. I want them to pay attention to the plants and animals that share their neighborhood. They don’t even have to learn species names, it’s enough just to notice that there’s moss on that tree or that there are multiple types of weeds in the crack on the sidewalk or that that one bush is always full of birds in the morning. And the start of that journey might be having me point out wildlife in a slightly more wild setting, teaching them to notice and think about and wonder about various different things. If I point out how the male dragonflies are guarding prime egg-laying spots if you only stop to watch, maybe they’ll wonder what else they can notice if they stop and pay attention to the bugs in their yard. If I show them the little spring flowers under their feet that they didn’t even notice, maybe they’ll look for them as they walk to their mailbox at home. If I teach them to listen to the alarm calls that birds make, maybe it will unlock a whole new soundscape in their backyard.

Connecting to nature is important both for conservation and for our own physical and mental health. The more we care about something, or at least understand it, the more we protect it. People don’t need to come away from my hikes loving vultures, but if they come away understanding that every living thing is connected in our ecosystem, that’s what’s important. They don’t have to like vultures to see the importance of that interconnectedness and consider their own role in it (although liking vultures is always encouraged). And not only is our health linked to the health of the planet, we are also a species that evolved in nature like every other and it is genuinely good for our health to engage with it. Exercise is one thing, but then also just being in the sun improves the quality of sleep you get and increases the production of dopamine and serotonin in your brain. Exposure to nature makes you more relaxed. Being aware of the living things around you is mentally stimulating and makes you feel less alone, and more engaged with the passage of time and the things going on around you. This is why nature accessibility is so important, both in terms of having natural spaces available to people of all income levels and in a way that works with our capitalist work and life schedules and in terms of making it accessible to disabled people, especially those who can’t leave the house. (Side note, I really admire how @geopsych gets people that nature exposure and connection through their photography)

So idk, that’s my mission as a nature educator. Yes, I love infodumping and getting to show people coyote pelts and baby bugs and all the little nature secrets. But that’s the larger goal I carry beyond the self-satisfaction of talking about nature facts. It’s a very big goal but like everything in an ecosystem, little impacts add up, and I hope I’ll be able to make lots of those little impacts throughout my life.

Hi BPP! Just wanted to ask how you’d do things if you were in my position. So my situation is very specific and I really don’t know my place in ARMY spaces. Here’s why:

1. My favorite dynamic among all bangtan pairings is definitely yoonmin. The constant bickering just makes me laugh so much and wish for more. I absolutely love how they just constantly challenge each other.

2. My biases are vmin. I resonate the most with Jimin. His existence makes me cry. I am in love with Tae. Everything about him makes me melt. Jimin is my person; Tae is the love of my life.

3. Lastly, I think jikook are dating…? I don’t actively seek their moments so I’m not really a shipper, I think. If anything, I’d be more of a yoonmin/vmin shipper because it’s their moments I look out for. But jikook is the one pair I keep side-eyeing because their interactions just bring out a lot of question marks in me. They have weeeeird energy, idk it’s hard to explain. How I feel is like how Seokjin reacted when Jimin was explaining the hickey (????) thing.

So to summarize, yoonmin gives me butterflies. vmin gives me a double serotonin boost. jikook makes me release an exasperated but endearing sigh (I say endearing because they’ve still become my top 3, not bcs of their dynamic—too cheesy for me lol—but bcs it seems they make each other the happiest).

Having mentioned all that, I find it really hard to express myself in ARMY member x member spaces (mostly on twitter).

Among yoonmin lovers, there’s a subgroup consisting of toxic taekookers hating on Jimin. Among jikook lovers, there’s a subgroup of toxic jikookers passive-aggressively hating on Tae.

I feel like I’m relatively safer among vminies in terms of interacting with genuine OT7 fans. BUT a chunk of vminies seem to have this annoying superiority complex over other shippers. A lot can’t even fathom shipping vmin romantically. Some of them sound almost homophobic, “u can’t assume they’re gay unless…” and it irks me especially as a queer person.

The thing is I prefer ship-focused spaces because the general non-shipping part of the fandom has the biggest superiority complex against pairing two people together. And they don’t seem to be genuinely open about the idea of the boys actually being queer. And I just don’t like that.

But it’s just so frustrating to not be able to express my love for my favorite duos without having to do it in separate accounts. And I still don’t feel safe even then, because I’m also second-guessing my audience, “u sure u really love jimin?” “u sure u aren’t token-stanning jungkook?” “u sure u aren’t token-shipping vmin?” “u sure u’re okay with them actually being queer?”

Sorry, you don’t really have to answer. Idk where I was going with this. I just like the thought of this reaching someone.

I've got a few more asks in my inbox like yours, and I recall answering an ask very similar to this almost two years ago - all that to say, I get why you feel your situation might be unique to you and it feels isolating, but ARMY is a huge fandom and I promise you, whatever you're dealing with someone else has gone through before and found their tribe, for better or worse.

There's nothing more to it than curating your space. Someone doesn't think you like Jimin enough despite him being your bias? Unfollow and/or block them. A joker is being obnoxious with their hate boner for Tae? Hasta la vista. And so on. If you don't know these people enough to have a conversation around points of confusion or disagreement, why exactly should you hesitate to prune your online habitat? There's no shortcut to curating your space - you just have to lean into the people whose values align with yours, and cut off the dead weight.

Hopefully that should offer you some comfort.

One more thing I'll tell you now that I told those people then who have asked similar asks before:

If you're the sort of person who is sensitive to how other people think or what they say, being in any big fandom will be a very difficult experience for you. Anyone who is looking for a safe space in fandom is looking in the wrong place. You will always come across weirdos, people who lack basically every literacy skill, conspiracy theorists, and high conflict personalities who think everyone's talking about them or that they're the only people brave enough to obsess over 'taboo' topics. It's enough for you to identify these sorts of people when you come across them, determine for yourself if their values align with yours, if they base their actions in fact and respect for the guys, and act in whatever way that maximizes your peace of mind. It could be a slow process, but with practice you'll get it. Taking frequent breaks and making ARMY friendships offline could help too.

I liked reading your ask because you seem to already have a clear idea of what you like, what you think, and why, but you don't seem like a very assertive person so what I would do might not be practical for you. So I hope all the above are better options for you.

When receiving, she would feel bashful for a second before showing genuinely that she’s happily grateful,,,

When they first met and interacted, they both usually talk calmly and respectfully to each other. But now they find themselves having their pinky fingers holding together secretly whenever they wait for the matches to start together, as if wishing each other to stay safe.

These two may not be very expressive with physical contact at first, but wait for the Puppeteer to be confident enough to wrap her long sleeved arms around the Undercover-/ih

Quinn is probably one of the people Rosie can talk to without becoming emotionally quiet in the mid-discussion,,, He just has this calm demeanor that makes her feel less self-conscious in the right way.

Sunshower rambling

This post exists because I just might explode if I don’t talk about this. I fucking love this ship. This ship is 100% copium but also 1000% comfort food. The shear amount of joy I gain from Sun and Ilia cuddling is amazing.

It’s so gentle yet intense at the same time. Especially from Ilia’s pov because of awkward and scary self discovery. Like she undeniably loves and prefers women, but here comes this person that doesn’t fit inside what she knows about herself, yet makes her feel so warm inside. Which I think can be pretty relatable for some people.

Feelings are hard enough when you know yourself but are even harder because she’s know dealing with new unique situation that she doesn’t want to dismiss, or necessarily confront either because it’s blooming love. Nobody just wants to chuck that away when it’s obvious the other person’s feelings are mutual. All the little things like glances, brief touches, and gestures all add up to internal questioning. Meanwhile Sun understands this is very different and unexpected. They’re both finding comfort after heartbreak but it feels more than just filling a void. It feels right, and he has to actively go at a slower pace than he’d like because he respects that this is a lot for her.

Ilia is a touch starved mess that finds herself surprisingly enjoying his hugs or when he touches her face tenderly. Prolonged cuddles automatically means she’s going to sleep because she’s typically stressed out. Both of them are dorks that make dumb comments about similar shows and songs they sing. Even though Sun seems like the ultimate extrovert, this is first actual romantic relationship so he is winging it incredibly hard. It makes Ilia laugh until she remembers most of her prior experience didn’t prepare her for gaining an emotional connection with boy. She can’t even explain completely why it’s Sun, but it just is. Kali thinks it’s a little funny and slightly concerning the girl is over complicating love. Nobody is going to yell at her for discovering a single boy that makes her happy.

I really love how the entire experience feels like an ongoing core memory. The blind are leading a blind but that can’t be helped. Ilia is still more experienced at the end of the day and many boundaries are the ones she built up overtime so now she has to let him in slowly. There’s also the slight fear this ends miserably and she’s not only heartbroken again but loses her first friend since leaving the WF

I will be a degenerate for a moment

Yo…I’ve never been a hoe for height differences or anything like that, however, it hits different when everything else is also a new experience. It’s one thing to have the mental crisis of “oh I feelings for someone I typically wouldn’t” but to have that on top of “why does my torso fit well in their hands?” Kills me. It’s over stimulation on another level. Ilia might as well be chewing 5 gum because every aspect of figuring this out is an assault on the senses. Both of them are actively pumping the breaks but only makes them more eager to get close with one another until they eventually stop thinking and lead with emotions. Both of them can’t help but melt a little because they know everything the other person does isn’t an act. They’re a genuine mess of emotion; desiring to be adored by the other.

They ruin me and I love it. Ilia being a bumbling Demi sexual for Sun why he’s a nervous mess trying to express his love gives me serotonin. Maybe I’m just a sucker for two people finding comfort in each other after heartbreak? I don’t know. The idea of Ilia introducing him as a partner because calling him boyfriend is a little much to handle in the beginning I find adorable. Meanwhile he calls her girlfriend and it sends them both to cloud 9. I also love them minding their own business and being pretty personal with their relationship. Lots of home dates and quiet places for them to comfortably find their footing without worrying about what other people might say or ask. I don’t know if wholesome possessiveness is a thing but that’s how I describe it lol. Ilia likes alone time with him and so does he. There’s emotional freedom in it like a safe place.

I love them. I’ve cried writing this ship before and I can’t express why coherently. They just make me feel a lot of things.

makes me sob!!!! most song of all time!!!! i’m know i’m placing it at number two but OH MY GOSH MOST SONG OF ALL TIME. when i’m listening to the soundtrack in my spare time i usually have to skip it because i’d rather not have an emotional breakdown on the bus at 3 in the afternoon. the lyrics just kill me. i’m so so so so thankful that they gave adam this song. i know he has another from broadway! it’s so good too! but i just really love this song so much. absolutely magnificent.

this song!!! i was singing it the whole time while finding that gif lol. i think i sing this one the most, it’s just so lovely. and it’s another one of the new ones! i just think it’s so sweet and full of hope and longing and it encapsulates everyone’s feelings so well. i’ve also heard/seen the original version, where adam’s mother first sings, and then near the end beast!adam sings. and while the lyrics are cool, i honestly love this final cut better. i think it fits and flows so wonderfully <3

4. Gaston

IT’S SO FUN. the choreography!!! the tune!!! it’s just sincerely such a fun time my goodness. makes you wanna hop up on the table with someone and have a coordinated sword fight that is also a flawless dance number.
