Nine Inch Rebar - “Just Us, Finally Free"
-fake SPN Parody-
🎶(sung to the music from "The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy)🎶
[Verse 1]
Guess who bested Chuck today?
Them wild-eyed boys who'd been unlucky
Haven't died, hadn't need to slay
Yeah man, that twist at the end was crazy
They used Jack as a power vacuum
He gripped Chuck’s face, spelling his doom
Then the new god left them too soon
Leavin’ the boys a’lil shaky
[Chorus]
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
We said, Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
[Verse 2]
The boys drove home that day to reminisce
Passing beer, sitting on their table, feels like life’s kiss
Yeah, barely no space between them, drowning in bliss
Taking swigs for those lost
Glad they don’t have to tap dance now
With Chuck gone, they could build their lives anyhow
Yeah, they write their own stories now
Going wherever the story takes them
[Chorus]
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
We said, “Just us, finally free”
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
{Instrumental}
[Bridge]
There’s no more strings, see?
Guess who's finally free!
It’s our story, Baby!
[Verse 3]
To celebrate their victory
They’ll go on a driving spree
On a route sixty-six journey
Thinking about the years gone past that lead them here
What was real, what was fake, Chuck didn’t control everything
They were true, their epic had meaning
Their epic had not finished
Now they’re finally free at last
[Chorus]
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
(There’s no more strings, see?)
Just us, finally free
Just us, finally free
(finally free, finally free)
[Instrumental]
[Outro]
Just us, finally free at last
They’re driving around the US
Just us, finally free at last!

This is Phil Lynott, he was born on the 20th of August 1949 and died aged only 36. He was the lead singer and bassist in the rock group Thin Lizzy and you have him to thank for the song 'The Boys are Back in Town'- it is not an American song, it is not Chris's Pratt's song, it is Thin Lizzy's song, an Irish rock band led by a black Irish man.

Lyrically, this is just a series of anecdotes about a group of people who all know each other, and are linked to "the boys," a rough, but good natured, group of young men. However, musically, it's much more than that. The guitar and melody communicate a sense of triumph that's infectious. The listener, despite not knowing the boys, at all, can't help but be excited that they're back in town.

The Boys Are Back In Town - Thin Lizzy - 1976
Good morning and happy Friday. I woke up today thinking about "the good old days" when Friday meant going out with the guys, my guys, my friends, my tribe if you will. As we got older and married and the kids came along those times got lesser and lesser until it's became a group chat. I miss hanging out and the card games and movies and bars and the diner at 3am. So today's theme is about friends, more specifically my friends and songs that remind me of those guys and those days. If you want to share your memories please send asks and they will all be posted. If you are still in those "good old days" enjoy them, share, it goes by in the blink of an eye.
Be Safe Be Kind And Be Awesome
