The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood

This game was so good I decided to write a review for it, which is,, not something I tend to do on here. My very subjective and enthusiastic game review begins here.

Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a visual novel where you play as Fortuna, a fortune-telling witch exiled from her coven and forced to sit around on an asteroid for a thousand years. This kinda blows, so she summons a Behemoth named Abramar (the big boy up above) to help her get free.

Abramar helps her make a new oracle deck with which to tell fortunes, and visitors come pouring in while Fortuna learns how to use her new deck and schemes to overthrow the leader of the coven that exiled her.

Gameplay: 5/5

It’s a visual novel, with no parts of the game requiring skill in anything other than decision making. This is not a game that is going to challenge any part of you other than your tear ducts. That being said, the specific mechanics brought to the visual novel by the addition of the oracle deck are fucking delightful. For any given choice, a card represents some subset of the possible answers for a choice, which you can then choose between. Sometimes you get unlucky, and pull a card that makes all of your choices shit. Sometimes you get lucky and can perfectly shape how a character’s arc goes. It’s really neat and can add a lot of replayability. Also, you get to custom-make all of your cards and some of mine wound up being really pretty. There’s no fucking feeling like drawing your favorite card that you spent 10 minutes designing while you’re tackling a tough problem. The game took me about 5 hours to beat.

Story: 4.5/5

I have a few minor gripes with the plot. Some of the characters and their arcs could have stood to have a little more time spent on them (the romance subplot in particular is… very fast). Besides that, the characters are all delightful, the overarching plot is FUCKING BEAUTIFUL and the setting is really fucking interesting. The game tackles things like gender, sexuality, fate/free will, and Lovecraftian gods. Their handling of these themes (besides fate/free will, which is definitely the core idea being explored here) isn’t anything revolutionary but it’s solid. I almost cried a few times, both during some conversations in the middle of the game and during the absolute beauty of a climax. There’s a decent number of possible endings the game can have (There seems like there’d be 6 main possible endings). As befitting a game that’s all about fate, your choices VERY early on will inexorably bind you to a given path, but the terms of how it all shakes out are up to you.

Art: 5/5

Gorgeous gorgeous pixel art. Phenomenal aesthetics. A variety of wonderful character designs. There isn’t much to say, it’s just pixel art executed flawlessly. There isn’t a ton of stuff going on, because it’s a visual novel about sitting on an asteroid in space, but god this game is so fucking pretty like jesus christ

Music: 6/5

Every character has their own theme that plays while you’re talking to them (and they’re all bangers). I will be listening to this soundtrack for a WHILE, and I will 100000% be stealing the climactic song for a D&D boss fight. It’s very Hyper Light Drifter: impeccable vibes and with a certain somber determination present throughout much of it.

Final Ranking: a very subjective 5/5

This game isn’t gonna be for everyone. Visual novels aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, and they aren’t necessarily mine. But this game was fucking awesome, and it’s currently $15 on Steam. If you check it out, I’d love to hear what you thought of it!

J/N: bro. fuck. my. heart. i read this on the way to work and was in a state of dissociated emptiness. this fic is so devastating. so absolutely heart-wrenching and so well-written. i love the author playing with the idea of what the depths of sanji’s trauma should have been and GOODNESS the plot twist?? no, don’t speak to me ever again, this fic always lives in the back of my mind and it makes me wanna cry and give sanji the biggest hug ever

“Please let me out, dad.” The tears dropping from his eyes were big and blurred his vision. “I’m sorry…I’m sorry that I was born weak!” He cried loudly and ugly, his cheeks burning from the friction of wet skin on metal. “Dad!”, he screamed in misery, but no one was listening. J/N: like I mentioned before, the tw are very real in this fic so if the stuff mentioned above will make you uncomfortable, please don’t read the fic. that being said, this fic is so well-written. it gets updated every once in a while but it’s the kind that makes you check every day. as of right now, it’s the one fic that I actively check on. the author wrote the story in a way that makes you feel BAD for the brothers, which is something that was built so gradually and eloquently as the story progresses. also. fuck judge. fuck him so hard. jesus christ. what a disgusting man.

J/N: we all know I love kidd. i love seeing him bitch on luffy, it’s just so funny to me. it’s also so lovely to see interactions between them with the alliance. this fic being from kidd’s perspective is also something i LOVE!!! just makes it so much more interesting to read, seeing his pov on luffy and law’s alliance is just AAAAAAAAAAAAA i love it

Please drop a fantasy book rec list, I'm desperate 😭

Throne of Glass 100000/10 it is the best fantasy series you will ever read. If you want epic fantasy that is better than LOTR with intense world building, different POV, character arcs all over, amazing romances and just an incredible plot that will leave you in a slump for months after finishing, then read this ASAP. Just buy the whole book set lol.

ACOTAR unless you dont like spice then pass on this, lots of spicy scenes. This is a very open romance novel but amazing fantasy. Same author as TOG ^

The Serpent and the Wings of Night series. There is spice in this as well but vampires meet hunger games essentially. Open romance as well. This is my next series I am going to read before ACOTAR.

I heard The Cruel Prince is good and is YA. Closed door romance.

If you like dragons then read Fourth Wing, SOOOO good and theres 2 chapters near the end with spice but you can skip those if you want. Also a warning, this is book 1 and book 2 Iron Flame comes out in November. This is an ongoing series and is said to be 5 books in total.

Of Blood and Fire is another good dragon fantasy series, YA.

I haven't read this yet but Six of Crows I heard is very good and is closed door romance I believe.

From Blood and Ash series this is on my TBR this is a very very spicy book, I think more so than ACOTAR lol. But it is a fan favorite in the fantasy genre.

Once Upon a Broken Heart series, the author of Caraval. This is also on my TBR but is very well liked. This is very much a romance fantasy novel.

i love the update! i dislike salyra. i tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but she disappoints me everytime *screaming* and i understand danzor is loyal to salyra but he needs to learn how to stay out of other people’s family drama. i have mixed feelings about him. i must say though, i love rana; she’s an adorable kid

i miss zikar and MCs family back home. in my eyes, they’re my home !!!! i don’t need salyra

More like five more years. There's was a lot of potential for Ahlf's character but the entire catalyst for the plot is his dying wish so... 😂

I love Anu a lot. She's passionate and wild, but she's also fiercely loyal and protective of a romanced MC.

Salyra and her new family are complicated to say the least 😅 Expect more frustration/angst in the future.

The Vinia family will make a reappearance in Chapter 9, so you'll see them again.

summary: The story of Thana and Patis, a long-term couple who is struggling, and Ryou and Mai, highschool boys who slowly fall in love with each other. Both couples will be led to go to a magical coffee shop where their craziest wishes can come true.

grade: 5/10

pros:

the acting was good. I especially liked thana's actor, and hope to see more of him! nice to see bhu bhudis' acting leveled up since manner of death :) gun napat was also really quite good in this!

you know, I gotta respect the commitment to this show. the writers had a weird ass idea for a plot & truly committed to it, and even though I didn't like the show, I 100000% prefer a show like this one than an uninspired show that feels like it has been seen 50 times before.

cons:

where to start? this show is confusing as hell. I know it's on purpose & shit, but imo you can make a confusing show that still makes enough sense to pull the viewer in, but here it wasn't the case in my opinion.

I didn't like the ending at all. the plot twist that the teen ship is actually the adult ship when they first met is SO weird considering they don't look like each other at all & had different names (which I know was explained on the show but still felt forced lol.) and then thana & patis still end up together in the end??? be for real.

speaking of thana & patis, I didn't like them at all. the actors had great chemistry, but the characters were entirely incompatible. the whole show was watching a couple that should've broken up months ago keep trying to be together & it was really annoying, ESPECIALLY when thana & that younger neighbor had SO MUCH more potential & chemistry imo! I was so frustrated they weren't developed more bc I honestly really liked them together.

even though I respect the vision, what was the point of this show??? it added nothing to my life, brought me no good moments or important lessons, and ultimately was definitely a waste of my time.

would I rewatch it: absolutely not lol

I went into this show expecting it to be a mess, and it absolutely was LMAO. Don't bother with this.

Currently my best build is Yanqing, my son and the light of my life. My main team is: Dest. Trailblazer, Welt, Yanqing, and Bailu !

What are your guys’ teams? I’ve seen a lot of people praise Tingyan, Nata, and Serval so I’ve been building them on the side. HSR is just… so good?! The play style, designs, gameplay, plot, and hidden lore… 100000/10! Probably my favorite Hoyoverse game right now, seriously… I’ve been playing daily and it’s yet to get boring.

God, I’d say more but typing on a tablet without a keypad is uncomfortable;; anyway, I’m writing and I’ve got a event idea I’m working on that entails making a fic/AU with all of you guys, it should be out by the end of this week so please look forward to it!

Rating Brazilian characters in foreign media (updated)

Jenny Kord (Blue Beetle)

Where do I start? Bruna Marquezine on her first Hollywood movie, playing a wonderful, brilliant important character in a DC movie. 10/10. I loved every second of Blue Beetle, I don’t care what anyone says, Jenny owns me. She spoke 3 words total in Portuguese and I was ready to give up my firstborn for her.

Iván Carvalho (Elite)

The whole “I’m in love with this guy who’s fucking my dad while I’m fucking his sister” thing? That could be the plot of a Brazilian soap opera any day, so 8/10 just for the pure chaos of that. I know it’s messy af, but it’s refreshing to see Brazilians that are not trafficking drugs or being thugs, so I’ll gladly welcome the chaos.

Also, I love how the show included the conversations in Portuguese between him and his dad. It makes no sense for two characters who are fluent in a language not to speak it with each other when they are alone or emotional, especially if they’re family.

Emilia Alo

I have been obsessed with Gigi for years now and she’s very talented, so I of course love Emilia. It’s great to hear her saying Portuguese words during her dialogues and singing Brazilian songs. I do wish the show gave her more screen time though, so I’m giving this a 8/10

Also, it’s amazing to see a Brazilian character that’s bisexual and an artist in a mainstream Netflix show!

Marlon Sousa (Surviving Summer)

I know nobody watches this show but it was a really good surprise, similar to Ivan’s case, it has dialogues in Portuguese between Marlon and his mom, which is always great to see! It even has a scene where the character briefly talks about how hard it was to adapt to a new country and language and how important surf was to him in that process, overall 8/10

Roberto da Costa/Sunspot (The new mutants)

Burn it. Burn the whole thing down. Shamelessly white washing one of the few Brazilian superheroes (are we even surprised though, coming from Marvel?) was ridiculous. What the hell were they thinking, -100000/10

Vanessa (Taxi)

Look, is this movie good, objectively speaking? No.

Was this character a robber and a criminal - very stereotypically so? Yes.

Was Gisele Bündchen drop dead gorgeous in this and my gay awakening? Also yes.

So I’ll give her 7/10 for this sole reason

Paolo Montes (Trials of Apollo)

Look he is a very minor character with barely any lines and quite stereotypical features. That being said, he’s quite Brazilian in his refusal to say things in English, just speaking Portuguese nonstop and leaving the gringos to figure it out, which I love. Also the Brazilian kid having the worst luck and being Hebe’s son is quite funny. So I’ll give him 7/10

Eduardo Saverin (The social network)

Okay. I get it. Andrew is great, the whole “smacking a keyboard down” scene is amazing. It’s a 2010 movie, made before representation was a hot topic.

All that being said, the character is based in a real person. Kid’s name is Eduardo. He was born in Brazil, even though he was raised in the states.

Rubs me the wrong way he’s not played by a actor with a similar background. However, Eduardo, just like Andrew, is of Jewish descent through his immigrant grandparents, which is very accurate. Win some, lose some, I guess. Give it a 5/10 I suppose?

Honorable mention:

Rio

It’s a movie about blue macaws (Araras azuis in Portuguese), not a character in itself, so no ratings.

Even though it’s an USA-made movie, Rodrigo Santoro (all of our mothers’ crushes and a famous Brazilian actor) plays the main human character and the director is Brazilian. The songs are great, but English simply doesn’t do this movie justice.

This film in Portuguese marked my childhood, which is a testament to how great Brazilian dubbing is. Please listen to Hot Wings (Brazilian version).

Note: I know there were a few Brazilians in Shameless, never watched the shows but know they were drug dealers - which, yeah, not fun. I did see some scenes where Portuguese was being spoken though and it was quite funny.

good evening~~ here’s my very cursed(!!!) top 10 list on the most redundant [redacted] anime features off the top of my head~~

debates and disagreements welcome~

10- lxl and basketball

pointless inclusion that was pretty much just an excuse to get chiz to openly thirst over aizo. and to emphasise on just how much better aizo is at sports as compared to his poor sidekick yujiro. just male leads being male leads, ig

i mean, sure, it gave us that beautiful ball e mv, but lxl’s sporty [redacted] anime-induced hobby wasn’t worth much in general.

9- the inclusion of ⅘ of gen 2 tbh

they were pretty much just background extras for the most part, except for ken, who gets bonus moments thanks to being the male lead’s brother. heck, poor kodai doesn’t get much time to shine, despite being the adoring bf of one of the three heroines of the show. mans got more screentime either behind his camera, or as juri love flashbacks during her conversations with the jk trio.

as for the others, arisa got like 5 seconds of screentime (and 4 of them occurred in the sports fest ep, romeo ed included), and kotahina were nerfed to heck and back. they were written to be competitive and stubborn characters, so why were they portrayed to be nothing more than your average caring senpai towards hiyoko? a nd cultural festival w h e r e ? helloooooooooo~~~?

sure, the sports fest ep did give gen 2 in general a chance to show their stuff, but it was clearly more of viewer fanservice for pre-[redacted] anime fans who know and love these characters for who they truly are.

8- aizo’s “trauma reveal”

idk about you, but hiyoko does not need to know about aizo’s trauma. i mean, yeah, i totally get where ken’s coming from. as a scumbag older sibling myself, i, too, get the urge to dump lots of info about my brother to complete strangers. but. it’s just that. hiyori… really didn’t need to go “oh thank god it wasn’t real trauma. now. how can i fix him?”.

she really didn’t need to say that mans. all forms of trauma are valid forms of trauma… if that makes sense. she can’t just decide that someone’s trauma “isn’t real trauma” and then go ahead and liken it to her dislike for squid. and that includes aizo’s trauma with ladies. not cool.

on the bright side, at least aizo’s local idol boo yujiro took his trauma seriously and stood by him even as their manager had a trauma minimising session with his brother. and speaking of yujiro…

7- that someya ‘scandal’

what the heck was that ep 4 someya scandal lmao. it’s never brought up again????? not even by koichiro and tamagoro in the later episodes??? do they even know that there was a scandal about them??? bruh. what was it even there for lol. the gayze???

i mean, yeah, he’s totally the shame of the someya family for going ahead to be the less popular member of a popular idol duo, with said idol-ling being something he had received the head of said someya family’s permission for. but he had debuted without his family’s name anyway so??? does it even matter???

it would’ve actually made sense if it had a call back in a later episode, with, like, the reveal that maybe chizuru or one of the 100000 aizo stans there apparently are had leaked yujiro’s last name online in an attempt to take him down so that aizo can have a solo idol career or something. but no. it’s just never brought up again.

but before we drop the topic of yujiro like how his in-universe popularity dropped to 0 in the adaptations…

6- yujiro arrest reason

this. made. no. sense. either.

did the [redacted] anime throw darts at a dartboard of possible plot ideas to decide how the someya family side plot was going to go?? or was it decided with an online prompt generator?? or was it the result of a game of mad libs with the office crew????

like? lol? who smuggled koichiro into the bar??? and wh o let baby face yujiro into the bar??? and how did none of the staff at the bar question it?

though. wait. how the heck did hiyoko even see enough distinctive features of yujiro’s during the night that she witnessed his police encounter to identify him when they next crossed paths in the classroom? she was looking at him from above from her spot on a flight of stairs in dim lighting. just how good is her eyesight? hello?

5- repurposed yumefan

yeah yeah i k n o w the [redacted] anime staff justified their choice to use yumefan as a song to encourage hiyoko bc “it’s a song about encouraging others” and stuff. but still. yappa saikyou would probably have worked too, since it’s about not wanting to lose to your rivals and aiming to surpass the rest and stuff like that. or they could’ve just. y’know. kept nonfan in their setlist anyway if they wanted to dedicate a song to their friend(?) slash manager, since that song’s mv was the first mv that hiyoko had worked on, and thus, ✨memories✨ are there, y’know?

either way, the [redacted] anime staff saw yumefan, decided “ok it’s for women now” and had it dedicated to hiyoko and got the narumi sisters to cover it as a special ed. much wow. aizo would be proud. and speaking of aizo…

4- yuko in the countdown live

she moved to france in the lxl movie, so what is she doing here in the first place? to watch her estranged son hxld hxnds with some rando onstage? go back to france, yuko.

3- nagisa arc

the main problem i have with nagisa’s arc is how forced it felt tbh. it kinda felt like it was just. shoehorned into the plot? it just. didn’t flow well. like… especially how nagisa was completely written out of the plot after he hopped on that train. lxl had been teasing hiyoko relentlessly about nagisa till he left. then it was just like. he never existed?? excuse???

i mean. i love nagihiyo. don’t get me wrong. it’s just… the way the [redacted] anime staff plotted it into the story felt… off.

look, you see, i think the nagisa plot would’ve worked better as a season closer. like, after all that friendship drama and scandals and stuff, we get a breather in the form of the nagisa visit. he could be visiting for the countdown live, or for a christmas or new year’s visit for all i care, but it’d give the lxl + hiyoko trio, with newly strengthened bonds of friendship after all they’ve been through (thanks chiz), a chance to show off their cooperative skills with the hiyoko makeover sequence and subsequent nagisa encounter. heck, it’d even give nagisa another reason to be wary of lxl, since “aren’t these the dudes from that relationship scandal you were in? you should be more careful around them fr” could be a legit point of concern. plus! it could lead into a post-series uni timeskip or something for that sweet, sweet nagihiyo uni arc crumbs!!

hmmm. well. in the end, i still hate how nagisa’s existence was all but retconned after his episodes. poor lad. he deserves better!!! and speaking of deserving better…

2- the narumi sisters’ appearance

for sena, as she has co-starred with lxl in the past, and since she is still in the industry, it’s no surprise that she’d make an appearance or two. however, the r e a l problem is how she was handled. she was only abruptly thrown into ep 6 to fit in yet another “uwu woe is me im not cute uwu” hiyoko moment in the 24 minutes of terror. plus, those sena-mona moments make no sense whatsoever if you’re a [redacted] anime-only who doesn’t know how lxl and the narumis know each other. viewer fanservice at its finest, ig.

w h o is that girl and why does she have our angel’s name and face? i swear, the only redeeming trait she has is that her character design was done by moge, which is. yeah, much cuter than her lxl movie cameo appearance.

but aside from that. who is she? she has no goals, no ambition, all she does is go “uwu i look up to my sister who i envy… but nvm i’m here to be your relationship therapist so that’s enough about me—”

she doesn’t even get to perform in the [redacted] anime even though there was an entire joint-artiste concert in the last episode. she doesn’t even salt about her nasty encounter with yujiro (which would’ve made for a more interesting topic during her second encounter with hiyoko when they talked about conflicts with friends, instead of being demoted to a bonus manga tbh). she’s so bland, she makes plain spaghetti taste like carbonara.

and speaking of carbonara, we return to lxl for number one, which is…

1- the lxl shower scene (no image bc g o o d l a w d w h y w o u ld i include it)

they are 15. we don’t need that extended shower scene. we don’t need to know that hiyoko has no qualms about barging into the showers for the opposite gender, with said members of the opposite gender being completely nude and uncomfortable when she did so. we just. didn’t need to see any of that.

who was that scene even made for? help???? just how bad did they think their own show was that they felt the need to put in an out of place scene of teen boys showering to pad the runtime?? excuse???

ok lemme sell you on these shows!

home fires: v soapy wwii homefront cosy drama about the wives/etc left behind after all the men are conscripted, who all join the women's institute. they make jam from the blackberry bushes to help the war effort! the switchboard girlies are all eavesdropping gossips! there are secret lesbians! female pilots! farmers! housemaids with big dreams! the book it's based on was called "jambusters" if you wanna know how unserious and unbleak it is. there were only two seasons (12 eps in total) and when it got cancelled by itv, people were like... petitioning the government to force them to carry on making it lmao. i'll give it a 7/10. it's just something nice to have on in the background with v little effort.

tenko: THEE love of my life. no other tv show can come close. it's about british/dutch/aussie/chinese women in singapore at the outbreak of war who get captured by the invading japanese army and put into pow concentration camps. at one point there is a death march through the jungle. there is lots of disease and torture and starvation and misery and death and all sorts of violence and no one is safe. and at one point they plant some of their beans in the hope of doubling their food ration but then have to leave them behind #heartbreak :(((( this makes it sound bleak BUT! it isn't! i promise. it's sooo dramatic, about fifteen plot points happen every episode. people you trust turn out to be dicks, people you hate turn out to have a heart of gold. people you thought were main characters die. everyone wears the same outfit for years, getting more and more disgusting as the episodes continue. the women are all literally revolting and scabby and stained. there are barely literate housemaids, colonial toffs, suspected lesbians, cockneys, landed gentry anarchists, secret jews, dutch nuns, communists, the boymom from hell, a cat called pudding, all sorts all shoved together like one big ensemble comedy from hell. it's sooooo good. the first couple of episodes are kinda slow before everyone loses their marbles and the drama begins, but bear with it ok, it is 100000% worth it. 11/10, my fave period drama of all time.

First of all, I love this. I asked for copy on my desk by morning and you delivered, fantastic. I'm also laughing because Masterpiece promos made Homefires seem like a very serious drama and what you are telling me is much more appealing.

Also LMAO at 'petition the government' when I found out the BBC canned The Crimson Field I was ready to CAUSE PROBLEMS. Unforgivable. An act of aggression.

Soo I was literally a kid, but they had me from their first scene of Hürrem screaming Süleyman's name in the hallway

I have said this before, it's Hürrem, Süleyman and Ibo. I mostly just think they're the most interesting characters tbh, but I also love Nigar, Defne, Daye etc.. and Ibo can annoy me so it depends

How do I choose just one.. hm maybe Sümbül stealing Gül's clothes😭 like that was soo stupid. I would say the entire s2a, but it says like one scene so..

Hmm it is genuinely fun to watch, characters are pretty well written, it's fun to binge once in a while. And yeah a lot of interesting female characters. About the gifs, I've no idea, but there's this Hürrem edit that I adore and everyone should check out

Hm it has a lot of good scenes.. some are cute, some are awful. I guess I'll do the basic Leo, Hürrem and Ibo's final scene. It is a pretty good scene, even though I don't think abt it that much😭

So there were literally these short commercials for this show on tv and I thought that it would be something stupid idjdjsj but then I watched the first episode because I was rlly curious and yeahh continued watching from there

Fanon-Ibrahim&Hürrem, I just don't see any romantic chemistry between them at all

F- Ibrahim&Süleyman, so I think their relationship works perfectly fine and is interesting as it is. Anything else would feel forced?

Canon- Ibo&Hatice, I don't hate their scenes, they are believable as a married couple, but I just don't see anything to really enjoy abt them and to ship here

14. If I think the largest majority of fics I crave for it are fix-its, nobody-dies-everybody-lives, fluffy fics of my OTP, pining fics for my OTP, or plot heavy Gen stories?

Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional

Age Gap: -2/10

I've always kind of been toing and froing on this one. I think it's mainly how big the gap is and if it's legal. A minor and teacher? Hard pass. Up to, let's say, 10 years (in adults), I can go with it if it's good.

Codependency: 0/10

Hmm, I think it depends for me on what the rest of the tags would be. If it's a healthy relationship, a lil codependency won't hurt it. Or if it's part of a bigger plot and it's needed for that angst sprinkle... But if that's the main point of the fic, and it borders a bit on the crazy, destructive, I'd probably pass.

Enemies to lovers: 100000+/10

When I say, I eat these fics up... I think this is probably the tag for me. If I see this, most of the time, I click it. There's just something in this trope - the angst, the hurt, the step-by-step unravelment of the story, the eye-openers... I just love it <3

Enemies With Benefits: 8/10

Probably a yes, but only if it's part of the enemies-to-lovers tag. Because otherwise, I can't quite understand it, and like Skye said... too much of it in the real world, and it ain't good.

Fake Dating/Relationship: 0/10

I don't quite have a special opinion on this. If the rest of the tags interest me, I'm all in. For example, if it's combined with enemies-to-lovers (is this a pattern? 😂), I'mma dive straight in! Otherwise, we carry on.

It's just not my cup of tea. I don't know why, but whenever I've seen movies or read books, whatever, with this trope, it was never the main point that got me into it. Sometimes it's overly sweet (not saying that's bad, but there's no angst or interesting pinning moments or drama in them), and sometimes, it's just the Ross-Rachel thing (don't get me started there 🙄)

Friends With Benefits: 0/10

No special thoughts on this one, either. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. Kind of always depends on the rest of the tags, I guess 🤔

Hurt/Comfort: 100/10

I am not as eloquent as Skye is, so... everything she said, I agree. I just love the pain part wrapped in care and comfort... Winter hug y'all!

Very much depends on who the characters in the triangle are and what outcome there may be. But in general, again, depends on the rest of the tags.

It can be good, but for me, it depends on the story and the idea behind it. If it creates more drama and suspense and "uuu no, they didn't" kind of moments, then I'm so in for that. Like a spy thing or a secret agent kind of stuff.

Ummm no. Just no. (Excluding paranormal romances. Love those.)

Obsession, Possessiveness, etc.: -8/10

This just doesn't work for me. To be fair, if it's a tiny, microscopic amount, part of jealousy, then I can roll with it. Otherwise, if it's a main piece, it's definitely a no.

I do believe that you can't have two characters (as in life) together that are completely the same. You have to have one like one thing, the other not; one is evil, the other not (see my pattern again? 😂). Buutt, they kind of have to have something in common, right?

Up to the point where I started writing threesomes, I would've probably said meh. Now, smut fics can be fun with poly. But relationships... I guess I'm still no for my main ships.

I don't usually go for fics with this tag, but it depends on my mood. Sometimes I wanna see how other people perceive those possible moments. Who knows, I may have to write something like that someday.

In A Bind - NSFW - by @im-gettingby

I read this ages ago, but I recently thought of it again and realized I never recommended it. @im-gettingby writes some of my favorite smut. Their characterization is always so good and it plays into the sex of this bondage fic perfectly. The way Simon takes control is incredible hot, as is the way Baz's walls come down. Very them, extremely sexy, and worth multiple reads.

A Pint's a Pound - NSFW - by @stillmadaboutpetra

I love @stillmadaboutpetra's brain. It is a work of art. Every single fic I've read from them is 100000 out of 10, and this raunchy bakery AU is no exception. Here we have deranged pastry chef Baz, stressed baker Simon, and a downtown Watford that isn't (is) big enough for the both of them. Every chapter is like you favorite sweet covered in crack. You will hoover this shit up. Hilarious in a way that makes you say "WOW" and hot to boot. So good.

5 Days, 5 Nights, All-Inclusive - SFW - by RooBadley

What a treat, Roo is. This fic is kick-your-legs-as-you-roll-in-bed-and-squeal levels of enjoyment. Featuring the infamous singles tour of Magickal Britain, this get-together later in life fic takes us to a haunted Tesco (excuse me, Tesco Extra), crystal caves, castle ruins, and a hotel room featuring a statement bathtub. Roo's banter is so goddamn good and the development of Simon and Baz's relationship is sweet and savory. It goes down easy, so eat up.

Out Of This World - SFW - by @mostlymaudlin

I 👏 love 👏 this 👏 fic! Baz works retail and Simon is a weird (but hot) customer in this sci-fi short story that has heart and laughs and a very memorable scene involving cutting spaghetti with a butter knife. As someone who worked retail, this fic hit me with unexpected nostalgia and I pictured the entire thing taking place at the Club Monaco in my local mall. It's amazing how much story there is in only 2.5k. Quirky, cute, and perfectly titled.

How to Avoid a Scandal - SFW - by @you-remind-me-of-the-babe

Fake-dating friends-to-lovers with a side of hollywood! Baz and Simon are the stars of the hit series The World of Mages who end up in a fake relationship in order to counter the threat of a different relationship scandal. The way the fic plays with canon elements in both the main storyline and the CW-esque show is really clever, and I LOVE the celebrity element. It's fun, it's cute, it's smart, and it has the best fake ship name for snowbaz.

(Also if fake relationships are your jam - check out Unintended from @captain-aralias. Includes engagement rings, a cool family magic plot point, kisses that come with convenient excuses, and Shepard-the-wise.)

What's Left - NSFW - by @cutestkilla

This fic lives in my bones. It is one with my marrow. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when it's over. This now the third time I've included this in my recs, but I people are sleeping on it, so I'm going to continue to scream about it in hopes more folks will bite. The plot revolves around the In(Sid)ious Humdrum and Baz teaming up to hunt down the Mage after he killed Simon at the White Chapel, and it takes us through an emotional and extremely well crafted journey that explores grief, love, guilt, and forgiveness - all served up with a side of choice pop culture nods. It is top tier. One of the best fics I've read.

I keep watching movies and then forgetting to post that I watched them, so I figured I'd just make one post to talk about them all 😭 Here are a few movies that I've watched in the last couple of months or so, with short reviews:

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves -- This movie was EXCELLENT, and I adored it 😭💖😭💖😭💖 It's literally like the writers took all of my favourite character types and put them in a movie and made them a found family. 100000/10. My only complaint is that Zia was not brought back at the end ://// I know there were reasons for this and Edgin needed to let her go and blah blah blah, but I don't care. I CARE about HER 😩 (I mean, just to clarify, I wouldn't have wanted her to be brought back instead of Holga, but I still want her back 😔). Actually, another thing I didn't like was that Xenk didn't permanently join the party 🥲 I also understand why this was, but still 😭 But, besides those things, the movie was perfect 👌👌👌

The Great Gatsby (2013) -- This movie was,,, a Lot 😭 I've never read the book either (sue me), so most of the plot was new to me. And it kind of made me angry how easily so many of the problems could have been solved with some honest communication 💀 But, despite my frustration, I did enjoy the movie. The acting was very good, and I loved the cinematography 😌

Batman Begins -- Okay. Until I watched The Batman, I was never super into Batman as a character. So, when I watched this movie, I was a little surprised by how much I liked him in it 😩 I mean, I wasn't that surprised, because NOW I do like Batman as a character, and I also like Christian Bale, but I was still A Bit surprised. Because I wasn't expecting him to be SO babygirl 😭💖 So, consider this my formal apology to Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne for ignoring him for so long. He deserved better 😩 Anyway, even besides Bruce's babygirlness, I did mostly enjoy the rest of the movie. I just wasn't really into the whole League of Shadows plot. I'm not a big fan of secret society plots :// I would have preferred if they'd made Scarecrow the main villain instead 😩 But that's just me. Anyway, I'm also going to be watching The Dark Knight tomorrow, and The Dark Knight Rises next week, so I'm excited to see those as well 👀
