I think a lot of people like Omar on a very superficial way. Like he's gorgeous to look at so I'm gonna post his face a lot. He dances great so I'm gonna post him dancing a lot. He maybe had some good songs so maybe I'm gonna listen to them. But they don't care about him as a person. That's why they are so easy to drop him at the slightest wave. That's why they judge him so harshly at everything. They don't connect to him because they don't care to see him more then an eyecandy guy
I've noticed that first time when he did the podcast in september 2021. That was eyeopening for me. Both to him as a person, since I rarely saw a celebrity so raw and honest, and as a fandom. Since it was ignored. He talked about such heavy topics and nothing. It took months for someone to even translate it in english. And the views to it said everything.
Same as his sommarprat this year. Ignored just as much, probably even more then the previous podcast. Despite the cheerful voice he had and the fun storytelling, to me it was pretty sad underneath. He was very vulnerable but presented everything in such a way that it was remarkable. The guy has lived experiences way beyong his years. His life is a rollercoaster
His interviews are always forgotten very quickly unless he's talking about Edvin. Or about something that can be picked apart and criticized for. And when they are together, the comments say how much well spoken and well educated and mature E is. How good his English is. We all read what they don't say aka unlike the other one... . Do you know how many people made fun of O because he doesn't have an education, with digs of his intelligence and that he's an highschool dropout. I can't tell you how many comments I've seen like that in the last week. But not only that, they always question his intelligence and what he has to say.
So this is where the dissonance is. They see omar in gifs and music videos looking all pretty, but they stop there. Because to them he is just pretty and talended. Not human.
thank you for explaining it to me. frankly, i don't see the difference between the way edvin and omar are treated (maybe because i am not on that side of the internet? lol) but this was eye-opening.
i do think that it's difficult to connect to celebrities (not just omar) because it's a very one-sided connection.
they (occassionally) tell us their stories but we never get to tell them ours. when they do tell us their stories, they only tell us momentous life events like the hardships they go through or the accomplishments they've achieved, but not what they do on a day to day basis. the lack of relatability to the celebrity (the day to day stuff) presents them as both strangers and heroes to us at the same time.
you can't blame people for just seeing omar as a pretty guy because his job is pretty much to look good in front of a camera and to have a nice voice. the extra stuff he does (if not for promotion for his career) is only for those who really wants to get to know him further.
and you also can't blame them for not listening to omar's podcasts, especially if there aren't any subtitles. the language barrier is tough to navigate. however, i guess it does show the biases those that do understand the language hold.
it's not fair that people make fun of omar for not having an education when the man can literally speak THREE languages fluently. i don't think many people can do it as easily as he can. yeah, he mixes up words sometimes and comes up blank, but anyone would be the same if their brain had to process in a different language than what the conversation is being held in.
it sucks that he's constantly compared to edvin in everything he does but at the same time, that's just what happens when the show you acted in becomes big i guess. i can't help what people outside the fandom say, but as fans, we shouldn't be comparing them all the time (or at all in fact)

Sad post by Ukrainian ice dancer Alexandra Nazarova
This is why it's good Russia is banned. Very sad to see skaters supporting the war.
I may understand not everyone will speak against the war because they face repercussions if they do, but we can still expect them to at least not actively support the war. Not everyone is a hero, but support is another level

Pokemon SwSh: Leon are you okay?
The screen shot I’m about to show are from the Ballonlea Gym after you clear the trial but before facing Opal...
Tumblr media
[Image Description: Screenshot of Opal’s note on Leon from the Pokemon Sword and Shield. It reads: “Leon: Fail. Number of correct answers: 1. Your talent in Pokemon battles is beyong anything I’ve ever seen, but you’re rather hard to read...]
So...this throws into question a lot of his behavior exhibited throughout the game. Is he really as happy as he seems to be? If it’s one thing Opal is shown to be in these games, it’s a being very good at reading people. And yet she can’t read Leon (who would have been TEN when he challenged her). For him to be that hard to read it’s very likely he went through something early on to cause him to learn how to hide his true feelings.
And then you get his rare league card after beating (or in my case, just narrowly avoiding an ass-whooping) him in the Battle Tower. And then you get this nice little statement
Tumblr media
[Image Description: Screenshot of the back of Leon’s Rare League Card. It reads: “Leon’s dream, even when he was still the Champion, was to make Galarian Trainers the strongest Trainers in the world. In order to fulfill that dream, he has rebuilt the Rose Tower into the Battle Tower. A facility dedicated to Pokemon battles. People say that he seems even more lively now than he was as chamion. Leon has also commented that another reason he likes the tower so much is because it’s impossible to get lost inside. Leon’s biggest problem now is apparently comping up with a new signature catchphrase to replace ‘Let’s have a champion time!’ “]
Yeah, so Mr. “Let’s have a champion time!” is livelier now that he’s no longer champion...hmm. That just sounds alarm bells in my mind that things aren’t as peachy keen as they seem with our favorite lively champion.
I mean raising his own little brother while he himself was a child is not an easy task. He likely would have learned to minimize the amount of negative emotions he showed so as to not worry Hop. He had to be a hero for his little brother. And we still don’t know what happened to his father so depending on the circumstances that could definitely have an impact. Regardless of why his father is absent, him having to put on a brave face for Hop (and to a lesser extent his mom, his Pokemon and his fans) would mean he wouldn’t get a lot of time to properly work through whatever he was feeling. Then of course he has to deal with Rose (the first person to sponsor him). While the jury is out on how good/evil Rose is, it’s safe to say he’s at the very least manipulative (BEDE, anyone) and willing to put the blame on somone else (like how he did Leon when he interrupted the final match). While we don’t get to see much of their relationship past the whole Rose Tower argument, I’d imagine there were probably multiple past confrontations between the two men, especially as Leon became a young adult and the whole “testing the boundaries” thing that teens/young adults do would have been in full swing.
And beyond ALL of that, there is the champion crown itself. While’s it clear that he loves a good battle, there are other duties to being champion. Mainly being a protector. Imagine being asked to check out dangerous things (because you’re the strongest person in the region), things that may terrify you, but you can’t show that fear lest you have people doubt you. That’s a lot. So...tl;dr- Leon’s been through it. He needs a hug.

I found an anti-Dany argument on Twitter that I wanted to refute. Not because I think there’s anything new in the arguments, many of the things said are things I’ve already refuted a million times, but just because I wanted to shed light on the kind of arguments that antis use, as well as point out flaws in the arguments used by Dany fans to defend Dany. So here we go:
Tumblr media
So basically this anti started saying that Dany fans will be disappointed with the end of the books because we refuse to see her “tyrannical streak”. And when someone came to say that they don’t see any foreshadowing of said tyrannical streak, they answer in a condescending way by saying that the person needs to reread the books. This is a common behavior of Dany antis, telling everyone that they understand the books better, that anyone who disagrees with them are incapable of understanding the books or don’t have the knowledge that they have. What I think is particularly funny with this anti is that they are about to say a ton on things about the books that actually didn’t happen in the books without even realizing.
Anyway, so the person defending Dany correctly says that no ruler in ASOIAF is democratic and all rulers use punishments that in our modern world would be considered terrible. And this anti answers that they don’t want to hear “excuses” for Dany’s “behavior”. I mean, the anti is completely avoiding have to deal with the argument. What the person pointed out isn’t even an “excuse”: it’s a fact about a medieval world. The person is correctly pointing out that rulers in ASOIAF have medieval values and Dany is no different from them, pointing out that calling Dany a tyrant for this is a double standard, but instead of acknowledging that this is a double standard, the person calls it “excuses”. As always, Dany antis will try to use emotional language, like saying that arguments defending Dany are “excuses”, instead of actually trying to engage and acknowledge the argument.
But then we start the absolute shitfest of incorrect arguments. First, the person talks about Dany’s “behavior”. And I ask, what “behavior”? Again, the Dany defender asked what were the supposed “streaks of tyranny” that the anti saw in the books, and the anti just answers with a vague statement about Dany’s “behavior”, instead of actually providing proof of Dany’s supposed problematic behavior. These are the kind of people that tell others to “read the books”, and yet they can’t even remember the books enough to actually provide an argument beyong vague statements about a supposed “behavior”.
Then the person proceeds to say even more incorrect stuff about book!Dany: the anti talks about “fire and blood” being Dany’s platform, talk about "massacring civilians” (implying that Dany has massacred civilians in the books) and saying that Dany puts her “ambition” and “entitlement” above the lives of innocents. And I’m like, WTF? When has book!Dany done any of those things? The only people Dany ever attack were slave masters and soldiers, never civilians. And Dany is constantly putting aside her own desires to protect innocent lives. She spends the entirety of ADWD stagnant and trying to make peace all because she’s afraid of hurting innocents. This anti has clearly no knowledge of the books at all, and yet they’re telling others to “reread the books”.
Moving on:
Tumblr media
The Dany defender correctly points out that Dany doesn’t massacre civilians in the books. But instead of recognizing they were wrong and gave wrong information, this Dany anti deflects by changing their argument: now the problem is no longer that Dany “massacres civilians”, but that violence is always bad no matter what, and that GRRM is surely a complete pacifist and would agree with them. Well, the argument in itself is complete bullshit, because if violence is necessary to end another greater violence (like slavery), then it’s completely justified. And as a Dany fan pointed out above, it’s a hypocrtical argument and a double standard, because literally almost all characters are involved in war and violence. But what I wanted to point out is how completely uninformed the anti above is, and how despite being uninformed, they confidently talk about how they’re right and others are dumb. I mean, this person is completely wrong about GRRM. GRRM has stated in many interviews that he is not a complete pacifist, and that he believes war is sometimes necessary (here are two interviews, but there are more: x, x). Not only that, but he specifically said in one of his books that slavery has to end with “fire and blood” (x). This person is so absurdly uninformed, and yet tell say that they “feel confident” that GRRM shares this sentiment, and even insult the intelligence of the people who disagree with them (”Here’s where you get to say ‘OK, Boomer’ and cut me down to size with your wit”).
Then they proceed to say that Dany’s visions could be hallucinations. And that really tells you something about how this person doesn’t have a very deep knowledge of the books, because Dany’s visions, when you analyse the scenes in which they happen, are clearly not hallucinations, but magical visions (with the only exception being Dany’s last chapter where she is in terrible physical conditions and ate poisoned berries).
Tumblr media
Anti talked about how Dany is narcissistic and entitled. If you have any knowledge of the books, you would never say this, because there are dozens of moments that disprove it, and book!Dany is shown to be incredibly humble (see here). But anyway, the anti is incapable of providing any examples of Dany being a “toxic narcissistic”. The best they can come up with is saying that Dany feels excited when Drogo says he will kill, rape and enslave people. The Dany fan above tries to defend Dany, and it’s a good defense for show!Dany, but it’s an irrelevant defense for book!Dany, because this never happens in the books at all. The books don’t describe Dany’s reaction to Drogo’s speech:
"And to Rhaego son of Drogo, the stallion who will mount the world, to him I also pledge a gift. To him I will give this iron chair his mother's father sat in. I will give him Seven Kingdoms. I, Drogo, khal, will do this thing." His voice rose, and he lifted his fist to the sky. "I will take my khalasar west to where the world ends, and ride the wooden horses across the black salt water as no khal has done before. I will kill the men in the iron suits and tear down their stone houses. I will rape their women, take their children as slaves, and bring their broken gods back to Vaes Dothrak to bow down beneath the Mother of Mountains. This I vow, I, Drogo son of Bharbo. This I swear before the Mother of Mountains, as the stars look down in witness."
His khalasar left Vaes Dothrak two days later, striking south and west across the plains. Khal Drogo led them on his great red stallion, with Daenerys beside him on her silver. The wineseller hurried behind them, naked, on foot, chained at throat and wrists. His chains were fastened to the halter of Dany's silver. As she rode, he ran after her, barefoot and stumbling. No harm would come to him … so long as he kept up. - Daenerys VI AGOT
We don’t know what Dany thinks of Drogo’s speech. Nothing in the books say that she was “excited”. So this anti is yet again using things that never happened in the books as argument (the very person that started this conversation by smugly telling someone to reread the books).
Tumblr media
Anti, once again, shows that they are completely uninformed about Dany: Dany never thinks of herself as “special” (see meta above about Dany being humble), she never bought Viserys’s mentality. And then anti proceeds to say that home is not Dany’s most important motivation, even though Dany is constantly mentioning home in her chapters, and of all POV characters, the one in which the word “home” most appears is Dany’s POV (and the metas I just linked are just about the word “home”, there are even more mentions of “house with the red door” as well as other instances of Dany wanting a simply life and a family). They they mention “take what is mine with fire and blood”, which is a show-only line! And this is the idiot who just told Dany fans to “reread the books”.
Tumblr media
And then, of course, they end the argument with “Dany is entitled” while conveniently ignoring that all characters in this story believe in birthright and proceeding to apply double standards to Dany.
Anyway, I wrote this post mostly out of pettiness, but the fact that this person started this argument by telling others to “reread the books” really pissed me off. This is something that I constantly see in Dany haters: they are always incredibly smug and insult the intelligence of those who disagree, while also being completely misinformed about what actually happens in the books, and also misinformed about GRRM.
Finally, I also wanted to point out something that annoys me in Dany fans. Many times, when Dany antis make their accusations against Dany, instead of challenging those accusations by showing antis that they are factually incorrect, Dany fans will simply accept what a Dany anti is saying and try to defend Dany from there. As an example, when this anti says Dany is a “toxic narcissist”, the Dany fan agrees that there could be signs of these in other books, just not in book 1. And this isn’t true at all! Dany isn’t a narcissist in any books! She is not arrogant! But instead of denying the anti’s claims, Dany fans usually accept them, and try to defend Dany from that perspective. Another example is when this anti says that Dany was excited about Drogo’s speech. Instead of pointing out that this never happens in the books, the Dany fan tries to defend Dany. And while it’s a good defense for show!Dany, we shouldn’t even entertain such arguments, because it’s not something that happens in the books! In an argument, never assume that the information that a Dany anti is providing is true. Most usually, it isn’t true. You need to check first to see if they’re even saying the truth.
So to sum up, the smugness of the anti pissed me off, especially when they demonstrated how utterly misinformed they are. But I also think Dany fans should reread the books, because honestly, most arguments from Dany antis could be easily dismissed if Dany fans remembered that many things they accuse Dany of didn’t even happen in the books.

For the ship thing: OchaBaku
Bakugo went at her with his full power and Eraserdad defended him - anything less would be him actually disrespecting her. Ochaco is stronger than she thinks and he respected it. You don’t get that very often in any genre.
Another thing I liked is that she tried to win on her own. She’s not the smartest kid in the class, but she knows her abilities better than anyone else and came up with a better plan than Deku.
None of this is to say that I think Deku wouldn’t give it his all in a battle against her. But I’m not sure if we’ll get a fight like that because there is some uncomfort about a guy fighting his love insterest with everything he’s got.
But it’s explosive popularity, at least in the west, despite there not being much interaction speaks to the need it unexpectedly tapped into. Fans WANT the girls to get as dirty as the boys.
And Bakugo, of all people, acknowledging her strength was nice. I also really liked her acknowledging he’d feel ashamed if he needed to be saved. They’re kinda aware of each other beyong just being in the same class even if it hasn’t been tapped into.

Superhuman [ATEEZ Fanfiction] [Ch.5]
Summary: Having super strength didn't help at getting a job which was why your parents considered you useless so, how on earth did you manage to land a job at KQ Entertainment?
----------------------------------------------
Previous Chapter || Next Chapter
"San? Can you please get off me?"
You were currently squashed against San who decided to cling onto your form as he slept. You only recieved a whine as his grip around your arm tightened and your body stiffened as he nuzzled his face against your neck.
"I don't want to wake up."
The door knocked at that moment and Mingi stepped in, only to gasp at the sight of you and San.
"W-What the heck?! SAN! What are you doing in [F/N]'s bed?! Hyung! HYUNG! Come here!" Mingi babbled on in a state of panic.
"What happened?!" Seonghwa ran into the room but his jaw dropped as he saw you both.
His face turned red as he noticed the intimate position you both were in but he cleared his throat and attempted to speak in an unwavering manner.
"C-Can you please explain why this has happened, [F/N]?"
You looked elsewhere in an awkward fashion but spoke up.
"San wanted to sleep with me."
"What?!"
"A-As in he couldn't sleep in his bed and wanted company."
The two boys shared a look and you huffed, knowing that you had to explain further.
"It was because of what happened yesterday."
That immediately resolved their question and they became quiet.
"Can you help remove San, please?" You quietly pleaded.
They came to your side and the attempt to pull San away from you was difficult but you managed, almost falling off the bed in the process.
"Thank you." You bowed lightly causing your messy hair to cover your face.
Seonghwa chuckled as you made an unpleasant sound while sorting out your hair but his eyes landed on your phone as it rang.
"Its our manager." He mentioned and Mingi grew worried but you sent him a reassuring smile that calmed him.
"Hello?" You picked up the phone and answered.
"[F/N]-ssi, I need you to come down to the office. I have some news."
"Okay. I'll be over in an hour." You ended the call and went over to your cupboard to grab your uniform.
"I'll be back soon. Hopefully."
You had explained to the two boys about your situation and they understood, waking up San and taking his sleepy form out the room so you could change.
------------------------------------------------
"[F/N] isn't going to be fired just because she broke down a door and almost choked a crazy fan." Hongjoong tried to calm the group but they were all a mess except for Yeosang who sat quietly with a worried expression.
His words brought silence upon them and Hongjoong realised what he said.
"Actually, she could."
The boys became a mess once more and Seonghwa pinched the bridge of his nose as he released a sigh.
"Everyone, calm down. We will phone Manager-nim in ten minutes and ask. Okay?"
His friends all chorused their reply in sync and he smiled before taking a seat.
"It's a bit odd though."
All eyes were on Yunho as he moved back to rest his back against the sofa.
"[F/N] broke the door with her fist first and she even managed to make a hole through it. She doesn't have a strong build so, where did she get the strength to do that?" He informed and Wooyoung shrugged it off with a careless wave.
"She must be a master at karate or taekwondo or something."
Yunho shook his head wanting to speak up once more but San beat him to it.
"What are you doing, checking out [F/N]'s body?"
Yunho blushed and ended up sputtering out nonsense as he attempted to retort while the rest laughed at his reaction.
"Shhh! Manager-nim is calling."
Seonghwa answered the telephone and spoke to their manager, the others anxious about your fate as their bodyguard but when his expression brightened while he gave a thumbs up, they all grew relieved.
"Let's celebrate!"
Wooyoung jumped up from his spot and grabbed the telephone from Seonghwa, calling a number they all knew.
-------------------------------------------
You walked your way back to the dorm, your hands in your pocked while your eyes were focused on the pavement.
"They've seen my power a few times so of course they were going to question it." You huffed, thinking back on the conversation you had with the manager.
You were planning on not telling anyone about your powers but you couldn't hold yourself back when it came to saving people so that plan was a fail.
"I'm a superhuman."
The manager blinked at your words before a chuckle left his lips.
"That's funny but I need a real answer."
You released a sigh and stood up, picking the long table also with one hand. The manager almost fell over his chair as he abruptly stood with a look of shock on his features.
"W-W-What in the..." He trailed off, too astonished to finished off his sentence.
You placed it back down gently and crossed your arms.
"Believe me now."
He slowly nodded as he took in your serious look and he sat back down, trying to process what just occurred.
As you approached the dorm, you heard a familiar group of boys making too much noise but it caused a smile.
"Hello?" You called, glancing around as you shut door.
"Welcome back!" Everyone popped out of their hiding spots once you walked into the living room and you blinked in surprise, taking in the huge amount of food that was placed on the table to the decorations that were mainly made out of paper.
Wooyoung led you to the sofa and you took a seat, watching as he sat next to you and beamed.
"What is all this?" You were beyong confused but Wooyoung chuckled and pointed to the banner behind you.
You looked back and read the words that were written on the tissue made banner.
'Congratulations for not being fired!'
You tried to hold it back but a laugh left your lips. The members were in a faze as they took in the rare side you showed them but soon, they all joined in.
"Okay, let's take a picture!"
The members took their places on the sofa while Seonghwa stood and held your phone up to take a picture.
"Smile!"
It took a moment to take the perfect picture but you were all able to relax soon after.
"I'm so hungry!" San whined as he grabbed a slice of pizza.
Everyone dug in except for you.
"What's wrong, [F/N]-noona?"
Jongho had brought you out of your faze and you shook your head before taking a piece of chicken.
Once you all ate, you cleaned up for the members who were insisting they help but you forced them to relax.
"Before you all go to sleep, I want to tell you something."
You took a seat once more and placed your hands in your lap. The boys glanced at each other in wonder but Yunho had a feeling he knew what you were going to talk about.
"I'm a superhuman."
It was silent and you squirmed under all their stares but Jongho decided to speak up.
"What are you talking about?"
You took a deep breath before spilling the entire story out, explaining parts that made sense.
"That's crazy! Right?" Mingi said but no one seemed to agree.
Jongho inched towards the table in front of him and rested his elbow on it.
"Arm wrestle me and I'll believe you."
You nodded, rolling your sleeve up and moving forward to grasp his hand. Seonghwa counted to three before telling you to start and you remained calm as Jongho used his strength to move your arm.
"I won't budge."
Your words hurt his pride and he used all the power he had to win but it made no effect. San grasped Jongho's hand and also pushed but it just wasnt working. One by one, the group attempted to help the makane.
"Should I end this now?"
"No! We will win!" Hongjoong exclaimed as he pushed.
You chuckled and soon used a small amount of your strength to push. The boys fell on top of each other as they lost their balance causing a majority of them to groan in pain.
"Do you believe me now?"
They all slowly got up as they gave the same answer.
"Yeah..."
[A/N: Woo! That was a long chapter. Well, to me it seems like it hehe. I just wanted to mention that I'm taking requests for blurbs so for those who didn't know and want to just send me an ask! :)]

It's arrogant either way to believe that anyone knows for sure what's in another person's head and heart. Maybe no actors ever gives a crap about shipping outside of what they can gain from it, maybe some care because they're caring, maybe for some it's a mixed bag. If an actor has shown constant sign of being a caring individual, it's not idiotic to think they care for the shippers beyong what those fans can give them financially. Being more cynical doesn't mean being more right.
I'm not claiming to know that, I am only saying when they are using something for profit. I do think it's dangerous to think any actor truly cares for their fans or shippers. To an extent maybe but at the end of the day they are strangers and actors are in a BUSINESS. It's not cynicism it is recognition of a primary motive.

Pavarotti, Messi y Can Yaman - English Version -
Tumblr media
Pavarotti, Messi and Can Yaman - English Version -By Belén Suárez – Argentina – Twitter: @belisuarez - This is a Traslation of the original post, if you have any doubt, please check the Spanish version (Click here) - I am looking foward to go on sailing on Sunday and anchor next to our Psychoalyst friends' boats. After lunch we have our ¨Talks in the Stern¨, Where I am delighted by listening and observing, even more than the landscape, this group of notable and admirable people, whose intelligence exceed the average. And one may expect that all problems´ solutions will be served on a tray, but on the contrary, they will ask you the neccesary questions to lead you (or guide you) to the expected answers. There I was, this weekend, ready to be part of this elite talk.
Tumblr media
They were talking about "the misunderstandings" and the conflicts that arise from them. Misinterpretations due to the lack of knowledge or plenty of bad intentions. And the opinions that hide unconscious motives behind the words that a person says, regardless of the damage they can generate and how much they affect the other. At the table, one of these geniuses asks me:-What would have happened to Lucciano Pavarotti's artistic career if instead of being an Italy native, he would have been from Turkey?  Perhaps, he would not have had a career, I responded immediately. -Why? Because the Turkish press would have "censored him¨.-But, we are talking about a tenor who had combined "voice and feeling" as nobody had done before, how do you asseverate this? Doctor, that appreciation can only be made by intelligent people like you. Let me tell you, since we are at a moment of hypothesis and imagination, what would have a Turkish journalist written when he saw the "Great Lucciano":"We sat in front of the luminous stage ready to appreciate this "tenor candidate" who promised to captivate us with his songs in Italian. We were very disappointed to watch a person with a high degree of morbid, diabetic and hypertensive obesity, who came walking slowly, due to his physical condition, with a suspicious white handkerchief in his hand. The fat man "inhale" the handkerchief between song to song, what substance would he have there? And when we could not be more horrified, the man invited a beautiful soprano to join him to the sound of “La Donna é Mobile”, of course, that low voice needed to be complemented with a high pitched voice, otherwise it would be beyong all bearing to hear it for more than ten minutes. What a shame! He took her hand, greeted her with two kisses and at the end of the song, gave her a hug! How did he dare to comit that act in front of all those who had paid to watch it? Who did he think he was? What an image! What level of omnipotence did he have to dare so much? What example is for those young people who long to become successful singers? Being divorced does not enable him to "pull" that way to a woman in public. We had in front of our eyes an unhealthy image of everything that was not right.
Tumblr media
- Was this comment made by a Turkish journalist or a Medical coroner? It looks like an autopsy! (laughs)-And what would they have said about the interpretation of ¨Mamma, O sole Mío and La Traviatta? They would have said that he sang like other, nothing from another world, they would not have written much about it.-And for that news, do you think Pavarotti have had retired from the stage? It would have been a great loss!-Abandon or not? He should not have.-By the time being, we keep the "not", you will see why ...- The attitude that you describe does not seem to be exclusive to the Turkish press, this reminds us of Argentinian journalists when they talk about Lionel Messi. Why do you think that in their own country they speak so badly about him? Excuse me Doctor, but here I dare to ask you with all due respect to change the question. Do you know why? Because the qualifying adjectives would not be enough for me to talk about Messi's level, the boy surpasses the concept of excellence.
Tumblr media
-OK, let's go deeper then. Keep in mind that for us the important thing is not only what is being said, but what leads a person to say what he says? What feeling do you think these destructive criticisms do hide? I think that journalists who criticize Messi derogatively, perhaps may have dreamed of being successful soccer players, having a leading role in that sport, being recognized internationally and earning a lot of money. But they have not had the talent, perseverance, sacrifice, dedication and condition to achieve it, they had to be satisfied with having a place "outside the court." And today sitting at a desk, they dare to tell the number one (Nº 1) how to kick the ball. These "experts" do not measure the damage they do. He has great opportunities abroad, however, he puts on the light blue and white t-shirt to represent us, it is this country that treats him like an useless and invites him to leave football for ever. The Argentinian press, makes Messi cry. The Argentinian press makes Messi's son believe that his father is a bad football player. -So, following that line of thought, envy, rivalry, greed, jealousy and even the cruelty of external factors, could decide and take over the future of your beloved Can Yaman? Do not! Please! But it seems that you have to be a professional "mediocre" so that they do not persecute you and attack you in this way. There is a great cruelty! Can Yaman is not only an artist, the guy has an university career, he manages languages, he has world, he doesn't avoid his fans, on the contrary, he expresses gratitude to them as well as to his coworkers.
Tumblr media
-Can they or can't? They shouldn't be able to.-The press knows all about his studies and skills? Yes, they do.Oops, the boy is in trouble! (laughs) You know that envy has a light dream, right? Some time ago, making reference to the magic that he transmitted with his co-star in the last novel, he declared that they had had the "very high libido". With this, they "killed" him. -Why? Well Dr., you know ...-Of course we know, but do they know? They rushed exclusively with the sexual and the boy was condemned!-Haven´t they studied the concept of libido as a whole before writing? No, I think they have only read the first three pages of Freud's work and shot the press releases ... and they wanted to impose a sentence!-We navigate in the scientific field, not in the artistic one. But seeing that they have referred to a concept in a tedious and incomplete way, and that this awakens in you a feeling of injustice, we will briefly explain what it is:The term libido comes from Latin and means "desire".Sorry, but I desire a coffee, does anyone want to? Continue please.According to Sigmud Freud's studies, libido can be described as the energy that comes from drives, whose original objective is sexual. However, when this impulse is used to carry out other types of works, such as artistic or scientific ones, to this change of object of the impulse, he called SUBLIMATION. The concept was taken in part by Goethe and Nietzchen, who mention sublimation as the elevation in the artistic sense of things to their essence, and on the other hand, chemical sublimation within the concept of alchemy, which passes from the solid to the state "spiritual".Then, with the concept of SUBLIMATION, we interpret that libido does not refer exclusively to the sexual, it will depend on the objective in which one will channel the energy. For Freud, libido is an expression taken from the theory of "affectivity." It is an energy considered as a quantitative magnitude of the drives that are related to everything that can be designated with the word "LOVE". He said that human beings are governed by drives (often opposed) that push us to behave in a certain way. That energy is known precisely as libido-We would not reach the weekend to talk about it and what different authors such as Carl Jung, Weizsaecker, Melanie Klein, Groddeck, etc., wrote about it. -We don´t know Can Yaman, nor did we see his novels, but for what you tell us, we could say that the term was correctly used. But we wondered if the audience it was addressed to was able to give it a correct interpretation. But believe us, dear Belén, that this is not the important thing.-How not? If by this concept they wanted to crucify him! -No. They have not wanted to crucify him for this concept, you are wrong. In any case, we might think that they wanted to hurt him, because people with little knowledge, wrote about a concept that did not take the time to investigate and with little information have addressed the subject in a way that matches the intention to cause damage to the artist. And they took advantage of his words to defame him, knowing the conservative society would adopt his sayings as valid. It is easier for a society to reject the unknown than to think about why it rejects it. -So, is it worth talking about the concept of libido then? No. Today is this word, tomorrow will be another, or a gesture or whatever. This will happen to him or another artist. -So, taking into account that there will always be criticism, harassment and unfounded opinions, I ask you the question before, could the press decide and take over the future of Can Yaman? Definitely not. -Well, now you understand. But what kind of strength must be had to endure this permanent harassment while navigating through life? -"No calm sea made an expert sailor" (laughs) -It is time to return the way back, it is already getting dark. We leave you this restlessness and you know what we will talk about next time. Read the full article

Two thoughts on GoT finale
K. said that they must have some secret plan accounting to why they would fuck the whole thing up. Resulting in them later remaking the series or just some part of it. Which sounds of course absurd, but I fully understand the attempt to find some logic in the biggest franchise undermining and burying themselves in the ground.
For now, I just believe this whole shebang is just a result of bad choices in the writing team, not talking only about D&D. On the project of this scale I don’t think it’d possible to just blame it only on them and say that the rushing of the final season and mistakes of the ones before that happened only because of them. Surely there are a lot of supervisors, experts in their fields, who would’ve seen and offered their insight into where the show was going wrong. But we still received what we did in the end, and that might’ve been because D&D didn’t want to listen to anyone else. On the commentary to this season it’s clearly seen that they’re lost in the area they’re supposed to be experts at, and don’t even know characters’ motivations or don’t remember their past actions. So maybe the logical scenario would be the producers seeing D&D as the right authority and delegating all responsibilities about where the story goes to them, and D&D in turn being complete morons and idiots? I’ve read that they are the current writers on Star Wars latest episodes, the ones made after J.J. Abrams, and it is a clear example of their level of work, with a poor writing, but it’s not even as bad as GoT’ finale, so again, I’m not even sure what happened here.
Anyway, what I wanted to say was that general consensus seems to be that GoT began to be a disappointment around Season 5, and I didn’t feel like that then. Sure, there were some logical flaws, but the general story and character arcs were mostly on point, and what I feel like now was the most important thing, looking back, is that the characters spoke to us. General ability to induce such levels of empathy is not so often present on the current television. GoT mostly is known for its twists in characters’ moral behavior and the dichotomy of good and bad in everyone, and making viewers care even for the ones who were ‘bad guys’ in the beginning.
But even if it’s not about the bad guys, we still always emphasize with almost every character there. For example, Jon has the biggest character shield of all time and is just not able to die at all (very realistic), and looking back I feel like the moment when he died and was resurrected felt like it taken from another show, not really GoT stile at all. Still, when he was fighting the walkers beyond the Wall, or fighting in the Battle of the Bastards, it was still so real and I was just afraid for his life every second of what was happening on screen. Not relating to him or his decisions in particular I have to admit now, he was important part of the show for me and I always was rooting for him. So before continuing on my first point I wanted to mention that what was shitty about the finale, was that it felt like everything he went through was for nothing. The bittersweet ending a lot of creators are aiming for _is_not_like_that. It’s supposed to be character going through something that changes them, bringing something for the greater good of everyone, sacrificing something of his or what is dear to him. But what we’ve seen in the end is that the Night King wasn’t killed by Jon, but by Arya. Even though he killed Dany and rescued the world from her, so to speak, we are not presented with enough evidence of how life would be good without her being the Queen. I’m talking about the scene with lords and ladies and then the meeting of the advisors with Tyrion is the only glimpse we get at the life ‘after’, and it doesn’t feel like it reflects anything, it feels like it’s rushed like the season itself again, and is just done for the sake of showing at least something.
I don’t know, I clearly need to think more about Jon’s arc and everything he went through. But it’s clear to me that what we’ve seen in the finale is that he was robbed (probably like every other character) of a logical finale. Seeing him in his older look is just another visualization of the fact that everything he did was for nothing, that he’s back at the start. Even though Kit’s acting is not my favorite, I liked how he looked when they rode beyong the Wall, this sad and wise look of a man who has seen a lot of horror and pain. And the only thing I liked is that they would be together with Tormund now, and their bond is particular reflection of Jon’s northern nature and what he’s been through and now they will have some peace and quiet in the end living in the land completely speaking to who they are.
But I feel like if we’re talking about what was holding the series together since Season 5, then it’s more than that. Listening to all the actors it’s clearly seen that it was a predominant part of their lives, and seeing how good of actors they are, it’s no surprise that we as an audience are left completely heartbroken over everything happening on screen. I was completely immersed in what was happening, sometimes feeling like I was there myself, and always feeling the unimaginable levels of empathy towards the characters and what was happening with them. I remember that every time new season came around and with every episode I was watching, I was crying every single time, because of the thoughtful conversations and interactions between characters, or these large epic battles where it seemed all hope was lost.
And I usually judge movies and series pretty harshly. So what happened there in the previous seasons was probably the beginning of poor writing, but with the general development of characters still pretty much being on the good and solid level. The level where you are still left completely empathizing and relating to them, and you get such an emotional boost every time you watch an episode so you are left blind to any illogical flaws that might be there.
Maybe that’s what they were aiming at with the bad writing now, that people won’t see that and only focus on their favorite characters and on seeing where the final of the story leads them to. But the thing is, with this last season it was not possible at all to feel the same about everyone on the show, because it simply didn’t feel like them at all. It felt like we were watching a bad fanfic coming to life, or the show jumping to a parallel (and much worse) universe. Even though actors did a terrific job as always, they just can’t fix the terrible scenarios they were thrown in only by the pure power of acting.
The most shitty thing and what left us feeling like we were betrayed, is that these whole 9 years of character development were just ignored completely in order to tie all the loose ends and rush everyone to the finale like it’s a race. As the one who writes occasionally, the most important thing for me, probably, is being able to relate to the character and understand their actions and motivations, even when they are doing something not quite right, but still logical.
Well, what I can say now that this race is totally lost on their part. They didn’t gain anything, the rating of the episode is the lowest among all seasons, and they are left only with fans’ anguish over the whole thing.

Friyay 19/10/2018
Today is a great day. Today is an amazing day. I have been looking forward to today for weeks. Today is the day that I get to see one of my favorite bands!! [party-emoji-series]
Years & Years, a British band who makes electronic dance music, is coming to Canton Hall. I have no one to go with but I don’t care, I’m too excited to see the band. They are coming to Belgium next year and was really sad that I will miss it since I’ll still be here in America. Luckiky a friend of mine noticed they were coming to Dallas, so I asked my host family if I could go and they bought my ticket. (I couldn’t buy the ticket when I was still in Europe.)
An Uber takes me to the venue and I arrive 15 minutes before the show starts. I’m beyong excited! Canton Hall is as big as De Casino in my home town.
Tumblr media
Which is very small!! OMG! In Belgium, Years & Years plays in the Lotto Arena which has a capacity of 8.050 people! Canton Hall can only host up to 1.100 people at concerts. So this is like a private concert. How cool is that?! I will be able to see my favorite band from so close, almost touch them, smell their sweat, feel the wind as they dance over the stage. [star-eyed-emoji]
I was even more excited now! Especially since the room is not even filled entirely with fans! So no pushing or being too close to strangers, ideal situation. But then, it appeared they had 2 guest performers. So by the time it was 10pm, my feet and my back were hurting from standing up for so long. I was a little bit disappointed. The longer the guest performers were on stage, the less time Years & Years would perform after them, right? Next to that, I was alone and bored and too shy to start a conversation with anyone.
Finally, Years & Years entered the stage... And I forgot everything. They were amazing. They played their awesome new songs as well as their golden oldies. And I danced and sang my heart out. I was alone, but I didn’t care anymore. The music was so good. Their performance was so good. Everything was good. So I had the best 1,5 hours on my own, ever. It feels surprisingly good to not care and just dance and sing along. I am so happy I got here.
Tumblr media
After the show I bought myself a t-shirt. Normally I never buy any merchandise at a concert but this occasion is so special, I want something to remind me of it often. I was at a concert of my favorite band. They’re British and I’m from Belgium and I saw them in Dallas, USA. I am so lucky. I love my life.
