What do you think of the voice acting of miraculous ladybug

Overall really great! I follow almost all of the VAs on instagram to track them down to anime conventions and get their autographs lol.

Main character Bryce unfortunately has the "I only know two voices - Good Boy and Slightly Evil Boy" issue, which is fine in ML. It just means when he pops up ANYWHERE else I can clock him immediately as either "Adrien" or "Felix". But I've met him and he's pretty cool, at least in the brief moments we've talked.

There are a feeeeew background characters that stand out to me as Not Great, but if I was doing the characters they were stuck with, I probably wouldn't bring me A-Game either.

False, a knight famous for her ability to slay magical beings, was sent by her king to defeat the greatest threat of all - the fae. Here, she enters the faerie realm and is greeted by none other than the queen herself, waiting upon her forest throne.

Having grown up on tales of the fae and their evil trickery, False is surprised by how beautiful and kind the queen is, but isn’t going to let down her guard yet.

Queen Stress is rather impressed by this mortal who not only managed to find her way into the faerie realm, but is also brave (and foolish) enough to try and fight her! She has no intention of hurting False, and instead wants to teach her the mischievous ways of the fairies, get her to lighten up a bit and all that. And, well, if she tries to court the handsome knight along the way, who can blame her?

Been a couple of years, but I still think fondly of Grace Monroe from Infinity Train for achieving that very rare redemption arc narrative of "the people you hurt are allowed to sever all ties, and you can still become a better, happier person."

#grace monroe #grace infinity train #infinity train #in a sea of demands that you must always forgive the people who hurt you no matter what #it was nice to see a plot that gave good weight to feelings and motivations on both side of the equation #hm. #come to think of it #it seems a lot of redemption arcs usually go the route #of redemption through death #or very quick if not immediate acceptance into team the people you traumatized #much more rare to see a redemption arc #where the one on the journey to redemption has to accept that at least some people they've hurt can't or won't forgive them #but that this doesn't automatically mean they can't become a kinder person #hell in grace's case it was pretty shocking/refreshing to see that it was precisely because someone set a hard no-contact boundary with her #that she lost someone she loved but still hurt #which really forced her to reconsider what she was doing #it was a true 'oh no not the quencies' kind of story #but also a 'you will accept the quencies and go forward with your life & hard gained knowledge' narrative #redemption arcs
