The biggest thing that inspires me to play Tibarn's army's chapters is that I always put my OTP together in his army and I know they will obliterate together.

i've been dabbling with the hot new gacha reverse/1999 and its... okay so far. like everything is presented gorgeously and the battle system seems fun! but i can just tell this is NOT a game that's going last for me >_>

#so far my biggest take away is everything is so fucking tutorial heavy. RELEASE ME WENCH!!! shut up just let me figure it out #its genuinely extremely frustrating having the same things explained to me multiple times #and i know that's what the new gacha experience is nowadays. its whatever. it will literally stop being a problem shortly #but it is significantly impacting my experience because it sucks #but that aside. the reason the games not going to stick is the designs.#some of them (like the girl whos a stack of tvs) are really cool but...#the lower rarities have cool and innovative designs and the high rarities just kinda look like some fucking woman numbers 1 through 6 #(also... predictably... the lack of cute guys... theres a dog but no sexy fellows? wtf)#also also. i don't have time for this. this isn't really giving me sidegame energy and fgo is really busy atm #going to keep playing for a few weeks and drop it methinks. not even going to both setting up a tag that'd be pointless #post: chatter

Methinks Jason is probably (or wants to be) good with younger kids. What if his s/o has a kid sister they're the sole guardian of 🥺

Jason gives me heavy middle-child vibes, therefore I think he'd relate to that trope of the middle child eager to get the little ones attached to them, but the kids will also kinda terrorize him. He'll seem stand-offish when people ask him how he feels about little kids, but when he's with them, has big brother energy to the tenth power.

- he'll have kids clinging to him at all times. one kid dragging himself on his foot, another one hanging onto his strong arms, and the youngest on his shoulders pulling at his hair annoyingly. "damn it- will you stop, that hurts," he tries to say with a serious tone, only to end up laughing and smiling to himself.

-with his s/o's kid sibling, they'll have mild beef at first. (s/o's sibling will roll their eyes at him any chance they get to)

Sibling: "Mr. Jason, can I have a few dollars, the icecream trucks on the way"

and of course, he cant say no or you'll be angry at him. with a sigh of defeat he pulls out his wallet.

Jason : "here's a ten, but bring me back the change"

the kid grins widely and thanks him...

1) THE PASSION???? THE TENSION????? OH MY GODD. The way Crowley’s hands are FISTED in his jacket and are YANKING him into the kiss is actually killing me. Like I Cannot. I-

2) The parallel of this scene to the Wall Scene™ is literally killing me

3) I wonder if this is their first kiss because like,, I’ve seen people saying that they thought their first kiss would be tender and like... as someone who has PINED before (granted nowhere near their level) I disagree. Obviously these guys are sooo repressed and dumb (lovingly) and I think the way that it would happen would be in a moment of passion as this seems to be. They wouldn’t have the courage otherwise I don’t think. I NEED to know the context NOW though I cannot wait until July 28th.

4) Also people keep hypothesizing about the possible context for this and saying it could be a dream or a body-swap thing or not actually real etc. and I simply,,, Refuse to believe that. Like. No <3. The only one I can kinda see is it being a “Aziraphale-being-dumb-and-self-sacrificing-so-Crowley’s-making-a-point” kiss,, because I love me some of that. But I cannot think about it not being “real” because my dumbass simply couldn’t handle that. So I’m just not thinking of it as a possibility because I’d die methinks.

In summary I have so many thoughts and the release date cannot come soon enough.

(also I am def sad about it being leaked,, especially for Neil,, but I simply don’t know how I would have handled seeing this for the first time w/o prior warning)

Ais: Ogre. No duh.

Vere: Elf. In a DunMeshi'd Eridia the elves would probably be the ones running the Senobium, so it's more convenient for him to take the form of one.

Kuras: Ok listen to me. Gnome. At first I thought he could be an elf as well, but Lowtown would not be too fond of them since they're the crowd running the institution, but you wanna guess who's chill with nearly everyone? Gnomes (at least i don't remember any heavy prejudice against them). Also they have a "special bond" with nature and that fits Kuras fine methinks. He's a gnome.

Leander: Tallman. He's so human i couldn't possibly make him anything else.

Mhin: This feels like low-hanging fruit but elf mixed with half-foot—LISTEN. I did not want to go there but since they're a bird... Them being light would make sense... Would also be convenient when doing their assassin job sneaking around. I think they could make an agile half-foot, ok... Also the elf half is mostly because I felt it fit them. They kinda look like Mithrun. Also something about otherness.

LIST OF INCENSES I THINK AC 1 - AC UNITY CHARACTERS WOULD LIKE

credentials: (1) incense is a big thing in my country both for daily and religious uses; (2) i have a shit ton of incenses bc i use them regularly

ALTAÏR IBN LA'AHAD — his most familiar scent is frankincense bcs either umar or rashid lit up a lot of frankincense (haha old man incense). BUT his favorite scent is jasmine because it's sweet and calming it's like a soothing balm to his running thoughts and worries. also the scent of jasmine here has supernatural connotations, so i think it's fitting for altaïr as the master assassin herald of death etc etc

MALIK AL SAYF — oud. definitely oud. very charismatic and heavy. definitely suits him bcs as soon u enter his space u will think he's someone not to be trifled with. it also has a family/brotherly connotation to it which suits malik. if u want combination; oud + sandalwood

KADAR AL SAYF — champaca. it's sweet and bright. reminds u of a singing bird maybe? if u catch a whiff of it in the wind it feels like napping in a hazy afternoon.

MARIA THORPE — jasmine with tuberose. almost woody? floral. probably reminds you of moonlit night with silk curtains blowing in the wind

EZIO AUDITORE DA FIRENZE — sandalwood. a classic. with frankincense and myrhh. this scent reminds me of church (our churches usually light these scented incenses). it's heady and heavy. if you smell it too much it can overwhelm you.

LEONARDO DA VINCI — citrus and agarwood. very playful and has creative vibes to it. it also smells very unique and reminds me of a warm person

CONNOR KENWAY — majegau. this one is very specific. majegau is a type of tree sacred to people in bali region (i'm from java so i dont know much). but the scent is very mountainous. it reminds me slightly of sandalwood but much lighter, and gives off a more foresty vibes. it has a very respectful but down-to-earth air to it that suits connor's person

AVELINE DE GRANPRE — citrus and vanilla. i'll be honest i never had this one, but i'm trusting what people said. it's apparently very unique and refreshing scent when burnt. kind of woody surprisingly with just a hint of sweetness to it. i also think aveline would like clove incense. it's sweet and has something underneath that feels like it's ready to strike

ADÉWALÉ — also an oud enjoyer methinks. maaybe oud + frankincense. i think smelling the incense will help settle down his thoughts and pain, bcs it's a very meditative and heady scent. charismatic vibes

EDWARD KENWAY — tobacco, clove, and cinnamon. it's smoky and heady. kind of pirate vibes. it's a very overwhelming scent to some people bcs of the tobacco

HAYTHAM KENWAY — i feel like he has a very old man taste so i'm chucking lotus OR frankincense. i think he'd like both bcs they're the most "classic" incense scents. definitely charismatic tbh

SHAY CORMAC — tobacco. smoky. just a classic "smokes and mirrors". it's kinda sad? it's a very lonely scent i think

ARNO VICTOR DORIAN — vanilla with sandalwood. it's heady and sweet with woody undertone to it. it has a european vibes to it that i personally dont like to light (vanilla doesnt smell good in humid weather to me), but definitely suits arno. it's sensitive yet strong, kind of tragic

ÉLISE DE LA SERRE — rose. definitely rose. cloying, floral, and sweet. has mixed receptions; it's a classic scent but i personally dont like it. i think it suits élise for her complicated nature. flitting and impossible to mistake

The EarthSpark Expedition game came out, and since no one is really talking about it, I’ll toss around my two cents. Spoilers naturally.

So first things first, the game’s placement in the story. I think most of us were going to write it off as an adventure in a micro-continuity that didn’t fit with the show. Well that is thrown out the window. The game takes place after S1, with a small recap in the form of a charming RP game by the kids and Terrans.

The story feels like an epilogue, documenting the aftermath of what happened to Mandroid after his Doomsday Project went kaput. Well, he seemingly survived, though we don’t see him in person until the end of the game, and he’s giving the Doomsday Project another crack with the Energon Activator. This time he requires three relics to power the contraption, so naturally Bee is sent on a mission by Optimus to collect them, with Alex as Bee’s wingman.

The twist however is Mandroid has upgraded his mind control chips, having reprogrammed Skullcruncher, Skywarp, Nova Storm and Grimlock again, but also Optimus Prime, meaning Mandroid was playing 4D Chess to get Bee to essentially do his dirty work for him. It is kind of interesting Manny had to reprogram the jets since they willingly served him before, but then again after trying to obliterate (TERMINATE!) all Cybertronic life it makes sense the femjets wouldn’t want to anymore lol. Poor Grim can’t catch a break, but this time he seems to shrug off the experience, mostly calling it unpleasant. To my surprise, Skullcruncher can talk here. I wonder why he’s largely mute in the show (besides what I assume is budget).

Optimus being mind controlled is interesting. I know EarthSpark sorta dabbled previously, but it’s been fairly rare for Prime to be “charged with Evil” ala Attack of the Autobots. The Last Knight did it too, but well we all know how that went down financially. The point being after years of Prime being sort of rigid and untouchable, in what feels like heavy mandates from Hasbro, it’s refreshing to see some experimental stuff with Optimus again. EarthSpark’s strength with Optimus was returning to the well meaning, dorky sweater vest father figure from G1, and going farther with a AotAutobots/Dark Awakening vibe with Expedition is especially fun. Especially since it was a big defining moment for Bumblebee and Rodimus, so it’s fun to see it homaged here.

I also like the designs of the various henchbots Bee fights in the game. They appear to be generic Transformers, but I forget what their context was in game, but could we get toys of them, Hasbro.

As for Mandroid, when he finally appears in person, the truth is revealed. The Mandroid we’ve been following is an AI backup of his personality made before Doomsday MK1. The original officially died. His current body is a giant misshapen Arachnimech with tv screens bolted to its body to show off his original human face. Inevitably, Mandroid looses and finishing him off, Bumblebee blows a hole in his body with a MegaMan style charged shot. Hashtag says Mandroid likely can’t revive again as the ruins of GHOST HQ, now overgrown with plant life curiously and looking like ancient ruins in a shot amount of time, has really cruddy Wi-Fi, so the AI couldn’t escape into another body. Bee nevertheless seems determined in case Manny DOES return, implying we COULD see him again in S2 in some capacity. That being said, the vibe I get also feels like Bertram from Family Guy. How he died in show following a botched attempt at killing Stewie via time manipulation, only to return in a Family Guy video game as the main villain picking up where he left off, only to die again with a nonchalant joke about how we’ll never see Bertram again after this. So 50/50 at Mandroid’s return methinks. For all we know, as of typing, the villains of S2 are COBRA as part of Energon Universe synergy.

Still the story was fun. Definitely very Furman, and kinda nostalgic as a result. The Terrans are all perfectly in character of course. The only thing kinda holding it back is the voice acting, as none of the actors from the show are reprising their roles. Though the actor who played Bee in Netflix WFC reprised the role here, and he’s definitely one of the better actors, when otherwise the acting is a little… subpar. Way better than WFC and Prime Wars, but having that amateurish feeling from Cyberverse… They give it their all though and they still feel like their characters so that’s good.

As said it feels like an epilogue, though while fun to see Mandroid back at it, it DOES feel a tad repetitive using the same Doomsday weapon but slightly different, and using mostly the same Transformers being “Robo-Smashed”. I feel like you could’ve gotten some cool gameplay using Shockwave, Soundwave (& the Cassettes), Bombshell, Starscream and Hardtop. Personally I’d have liked including some new Transformers, like how the TFP game was built around the Decepticons rebuilding the Unicronian Thunderwing, with him as the final boss. Something like that maybe, only Mandroid has unearthed a Combiner, a friend recommended the Masterforce versions of the Seacons, with the final boss being a Mandroid controlled King Poseidon. Ah well maybe for the sequel then.

concept thing for the valiance! they're a big huge slugcat who lives in the monarch's colony. they care for the slugpups while the parents are out hunting n stuff, and will go out and look for any lost slugpups or stray slugcats and bring them home <3 some info bout them will be under the read-more.

[id: a couple of digital drawings of the valiance, a rain world slugcat oc. the valiance is golden colored with a lighter underside, orange-and-brown limbs. their face is half orange and half gold, and their ears have brown tips. they have a spiky, armored, orange-and-brown back and a spiky mace tail. scars cross their body, their armored back is all scuffed, and their ears are torn. they have dark green eyes.

the left drawing is of the valiance sitting slightly hunched over, looking at the viewer. the right drawing is of them flat on their belly on the floor, their head resting on their arms, sleeping. the background is olive green. the text reads, "the Valiance". end id]

their topside is heavily armored, and as such they're too heavy for regular predators to pick up (besides red variants). they can hunker down and defend, but sly predators can try to flip them over to get at their softer underside. they can do heavy damage by swinging their tail, esp while hunkering.

they're kinda slow (like monk/survivor speed) and while they can't roll/slide very far it's still very damaging to whatever might just happen to be in their path.

they'd have a lot of hunger pips and not a lot stored methinks, but they can eat fruit/batflies/etc for full pips as well as meat

valiance can carry many slugpups on their back at once!! they can shield them from attacks, and the slugpups can still throw rocks and spears if theyre being shielded. valiance can also rip smaller pieces from dead creatures for the slugpups to eat :]

Selbyen

+ great design

+ lots of flanks, feels like every class and every playstyle can have their moments here

+++ fat fuck

- mini sentries are a crime, but tbh that's a pd gamemode boone overall

- how the hell do you pronounce it? sel-bien? sel-buy-en? prolly the latter but still

Phoenix

+ nice-looking, gives me overwatch vibes (maybe a bit too saturated?)

+ overall not too chokey i think

+ last is so cool

- first point is kinda meh imo but i mean it could be worse. looks like one of those redesigned tf1 maps with tall claustrophobic mesa walls

Venice

+ love love LOVE LOVE the design. instant fav, best map looks-wise

+- if this map was a woman she'd be such a bitch. insufferable but i wanna fuck her so bad

- sniper hell. what the FUCK are these sightlines

- halls are way too narrow or way too wide. also that doorway on approach to third... dozens of blu lives were lost to a single heavy+medic combo just sitting in there

- i swear this is an overwatch map. no i have never played overwatch.

3/10 at most

Shark Bay

+++ there are sharks on this map

+ really well balanced and fun to play, i even had to go for 2 games

+ very high octane gameplay

+- scout goes kinda schnasty but its ok, maybe it's just my bad luck

- could use more health packs i think

Rotunda

+ donut shape is always neat

+ looks cool too

- thought the entire map was rotating in the preview, turns out it's just the camera

- just kinda sucks man. nucleus did the donut shape better, at least you couldn't put sentries on the point there and have them fully protected. honestly out of 3 games not a single one was good

-Neil x Jason (they were a crackship someone else made and i didnt realise it was a crackship and then it cemented into my brain and now i litterally cant not ship em they need to fuck off screen tbh) (i'd ship jason x clive or jason x hump except clive is aroace in my hcs and hump is the allocishet fren so like) (btw i wrote like my only ship fic ever for at least a year abt them for holiday season its moments with you on ao3 and i think its still kinda near the top :3)

-Sophie x Estella (sophie is a wlw queen tbh and that needs recognised + estella just fits her yk) (also in mwy but not the main ship ofc only really appear twice but like most ppl only appear twice i had like 1k words a day shush)

Platonic onesss: slightly less bc most platonic ships r ppl that have already interacted and become friends but here r some duos i wish we could have seen tbh:

-clive n emi would be soo >>> like they'd just bully jason abt being clueless but like in a frenly way

-jason n noreth i think would get along well if noreth had time to make his experiments less controlly and like more appealing to jason i think (+ i just like noreth as a character)

-hump n noreth wouldnt exactly be a platonic ship i think them interacting would be funny tho

-stash and colin would bond over food i need to get back to writing fanfic so i can write the familiar talking chapter lmaoo unfortunatley: dnd i have a shitton to do as i overscoped massivley and would rather crash burn and die than decrease the scope

DOUBLE WARNING I don’t rule out that over the many years of being in dxs fandom, the main concept of game's lore in my head just didnt messed up with my own headcanons. it is alteady messed up. cuz. yk) me n my besties created the full story aND - [GUNSHOT]

yeah i know it is strange to say, that dx has more main characters that just. Adam, JC and Alex D, cuz. They are Literally The Main chars. But back to my seven.

As i said before i love them all equally, for different reasons. One thing abt dx as a game is that characters arent plain and they are multifaceted.(?)

Adam

I love Adam for his complicated story, personality, for his own struggles, motivations and how they are represented in game. These small environment storytelling pieces and music that creates the mood (wait redswa it isnt abt the environment). What im trying to say. Through the gameS - dxhr and dxmd - we can see how Adam is healing from his trauma, and how heavy it was. Also needet to be noted how he interacts w another characters. AND this tension between him and Frank but how at the end of the day (but lit at panchaea) Frank is still cares a lot abt Adam.

Also Adam is just like my bestie. Moral think for yourself. Yeah.

Pritchard

ONE thing i need to say abt frank is HESSS JUST LIKE MEE FRR, and now imagine some kind of cringe sigma phonk playing on the background. Yeah thats it. I relate to him so much but like. in more✨deep infj cringe way✨ Have you evere feel like Pritchard is gonna explode from nerves or even neurotism? Or like from blast of incomperhensible mess of feelings but he hides it? This is what im talking about. Heyy dont judge me i need to project some shit to my faves okay???? Damn how could you tell i have a lot of hc on dx? i have no idea!

I love Pritchard's informality. I mean. BRO WHY YOUR BIKE IS EVEN ON YOUR WORKPLACE???? AND THIS FINAL FANTASY POSTER???? AND THIS TV INSTALLATION??? honestly?understandable.

In Prague, Frank is still reminds Adam abt himself. Yeah i knoe it is for game purposes, but imo in lore perspective: Pritchard is gathered a lot of info for Adam (basically dxhr retelling), and this small detail: Adam keeps Pritchard's book. (i know you can find them anywhere in Prague, but still (methink eidos gaf later abt this texture and put it anywhere jus because lmao))

Megan and Malik.

Another notable thing that i like in dx series is that women in game arent sexualized. They arend "simple and f🤮ckable objescts" Megan is a scientist, on a verge of the greatest innovation. Yes. We dont know much abt her bc she is literally missing. Malik is a pilot. Damn i love her sm. Her chardesign. Strong and powerful charisma and nonconfotmity. Faridah's sidequest in Hengsha???? MY GIRLLLL GO AND GET AND BEAT SHIT OF THIS ASSHOLE. 👊👊👊👊

I remember how sad was i, when Malik was killed in dxhr and how happy was i to find out her little gift in Prague.

Overall kinda sad that there is not much screentime of them.

AND another notable thing. Megan and revolver. Revolver as an inspiration. OK I GOT IT

Eliza

Its 2028 and AI is already taken big steps in development. Questions of self-consciousness of an AI were asked in a lot of sci-fi creations. And deus is not not an exception. Love how Eliza obtains her own conscious during the game and how it leads to project Hyron at the end. I have a lot of thought abt p. Hyron overall. Another topic ngl.

And ofc her design is beyond all praise. Thank you designers for NOT making her oversexualized.

During dxmd Eliza is also questioning a lot of essential questions. I know she does. But cant remember what exactly it was. Need to replay tho

My bad, i still cant play through dx original, so i can only rely on his vibes. His vibes are good and silly. He has big meme potential cuz hes test-tubed. Not sorry tho

Vaclav

Love him for his light distinctive punkie nature, with big heart and ready to help whenever you need it. Vaclav tries his best so much. In library we can find cz-eng vocabulary with medical terms, when ig most of his patiens are czechs... says a lot

I would say that vaclav is silly but not stupid, not even naive. We can find him on Dvali's blacklist, but he is important for them. (but we also remember that otar just dont like him cuz vac knows radich's secret and otar is not (mb that the reason why vaclav is blacklisted))

well how to say it.. he's soul is good and lovely, he is not evil or dark. Idk cant find an eng analogue.

But in srb and ru we have доброћудан [dobrochudan] (literally good-lovely) or добродушный [dobrodushny] (good-souly)

I dunno, do they really need a nemesis? I never really got that about TFP. Like the Optimus and Megatron rivalry I get. They're leaders of opposing sides of a war. That makes sense. But everyone always having to have a specific sworn enemy? I'm not about that. Methinks the constructicons are kinda just there. They're heavy hitters with the incredible ability to combine; they could turn the tide of the war on earth very quickly if they go about it strategically
