He’s a washed up celebrity but EVERYBODY IS HORNY FOR HIM!! Incredible. He’s perfect.

The Sandman series is good? They managed to do it?

It's not a TUA situation or immortals?

For myself, and bearing in mind that I'm very easy to please: yes, I personally think they've done it!

It's a faithful adaptation, but it's not absolute. They've changed some things, not just because of the setting update but to adjust to the new medium of television and to set up story/character arcs that will span a whole season. Some small beats of the comic don't happen, some larger beats happen in a slightly different way, and the original story has even more more added to it, like Mervyn adding another wing to Dream's palace that settles itself nicely into the original architecture. It's not always perfect, and there are a few points that felt a bit off to me, but they never shook me out of my excitement and enjoyment.

Some characters have different motivations, but those motivations make sense and make the story (again to me) all the stronger. Preludes and Nocturnes was very much about Dream's journey to restore his kingdom, but while he's the main character of this show, it's made very clear to us that it's about so many more people than just him; the dreams, the nightmares and the humans playing with forces they might not understand. We get interactions, delicious conversations, mute appeals, violent clashes. So many lovely things the comics never showed us!

Everyone's performance was excellent, and these versions of the characters...arg, I can't wait for you all to see what they've done with Roderick Burgess, with Alex, with the Corinthian, with Ethel Cripps (Ethel in particular I loved), with Lucienne, with Cain and Abel, with John Dee, with the Three In One, and above all with Dream!

I had such an amazing, incredible time watching Episode 1 and 2. And then we got to see the sizzle reel of the rest of the season, and the audience was screaming!!! At the Q&A afterwards, Neil Gaiman said "Think of [the first two episodes] as the beginning of the roller coaster ride, to the top of the roller coaster. Now the ride begins. From here on, it’s just a wild ride to episode 10. And it doesn’t stop — it’s glorious, and these people and Tom [Sturridge], it’s magic."

I'm so exciting to plunge into the rest of the season, and see what other marvellous things everyone involved has dreamed up.

So i also play the Drafthouse Games, although i've been less active in them as of late. But heck it posting my charcater playlists because why the heck not: Eenie, Miney and Mo are PMD Expies. They're a Dodrio and a ranger and plan to be a guildmaster someday!

Lao Vis Blind is just a bird in a wheelchair who likes his plants. And causes more problems than solves.

Sol is Lao's companion, friend, and ward. A large plant horse with a sunflower for a head, they have No thoughts, head empty, good vibes hugs and sippin' on all the liquids are all they bring to the table.

Porridge has not been very active as of the time of this post although hopefully that changes soon, they're a lil Porygon-Z expy and try so so hard to be a useful lil bean.

Sanjeev Bhaskar as Cain was hotly anticipated and perfection. Nina Wadia as the Mother of the Three-In-One was wholly unexpected and most welcome. Meera Syal as Ric the Vic was likewise wholly unexpected and an utter delight. All three actors in the same show brought back fond memories of Goodness Gracious Me.

This was going to be my local fair's cover but.... Nope, didn't get picked, kinda broke my heart, I putted quite some work to this one!

I guess I can explain my art processes while I'm here...

So, the "Grow It" part, I went for a watercolor art-style like the 1980s incarnation of Strawberry Shortcake, but with cute anthropomorphic animals, with a little buck showing off his giant strawberry, this part was going to be the original cover idea I had but it didn't go so well.. But I guess, in a way I made it work.

The 2nd part, "Sew it" I went for an manga style, and I think this is really just how I NORMALLY draw but edited. I kept this part mostly black and white like most manga are except for the girl's jacket, which she made herself.

Last but not least is "Show it!" which I was inspired by the art style of Rob Duenas for this one, if you don't know who he is he's the guy who was one of the artists for Skylanders, Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4 It's About Time. For the pose I used Dreams (The PS4 game) to make my reference, and Modnation Racers to make a good idea for the background...

And I suck at backgrounds. And I didn't even bother shading the cow, chicken or the tractor.
