Inconsequential

Long conversations make me nervous,

especially people I've just met.

Ofcourse I put on my mask and play aloof,

I notice it makes others feel relaxed.

I smile and hope they enjoy my lip service,

my voice adjusted to a higher pitch set.

Any semblance of my individuality erased with little proof.

At the end of a conversation I'm left feeling emotionally overtaxed.

However, I would like to talk to you,

you shape words with such finesse and grace.

I'll admit at first your writings felt foreign to me,

but over time, it's allure and captivity, I've come understand.

A conversation will never happen between us two,

consider this a letter of apology for being too afraid to lessen our space.

Despite recent events, the common side of London did not seem to slow down. As per usual, the city was preparing for summer festivities, some shitty festivals with even shittier people. Pride more? More like an excuse for every Brit to puke their guts out on every possible corner. 

She’d join them in a few hours.

Arkady’s instructions had been clear, though it wasn’t as if she needed any encouragement. With Eva gone and the brother of Kosta missing, there was more than enough blood to be spilled. The only question was - did they prefer a knife or a gun? 

Needn’t worry, Ara was always equipped with both. 

Moving slowly along the streets, Ara looked out for a possible victim, an excuse for her to be a little extra violent, and an excuse to take another picture and send it to her boss. 

The rest of the Russians seemed fucking useless. Was this what Eva die for? A couple of incompetent homeless, good-for-nothing street rats? These were not the kind of people she admired. The scary reputation that they had in Launceston was absolutely just a weak bit of gossip. 

With a person in sight, Ara narrowed her eyes as she finally approached them, bumping her shoulder into them. “You really should watch where you’re going.”
