Instead, he was the One who Chose, and that made all the difference.

Traffic Life: Widows Alliance

some minor secret life spoilers below.

The Widows' Alliance name drop in the most recent session has me being extremely normal about everything.

I just love that alliance so much. It is, as far as I can think, the only alliance in the entire traffic series that has survived all five seasons now without a single betrayal and the only murder has been consensual.

Third Life was the setup, they didn't get to actively team together so much but they had their deal and their plans, Cleo just died before they had the chance to see them through, and Scott followed not long after.

Last Life, the infamous Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss teamup my beloveds. Cleo was a semi-latecomer to the trio but it was never in question and they both stuck with it through to the end.

Double Life, The Official Team, when they turned on Pearl and still stuck by each other, to the point that they axe crit each other to emphasize to their government assigned soulmates that they didn't need them, they had each other. (Pearl's powdered snow came after the axe crits i will scream about this until i am hoarse, she retaliated with lesser damage to an injustice and cruelty done towards her first.)

Limited Life, Scott took refuge with the Clockers multiple times when the entire rest of the server was hunting him and Cleo gave him shelter without question each and every time. I think he set his spawn in their base more often then he did in his own. He also gifted multiple of his lives to them, Cleo especially, and traded a couple more.

And now Secret Life. When they tried to avoid teaming up and yet...and yet.

Hi. A while back, I wrote something up in response to some conversations on this blog. It's on AO3 with the title "AO3 Comments and Why People Aren't Leaving More of Them" (Tumblr won't let me send a direct link), and it's been posted to Long Live Feedback under the #submission tag. I'm sending this ask message in the hopes that you'll see it and share some thoughts, either on Tumblr or on AO3.

This was a really interesting read and one I want to come back to again in the future. I won't go into detail here (so as to encourage those who are curious to go read for themselves and draw their own opinions from it), but I will likely comment on the work itself after I take some time and mull my thoughts a bit more first.

Dream: Because George hasn't got his visa yet, Sapnap's going to the UK. Sapnap: Fine. I'll go. [Dream Team laughs] Dream: So, unfortunately, Sapnap's getting the first George hug. [George Laughs] Sapnap: I'm getting the first George hug.

Dream: I feel like if George isn't here by, like—I wanna be like, 'Well, next month'. I feel like if George isn't here by September, my like, mental health will take a dive. Massively. And that sounds like, fucked, but it's one-hundred percent true.

Dream: You will see the fact that George, um—George's reaction to seeing me ... We said when he got his visa he could FaceTime me, so, stuck to the plan. Not saying anymore because you have to wait for the meetup video.

Dream: You sure you don't want to wait to see me in person? George: I'm ready. I've got my camera set up—I'm all ready to go! Dream: I guess I just, I wasn't expecting this. George: After years of waiting, I was finally going to America.

Currently feeling a bit feral over the fact that Natalia means Christmas Day - as in the birth of Jesus Christ and Bucks story is so heavily leaning into the birth death and resurrection of Christ - the saviour - as a central part of his narrative arc. Her presence is literally about the birth of buck - as in processing his grief about why he was born - as a saviour baby.

#Buck hasn’t processed that trauma that dates back to his birth #he was never allowed to grieve the brother he didn’t know he had #and then he was in a coma where he created this version of Daniel - a deep rooted trauma response in itself #but that’s brought the Daniel of it all closer to the surface of his concious #and he needs to process and grieve and allow himself to move on from that #and I think Natalia the death doula is a key part of this - because she is ideally situated to help him process that specific trauma #this isn’t so much about his own recent brush with death (although it’s part of it) it’s about going back to the beginning and processing #he needs to deal with the Daniel of it all before he can deal with everything else #in the same way we had Eddie going back to his own root trauma - with his father - and processing and dealing with things #via frank. this is just Buck taking a different path which will have a similar outcome #yes Buck May date her as he goes through this process but ultimately he’s attracted to her metaphysically - because she can help him #not because he’s actually attracted to her romantically #also the show has doesn’t too much time recently showing us the buddifer family - to ensure we can see where things are heading #before it continues to process their trauma #thinky thoughts #911 spoilers #911 on fox #911 fox #911onfox #evan buckley
