In the early 2000’s, pre high-speed, when I was still buying cds I felt it as time to get some current jazz & opted for some Jason Moran. A piano player he combines post-bop and avant-garde jazz, blues, classical music, stride piano, and hip hop. So I have, as stand alones: Black Stars (2001), Modernistic (2002) – solo piano,The Bandwagon (2003) – Live.
Each is good & each is different thanks to…
David Bowie and Trevor Jones - Labyrinth: From the Original Soundtrack of the Jim Henson Film (EMI America, 1986) - Design by Ted Coconis
Having seen this movie not too long ago, I wasn't really a fan of it. I always admired Jim Henson's ability to build entire worlds, but the script and story here was pretty weak. I also found Jennifer Connelly quite annoying here (at least there were better days ahead for her).
As for Bowie, he didn't disappoint...but damn man, as someone who loves your crazy costumes, what were you thinking here? Even your Duke phase was better than this.
i just think it's very cool and fascinating that trevor jones had already composed an absolutely perfect piece of reset music two years before felix barrett had even founded his theatre company
