Vargas Villa

Description:

My build entry for the #BnS151 challenge: “Summer Designer Showdown”.

 This 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom mission-style house provides plenty of room for the Vargases’ growing family.  

 Containing a pool and a play area, the enclosed yard at the rear of the house allows the family to fully enjoy the great outdoors.  

 On a side note, I’m pretty proud of this build as (1) this is the second mission-style house that I have ever finished building AND (2) I didn’t refer to any floor plans in building it. :)

  Challenge:

Use 170K to build a house for this family:

 “Ricardo and Zahra Vargas: He’s a secret agent and she’s a novelist. They need a comfortable office space or two since they both spend plenty of time at their computers. An avid reader, Zahra would love a home library. They have two children, with one on the way, so they’ll need a big yard with plenty of play options. The Vargases hate the color black. He prefers Mission style furniture, she likes a more playful, boho flare.”

Welcome to Vargas Villa, Ricardo and Zahra Vargas’ new mission-style family home!

This 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom mission-style house provides plenty of room for the Vargases’ growing family.  

  Let’s head inside to check it out!

  Back in the entry area, the archway on the left leads to the open-plan kitchen/dining area and the pantry. The door on the right leads to the first-floor half-bath, which we will head to next.

  There is a pool here to cool off in the summer heat.

  As well as a bucket and a kiddie pool for the little Vargases to join in the water fun.  

  Not to mention a play area with plenty of play options and child-friendly flooring.  

  Let’s head back into the house to escape the heat outside!

Hey lovely people! I’m ButternutSims, but you can call me Jess!

I’m 34 years old from Melbourne, Australia and I’ve been a Sims fan since the beginning. I came back to playing The Sims 4 last year when I needed something to pass the time. I wasn’t working and I was at home a lot because of my disability. I’ve always been into using mods in games that I play, and I knew TS4 custom content creators were on tumblr and while I was doing some CC shopping, I had this idea to start my own simblr and try and make custom content.

I love anything boho & hippy, I create a lot of things that reflect that style. I generally spend a lot of time on Pinterest pinning things that I would love to make, and it’s handy to look back at when I’m looking for inspiration for my next project. Because I don’t make my own meshes (i’ve tried, epic fail), I am always looking for awesome creations by those that do make meshes to recolour! There are so many amazing creators out there that make the perfect mesh for what I feel like creating.

Most of the clothes I make are patterned. I spend a lot of time looking for patterns and I have folders full of different kinds. It really depends on the clothing I’m making that decides what patterns I’ll use, but I would say that floral patterns dominate what I create.

Apart from making clothes, I also love making build & buy content, one of the objects I love making is cross-stitch wall hangings. I’ve always thought they are a cute addition to a home and I really like looking for the perfect designs.

I really love a good colour story, so I like to make palettes as well! My fave one at the moment is the Sundance Palette, which I made to recolour hairs. I like to have a variety of colours in-game, especially for hairs, so I spent hours looking over different colours to find the right ones for the palette.

When I’m not making custom content, I love building in-game as well. I have a tendency to lean towards using boho-inspired decor and designs, and I’ll most likely build in Oasis Springs for that desert feel. I tend to make homes for sims I have already created, I like feeling like I’m building for a certain personality.

I also like playing The Sims as well (when I have time). Usually, I have a story going on, but for some odd reason, I tend to get bored with the sim I’m playing with after a while and start a new one. I’m really bad at keeping a story going, and my stories are never really serious, it’s just a fun escape for me!

Another default replacement! This time I replaced afbodyethnicblousecapris with Memento’s 4t2 conversion of LeeLeeSims’ Boho Dress.

When creating this dress, I tried to pick three colors that resembled the original EAxis outfit, and I think they match pretty well. This default is for young adult and adult female sims only, is available as everyday wear, and has all morphs (the pregmorph can be seen on Olivia). Since the original EAxis outfit is from the H&M stuff pack, that is required for this default to work in-game.
