As much as he's a pain in the ass, Mike is a fascinating character to me.

Like. He's so well liked in the group, even when he says/does bad things he seems to get away relatively unscathed. This coupled with the fact his honesty trait is so low makes me believe he achieves this through lying/bending the truth to make himself seem better. He's seemingly the type to tell people exactly what they want to hear rather than what would actually be his honest opinion. And that makes people like him.

He also needs to be the hero/in control of any given situation. He takes charge a lot, (his dream job is literally being the US president) and the group generally listen to what he has to say. On the flip of this, he fears isolation. He hates being alone, because there's nobody to back him up, because as confident as he seems in his choices theres usually some kind of support, or at least something he can interpret as such. He's lost without others to agree with his decisions, and that makes him anxious.

He's got a pretty fragile ego. He hates it when pranks are played on him, he goes quiet immediately when Sam tells him to shut up when the stranger is talking, and stays quiet because nobody encourages him to rant more. He's only going to keep talking if the others actually feed into what he's saying and agree with him. Which is part of why he's so dishonest, because he cares more about whether the others will still like him rather than his actual opinions.

Idk I just think Mike is super intruguing when you actually think abt him and his actions and traits instead of just putting him in the 'hero character' box.

So, unpopular Quarry opinion.

I think Jacob is my second favorite of the boys after Dylan. Obviously Dylan being my favorite boy is a pretty popular opinion, but most other people’s second favorite is either Ryan or Max. And I love them too, but I honestly became really attached to Jacob in my playthrough and especially after a YouTube video I watched where he transformed into a werewolf (which he didn’t in my playthrough). And you know how Nick started being aggressive towards Abi when he was transforming? Jacob started being aggressive towards himself, calling himself stupid and saying that nobody loved him. And I started crying. I never thought I’d see myself in the jock straight white boy character, but here we are. Even in my playthrough where he didn’t transform, he started crying and showing remorse for breaking the car and wishing he could apologize to Emma, and I felt for him. And suddenly I felt so bad for originally comparing him to Mike from Until Dawn, because he’s nothing like Mike. And don't get me wrong, I loved Until Dawn and all of those characters, but I never really cried over any of them like this.

I just had to say this because I've seen some unwarranted hate thrown at Jacob and it kinda makes me sad. I truly never expected to connect with a character like Jacob, but I love the dorky little lovesick goofball❤️

Thinking of Steddie Soulmates where you feel every pain your soulmate feels.

Thinking of little Steve feeling every backhand and punch from Eddie’s dad.

Thinking of little Eddie feeling Steve break his arm and the pain being so much worse because his parents refuse to take him to the hospital until the school gets involved.

Thinking of Eddie finally moving in with Wayne and sure, the paternal beating are done, but now he’s just a small town Freak that’s constantly targeted.

Thinking of Eddie and Steve in their Sophomore/Freshman years respectively, not knowing who the other is outside of rumors and (unknowingly) their shared pain.

Thinking of Eddie finally escaping pain, the bullying turning to mainly verbal shit.

Only to be thrust right back into pain because his soulmates a walking hazard.

Thinking of Eddie having no idea what’s going on when he suddenly feels like one giant bruise after Steve’s beat up by Jonathan. Eddie watching Steve fall from grace in his Junior year and not connecting the dots.

Billy coming along and smashing a fucking plate over Steve’s head while Eddie’s peacefully sleeping. Eddie jolting awake with a shout because /holy fucking shit ow—/

Neither of them connecting the dots.

Then Steve graduates, and Eddie’s held back. And the pain subsides for a bit.

And then fuck all happens in Starcourt and Eddie literally feels like he’s dying and Jesus H. Christ is his soulmate /ok/??? Like they are getting seriously fucked up.

And then that recedes and it ok for a while— Eddie will still get killer pains that seem to circulate in his chest and head, but that’s to be expected with whatever tf his poor soulmate is going through year after year.

And then the fuckery of March 1986 happens and Chrissy Cunningham is dead in his trailer— his home— and he’s wanted for fucking murder and hiding in Rick’s dingy ass boat house—

And then he’s shoving none other than Steve Harrington up against a wall with a broken bottle helps to his throat. Eddie’s so piped on adrenaline he barely feels the sting in his back, but he does feel the zing of pressure on his throat and ok /ow—/

And he’s staring at Steve Harrington, who looks kinda terrified and so pretty and Eddie’s holding a bottle to his throat and is that Dustin?—

And—

And holy shit.

Eddie’s eyes widen at the same time as Steve’s and the realization hits them both at once.

Idk why, but I have this S5 headcanon of Byler having some emotional climax, maybe in the UD, and then waking up in this lush and verdant paradise.

Like a version of the UD that's green with gold light streaming in from above the trees, where all the demo-creatures are just big flowers and the bats are like, butterflies or something. Instead of a nuclear winter- blue wasteland with mutated creatures, it's a peaceful place full of non-irradiated vegetation.

(yes, this is partially because of Byler blue + yellow and together they are the key, but also I just think it'd be so nice to see them off in their own little world for a minute where everything is safe and beautiful)
