a/n: hello! so i haven’t written for the stranger things fandom though i’ve been in it for many a years, so this is a first! plus this is the first time writing in quite sometime, so it might be a little rusty. but i do hope you enjoy! 1.1k words

Pregnancy was, in theory- weird. Growing another human from your own body. Said human living inside your womb for nine months, completely moving each and every organ in your stomach to make room. The ‘morning’ sickness that was actually all day sickness that would be triggered by the most random things. Things you once enjoyed eating suddenly became the worst, and yet enjoying such an odd combination of food.  

But it would be worth it in the end, the endless mood swings, back pains, the kankles, the tossing and turning during the night struggling to find a comfortable way to sleep. The past nine months would seem like a piece of cake the moment you would be able to hold your baby in your arms.

But as of right now, the only thing that you could think about was the fact you couldn’t see your damn feet. Even as you were seated on your side of the bed, sneakers by your now sock clad feet- it was still a struggle to see them. Somehow, by some miracle you managed to put on your socks.

With a sigh you tilted your head to the side, watching the sunbeams as they entered through the slits of the blinds, creating little slivers of light against the carpeted floor. The sun had risen only a few hours ago, the summer sun creating overbearing heat that somehow felt even worse now that there was a human being created from your very body. The day ahead was gonna be a long one, shopping for baby furniture.

Just the thought of that made the fact of the matter even more real. In only three and a half more months your family of you and Steve would add a member. A teeny tiny member at that. Placing your hand on your bump you let your eyes look toward your sneakers. But soon your brain was fumbling over the fact that, how did you manage to put on your socks but not your shoes?

You had tried to put the shoes on while they were already tied, but that didn’t work. The ties were too tight and once you untied them to retie them, place them back on the ground and tried again- only for them once again to be too tight. And when you untied them and slipped them on, you couldn’t lift your leg high enough or lean down far enough to reach and tie said laces. And honestly you were too tired to try anymore ways. The pain in your lower back worsening each time you bent over, and over, and over. With a pout and a groan you rub your eyes with the palms of your hands, taking a break and trying to figure out how to put on your damn shoes, letting your hands fall back to your lap before once again- glaring at the black and white sneakers.

“Is there a reason you look like you are trying to shoot lasers out of your eyes at your shoes?” A voice rang out through the once quiet bedroom, with his hands on his hips- which was his usual stance, and towel slung over his shoulder was none other than your husband Steve. With a tilt of his head and leaning more on one side, causing his hip to jut out, he sends you a smile.

Replying with a huff you simply shrugged your shoulders. “If I glare at them enough, maybe they will magically levitate onto my feet.” You say simply, lip jutted out. Steve rolls his eyes with a quiet laugh, “Next time Henderson is over, you two aren’t allowed to watch Star Wars again.” He decides, taking the dish towel off of his shoulder and placing it onto the dresser before stepping towards where you sat, kneeling on one knee in front of you. “Dustin will have a field day when I tell him you think ‘magical levitation’ means Star Wars.” You said, your pout from before turning into a small smile.

“Is that not what they do?” He questioned, voice a little dramatic in hopes of making your smile wider, “The force is an energy field.” He once again rolls his eyes at your words, “Energy fields, magic- same thing.” He brushes off with a shrug before placing his left hand on your knee and letting his right hand cup the side of your face.

You let your eyes trail to the hand on your knee, reaching out and twisting the wedding ring on his finger that matched your own. “What’s going on, honey?” His voice was softer and more quiet than before, tilting his head to try and catch your eye. “I can’t put my shoes on, I tried everything and everyway.” You responded, cheeks flushing in embarrassment at the confession, sniffling to try and will the tears away.

It felt embarrassing not being able to put on your sneakers!

As Steve felt your cheeks heat up he rubbed his thumb against the apple of your cheek, “Hey,” He cooed, you only responded with a huff, moving your hands to rub at your eyes with a pitiful, forced laugh. “It’s embarrassing, m’sorry.”

With a shake of his head that you couldn’t see, Steve was soon pulling your hands from your face, letting your hands fall to your lap once again as he now placed both hands on the sides of your face, leaning in closer with a small frown. “There is nothing to be embarrassed about, not with me.” Steve promised, words hushed and sincere. He then presses a kiss to your forehead, then leaned back.

He soon was grabbing your left shoe, holding it in his hand. “What are you doing?” You questioned, he hummed in response, placing a kiss to your knee before lifting your leg up a tad to slip the shoe on. “Skydiving,” He replies, which in turn causes you to laugh at his dry tone.

Your eyes were soft as you watched him tie your shoe, finding it adorable and endearing that Steve Harrington still had to use the bunny ear method to tie shoes. After the left shoe was on and tied he moved to the other shoe, repeating the previous actions before he leaned forward to speak to your stomach. “Listen, I get it, you gotta grow before you come out, but give your mom some slack.”

Before he can say anything else, said baby is kicking right where Steve had placed his hand. “I know you can hear me!” He says through a laugh, which in turn causes you to laugh. He then tilts his head back to look up at you, the way the light hits his eyes makes them look more golden than usual, the more you stare the more it reminds you of the sun shining through the blinds that you were looking at a few moments ago. After a moment that feels too long, you are pressing your lips to his.

Maybe not being able to put on your shoes was a good thing...

it is actually routinely hilarious to me that fandom talks about the number of war crimes everyone has committed and how terrible they are, and "can [X Character] EVER recover from their heinous crimes?????"

And then there's me, who comes from classic wuxia where everyone does approximately 300% more crimes going ????? and then you get. you get this line about REALLY quite minor characters in LOCH Chapter Three "Winds of the Steppes" (emphasis mine):

"Although the Seven Freaks were all very righteous and moral individuals, they were also all very proud and acted very strange, making them well deserving the title of "Seven Freaks of Jiangnan". Each was a master of kungfu and they always worked together, so they have never come out on the short end of the struggle when going up against others in the martial world. Just a causal party brunch to be known throughout the jianghu for! Killed a hundred or so people between the seven of you! This is ALSO the event where the Seven Freaks became sworn siblings though they'd all known and loved each other before this.

I'd also like to mention that uhhh Han Xiaoying, the youngest of the Seven Freaks, is introduced the chapter before (chronologically a few days before this information is given to us by the narrator) as "a fisher girl with a copper oar, about seventeen or eighteen years of age."

The Seven Freaks are well known but hardly major jianghu characters in LOCH. They've killed at least a hundred people together in a fight with a minor clan of thugs sometime ago. That is the level of casual violence that would never happen in MDZS. 😌 Hope this helps explain where I'm coming from.

So. I asked you what you wanted me to talk about. You told me to talk about my opinions on research on POC cultures within the RPC, or rather the lack thereof.

Ohhhhhh my fucking god.

I could go into this for genuine hours, but thankfully I already have! This was from eight months ago in my OTHER fandom. A lot of the points I want to make are already in here, but the long and short of it is that there is an inherent and chronic lack of research and respect when it comes to POC culture in the RPC, especially from western members of the community. This includes the bastardization of Native American and African cultures, orientalism, general fetishization of POC culture. And the two most common excuses I've seen to not educate oneself are "I'm too afraid to be wrong or looking stupid," or "I don't know how to respond or engage in a way that's respectful."

Fucking bullshit. Both of these are weak and pathetic excuses. Are you an adult? Do you know how to use the internet? Then you know how to ask questions or do research. This isn't about your ego. Grow the fuck up!

Research into cultures you are unfamiliar with is a NECESSITY when it comes to roleplay. There's no fucking excuse when you have information literally at your fingertips.

Oh and it gets worse because! I've been a direct victim of the fetishization of East Asian culture! The disrespect some people have and the blatant unawareness of what they're doing is absolutely fucking insane! I've been forced to come to terms with the fact that there are some people who will never ever learn no matter how much you try to educate them and correct them, and they are worth less than the gum on my shoe.

This was an actual honest to god ask I got on one of my other blogs!!!!! Do you see! The lack of consideration or simple RESPECT to even fucking double check what they were even doing!!!!

For context, this was an anon that I'd been bothered by for MONTHS UNENDINGLY at this point, starting from before December 2021, and NO amount of gentle correction/education, requests to stop, to straight up begging or deleting asks stopped it. I don't want to go into the details but I genuinely did all I could. It got to the point where someone else made a burner account to whiteknight and attack someone unrelated out of an ASSUMPTION that they were the one at fault.

This is the worst kind of weeb shit and that anon ended up going to my RP partners and doing the same shit to them. BY THE WAY THIS WASN'T THE ONLY INSTANCE OF THEM DOING THIS THEY DID IT TO MY JAPANESE WAR MACHINE MUSES TOO. CONSTANTLY ASKING MY MUSES ABOUT THEIR "OTOU-SAN" (they didn't see their creator as a father figure) OR IF THEY DID MUNDANE HUMAN THINGS OR CELEBRATE??? AT CERTAIN FESTIVALS???? GLOBALLY WANTED ROBOT CRIMINALS???????????? ARE YOU DAFT?????????????????????????? They projected their takes onto my muses SO FUCKING BAD WITHOUT ANY RESPECT OR CONSIDERATION FOR MY INTERPRETATIONS I'M 💀

Anyway. TLDR: people???? (especially white people) simply DO NOT do proper and respectful research on cultures that aren't theirs, and the worst of it is blatant fetishization like I received, and the least of it is cowardly avoidance out of weak excuses, and that GRAVELY needs to change. I'm lucky enough that I haven't bore witness to it in this rp sphere yet, but either way I'm sick and tired of having to advocate for the most basic respect of my people and others' cultures.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, I try to always respond, but then I often don’t succeed at that. I like to say “thank you” when I can and I love getting comments so it feels nice to say thanks. But if I ever fail to reply to comments please know how much I appreciate them and how happy it makes me that anyone else enjoys what I write! It’s so fun to share. 

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? It doesn’t have its ending yet but probably The Bargain. It’s … a weird story that’s headed to weird places. That symbiote snippet I posted a while back? Yeah, that's where The Bargain gets these idiots.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Ooh, I’ll pick a completed one and say The Law Is Reason (Free From Passion).  

Do you get hate on fics? I haven’t yet, but I have been appalled at the disgusting harassment members of my fandom have experienced on AO3 and elsewhere. It’s really sad and gross. The amount of abuse my fellow Haladriel/Saurondriel writers have endured is absolutely abhorrent and wrong.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yeah, I think most of my fics include smut. I have written an Aronwyn/Haladriel foursome, one of if not the first Bronwyndriel-without-the-guys fics on AO3, multiple rounds of Haladriel virginity loss, random gratuitous smut, and Omegaverse smut. 

Do you write crossovers? If so, what's the craziest one you've written? Nope! 

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of, but I’ve definitely seen it happen to varying degrees, and it’s another one of those things that makes me shake my fist at the clouds about the internet. 

Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! Such an honor … although I only wish I could read the translator’s work in their language, which alas, I definitely cannot. But ALSO, I have a fic that's being podficced and I literally cried with joy the first time I listened to the first chapter.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, I haven’t! I have done loads of brainstorming and “yes-and”-ing with writing pals though and that’s so fun and creatively rewarding.  

What's your all time favourite ship? It’s fucking Sauron and Galadriel, guys. It just is. I can’t. I wasn’t built to withstand TROP Season 1 without becoming permanently damaged and fully unhinged for this ship of doom. 

What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Errrr … yeah, I do, and it annoys me because I want to read the story. It’s a Drarry AU I started probably 12 years ago featuring Amnesia!Harry and Psychiatrist!Draco. 

What are your writing strengths? Feelings. Porn with feelings. Banter.

What are your writing weaknesses? Action. Plot. Really need to figure out how to plot, and then, you know, do it. I prefer to vibe and chill with the characters, which is why I have a bunch of vibes-y one-shots and then some really long WIPs that have some serious question marks left on their outlines.  

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? When it’s incorporated smoothly, it can be really nice, but I don’t do it much, because I am not fluent in any of the languages my characters speak. Parf Edhellen is my bestie.

First fandom you wrote for? Uhhh it may have been some accidental semi-RPF back in the day in a composition book while I was in junior high. First online-published fandom? Harry Potter, like every other millennial of a certain age.  

Favourite fic you've ever written? Whaaaat no, how do I choose? I love them all in different ways. My favorite non-TROP fic: Drarry Forever. It's so cute. I loved writing it and I love reading it. My favorite TROP canon AU: The Chain. It's very much my exercise in "writing what I think TROP should have done instead" and there are parts that always give me chills. My favorite modern AU: Just What I Needed. It's the most personal story I have going and it's so much fun to write!

This was really fun! I think many of my friends have done it already but whoever wants to play...please do! I love hearing friends talk about their writing! <3

These are... not in any particular order of preference, I will just make question marks for a year if I try to sort them that way, so this is just the order I grabbed the links in. Which means newest to oldest.

1: Roots Grow Up - Naruto (Founders)

I still don't like the title, but I like basically everything else in this fic (including one detail I've decided on but not posted yet so... can't say). I am planning to add more, but the first chapter (which is all that's posted now) stands alone pretty well, since I wasn't sure whether I'd continue it at all when I first posted it.

The premise is that Kawarama didn't die, but instead lost his memory and has been living as a civilian farmer when Hashirama and Tobirama find him, a few years after founding Konoha. 0 people were prepared for this discovery.

Summary:

It's been fifteen years since Isamu was found, badly injured and unconscious in the forest. He woke up with amnesia, but his origin was pretty obvious, so he doesn't even miss the memories. It's been fifteen years. He's grown up, earned a place in the town that took him in, and even gotten married. His not-so-mysterious past doesn't matter. Not until shinobi wander into town, anyway.

2: Blessed Sacrifice AU - Naruto (Founders)

Cowritten with @codedredalert aka @denialcity, on hiatus while we both deal with Life, but there's a large and excellent chunk up already and so many cool things planned. So many!!!

Also, turns out I REALLY LIKE cowriting. Which is kind of old news because I've been doing forum RP for a decade+, but I wasn't sure if that would translate to fic. Turns out the answer is definitely yes.

BSAU is basically taking the "red eyes blessed" trope and digging into the like... worldbuilding repercussions of that, as shown through Izuna. And also crows.

Also comes with LOTS of fantastic art from Red!

Summary:

Mythology-religion freeform AU where Tobirama is considered blessed by the gods by the Uchiha, but they still need to deal with him as an enemy, so Izuna is ritually disowned from the Uchiha and given a special role responsible for protecting/fighting him.

3: Somebody Else's Dream - Girl Genius

Written as a gift for khilari! I can't remember what the exact prompt was, but I ended up writing an elaboration on the canon detail that Mechanicsburg was founded when a Heterodyne decided he wanted a town, so he just had his people build one.

The main character is an OC who was kidnapped to become a non-military member of the town, and the story is about how he ends up settling in. It's a very weird balance of a "finding your place in the world" story and "this is still kidnapping actually," and I don't think it would work in most fandoms, but since Girl Genius canon is a perpetual balance of heartwarming and "wow that is somehow worse than a war crime" already, I think it worked out really well, and I'm still very proud of it.

Also I suffered over the accents in this. But it worked!

Summary:

Faustus Heterodyne wants civilians for his newly built town. What the civilians want is generally different.

4: Jager Search - Girl Genius

Also written as a gift, this time for sparkagatha. It's the future, *vague handwave* everything is resolved, the OT3 are together and Klaus has accepted that he can leave Agatha alone and the revenants are being cured, happily ever after.

...except that some of the "wild" jagers are still missing. So Agatha sets out to find them.

Not much to say really; I can see spots where I'd write it differently if I wrote it now, but that's mostly things like "would have slightly changed the characterization," not big issues, and overall it still holds up very well for being... close to eight years old.

Summary:

Most of the detached jägers heard of the Heterodyne's return and came home, but a few are still missing. Agatha learns this, and decides to fix it.

5: Didn't Dream This - Death Note

Oh if I wrote this now tumblr would annihilate me. ~Problematic~ yay!

I'm not sure I'd say this is a good fic--if I was writing it now I'd write it so differently that it just would be a different fic--but I was clearly working out something about sexuality and relationships and the stuff (not) in my head that I've ended up labeling "being aro."

Basically: Mello and Matt are straight, and they decide to be together anyway. I'm glad I wrote it, partly because I know I wouldn't think or dare to write it now.

Summary:

Mello doesn't want to die alone. Solutions can exist without working out the way anyone wants. (Psychologically intimate interaction is really a better description than romance.)

Can I ask what you enjoyed about the Bailey/Kirsch family’s motive? I feel like it’s pretty divided in the fandom when it comes to that twist so I wanted a explanation on why you enjoyed it.

hey, thanks for asking! i’d love to elaborate on this

to put it simply, i think going back to a “simpler” motive after a few movies in a row of complex or more “fame-based” motives was really refreshing. we really haven’t had a ghostface motive be so truly be “plain old fashioned revenge” since mrs. loomis in scream 2, and even in that case i think her reveal / character fell flat for multiple reasons.

(like, for one, she was barely in the movie. and she was also a terrible mom who left her family, lol)

vs the bailey-kirsches are interesting because not only are they doing it for revenge… but it’s not just one parent/family member and their accomplice. it’s literally richie’s whole family as the killers.

not only does that make richie, as a killer, entirely more interesting due to the newfound knowledge that his whole family has a few screws loose… but i also think their “gone mad with grief” vibes were way more realistic and believable than mrs loomis.

++ the dynamic of it being a family created one of the most interesting interpersonal dynamics between killers in the franchise, because it’s one of the rare times you knew they (probably) weren’t going to turn on each other and you saw them actively trying to defend / protect one another.

i also want to give a shoutout to dermot mulroney, liana liberato, and jack champion as actors. even if you didn’t like their characters or performances, i think they did a really effective job of establishing the “family dynamic” even with the brief screen time they had all together as a trio in the last act.

i’d have to find the interview, but i actually remember reading an article where liana talked about how they discussed what they thought the family dynamic & birth order between the kids was before they filmed and like…. it shows !!!

(iirc, she said richie was the oldest, quinn was the middle child, and then ethan was the youngest.)

even the small stuff like ethan potentially having some hangups on richie being the favorite kid, or quinn very clearly being the “protector” sibling was incredibly clear from the acting choices

so, uhhh, long story short i think they just did the whole “revenge” motive thing the best out of the other killer(s) in the franchise with that same MO, while also just being one of the more interesting / thought provoking killing teams analysis wise due to the angle of it being literally an entire family.

Whenever I see Superbat posts in the Clark/Superman tag most of them ignore his history, his trauma, personality, his family/friends/allies [Lois, his parents, other Justice League members, Jimmy, Kara, Perry, John Henry, Pete, Steve, Cat and etc] his city, his children, [Conner, Chris, Mia, and Jon] and mythos.

It seems people are only interested in Bruce's character and his family. Also, most Superbat fans strike me as being an odd combination of being homophobic, heteronormative, and misogynistic and sometimes even abusive! Very crazy combo, but that's how it seems to me from looking at the majority of works.

For example, people typically make Bruce the bottom or feminine one. When realistically they would be switches. Yet, overwhelmingly all the work is dedicated to "Brucie Wanye." Even though most of the time his true personality is a cold, macho, caring man. Heck, I see Clark being more the bottom type, since he's a very loving partner, and he enjoys being taken care of. You know he's definitely getting pegged by Lois.

Which brings me to the lack of care towards Lois, where she is either villainized or not made to be an important person in Clark's live. Regardless of ships and platonic/romantic feelings, Lois is Clark's closest friend. Yet, none of that is rarely displaced in fanart, headcanons, and fics. Yet, Bruce's people are always made sure to be included.

Also, what's with the influx of evil Superman and poor innocent babyboy Batman. Look I like some dark tropes too, and I wouldn't mind so much if we at least kept the same treatment with both parties. Instead of only favoring one person.

It's deeply upsetting and disturbing to see the kindest original hero immigrant aka the champion of the oppressed. To be used for such weird, oc, fetishistic works. Again, it's odd to due Batman having so much privilege and is known for being very controlling, yet it's never displayed in these darker takes. Batman is a good man, but can have troubling qualities, as all good characters have. Clark has his darker attributes too, but that’s okay as long as it presented fairly.

Lastly, Clark and Bruce have a close friendship. Yet, again I see no one making art/fics about Clark's other close relationships. But, everyone seems to be a huge fan of being a multishipper for Bruce. Example being Selina, Talia, Joker, Harvey, Ghostmaker, Hal, Barry, Arthur, Diana, and etc. Seems to be to be a bit biased no, for fans that claim to love Clark and ship Superbat have no problem doing this for Bruce.

Where's the love for other Clark ships like Lois, Lana, Lex, John Corben, Brainiac 5, Hal, Arthur, Diana, Barry, Maxima, Volcana, Blanque, and etc.

Also, it's not really special that Clark recognizes Bruce's heartbeat as the go to Superbat trope. He does that with everyone like again to list Lois, his parents, his children, his villains, his friends both in the Justice League, at the Daily Planet, and in Smallville. Heck, he's even given Jimmy his own personal watch to call him!

Sorry, this is a lot. I didn't mean to type so much, but I didn't want to use multiple asks. I also want you to know I'm not attacking you personally. Some of the text posts and art I looked up on your blog are awesome! ❤️ Keep up the good work! I just sincerely want to know why there's such a strong bias in Superbat. I personally, do like the pairing as long as they are both treated like equals.

But for future reference, if you want to complain about something you don't really like about a ship or fandom maybe consider making your own post about it. Cus I know your intentions were good but going to a superbat blog and saying “this is everything I dislike about superbat!!” comes off pretty rude. So first off, and this is what I’m gonna end up repeating throughout this post, I understand your frustration at parts of Clark's mythos not being explored more in superbat fic/art but a lot of what it comes down is just that uh. Some people know more about batman mythos! And some people know more about superman mythos! It doesn’t really mean that they like/respect one character more than the other.. people are just interested in different comics lol. For example I rely a lot on my wonderful superman mutuals (hello @/blorb-el :] ) for info about Clark and his lore because I just haven’t read as many superman comics.. doesn’t mean I like Clark less. Just means I like sci-fi less…

As for this I have no idea what most of it means lol but like I said, telling a blog that you know likes superbat that superbat fans are “homophobic and abusive” is pretty rude for obvious reasons…

Now uh there’s a lot to unpack with this lol. Long story short, top/bottom preferences dont really have anything to do with personality. And as for “realistically they’d switch” yeah I personally see them as switches too! But there’s no “correct” way of imagining how a fictional character has gay sex lol. People are just gonna have their preferences for what they like to see and most of the times they dont have/need a specific reason for them. As for this, some of it is going to be because ppl maybe dont know as much about Lois as they do other characters, and some of it is yeah misogyny lol I won’t lie to you. But to be honest I haven’t seen any Lois bashing in fics or fanwork since like the mid 2010s. So I cant tell if this complaint is in good faith or not. Either way I still dont know why you’re telling it to me..

Lmao this one. First rule of fandom is that people are going to write weird, ooc fetishistic fics purely for the sake of writing weird, ooc fetishistic fics. Its fanfiction, its not like they’re official DC stories - they dont have to be accurate. I understand your frustration if you’re seeing a dynamic you dont like a lot but, again, I would advise you to utilize tagging + filtering to your advantage. The reality of fandom is you’re going to see interpretations of a character that you don’t like. And what you do is simply don’t read what you don’t like. Its not always that deep. 

Again! You just! Have! To look! For creators! That are more into! Superman comics! I genuinely had no idea how to call Rom x Ebrietas ship and your Spiderietas idea is really neat. Sorry if that's a weird question but do you have some other names for the ships that aren't really named by the fandom?

Oh, thanks! Yeah uhhh, "creative" names usually happen from the fact that actual characters names might not clash well at all... Normally I just clash names where they share a letter, but at times there is no shared one as well, or a character is not named..

So yeah I will just share names I am using:

Spiderietas - Rom x Ebrietas, obviously! Because Rom is a spider.

Iosedgar - Iosefka x Edgar. Another rareship, based on the fact that there is her blood vial in Nightmare of Mensis! I had an alternative version that it was a parting gift (?) from Iosefka to Edgar, and just recently some anon had the same idea, which prompted me to name the ship!

Crownalise - Bloody Crow x Annalise! This name is coined by @heraldofcrow actually, since Crow doesn't have canon name and you'd have to improvise, but it is cute as it has word 'crown' in it xd I also used to call King x Annalise ship cainnalise... Because king of Cainhurst and Annalise, and because of some headcanon regarding taking name/title of 'Cain' upon marriage, dating back to an important member of the dynasty named that, but my headcanons since then changed from THE first Cain being Yharnam's (sacrificial) spouse in cursed marriage ritual, to being her brother that had to continue the bloodline since Mergo literally fused with Yharnam's womb, sooo.. Yeah, I am not SURE if this name still works. I might cope with it being related to the castle rather than the person Cain, so that's up in the air!

Djurally - Djura x Djura's Ally. Again, that NPC has no name, he is literally titled 'Djura's Ally, so same thing x)

Assasimon - Using it for Brador x Simon. I did hear variant 'bradmon', but I think the "creative" one just works for me better. I'd usually use both in the tags, actually!

Simoonlight - Simon x Ludwig, another "had to use my imagination" moment because I swear Simon's name works sooooo awfully with most of the names ;-; I heard variant 'bowblade', but it really doesn't satisfy me because it is literally Simon's weapon's name dsjhfhds It is a personal nitpick and you should not use my silly replacement and instead should just use 'bowblade' like a normal person xd

Hunterriet - Hunter x Henriett! Aka wasted potential of the character on From's side in my opinion

Yahargura - okay, this ship 10000% doesn't exist, like, no chance in Hell. I totes made this shit up 😎 But basically, a Yahar'gul hunter we find in Underground Cells - same place where Yamamura and Gratia are at, is not Antal. He uses Church's pick too, but he has completely different data otherwise! I have this whole story in my head, with how Yamamura is a summon in Yahar'gul, and how there is already a defector Antal - that maybe it was another defector friend that helped him to escape! So Yamamura, Simon, Gratia and this hunter basically formed the YOU MEDDLING KIDS team to close in on Church's darkest secrets! So yeah, it is one the ships possible within the team (and my preferred one). There are also simamura (Simon x Yamamura) and gratimon (Gratia x Simon). See, Simon's name is so inconvenient! He makes ship names sound like Dig1mon names -_-"

Romaria - Rom x Maria. It is closer to a crackships than to a rareship, and was based off my old joke about how Willem x Rom is similar to Gehrmaria but with magic aesthetic instead of warrior one dhfdhs Granted, it is not that similar (for one I am CALLING status and age difference between Rom and Willem to be much bigger), but somewhere deep in my mind there are unborn shitposts mostly based off Willem and Gehrman getting cucked I am thinking maybe willemoonside for Willem x Rom (awful and cursed) since she is in the Moonside Lake as a spider.., because I am NOT calling it 'romushroom'. NOPE.

Yurimposter - Yurie/Julie x Imposter Iosefka. Really have had it with unnamed characters... :( Yuriedgar for her and Edgar, of course. And impostedgar for the remaining pair, though I've never seen anyone ship it?

Yurimian - Yurie x Damian. It was my very first BB ship, along with @val-of-the-north, based on the idea that both of these characters are, actually, "failed" members of their respective institutions. Since then my vision of both characters had changed so much that I find it hard to feel the same way about this ship now, but there is just still.. something. Besides Val still loves this ship, so I am not allowed to 100% disown it xD

I also simply use yurom for Yurie x Rom, although I personally consistently refer to her as Julie (a more accurate translation of her name). I tried to have something creative, like for example 'vacurie' (vacious + yurie), but I didn't like anything so I just clashing names here!

Bradorence - Brador x Laurence, my beloved. If there is secretly a "fancy" name that is used instead, let me know! This ship basically doesn't exist so I cannot be sure on whether there is accepted name for it yet or not?

Romicolash - Rom x Micolash, I use it together with 'micorom' because I just like this name for the ship better.

Kosmicolash - Micolash x Kos, obviously, and Abductor Parents for Micolash x Wet Nurse because I honestly don't know what word to come up with BUT they do have a kidnapped infant xdddd

Djurman - Djura x Gehrman! Talked about this one, lotta parallels with Maria, lotta reasons to theorise Djura was his first Dreaming Hunter; and I think the only one that worked with him for him for more than one night.

Swordsmelia - Amelia/Emilia x Cleric Beast from the bridge! That beast drops Swords Hunter badge, basically a toned-down version of the badge of Ludwig's Holy Blades, so I presume it used to be one of the clerics who are also... well, swordsmen... Badge's description says so. Chiemilia is an alternative that I probably will use instead tbh, coming from chief + Emilia (it is a more proper translation of her name), since with that badge it is ALSO how you buy Hunter's Chief Emblem, so likely that cleric beast is now in the status Ludwig used to be... okay, this paragraph is just turning into 'why you should care about Cleric Beast of the bridge, lol sdhfdsdf. In fact, if there is already a name, I'd like to know, but I have not seen this ship often...? Like, at all? I've seen Laurence x Amelia more often than this, actually! (that I call amence, as hysterical as this name containing word 'amen' is lol.) Again, I saw these ships, but I never saw a name for either, even once? help

Adolline - Adeline x Doll! There are like 5 ways to justify how it could happen, so I will just leave it be here.

Mariador - Maria x Brador. If someone ever actually ships it please kick me, I am not proactive on this ship but it could be pretty fun I think xd

Maria x Ludwig genuinely has me puzzled, because mariudwig doesn't sound all that bad, but I also WANT to "get creative" xd Cainhudwig is as punny as I like em, but mariudwig sounds better? Honestly, I think with this one I am okay just calling it this..?

Nightmaresearch - this one is also silly, and comes from the fact that BOTH characters in it are unnamed. It is how I called a ship of those female Church hunters (black and white) that you have to fight before entering Research Hall. I also have a variant knightmaresearch when Maria is involved, because she is a Knight, so it becomes double pun.. I saw this "ship" with all three girls usually in pr0n context in Japanese sources, but also I once saw the white girl and Maria legitimately shipped. Basically, 'nightmare' is replaced with 'knightmare' whether it is Maria with both or only one of these girls. If Hell freezes over, sky falls on Earth, BB gets ported on PC and these hunters become popular enough to discern the ship names better, I might reconsider, but so far it works!

Micoed for Micolash x Edgar, damicolash for Damian x Micolash and edgamian for Edgar x Damian. Nuff said. Edgamialash for all three.

Forgotentacles - Forgotten Madman x Madman's Escort. xd I know this name is hysterical, but it makes sense because they both wear robes wrapped with coiled tentacles, and use Augur.... :') xd Again - when both characters are not named lmao bottomtext.

Despairing - both of Desperate Hunters / Hunters of Despair / whatever shipped.

Alfeather - Alfred x Crow, but it's been like two years since I've lost liking for this ship, sorry.. Too much hassle with how not only Alfred's questline should never progress, but he also should have been a total looser that never actually found and harmed a single Vileblood in his life- because Crow would never forgive that. I just prefer to let Alfred be eeeeeviiiiiil rather than "preserve" him from actually doing something for the sake of a ship I do not even main xd

That time some guy tried to sue a teenager over lord of the rings rp

This got like really long so it put it under a cut so you guys don't have to have this long ass post on the dash. This story time was sponsored by the good people over at @radioactive-earthshine

Gather around children, I'm about to tell you a story about not the most unhinged person I have ever met through roleplay. So this happened about 10 years ago I like many many unpopular teenagers enjoyed writing and doing rp on this hellsite. 2012 is a wild time because I'm a lil bitch that loved lord of the rings and those new hobbit movies were out making lortr cool again to interact with in fandom. I've been doing roleplay online for a very long time it's just a little hobby I have. So naturally in 2013 I joined this weird hobbit rp group.

I had just come out of another group and was looking for something that was a little different but still kind of related to the whole Tolkien thing. I found a 16+ group, it was hobbit based, not open yet and it was a modern au (it was a whole crime family thing, not really my thing but I decided to give it ago) and so I sent my application in for my character just before the deadline and I found myself in a mixed group of teenagers and adults. Mostly adults though.

So the structure of the group was we did dash rp, and had an out of character group chat in skype where we could touch base and talk about what was going on in the group.

The group was run by three mods. Let's call them Gemma, Kenny and Terry. They were all adults, around 21ish. I think I was the youngest person in the group at 16 going on 17. We rp for a bit and things are fine? There's the usual RP drama but nothing scandalous except for Gemma and Kenny doing really explicit puppy play kink just on the dash in front of everyone. That should have been my first red flag honestly but you know as a child with unsupervised internet access (which was the style at the time) honestly I had seen worse and didn't understand how they found this sexy (I actually still don't really understand it ngl I'm not kink shaming or anything you do you I'll just look away this is a me issue) Then out of nowhere a member let's call her Maria leaves the group and Maria posts a very long post about the group.

This is the link in Maria's post. Looking back on this now ten years later I think this person was Terry one of the admins.

This is red flag number 2 again I'm stupid and 16 so I should have jumped ship but I didn't. The group chat is frankly confused. She ends her time in the group by reblogging "So long and thanks for all the fish"

Now Terry was never really an active mod and he actually dropped off the face of the earth three days after the group opened. I don't know what happened behind closed doors but Kerry and Gemma claimed that Terry just didn't want to be involved in the group anymore. Terry played kind of a very important character one of the leaders of the families that my character was in so it left plotting really up in the air when it came to uhhh what do we even do?? But the Remaining two Admins appointed Kerry cocksucker and long term friend "Cap" admin in Terry's place. After a week or two of complaining that hey our groups leader is AWOL we need this character back, the Admin team were like "haha don't even worry guys we'll open applications for the big cheese and pick one in a week." So the week passes and a new person gets picked to play this big cheese character I can't remember who this person was called but let's call her Lydia. So Lydia, joins the group chat and she's rarely seen online. This is red flag number three.

Another group member let's call her Jenny puts me, her rp buddies and a few other group members that aren't the admin team in to a big group chat on skype. She has become buddy buddy with the admin crew and was put in to their super secret super private group chat on whats app and it turns out... there is no Lydia. Kerry is Lydia because the only people who had applied for The Big Cheese was current group members and he hated ALLL of us to the point where he and his admin team had black listed all of our blogs names on the dash so they didn't have to see us rp their characters "wrong" but they especially hated Mimi who played a very minor character in the whole group. They couldn't stand her or her character and they were talking shit about every single member of the group in this group chat. So everyone is rightfully pissed. Not only was he talking shit about us but he was talking shit about Mimi! And we did not stand for Mimi slander. So we hatched a plan. A big, Fuck you guys and your shitty kink on our dash! plan. It was very simple. We would rp as normal for the next week and then on monday we would post "So long and thanks for all the fish icb you did this to us post and we would reblog Maria's original so long post and we would all leave, take the characters we were playing and just write them separately on tumblr as indie blogs where we would just rp with ourselves.

Honestly Kerry was shook apparently this mass exodus of users traumatized him (as if he didn't traumatize us enough on the dash with his puppy play threads with Gemma) I don't have a screen shot of this again it was ten years ago and Kerry has deleted all but one of the posts he made about the situation on the rp hub but he went off about how he was going to sue us for "stealing" his characters once he figured out that we were just doing indie rps by ourselves. Please keep in mind that these are lord of the rings characters in a very generic crime family AU setting. There's nothing original about them. Any oc that was "stolen" from the original bios honestly at the point of 6 months of rp was so far removed from what was in the original bio I wouldn't claim they were his property anymore.

He tried to revamp the group but honestly i think we took the drive and the energy out of him. They hated Mimi and her character so much that in the shortlived revamp they actually killed off her character in the rp lore, talk about petty.

He send us asks and dms on skype for a little bit threatening to sue us but he stopped when none of us like replied to him.

A year later Maria must have found out what happened and made a post about it. Perhaps Kerry was still ranting and raving about how we stole his rp.

Well, the thing is, Hades is a fan favorite among nearly every Disney fan lol. He’s funny, he’s witty, he’s sassy, and he has some pretty iconic lines and moments from the movie, so honestly I don’t see a lot of hate on him in the Disney or Hercules fandom if any at all.

But if someone was hating on Hades I would definitely just ignore them cause like, yeah you can dislike a character. There are quite a few fictional characters out there that I don’t like, so you can have your opinion, but if it gets to the point where it’s like, you’re starting to bash on real people (voice actors, directors, producers, me or other fans, etc.) and act like he’s a real dude who’s done real crimes (I mean, I know Hades is obviously based off of the original Greek mythological god Hades who has done some sketchy stuff, but this is DISNEY Hades, so he’s very different from the original Greek god) then it’s kinda like “okay, dude, calm down it’s a fictional character from a Disney movie in the 90s, like chill” lmao, but yeah I’ve never run into that sort of situation and I highly doubt I ever will, because like I said, Hades is a fan favorite among a lot a fans out there, so yeah lol

I will say, I know Hades has done some evil things in the movie (ie. trying to kill his infant nephew so he can rule over Olympus) and I obviously don’t condone that irl, but as I said, it’s a family Disney movie with fictional characters so like, y’know, I’m not a psycho and I don’t support killing your infant family members y’know lmao

Like he does have his good moments and is capable of caring about others. There are characters out there who will do evil stuff out of pure malice and just don’t care, so that’s why I said it depends on the character, but yeah, with Hades I suppose he could be woobified lmao

Uhhh I'm drawing a blank here because I don't read a ton of fanfic and the ones I do read come highly recommended. But if I had to pick something, it would be fanfics assigning the Water Tribes values that are very Western and failing to explore the interesting and rich nuances of what it means to portray a fictional culture inspired by real-life indigenous cultures.

21. part of canon you think is overhyped

Zuko's redemption arc. (Which I see as more of an enemy-to-friends/ally arc.) It's easily the most prominent aspect of ATLA, and upon my first watch, I was very impressed by the degree of change that took place in Zuko. On the one hand, his redemption arc did have to be very well done for us as the viewers to be sold on his change of heart and alliances. On the other hand, the way ATLA highlighted the importance of his arc (to the point where it almost steals the stage from the other characters' arcs) is not so much of a flaw in the writing, but more a reflection of the fact that ATLA is, at its heart, a Western story. Redemption arcs are very popular in Western culture. But if ATLA was an Eastern piece of media, Zuko's arc would deal more with issues of loyalty and duty and belonging to his family and nation and what his actions of going against them would mean for his (and his family's) honor. There would be more emphasis exploring messy, moral dilemmas with no easy answer. And the conclusion of his arc, his ultimate "redemption," would receive much less fanfare than it did in ATLA. In other words, in Eastern storytelling, Zuko's redemption arc would probably not be overhyped.

So this team according to the mcu is Kate Bishop, America Chavez, Billy and Tommy Maximoff (even though they don't technically exist yet), Kamala Khan, Yelena Belova, and Peter Parker. I try not to be the "um actually" person but like there's a point where you put a character into a narrative position that isn't theirs and then the character that is originally made for that role doesn't get to have it. Peter Parker is not a Young Avenger! he's a regular Avenger sometimes but frankly not often. Kamala Khan is not a Young Avenger she's a Champion!! And Miles is on the Champions, but when the mcu team up Kamala with a different Spider-Man it erasures any chance of Miles in the mcu. Not only that but because Peter is so fucking young in the mcu he's being shipped with Kamala by the fandom and like listen fans don't have that much influence but idk I worry especially since Marvel comics wants to keep Peter young. Like fuck Miles and Kamala have such a cute friendship and it's so weird to see her interacting with Peter in fan content. It breaks my heart to see Miles just replaced. Like it really gets under my skin that people are comfortable shipping a character that is 30 in the comics with another character that is 17. Like it's weird right???

Okay, that was a whole tangent. Of the MCU "young Avengers" only Kate, Billy, Tommy, and America have actually been on the team and America isn't even a founding member. Idk it's just weird to see a really diverse team from the comics be replaced with white characters and white washed characters (Marvel why isn't America Black??? Why you'd take away Billy and Tommy's Jewish and Romani identity???) Like at some point, it's not even about comic accuracy it's about fans not wanting to see people of color on screen or in fan content. I feel like I'm going fucking crazy no one else has a fucking problem with it I feel like I'm being gaslighted by the whole internet.

And to like actually answer your question I love the young teams in comics because they showcase legacy characters and by giving them a big team comic it only gives them more time to shine and they're not tokenized on an already existing team. Like I fucking adore the Champions because one Kamala and Miles!! but two they're engaging with deeper societal questions, even though it is a comic run aimed at a younger audience they don't pull punches, they say this isn't a problem we can punch away, it's not aliens, it's bigotry that's the true villain. In fact I think because they are aimed at a fresher comic audience they have the freedom to do new things and tackle tougher issues. They're fucking amazing and what I recommend to people who've never picked up a comic before

Also not be nit picky but the West Coast Avengers aren't a young or a new team. Volume 3 (the one Gwenpool was in) was kinda an outliner with a slightly younger hip team, but Clint was still there, kinda a passing the torch thing, but that was only 10 issues and we've got nothing since smh

Didn’t think I would ever post in the mtl tag again bc I got rlly bad burn out from being obsessed with the show like uhhh 3 or 4 years ago BUT… I saw the trailer for the new movie and it’s creeping into my mind again 🤦‍♀️ and like always I think of my current fandoms mixed with other shows and stuff I like soo I WAS THINKING ABOUT HOW WELL NIGHTCORD FROM PJSK & DETHKLOK would work together!!

Like I was thinking about it & was surprised how similar members of both bands are to each other.. so here is a big ramble about my thoughts on it and who I think would be closest to who🧍

Pickles & Mizuki! Both are mostly carefree, outgoing social butterfly characters who like to have fun & are the mediators between their friends sometimes when arguments happen. Also they both have their own problems that they’d rather push to the side for the most part so they can just keep ‘having fun’ instead. I can see them getting along super easily.

Toki & Mafuyu. Both have trauma bc of their parents. (I was also thinking Mafuyu is also kinda like Pickles since they both have trauma specifically from their moms). Both of them get into weird trances & both do care for their parents even though they were abused by them. Both of them have major death/empty themes going on.

Nathan & Kanade. Both are very serious about their music to a degree where it can be unhealthy. (Nathan making his friends upset bc he won’t stop until a song/recording is perfect & early/current-ish Kanade doesn’t allow herself to take many breaks when it comes to making music.) Both just seem very alike to me with the way they express themselves too tho obviously Kanade is more open, honest & friendly. They’d be exactly the same if Nathan just allowed himself to show that he cares lol. Plus!! They both have long hair and love their dads :) Oh also both their songs save people tho Nathans music saves ppl/the earth in more of a fantasy way while Kanade makes music to give people hope and save her friend Mafuyu, from s*icide.

Skwisgaar & Ena- Perfectionists. They also are quick to bicker with a certain other member. (Ena & Mafuyus relationship reminds me of Skwis & Tokis besides the whole Toki wanting to be like Skwis thing). They both get very moody and can come off very self absorbed but its just bc of their mental health and the way they cope with things.

Uhmmm since Nightcord only has 4 members & none of them remind me of Murderface.. I don’t really know what to say about him 😭 Other than I think him & Nightcord miku would get along bc she’s already used to playing therapist LOL & he’d probably end up crying bc she’s really sweet. He could say whatever or do weird shit like stab stuff and she’d be like •_•? for the most part. Like she would just ask if he wants to talk about what’s troubling him. She wouldn’t pick on him for anything he’s saying and he’d just start sobbing. I love Nightcord miku so much oh my god

favorite female character: Devola from NieR:Gestalt/NieR:Replicant! Firstly, I love redheads, she’s a redhead, and as much as I don’t like how they “prettified” many of the models in the remaster, she looks adorable. Secondly… I just love her personality. That spunky, carefree yet kind archetype is one I love and she is that to a T. Reading “The Red and the Black” novella, as tough as that was, really made me love her more than I already did. And she’s got a great design. Second place would probably be Manah from Drakengard 1, who is also probably my favorite character in all of the games. She is iconic.

Favorite male character? Caim. Caim Caim Caim. Also my favorite protagonist of the games. Even if in comparison to the other games’ protagonists he might not be as “deep”, he’s just… fun. Baby girl. And a monsterfucker. Don’t forget that. Plus, he got the best cutscene in all of the games in Drakengard 2. Holy shit. Secondly would be Emil, given he’s been my profile picture. Emil is the sweetest little guy and I would take him to a Dairy Queen.

Favorite Book/Season/Etc(in this case, game IG): Tie between NieR 2010 and Drakengard 1. NieR 2010 is my favorite game of all time, while Drakengard 1 is my favorite of the 5 Drakenier games EASILY. I’d give an explanation, but I’d need like five other posts to do that :P

Favorite Episode(in this case, a cutscene): THE FUCKING CUTSCENE IN DRAKENGARD 2 WHERE CAIM APPEARS OH MY FUCKING GOD. LITERALLY PEAK. IDC IF YOU ADORE DRAKENGARD 2 OR THINK ITS DOGSHIT IT IS CANONICAL IN MY HEART. THE WAY HE SUDDENLY APPEARS BEHIND THOSE KNIGHTS. THE SOUND EFFECTS WHEN HE STOMPS HIS FOOT AND OH MY GOOOOODDD THE SOUND DESIGN ON HIS SWORD??? THE FUCKING SOUND OF THAT???? HOOOOOOOOO

AND THE SHOT OF ALL THIS BLOOD GOING EVERYWHERE FROM WHEN HE KILLS THE KNIGHTS AND MANAH IS JUST STARING AT HIM…. -^]*]*\€]*\€|*]£]+\€|€]]<|£€|!|]>]€ it’s so good so good and the music they used was also amazing. Runner up is undeniably Kaine’s rant in NieR 2010. There is a fucking reason it opens Gestalt. Don’t even play the game, just watch that cutscene (in English) and you will be hit with impeccable atmosphere and voice acting.

Favorite Cast Member: Laura Bailey!! Her as Kaine floors me every time. I’ll also give props to the guy who voiced 9S because my godddd that was a startling performance. And Yoko Taro himself, for feeding my ADHD his stupid little games.

Favorite ship? As much as I don’t like Drakengard 3 nor Zero herself… Zero x Accord has won my heart. That’s probably just because Accord is very Homura coded but that’s ok. And of course, Angelus and Caim. Fuck Romeo and Juliet, I want what they have. (Dragon and Donkey coded)

A character I’d die defending? Uhhh since pretty much all of these characters are sucky people and the fandom is chill with it… I guess Lady One? Idk lol.

A character I just can’t sympathize with? Zero oh my god!!! I don’t like her. Sorry guys, I don’t like the lady who makes r*** jokes towards the men she takes after killing her sisters, no matter what “good reason” she has for doing so.

A character I grew to love? …Arioch. Fucking… Arioch. She is a horrible disgusting person… but she’s funny about it. Also Jackass from NieR:Automata, I’d go fishing with her!

My ANTI-OTP? Honestly, Kaine x Nier. No real reason why it’s just not my cup of tea lol.

It's been talked about over on Twitter a lot but yeah, it's essentially what you said--DSMP Season 2 is overall more organised. Dream had an hour long meeting with each member of the SMP about where they wanted to go from here, and he said only one or two had second thoughts. Other than that, there's going to be set schedules from now on and like, a certain amount of hours that must be streamed in order to be considered an active member of the SMP. Lots of fans complained this would (1/2)

put too much pressure on the CCs, but Wilbur did a stream to say that the majority (if not all) of the CCs agreed to a set schedule and reiterated over and over "Dream and I are friends--he's not making me do anything I don't want to". So while Schlatt hasn't said anything, Wilbur is definitely going to be part of the new season and has said he's excited to stream with people he hasn't streamed with before. Knowing all this, I'm pretty optimistic about what's in store! :") (2/2)

huh! well, that's good, i'm glad about that at least. truly wild that a chunk of the fanbase thinks that asking content creators to uhhh [checks notes] make content as a prerequisite for being on the server is 'too much pressure', but then we already know this fandom is insane.

this has given me marginally higher hopes for the whole thing, so thanks for the info, anon. i'm still curious as to how much the characters will carry over - c!wilbur at least seems to be out of the picture? unless cc!wilbur intends to return him as a mormon, but i wonder how many of the other ccs will keep vs switch characters, or whether the thing is intended as a wholescale reset. i guess we'll just have to wait and see...
