Three soul stones down!

This is what I'm grinding them on. The rock saw is on the other side of the room so no pics, but I use that to cut raw stone or glass chunks down to something closer to their final size/shape before moving over to this thing.

This is a lot of attention and he’s not use to it

It’s a beautiful hand made photo album with all the pictures you’ve ever taken together in it, and a few he’s taken when you weren’t paying attention

Under each picture is a brief description and the reasons he loves the photos and you

Office rocks! Calcite, quartz crystal, iron-blue clay mineral I can't remember the name of..., Fossil leaf, calcite crystals in pink stilbite geode, my OMR Lambda egg, a OMR opal and waterline egg, a really nice Stilbite crystal on botryoidal agate, and an opal fill Donnybrook egg! After several conversations today about cutting rocks, I made sure to get a tiny bit of saw time in today, and I cut up a chunk of this agate w/opal waterlines found a couple weeks ago up on the Clackamas. I made a little rhombus and cut a tiny slab and I totally love the results! Definitely gotta go find bigger chunks of this stuff, I know it's out there! Large Brazil Agate Cabochon

This is what we call a tongue cabochon and it a good size at just over 70mm long. It has a nice subtle pattern and nice waterline pattern along with classic fortification patterns to boot. The color is not extreme in any way but sometimes that makes for a nice setting.

Found a cool rock tonight. Doesn’t look like much, but it’s a surface-fractured thunder egg. The white on the right-hand end is pink common opal with a waterline formation, then pink botryoidal agate cavity with calcite crystals, and under the bots on the left end is a spray of bright red jasper plume. It’s really a stunning egg! Eggs with cavities like this often break naturally on the surface. Opal is porous and absorbs and looses water at a different rate from the stone around it, so the rock will develop micro-fractures along opal lines, fill with water, freeze and crack open. It’s probably been on the surface over a hundred years, and maybe broken open for a few decades. Would have been a collector’s item if fresh cut; but surface broken like this, it’s my item and that’s fine with me!
