Here is a potentially silly question: how do you feel about birthstones? Do you think they fit the months (by season or astrological sign)? Do you have other stones you'd rather see as birthstones?

Okay, so, birthstones make absolutely no sense.

I mean, look at this mess. We’re doing beryl and corundum twice! I get that they get Special Different Names for their Special Different Colors, but it's just lazy. And why are we giving some months cheap, common gemstones like garnet and amethyst while the poor June birthdays have to shell out tens of thousands of dollars for FREAKING ALEXANDRITE? That’s incredibly unfair! We should be picking birthstones that are all roughly the same price. And why do some months get multiple gemstones? I’ll tell you why: because nobody can agree on an official list and every attempt to standardize this thing has just added MORE birthstones to every month.

So obviously the answer is to standardize it again, by throwing out everything and starting over. Here are our goals:

Fair pricing. You should be paying roughly the same amount regardless of what month you were born in. We’re getting rid of those ridiculous outliers like diamond and alexandrite.

More customization potential! Nobody should be stuck with a stone they hate. We’re picking gemstones that come in multiple colors or varieties, so that everyone can choose a variant they like.

Wearability. Some birthstones are too fragile to be worn as jewelry. We need to replace them with stronger stuff.

No more duplicate gemstones. Every month gets a stone or family of stones with a unique chemical composition.

Now without further ado, I present to you:

The New And Improved List Of Birthstones With No Problems Or Flaws That Everyone Will Definitely Agree On And We Can Start Using Right Now Immediately

JANUARY: GARNET

I've got no problem with garnet. It's a fine, classic birthstone, so January can keep it. But I would like to see a little more garnet diversity. January birthdays shouldn’t be confined to just red. The garnet family of minerals contains a rainbow of different colors, like orange hessonite, green uvarovite, pink rhodolite, yellow grandite, and many more. They’re all garnet, so we should be wearing them all!

FEBRUARY: QUARTZ

The original birthstone of February was amethyst, which is… kinda boring. Super cheap and common and you only get one color? No, we can do better. February gets ALL the quartzes now. Keep wearing amethyst if you want, but also feel free to branch out into clear quartz, citrine, rose quartz, smoky quartz, rutilated quartz, tiger eye… actually, take all the agates too. If it’s quartz, it’s yours!

MARCH: SPODUMENE

March was originally aquamarine, but I’ll be giving all the beryls to May, so we need a different stone here. Let’s stick with that theme of pale pastels and go with spodumene. For an April birthday, bedeck yourself in green hiddenite, pink kunzite, or yellow triphane. Despite its subtle colors, your birthstone has some amazing fluorescence, with really cool pinks and oranges under a UV light.

APRIL: FELDSPAR

Diamond is too pricy for this list, so we’re replacing it with something less expensive and way more interesting. April will now be represented by the feldspar family. We’re talking labradorite, moonstone, amazonite, aventurine, and sunstone. While you don’t have much variety in color, your stones are full of shimmery schiller which glitters and shifts as it catches the light.

MAY: BERYL

May’s original birthstone was emerald, which is great and can stay, but we’re also adding its siblings! May is now represented by all beryls: Emerald, Aquamarine, Morganite, Bixbite, Heliodor, Goshenite, and whatever other varieties I’m forgetting to list. A bright and saturated rainbow of colors is represented here, so everyone born in May is sure to find something they like.

JUNE: ORGANIC GEMSTONES AND FOSSILS

It’s time to address the alexandrite in the room, and obviously we’re getting rid of alexandrite. A stone worth $15,000 to $70,000 a carat does not belong on the same list as friggin amethyst. Instead we’ll look at the other traditional June birthstone, pearl. The problem with pearl is that it’s a clear outlier in this list. An organic gemstone, by some definitions not even a mineral. Should we replace it? NO. We are OWNING it. All organic gemstones now belong to June. Pearl is joined here by jet, amber, coral, ivory, ammolite, petrified wood… in fact, June can have every fossil ever.

JULY: SPINEL

July was originally represented by ruby, which is a fine stone and won’t be kicked off the birthstone list - we’re just shuffling it down to September. Replacing ruby for July is spinel. (See, it’s funny because historically spinel has often been mistakenly identified as ruby! That's a little gemology humor for you.) Available in any hue you could possibly desire, spinel offers some nice color options to a month that previously only featured red. Of course if you want to keep wearing red, red spinel mimics ruby so well that you’ll barely notice the difference.

AUGUST: PERIDOT

Nope, we’re not changing this one. Peridot is the ideal gemstone and you ungrateful August whiners can die mad about it. HOW ABOUT YOU LEARN TO APPRECIATE PERFECTION

SEPTEMBER: CORUNDUM

Sapphire is a wonderful, classic stone and it deserves its spot on this list. But the corundum family has been separated for far too long, and we’re finally going to reunite them. Joining sapphire in September is its sister ruby. Between the pinks and reds of ruby and the many, many colors of sapphire, these two stones give September a nice variety of colors.

OCTOBER: TOURMALINE

Look, as gorgeous as opal is and as much as I love it, it is both way too pricy for our list and also TERRIBLE in jewelry. This stone is just too brittle to wear around from day to day and can be ruined just by getting it wet, which makes wearing your birthstone a huge hassle. We’ll kick opal out and hang on to October’s other traditional birthstone, tourmaline. Pink tourmaline may be classic, but this stone comes in plenty of other colors. Whether it’s brown dravite, watermelon elbaite, or the rare and beautiful blue indicolite, you can wear them all!

NOVEMBER: TOPAZ

November can keep topaz, but we’re not confining it to the color yellow. This stone comes in a huge variety of colors, and now they can ALL represent November. No further notes; it’s a nice, classic stone.

DECEMBER: ZIRCON

I dunno, I’ve had to come up with 12 of these, I’m burnt out. Sure, zircon, whatever.

“BUT WAIT,” you say. “Now instead of having a single color assigned to each month, almost every month is represented by almost every color, making it impossible to tell anyone’s birthstones apart and removing what made them special and recognizable as symbols!”

Well CLEARLY you didn’t read the title of this list.

AAAGGHHHHH Both of these sound super duper fun. Personally I'd pick the beach with the TFA Crew though, cause I have absolutely NO tolerance to the cold. I'm a freeze-baby...

"So this 'sunblock' protects your skin from the ultraviolet rays of your local star..." Optimus holds the small bottle between two fingers, squinting as he scans the even-smaller label.

"Yep! Also makes sure I don't get burned. Speaking of which... SARI!" You stop slathering sunscreen on your thigh long enough to call out to the young girl currently flying circles around Bumblebee and Bulkhead with a massive inflatable beach ball in her hands. "You better have put some on already!"

"I did! Seriously, you don't have to baby me all the time!" She sticks a playful tongue out at you before launching the ball towards Bumblebee, who quickly thwacks it back into the air.

"Gotta be faster than that, Sari!"

"Ooh! My turn! Send it over here!" Bulkhead calls, waving his massive servos in the air. You roll your eyes, turning back to Optimus with a smile.

"Do you want to come look for shells and agates with me and Prowl? You're invited too, Ratchet."

"And risk getting even more sand between my stabilizers? I'll pass." Using a massive tarp from the factory as a makeshift towel, Ratchet sits cross-legged as he scrolls through a data pad. Meanwhile Prowl, barely a few paces away, seems to have found his first target. He cradles a tiny cone shell in his servo, staring down at it in open fascination. You and Optimus look to each other and exchange a small shrug and a chuckle.

"I'd be happy to join you, if you'd have me."

Outside of Ames' place is an angel with twenty gargantuan, yet glistening European bee-eater wings with peacock feathers sticking out. She has snow-white skin, purple apatite eyes, and black claws and talons. She has long, layered hair of coppery red with curtain bangs and slight curls. She dons a full suit of plate armour that appears to be made from gleaming, slightly battle-worn gold. It has a carmine lustre and she’s also wearing a half-skirt of verdigris with yellow-orange and amaranth purple geometric shapes.

She's carrying around a claymore made from red clay, clouds, and the primordial mist, and it has six eyes of purple agate in a vertical row. The blade is slightly curved and it seems to be covered in a translucent, honey-like substance. However, she seems to be in a tranquil and loving state of mind. She quietly admires the natural environment.

Today's Saint Agatha's - Agate Deuna in Basque - Day eve, time to sing!! Tradition asks the singers to mark the rhythm with sticks called makilak; and that’s exactly is the most interesting part.

Agate Deuna is nothing but a remain of the ancient pagan tradition of waking the earth up after winter. That’s it: we literally hit the ground with sticks. Christianism couldn’t get rid off this tradition and came up with the idea of singing to Saint Agatha instead of to Amalurra (Mother Earth), but the tradition survived.

The song is very powerful and these male choirs - very popular in EH - are always a complete delight to listen to.

Yellow Olivine Darnold in two outfits: the homeworld outfit and the on-earth oufit. The homeworld version resembles a warmer, high-collar version of Peridot's outfit with limb enhancers and a green visor, and features Darnold with a yellow coloured flat top afro and dark orange skin. His gem, which is green and triangular, resides on his forehead. The on-earth version features her wearing a duku headwrap with a star-shaped bow in the front, a yellow visor, yellow gloves and boots, a labcoat with a three-pointed collar like the top half of a star, and a one-piece swimsuit-like apparel separated into two shades of green by an inverted "V".

3 early Gem-Darnold sketches: Darnold in a mish-mash outfit consisting of a scarf, labcoat, a visor, arcade-patterned shirt, polkadot skirt, striped socks, rocket boots, and the headwrap. He is holding a clipboard and pen, and seems to be observing something. Beside that is a sketch of Darnold in homeworld attire, projecting a holographic screen with her floating, limb enhancer fingers. And lastly, Darnold in a labcoat again, looking sheepish.

Banded Carnelian Gordon and human Joshua: Gordon is a fat, bearded, one-armed gem with a ponytail, wearing a rounded visor over his eyes, a hoodie with stars on the ends of the drawstrings, sweatpants, and sneakers. His gem, located on his upper chest, is chipped. Joshua is a wide-eyed kid with floofy, spikey hair in a cowboy outfit with a star-shaped sheriff's badge and toy horse. There's a sketch of Joshua attempting to eat a worm, and another of Gordon looking very tired.

Blue Dumortierite Benrey: He resembles a quartz in uniform and body type, except shorter and wearing a hood. His left hand is hidden behind his back, but a callout drawing shows that there is a raindrop-shaped gem inserted sideways into the back of his hand.

Lapis Benrey: He is a fat gem with an undercut and bangs, and is wearing an outfit that resembles Lapis's, except with tights instead of a skirt. He is sitting cross-legged with his watery wings out, and is throwing a peace-sign, his gem now visible on his left hand and in it's original, flat position. Next to this is Benrey in his earth-outfit, consisting of a cap with a star decal on the side and ear flaps and a ponytail sticking out the back, a crop-top hoodie with a star-shaped open patch on the back, a translucent skirt, and open-toe tights. He's making a kissy face, and is posed with one foot kicked up behind him and a hand on his hip, the other hand flipping his cap ear flap like you would long hair.

Yellow Agate Tommy: He is a tall, lanky gem with hair styled resembling a mound atop his head with rings resembling the agate mineral, and is dressed like Holly Blue Agate with a high-collar, shawl, and high boots. He is standing attentively with his hands in the diamond pose. Beside that is a sketch of Tommy in an oversized Beach City Funland shirt and a propeller hat he'd won at the Funland. He touches the cap reverantly like he's just had a revelation from having fun for once in millenia and this is a turning point for him. Next to that is Tommy in his earth-outfit, consisting of a short puffy-sleeved top with 2 pompoms down the front, a bowtie, a cummerbund, and tights with shoes tipped with pompoms. Sunkist, a corrupted Pearl who resembles a large, masked bird, is lolling her tongue happily while she recieves some scritches from a smiling Tommy.

Corrupted Cream Pearl Sunkist: Originally, she is a Pearl with shoulder-length hair and a curl on her forehead and attire that resembles Pink Pearl's except with a translucent curtain around her shoulders instead. She stands with a foot pointed out in front of her like a ballerina, and her fingers interlocked before her chest. Next to it is a drawing of her corrupted, bird creature form. Additionally, there is a sketch of her after she is newly healed, touching her face in wonderment and tearing up. She now mostly looks like a Pearl, except with longer hair resembling wings, no nose, and an inverted "V" line across the middle of her face.

Green Quartz Dr Coomer: He is an old gem in Quartz uniform with a roundish moustache, a balding head and under-eye wrinkles. His weapon are two huge gauntlets, like Garnet's. A round gem resides on top of his forehead. On Earth, he wears a singlet with ripped edges around the armpits resembling a star-shape, and suspenders with star-shaped buckles. He flexes, showing off his bulging arm muscles.

Fusion-Zircon Bubby: He looks like an average Zircon, just slightly taller and much older, and with two monocles instead of one. His hair droops back in a triangle, and his boxy jacket has unbalanced shoulderpads with two jutting out from one shoulder and only one from the other, and a mis-matched number of line decal on his sleeves and pant legs. He also has heeled boots and a three-pointed hankerchief under his gem - a fusion of several shards of Zircon. He's posed with his head tilted up and hands on his hips. On Earth, he has a balding head with hair also angled in a triangle behind his head. He wears a tracksuit with a big star pattern front and centre. His sleeves and boots are mis-matched in lengths. /End ID.]

I WILL EXPLAIN I only changed Darnold's gem cut because I learned that Olivine is Peridot in mineral form and went oh👀?

Catharsis: Petrification

Phos!Reader x (Platonic) Geto Suguru and Mahito

Warnings: Mahito being Mahito and everything that entails, he calls reader petnames, Phos forgets a lot of things, angst, mentions and implications of child abuse and trauma, Mahito being weird (himself), heavy topics, reader feels safe around Mahito, the usual Catharsis warnings

Notes: Mahito haters, once again, beware💀

"How much longer will you sleep?" Mahito pondered, sticking his finger into your cheek. Your cursed technique, if it could be called that, was truly interesting.

After that fateful encounter with Yuji and Nobara, Mahito had taken you back to the beach, shocking everyone there. They were concerned, wondering what had happened and how it had happened. But that was nothing compared to their reaction when he pulled out the chunk of gold laced Lapis Lazuli you had created.

Before anyone could react, Mahito had placed the medium-sized stone against your neck, expecting something to happen. He, Hanami, Dagon, and Geto were the only ones truly invested, watching for any movements or any signs of life.

They were disappointed, however, when nothing had happened even after a good 5 minutes. It was when they were arguing about what to do with your body that alloy in arms started to bleed out of your neck, covering the expanse of the Lapis Lazuli.

They watched in awe (Mahito going so far as to video the event) when the alloy seemed to mould and melt the chunk of Lapis Lazuli into the shape of a head.

When it retreated back into your body, you were left with a fully functional head. It looked like you, but slightly older, with long dark blue hair and eye lashes sprinkled with specks of gold. The agate in your legs seemed to vanish, matching the solid colour of your skin.

It had been approximately a week since then. Due to his experiences with Mimiko and Nanako, not to mention how he was the most knowledgeable about your cursed technique, Geto was the one watching over you most of the time.

He frowned, thinking back to what you had said previously about memories. He had promised he'd protect you and that you'd never have to use this part of your Cursed Technique. But look what happened.

Unwanted flashbacks of a dark-haired girl clouded his mind, the sound of a gun clicking in his head. That was how Mahito had described it. The sound your head had made as it snapped off sounded like the sound of a gun being shot.

Geto shook his head, attempting to clear his thoughts. You reminded him so much of Mimiko and Nanako when he had first found them. Young, innocent, vulnerable, and plagued with pain at an age too young to deserve.

He couldn't help but wonder if he should introduce you to them during their break. They were at school and he wanted them to concentrate on their studies. He'd like to think that you'd get along well, however.

Nanako would help you get out of your shell while you and Mimiko had plenty in common already. You also liked crepes and sweets like they did. Nanako would be fond of our kind, honest nature while Mimiko would warm up to you in no time.

You were mature in a way beyond your years, but he was sure that Mimiko and Nanako would help you act more your age. Help you enjoy life more and perhaps distract you from your goals. You were simply a child who grew up too quickly, and perhaps being around Nanako and Mimiko, who acted like the embodiment of youth, would do you some good.

Somehow, Geto found himself unconsciously doing habits he had adapted from being around Mimiko and Nanako with you. Gently ruffling your hair, mending your clothes when they were torn, giving his opinion when you asked for it, helping you whenever you needed help. He found himself singing softly a couple of times while watching over you, as he did when Mimiko and Nanako were unwell.

You were a troubled child, and Geto found himself reliving his teenage years whenever he saw you, determined to make sure you did not end up the same way.

"Ah!" Mahito suddenly exclaimed, drawing Geto's attention to you.

Your eyelashes fluttered against your cheeks, face contorting as you began to awaken.

Your tired eyes fluttered open, revealing deep blue eyes in comparison to your previously teal ones. You immediately tried to sit up, hissing at the pain in your head.

"Careful." Geto scolded, gently guiding you up, hand on the small of your back.

"Ge- to - san?" You asked, voice raspy and ever so slightly deeper than usual.

"Yes, Y/n. How do you feel?" He asked, voice soft in order to not overwhelm you.

The group watched you, Jogo, Hanami, and Dagon, now having joined, as you sounded out your name, syllable by syllable.

"Is that... my name?" You asked, looking Geto in the eye.

Geto's heart dropped, eyes widening as he looked at you, everything you had told him about your cursed technique rushing through his brain. After losing such a large part of yourself, it made sense that you would have lost some of your memories.

"Yes, that's your name. Can you name me 5 things you can see?" He tested, taking note of blank look in your eyes, confusion evident on your features.

"Uhm, you, the beach," you paused, looking around, "the trees, Hanami, Mahito and... who is that?" You asked as your eyes landed on Jogo, the curse splutter. Geto looked at him, giving him a pointed look, making him stay silent.

"It's OK, don't try to force yourself to remember. Can you name me 4 things you can feel?"

"The chair I'm on, the sun on my skin, uhm, Mahito's hand on my arm, Mahito don't touch me,"

"I'm just happy you remember me!"

"Ah, the blanket that's on me."

"Good, good. 3 things you can hear?" Geto's voice was calm, and even as he tried to stay relaxed in order to not cause you to panic.

"Your... your voice, the waves, the birds."

"2 things you can smell."

"Salt and Iron."

"1 thing you can taste."

"Iron."

Geto's brows furrowed, hand moving to gently brush the hair out of your face.

Your eyes widened as you took note of the colour of your now long hair, yet you didn't seem surprised.

"Ah, I see." You suddenly muttered, attempting to get onto your feet.

You had some searching to do.

You found yourself on the path to your to your childhood home once again. Retracing the steps as you faced what parts of your past you could remember.

"This is where we first met! Isn't this romantic?" Mahito sighed dreamily.

You paused, taking in the scenery of the street as you tried to clear the fogginess in your brain. It had been a few days since you had awoken, and Geto had only let you leave on the condition that you took Mahito with you for protection.

You couldn't argue as you knew the gaps in your memory could prove dangerous. Your inability to remember certain names and faces plaguing you.

As you arrived at your childhood home, you felt a sense of deja vu. It was night as you walked in, leaving the lights off, Mahito following behind you.

You immediately went upstairs, a place you previously avoided due to the memories that lingered there. Specifically in your parents' room. The place you needed to go to the most.

Goosebumps immediately raised on your skin as you walked, hands feeling clammy as you inhaled sharply. The air seemed to turn icy, your hands trembling as you walked into the room.

The room that held some of the worst memories of your childhood.

You felt nauseous as you walked in, keeping your head down on instinct as you made your way toward the cupboard, where your parents kept all the important files. You shakily opened the cupboard, grabbing the box wordlessly.

You were fine, you'd be fine. They weren't here anymore. They wouldn't hurt you.

You felt a hand on your shoulder. You froze, eyes widening as your heart rate spikes, panic rushing through you. You immediately flinched away, turning around, back hitting the cupboard as you closed your eyes, holding the box up in front of you in defense.

No no no no you weren't supposed to be here, and you got caught. You were going to be punished. You were to hit or worse, you were going to be locked up in the punishment room and-

"Bunny? What's wrong? You're acting pathetic right now."

Mahito's voice brought you back, eyes snapping open.

You were panting, cold sweat covering your skin as Mahito crouched closely in front of you, watching you intently. His voice was playful, but his eyes were sharp and calculating, focused on your form.

"Mahito, it's you..." Your voice shook as you spoke, tone almost questioning.

"Who else would it be?" Mahito's tone deepened, expression going cold for a split second before it lit up again.

"Look at me, Bunny, there's no one else here but us!" Mahito opened his arms almost invitingly.

His words rang in your head. He was right. It was just you and him. No one was here to hurt you now.

As you looked up at Mahito, his eyes shone like ghost quartz in the moonlight. Beautiful eyes deadly to others, that always seemed to look upon you kindly.

Tears welled up in your eyes, a sigh of relief leaving your lips. As much as you hated to admit it, being around Mahito made you feel safe.

Before you could stop yourself, you found yourself leaning forward into Mahito's embrace, head hitting his shoulder as you repeated his words in your head over and over.

"There, there, Bunny, I've got you. I'll never let anything else touch what's mine."

As you left your childhood home, you were left to ponder.

Out of all things, why couldn't you have forgotten those God forsaken people who had brought you into this twisted world?

I’m back from my rock show! I got some Cool Rocks!

First, the agates.

Another Turkish stick agate to join my collection! I can't get enough of this stuff. These form as pseudomorphs of selenite. A bunch of criss-crossing selenite crystals grow inside an empty pocket in the rock, and then the space around them fills in with agate. Eventually, the selenite crystals dissolve, and the hollows they leave behind are also filled with agate, preserving a record of their shapes!

Bonus! This pair has a nice green fluorescence.

Here is another Turkish agate. (Almost all of today's agates are from Turkey; Turkey produces some beautiful agate specimens.) This one has a really interesting pattern to its banding.

I actually picked this one out for its fluorescence, which is a stunning bright green.

Also from Turkey! Growing inside a super cool crust of volcanic rhyolite, this agate is called sagenite. Sagenite agate has a fibrous appearance because it is a pseudomorph of a fibrous zeolite mineral.

The last two from Turkey: a pretty red specimen with a sparkly central vug, and a weirdo with squiggles of yellow. What’s going on with that guy?

This one is from China! The red and orange agates from this locale are called "Fighting Blood" agate. I already have a Fighting Blood in my collection, but I thought this one was neat because its vug is full of amethyst!

Here are some things which are not agate!

This one is a lead mineral called plumbogummite! Specifically, these crystals are a pseudomorph of another lead mineral called pyromorphite. Over time, the lime green pyromorphite crystals were slowly replaced by the tealy plumbogummite. In a few of the broken crystals, you can still see a green pyromorphite core!

Hyalite opal! This rock has been on my bucket list, I am so excited. This form of opal is known for its water-clear, jelly-like globule formations. Though typically a colorless mineral, this specimen is tinted yellow due to iron staining. It’s also a mineral famous for its bright fluorescence… but this specimen’s glow is utterly unimpressive. :c I will be on the lookout for a more glowy specimen at future shows. Honestly, I’m just happy to finally own some at all!

This year, I also got some high-end mineral specimens! Take a look at these beauties.

Roselite! This rare, toxic mineral is full of arsenic. If I ate it I would probably die! Roselite’s deep red color comes from the cobalt in its chemical structure, and makes it highly sought after by collectors. This specimen is showing off a well defined lenticular crystal habit! Again, I cannot overstress how rare this stuff is. I spent… an inadvisable amount of money on it.

Oh, the best and most sparkly boy. This is wulfenite! I have wanted a piece in my collection for so long, and I’ve been waiting for just the right specimen to come along. It's a lead mineral, and it forms the coolest square, tabular crystals! This mineral is extremely brittle, which makes large, intact crystals of it very hard to find. But check out the huge tabular crystal on the right side of this specimen, it’s bigger than my thumbnail!!

And finally, I could not resist buying something silly.

This is Tully. He's a plush Tully Monster, which is my state fossil!

So in the upcoming chapter of Horizons, "Terastal Debut", it seems Liko and co. will be attending Naranja Academy. But it seems Onyx, Agate, and Sango (or as the dub now calls them: Sidian, Chalce, and Coral respectively) will be attending the school as well. Chalce/Agate will be signing up to act as a teacher, while Onyx/Sidian and Sango/Coral are acting as students, since they're wearing student uniforms. Most likely, they want to get Tera Orbs themselves so that Amethio isn't the only one using Terastal. But it's quite interesting how Coral and Sidian are both acting as students while Chalce is acting as a teacher in the academy.

Onyx and Sango (or as I should say, Sidian and Coral) are pretty clearly a duo with each other and they pretty much always stick together. They seem to be the comic relief of the Explorers group and form a comedic duo with the contrast between them amplifying their dynamic for maximum comedic effect. Coral is a petty, short-tempered brat who easily loses her shit at even the pettiest of things, while Sidian is much more level-headed and serious to an almost extreme degree which complements her in a funny way.

These two really feel like the Jessie and James of the Explorers and Liko's story. Two troublemakers who everyone else in the organization sees as a nuisance and pain, play the comedic relief at times, and seem to be frequently in confrontation with the heroes and directly confront them in battle, although they're also a lot more competent than those two ever were. They tend to show up in contexts outside of the Explorers' missions and stir up comedic antics like Coral going after Wiglett sweets and getting mad about not getting any, and in this case there's clearly setup for them to have antics around Liko, Roy, and Dot as fellow classmates and students at Naranja Academy, and likely tension between them on equal levels as students. Maybe during their time here they'll end up battling each other in a formal school setting, like a tournament or something. Liko and Roy vs. Sidian and Coral in a Tag Battle once again. A recurring trend that they may keep up over the course of the show. They definitely feel like a more competent version of Jessie and James who despite being antagonists also have a comedic relief angle and will likely have the most personal relationship with Liko, Roy, and Dot over the course of the show. Well, aside from Amethio. Especially since as students and classmates of our heroes, they're interacting on a formally equal level here in this next chapter. They may start to have a close relationship with them that borders on the two frequently meeting and being weird frenemies who like-hate each other on a personal level.

Chalce (aka Agate) acting as a teacher on the other hand raises some interesting questions about her role in the Explorers group and in the story as a whole. This would imply that she's the most senior admin of the organization and has authority over the other admins. This was kind of hinted at as she was the leader of the operation to capture Rayquaza and in charge, giving Sidian and Coral orders to follow. She doesn't seem to have any particularly standout traits as an antagonist, and is very straightforward and calm, but has natural authority in the group, and acting as a teacher in Naranja Academy likely reinforces that. That said she seems to be little more than someone who is experienced at what she does and takes her job seriously, which is different from Spinel who clearly has his own motives outside of the group and admits to using them as a means to an end for his own self-gain.

Getting to see the rest of the Explorers admins in proper action as of late has shed more light on their characters, and I look forward to seeing how each segment of the Explorers continue to play a role in the story. We have a duo of troublemakers in Sidian and Coral (Onyx and Sango) who are sort of comic relief, a senior admin in Chalce (Agate) who takes her job seriously and has the most authority of the lot, a particularly selfish and evil one in Spinel who is trying to use the group for his own selfish motives, and Amethio is pretty unique in that he seems to have a personal growth arc and is the protagonist of his own story, while he hangs out with his two subordinates who keep him grounded. There's a lot of differences between these three and it will be interesting how their roles in the story and their relationships with each other and the Rising Volt Tacklers continues to change over the course of this show.

SPOILERS!!!

🐸 Citrine/Greed: Amusement. Pure chaotic amusement. Citrine sees humans as entertainment and as having their own advisor, Marcel, in the "show," which is like getting front-row seats to the Prince of Greed.

🐷 Topaz/Gluttony: As of right now, he would not like it at all; it goes completely against the rules, and while he doesn't have any ill intent towards Margaret, he would have to order her to stop the relationship, but that doesn't mean his mind can't be changed in the future, where Gluttony would be more lenient. But I honestly think the only way for him to completely support the couple is if the law is changed so demons can date mortals or the couple finds a loophole.

🐻 Agate/Wraith: Soooo mad I mean, Owen and Agate respect each other a lot, so Agate will/would feel betrayed by Owen for sure when he finds out that Owen was actually in love with the MC and not just sleeping around with them to get information (although that really isn't Owen's style) or to let off some steam.

🦊 Opal/Lust: Worry. Not only for Rosemary but for MC. Them being together would put the couple at risk. Opal likes Rosemary not only because she is a talented courtesan and retainer of her court but because she is quite like Opal's own daughter. She knows Rosemary's past and trauma. Plus, Opal wouldn't want to lose her to the dangers of the MC and Rosemary being together.

🦥 Beryl/Sloth: Lol, Sloth would not care! Honestly, she would fully support the couple. Sloth has known Tai for a very long time, and while it was great to tease him about getting with her niece/nephew/nibling a small part of her is happy; he found happiness. Beryl teasing Tai, be like...

"Maybe she/they/he will be able to remove that stick from your ass, huh?"

Tai groans. "My Lady, may we please get off the topic of my bottom and relationship?"

I don't know if you wanted me to do Envy because Zane is technically Haoss's servant, while Envy is Zane's father, so I will do both of them!

🐍Peridot/Envy: Happy for Zane! Not only has Zane found a healthy relationship with the MC, but his son is dating Laz's kid (his favorite brother), so he would be a big supporter. There will be a lot of gushing about their kids between Laz and Peridot.

⚫️ Pandemonium/Haoss:

Shadows cower in fear as a coldness seeps into the room.

He dares to betray me?

A smile itches across a figure of pure ancient magic that sucks the air out of the room.

Let the games begin.....
