Long af rant about Velvette's old design and character as I share my art of her :D
Pilot Velvette/ Og Velvette gives extreme babydoll harley quinn vibes, which is a stark contrast from how she ended up being in the show. I like to imagine that something extreme happened to her, like a horrible breakup or betrayal, and she went all crazy. This is the version of her we see in the pilot. The Voxtagram stories seemed to lean into this, depicting her as more immature, bratty, and murderous. She also depended more on Vox and Val like she saw them more as father figures than co-workers. (Just a thought.) However, as she adapted more to the landscape of hell she became the Velvette in the show; A fashion icon girlboss who is much more independent and while not serious, much more mature than her pilot counterpart, and even the other Vees. They ditched her psycho vibe to replace it with something that made more sense to her character.
Something that I personally wonder is: Why was Velvette like this in the beginning if she was meant to focus on fashion? A puffy Lolita dress goes against the Vees whole idea of being up to date, so what was the original vision for her? People have complained about Velvette already having too much going on for her, being both the overlord of fashion, master of social media, backbone of the vees, selling a love potion, etc. If those ideas were already there, did they just think a crazy serial killer girl would be even more extra clutter to her personality?
A concept many fans I've talked with is if the Vees personalities in the pilot stayed. Val would be pretty much the same, but the other two were almost different characters. In the Voxtagram stories, Vox let Val beat him around, had a goofy pet, and seemed to care less about his public image to remain more villainous. Velvette I already discussed was extremely different, the only thing connecting her to our Velvette is her connection with the Vees and fashion.  In this universe, would Velvette see Vox and Val as toxic dads who kept breaking up and getting back together again, instead of seeing them as equals and KEEPING THEM TOGETHER? it's a wild shift.
Essentially, Pilot Velvette acted more like a bratty little girl, while her show version acts more like a annoyed but controlling teen. We see her pilot look as her profile picture, so this 'phase' of hers is still canon. I know she already died as an adult, which is why I'm so curious as to why she originally acted this way. Did Viv think she would be a better contrast to Vox and Val like this? To be fair, a spoiled brat AND annoyed girlboss are both contrasts of their personalities, just two different approaches. Was their originally going to be a backstory for her as to why she was this way? or was she just crazy to BE manipulative? or you know, just liked murder while looking cute like Niffty. speaking of Niffty…
I think Niffty is the most likely reason why they changed Velvette's design and personality. we already have a little crazy girl who admires 2 men she sees as older figures and enjoys murder for mysterious reasons. It mightv'e seemed a little counter-intuitive if there was 2 versions of the same character stereotype. Another reason they could've changed her is that she stands out more. If we're supposed to take Velvette as an overlord seriously, how are we supposed to do that when she leans back on the other two guys and looks like she's from a horror movie? Sure, I'm positive pilot Velvette could've been intimidating at times when she got legitimately frightening. however, this didn't seem like her vibe 95% of the time. It might've made her blend more into the background of the Vees than she practically already does. (Which is just a problem for female Vivzie characters but that's a whole separate rant.)
A headcanon of mine is that this was just her psycho little girl brat phase, and she is hella embarrassed over it. like a teen being embarrassed over their phases of when they were a kid. and Vox and Val would constantly piss her off by reminding her of it. That could lead to some fun banter in the future I would love to see as a reference to the pilot.
Anyways, sorry for the literal Essay I wrote here again, just a ton of over-analyzing which I'm best at. Personally, I do vibe with Velvette's new design and character for the show, I just cant help but think of why she used to be so different and arguably had the BIGGEST character shift from pilot to show In Hazbin Hotel.

YOU WANNA KNOW ABOUT ENDORA FL? :3c I WILL DELIVER~
So I tend to ignore a lot of canon sometimes whenever I indulge in my silly thoughts and it's kinda ironic for me but… Let's say somehow Childe and Foul Legacy are separated beings later on in life, and FL is like Endora! A smol, floating lidol moth bebbi <3 ofc he can still shift forms to his huge scary og form but it's usually when he's fighting others :p
Imagine his dynamic with Childe… But most importantly imagine having this floating abysmal creechur being all softtt and chirping around you~ istg Childe would probably get jealous once or twice because of this constant attention FL is giving you.
The day you and Childe gave him a slice of lemon to lick or bite is the day he cannot trust either of you for such a sin, how dare you both trick him into doing this... Childe will suffer for laughing at him, but you might not suffer as much. /lh + j it's like giving a baby lemon and seeing the look on its face kJHDFV
There's so much FL concepts in my brain I'm extremely normal about Foul Legacy. cLEARLY-
- 🩹 Anon !
you 🤝 me being SO normal about Foul Legacy. y'all have to believe us we swear we're normal :)
now imagine, if you will, the first time Childe brings home this small, floating Foul Legacy. he tucks him in his shirt to hide him from everyone as he hurries home, still debating whether he should show Legacy to you at all- only for the Abyssal creature to poke his head out when he hears you call out, zooming towards the sound of your voice and crashing into your shoulder with a delighted chirp. Childe runs into the room and almost dies from embarrassment when he sees Foul Legacy snuggling in your arms, but you're overjoyed with your new fuzzy friend!! he loves following you around the house, either floating next to you or sitting on your shoulder, lightly messing with your hair and letting out adorable peeps and squeaks. Childe's a bit jealous really- better reassure him with a tight hug and some kisses <3
and YES, the fateful day you and Childe trick him into munching a slice of lemon will go down in your respective histories- Foul Legacy squeals and screeches in disgust, pawing at his tongue as dismayed whines slip from his maw. he glares at you, then Childe, and promptly flies over and buries his face in your hair to sulk, his little claws gripping the fabric of your shirt. you pat his back, letting out an apologetic laugh, but he simply huffs and refuses to look at either of you- he'll forgive YOU soon enough, because he loves you, but he can see Childe grinning mischievously, like he plans on giving him more lemons!!
Childe ends up with a few bites that day

Okay kinda tired cause of the day so might nap but, wanted to try and get an idea out.
SO, I kind of have the headcanon that the swaps (sans and papyrus) have some idea of the rests as both aren't a complete swap of each other, but more of a mix? So Papyrus gets more of an idea of resets, but Sans.. oh poor Sans only has deja vu constantly, maybe strong emotional flashes as well from triggers? Like, Swap sans knows that it's all been done before, but can never recall more than impressions like going fishing bare-handed.
So how does this tie into DustSwap Sans? Well, dude is kind of already losing his sense of reality when he snaps. Imagine feeling like all your interactions happened before multiple times, but having no idea of why. Your brother is constantly dogey/cagey of any concerns, and you feel like you already talked to your close friends about this feeling- but they dont remember. And it stacks up. It's not exactly a clean mental slate each reset, the deja vu gets worse and worse, and Swap Sans is losing his sense of self on if he already did something or if someone was already dead. He constantly ends up second guessing himself, or starts missing things he would normally do cause he thought he'd done it before.
He goes from this peppy, boisterous skeleton to a paranoid, jumpy lad who can barely tell what's actually going on anymore. And that can tie into your whole 'he SNAPPED' idea!!! Cause at some point, it was just too much, and him murdering everyone was the only actual thing that felt different.
also apologies if this doesn't work or if this is similar to something else-
That is actually wonderful, your thoughts are amazing, and thank you so much.
Wait no that's such interesting concepts??? Like genuinely super interesting??
Oof. I can imagine the inner turmoil of "i've felt this before why are the days merging i feel like i've done this what is happening." thing
Like. If you think about it- what if Swap doesn't always go through genocide routes? What if he doesn't always get that whole unnerving "oh fuck I feel like everyone's about to die" feeling?
What if he just snaps?
Because he feels like he knows what's going to happen. Every interaction with the kid is the same. And I feel like Swap is the type to get annoyed about the whole "i've reached the surface, woah, cool- and now we're back down underground again."
Deja Vu can do some pretty crazy things to people, I think. I feel like it could and would cause genuine psychological issues and incredible stress after constantly experiencing it
Hm. I wonder if Clutter (Dust!Swap) would have some sort of disassociative disorder? Maybe even DID. A way to get away from everything after killing everyone and a way to justify that guilt
Almost like how OG has his Papyrus- but Clutter has another person with him in his mind that whispers reassurances.
Your ideas are wonderful- thank you so much!
Also I hope you have a nice nap :]

JCS 2000 ALBUM LISTENING (thoughts)
Disclaimer: the only Jesus Christ Superstar I've ever heard before this is the original concept album.
Heaven on their minds: wow, the mixing sucks. Also Judas' voice is odd, sounds a bit weak.
What's the buzz? Strange thing, mystifying: damn, Jesus has a soft voice. I think I kinda like it. Otherwise the track feels somehow hurried and odd paced.
Everything's alright: the mixing is so horrible it's almost making me a hater. Also, the way the singing is flowing with the music feels weird compared to the original concept album (not just on this song but the other's as well).
Hosanna: hmm, this one feels a bit more pleasant to listen to. Whoever plays Caiaphas sounds kinda bussing.
Simon Zealotes / Poor Jerusalem: even the instrumental is poorly mixed. I like the choir singing. Simon has a nice voice too. As far, I feel like they casted the main trio (Jesus, Judas, Mary) a bit poorly but the rest quite well. The mixing is too “cinematic” aka some bits are just too silent.
Pilate's dream: too fucking silent. Singer sounds like mom said that we have opera at home.
The temple: this has some of my favourite lines for Jesus. It was very promising until we got there. Jesus wasn't upset enough. Should've screamed more angrily. (Oh boy, what will Gethsemane be with this…) Also, the end part of the song began too quietly once again, but it got better. Seriously, Jesus’ singer lacks aggression. He is great but it's lacking.
I don't know how to love him: honestly, at this point I'm probably just a hater, but they played it too safe with Mary.
Damn, they just skipped songs??? Where's Damned for all time / Blood money??? (This made me realise that there's songs missing from the beginning as well.)
The last supper: was the original this long as well? This feels oddly long. The Jesus & Judas argument is cool, except angry Jesus reminds me of the video where a man was screaming at yellow paint. Choir singing slaps though. Splendid.
Gethsemane: Oh no. The beginning is horrible. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PACING OF THE SINGING??????? I want to scream into a cardboard tube. The emotion is put in the wrong places. Sounds extremely hilarious. Man screams at yellow paint again. I feel like this was too pretentious and therefore failed to be the great masterpiece it should be.
King Herod's song: hell nahh what is this goofy ahh shit 💀💀💀 I never want to hear this again.
Could we start again, please?: What's this? I've never heard this song in my life. They decided to add this instead of the banger songs they cut out??? (Ok apparently this was in the og movie. I haven't seen it so I didn't know, but this track is lame.)
Judas’ death: promising start, nice amount of drama, but that's about it. The rest is meh. Honestly, I regret uninstalling subway surfers because this is boring.
Trial before Pilate: “so the king is once again my guest” but you cut out the part where he was his guest for the first time lol. I have to admit that Jesus’ vocals are pretty neat in this (rare). Also the mixing seems to have gotten a bit better as we're reaching the end, or maybe I've just gotten used to it…
Superstar: the intro goes hard. Vocals are surprisingly good for this album too.
Crucifixion: DJHSGSDHSHSGZ omg lollll what the fuck this is just so fucking miserable 😭
John nineteen: forty-one: it's an instrumental, they can't fuck it up, right?
I want back the 1 h 19 min I just wasted from my life.

What would you want out of a “Great Movie Ride” if it was just now being built? What movies would be included? What ride system?
I think it depends if we're talking about a world where it's a spiritual successor to the original or an entirely new concept with just the prompt "make a ride about great movies"
I'd probably want to include too many universal movies, because of how much the universal parks influenced me growing up, but also because of Spielberg. How do you make a true great movie ride post 1980s without Jurassic Park or ET. I'd also want to include back to the future, and Indy, and Star Wars...but you can start to see how the most popular movies that influenced me are all theme park attractions already.
I'm not really sure what the best approach to take for movie selection is. You have over a hundred years of cinema and at best 20 minutes to get through it, and probably closer to like 7 if this is a modern ride. Idk how you narrow that down to a handful of influential ones and even then getting the rights is a whole other problem with the amount of stakeholders involved. There's a reason the OG ride had such an interesting collection of films it focused on. Also there's the problem of are the most historically important films appropriate for a family ride? Lots of rated R stuff, lots of pretty heavy subject matter.
So I think if I were to do a GMR the first thing to figure out would be what you're trying to say about movies, what aspect you're focusing on, and what lens you're viewing them through. OG GMR focused on like "what fun adventures and cool places we can go" but you easily do something more serious like "look at the power for cultural change" or commercial "look how thrilling". That lens would help you determine the films to focus on.
Other big question is what kind of ride. Tbh I think the original formula was a pretty great approach...but it's also very unintuitive. Like it's a ride that heavily features live performance and almost no screens aside from the very last scene...and arguably a ride celebrating movies might heavily feature screens and cameras and recorded performances. A more obvious approach today might be something like the guardians ride but "movie surfers" - anyone remember that on the Disney channel?
I really appreciate though that the original abstracted the idea of movies, and abstracted the plot, into this thing that you never really questioned, cause like when you think about it...what the hell am I riding in? A soundstage? A tour into the movies? Who the hell is giving this tour? It's a fundamentally abstract presentational approach that gets around a lot of problems you might otherwise face.
But I'm also not sure if that slow-moving, ride past endlessly repeating scenes approach would entirely hold up today if brand new. I think the live acting portions and having a movie character take over your vehicle are the most inspired aspects, those absolutely hold up and if anything would actually be MORE revolutionary today than they were then with how rare spieling has become. It'd be hailed as a breakthrough in immersion if it happened today. I'd really love to lean into that idea. How much more could you do with it? I think one of the consequences of that live theatrical approach is it really does give the sense of "literally having stepped into a film". Which like...runaway railway also does quite successfully but ultimately as a cartoon.
Like tech has improved a lot since then, we have the ability to move vehicles much quicker, completely transform scene spaces. So if you had a character take over your ride vehicle, they could very easily literally drive your vehicle "off the track" and "into a different movie". What if there were more live actors representing other genres involved. More pathways to explore. Maybe it's great move rideS.
Idk so much to consider but I think my approach would be to try to keep the things about the attraction that were really innovative for the time, focus the thesis a bit more, and then try to do it a way that was a bit more engaging and slightly more thrilling for todays audiences.
Thank you for the ramble

subscorp for the ship meme?
teeheehee :)
002 | Send me a ship and I will tell you:
• When I started shipping them: hey did you guys know theres a chin tilt™ in the movie Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle Of The Realms (2021) that Ive seen this january of the year 2022
• My thoughts: I hate them so much. theyre perfect foils in almost every way you can think of. they have an extremely appealing enemies-to-friends arc. in fact they tick most of the enemies-to-friends-to-lovers dynamics in one way or another, in one incarnation or another. with the multiple timelines deal you can even sprinkle a little bit of soulmates trope in there. you cannot have one without the other in the general consciousness. theyre perfect opposites and so similar at the same time. their shared storyline is Romantic with a capital R, with its fair share of drama, revelations, guilt, duty, honor, and conflicted feelings, two assassin clans alike in dignity, in fair earthrealm where we lay our scene. theyre LITERALLY fire and ice and everything about them just bring you back to that point. AND theyre both stupid pretty on top of that.
• What makes me happy about them: they were grown in a lab for 30 years to appeal to me personally💙💛 literally tick every single boxes
• What makes me sad about them: if they werent two guys they wouldve been canon ages ago and you know it
• Things done in fanfic that annoys me: mischaracterization in favor of the author's personal fantasies, usually sexual. Sucks so much when a good fic or a good concept gets ruined by them being OOC during (sometimes uneeded) sexy times. I know thats like, 90% of the fics on AO3 but still, lemme mourn.
• Things I look for in fanfic: if we're going Legends or OG timeline, you can never go wrong with a good old devoted protector scorpion. If we're going current timeline, oooh babey gimme that grandmasters middle age mutual pining, sometimes keeping things simple is where its at.
• My wishlist: so fun fact, most of my wishlist already kinda happened, thanks snowblind but literally everything before it. So I guess I would really just like to see the two of them interact in a casual setting for once, see how theyd normally interact. Second would be cuddles and kisses ofc.
• Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Im a subsmoke enjoyer but ONLY in a tragic doomed teenage romance kinda way, two boy best friends in an extremely restrictive environment that forbid close bonds let alone intimate, come on. Other than that... kuai has stupid chemistry with a lot of characters but in the actual story i dont see a lot of potential candidates. As for hanzo, I like him with harumi ngl, if he manages to get his family back good for him, but just like kuai, the ninjas are pretty isolated otherwise and have the closest narrative bond with each other so if not with the other well I dont think Id see it :/
• My happily ever after for them: Legends/OG timelime wise, scorpy continues to play guardian angel with benefits while kuai gives him a purpose, current timeline is the two grandmasters accidentaly making their clans more and more alike due to them sharing a similar mindset, which could perhaps eventually end with them reuniting the clans as it once was, as joint grandmasters wink wink. but my personal favorite is the mk9 sub zero ending where both of them "disappear together into legends" and are just living together in a little house in the middle of nowhere when theyre not avenging the innocents. and disappear even more into legends when they both get to the netherrealm killing the shit out of everything in sight there.

Omg you have warrior u oc’s ?! Please tell me about them!
I've been in the fandom for a hot minute and a half, so I got a few and they break into two generations lmao.
1st Generation (2013-2014) Made for funsies.
2nd Generation (Present) Made for the future issue we're working on.
It's kinda hard to talk about the 2nd Gen ones without spoiling too much, so I'll just stick to stuff that's irrelevant or not covered in the draft??? They'll be at the bottom, so feel free to dip out of the post if you don't want spoilers.
With that said....
*Inhales*
Gen 1 OCs
Tumblr media
Ophilia - Y'know how almost everyone had some fem unicorn/pegasus to ship with Hevvin lmao; uhh this one was mine. She's less of a character and more like a concept. I liked the idea of a counterpart to Hevvin's 'magical creature killing things on purpose' with a 'magical creature killing things on accident'. She's supposed to be a clydesdale like pegasus that was also poisonous to the touch. She was used to being hunted for her feathers, and was supposed to have long fur/hair. But like really hated humans because they wanted her magic to hurt each other; made no sense for her to have a human disguise, but eh. Also I was an inexpirienced artist, so I made her super skinny/tall like all my other drawings, but really she should have been BUFF. I never gave her a concrete personality and was too nervous to do anything other than use her as a dress-up doll for different outfits that would fit the aesthetic. In hindsight she doesn't really fit in the world (Aisha denounced pegasus existing, and Hevvin's human form is canonically from one of Leenan's lost spells soooooo) but I still like the idea of a character that was poisous to the touch. Ended up finding a VN series that scratched that itch, so I officially retired her. She did make a cameo in my fic Plain Gold Ring as one of the monsters Emet ran into on her adventures. This is what she'd look like if I made her now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JD (Can't find his full name, my gut says Jasmine Diane???)- Made for my fic Plain Gold Ring as a travel campanion for Emet and Rhodri (because there's no one else in the comic their age lmao). I knew I wanted a 'neutral' party for them to talk to so they weren't always talking to each other. He's the youngest of seven brothers, I think he was 11??? (him and his brothers all were given girl names by their stubborn mom who thought naming the baby before birth would give her a girl). He's a very meek and gullible person and a grain farmer; the kind of kid Rhodri usually scams. A pushover toatie made sense for an added member to the squad, so I had Rhod drag him along and they made him do all the stuff they didn't want to do. He ended up being a fairly practical and chill person as the story progressed, whose biggest flaw was not speaking up. He used the adventure to step up in the world and act as a merchant (so he sells all the treasures and junk Emet finds overseas and doesn't like.) With the happily ever after being them forming an adventure/merchant guild. I seem to remember submitting him to the OG tumblr for review (I can't remember why) but he got artist approved!  I snuck him into the background of pg 28 of Ambrosia since we needed people in the streets according to the thumbs [that by no means makes him canon, it's more an easter egg than anything else]. I still really like him and the idea of his fam from a worldbuilding standpoint, though I have 0 plans for him. I may go back and revise Plain Gold Ring, if so, he'd get developed further.

Gen 2 OCs (Spoiler Reduced)
Belladonna Ashenburrow (sp?) Age 13 and a half
Tumblr media
Biological daughter of Freya Ashenburrow and her 1st husband (supposedly), but not the oldest of Finn's cousins. She enjoys studying ediquette/customs of other cultures, making tea pastries and torturing her step sisters's tutors until they quit. Permenantly housebound, Bella is determined to get married first and be a celebrated nobel lady to spite her family (not that she's made any progress thus far). She is first in line to inherit the family home as the only descendent that is blood related to the Ashenburrows AND holds a noble title AND willing to marry any noble her family picks out. No one in the family is happy about this. Her mother and father are deceased and her step father is always away at work as a woodsman. She refers to everyone in her family by cutsey nickname versions of their names with exception of her grandfather (Papa) and her step father (Mother's Second husband). Her aunt and grandmother try to pretend she's not in the house. (She is LOOSELY inspired by the tale of Cinderella, in that she has step-sisters and an akward family)
Rosaline Ashenburrow Age 15
Tumblr media
Technically the eldest of Finn's cousins, she entered the family through her father's second marriage (and as such is not a blood-realitive). Despite that, she was very close with her cursed step-mother and was her unofficial favorite child. Her favorite story from her step-mother was how marrying her father made it feel like the curse was gone, that true love isn't the first love you find, but the one you build through hard work. She wears Freya's old dresses to feel close to her again, though they are extremely dated. Still, she struggles with adapting to the expectations of noble ladies and often falls short of her aunt's expectations. Rose enjoys gardening and has an interest in white witchcraft, but is too scared to pursue it in the home given past events. She discovered of Leenan's existance after her suitor accidently triggered an old hex Leenan had left behind. (He got turned into a bear mid proposal; he's kinda stuck as a bear until further notice). She's inspired by Rose Red from "Snow White and Rose Red".
Clarice Ashenburrow Age 5
Tumblr media
Fairytale rules state there's always 2 step sisters; so I thought it'd be interesting to have one be older and one be younger. When she talks, it's in test bubbles with layered crayon/pencil dialogue to replicate how young kids have rapid/repeating speech. She's extremely hyperactive and has grown up in the Ashenburrow home realively unsuppervised (she has Rose, but Rose gets busy with lessons and other things). She's quite the terror, but when she's older she'll focus her energy into playing piano instead of tearing the house apart. She also has a habit of biting people when she's upset. She doesn't remember her mother at all or Freya and often tries to get Senna and her grandmother's attention by missbehaving (it rarely works). I wouldn't say she's a brat, more like an unchecked ball of chaos. She actually adores her older sisters (and her cousin once they meet); but no one has time to play with her 🙁 Inspired by Bell's younger sister in Beauty and the Beast. Fun fact, the disney animation removed her character from the final draft of the movie to make Bell seem more isolated/lonely in town.
I keep flipflopping on whether she should be Bella's step sister or half sister. Step sister would be more traditional and secure Bella's role as heir, buuut half sister would mean Rose could have been raised by Freya for longer and raise the stakes of competition in the house. Either way, she'd be treated the same in the issue she appears.
Senna Ashenburrow Age 37
Tumblr media
Not technically an OC, but she doesn't really appear in the formspring or in WUPurgatory; so her personality was concocted by me and Coffee. She's Leenan's elder sister, and the fact Coffee calls her Finn's "wine aunt" makes me laugh because I associate her behavior with my boomer grandparents lmao. Definately a functional alcoholic though, but an ideal duchess (ediquette is on point, dresses immaculate, socialable with all the right people, etc.) She has a "close friend" *cough*wife*cough* whom she's been with since they were 22. She figured she could avoid the pressures of an arranged marriage by supporting one of her sisters; and in return get left alone. Freya seemed like the safer bet (unfortunately she had all girls!) and now is stuck training her nieces on how to care for the duchey. She's been pushing Rose to take control, because she thinks Rose would be inclined to let her do whatever she wants. Until then, she stuck waiting for her parents to pass, but they're stubborn and in good health.
She HATES kids and is mostly taking care of them out of a sense of duty. She's not wicked/abusive, just emotionally constipated and uncomfortable around young people.

1 AM Brother Dear Sesh
In true love, you choose not to count the demerits and detentions; even when you can easily afford to do so.
My baby brother called me at an odd hour while I'm hyper-focusing on time-bound tasks in time for YE 2023. Since my social calendar is quite loaded until January Week 1 or 2, I timed myself to down this baby dragon EOD, Friday.
Since my phone is usually on sleep mode when I'm doing important and urgent stuff, I almost missed his call. He asked me how I was and where I was, too. Told him I'm home. He paused and took a really deep breath. I asked if he's having anxiety or panic attack. He told me that he's okay, but the sister of his MIL expired. I can't believe what I heard because I'm still grieving the loss of soul sis' MIL that coincided with this year's Immaculate Conception. Since mother dragon is Marian, too, I'm dumbfounded, honestly. No triggers but there's a hollow pain that hits hard. I tried finding peace by reminding myself that death is friend everyone should welcome.
Baby bro asked if I heard his news. I said yes. I asked about the details but just the top line ones. I asked what help he needed. He said that it's fine and that he's got it. His voice was shaky but determined. I asked again. His reply didn't budge. He asked if I can come visit once the arrangements are in order. I kidded him that I'd most likely be up all night to down work stuff. LOL. He assured me that it's okay. I told him that I'd be there, of course.
Dad went back to Manila house and called me up to remind me that we're going to the wake. I almost forgot that we'd have to go and support my brother during this trying times. Dad egged me saying that it's fine if I don't go because work is life. LOL. Ano ba naman ang pag-drive niya on a Friday back to Manila to pick up the passenger princess me, 'di ba? Maliit na bagay. LOL. I told him that I'd come and that honestly, I didn't notice the time passed today.
When he arrived, he asked if I could cook fried rice for him to go with his legit Laguna pasalubong, fried white tilapia. I actually don't want to get up and do this bit, but, I've seen dad in a wonky emotional state that's so surprising because he's always chill and go with the flow. I even added more rice so that he can indulge a bit more than my usual portions for him due to his weakening knee and his overgrown paunch. As he downed the fried rice, he said that it kind of reminds him of North Park fried rice. I laughed out loud and told him that I don't have a wok so the flavors are not as popping as the North Park OG version. Of course, he bashed me again. He asked me to join him for dinner but I already got my go-to pampagana sa deadline -- Serenitea trio + 1L pearl milktea (kakataho ko lang kasi the past days), 50% sugar, less ice. I watched him finish his food and off we went to the wake.
I saw my brother stepping up even when he's wobbly inside out. He has sleeping problems on top of looking after his almost newborn son. However, over vape, he shared that he was promoted. And I told him that my specific prayer for his interview with another company is simple: May he get the job he deserves especially at this time. Raising two kids ain't a joke. I even added na sana, macover na gatas atbp nung bunso niya para 'di na ako maabala. LOL. Poof. He was rejected by company B and bagged an overdue promotion. No merit increase yet, but, I'm trying to train him to negotiate with empathy at the core. He's proud of this milestone and I can sense and see how much validation he felt after the rejection in his latest job interview.
I told him to wiggle a decent pay bump and I am willing to sit with the panel or the HR to lobby this. LOL. Of course, he said no way. I pushed a bit more and said that it's about time he levels up his game not only RPG-speaking, but IRL, too. He also shared details of his personal life updates. I listened and ask some questions. I guess, this is me choosing to be kind rather than to be right; even when it's so easy to bash him straight up. I tried being a bit gentler even when I want to whack him right on the face, too. This ain't easy because I am my brother's wicked keeper since 1989. He asked me if I was in my element and why the hell am I not raising an eyebrow. I told him that it was just a long day and a hard night. He seems weirded out, too.
He also shared details of his fatherhood era. I can't still fathom how I'd be able to swing a formula milk that's hypoallergenic. LOL. I asked him if my pamangkin would like a Samba or formula milk. He said that he's going for the milk. I chuckled and asked if he was super sure. He said yes. He also shared that he has already computed th cost of raising two kids until college. Natawa ako e. But, let this be a reminder that while my brother is flawed and we're opposites, he is trying his best to step up.
Perhaps, I am seeing glimmers of intention. Perhaps, I'm finally sensing a stronger sense of giving more and taking less. Perhaps, it's him living his dream (to have kids and get married) along with battling its harsh realities and shadows. Perhaps, mother dragon's fervent prayer for him is finally being answered. Perhaps, this is me seeing his light, in a more forgiving angle. Maybe, a little flattering, too.
While I am full on tough love to my only brother, now, may I choose to be his partner instead of his pulis pangkalawakan. As I am keying this in, I am taking deeper breaths. This is not gonna be easy, but, seeing him emerge with growth sprouts is a milestone. Nadali tayo ng correct answer na hindi Samba for the holidaze ni bunso niya.
I'll be back to my work drawing board in a bit. Excited to finish it off, honestly; but time is always a construct and a constraint. Being the go-to elder sister of the universe and saying no more and more is something I'm learning on training wheels. I know this is gonna be tough but I'm ready for the pivot. LUH. Tapang 'yan? LELS. Or baka excited lang ako sa catch up sesh na sobrang tagal planned and 'di na talaga puwede put on hold this Saturday!

Thoughts on GMMTV 2024 Part 1, or my future reference:
Will probably watch
Pluto, On Sale
Will wait to see the final trailer
The Trainee, Ossan's Love Thailand, My Golden Blood, High School Frenemy, My Love Mix Up
Intrigued by the cast but likely won't watch
Kidnap, Ploy's Yearbook
Not for me
The Interest, Wanadee Gooday, Enigma 2
Absolutely no thoughts
My Precious, We Are, Only Boo, Summer Night
Trailer thoughts below
The Interest: like with the OG trailer, the aesthetics appeal to me, tho since the debt collector/debtor romance is still the main draw, it's a pass.
My Precious: I zoned out really quickly during this one, no thoughts. Also, isn't this the same drama that was supposed to air almost TWO YEARS AGO?! girl, what happened? the cast is slightly different, which I assume is partially why it was in purgatory, but I remember it from gmmtv 2022. And I had no thoughts about it back then either.
Ploy's Yearbook: I like the cast, I like the concept of multiple girls in the same class sharing the same name. But other than that, no thoughts currently.
We Are: I was a bit worried at this point bc once again, no thoughts.
The Trainee: this one seems like it could be a lot of fun. Having Gun as the lead never hurts. I'm also always happy to see Kapook. Since it's a workplace romance in an interesting workplace, I really hope that they don't cheap out with showing them actually working. A lot of workplace dramas treat the job as just set dressing. If you're lucky you'll get to see the main character working for 10 real life minutes on a PowerPoint presentation you'll never get to see or even know the topic it's about. Since it's a job in the creative field, I really hope they go the extra mile with the workplace setting. For that reason, I'll wait to see the final trailer.
Only Boo: back to no thoughts
Pluto: ladies. we've made it. we're here. where is "here?" Well, honestly, I'm not sure. The plot was a bit confusing, but we are in fact... here. But really, I'm so excited for this one. Namtan AND Kapook? in a GL??? It must be my birthday. They're in separate couples, but still! and with Film and Ciize at that! Can't wait, I really hope it's good.
On Sale: genuinely excited for this. it seems like it'll be a lot of fun. Also, I really look forward to seeing Tay play a character that acts Like That lol.
Ossan's Love: didn't expect to see actors from the OG drama doing the announcement for this and genuinely was not expecting to to get a new season announcement for OG Ossan's Love in a video that's supposed to be announcing the Thai remake LOL. well I'm excited for that. As for the remake, I will wait and see. It seems EarthMix are going to play the leads. Truthfully, I can't really see them playing either Haruta or Maki (unclear who is who, but I can't see it either way). But hey, who knows. Ossan's Love has such a distinct character and identity, I'm curious to see how they'll adapt it.
My Golden Blood: The guy has special blood that's irresistible to vampires? It's giving Twilight. but it has vampires so....I have to at least consider it lol. Since it's a supernatural show, I'll need to wait and see the final trailer to see how they handle it.
Kidnap: as always Ohm's charisma has me considering a drama longer than I normally would, but it'll probably be a pass for me.
Summer Night: one thought. just one. what was that accidental kiss at the beginning for lol? it'd be weird for it to be bait since they do have an actual m/m couple in the drama so? who amongst us has never run into someone in the hall, knocked them over, accidently kissed them, and then immediately befriended only to end up in a love triangle with them and your secret girlfriend?
Wanadee Gooday:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't think that's how that works
Tumblr media
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN LMAO
High School Frenemy: The vibe was pretty distinct and stood out a lot. Even amongst GMMTV's lineups of "darker shows," it feels really different. This is borderline in "Will watch," but I want to see how the final cut looks in the trailer before I can say for sure if I'll watch. They seem on the right track tho. Genuinely in shock that I unintentionally guessed it's an adaptation/remake of School 2013 which I made a post about:
Tumblr media
My Love Mix Up: interested to see Gemini and Fourth in these roles. I think Gemini will make a REALLY solid Ida, esp if they keep fairly close to the manga. I really do hope that they keep the original light and heavily comedic/goofy tone and don't inject random unnecessary drama. And I hope Fourth can go all out with the silly expressions and physical comedy. But so far, with regard to the trailer, the tone and energy of the original wasn't really there. It didn't really feel like it was adapting kieta hatsukoi but moreso a completely different story with a completely different vibe. Tho I'm still really curious to see how this one turns out.
Enigma 2: made me remember I still need to get around to watching season 1. since it's October, I'll try to get around to it soon. other than that ofc I have no thoughts
A little dry this year, but there's a couple that I'm pretty excited for! No idea what the theme was for this year, and maybe that's a good thing lol. It's always a fun time watching these trailers though, and its always fun to look back and see how many of the dramas I said I looked forward to either didn't come out that year or I just didn't watch or enjoy lol. I'll do better on the part that I have control of and watch them when they air unless I really don't vibe with it. Looking forward to Part 2. Whenever that is lol.

These interviews were amazing! It's about an hour long - highlights from the podcast under the cut:
Gina
The COVID readthrough had to be done in little anti-rooms, and Noah was able to work with everyone's voices really well. The script made it clear that they couldn't go backwards and the show was very forward-looking.
She worried people wouldn't accept Sophie without Nate, because Sophie's story and identity were so wrapped up with Nate. (She brings up "Nophie" fans which omg takes me back.) She feels blessed that people have accepted Sophie as a character without Nate.
She loves saying "Let's go steal..." because it makes her, Beth, and Christian so happy!
Sophie becoming a mastermind was done very subtly and slowly over the season, which helped Gina find the character again. Sophie doesn't start to thrive until the second half.
The podcaster sees Sophie as much more "maternal" in Redemption (which I personally think is because Sophie's a little older and not flirting as much as she was in the og series). Gina sees Sophie as very maternal in the og series - toward Parker specifically and also Hardison, particularly because Aldis was so young back then. She made a conscious decision to not go down that route with Parker again because of all the time that has passed - it was very important to Gina that Sophie never condescend to Parker, especially since Parker has been in charge of an international crew for years.
^ Because of this, Gina calls the Breanna character a "godsend" because it gives Sophie somewhere to express the maternal energy.
She says she's super proud of what Aldis has achieved, though she misses playing maternal with him as well.
She keeps referring to Sophie as herself and has a little moment in the middle where she says she's having trouble distinguishing, which is super cute.
Gina loves Parker's mentor arc. She and Beth like doing little physical bits together. The actors get food on set and think out how far into the food the characters are - the writers trust them, which is unusual and feels like a privilege because often productions don't let them change the words.
"There are no trumpets in Leverage as far as the story arcs. There are just little beats here and there, and I feel very lucky to play that stuff."
The actors improv-ved a lot more because there was no writers' room and no writers on set because of COVID. (The original show always had the writer on set.)
Gina screamed and "jumped up and down like a Beatles fan" when she got the call that they were thinking about getting the gang back together. She knew the fans were still into it after so many years but hadn't heard any murmurings before she got the news.
She always saw Leverage as a family show and didn't necessarily think it was on early enough for families during its original run. She says that we're watching shows much more cross-generationally because of the pandemic, and she thinks Redemption on the platform it is now is much more conducive to that.
There were 15 people on Gina's whole flight to the US because of the pandemic. It was lonely shooting in New Orleans because they were so isolated for COVID (and she goes into the regulations they had on set to keep people safe).
She tried to play Sophie's grief in a way that was not all-consuming. She sees Sophie as someone trying to find her new place in the world and redefine her life.
The podcaster sees Nate's death for Sophie as one of the sacrifices of being a con artist, that you can have love but it's short-lived. Gina likes that concept, because everyone on the crew is a likable rogue, but they also spent many years working in isolation with very high stakes.
Christian
Christian found out about Leverage: Redemption when Dean told him to stop cutting his hair when he was working on Almost Paradise in the Philippines.
First career stories! He learned guitar for a role so that he could sing for his first acting role he earned. The song he sang was "Fast Car".
"I started my music career and my acting career on the very same day."
"[Acting] was the only thing I could do." He has nightmares about never coming to LA for his career.
He was a wrestler out of Oklahoma, and there wasn't much to do in his town. Fighting was one of them. He wanted to be Steve McQueen and do his own fights.
"Let's be honest. I'm getting older...[fighting] is a dance. It's a dance that two people have to do really really well."
He was allowed to do his own fights on Angel because he was expendable. If he got hurt, they'd kill him off.
Choreographing fights during the pandemic meant everyone was tested 3 times a week. Dean Devlin bought their own setup so that they wouldn't make the health industry in Louisiana lag. He got COVID in December, but no one else on the set got COVID. It was an okay situation, but he felt like he let Dean down. They wore masks during choreography as well.
They couldn't cook because of COVID - otherwise Gina would have had Christian's sandwiches back in her life.
They're going to bring back Kane's Kitchen!
He's competing with Freddy Prinze Jr over whose food can reach the most people.
He talks about the difference between California Mexican food and Tex-Mex.
New music coming out! He's been writing music. There's a cute joke where he talks about not being that old but he and his friends are playing dads.
He misses playing music for charity in London. It's hard to book gigs right now because of COVID. Gina misses Christian playing gigs while they were filming.
Discussion about challenges in the music industry and Christian's particular intersection with acting/country/rock. He talks about how much he loves Kaniacs! <3
Eliot's the one constant coming back to the show. Everyone else has new outfits. He says there is no road to redemption for Eliot, which seems to make it sound like they're sticking to the "at equilibrium with being damned" character track they were on before.
"Everyone's a thief, a hacker...we forget that Eliot's almost a serial killer...he's probably going to be the one who keeps doing this for the rest of his life, and he's never going to find redemption." He talks about how there are good moments with Noah about this...how it's suggested Eliot's finding redemption by helping other people find their redemption.
"We want people to feel comfortable. We want them to feel like these are the same people you grew up with in your home. We also want to be new and flashy and fresh."
He mentions how great The Bucket Job is and how great having Beth direct was!
"The fans are what made this happen. It wasn't us...[the fans] kept going all these years."

What’s your favorite tohs song ?
Oh, the fatal question! I could not tell you, but I can say my top from each album, and why a few oddballs may have been my favorites at certain times.
Eponymous Album: I think I underrate this album so much, and honestly going back and thinking about these songs has me longing to go listen to the live versions again. Honestly, out of all the albums, this one was the hardest for me to pick my favorite, and it kinda ties between "Lay Me Down," and "Cold is the Night," and the only reason "Trees" isn't also vying with them is because I just want there to be more of it.
The fact that "Second Child, Restless Child" echoes concepts in "Lay Me Down" hits me every single time and I love it so much for that reason alone. It speaks to my experience as a curious, energetic child stuck in church when I was little, and the feeling of being driven away from a place because you deeply believe the word isn't how people around you say it is?? Slaps. (I may or may not be having full song analysis thoughts about that now, h e l p)
As for "Cold is the Night," see: take away this apathy / and bury it before it buries me. Need I say more? The lyrics in that one are also just. Hauntingly evocative. They feel like a lullaby sung by a knowing older self to a younger one. Or vice versa? Just thinking about "bitter is the thought of all that time / spent searching for something I'll never find" and *reminiscing on loss of faith noises*
Through the Deep, Dark Valley (TTDDV): I love so many of the songs in this album, obviously. Mostly the first 3 and the last 4. However, I can say that (partially due to my love of niche live performances) my true fave is the combo set of "The Truth Is a Cave" running into "Valley (Reprise)." Nothing like it. Sublime. Heart-threatening. Makes you wanna jump off of something like a big box speaker and throw a tambourine straight at someone's head.
Dear Wormwood: This album deserves the hype it gets, really and truly. If I want to go really nostalgic, I can listen to it all through and have the full experience of human emotion. However, the two songs from it that Really captured my heart are "This Will End" and "Thus Always to Tyrants."
"This Will End" is just.... I don't cry a lot. Almost never. But I would happy cry if I got to see that song played live. I know it. "Thus Always to Tyrants" is the song that makes me channel Maggie's Pickathon energy and dance barefoot on any available surface.
Notos: (my beloved) "Constellations" was the song that Got Me Into The Oh Hellos. I owe that song my life. That at "On the Mountain Tall." I was having a relapse into LOTR phase and I think I listened to those two songs almost exclusively for at least a week. They were my favorite songs for a solid month.
Eurus: Eurus, from Eurus. The OG. The song that got me Really into the Oh Hellos. That made me stop and go: oh Word? Passerine gets a shoutout for being my blog title and also for the METAPHOR??? Like Maggie and Tyler did Not mince words and I love them forever for that. They really said we're gonna roast prosperity gospel & harmful theology and we will take no prisoners.
Boreas: Like the above, Boreas, from Boreas. But only for the period of time before the rest of the album came out. This song gets a shoutout for being my Most Listened To Song from 2020 even though it came out like halfway through the year. I listened to that song non-stop for like three days, and then burned myself out enough that I couldn't listen to it again for about a month and half. The other song I really love from that album is "Cold," which I went feral enough over that I wrote my first lyrics analysis post about it! (Lapis Lazuli slaps too, but everyone knows that)
Zephyrus: Ahhh my white whale of an album. My favorite color. The season of my soul's aesthetic. This album was so different. So spicy and delightful. I pulled a Boreas-Boreas with "Soap", and now I find it too sweet to listen to often. I think of it quite fondly though. My favorite song from this album is, without a doubt, Rio Grande. It feels like an adventure song, which I adore so much. I think my first 5 listens gave me at least a year of my life back. I have (1) draft on tumblr and it's my 6 paragraph unfinished analysis of that song.

Extras are literally just that, an extra to something, in this case an extra person, in almost every production the extras are there to be on the background scene, it's really weird when the extras are actively participating on a scene unless they are booked for something specific, that means any extra has actual background or context of what's going on, on the bigger picture, specially since they don't film in order, then extras normally get an specific place we're they have to be or a position (this could be giving the back to the actual scene), since they aren't actually in the scene participating plus there's always the distance between the actual actors scene the cameras+crew and the extras, since the cameras have to be focused on the scenes and the equipment or crew could be big or moving, most times extras aren't close to the scenes, you can see this all the time on Wtfock, for example the central scene happens on a bench and you can see there's more people around but they aren't that close soooo extras can't always heard exactly what's said, now the extras are normally separated from the actors or crew and equipment between takes... I can go on but on summary as you all can read extras info is not likely to be accurate at all and this doesn't make them liars, some people are lucky to heard or seen some stuff or knows and gets easily (in this case) og references and that's why they do theories about it.
Now since the beginning has been stablish that this blog is a collection of all those theories into one big one trying to put stuff together, sometimes including the owner of this blog theories into it or the info people collect following actors an crew and movement and sometimes Info of their connects, that "connects" info until now has been reliable and I think out of common sense that the connects info is not all the time clear and more like little crumbs because why In the world they would spoil the actual script? Anyways...
One big example about how everything is on pieces and depends on the extra pov and knowledge for me is another extra, she told she saw a big sub-plot and Sobbe is not part of it but this same extra haven't seen the OG so ofc what happens on that scene seems to be super big, me that I know OG and saw that scene been filmed too knew what that was about and why Sobbe not been involved doesn't mean they aren't part of a sub-plot, another one clearly...and this doesn't mean she's lying this just means any extra have the whole picture and context of everything.
Sometimes on some productions not even actors get the whole picture or context for example on GOT the actors received the script only with their lines (specially on last seasons) so they didn't knew until later on the reading tables or if was necessary what was something about.
So why you all people keep coming to attack? Don't you understand what a theory is? Or even a spoiler? Go and google it!! And if you don't like it or you don't agree or you still don't understand then just go? Stop coming to read if you're not actually interested on this blog concept.
Anons I love all of you so much right now!!!! This anon popped off. They giving you facts, explanation, real time accounts. Also thank you for defending the extras because they are a huge part of the blog as are the insta community like no one is lying no one is driving for clout. It’s literally everyone pouring out the contents of their backpack on the table to sort through what they have. We don’t discuss the actors personally it’s just about piecing together plot. There is no need to be so damn aggressive. Like relax.......like last anon said the whole season is done in 7 weeks and filming wraps this weekend. Like just chill out with the constant hate and aggression.
