i love that our options this election are likely going to be; old white dude who loves big business, hates minorities, and loves doing genocidal imperialism vs guy who is all of that + works for a party that intends to strip all minorities of legal rights and protections with a 180 day action plan. i love dying and being dead. i love america.

man if you're voting for biden just to vote against trump, just say that. we have got to get over this harm reduction shit when what we really mean is harm reduced for us, me, mr american and literally nobody else on this bitch of an earth. if the only and most emphasized thing we do to reduce the harm our president and their platform does to the living is vote, we are reducing nothing. for anyone or ourselves, because voting alone doesn't challenge the trajectory of anything. it buys 4 more years before we have to do it all again, if that. thinking this way is what promises having to think this way again, and again, and again and again. in 2024, who american leftists vote for 1 day of the year matters little compared to what we do the other 364.
#j.txt#once again talking to me here there is a constant wailing alarm in my head like 24/7#we aren't taught the other ways we can facilitate change on purpose#there is power in the polls but unfortunately in america it is very little compared to the power in. the union..... lol#i'm not hardcore judging scared minorities in america if they wanna vote for biden out of fear for trump this election cycle#but i am hardcore judging if it's proclaimed as the morally superior thing to do when it's just not#like at all#which is also by design!#would you like blue poison or red poison don't you love living in a country that lets you choose!#i also just hate the narrative that this is our only way out of trump's america#like if he wins it's over like people who've been organizing and agitating and fighting and being arrested won't be doing the same shit#before and after#we gotta stop seeing voting as activism let alone a meaningful challenge to facism#not that i know everything either#just. even the few history books i've opened don't hold instances of voting being the way out of a tide of facism man#we can multitask guys vote for who we think we need to but if that's all we're doing to change things um.#we will be stopping nothing and we will be here forever#these shitheads have power here in and outside of office and they will do whatever they can wherever they can do it regardless#like they tried storming the capital literally last election. like#and that's just. here in our own country#why should we expect them to act any different this go around. genuinely. i would like to be able to expect different#all that said i feel like i am going crazy every day 👍#2024 elections

I understand how important it is to be able to criticize the President, and am not at all of the belief he should be beyond critique, but the critiquing of Biden makes me so nervous. (That's not to say I agree with every decision he's made - I absolutely do not). But I feel like people see things he's done wrong and decide they won't vote for him because of it. I'm not sure if enough people have the ability to see that he's done things wrong but also is our only hope of staving off literal fascism.
So many people talk about how sick they are of it constantly being a lesser of two evils situation, constantly having to vote for a candidate they hate because the other side is worse (I heard it in 2020, 2022, etc), and I guess I just- I don't really get it? We're here because they didn't do that in 2016. All of this could've been avoided had the result been different then. I just feel like people don't comprehend how different of a place we'd be in if Hillary won and engage in all this cognitive dissonance to make themselves feel better about being part of the reason she didn't.
Like.... this has been a long-running topic of discussion on my blog, not least because it is so inexplicable and maddening. It also shows how terribly shallow most people's understanding of the American political process is, and how toxic the "I can only vote for a candidate if every single personal belief/position of theirs matches mine" belief is, as well as how much damage it has done to American democracy even (and indeed, especially) by people who technically don't identify as right-wing. Yell at Republicans all you like (God knows I do, because they're the worst people on earth) but they vote. Every time. Every election. Every candidate. Whereas the Democratic electorate still holds out for Mister Perfect, and it very definitely is Mister Perfect. The amount of "evil HRC!!!" Republican-poisoned Kool-Aid that so-called progressives drank in 2016, and then afterward when they insisted they could have voted for someone like Elizabeth Warren and then didn't do that in 2020, is... baffing.
Frankly, I don't care if Hillary Clinton's personal positions on XYZ issue were the most Neoliberal Corporate Centrist Shill to Ever Shill (and Online Leftists' intellectual skills being what they are, I seriously doubt that they were using any of those words correctly and/or accurately). American policy is not made by "personal dictate of the ruler," or at least it shouldn't be, because we are not an absolute monarchy. We rely on the operation of a system with input from many people. As such, if Hillary had been elected, we would have 2-3 new liberal justices on SCOTUS and have secured civil and environmental rights for the next generation. Roe would be intact, and all the other terrible rulings that SCOTUS has recently handed down wouldn't have happened. We wouldn't have had January 6th, the attempt to stage a coup, all the tawdry scandals, our national security being at risk because of Trump stealing classified documents and probably selling them to Russia and/or Saudi Arabia, etc etc. If you think that's in any way an equivalent amount of evil to what would have happened if Hillary was elected, or if she was "still evil!!!," then I honestly don't know what to tell you. She could fucking murder puppies in her spare time if she had preserved SCOTUS for us, WHICH SHE WOULD HAVE, BECAUSE SHE WARNED US EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.
(Hoo. Sorry. Still steamed. 2016 war flashbacks, again.)
In short, Hillary would have been a solid continuity Democrat and she would have signed whatever legislation a Democratic House and Senate passed, not to mention been hugely inspiring as the first female president. But because it's so important to the Online Leftists' moral sense of themselves that BOTH PARTIES ARE THE SAME!!!, they can't possibly acknowledge that ever being a factor, and/or admit that they have any culpability in not voting for her in 2016. It's like when you read the British press about any of the UK's equally numerous problems, and they BEND OVER BACKWARD to avoid mentioning that Brexit might be a factor. They just can't mention it, because then that means they might have made the wrong choice in pulling for it as hard as they did, and blah blah Sovereignty.
Basically, if HRC had been elected president, everything would be so much less terrible and terrifying all the time, we would be talking about her successor in 2024 as someone else who could be the "first," we could explore handing the reins over to Kamala as a Black/Asian woman, we could promote Buttigieg as the first gay president, etc etc. But because 2016 was so catastrophically fucked up, we are in damage control mode for the immediate future and every election is just as pivotal. And yet, because people think that the only thing that matters is a presidential candidate's personal views, we're stuck having the same old arguments and desperately begging people over and over to please vote against fascism, since that somehow isn't self-evident enough on its own. Yikes on Bikes.

here's my scattered, ranty, kind of shitty take on “vote blue no matter who”: i have been painfully aware of how fucked up our country is since Trayvon Martin was killed and the country just came together and said it was fine and deserved even.
We were the same age, he was a month older than me and they justified that boy's death through the media for doing mundane shit any of my friends would've been doing too.
And i have seen year after year, death after death, this country let's people get murdered by police or people who want to play police and they get away with it almost every time.
Most of white America doesn't give a single fuck about this issue because it doesn't affect them, they would prefer if we didn't have to see or talk about it at all because talking about race (or anything outside the “norm” for white people) at all is uncomfortable.
Now as shitty as he was, the silver lining I saw in Trump is that white people were no longer able to escape how evil this country can be. Like hey!! When the state sees YOU as undesirable TOO it really has a way of bringing people together - in resistance, solidarity, support etc. Trump was a trash ass president, but as A Country we were FINALLY having some real, honest open discussions about the way this shit works and what better options could look like - even tried implementing some changes so we're less reliant on cops in some places. Ironically, it's when leadership is at its worst that we choose to move forward collectively.
But then in the run-up to the presidential election all the vote blue no matter who liberals, the back to brunch liberals, all of them hounded anybody with even the slightest skepticism or dislike of our candidates and even now make it impossible to have any critical conversation without coming in like “do u want trump/ron/[whatever republican that applies] to win?? we HAVE to vote it's our ONLY choice the world is going to END”
THIS IS HOW IT IS LITERALLY EVERY ELECTION, IF THE STAKES ARE REGULARLY THIS HIGH SOMETHING IS FUNDAMENTALLY BROKEN HERE.
Vote blue no matter who and back to brunch liberals have fucking brain worms and are the most useless helpless political group. I remember them saying we HAVE to get Joe Biden in then pull him to the left, just this one time bro just this one vote bro I promise. All of the solidarity we've had and all the support we've shown won't instantly vanish the second we're safe we promise we won't leave you behind again just one more vote bro-
maybe go to hell?? maybe we should fucking LOSE and have fear and suffering inflicted on us to make that solidarity an actual, real persistent thing that transcends presidencies. My shitty take is sometimes it IS helpful to have horrific leadership so the privileged class can see how it feels to be ANYONE ELSE for a change. And you would hope they fucking learn something but all the back to brunch liberals are hijacking posts speaking frankly about israel's ongoing genocide and the US's complicity in it, and making the conversation about having to vote for Biden or whatever Democrat anyways.
We don't even have elections coming up right now!! Read the fucking room!! Biden is greenlighting genocide and so are a bunch of other politicians on both sides of the aisle, but back to brunch liberals can't be bothered with ANYTHING. Any sort of valid criticism at all is shut down with "well, choices suck but you HAVE to vote” actually in my heart I think you have to suffer until we get some better fucking choices and you actually help advocate for them, instead of being this useless recurring presence that only shows up to shut down conversation instead of wanting to actually fix anything.

I keep SEEING this fucking idea circle of how the US got where we are with this fucking election cycle bullshit of Democrats saying "I'm the only option to defeat Republicans!" And then immediately becoming the "boohoo I can't the Republicans stop me!" Even though Republicans push forward whatever the fuck they want despite the outcry of disdain and it all comes down to this.
It's capitalism. That's why it's no war but class war. He "can't" stop Republicans because his business interests that get him elected don't let him.
He's ceded so much ground just like every Democrat before him that we exist in a christo-fascist state on the brink of total authoritarianism dictatorship that's a complete all hail to any business interest that'll line a pocket because it's all a capitalist shill game.
And NOW we're at a point where I'm angry people won't vote because Biden is basically the only hopeful option at this time because 3rd party candidates are so benign in the grand scheme they basically need to spend 4 years campaigning even for the smallest possible position to make a name for themselves and they're too cowardly STILL to dedicate to saying actual centrist/leftist ideology because they ALSO need the money from big corps to even be able to MANAGE the kind of campaign a presidential run gets them.
Our best options is to vote in the primaries, get as much of a foothold for justice democrats as we possibly can and pray they'll pretend to make laws for the common people as opposed to the corps that actually pay for their campaign and their bills.
However on the anger of not voting thing, how can I even be MAD?! Like the guy is advocating openly for a genocide that I get a front row seat to every single day. Every drop of Palestinian blood lies on his geriatric war criminal hands. The only thing I can think to even say is the trolley problem where we HAVE to make the choice to elect him because our other option is fucking Project 2025 which is literally just full blown facism eroding any semblance of a democracy. Displayed clearly by this meme I've been sharing consistently because it's literally a fucking fact of my existence as a trans queer in a purple state that'll probably become a "Front Line State" in any coming fucking conflict.
Tumblr media
And yes it IS an incredibly privileged mindset to think we DONT need to utilize any and every tool to eliminate fascism in any and every way. Even if it just delays the inevitable. But it's STILL demoralizing every single day where they feed on chisling away at the very soul inside of you until you're to bruised and depressed to even groan in agony.
And at the end of it, it may not even MATTER if we vote. The fucking dictator cheetoh puff has these deranged facists in positions of power so that even IF he loses he's going to do his damnedest to completely overthrow the fucking government anyways.
So even IF you TRY to think of this from a trolley problem of "well we can kill the fewest and prevent direct genocide in our own nation as we advocate further forward for change" it all may be totally meaningless and end up in total armed conflict anyways!
Even on a local scale because he's got these fucking people deranged and at arms thinking they're all the second coming of Christ. We still have to try anything and everything in our power because if we don't then we've essentially given up to our own mass death, but how the fuck does this not completely demoralize you on every possible scale with the bullshit process they've created and let get infected by capitalism?
So yeah we keep ending up here because capitalism goes with the ideology that breeds the most financial gain for the people in positions of power. That's facism, specifically totalitarianism/authoritarianism.
Within those two ideologies they don't have to pretend to give a fuck about unions, or whistleblowers, or journalists, or human rights organizations, or even human rights at all. They buy their ticket that only they can afford and they have their ride to power and authority because they have money.
Tired of a union leader causing a ruckus? Congrats you can just get them arrested, or even killed/assaulted so bad they back down. Tired of a whistleblower? Well we've all seen how Boeing is going right now and they don't even PRETEND to give a fuck.
The idiots and the bastards on an individual scale want trans people dead. Those are the people who want POC to go back to being fully oppressed, and want tradwives, and all the other shit. For the people on top all of that shit is just more people dumped into the meat grinder for their profits. They don't ACTUALLY fucking care. They MIGHT find a connection to those ideals to some extent but at the end of the day, whether it's subconscious or conscious, the ideals are a means to an end of complete power and authority for them.
So yeah, here's to another election cycle of hoping that voting for the lesser evil is even enough this time, because if it isn't me and my communities may very well be dead or in outright armed conflict where we spend every second fighting for our lives. Which basically sets us on a nice time frame of probably about a year and a half or so before we're concealed carrying at best and waiting for us or someone like us to be struck down before our eyes.

I'll put this below a cut cause its aimed at particular grievance and is long:
Tumblr media
@scottsumrners Since I'm not one to veer away from going at know-nothing up-own-ass chucklefuck bitches like yourself: I need nor want Biden to fuck me, I just need him to:
not remove the women's rights that are left
not throw away LGBT+ rights and criminalize being LGBT+
not turn this country into an authoritarian military enforced hellscape
not quote Hitler (like orange bastard on the opposite side
maintain a status quo as opposed to falling into a fascist authoritarian regime
Oh and little ignorant bitch, being center-left is not "right-wing cuck"; its called having ones head in reality and not up ones own ass in some delusional idiotic view on things. Like realizing that a President nor government body is capable of waving a magic pen to make real far left shit. Universal healthcare/single-payer? Not going to happen so long as there's a right-wing and independent actors that stand against it; because a President doesn't get a magic wand to wave to make it real. Student loan forgiveness? Shut down by the right. Voting rights bill? Oh look another thing that'd require more dems to vote for it. On and on in this vein, where your dipshit type fail to grasp how systems work. Not even diving into you actually sabotaging the left and all of its causes, because you serve as the perfect example of far leftist types. The type that makes sane reasonable ones like myself's jobs that much harder, while we're trying to make steady smaller advancements that actually do shit; your moronic type bitches and whines over that not being far enough. An easy example to go to is how universal healthcare/single-payer isn't going to happen by one wave of a magic pen, cause the right exists to block it and a President isn't supposed to be an authoritarian supreme power forcing through things. However one can gradually elect more people that are for it and steadily build it up till finally being able to have it actually pass. But ones like you are incapable of grasping that reality thinking the dems just choose not to pursue it cause its not their fancy; rather than the system not allowing it. I may despise the Trump right-wing, but I'll give them credit in actually seeding a lot of shit over decades of time that allowed them to have such a massive upheaval that set the clock back in recent times. Its something far leftists should consider cause as bad as the right version was is as much potential beneficial good as a left version could be if they'd drop the damn purity tests.
Also ftr a 3rd party option isn't a damn thing, since there's not a chance in hell they'll actually get enough votes from the EC to actually win anything. They're a wasted vote, which in this upcoming case is a pro-Trump vote by indirect consequence. Something you'd think your dumbass type would've learned from 2016.
So take your far-left head-up-your-own-ass ignorant/naive bullshit and shove it right up next to where your head is associated. Oh and ftr "him", are you pushing a gender onto me? Cause that'd be a very right-winger thing to do. For most people I don't really give a shit as I go by all pronouns, but when a self-righteous little prick decides to try to step into my territory I'll call that shit out. Now do crawl your sorry pathetic shitbag ass back to whatever cesspit you call home. The only thing you've shown here that I've already said in the past is that far-left and right are just mirrors of each other, using the exact same tactics and attacks towards anyone not getting in lockstep with you. I was going to ignore the other post cause your little bitch ass pal ran their mouth off without having a clue about what they were talking about (or even having the comprehension skills to grasp that the "supporting Trump" part of my post had nothing to do with RWBY side), but then you did a 2nd post so I shifted instead to a fuck you.
Oh and a last note if your sorry ignorant ass thinks that the orange bastard is going to be better in regards to Gaza, then I'll metaphorically laugh my goddamn ass off at your idiocy.

I've voted for the Democratic candidate in every local and national election for 17 years, either because I genuinely believed in them at the time (Obama) or because they seemed like the lesser evil (Hillary, Biden). I will not vote for Biden in 2024.
I am far from the only person who has hit their limit watching the US openly back genocide, so I wanted to make a post for others who are going to refuse to give the Democrats their vote and are going to have to deal with shitlibs yapping in their ear about Trump and 'fascism' or whatever catchphrase caught their tongue waiting for the mobile above their bed to start up again.
"I don't like Biden either but if we don't support him we're going to have Mein Cheeto Fuhrer back in the White House"
I don't care about your stress and anxiety around Trump, you're not who I'm in solidarity with. I'm in solidarity with Palestine, I'm in solidarity with every Latino trying to live here and instead being thrown in a concentration camp for the crime of being Latino, I'm in solidarity with inmates, with the homeless, with the dispossessed and liberation movements the world over. And no one included there is doing better under Biden than Trump - he is continuing down an identical path and escalating violence and repression and suffocation of all those groups and people.
I don't care about hyper online white queers scared of their own shadow who think Agent Orange is the worst thing to ever happen and will usher in fascism. If you feel safer under Biden than Trump, you're either delusional, disconnected, or part of a demographic of people for whom the political system still shows some marginal interest in entertaining. In any case, I don't care about the opinions and anxieties of people who's political awakening and world began in 2015 and who have done nothing since to humble themselves and recognize that all the fascist shit you're afraid Trump 2 will do has already been what people living under the thumb of US empire have faced for decades.
You don't have to entertain liberals. Liberals are liberals either because they have decent principles but are so beholden to propaganda they have no actual understanding of how to embody or actualize those principles, or they're Aaron Sorkin watching dweebs with no real principles who will sell anybody out for their own comfort and sense of social superiority and goodness, a people who would rather see every Palestinian vaporized out of existence and then spend the next 20 years talking about how sad that was and how really it was Republicans fault if you think about it, then actually put any skin in the game and stand with people using force to resist genocide.
Anyone that wants to browbeat or guilt or condescend to you about the importance of voting in national elections is at best a well meaning desperate rube responding out of fear and ignorance to being confronted with a material reality Parks And Rec never prepared them for, or they're a bad faith actor with a fundamentally reactionary conversative worldview who's playing team sports with politics and coopts the language of oppression and justice to cajole people into supporting the left wing of the oligarchic imperial plane that is the US political system.
Fuck all these people and fuck lesser evil shit. We need to stop wasting time on people who are not interested in doing the right thing and start putting that energy into fighting alongside and standing with all those across the world who are engaging in genuine struggle for liberation. And that is not now, nor ever, going to happen on the national level of the US electoral system.

Reduction is the mode of conversation online in most, if not all spaces that aren't really trying to have a conversation, but it seems remarkably odd to me that someone like Dara Starr Tucker (of The Breakdown) seemed to reduce the "no vote for Biden" crowd as though they're purely motivated by just Palestine.
As if folk haven't learned Palestine is interconnected to a lot of the things we're seeing here in the USA and abroad.
As if the United States funding a genocide isn't having massive consequences here. As if the 'War on Terror' didn't leave the states completely incapable of supporting its populace because all of our money went into the military budget that bombed and tortured millions of people.
By and large, she seemed frustrated by the whole back-and-forth that people have in her comment sections. She knows people will do their thing, and she'll do hers (whatever that may be). But of the two videos of hers that popped up on my timeline, the article, “Well What Are Y’all Going To Do Then?” keeps coming to mind.
People aren't making ill-informed choices. They're certainly trying to be as prepared as they can, lit-wise, while debating when the 'right time' will be take appropriate actions against rising violence.
Trump is not the worst thing that can happen to us, and the paralytic fear of electoral politics and its rhetoric has got to be challenged at some point for anything to change.
So, why bother painting people as if they're making the biggest mistakes of their lives, when a lot of them are currently living through one made out of desperation because of Trump?

SMART BOMB
The Completely Unnecessary News Analysis
By Christopher Smart
December 12, 2023
TOP 10 LITMUS TESTS FOR REPUBLICANS
10. Guns — Be sure to declare the 2nd Amendment is sacred.
9. Abortion — Always say we're protecting pre-born people (never say zygote).
8. Gay marriage — Keep repeating, God said marriage is between a man and a woman. (Extra-marital affairs don't count, especially oral sex.)
7. Donald Trump — Focus on his leadership skills, such as insults and bullying. And emphasize his business acumen, feign ignorance about his fraud trial and sex assault.
6. Biden didn't win — You must say Trump won or you're toast. Say this: There were voting irregularities and there's plenty of proof.
5. All Muslims are terrorists — Play to white fears. Remember, Santa and Jesus are white. Maybe the workforce is a bit thin, but do you want your daughter to marry a terrorist.
4. Climate Change is B.S. — Another liberal ploy to sell electric cars and deadly windmills that kill whales. Your shares of Shell Oil could go in the dumper, do you want that.
3. Dictatorships aren't that bad — And look, it just for the one day. Don't listen to Steve Bannon, Trump is not following the play book of Benito Mussolini — well, not exactly.
2. Taxing the rich — Just say redistribution of wealth is a communist, welfare ploy. The rich are job creators and everyone wants a job except Democrats.
Taylor Swift — The libs are weaponizing mega-star Taylor Swift. She's on the cover of Time magazine, dances around in those sparkly, sequined swimsuits and she tells her fans to vote. How bad can it get.
WHEN DID YOU STOP SUPPORTING TERRORISTS
The House Committee of Inquisition convened in a special session to determine if student terrorists were spreading propaganda regarding the presence of Popsicles on elite campuses where leftists have made life sticky for normal white people. With brutal questioning, Rep. Elise Stephanic, R-N.Y., demanded to know whether “Fat Albert” Saturday morning cartoons violated school policies. “It all depends,” answered Dean Nomee Nadda of Who Dat University. Stephanik warned the dean that she was under oath. Universities should be forums for free inquiry, Nadda replied, except when they're not. That's a yes or no question, Stephanic snapped, and I don't like your attitude. We're trying to score political points up here, she said, and we don't want actual answers. The Who Dat dean offered a clarification: Popsicles are protected by the Constitution. Rep. Burgess Owens, R-Utah, jumped in wondering aloud why elite universities teach Critical Race Theory and if it along with diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives were linked to rising levels of anti-Popsicleism. Well congressman, Nadda said, I just want to convey whatever I need to say about Popsicles so I won't get fired for defending free speech.
7 WAYS TO LIVE BETTER THIS WINTER
Alright Wilson, The Washington Post has thrown down the gauntlet with its feature, “7 Ways to Live Healthier This Winter.” For example, number four on their list is “Groom the Dog,” because they bring in dust and mites. Mites! Yikes! Number seven is “Upgrade Your Footwear,” which is a no-brainer, but some folks don't have much between their ears, let alone their toes. Not to be outdone, the staff here at Smart Bomb put together our list for a better winter. 1 – Stock up at the liquor store. This saves trips on dangerous icy roads where Utah drivers could slide into you. 2 – Join AAA because your battery is gonna die at least half a dozen times and you don't have jumper cables. 3 – Buy jumper cables. 4 – Get electric socks. Eliminate this step if you are one of those people who wear flip-flops all winter — in which case, call your therapist. 5 – Keep a plastic urinal under the driver's seat for when Foothill Blvd. turns into a parking lot on snowy days at rush hour or when you're just not going to make it home in time from Happy Hour. 6 – Do not get wasted in the hot tub, it could lead to drowning. Ignore this if you want to get rid of a significant other. 7 – And to guarantee a winter wonderland, sign up for the new illustrated Kama Sutra newsletter for a more... spiritual season.
Post script — That's going to do it for another super-duper week here at Smart Bomb where we keep track of free speech so you don't have to. In the now famous words of Rep. Elise Stephanic, R-New York, to former University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill, who resigned under pressure, Why haven't you stopped students from calling for the genocide of Jews? Meanwhile, Elon Musk restored the account of Alex Jones to X (Twitter). The radio host conspiracy theorist has said many times that the murders of 20 six- and seven-year-olds and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary was a hoax. During his four years as president, The Washington Post catalogued more than 38,000 of Trump's false and misleading statements. Trump has targeted Muslims, Mexicans, Syrian refugees, Africans, congresswomen of color and Black athletes, among others. Recently, Trump called for the execution of Gen. Mark Milley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During all this the only thing coming from Ms. Stephanic was the sound of her lips smacking Trump's rosy-red German ass.
Speaking of winter, Wilson (clever segue), it's going to be cold and snowy, but if folks focus on Smart Bomb's “7 Ways to Live Better This Winter” it will be much more enjoyable. So we know you and the guys in the band have something that's going to put us in the mood — so hit it, Wilson:
And when God gave out rhythm He sure was good to you You can add, subtract, multiply and divide By two I know today's your birthday And I did not buy no rose But I wrote this song instead and I call it "Popsicle Toes" Popsicle toes Popsicle toes are always froze Popsicle toes You're so brave to expose all those popsicle toes You must have been Miss Pennsylvania With all this pulchritude How come you always load your Pentax When I'm in the nude? You got the nicest North America This sailor ever saw I'd like to feel your warm Brazil And touch your Panama But your Tierra del Fuegos Are nearly always froze We gotta see saw Until we unthaw those Popsicle toes Popsicle toes Popsicle toes are always froze Popsicle toes You're so brave to expose all those popsicle toes
(Popsicle Toes — Michael Franks)

Mexicans and American Mexicans are still deported to Mexico under Biden lolol. No matter what you try to bring up to deflect Biden being just as much as a peice of shit as Trump, Biden has continued or made worse. The cages are still a thing but have a different name now. ICE is even still around. You can calm it down and step off your high horse. I only said "you can do whatever you want, but dont shame people if they don't feel like voting or if they vote third party". Biden is just as much as a dictator as Trump. Just hear me out without going straight to the "do you just want a dictator??" mindset for a few minutes. Once you stop seeing red vs blue and start realizing it's about rich vs poor, things will make sense for you. Money and white supremacy is the only thing that keeps the interest of our goverment and is why they do what they do. That's why the United States and Israel are committing genocides across the entire world, no matter which party controls our government. Vote all you want to, but it's not going to do shit other then maybe make you feel like you did something. Going out of your house and protesting out in the streets, speaking up, and more direct action is what brings change. While you're out in the streets, look out for people and make sure people are wearing masks so they can't be identified, can't spread the ongoing pandemic, plus it helps with tear gas quite a bit. I'm sorry for ranting at you, but it just annoys me when people think voting will fix everything while we're all dying in the streets, without healthcare, and while our tax dollars are being used to fund more genocides.
"Just hear me out" no because I said listen carefully and you didn't and went straight to attacking me in my inbox and proceeded to spew a bunch of disinformation that I don't have time to unpack like "they stopped counting the death toll under Biden" wrong! And thanks to the trillions in covid relief funds under Biden, this country didn't go under and my family survived. But whatever this is besides the point I'm not here to defend Biden or even to defend democrats as a whole but at least some democrats appear to have a conscience, even if they are a bunch of pussies for not speaking up against this genocide in fear of losing their jobs and shame on them, I don't know how they sleep at night.
I don't like Biden, I don't agree with everything he's done. But to claim he's as much a "dictator" as Trump is delusional rhetoric. Trump was actively inciting an coup and threatening vote counters to throw out opposing votes because he's mentally unstable.
You're talking to someone who thinks democracy in America is already an illusion so yes, my vote is an attempt to feel like I'm not powerless as a citizen of this country lol. Voting doesn't solve everything obviously it cannot be that simplified, however I still believe voting is not entirely useless. Our voices do matter and protesting makes people listen. If our right to information, to speak and to protest is revoked, any power we have to make change in numbers will be lost and therefore, I'm prioritizing protecting those rights. I'll be doing everything I can to keep a dictator from becoming president because that's the ultimate threat we face right now. It's unfortunate that you and many others can't seem to foretell just how much worse things could get under complete GOP control in our current political climate of elevated right-wing radicalism.
Democrat or Republican run country, certain things will not get better right away. We have to take the steps necessary to make and maintain progression. But under Republicans, you can guarantee they will take this country back to 1950 and I won't stand by and put the fate of my future and others' lives in the hands of the American people without my contribution no matter how small of a difference you think it makes. People will say "every vote counts" and we all know that's a lie. However, if thousands of people share your mindset and choose not to vote, that's a dangerous game.

I have been having some of the most random, disjointed, mentally active dreams the last few nights. Just all over the place, and usually having to do with work. Last night, I was in the woods but it was near my dead grandmother's house, and I was figuring out my new prosthetic leg. It was for my left leg though, which is strange, because my right is the bad leg that is eventually going to need surgical intervention to fix all the damage. We're on the keep going till I can't plan with that one. But I was trying to figure out how to screw the foot onto the threaded ankle shaft without having to take my boot off, and also concerned that the prosthetic foot was like a size 9 or so (I have size 13 feet, so they looked grossly mismatched side by side). It was very comfortable to walk in though, I do have to say. So that's me up an hour early going wtf...
In other news, the state still has about 80 percent of the vote yet untabulated, but it's been called for more of the same governance, unrestricted abortion, term limits where you can nest in the same chamber for years upon years, and a dropbox on every corner with no voter ID in sight. Fingers crossed we at least keep the state legislature. A cursory review is showing results not much better nationally, though it's looking good that we at least take the house.
There's a lot to unpack here, but I am unfortunately not surprised. I am 40 next year. Been through an election or two, hell, in '88 I voted in a mock election in Kindergarten, and voted GOP even then (for whatever reason, I liked H.W. Bush and absolutely could not stand Dukakis at the ripe old age of 5). There are plenty of times that I thought, and we were told that we had this in the bag... and then it's the morning after. Again, much to unpack, and I'm still getting out of this jacked up dream, but it is boggling that anyone could look at the lockdowns, the destroyed economy, their grocery bills, the price of gas, and say "yes, please, more of that sounds lovely". But as I realized long ago, "we'll give you free money" is a very hard act to follow, especially if we're countering it with "you can have anything you want if you're willing to WORK for it"...
So again, disappointed, yes. But not surprised. Hoping for an upset when the rest of the votes are tallied, because older people vote absentee too, but not holding my breath. But we'll get through it. We always do.
Has it only been two years of Biden? Four years of Whitmer? It feels like an eternity...

Going to just say this ...given what's all going on and who's in so called control of this country....if you are still voting Democrat, full knowing what is happening and you are fine with this, you need therapy. Because, you're a fucking moron and I think you forgot everything you may have learned back in school or something. We were better off before this idiot (Biden) got installed. Reguardless if you didn't like trump because of his so called mean tweets, manuisms...whatever. your feeling never mattered. He was brutally honest, and didn't mince words. We were energy independent, had a surplus of oil, our emergency reserves were full, fuel prices were steady and below 2.00 a gallon.....products costs less, people's 401k's we're doing great...etc. now, everything is nearing three times as much or more in some spots, and showing the rising prices of everything on a daily basis. Your democratic party is out to destroy this country and you fucking idiots don't even see it for the fact that it's happening. I'm not here to praise the republicans either. I think term limits need to be established for all in office. That position is not meant to be a life long career. Meanwhile those is office are making mad bank through "lobbying"..aka money laundering, and having insider information on what is happening with the market and other aspects of things before it happens...so therefore they make their moves to make the most profit.
If you don't like what I have to post politically or say in reguards to this, feel free to Fuck off and block me. No skin off my ass. I see for far to long what's been happening and most are oblivious to the truth of what's really going on and what is being done to distract us from the truth. Research shit from all news sources. Check independent news outlets..etc. don't just settle for cnn and MSNBC talking points which are a fraud to start with and are nothing but propaganda.

I think you are wrong about Biden personally and he does not "suck in the least considering he cut child poverty in half, added 5.3 million jobs, managed the most ambitious vaccine rollout in the nation’s history, and passed a $1.2 trillion investment in the water, roads, bridges and broadband.
The investment that would have been much higher in SEVERAL other areas except they had to kowtow to Manchin and Sinema instead of exercising some authority as the head of the party or negotiating whatever the hell they wanted to get them to play ball, still earmarking WAY too much money for the Pentagon and the military, not doing better on the friggin' border camps, expanding money to cops, completely botching the Afghanistan withdrawal, and saying "Oh, we totally need the Republicans - you know, those guys who enabled a fascist and attempted a coup?" Let me be clear here: I don't regret voting for Biden. He is STILL a million times better than Trump or ANY Republican. I don't doubt for a single minute that he is TRYING to actually help people and actually cares about the people of this country, unlike the last guy. You listed plenty of good stuff there... but like any President there's plenty to criticize and say "God, you suck." But he sucks the same way EVERY President sucks - doing a lot of good and a lot of bad. People need to understand that politics, especially in America, is a game of pragmatism. Even if I got who I WANTED to be President, I have little doubt that they would suck, too. No one can magically make everything better once they're in charge - it's just they can do a lot of harm or a lot of good in that position. The hope is that they end up doing more good than harm, thus you have to vote for people who you hope will do more good, even if they kinda suck. And with the American system, we have two parties - one that seems to actually give a shit even if they fall short of how good they SHOULD be, and one that tends to enrich itself or wants to prop up fascism. And voting for third party when it comes to the big ticket stuff never helps the good guys - it helps the bad. I will take imperfect and kinda sucks but is TRYING to do good over "awful and horrible and will step on your face rather than look at you" any day of the week, and everyone else should, too. Because we ALREADY came THIS close to this country being a fascist state and if we're not careful we're just as close to being there again. Vote pragmatically, even if they're not great. Because hey, even if they suck - they might actually have enough of a conscience or a brain to admit they were wrong and change for the better if we complain enough, vs. the other side which will just go "LOL TRIGGERED MWAHAHAHAHAHA."

Lets Talk About Crack Pipes!!! (and maybe get a little philisophical about shit)
Tumblr media
So, The DHHS was probably gonna give people crack pipes before Republicans got all morally outraged about it. Let's be honest here. They already have the full kits available in Oregon, and even a conservative state like North Carolina offers a kit that includes condoms, brillo pads, rubber bands and wipes. They don't offer the pipe itself, but they tell you what kind to use.
By the way, ever wonder why you go into a shitty gas station and they're always selling little fake roses in glass tubes? Because they're actually crack pipes! :) with a free rose!!
They do this to lower the risk of disease transmissions. Open sores on the mouth(crackhead lips), combined with the sharing of drug equipment and people inevitably Fucking while High leads to hepatitis, aids and all kinds of crazy shit. Beyond that, in the world of fetanyl and overclocked super drugs its far easier to not OD if you're smoking it instead of injecting it.
Seriously, no one actually said this was specifically for crack. Its way more likely the government is trying to encourage people to smoke their HEROIN instead of inject it.
Now why would they do that?
Tumblr media
Because fetanyl will fucking kill you, thats why.
In a world of Bacardi 151, weed so potent that it can drop an elephant, crack cocaine and heroin. Fetanyl is just the next chapter in Drugs that Man Probably Shouldn't Have Invented.
In fact, we're reaching an absolute peak here when it comes to over all substance use.
Tumblr media
One in 5 people use -illegal- drugs. If you include legal drugs(alcohol and tobacco) that number skyrockets to 60%
If you don't think that's a problem and people should be allowed to do whatever, whenever(which is cool, live and let live). What would you say when I told you that no one knows how to make you stop?
No, seriously. Once someone meets the criteria for addiction, it is almost impossible to make them stop.
Tumblr media
I'm not just speaking on this from a statistical stand point, I have experienced this personally. I have friends and family members who have been in and out of rehab facilities and jail for this shit. Rehab for the drugs, jail for the crimes they committed to get the drugs. They will not and cannot stop. They'll lie to you, they'll steal from you, they will hurt you if they have to. The only thing they are loyal to is getting fucked up. If you've been around junkies, its very hard to maintain sympathy and see them as a victim. No one told you to steal your grandma's wedding ring and pawn it for blues. No one told you to break into all the cars in the walmart parking lot and sell their radios for an 8 ball. No one told you to get high on meth and choke your girlfriend until her eyeballs had ruptured vessels. No one told you to smoke crack and molest your kids.
There's a reason so many women voted to ban alcohol immediately after they got the right to vote. Because their alcoholic husbands were beating them, starving them, and hurting their children. There are two sides to every coin.
I guess that's just a wider debate between where societal responsibility ends and personal responsibility begins. Regardless, i can be mad at lots of things at once. Multi-tasking rage.
So the government flooded our cities with crack in the 80s(then arrested you for it), they allowed companies to develop incredibly potent and addictive opiates and pass them out like candy for a massive profit(then arrested you for it), they are currently allowing companies to develop franken-weed that's absolutely nothing like the shit people were growing on the DL 30 or 40 years ago(that they also arrested you for!!!)
We are like 60% of the way to Brave New World right now. Aldous Huxley was a prophet. We are over sexualized, over medicated and over fed.
And the absolute icing on the cake?
Biden looked at all the data, took a deep breath and decided that 30 million dollars to "harm reduction" was adequate.
What a goddamn joke.
