Bi-Weekly Update - 3/8/21

hello and happy March!

work continues, as it ever does. I ran into a few delays due to some real life stuff that kept me away from my computer and internet access for a bit, but we've come out the other side of that for now and things have returned to some semblance of normal.

I feel a little like a broken record because there's not much to say other than "I'm working on it", and not much else to do except keep working on it until it's done. I really, really want it to be done. I'm getting closer.

post-tkm, fox movie night where they’re all huddled in the girls dorm watching a movie

it was originally renee and allison’s night but word got out to dan, who invited herself and matt, and matt invited neil, who brought the monsters, and aaron brought katelyn (and maybe there was some tension but i am a strong believer in nicky and his ability to defuse tense situations) and suddenly the whole team was gathered together in the small but cozy dorm

renee and allison cuddled up on one side of the couch while dan and matt hold hands on the other side, andrew and neil huddled together in a bean bag they brought from their own dorm, katelyn and aaron sitting in front of the couch, dan’s hand playing with katelyns hair, nicky and kevin left to sit on the floor in the open spaces

nicky brought legally blonde on DVD, neil and kevin both brought exy documentaries, andrew brought beauty and the beast, and aaron didn’t bring a movie (the other foxes brought some movies as well)

after a lot of deliberation (no one could agree on a movie - hair was pulled, fists were raised, and maybe a knife was drawn…) they decided on legally blonde to “research for aaron’s trial”

After rambling about Adam's plans to get killed in South América. We have to talk about Victor's reaction to this whole... thing. One thing that we have to remark about Adam is how he is a really good orator. Athought his arguments are rather repetitive, Adam really hit the target of Victor's guilt with his speech. So Victor now not only feels guilty about the promised itself, but also the reality of bringing another creature to life.

Also, it finally happened what I was thinking. Neither Alphonse not Elizabeth know how to take care of a distressed, and depressed Victor, at least not at the intense level of care that Clerval could do. The huge amount of mental misery that Victor passed through again, was a reminder of his breakdown while he was at the university.

A cruel reminder of his crime against nature, but this time said crime is now demanding that Victor repeats the process again. To defy nature once more, and bring another lost soul from the sweet endless sleep of death, to a world where its existence will be only defined by isolation.

Of course that, after this experience, Victor would "check out" at the end of the chapter. I don't know what word would describe it, but Victor going from having horrible nightmares again, to feeling a newfound sense of calmness feels like his own mind is trying to protect itself.
