Once upon a time in wonderland... • • My type of an autumnal mushroom hunt: not picking them but leaving them in their natural habitat, yet taking their memories and beauty home with me. I find it fascinating how mushrooms come in so many different forms and colours. Stepping into Casper David Friedrich's painting "Der Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer" (Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog) • • It was an incredibly foggy day in Budapest on this day, so we decided to drive off towards the hills, hoping to rise above the fog. It seemed hopeless for a while but then we suddenly ascended above the thick layer of clouds into the golden landscape. We were confronted with the most stunning view: the waves of the sea of fog crashing onto the autumaml trees, moving across one hill to another. Witnessing such a moment leaves one to wonder why these natural phenomenons touch our souls so deeply. I believe it's a blessing from our Creator, that in all our difficulties on Earth, no matter what we're going through the Moon will always be there and is just as beautiful in every phase. Sleeping under the biggest and brightest supermoon of the year: the perigee moon. Such a magical moment. [13.07.22.] I am writing this in October. The Moon is still a sign of hope upon the dark sky. She's following me... or should I say I'm following her. The Moon goes through different stages just as us humans do. Sometimes we are full, sometimes we are empty. But time goes on and we change. There might be a side of us we never show, and we sometimes don't have much beauty to show either. But even when the Moon is tiny on the sky, many eyes will look at it and say: oh isn't she beautiful! If we just give as much of us as we can, that is enough. The Moon isn't always full either. That's why a full moon is so magical and celebrated, because we know how long it took her to grow. A Moon is a source of inspiration and a sign of hope. It rises out of darkness and shines alone, to comfort the lonely, guide them and show them: there is beauty in this world and in every human. { Cottagecore dream } • • One thing I love about the English countryside is the lovely little cottages and their gardens. Thatched houses have such a charming character, it always feel like going back into a previous century. I like to imagine what it must have been like years ago, people living their simple life with the same exact cottages around. I like forgetting about modern busy cities and just getting lost in the wonderful peace and quiet of the village. Admiring the cottage flowers, the foxgloves and the honeysuckle, the way they decorate the brick walls. Brightstone was a lovely hidden gem. We found the sweetest little shop selling all sorts of gorgeous things made by creators on the island: beautiful postcards, bags, hand made and hand painted souvenirs. Another place we visited was the very famous Winkle Street and its cottages. The place was completely empty, we got to experience it in unbelievable peace and quiet. We could hear the lovely sound of the stream, it was a truly idyllic place. Not being able to see what is going on around us and what is ahead of us fills us with anxiety. Yet when the autumn mist descends it absolutely enchants one's soul and creates some kind of peace. { I found the key to the universe In the engine of an old parked car } • (Bruce Springsteen) • This was probably my favourite photo spot on the island. We parked Dougal in front of St Agnes' Church in Freshwater. It was the perfect spot, very quaint and idyllic. The bright purple colour against the dark, old looking thatched church was such a lovely contrast. The bubbly character of a classic car really pops out in the right surroundings. By the way, did you know St Agnes' Church is the only thatched church on the Isle of Wight? This is why it is also called "the thatched church". 《 Details of a Volkswagen 》 • • Every piece of art resembles its creator... in some ways this is true, in other cases I might disagree with this. A VW has its good and bad connotations. Some people think of that certain historical era, the period of wartime and the unsuccessful leaders... but even when studying history, there is always an aspect that isn't political or controversial. The People's Car. Whether we like it or not, this car was a big hit. It spread like wildfire across German territories, then Europe, then even overseas. It was reliable, affordable, family-centered, modern, and stylish. At the start it was more the technological development that made it so popular, but with the passing of time it grew close to people's hearts for different reasons... it's not history, not historical figures or technological developments that make this car so loved today. It's the details. The tiny pieces of artistic design, the well-planed creative parts that radiate something of a soul, the originality of a stylish and memorable look. An old car looks different from the modern ones around us today. It's from a time period that is far away, yet touches us deeply, and through the memories - that perhaps we have shared with or heard from family members - it is somewhat close to our hearts. [ There is power in the bond between the horse and its rider. ] • Horse photography is something I enjoy so much, not only, because I am fascinated by these beautiful animals, but because I get to capture those special moments between the horse and its rider. Their relationship is the base of everything when it comes to riding. Every movement, every moment counts from approaching the horse to taking it back to the fields. Another reason I love horse photography is because it's not about how good they can pose for a photo, I never give instructions, I just stay in the background and silently pay attention, waiting to capture those graceful moments that occur naturally. "The forest echoes through fog and trees true wisdom rooted in nature’s peace. The forest stretched on tippy-toes, a mystical ballet with an evergreen show." (Angie Weiland-Crosby) • • We came here to watch the autumnal sunset but surprisingly entered a different realm of this season. Instead of the low golden light shining through the colourful leaves the village garmented itself in a coat of mist. The houses were disappearing into the mysterious cloud that became thicker as the last rays of light dimmed. Only the church tower was visible by the end, reminding me of when everything is misty around us in life we will always find certainty in our Creator if we lift our eyes towards Him. He will always show us the way.
