I just watched disney's wish, and... I have some thoughts (especially on king Magnifico)

Obviously, SPOILER WARNING

I find it so funny that they didn't give us the backstory for king Magnifico. It's just, oh yeah, my family was murdered and my town ruined, and I learned magic to prevent this from ever happening again. Done? Done. Let's not mention that EVER AGAIN.

He has literally done NOTHING bad before Asha's interruption. He's a stuck-up narcissistic, sure, but he does exactly what he says, keeps wishes safe. Why??? No idea! Because up until he turns big bad (supposedly from his magic book?), he has no use for them! SO, WHY DO THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

The movie is not even 1.5 hours long, and yet IT DRAGS ON. And don't even get me started on the "Asha is actually the fairy godmother, and Magnifico is the enchanted mirror because that's some of the LAZIEST writing I have ever seen in my life.

Anyhow, shout out to Alan Tudyk for not being annoying. The second I saw his character, I thought "yup this is going to be the worst part of the movie." He isn't, he's simply alright.

Great success disney. I have an alternative movie title suggestion for you. It's "HEY, REMEMBER, WE MADE THESE OTHER MOVIES TOO? BUY OUR STUFF. "

Fair Warning as always: 100 yq spoilers.

The most frustrating thing about Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest is that we know the potential. We know what Mashima is capable of by looking at Edens Zero, Dead Rock, and Rave Master. We have even seen how good Fairy Tail itself would be with the emotion in the main series. Then you see this in the recent arc:

I mean I know Fairy Tail has its moments of power of friendship which can work at times because of the themes of Fairy Tail... but this is just... so upsetting. WHAT GOOD IS A GOLD DRAGON THAT IS JUST GOING TO USE FLAMES!?

It's an admittedly minor thing but something that bothers me a lot about the atla comics (and LoK) is the air acolytes

Why are they all new characters?

Where is Theo, the guy Aang himself said carries the spirit of the air nomads? Where are the hippie nomads from season 2 who were already living a very similar lifestyle to Aang's people?

Are the acolytes even nomads? They seem to just live in the temples by the time of LoK, How is that passing on the air nomad's legacy? How is it keeping the culture alive when they aren't practicing half of the culture?

Why didn't Aang ask the mechanic to make gliders like Theo's for the acolytes so they could fly too? If they have re-domesticated the ski bisons by the time of Korra why don't the acolytes seem to have any? It's not like you need to be an air bender to fly on them so why it's only Tenzin who has one and not the acolytes or even Aang's other children?

It's such a poorly written mess

I'm quite content to stand by my decision of pretending Thousand Year Blood War doesn't exist.

Battles are boringly one-sided, characters who logically should be dominating forget their powers to allow for other characters to shine, despite the fact that breaks the power scaling like a toothpick. And the exposition is as dull and bland as ever.

The anime adaptation has no soul to it. Even for a war-time arc. Such a shame. People on twitter are gushing, meanwhile I'm here wondering when it'll stop being pretentious and start being interesting at any point?

I truly wanted to enjoy this, I did. But I'm bored. It has nothing to do with the age of the source material, its the fact these stories totally lack charm and soul. Everything that made Bleach what it was has been stripped away for this shameless cash grab.

I wasn't expecting the next Shakespeare or Divine Comedy, but I shouldn't be glancing down at my watch every few seconds with glazed eyes asking if its over yet... presuming I actually can see anything on screen to begin with the horrid oversaturation of red.

This time it's acute illness that ruins the party!

I was so excited to see Bruce Springsteen tonight. You have no idea. This has been a bucket-list thing for so long.

And now I am so sick that I can hardly move. Good news: Not Covid. Bad news: Still so sick I can barely hold my head up.

Ah well, this isn't quite as upsetting as the time my mom and I were thwarted in out attempts to see the boss by a giant thunderstorm. We were half-way to the show when we realized we had left the tickets at home. Then our windshield wipers got stuck and we couldn't see and it was really scary.

Yeah. That was worse than this. A little.
