#what could be the name ship for mipha and revali
cryiling · 2 months
Note
Hi, crow! How are you doing? 😁
for the ship ask game: revalink (hehe), botw/totk zelink, and miphlink (i think that’s the correct ship name??)
(ask game from here)
omg hi iri!!! I'm doing well hru? imyy thank you for the ask 🥺🫶
revalink - ship
what made you ship it?
last february i was going through my zelda phase again and i was looking for fics to read. previously i had read a lot of sidlink fics so I was looking for something new, and I decided to check out revalink fics and. oh em gee. i got hooked 😭
I remember insisting I only liked it ironically but 💀 look where I am now. #1 revalink shipper oopsies 🤭 their dynamic really stood out to me, I've shipped a lot of rivals to lovers before so I guess once I started to consider it revalink just made sense to me. also revalink fics are devastatingly good, like there's a couple that I reread religiously 😫
what are your favorite things about the ship?
omg I LOVE THIS QUESTIONNN. saurr many things like. I mentioned it already but I love their dynamic, especially when you start to analyze it beyond the surface level. I love headcanons about why revali lashes out at link in the first place, especially in relation to the champion's ballad dlc and how revali's diary reveals that he's just really insecure about himself. I think they're such good character foils to each other and that makes their interactions, both as rivals and as lovers, so much richer than some of the other ships in the game. their relationship is so open to interpretation and that makes it one of the most satisfying ships to make content for SHFJDBF
is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
hmm not that I can think of! i post a lot of headcanons and stuff but I don't think they've ever been unpopular, maybe just unique. like my all the president's men au 💀 i still think abt that sometimes LOL
botw/totk zelink - don't ship
why don't you ship it?
aghhh ok ok hear me out. i don't ship them romantically BUT i do think they are peak queerplatonic vibes. it's just, the idea of knight x princess already feels like a weird dynamic to me, like I'm not a huge fan idk? ughh idk how to explain it. to me I've always preferred them to have more of a sibling dynamic. urgh I know I said hear me out but I'm not explaining it well. the voices told me not to ship it idk
what would have made you like it?
ok tbh I think zelink is cute in like every other game! just not these two 😭 so I guess if you put the two characters in literally any other game I would like them? aghhhh idk what it is about this one that makes me not want to ship it!! maybe in this game if they had a different backstory I would have shipped it. but tee bee ache link was so unhappy as a knight that I'm rooting for him to leave the whole royalty system behind and go live in the woods with his bird boyfriend idk 😭
despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
I literally think zelink makes the most sense as a ship, they're soulmates and they would go to the ends of the earth for each other, I'm sorry I feel so bad for not shipping them 😭 BUT on the other hand, I think all that can be true without having to be romantic yk? that's why I think they're a really good queerplatonic couple, they understand each other like no one else could, they always look out for each other and they can't imagine not being in the other's life. it's just not romantic. aughh I think they have such a good relationship but just not romantically 😣 maybe it's bc I'm also aspec
miphlink - don't ship
why don't you ship it?
I feel really bad but like mipha's crush was so clearly one-sided 😭 it's weird bc my absolute favorite trope is childhood friends to lovers, and they check the childhood friends box, but the ship just feels too vanilla/basic to me. I do think they're besties tho, because since they grew up together they'll be super close and know each other very well. but imo link doesn't see her like that and mipha eventually moves on
what would have made you like it?
I think a.) mipha's character should have been fleshed out more because she felt so one-dimensional and it kind of bothered me, her character had so much more potential and I love seeing fanon version of her where she actually has a personality. and b.) if there was a little more pining on both link's and mipha's parts. the best part of childhood friends to lovers is the pining!!
despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
I love mipha and I love link and I think they'll always look out for each other and be besties forever!! the end 😽

hello!!! hope u're having an awesome day/evening :DD so anyway, what got u into botw/tloz? also what other fandoms are u in? ur art is so cute btw!!! ♡
awww hii!!!!! thank you for the question and for saying my art is cute! :D :D :D
♡ big long rant below vvv ♡
i first played botw on the wii seven years ago with my big brother when i was really young! at first..i hated it :V the wii sucked and it was SO STRESSFUL when the stal-monsters came and started attacking me! i even tried diving underwater but just got shot a ton,.. so i didn't play it for a year or so before i got it on the switch and absolutely fell in love with it. it was the most beautiful game i'd ever played, i could be a cute boy and run around naked plus I could ahve a horse. i named her milky and i didn't know i could register her so i left her outside of kakariko and she dissapeared. rip milky ;_;
so after about two years of aimlessly exploring hyrule i found some youtube videos during the pandemic. and it was all theories and cutscenes and one about a romance? and i, being a little fruit, saw te pretty girl on the thumbnail and was instantly hooked. because i was link and link was me, so i wanted to see how i could get a cool elf girlfriend (for perfectly straight reasons, of course -w-). so i was entranced with zelink, and princess zelda. i looked at fanart, i shipped until i realised....this was a boring ship and i didn't even like zelda too much, and i hadn't even watched any of the cutscenes yet.
so i watch aaalll the cutscenes, including a very special one, mipha's touch. cue little me squealing and kicking my legs because it's a mermaid and she heals and she's REALLY pretty. so i begin playing through botw's story in earnest. and i try to get to ruta- fail, and do vah medoh instead (and become obsessed with revali..dark days indeed).but now that i have revali's gale i can easily get to zora's domain and OMG! A SHARK PRINCE!!! AND HE'S MIPHA'S LITTLE BROTHER! SO SHE'S ALIVE!
but wait......why was he referring to her in past tense?
and then i see the statue and have a full link moment because i've played hours and hours just so i can see her and seh's dead????????????/ are you friken kidding me???????????????
i struggle through ruta, kill waterblight after many failed attempts and get the cutscene tm . and i'm shattered, but i've realised that this ship is canon af. mipha loved link and he's looking at her with such intensity. and..you know. i'm a young girl with too much time on my hands because of the pandemic. so i start learning to draw mipha so i can make art -w- and she really fuelled my love for art because she makes me happy okay!! 😭😭
after ages of becoming as OP as possible i get through the rest of botw and kill ganon like seven times and woah :0 who would have guessed---aoc comes rolling along. and the trailers have mipha!
and i love aoc and it just fuels my love for botw even more. so now i've completed all of the shrines and am working through the korok seeds =w=
-
as for other fandoms i'm in i'm a little active in the dunmeshi fandom, same with pjo and nier but it's really mostly just loz stuff atp because there's no way i'm letting mipha go after sixish years and her changing my brain chemistry ♡
i'd love to be more active in all fandoms but believe it or not i can be pretty shy + don't have much time on my hands ;w;U
my dream is for my original story to get its own fandom once it's up hehe ♡

munday meme — x.
🖤 — what was one of the worst/most depressing moments you’ve had in the rpc?
Tumblr media
okay i've been. debating on answering this for a bit bc there's really only one answer but it is UPSETTING. so hey! i might delete this one later, but in the meantime! content warnings for: stalking, kidnapping, pedophilia, grooming & general abuse/manipulation! ( i was experiencing these acts, not committing them)
so, my dark secret comes out - before link, and back before i actually dropped out of the RPC entirely, i had a mipha blog! she didn't last very long, but i was super passionate about her. and at the time, i was friends with someone who had a revali blog! i won't give out anything more identifying than that. we'd known each other irl for a while, and he was... 22? 23? and i was 15-16? point is. too young.
but they'd been pressuring me into a relationship since i was... 12?? but the stuff that happened during my stint as mipha was the Last Fucking Straw - because they ended up kidnapping me twice in a short period of time, resulting in having to panic call my parents and beg them to come get me, while the other person was at work. it was honestly horrifying!! and like. part of the reason i fully left the rpc for a handful of years, among other things. this person had convinced me that they were Correct and Right in all things, and like. would follow me around from blog to blog and purposefully make ocs and characters that would 'match' mine so we could ship, but they'd do it all under a fake name so i didn't know it was them! not until i got ahold of one of their old laptops while i was trying to figure out a way out of their house and found ALL the art and graphics and psds and whatnot made by the "other person". it... man. it's still got me traumatized to be completely honest.
the whole situation made me put down botw for a long time, until i eventually picked it up again ( - then had to stop, again, because of joycon drift ) so i'm really happy that totk finally like.. broke through that trauma, and let me be happy and go back to my favorite comfort activity (roleplaying) again ♥

🌻This idea goes against my Revalink love but what if Revali despised Link because besides being given recognition and praise for only being the choosen one, he actually fancied Mipha.
And after knowing Mipha was in love with Link, that just justified his hatred even more.
Imagine fighting alongside the person you love, and the person she loves and you hate.

YouTuber AU
Hello welcome to Dating Scandal but with Twitter Involved (nightmare)
A little exposition here:
Link, Zelda, Sidon, Revali, and Riju are the most popular group of youtubers on the internet and have a huge fanbase that likes to theorize, draw fanart, and write fanfiction about them. Disclaimer, I don’t actually interact with real-person fandoms myself lol there’s just too much potential for drama and misunderstandings & they’re always bound to end in a dumpster fire but that is sort of what this au is about so.
Impa, Mipha, Daruk, and Urbosa are family friends that appear in a lot of their videos/streams.
(This is an art blog I swear)
enter vidcon 20XX
Link:
blows stuff up/sets stuff on fire with a side of cooking vids and gaming
most are filmed outside, he does those challenges where you try to cook stuff with limited ingredients/materials
has the largest fanbase of all of them, but not the most…intimidating.
does a lot of collab videos, mostly with Impa, Daruk, and Riju because they have similar interests/channels, but Zelda appears in his videos and is seen filming and the stans read too far into it
simps. i’m pointing at you.
Most popular videos are “shield surfing on rock!—how I broke my leg” “can Daruk eat Impa’s motorcycle?” and “how to inhale ranch dressing.”
Twitter handle is @ arsonistslullabye because he’s a hozier fan
45m subs
Zelda:
theories, analyses, conspiracies, and the occasional e x p e r i m e n t
she once got link to eat a frog for 50 bucks.
most people argue that she’s better than more popular YouTubers because she actually has quality content to give to the world and she has a lot of defensive supporters
She used to get a lot of hate before Urbosa spoke up about it and scared the bejeezus out of everyone
has an actual posting schedule
“Happy Sunday everyone, it’s Zelda Hyrule and today we will be talking about cryptozoology and why blupees exist, you cowards.”
Twitter handle is @ zeldaofhyrule and she is pan. just so you know. One of those calm extroverts that mystify me to this day.
18m subs
Sidon:
fashion/life hacks. Like gourmet troom troom but if they were real people.
Has the 2nd largest fanbase
most of them are girls
Sidon has a boyfriend though, which he told everyone at VidCon a few years ago
cue the drama and shipping and the entire fandom trying to figure out who the boyfriend is. A well known reddit thread emerged that presented the common guesses being Link, Sidon, and Zelda.
“But it can’t be Zelda, Sidon’s gay.”
“I’m not in the fandom but I thought Zelda was a boy??”
“Did you just say Sidon? Is that a typo? Are you saying that Sidon’s dating himself?”
Sidon x Sidon became a fandom joke.
Don’t look at me I’m just setting up all the worldbuilding. every fandom has their weird dark sides and Sidon x Sidon is the Linkcest of the Sidon YT fandom.
Mystery BF is actually Bazz, a pretty inconspicuous guy who appeared in a few of his videos. This was confirmed a year ago, but everyone still ships him with other YouTubers because they’re convinced he was lying to throw them off his scent. He really can’t catch a break and this is why you should not ship real people.
Twitter handle is @ officialprincesidon
says “beguiling” a lot
21m subs ᕙ( ͡❛ ▿ ͡❛)ᕗ
Mipha:
Sidon’s sister, hasn’t posted a single video but just has the channel for show because she appears in so many of Sidon’s videos as a model for his makeup tutorials and whatnot
has 328k for that. Everyone loves her, she’s great. @ mimipha
Revali:
Link’s sworn rival
Link thinks they’re friends
He kept popping up in link’s Twitter threads and making snarky comments until zelda called him out for not even following link (so why was he stalking his acc) which kept the Twitter drama to a minimum
Revali was the catalyst of a few popular memes and that’s where most of his subs come from.
drags link into a few challenges that always get a ton of views because of how competitive they get
“ITS JUST ASININE” is a running joke that everyone tries to get him to say. His @ is itsjustasinine as well
Urbosa is the only person who can win an argument with him
5m subs and growing rapidly. newer to youtube than everyone else.
Impa:
Doesn’t have a channel she’s just a mutual friend of Mipha, Zelda, and Link
Rides a motorcycle, so she is used in a few of Link’s videos.
@ ihaveamotorcycle because she thinks having a motorcycle is a personality trait. the most unruly on Twitter when it comes to replying to fan’s stuff, leaking upcoming videos and generally causing chaos.
Mipha’s girlfriend. That’s how she met Zelda and Link.
Urbosa:
Is actually a model, but she has a ton of YouTuber friends because she’s known Zelda since birth.
when she entered the youtube community she didn’t realize she would be adopting like 15 children
5m subs. her videos are professional & related to her modelling career. @ urbosasfury
I feel like she would do unboxing vids. I’m not sure what she’s unboxing.
Daruk
Just a friend of Link’s, fun guy. yells a lot. once ate a rock and had no reaction.
people are scared of him for that reason
Riju:
yoga & gymnastics & “ha look at how flexible I am its eAsY” videos
you know the type
she also does reactions and is sponsored by save the sand seals charities which she is very enthusiastic about. She’s also Urbosa’s niece and the only minor in the gang (15). I like to think that the champions YT community is actually not creepy so everyone respects her a ton
doesn’t post frequently, she mostly appears in Link’s videos to jump out of airplanes or whatever. And sometimes Zelda’s if she’s interested in the topic. 500k subs, but she’s always really popular when she appears in Link’s videos.
VidCon:
In the months leading up to VidCon, some fans on the internet made a few discoveries: first of all, that the inside of Link’s house is painted green. This is a big deal because all of his videos are filmed outside either in his backyard or on trips that he and the brosquad go on to do…whatever bros do. explosions. idk. The point is he had some announcement about VidCon and filmed it inside. Only the wall and a potted plant were shown.
However, the colour was similar to the the shade of Zelda’s living room. Fans dug through years and years of old videos and found a clip of Zelda walking through a hallway, where there was an open door and a glimpse of a houseplant.
There were 2 types of responses to the theory:
“They could just be roommates guys calm down”
“and they were ROOMMATES?”
others pointed out that Link could just not have a house and had to crash in Zelda’s
Some guy on reddit claimed he had a botany degree and declared that the houseplants in the clips were not of the same genus. Normal people pointed out that the plant would have grown 4 years between the clips and would look considerably different.
#Zelink trended on twitter for a while and people posted other old clips from both of their channels and the frog video blew up again
Impa retweeted a post tagged as #zelink with “rofl” and later publicly apologized for causing confusion.
Fans noticed that in the “can a motorcycle drive over my arm” (it was clickbait he’s fine) episode 2 years ago, Link was eating out of a paper lunch bag with his name written on it in handwriting that a few people claimed to look like Zelda’s, leading people to believe that she had packed him a lunch.
However, this theory was shot down with the counterargument that Zelda can’t cook. although. i mean how much skill do you need to make a sandwich.
No one knows what tumblr is doing at this time
Zelda wore a scarf in her “Save the Sand Seals” video that matched identically to the scarf Link wore when he travelled to Hebra to film a shield surfing video, but it’s been debated wether it’s actually the same scarf or not.
Neither Zelda nor Link has spoken up about the theories, and besides Impa’s one slip on twitter, neither has any of their friends. Zelda received a lot of backlash for the assumption that she was dating Link because he has a lot of delusional fans that didn’t want her to “steal their man” or whatever the hell that type of fan would get mad about
Oh yea and bolson & karson run a zelink fanpage on twitter sorry I forgot about that
after that whole mess, everyone was even more anticipant of VidCon in the hopes that some of their questions would be answered.
The whole batch went to VidCon this year: Link, Impa, Daruk, and Riju are a gang while Sidon and Mipha go together and Zelda & Revali each go separately. Urbosa is there for supervision moral support
Zelda has always been much better at dodging questions that she doesn’t want to answer than anyone else, so her Q&A went without a hitch. When asked to confirm the rumours she said “which one?” and then moved on to the next question (without actually confirming any rumours).
Link is generally a more awkward person but eventually said that he had filmed the video in Zelda’s house because it was nicer and didn’t realize it would cause such an uproar. Fans were disappointed, but Bolson claimed he saw Link and Zelda exiting the hotel elevator on the same floor after Link’s Q&A session. No one believed him.
Fans went back to theorizing over who Link, Zelda, and Sidon were all dating, because apparently they can’t just be dating unknown people and have to be with other YouTubers
Sidon and Bazz got engaged about a week after VidCon, making at least 4 preteen girls cry
actually try 4 million
Sidon x Sidon made a brief comeback but Sidon spoke up about his fandom for the first time ever on twitter and told everyone that no, he was not dating himself. eventually, everyone settled down and accepted that none of them were in a relationship save for a few loud fans.
Link and Zelda still got the occasional “when will you tell us who you’re dating?” comment but most of them were joking and the people who still hardcore shipped them were generally frowned upon. Zelda’s popularity went up after VidCon and she regained the 200k subscribers she’d lost after the first theory dropped.
Two months after VidCon, Link posted a video titled “Zelda and I’s House Tour!” and gave around 45 million people a heart attack
as revealed in the video, they had actually been dating since they were 16 and everyone’s just a fool.
the potted plant is named Hestu.

fandom: age of calamity, botw rating: g starring: prince sidon and mipha note: spoilers for both games
"You know, Daruk’s my idol,” Yunobo says. He pumps his fists in the air like a kid at a fun fair in line for the big pirate ship ride. “They say he was the coolest Goron there ever was. Plus he had a beard. I think beards are awesome.”
“Great,” Sidon says. He stops peeling the mandarin in his hands for long enough to look up blankly at him. "Mipha was my sister."
the age of calamity, side b.
The thing about time travel is, even if someone stands in front of you and tells you point-blank that there’s a way to bring your dead sister back to life, you’re probably not going to believe them.
“I don’t believe you,” says Sidon.
“Okay,” Teba says patiently, fluffing his feathers with an absent glide of his wing. “Try harder.”
Sidon stares at him. He tries harder, though he’s not sure what that entails and so doesn’t end up really doing anything. “I don’t get you.”
“Which part don’t you get?”
“I get to see Mipha again?”
Teba’s eyebrow twitches. “Let me put this as simply as I can, Prince,” he says, a little too loudly. The soldier stationed at the bottom of the staircase turns to look at them. “We’re going to go back to the point a hundred years ago at which the four champions were killed in their divine beasts. We’re going to save them. We’re going to make sure they defeat Ganon before he can send Hyrule into ruin. And then we’re going to leave.”
By now, they’ve caught everyone’s attention. It’s been a long time since a hundred years ago, but here in Zora’s Domain it still feels like the events of last Tuesday, to be recounted over salt tea and fish skewers, to be mourned over an empty coffin. Everyone’s staring at the big white bird with the angry eyebrows, a little curious, a little apprehensive. For what he’s worth, Teba is indifferent. This much will not faze him.
Sidon twiddles his thumbs behind his back, where Teba cannot see them and the guards at the bottom of the staircase can point and laugh all they want. To be honest, he heard nothing. His heart stopped when he heard ‘killed in their divine beasts’, at which point a watery monster punched its way into his skull and crushed his brain. The monster is nothing concrete, nothing crystal-clear, just what little Link has told him, bits and pieces of a history he was prevented from taking part in. It’s been several months since the kid dragged his beaten-up body halfway across Hyrule and kicked Ganon’s ass, though they’re still feeling the after-effects of that particular calamity today. Mipha’s statue still looms over their heads, a reminder of what it means to die alone and far away from home.
“So,” Sidon starts, hearing his voice echoing in his ears like metal slicing through air. “What you’re saying is, I get to see Mipha again.”
Teba looks like he wants to grab one of the guards’ spears and stab Sidon in the face, but for what he’s worth, he reigns it in. “Yes.”
“Okay.” He grins. “I’m in.”
::
He tried to fight a lynel when he was fifteen. The domain had been overrun with monsters who had arrived for the pre-party to Ganon’s return, including an outstanding number of wizzrobes, several moblins, and a tall, intimidating figure which spat electricity from its pink-tongued mouth and whose name he couldn’t recall. While his father, the king, and his sister, the princess, breezed through the area like a lightning strike, reclaiming keeps and stabbing moblins with silver teeth so their generals could forge a path ahead, Sidon reveled in the wonder of being left unsupervised at four a.m. in the morning. And then heard the familiar, haunting roar of a lynel. And then decided to go and say hi.
It was a mistake, of course. The lynel was so tall he couldn’t make out the gear on its back. Its face was all squished up, like a birthday cake that had been stepped on, and its horns were too big for its thick, blocky nose. This was funny for all of five seconds. Then the lynel extracted a bow from that unknowable space behind it and aimed the sharp end of an arrow at his face, and it became a problem.
“H-h-h-hi,” said Sidon, holding up his Kid Spear, which was strictly for Kid Use Only, and had the offensive capabilities of a stick.
“RHOOARHGHHGHH,” said the lynel.
He jabbed the Kid Spear at the lynel’s leg. The lynel spat at him, though probably unintentionally, as it seemed preoccupied with the arrow it was trying to send into his face. It was stuck. The big scary lynel’s bow was stuck.
Emboldened by the stupid scary lynel’s broken bow, Sidon decided to try again. “Please go away, Mr. Lynel,” he said in his best and most charming Kid Prince voice, twirling his Kid Spear like a sweet jellyfish skewer.
“RHOAHOARHAGHOGHHHH,” said the lynel, who sounded significantly angrier than before.
“I understand,” Sidon said politely, and then closed his eyes and sent a prayer to the goddess Hylia (the way he had been taught to since he was old enough to speak, the way every child in Hyrule knew that there was a place for them to go to after they left this world behind). He braced for impact, which he hoped would be of the violent sort, earth-shattering and brisk enough to break his bones and leave nothing breathing in its wake. He was fifteen, not five. This was Ganon’s era. Every living creature in Hyrule knew this, the way their ancestors woke up and knew which direction the sun would rise from. Not if, but when. When the Calamity strikes. When your people die. When the knight emerges from the woods with the sacred sword in his hand, and saves you all.
But none came. When he opened his eyes, and he did so reluctantly, adrenalin coursing through his veins like thunder, the world was pitch black. In place of the cool blue moon was his sister, her ceremonial gear glittering darkly, the Lightscale Trident glowing like a star in her right hand.
“Holy shit,” whispered Sidon the kid. Mipha stabbed the lynel in the face.
She hugged him when it was all over and they had put the moblins and the wizzrobes and the electric moblin (so that’s what it was! Terrifying) back to sleep. Their father was upset, but he was frequently upset at Sidon and so it didn’t bother him as much as it could have. Sidon was not Mipha. It was all right if he got things wrong, as long as his sister never did. Coincidentally, the Hylian princess had been in the area at the time of the attack, accompanied by a knight with blue eyes and a Sheikah warrior who looked like she would throw a knife at a fish for sport. It was a good thing Mipha had been at home, and not visiting one of the other tribes or hunting for crabs near Lurelin. It was a good thing she had intervened when she had, lest the pre-party become the real thing.
“Thank you,” said the Hylian princess, trying her best to smooth her brow and failing. She looked anxious, though she had only come to pass on her father’s word, though the word that she had brought was victory.
Mipha smiled at her with a face full of sun. “It is my pleasure.”
::
He wishes the egg could talk. If the egg could talk then Teba would have less reason to talk, and if Teba talked less then Sidon would have less of a raging headache, which which would make him less of an asshole, which would make their discussions go much more smoothly than the janky, sputtering mess they’ve been all week.
“As I was saying,” says Teba, continuing whatever train of thought he picked up on their way up to Goron City and then dumped unceremoniously by the side of the road. As he does this, Death Mountain spits a chunk of lava out of its steaming gaping top, which lands a few inches shy of his breastplate. He hops backwards without missing a beat and begins fanning himself with one wing.
Riju stops fiddling with the diamond circlet in her hands for long enough to give him a look of inquiry. “As you were saying?”
“I can’t wait to see Daruk.” Yunobo scratches his arm. It makes a sound like two large boulders grinding together. Riju drops the circlet.
“You’re only going to see him for a short while,” Teba comments over the sound of the egg blowing its top at Riju and Sidon plugging his ears with his fingers. “No point getting all worked up about it.”
“You’re just as worked up yourself,” Riju counters. Patricia barks. Teba flinches.
This is true. There are two things Teba won’t shut up about. In ascending order of importance, they are 1) when they should depart for the alternate timeline in which they will prevent their respective ancestors from getting their spirits trapped in giant mechanical monsters for a hundred years, and 2) how incredible Revali is. Because Revali was the most powerful Rito warrior that ever walked the land (or flew over it, or blasted bomb arrows at it, whatever). Revali singlehandedly invented an entire style of aerial combat which involves launching yourself into the air with an updraft that defies the laws of the universe and then setting your surroundings on fire. Revali killed god.
Teba looks like he wants to go back to his wife and kid in Rito village. Good for him. Not all of them have bodies to put in coffins. “I just want to meet him once,” he says quietly.
Yunobo laughs, and it sounds like two extra large boulders grinding together. “Me too, brother.” He picks up the diamond circlet from the floor and puts it on his head like some kind of weird hat. “I’m going to tell Daruk how great he is. And then I’m going to go home.”
::
One time when they were much, much younger, before he woke up one morning and Mipha was three times his height, one of the guards brought back some durians. The durians were misshapen and spiky and smelled intimidating, though Sidon wouldn’t go as far as to say that the smell was unpleasant. The guard had obtained them from a merchant in the Faron region. He hadn’t meant to purchase them, but they were the last of her stock and she said she could only head home once she had sold everything. He empathized her.
At first they tried to open the durians with their hands, but this only produced several pricked fingers and left ominous and eerily substantial bloodstains everywhere, so someone brought out a spear, almost drove it through the table, and someone else brought out a carving knife. Halfway through the spectacle of watching one of the guards, who was thirty-seven and enjoyed collecting glowing stones as a hobby, attempt to de-spike an entire durian, the crowd parted abrutpyl.
“What are you all doing?” Mipha put her hand absently on Sidon’s head. He had been watching the ongoing debacle out of some kind of morbid curiosity, standing on tip-toes so he could peek over the top of the table, though now he had apparently been relegated to armrest.
“Trying to open this durian, your highness.”
Mipha laughed. His sister’s laugh was a delicate, heartrending affair, like trying to pull weeds from the bottom of a lake without breaking them at the stem. The weather at home was always more or less divine, but whenever Mipha laughed, Sidon swore it blasted a hole right through the clouds. If there were no clouds, then the hole appeared in the fabric of the sky instead. Mipha, at her brightest, was a walking catastrophe of sun.
Still chuckling a little, like she’d been made privy to a secret that none of them knew about, Mipha stepped up to the cutting board. “You have to do it like this,” she said cheerfully, digging her fingers into a seam in the durian’s shell like she’d been dealing with danger all her life.
Cue gasping. Cue the horrors of childbirth.
The durian was sweet. It was also a little goopy, but Sidon was no stranger to things which stuck to your fingers and refused to let go (he was one of those objects when it came to his sister, who he could rarely be found more than an arm’s length away from on any given day), so he felt for the little spiky fruit, and decided that he would make an effort to bring some back home when he went traveling himself in the future. While he examined the inside of the durian’s shell, which had been hollowed of fruit and had the texture of rough sandpaper, the guards crowded around Mipha and demanded that she share her secret to not getting stabbed to death by the fierce and terrifying durian. But either she didn’t know how to explain it to them, or they weren’t very good at listening, because she remained the only one capable of cracking open a durian with her bare hands for many, many years, up until she died while fighting a watery manifestation of Ganon inside the divine beast she had been told by the king of Hyrule to pilot to victory’s end. Then it was someone else’s turn to take over.
::
Painkillers for fish are a tricky affair. To begin with, charmingly little research has been conducted into the biology of the fish-person because the Zoras simply aren’t interested in how their bodies work, and while others have offered to do so in their place, among them several enthusiastic Sheikah researchers and one Hylian with a thing for huge glowing orbs, his people have never cared enough to give their consent. It’s a unique kind of apathy, one which stems from a place of privilege, or denial. They are, as a general statement of fact, very good at both.
“This will help.” Yunobo hands him a rock roast. Where did Yunobo get a rock roast from? Sidon frowns. They’re in the middle of the desert.
“Thanks,” Sidon says. Smiles. Kind of, like, holds the roast up to his mouth and gives it a sniff. It doesn’t smell half as good as durian. He puts it down.
It takes him several days to make sense of the convoluted sequence of events that Teba presented to him that day on the front door of the world he had rebuilt from scratch, surrounded by mystique and glamor and promising, in a breath of cold air, to bring his dead sister back to life. This makes it sound like he’s finished making sense of it all and will thus never be confused ever again, but if he’s to be entirely honest, he still doesn’t get it. He wants to. He’s scared to. He won’t look Teba in the eye.
“We should get going soon, don’t you think?” says Riju, who is twelve and somehow more put-together than all four of them combined. She pulls another book from the shelf and leaves it on the pile on the desk.
Yunobo shrugs loudly. “Doesn’t make a difference when we leave, does it? We could leave for Hyrule in twenty years, and we’d still end up at the same place.”
“But I want to save them,” Riju says earnestly. The pile behind her has been growing all afternoon, and will soon overtake her in height if she is not stopped. Mission preparation looks like archaeological excavation when you’re traveling backwards in time, and not forwards to some yet unknown destination. Ancient Sheikah records. Research journals. The writings of people who were obsessed with the events of a hundred years ago despite having no personal investment to speak of, and whose words carry with them a hint of reverence, even as they choreograph the funeral song of the old king. This is all that’s left of those ruins, aside from Link, who they’ve all quietly decided to keep uninformed of the current proceedings. Hyrule itself has been kept in the dark. No need for them to know about the maybes and the what-ifs and the could-have-beens. No need for more people to go crazy.
Sidon shuts the book in his hands with a thud. “But why?”
Riju’s eyes go wide. Drama queen. “Why what?”
Sidon opens his mouth, closes it, and opens it again. There’s a heat rash on the back of his neck which he can’t quite reach on his own. The elders had warned him about the desert, but the charm he received from Link has proven to be effective in all areas except for maintaining good skincare. He blinks dumbly at Riju, who has begun to flicker like the glassy surface of a pond. His eyes hurt.
“I mean, why do you.” His eyes hurt. His throat hurts. There’s something large and horrible stuck in his chest, and he can’t get it out. “Why do you want to save them?” There’s a durian in his rib cage. It must have lodged itself there when Teba glared at him like he was an idiot as he came face to face with the cruel reality of the universe, and it dawned on him like a dead body falling out of the sky that he would get to see Mipha one last time, and then he would have to come back. To a Hyrule without her. To the stupid stuck-up world that had to try again and again and again, coughing up blood and dragging itself through the dirt on bruised knees, before it could defeat the monster. “It’s not like they’ll come back to life,” he says, each word a silver knife in his mouth. “They’ll stay dead here. They’re already dead.”
Silence.
Riju has let everything go, including the diamond circlet, the topaz earrings, and three volumes sheathed in gold. Yunobo’s mouth is open so wide, you could stick your head inside and take a look around if you leaned in close enough. For the first time since he met him, Teba is at a loss for words. His chest rises and falls erratically, his hand on the bookshelf quivering, his eyebrows doing a little dance on his forehead. He’s sweating. Of course he is. They’re in the desert.
Riju, Hylia bless her soul, is the first to speak.
“It’s the spirit of things,” she says softly. She looks sadder than any twelve-year-old should ever have to look. But then and again, Sidon was barely old enough to hold a spear with both hands when his sister died and everything went to shit. Then and again, everything goes away eventually.
Sidon stares at her helplessly for a moment, gulping the humid air of the library like a fish out of water, then gives up and walks out of the room. He spends the rest of the afternoon blowing bubbles in the pool beside Kara Kara Bazaar while the other three continue their work, and then buys a durian from one of the vendors and hacks it open with his spear. You can’t crack open a durian with your bare hands, unless you’re Mipha, in which case you can do anything. It’s a good thing, then, that she’s gone.
::
When they were children and they got into trouble, his father would always scold Mipha far more harshly than Sidon. Mipha was the older sibling, after all. She should know better. This dynamic remained firmly established between them even as Mipha grew into her role as princess, future ruler, and eventually, champion. Of course, the reprimandings grew less stern, but Sidon had a penchant for winding up in places he wasn’t supposed to be in and Mipha had a penchant for being with him whenever this happened. He secretly resolved to pay her back when he got older and was finally able to stand up to his father, and therefore explain that most of the things they got into trouble for were his idea. He would be the one to weep at his father’s feet while his sister looked on with a horrified expression, and in that moment she would understand how much he loved her.
Then she died. You can’t tell the story of Mipha without this part. Mipha was a humble, kind girl, and then she died. Mipha could crack open a durian with her bare hands, and then she died. Mipha was the pride of their people, and then she died, and she died, and she died.
You can’t change the past with the wave of a hand. You’re not a bird. You’re not a fortune-teller. You’re a fish-person with an empty coffin for a sister, and in a few weeks’ time, you’re going to save her specter.
::
“...What if I brought her back with me?”
“Huh?”
“Hahajustkidding. No way I’d do that. Not a chance.”
“Um. Do you need painkillers?”
“Thanks, but they don’t work on me. I’m over a hundred years old, you see. Us Zoras, we’re different.”
::
The day before departure. They’re back at Zora’s domain. It’s raining. Teba is running through a checklist of items to bring with them which is so long, he has to hold it above his head to prevent it from touching the floor. Riju is feeding Patricia mandarin peels.
“You know, Sidon.”
Sidon looks up from his mandarin. “Mm?”
Yunobo grins at him. “Daruk’s my idol,” he says proudly. He pumps his fists in the air like a kid at a fun fair in line for the big pirate ship ride. “They say he was the coolest Goron there ever was. Plus he had a beard. I think beards are awesome.”
“Great,” says Sidon, as enthusiastically as he can, because he genuinely wants to be happy for Yunobo who is finally going to meet his idol and has clearly dreamed about this moment for some time. He wants to be happy for all of them. He fucking wants to. This is a rescue mission, not the imprisonment Princess Zelda walked into in Hyrule castle, not the hundred-year nap Link took on the Great Plateau. This is a happy ending, even if it’s not theirs.
Daruk the idol. Urbosa the warrior. Revali the bird. Sidon pictures them in his head, the way Link described them to him once, his voice carrying across the water like beams of light.
“Mipha was—”
He stops peeling the mandarin in his hands, his nails still embedded in the soft skin of it, the white-tinged flesh peeking out like a wound. Outside, the rain keeps falling. A river of tears from the sky.
Yunobo tilts his head to the side. “Mipha was?”
Mipha was the pride of their people. Mipha was the first person he wanted to live forever. Mipha was the only one he knew who could crack open a durian with her bare hands, like she was peeling open the heart of a monster, only to reveal that it had been something soft and scared all along. Mipha was a flesh-and-blood person. Mipha was the light of their world. Mipha is an empty coffin with a name inscribed on the lid, a house with the lights off, a memory drenched in ocean.
Yunobo prods his shoulder, though he barely feels a thing. “Mipha was?” he repeats kindly, herding him along to the end of the line, to the boat at the edge of the water.
Sidon puts the mandarin away. He stares long and hard at Yunobo, and hopes that his eyes will convey the wound his body no longer knows how to carry.
“Mipha was my sister.”
::
Let’s say you’ve been entrusted with the future of your kingdom. There’s a bad guy coming, and everyone’s scared to death, so you learn how to pilot this big robotic elephant which shoots turrets of water like a machine gun, and you get really good at it, and when the bad guy arrives on your new friend’s birthday suddenly you can’t do it anymore. You’re trapped inside the giant elephant. You’re bleeding out all over the floor. Your chest hurts like something awful, and your vision is beginning to blur. Sensing your despair, the monster closes in on you, wielding that big blue trident like fury. It holds the sky up over your head, and as it does so you close your eyes. You send a prayer to the goddess Hylia (the way you have been taught to since you were old enough to hold your little brother in your arms, the way every child in Hyrule knows that there is a place for them to go to after they leave this world behind). You brace for impact, which you hope will be the gentle sort, a slap to the wrist that’s conclusive enough to break your bones and leave nothing breathing in its wake. You’re twenty, not five. This is the end of all things as you know it. Every living creature in Hyrule knows this, the way their ancestors woke up one day and knew that this world would come to ruin. Not if, but when. When the Calamity strikes. When everyone you’ve ever loved dies. When you walk into the mouth of the elephant, and the elephant changes its mind, and decides to keep you in its belly forever.
None arrives. You open your eyes slowly, hesitantly, fear a living memory in your bones, but you are not faced with the stinging end of a trident. In its place is a boy almost three times your height, his eyes glittering darkly, the spear in his right hand shining like a star.
He is not your brother. But, Hylia bless you all, he is.
So what can you say, when the evil has been defeated and you are standing on the balcony of the castle, smiling up at him through tears while this big overgrown baby stares at you like you’re the answer to the universe, except:
We’ll definitely meet again, won’t we?
He flinches, but you don’t ask, and he doesn’t say why. He pulls you into an earth-shattering, bone-crushing hug. It’s a beautiful day to be alive, the sun shining like sin, Hyrule’s beaten but stubbornly breathing carcass laughing up at you from the fields below. He takes your hands in his. He’s shivering. He’s shaking from head to toe.
Of course, he says in the kindest, saddest voice you’ve ever heard, though he has only come to pass on someone else’s words, though the word he has brought is salvation. From now on, I’ll always be by your side.
: : : : :
You smile at him with a face full of stars.

I have the idea of revali who's being an annoying tsundere with reader(kinda the way he acts with link or saying things like "you don't know how lucky you are to be with me") but, one day, reader find a rito mask. When revali sees them, he doesn't recognize them, acts friendly and towards him, making reader fall in love with him. When they confess their love in the rito form, revali deny them saying that he's in love with reader. It can go angst or fluff. Also if the reader could be neutral/male
No problem, it's actually the first time I see headcanons with a male/neutral reader, but I don't deny it, Revali being tsundere it just suits right.
Also, I'm so sorry for taking so long, I imagine a lot of things but it was SO long to write.
I hope you like it ✨
Revali being a tsundere with reader (neutral/male).
Tumblr media
At first, Revali is pretty much of a gentleman.
He's not someone who is disrespectful to other people, less with the Rito.
But he's an asshole with Link and, sadly, you.
The most sad part for Link, is that Revali treats you better.
That doesn't stop him for teasing you A LOT.
He seems that he doesn't mind your company.
No, actually, he doesn't even seems like he cares about you.
But you two always find each other together, for some reason.
I wonder what it could be....
He always invites you to practice with each other.
At first it seems like a really good idea, but....
You always find him overworking himself.
Of course, you're worried about him, but if you get any closer, he'll just pretend he's just fine, like nothing happened.
“You seem like you want to impress someone with all that work...”
“Don't overthink yourself... I do it just for the protection of my village”
“I was going around Rito Village, some guards where talking you've been wondering something about sword or other kinds of weaponry, it's weird since you focus so much on archery”
“You have some problem with me want to know more of how the little knight and you fight? Of course I know this stuff already, I'm a warrior after all”
“Hmm... Link is not going to answer anything, but you can ask me if you want...”
“I could never be a problem in your training”
“Then why you have been inviting me to practice here?”
“I want to be sure you are well prepared, and you must feel so lucky, you're being trained for the great Revali, there's no other archer with my skill”
You two always have this kind of conversations, but Revali always finish them with something egocentric like that.
You didn't like him a lot, he sometimes just acted nice but out of nowhere, he starts acting like a douchebag.
But you see him how he treats other people, like princess Mipha and princess Zelda, he treated them kindly.
One day, wandering at a forest, you found a mask.
A rito mask, there was details that resemble their marks, it had some kind of beak.
You out of curiosity, grabbed it and use it thinking it was just a mask.
But seconds after you transform into a Rito.
Terrified you go running to the Rito village, probably to find princess Zelda, Link or other Champion except for Revali.
“Alright... Revali is always on the practice range, there's no way he's gonna be on the same time as you at Rito Village”.
Surprise ✨he was at the same time as you in Rito Village✨
You thought he was going to notice it was you, and start make fun of you.
But he didn't even notice it.
He treated you... Well, normally, with respect, without mocking you or anything.
“I never saw you in Rito Village, are you a traveler?”
You just nodded at that question, in fear he might recognize your voice.
“You can't talk? I have encounter some Rito with that disability”
Oh he didn't even react like he reacted with Link, and you thought he didn't like the ones who don't talk.
You decide to talk, since you don't know how is the sign language with the Rito, and you would not take risks with this.
“No, I do not have any type of disability”
You prayed to Hylia so he can't recognize your voice.
He was kind of surprised, you don't know if it was your voice or that you can talk.
“My mistake, I don't want to be disrespectful with any Rito, what's your name?”
"Shitshitshitshitshitshit, now what I'm going to do?" You thought in exasperation.
You came up with a random name but enough to be Rito like.
He didn't mind, he still treated you like a friend.
“Are you gonna stay some days? There's a flight range on the Hebra Mountain, you can go and practice any time you want, if something happens, you can find me all day there unless I'm busy with Vah Medoh”
Maybe you wanted to continue talking to him in your rito form.
You two started spending more time together.
You were really worried for the mask.
When it's going to let go? What are you even supposed to do?
You tried to find out anything about mask that transform you into completely different species.
Sadly, you didn't find much, just some old tales, but nothing out of that.
You continue spending time with Revali even going to the flight range.
You come up with excuses, he believe them.
You fall in love with him, he never treated you like that.
You decide to confess your feelings.
It didn't go as planned...
He didn't feel the same.
You contained the crying, you were kind of used to that.
“My apologies, but... I already have someone else who I'm actually interested in, he's the most strong, intelligent Hylian and their beauty is... Unexplainable, I might have the ability of defeating, singlehandedly, an army of monsters, but once he's there, my eyes can't stop looking at them... I must reject this confession, but I'm proud of at least young Rito are interested in becoming better then me, I have to go... There's some matters with the Champions, and it's important, excuse me...”
Now I write it, this seems like Revalink, not my favorite ship but holy cow.
You need to take that mask off, NOW.
You had no other choice but to tell the Champions.
You go as fast you could.
You didn't know how to fly, at least for too long.
You get to the castle and asked to see the Champions.
Of course.... They didn't let you.
Because, you know... A weird Rito just asking to see the Champions.
Then you asked to at least know where Impa was, you said it was important.
That time they took you with her.
“My apologies, but one of the appointed knights of the princess is missing, we haven't know about him for days, please tell anyone else about your problem, I'm occupied with their research”
“I think I know where they are...”
You explained everything to Impa except for the part of falling in love with Revali.
Of course, she didn't believe at first, but when you continue explaining and saying things that no one else does just.... You, she believed you.
“Then what's your excuse of not telling the champions?”
“Being fair, I thought it would make no difference and Revali makes it worst”
“ You're Zelda's appointed knight, not a teenager with anxiety, you must know that you must be brave in order to protect your princess, let's go with Purah, she must know about this”
You two decide to try keep it secret, but sadly, the Champions were with Purah.
“Who is this unexpected guest Impa?”
“Your majesty, they have something to explain, please hear closely, it might sound crazy but it's not”
You tried to explain everything the best you could, omitting the part of Revali, you just said that you never talked to him.
Revali was more then surprised, Urbosa was calmed about it, Daruk and Mipha were confused. Zelda and Link were curious about it, but he just watch form behind.
Purah didn't knew much about but she did everything she could to help you.
It was kind of difficult to take oof the mask, but you made it.
Ngl, it was a little bit painful.
The mask disappeared after they remove it.
Purah asked you how do you found that mask and you answered.
After it, Revali asked you to talk in private, he seemed distracted.
You go to somewhere private and talked with Revali, first of all, he apologized for acting the way he does with you and for not at least recognizing your voice.
“I've been worried about you all those days, wandering where you could be, the guards didn't find a sign of you anywhere, I feared that... Some of those Yiga members where captured you or worst...”
“I'm just one of the assigned knights for Zelda, also I can't use the master sword or posses any kind of magic that can destroy Ganon they might see me just as another guard”
“It doesn't matter, all the Champions were worried about you...”
“I know.... Also, about what I said to you in the rito form... Can you forget about it? Please”
He smirked, he seemed to take that as a joke.
“I could never forget the confession of the most important Hylian for me”
“That's the thing, on the moment I wasn't a Hylian, I was a Rito, it seems you liked me better like that...”
“That's not true, if I liked you better as a rito, I would have accept your confession”
“I don't think being a Hylian would change anything...”
“Who told you that? I can't recall mentioning that”
If I continue writing dialogue, this will be a frickin one-shot, and I already have a lot to edit.
You two decide to spend more time together with some conditions.
Revali will be honest and you don't disappear out of nowhere and for a long time.
After spending time together, the bond between you and him was pretty solid for a relationship.
Revali never let go his tsundere side, but he can't help it.
And rest is history.....

I've got the perfect scenario for amnesia mk! Breath of the wild! After a disaster at the palace, and mk took a nearly fatal blow for red, red ultimately decides to pit mk in stasis for a long time( 100 years to be exact). Then after the 100 year slumber, mk wakes up only to have a bad case of jet lag and having no memory of his past with only his name to hold on to. Red is held captive in a now ruined palace surrounded with cursed bull clones due to the WBS's control. mk finds his memories next
Oh, a Breath of the Wild AU sounds kind of fun!! Might be kind of fun to mix in elements of Link’s journey in that game to the actual Journey to the West novel.. so like, MK wakes up and stumbles around with no memory for a bit, but it’s not that there’s a big castle in the distance that’s got a big “COME HERE” danger aura to it, but instead he’s being guided by visions of his friends to go on this journey across the land to find where he has to fight to defeat the Baigujing.
I kind of prefer it to be Wukong who is in the palace holding back WBS though.. partly because if Wukong is just out and about doing his thing and not helping this situation that’s kind of a dick move, but also MK going to help out his mentor who has been holding back this great evil on his own all this time could be just as compelling as him going to rescue his love interest... also I’m thinking about who each of the four champions would be and I’m comparing Revali to Red Son in my mind and it’s just very good! ..and just to lay out all the other ones, Mei as Urbosa, Pigsy as Daruk, and Sandy as Mipha. ...I guess if you wanted to keep the original shipping dynamics from the game you could put Red as Mipha since there’s a lot of romance implied between those two characters, but we don’t have to adhere strictly to those dynamics, and Red is too much of a hot head to be a believable Mipha lol. Oh and obviously Tang is still alive (secretly being Tripitaka and all) but isn’t much help except as a guide, so maybe he comes along with MK to help him out.. I’d compare him to Impa from the game.
Now I’m also imagining a BOTW map inspired by some cool chinese landscapes.. what I wouldn’t give to be able to climb to the top of the mountains in Zhangjiajie as Link and jump off and paraglide back and forth between them omg :U

Age of calamity Full review
This is not spoiler free!
TL:DR its not that its a bad game exactly, just that i have a shit ton of criticisms about it
So because i wanna ramble its gonna be confusing so im gonna split it into groups so the ramblings make sense
The gameplay
I actually love the dynasty warriors gameplay! admittedly i’ve only played hyrule warriors before this, but i still love the gameplay! The rods were a nice touch, but i wish you could BUY apples instead of having to find them
also what was with the reccomended levels? we went from reccomened level 6 to level 28 inbetween 2 consecutive levels
The Story
HOO BOY. The game was initially marketed as a prequel, and even though i had my doubts that the champs were gonna die onscreen and have nintendo leave it at that (zelda is STILL a kids game guys) it was somehow worse than i expected? lots of people have said it felt like a fanfiction and they arent wrong. timetravelling egg, ze//ink being pushed on us (ill explain later) The villain being that (also later) The yiga clan. Like it started off fine, but right after hyrule castle is when it started to get bad
The music
So the music was pretty good! I do have a few ones that i like, namely mipha, urbosa, and revali’s battle theme and Astors non battle theme. It was pretty good, but ill admit i dont remember a lot of it (im listening to the ost as i type this) Astors theme was a good theme, but it doesnt translate well into its battle theme.
The Voice acting
Its bad. It feels stale, the only character whose voice acting was REALLY good was khoga. When ninendo decided to go with voice acting for fire emblem 3 houses, they hired Patrick Seitz as a voice director, the way he directed the (already amazing) actors was spectacular. Idk who age of calamities Voice director is, all i know is its not the same guy
Listen to this video of the voice acting in fire emblem 3 houses, you’ll see what i mean
Astor
Yes, he gets his own segment i have that much to say
Astor had SO MUCH potential that was just wasted. when he was first announced, people noticed the gerudo symbol on his clothes that they did *nothing with*, so many theories came out, i was in a discord that notices that the thing he holds looks kinda like a corrupted giant core. I feel like when they made his only goal to make sure the calamity happens they made him a worse ghirahim (not that ghirahim was bad, ghirahim is y favorite villain, they just took all the good things about him, removed it and made astor.) also i feel hes gonna be dlc which is disappointing because i dont want to spend more money on this game. I think if he was from the same time as terrako, and only came back to stop terrako from fucking up the timeline it would have been more compelling. Speaking of which...
The egg
oh. my. god. The whole game i wanted to punt this thing. when i got the chance to beat it up in the last level i went FERAL over that. i still think that if zeldas bond with that egg is as deep as it wants us to believe, zelda wouldn’t’ve needed to hear it sing to remember it. i cannot tell you how much i cringed when the “hes a knight as well” line happened.
Zelda
Its not a secret that i dont like botw zelda. but this game just made me dislike her more. maybe it was the fact that the game was so focused on her feeling sorry for herself that annoyed me? maybe it was *still* her voice? maybe it was the...
Zelink
*Disclaimer* i am a multishipper* when it comes to zelda games. i ship zelink in skyward sword and spirit tracks (i ship Midzelink in tp so that sorta counts) i dont think he ship itself is bad.
*As long as its not like pedophillic, incest, or just creepy
The way almost every cutscene with link and zelda is like pushed romantics, we dont see any of the resentment between them from botw. they pushed off mipha and link, which was one of the things that interested me about botw, with like 2 lines about it, only between mipha and daruk. D a r  u k
Have i covered everything? i think so, but its like 12 am and im tired

Obligatory revali 👀
AH YES i was waiting for this
favorite thing about them:
everything? everything? everything?
his design. the intricacy of his character!!!!!!! his EYES.
like. hooouugghhhh im passed my phase of being horny for hiM BUT LIKE
Tumblr media
THIS JUST PULLS ME BACK BRO HOOOOOOOOOOUGH hRRRNNNGGHHHHH
least favorite thing about them:
ok so in actuality im usually not a fan of the character trope of “i’m BETTER than you, you slimy disgusting bastard” but he’s just such a good character and like i said he is so INTRICATE and is SO complicated and that’s just so sexy of him
is that a least favorite thing about him? no. but i dont have one because he is my everything so get out
but if i have any complaint it’s the fact that he shrieked, “GOOD LUCK SEALING THE DARKNESS!!!!” in the eng dub instead of. idk. doing that cute fucking laugh like in all the other dubs. but what do i know im just the biggest revali stan on the face of the planet
favorite line:
i know it isn’t that deep when he said “Your job is far from finished you know” but out of context it’s really inspiring actually and sometimes gets me thru. that’s why its my blog name
and when he went tch.
and whenever he said something pompous
and basically whenever he said anything
brOTP:
idk if you could tell but Urbosa and Revali is my absolute fAVORITE. he looks up to her so much and values her opinion but won’t admit it. she’s like his big sister mom
also him and Zelda. Them doing each other’s hair? i cry
and him and Mipha. Him looking out for her but trying not to be too obvious about it ???????? shut UP.
OTP:
HMMMMMM I WONDER…..
we all kno im feral about revalink considering its been the center of my life for the past year and a half but . i dont want to admit it cuz i dont wanna be like that but quite honestly im just as feral about revali/meelo (reelo? meevali?) and routinely lay awake thinking about it. my hands are shaking thinking about it. oh fuck. oh god.
NOTP:
i can totally get behind the thought process behind Revali/Zelda and Revali/Mipha but i dont ship it and i’ll prolly never be into it
other than that there’s not really anything that fuels my rage
random headcanon:
whenever he’s practicing archery he glances over his shoulder to see if Link is watching
unpopular opinion:
revali is GOOD. if you come into my house and call him an asshole or whatever the sort i WILL break your bones and you WILL die
also now i want to throw up whenever i see ‘asinine’  PLS STOP USING IT WITH HIM I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE SAJGKDAKSGHKASGJDH
song i associate with them:
//rubs together my gross little fingers
i’ll do you better. i’ll give you many
silly revali song that i have an amv for in my head lol:
Me Too by Meghan Trainor
about revali’s selfishness and pride:
Blast Doors by Everything Everything
revali-centric revalink songs:
Drink About by Seeb and Dagny
Focus by Ariana Grande
revali’s lament in ehc,,,:
Again by Crusher-P
favorite picture of them:
ohhhhh fuck there’s so many to choose from SHIT
here’s some of my favorites by  うかた !!

6. Story with the most:
Kudos: two loves have i (275)
Bookmarks: two loves have i (34)
Comments: two loves have i (25)
9. Work I’m most proud of (and why):
on our way to twenty-seven! i was digging into some identity and sexuality issues that i myself have dealt with in the past and writing about it was the first time i’d really dove into some of that stuff, so i really enjoyed writing it and i think it’s some of my best.
i’m also really proud of i’m taking back the crown and i wish i could say why. i just really like the way it came out. writing oikawa as this desperate dethroned prince trying to reclaim his kingdom at any cost only to be beaten at his own game in his own home was just...ugh. it was so much fun to write.
10. Work I’m least proud of (and why):
one more time as if we planned it, definitely. i just felt super rushed writing it. it was for the one direction rarepair fest, which was super fun, but i had Just finished a longer fic a few days before this one was due and i initially tried to drop out because i thought i wouldn’t be able to finish it, but i did, but i still feel like it’s rushed and just not as good as it could have been if i’d planned better and given it some more time.
11. A favorite excerpt of your writing:
im gonna do what i did last year and post more than one, because 1. i can’t decide and 2. i quite honestly am pretty proud of a lot of what i wrote this year
from when the letter says a soldier’s coming home —
Tooru’s squealing somewhere behind them, and Hajime’s gruffly trying to get out the door, and he’ll have to call the school and make up something about being sick so he can spend the day catching up with Daichi, but it can wait. It can all wait. Because Koushi’s waited long enough. It’s about time the rest of the world waits for him.
from strawberries on a summer evening —
Suga hums against him, licking strawberry seeds from between Daichi’s teeth, like he’s just as intoxicated by Daichi as Daichi is with him. Daichi could live here, in this feeling, ignoring everything except how Suga sounds (like bliss personified), smells (like sunblock and sweat), tastes (like sugar and salt). He’s the hottest part of the summer, high noon in mid-August, just this side of too much to handle, but addicting in how it leaves you at its mercy.
from on our way to twenty-seven —
“Sorry, what was your name again?”
Tetsurou opens his mouth to say his American name, but he catches Daichi and Suga looking at him, and he swallows it down. “My name is Tetsurou. Tetsurou Kuroo.”
“I thought you wanted people to call you Tyler,” Timothy says.
Tetsurou shoots him a glare and says it again, feeling his confidence start to grow. “My name is Tetsurou Kuroo. Tetsu is fine, too, but I don’t go by Tyler anymore.”
12. Share or describe a favorite review you received:
any time tasteofsummersnow left me a comment, it made my heart go doki doki!! her comments are so in depth and so very sweet and it’s so much fun to see her real-time reactions to my writing. i go back and reread them like once a week they’re so nice ;_;
13. A time when writing was really, really hard:
the spring/early summer in general was tough, like from march to june. i didn’t post anything between february and may, and i feel like i was struggling a lot creatively around like may/june of this year. i think it’s because a lot of stuff in the 1d fandom was really turning me off at the time and that’s when the burnout fully hit.
14. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:
definitely sugawara in the city is at war. i was writing that first chapter and initially i just wanted to see him step up when daichi wasn’t around but he very quickly turned sadistic and ruthless and scarily sharp, which is just so much fun to write him as. and his relationship with daichi is just—ugh. love that violence-fueled romance. they would kill a hundred men for each other and be turned on once they were finished.
honestly, all of the city is at war has surprised me. the idea came to me in a dream on a long bus ride, of all the clan leaders having a meeting and being attacked, and i woke up and banged it out in 36 hours. i meant it to be a oneshot but as i wrote it, i realized i loved the au so much there was no way i could leave it at that. so now it’s got a whole plot and all that. fun!
15. How did you grow as a writer this year:
last year i said i felt i grew writing angst and exploring different emotional themes, and i think i built on that even more this year. i did a bunch of shorter pieces this year and i feel a lot of them really explored emotions and characters more than plot, and that’s been so much fun. and then as well, like i said before, i’ve branched out into the crime-action genre with the yakuza au. and! iwaoi horror week was my first real attempt at spooky/creepy/horror-type writing, and, it was a fun challenge for sure.
i also said i wanted to just keep writing and be spontaneous and i definitely did that this year. i posted so many fics not caring how long it had been since the last one—sometimes it was less a day. numbers stopped mattering to me. i posted just because i wanted to put my writing out there and share it with the world, knowing there had to be someone out there who’d like it.
16. How do you hope to grow next year:
i feel like 2019 was a year of trying a lot of new things, so in 2020 i’m hoping to explore some different ships and tropes. the sheer number of characters and ships in haikyuu means there’s a ship for just about every trope and au out there, and i want to play around with some dynamics i’ve never written before.
17. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):
as always, a shoutout to the loggies, who have been a fantastic source of inspiration and support all year even after i retired from 1d fic. and i would also like to thank the people i met via various hq discord servers—you know who you are!! thank you for the sprints, the encouragement, the inspiration, and the friendship. as someone brand new to the fandom, the support and sense of community has been nothing short of amazing, and you guys are part of the reason i felt so comfortable in this fandom so quickly.
18. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year:
actually, yeah. even mountains crumble into the sea was written the night before i broke up with my ex. i wrote it as an exercise to get all my feelings out, lay them all on the table where i could see them and pick through them, and then imagine the best possible way the scenario could go.
19. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:
honestly—just write! write what you’re happy with. write even if you don’t post it. write, because everything you do is practice that’ll help you improve.
and don’t be afraid to write out of order or write more than one project at a time. i know that won’t work for everyone, but for me, if i didn’t immediately write what was on my mind, i probably wouldn’t have posted half of what i did this year.
20. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:
hey remember last year when i said i was gonna finish the breath of the wild au?? L M A O i’m really gonna finish it next year i swear!!
i have a fic posting in the spring for the nsfw big bang which i’m ALSO very excited about! i’m lucky to be working with such a talented artist and the end result is gonna be amazing and i’m so so excited.
i also want to keep going with the city is at war, because that plot was a pleasant surprise. and there’s an ever-growing list of fic ideas and aus that i’m so excited to write—some of them were originally for larry aus but i’ve repurposed them for haikyuu pairings and that’s helped breathe new life into some old ideas.
21. Tag some writers whose answers you’d like to read.
anyone who sees this and wants to do it! just tag me, i wanna read your answers!

Two Left Feet - Revali x Reader Oneshot
This oneshot was actually requested by my friend @penelope-potter, and I thought this was so cute! So, thank you for this amazing idea!
Revali Teaching (or at east trying to teach) Reader to Dance
“It will be magnificent, (Name)! There will be elegant music playing, and a variety of different foods to taste!” Zelda exclaimed while twirling around her room; pretending to dance with someone. Meanwhile, you were sitting at her desk, and staring out the window; smiling.
It’s the middle of winter, and Zelda’s princessy girliness was starting to show. It’s not every day the most refined, mature princess dances around her room like a child. She - with the king’s permission - was throwing a winter gala to celebrate the year’s end. Of course, the only interesting thing Zelda mentioned was about the food. “Oh, and the dancing!”
You turned to face her and noticeably cringed. “Yeesh, count me out.” You grimaced.
Zelda stopped her waltzing, and looked at you. “Surely you’re joking. ” She hoped.
Uh oh, you thought. I can already tell this isn’t going to end well for me…
“Um… I don’t like where this is going…” You mumbled.
Zelda walked over to you. “Did no one tell you? All champions are required to dance at any formal gathering hosted by the royal family.” She explained.
“What?” You yelled; now on your feet. “Of course no one told me! I don’t remember signing up for this!”
~~~~
“I hate this…” You were currently sitting outside in the courtyard. It was cold and the fountain you were sitting in front of was frozen over, but your handmade champion’s cloak was specifically designed to keep you warm. You clung to it and pulled up your hood. “ This is truly the worst… I am so done for.” You rubbed your temples to calm your growing headache. “I’m gonna end up dying of embarrassment.”
“But if you die, who will keep me entertained?” You turned to your left to see Revali walking over to you. He then sat next to you. “I’ve never met anyone as witty as me, so it would be a shame if you died.”
You rolled your eyes and smiled. “Is that all I’m good for?” You wondered jokingly. “I swear you make me question your feelings for me.”
“Whatever makes you say that?“ He chuckled. “Now, why exactly are you vowing your death? I’m sure it’s only something trivial, but you do make me worry. Trouble follows you around quite easily, in case you haven’t noticed.” Revali joked.
You groaned and leaned your head against his arm. “Did you know we’re supposed to dance at the ball?” You asked.
“Yes, of course I did. No matter the occasion, the champions are required to dance to a piece known as the ‘Champion’s Ballad'… I assume you did not know.”
“No…” You sighed. “I’ve never even danced formally; Not once.”
Revali silently contemplated what he should do. He knows how to waltz - he’s been to more balls, cotillions, and galas than he can remember - but he wouldn’t consider himself the best dancer in the kingdom. Though, he couldn’t let his reputation of being perfect slip, either.
He tapped your shoulder so you’d get off of him, and he stood up; holding his feathery hand out toward you. “Come one, then.” He insisted calmly. “You look ridiculous; throwing yourself a pity party in weather like this.”
You, of course, took his hand, and he helped you up. Revali then led you around the castle hall, and you finally spoke up. “Um, where are we going…?”
“The ballroom. I’m going to teach you how to dance. He glanced back at you. “I will not let my love make a fool out of herself at a formal occasion.” You knew his words would’ve sounded pretty bad to anyone else, but you also understood that anything Revali did that involved you - whether he admits it or not - was out of love.
Finally, you both entered a large, spacious room that had large elegant windows. Besides a few chairs and such, the room was empty. “Alright,” Revali said while putting his bow down against a wall. “Let’s begin.”
At first, the lesson was going well. You were able to keep up with the he tempo Revali was giving you (a simple 1, 2, 3; 1, 2, 3), but the phrase “follow my lead” didn’t really make sense to you. Because of that, the lesson quickly went sour.
“No, stop looking down.” Revali commanded gently. You mumbled a quick sorry, and turned you head up; instantly stepping on his clawed foot.
You instinctively moved your foot back. “S-sorry… again.” You apologized quietly.
“It’s alright; I barely even felt it.” He replied. “You’re lighter than a Rito chick.” Suddenly, the Rito had an idea. “Here, stand on my claws.” Revali stated.
“Wait, what?”
He insisted again, and you complied. You were off the ground by an inch or so, and Revali began dancing around with you standing on him. You were much closer to eye level with him because of this. You laughed a bit. “This could actually work! If I wear a long dress, no one would even notice!”
“Precisely!” Your partner laughed along with you as he twirled you around the ballroom for another hour.
Two weeks later, the gala was about to begin, and the princess as well the champions were presented one by one. First was Princess Zelda and her appointed knight, Link. Next were the four champions including you. You wore a long fitting dress that was gifted to you by Zelda specifically for tonight.
Soon, the Champion’s Ballad began, and you all paired up with someone. Zelda was with Link, Urbosa with Mipha, Darul with his loving wife who was also invited, and you with Revali.
Once the music began, you quickly stepped up onto Revali’s feet and put your left hand on his shoulder while you grabbed his wing with your right. “You look nice.” You complimented with a smile.
Revali scoffed and said, “Of course! I couldn’t possibly look any less than perfect for an event like this!” You stared at him with expectant eyes, and he cleared his throat; avoiding your gaze. “Yes, but you- um, you look very nice, as well…”
You giggled and pecked his cheek. “Just know that I love you. I love you with all of my fucked up, piece of shit heart.” You mumbled.
“Well, that’s certainly one way to put it!” He chuckled while he nuzzled your neck a bit. Finally, he replied. “But, yes. I love you with every fiber of my being. Please, never question that…”
~~~~
I hope I’ve done justice to your request, @penelope-potter!
Also, I’ve decided to write in the second person, where the pronouns are you/your as to not offended anyone with the female pronouns. I know I could use they/their, but I’ll just mess that up somehow. Also also, if you find notice, I added a little champion's Ballad reference cuz I'm so excited for it, as well as one my own personal ships: Mipha x Urbosa! I have no legitimate reason for shipping them other than I like that, but whatever!
Don’t forget: Requests are always open!

Reawakened Memories
Link knew something was off.
Ever since his awakening in the Shrine of Resurrection, lacking all of his memories save for his skills as a fighter and his own name, the young hero had been receiving brief flashes of...something. It was as if he were viewing Hyrule through the eyes of another, seeing the land around him as it once was.
At first, he hadn’t known what it was--a vision was his best guess at the time. After all, he did have a voice that would speak to him in the back of his mind from time to time. Not his conscience, mind you, but another voice quite separate from his own internal conversations and debates, and a distinctly feminine one to boot.
After meeting with Impa, the Sheikah elder, however, Link found his answer. What he was seeing were memories--specifically, his own lost memories, which were slowly returning to him as he traveled across Hyrule. It was supposed, by the both of them, that the more he traveled, the more memories would return to him.
And, all things considered, that was what had happened. Just...to a degree neither Impa nor himself had expected.
Oh, certainly, as Link traversed the wilderness that had become Hyrule, the young Hylian regained many if not all of the more important memories of his past. Some were core to remembering the kind of man he had been before the Calamity, while others reminded him of those responsible for shaping him into that man.
He had sighed in the Zora Domain as he remembered Mipha, his childhood crush and closest friend. A Zora who had always doted and cared for him, no matter how reckless and stupid he might’ve been. He hadn’t deserved her friendship as a child, and many a night had been spent wondering what she had seen in him. Still, it was her influence that helped him become more careful, more weary when entering a dangerous situation.
In the Tabantha Frontier, he shook his head in amusement as he remembered Revali, who he could only describe as being his much needed rival. The Rito’s terse and derisive language towards the Hylian Champion had been just fire Link had need to throw out his paraglider, in a sense, and soar to greater heights than ever before.
He couldn’t help but chuckle when he remembered Daruk, the closest thing he could ever have to an older brother. The great boulder of a Goron had always supported Link in his endeavors, bolstering his confidence whenever he felt weak. That same confidence and strength Daruk embodied was one Link had spent years seeking after.
And in the wasteland of the Gerudo Desert, Link had smiled sadly as the memory of Urbosa, the mother he’d always wished for but never had, returned to him. The Gerudo chief was as compassionate and caring as she was terrifyingly powerful. While he could never wield the same terrifying power she did, his heart was more than capable of the compassion she exemplified.
And, of course, there were the countless memories of her.
The princess.
Zelda.
He remembered clearly every scathing glare shot his way, every frustrated huff as he followed close behind. Her constant rebuffing had only served to further temper the steel of his conviction, to prove himself worthy to her. He had been chosen by the sword as its Champion--now he had to prove himself to the princess that was the other half to their success against Ganon.
Once he had proved himself, though, his convictions had shifted. He came to know the princess herself--know Zelda, a scared teenager with the weight of the world on her shoulders and a fear of failure that almost eclipsed his own. He found a kindred soul, a companion he could never--would never give up on, and one he promised to himself he would protect and defend to his last breath.
Each of these memories he regained as he trekked across Hyrule, spurring him on in his quest to reclaim the Divine Beasts, reactivate the Ancient Shrines, and gain the power necessary to aid Zelda in defeating Ganon once and for all.
Yet amongst them, almost in the background, was something else. A niggling at the back of his mind that he couldn’t quite grasp.
It wasn’t until he first grasped the hilt of the Master Sword in the Great Hyrule Forest, with the Deku Tree staring down upon him and with hundreds of Koroks watching on in eager anticipation, that he realized exactly what that niggling was.
Memories.
However, though he felt a connection to these memories, they weren’t any that he recognized as his own. The Hyrule they showed was one he had never seen before, one much different than the one he had come to know as his home for so many years, especially after regaining so many of his memories. It was also inconsistent, and made his head spin.
In one memory, he was high in azure skies, the wind whipping across his face and ruffling the crimson feathers of his flying companion. In another he found himself adrift on the sea, lost within his own dreams. At one point, he found himself holding aloft a scepter, and in an instant summer turned to winter before his very eyes. And at another, he pulled a sword from a pedestal, and felt his own being split in four.
Even further, he felt echoes--not quite memories, but visions of a life that might’ve been, perhaps. A sensation of fur and fangs rushed over him as he found himself in a distorted, shadowy realm. The sharp taste of brine filled his mouth as he leaned on the side of a great sailing ship, seagulls flying about him. And two glowing red eyes, hidden behind a spiked heart-shaped mask, sent shivers down his spine.
It all felt so real, so familiar, but Link hadn’t a clue what it all meant. So, he brushed it all aside, left it sealed in the back of his mind where he needn’t worry about it. He had more important things to do than make sense of the odd delusions of his still amnesia-stricken mind.
It wasn’t long, however, before he did receive his answer.
As the red sky dissipated back into bright azure blue, and the swirling darkness that had been Ganon disappeared in barely a blink of an eye, Link turned to face the princess he had sought after since his awakening and fought for since long before then.
But as he heard those words, a rush ran through the young Hylian like never before.
In an instant, the beautiful blonde young woman before him was replaced by another--this one with longer locks and a straight row of bangs framing her face. Hardly a second later, she was replaced again--this time by a golden-blonde bearing a simple crown and dressed in more pink than Link had ever seen Zelda near in his entire time serving her as her knight.
Again and again, the princess was replaced by another and another, and the memories--both his and others--rushed through him like a river down a mountainside. And then, all of a sudden, it was over, and it was just him. Him and Zelda, standing in the middle of the plains.
“Link?” Zelda asked, the anxiousness in her voice crystal clear. “Did you hear me?”
“I heard you, princess.”
His voice was rough and cracked. He’d never been much for speaking, preferring to let his actions, both on the battlefield and in everyday life, speak for him. Yet at that moment, the young and soft-spoken hero lifted his gaze to the princess before him. Understanding sparked behind his eyes, and slowly the young knight fell to his knee before his princess.
“I remember you, Zelda.”
And for the first time in forever, he truly did.

my I wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire non-fave: Rhoam
my I didn’t care about them either way at first but the fandom makes such a big deal about them now I can’t stand them non-fave: all right. this is where I admit I didn’t like Mipha at all, for completely personal reasons partly relying on the French localization and my original assumptions and misunderstanding of certain lines (and also the fact that hers is the only really annoying voice of the French acting), and I was ready to leave it at that but it made seeing all the ship posts REALLY disturbing. HOWEVER I’ve since watched the JPN version of her flashback and OK ALL RIGHT SHE REALLY IS AN ANGEL AND I LOVE HER TOO NOW
my I could take them or leave them kinda non-fave: uhh. Pahya? Is that her English name? Impa’s granddaughter? She cute but eh
