Replaying season 2 episode 2 now, just got to the ski lodge, and I was reminded of one of my least favorite elements of Kenny's return. Namely, the way he seems to have backslid on his character development regarding Ben.
Kenny sacrificing himself for Ben in season 1 is essentially the culmination of his character arc throughout the season. He starts the game as someone who cares about his family before everyone else and struggles to have empathy for people outside of his close circle. When Kenny goes to mercy kill Ben in that alley, not only is it him forgiving Ben for getting his family killed, it's him learning to care about someone outside that close circle. It's him sacrificing his life for someone outside of his family, and maybe even expanding his definition of family to finally include the rest of the group.
And then in season 2, he's right back to calling Ben a shitbird.
I don't know, maybe it's realistic for someone to backslide on their development like that, since in real life changes like that are rarely a linear process. But it's just not very satisfying to have that hugely important piece of character development thrown away, like it never happened.

My Unpopular Opinion of the Day is that, despite how interactive and wonderful tears of the kingdom is, breath of the wild, to me, reigns superior.
I have a few major reasons for this that I can eventually dig into but botw had 2 major aspects that, to me, made it such a top tier game: incredible graphics/open world and a heartbreaking, beautiful story. The characters were full and brimming with personalities and opinions and aspirations. The general plot arc m not only made sense technically speaking, but was woven and demonstrated so effortlessly that it made the game timeless.
Tears of the kingdom took the open world abilities and amplified them substantially, adding sky islands, the depths, caves, etc. There are more monsters to fight, more things to do, side quests to complete…and there are endless ways to complete them with ultra hand and company. In that regard, Nintendo took something that was great and made it legendary.
My one major gripe with the story is it just..lacks something. I don’t know I need to really think about it. While there are moments that are moving, the characters feel hollow. I don’t really know them, if you know what I mean. Besides the obvious motivations (Rauru wants to defeat the demon king. He needs help), it just seems a little flat. ESPECIALLY the sages. We don’t even see their faces! We get the same dialogue from each one! I do enjoy seeing the old companions though (Sidon, Riju, etc) and don’t get me started on my love for Tulin.
There are also some plot points that don’t make sense to me. The fact that they chose to completely erase the divine beasts, almost all sheikah technology, guardians, the champions themselves…like why??? Maybe it was to make the game more accessible to people who haven’t played breath of the wild, but it just feels weird. It’s all gone! BUT they do reference the divine beasts via the helms? Idk
Tears of the kingdom is a phenomenal piece of media, don’t get me wrong. But it lacks. Breath of the wild, however, gave us wonderful game play AND a wonderful story that brings me to tears no matter how many times I play it

your blog and the anons/blogs that interact with you make me so happy, maybe im just not good at finding others like me but my experience with the ghost fandom has always been 1 million cishet women imagining the papas as the most genericly cishet hot men ever. the furthest they'll go is trans guy copia but even then he's always very cis passing. your blog is BURSTING with unapologetic gnc transgenderism that dares to not conform to cishet standards and it makes me. SO. HAPPY. :DDDDDDDDDD
I am SO, SO genuinely glad. I’ve had a lot of that same problem but there is Good Content out there if you try hard, and I’m really happy to be providing some of that for you!!! This is always a place of unabashed Ghost (and general) transgenderism and gendernonconformity. There are really not a lot of not-cis Nihils out there.

i’m sorry but the idea of the barn sex scene being between amy and robert is very funny to me! he just meets her during the rebellion and they just go for it? like a one night stand?like a bar hook up?in an american soldier/english housewife during ww type of way? they most definitely don’t have time to establish their relationship as a love match in the context of the show

I just spent a whole hour slowing down a trailer for an escape room I’m doing tonight because there was Morse Code in it and my brain thought “oh? An Easter egg? A clue? 👀” but there was nothing coherent in it and I feel personally cheated
