have ya watched stone ocean?
I read stone ocean. I also watched I think about the first half or so on Netflix (which is ironic since I have yet to watch any of part 5 past the first episode)
I’m in the middle of watching through jojo with my boyfriend, so I’ll be watching both 5 and 6 in the very near future, especially since we just finished part 4!

I had a Peak Xenoblade X Experience today
Basic mission to kill a tyrant that only appears during specific weather has been in the quest log Forever
Decide to finally commit to completing it
Fly in circles on the border of Cauldros and Cauldros Waters to force Brimstone weather
Lo and behold! A level 81 tyrant has now spawned in the mission location :)
Tyrant is huge and powerful
Frantically try to descent from the head of the creature to the ground cause oh no my skell is gonna break
Skell breaks .5 seconds before being able to exit it :(
Get a perfect on the skell insurance qte :)
Somehow have enough tp to go into infinite overdrive and finish off the tyrant!
It wasn't the tyrant from the mission :o
Go back to the barracks to replace skells and once again fly in circles to force brimstone weather
Fly in Bigger Circles around the volcano looking for ANOTHER tyrant while avoiding the level 81 guy from last attempt
Hopelessly decide the only place left to search is up high in the sky
Ascend
HUGE shadow of a level 94 Eldritch Horror appears in the smoke of the volcano
Try to fight it anyway
Get obliterated
Once again hit perfect on skell insurance qte :)
Die on foot when overdrive strats dont work out
Return to barracks to repair the skell
Report to the mission board to abort the mission

Whos skid? (And claire)
an old oc! I actually first came up with Skid in middle school, though they are Wildly different from that first iteration lol. The general idea is that Skid is a 2000 year old human made demon ie they come from earth. Which makes them a loophole case where humans aren't legally allowed to boot them from the planet.
They were sort of magically enslaved by this evil witch for a couple centuries up until meeting Claire. Claire had this deadly illness that was slowly eating away at her and so the two made this deal where Skid basically gets to live and care for Claire's body for as long as it takes to find a cure for her illness, keeping Claire in a sort of stasis all the while, so she isn't actively aging or growing nor is her illness getting worse. What did skid get out of this deal? A way out of their contract with the evil murder witch. It's a win win.
Also a big part of the story is this back and forth that angels and demons have over who has the right to colonize earth, basically lol. And Angels currently have the upper hand as they ran a smear campaign against demons ages ago and used capitalism to start putting down roots, such as this Really Important organization that's employed by (though not ran by) the government in order to deal with supernatural and magical issues.
Skid likes playing detective though and as a part of their "community service" they wind up as a lackey for said Angel organization. Along the way they happen to adopt a lot of down on their luck magic orphans(sometimes literally other times its more emotionally).
And also there's some fun little twists and turns with Skid's past coming back to haunt them. And one day I'll turn this into a comic or something, hopefully,, one day,,,,
have some fun lil skid drawings ft Eliza(skid's adopted daughter) as a baby and also some plot relevant Angel characters

I think the single-most important thing I've improved on, as a writer, is being able to pick back up where I left off. That used to be really difficult for me. Like, I'd write from a certain headspace, and then whether I had notes or not, my intentions didn't really matter once I'd moved on, mentally. I really struggled to get back, or I worried that the results were disjointed when I did.
But I find it much more achievable now to come back to an old project and work with it--sometimes because I see where I was going with it, sometimes because the bones are good and I can do something else.
I dunno, what about you guys? What's been helpful for you as a writer, in terms of personal growth?
