Pulling his cloak around him, the Emperor of Japan shivers in the cold. He supposes he should have accounted for this, he’s long known he’d be visiting Russia’s imperial family in the winter and that Moscow would be bitterly cold, but he hadn’t braced himself for the weather and now he’s suffering for it. It’s alright, though-- soon enough, they’ll be at the Imperial Palace where he’s meeting the second son of the Empress of Russia. Soon enough, he’ll be warm again. Sighing, he stares at the snow-blanketed streets as the carriage he’s in pulls into the driveway for the large palace, taking its sweet time getting closer to the doors. 

Finally, it arrives, and he has to resist hopping out. He’s excited. He’s incredibly excited to be here, and the smile he sees on the Empress’s face says she knows. At last his door is opened and he’s able to step out, long robes of Japan’s traditional clothing flowing behind him as he walks up the steps. The Empress smiles and nods, holding her hand out and Yuuri shakes it before glancing at her children. Dutifully, they all bow to him and with the younger of the twins he shares a knowing glance. They won’t have time until later, but he’s counting the very seconds until the end of dinner.

Relieved of his cloak in the foyer, he shakes his shoulders, happy to have the weight off them, and once the servants have taken the cloaks of the Imperial Family as well, he walks at the Empress’ side down the hall.

“I appreciate your hospitality, Empress Alexandra,” he says.

She laughs softly. “Your Imperial Majesty is most welcome in our halls, your bond with my son notwithstanding.”

Cheeks slightly pink, Yuuri nods. The bond of which she speaks is an engagement, officially for political benefit to both families but unofficially, he’d been courting the tsarevich for months. Back then, before the assassination, both he and the tsarevich had been princes-- first and second in line for the throne in their respective countries-- and had, through correspondence, grown to love each other dearly. 

When a Russian assassin had elevated Yuuri from Crown Prince to Emperor, they’d scrambled to keep relations with Russia’s Imperial Family from dissolving into a war, and a marriage had been proposed. Prince Alexei was out of the question as Russia’s next Tsar, but his younger twin brother, Viktor was more than happy to step forward as a candidate for Akitsushima’s King Consort. Papers had been drawn up for this visit, and here is where they’ll confirm their engagement. Prince Viktor will return to Japan with Yuuri, the wedding will be in a year, and they’ll have the happily-ever-after they’d never dreamed could happen.

As the family’s guest, Yuuri sits at the head of the table, in between the Empress and the Crown Prince. The Empress’ wife sits next to her, and Viktor sits next to his brother, but both are too far for Yuuri to make conversation. Speeches are made, toasts are proposed, and the five-course meal goes slower than Yuuri’d anticipated, but once they’re done he’s free to retreat to his rooms.

He does so as soon as he politely can.

As he walks through the halls, escorted by a footman, he looks around. Though no more lavish than his palace at home, the palace here is decorated with gold and plaster relief and Yuuri finds it hard to take in as he moves. Approaching the hall to his wing, though, he hears quick footsteps behind him.

“I can handle this,” Prince Viktor says as he comes up next to Yuuri. “Vashe Imperatorskoye Velichestvo,” he says, bowing briefly as propriety dictates.

“Your Imperial Highness,” Yuuri says in return, nodding. The footman bows to both of them, before walking off.

They can’t embrace in the halls, it’s too familiar and Yuuri’s a visiting monarch being guided by a second prince, but the walk together is spent in comfortable silence. Approaching the doors to the rooms Yuuri will be using, they’re met by two footmen who bow and open the doors, holding them until Yuuri and Viktor are well through.

Once they’re in private, Yuuri feels himself pushed back against a bookcase as Viktor presses their lips together almost desperately. Hands slip under coats, fingers run through hair, and they relish the contact they have with each other as they kiss. Breathless and wanting, they don’t separate, not even when Yuuri pushes the prince briefly away in order to push him back against the shelves, running his fingers through his long locks.

“Tsarevich Viktor,” he says after a few moments.

“Yes, Your Imperial Majesty?”

For some reason, Yuuri forgets what he was going to say and merely smiles, kissing Viktor again. “You’ll be returning with me,” he says softly.

“I will,” Viktor replies. “My things are packed. I’ve said some goodbyes.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Huh?” Viktor looks down at him, meeting his eyes. “Yuuri, what are you sorry for?”

With one shoulder, Yuuri shrugs, and Viktor sighs. “I’m happy. I am. I love you, and... and we’ve wanted this for so long. Years we’ve been wanting to get married and now we are.”

“Somehow I didn’t realize I’d be taking you from everything you love.”

“Not everything,” Viktor says, leaning down to kiss him. “You’re not taking me from you. You’re giving yourself to me, I’ll have you for the rest of my life. It’s more than enough trade-off for staying here. I’ve always known that being with you would mean leaving Russia.”

“Always?”

Nodding, Viktor presses another kiss to Yuuri’s cheek. “Yes, of course. I’m the second son of the Empress, and my brother’s already expecting his first child. You were always first in line. You were always going to have to stay in Japan.”

“Glad to see one of us thought this through.” Sighing, Yuuri tugs at the fasteners on his haori, pulling it off and draping it over a nearby chair. His boots come next, set neatly next to the door and as he slips his socked feet into slippers he sighs.

“‘Thought this through’? Are... Your Imperial Majesty, are you having regrets?” Somehow Viktor looks more nervous than Yuuri would have expected and between that and the use of Yuuri’s title it’s clear he’s not just teasing. Almost childlike, Viktor seems to await his answer with trepidation and Yuuri jumps to ease his nerves.

“No, no! I’m... I just didn’t realize the implications, Vitya,” he says. “I... I didn’t mean to take you from your home.”

“Home is with you,” Viktor replies without hesitation. “I love my family, don’t get me wrong, but my status in Russia is falling and being called ‘the Spare’ by my people gets grating, on occasion.”

Yuuri knows it’s far more than ‘on occasion’, and every bit of correspondence Viktor has sent has only indicated his excitement at the upcoming move. It’s with this that Yuuri tries to console himself, to remind himself that Viktor had jumped at the chance rather than reluctantly agreement to the proposed marriage, and when Viktor cups his cheek in his palm, Yuuri nods.

“I love you,” he says, and it still sounds like a confession even though he’s said the words often enough that it isn’t.

“I love you, too,” Viktor replies. “I’ve liked you since we first met and I’ve loved you since you fell into that snowdrift.

Yuuri snorts. He’d still been Crown Prince at that point, and he’d been taking the time to explore the extensive gardens of the Imperial Palace. It wasn’t quite his fault that the far reaches of the gardens were more uneven and less cared-for than the areas closer to the palace, but it had been his fault that he’d been walking along the top of a low wall.

The Tsarevich had seen his unfortunate plunge into an adjacent snowdrift, and had fished him out while trying to stifle laughter. Once it was clear Yuuri was merely embarrassed rather than offended, they’d shared a laugh, and Viktor had put his coat over Yuuri’s now-soaked shoulders. It had been the start of Yuuri’s crush. Every time he’d seen the Imperial Family’s second prince, he’d fallen just a bit further. He’s not sure if it’s the way Viktor carries himself-- strong, authoritative, and somehow still friendly. He’s not sure if it’s the ease with which Viktor approaches court interactions or the way his smile seems to light up the room.

He’s not sure if it’s the Prince’s kind heart, love for his people, and determination to do right in what areas he can, though Yuuri suspects this is a large part of things.

Regardless, they’re in love-- very much so-- and Yuuri doesn’t regret their first kiss, shared in an alcove at the palace in Hasetsu on the occasion of Mari’s birthday. She hadn’t suspected anything at the time, but the palace staff had remarked on the large amount of correspondence from Yuuri to Russia’s Second Son in the weeks following. 

Crawling into bed together should feel more scandalous than it does, but the only reason Yuuri’s here in the first place is to formally confirm their engagement, which is well-known at this point. Soft, Viktor’s fingers brush across Yuuri’s cheek, through his hair, down his face until Viktor’s thumb brushes his lip.

“We’re getting married,” Yuuri whispers.

“For the good of Russia and Japan,” Viktor replies.

“For love,” Yuuri corrects. “I don’t know that I’d... if it was anyone else, I...”

Eyes shining, Viktor leans forward and presses a kiss to his lips. “I wouldn’t want it either,” he murmurs.

- Lillie&USUM protags and Mimikkyu&Pikachu come from either still Celestial shrine or the stand right next to it, I couldn’t tell and didn’t see a name.

- Lychee says yes, R671 : on top of being like, “do you like SorMik? We have ALL THE SORMIK”, they had that cute SuMo card (Hau!) and a Moon charm. I know Aza already saw the DGM card, but posting the photo anyway because did y’all see the adorable SakuTomo mirror? did you? >w

- Sweet creatures, N612 : it’s just cute pokémon watercolors, but they look pretty nice. (On that note, Dessine-moi un pokémon is at N686, but we’ve been there iirc.)

- Kase-san print from Cerulean Nebula, S678 (along with lots of Little Witch Academia stuff, but you don’t need to see exactly how little impulse control I had there.*cough*)

- M697, couldn’t see the name : a zine of gags about the fangirl life. Haven’t read it yet, can’t say if it’s good, but just in case.

- The cats come from one of the first stands I saw and I hadn’t started taking notes yet, so I can only say it was in hall 5, near the exit. :s They had a series of these “character as a cat with a punny name” cards, like Sailor Coon, One Persian, or Kanekineko, but please appreciate the glory that is Cat Captor Chakura :D (The Clear Card Arc Sakura is from there too.)

- Kraft fairies fingers, P701, have a lot of, well, craft, including more reversible manga covers like this one (don’t laugh, it’s nice to have for old volumes, I use it for my Furuba that have been passed to too many people in high school and came back looking like they’d seen war), and really cute little plushies. (Sadly they had already sold their Toothless this year.)

- Things I didn’t expect to see in JE: Jack&Lacie (PH stuff is already kinda rare), and Seccotine claiming a whole sofa like an asshole cat (BD? here??) They’re from Farfadettes, Q699, who also had a Sirius/Remus card and a Zelda fanbook. (pics end here)

- I somehow didn’t write down where I found Tibarn putting the rad in PoR ;o; but it seems to be by KeysaMoguri, P699? (might be only the artist’s name, because I can’t find it on JE’s website.) It was the only Tellius item there, sadly; she said she made it on request of a follower. (Not the first time I hear this for Tellius stuff, and I’ve been making requests to other JE artists before too. For all that feh gave more exposure to the Japan-only games, it doesn’t seem to have done much for the best FE. u.u) (Abyssal, P677, had a card of Reyson… being shippy with Tanith? not my ship, but still nice to see.)

- There was someone with really, really cool drawings of fantasy creatures (including pokémons, I didn’t come back in time to grab their Onvern but I saw Ho-oh and Lugia iirc) on gold paper at Les Passe-mondes, M666. Atem included as a reference for their style since it’s the only thing I bought there:

To say that Viktor was mesmerised was an understatement. Thelights, the music, the atmosphere, the flags – it was more than he had beenhoping for, more than he had ever been expecting.  

He’d waited months to be able to pay for his flight to Portugaland witness the grandeur that was the Eurovision Song Contest. He hadn’t been toohopeful – he reminded himself that there would be drunks, rude people andgroups that the cameras never caught. Every type of concert had people thatwere trying to ruin the experience.

But instead, he had gotten something more. He’d travelledalone, but other groups in the audience had adopted him as one of their own,welcomed him in despite their different nationalities. The whole experience hadbeen nothing but magical, completely destroying his expectations and makingthem a hundred times better.

He’d made friends with a Swiss man by the name of Chris whohad managed to push them to the very front of the audience, pressed to themetal barrier. Flags waved around him, a mix of different nationalities andlgbtq+ flags flying enthusiastically above the crowd.

As the next performance was getting ready in the dimly litstage, the crowds behind him began to cheer, strobe lights flickering ready forthe main show. The competition was slowly beginning to wind down as it came tothe last few countries. Then came the voting, a sore spot for many of thelovers of Eurovision.

The stage lit up. Strobe lights waved across the stage, lightinga music board in the middle of the platform, a man standing behind. He wasdressed in a pink and black kimono with a glittery black corset across hisstomach. Behind him, two bookcases stood, covered in golden lucky cats wavingto the crowd.

Viktor liked to keep the songs a surprise for the finals,and so he didn’t watch the competitions on the weeks leading up. He liked tosee them once, to watch them for the first time live. It was why it was sosurprising to him when the man on stage began clucking like a chicken as anelectric bass built in the background.

He thought he wouldn’t like it, but something about itstruck him curious. But it wasn’t just that. As the lights finally illuminatedthe stage completely, he saw how beautiful the man was. He filled the kimono brilliantly,the corset bringing froth dangerous thoughts to Viktor’s mind. He looked soft,with fluffy black hair, tanned skin, eyes wide and filled with expression as hesang.

“Look at me, I’m a beautiful creature,” the singer sang, hisdeep voice echoing through the microphone.

Yes, yes you are, Viktor thought, completely taken in by theman. He needed to know his name. He leaned forwards on the barrier, listeningclosely to every single note, every single letter that was coming out of theman’s mouth, even the clucks. His gaze flickered between his lips and his eyes,willing for their gazes to connect.

“My Simon says ‘leave me alone’. I’m taking my pikachu home.You’re stupid just like your smart phone.”

Viktor chuckled at the lyrics, resting his cheek in hishand. The crowds were cheering harder behind him, pressing in on his back buthe didn’t care. His whole attention had been stolen by the man on stage.

“Wonder woman, don’t you ever forget. You’re divine and he’sabout to regret.”

You are divine,Viktor agreed. He decided the word was exactly what described the man on stage.Divine. Something otherworldly, something legendary, mythological, godly even.Viktor had never contemplated sneaking backstage at concerts before, but now hewas entertaining the thought.

“I’m not your toy, you stupid boy. I’ll take you down andmake you watch me.”

Viktor grinned, dangerous thoughts rising once more. Hewouldn’t mind being pushed down by this man. He wondered if he’d keep the corseton. As the sparks were set alight on stage, the crowd cheered. He heard someoneloudly exclaiming about the dangers and their funny expressions, but he didn’t takehis eyes away from the singer. He was only standing there behind his musicboard, and yet it was enough to completely capture Viktor.

Just as he thought that though, the man stepped away fromthe board and took the microphone in hand, standing at the front of the stage.He was closer now, just standing above Viktor, dancing slightly with his hipsas the music blared.

“Wedding bells ringing. Money, men, bling bling.”

Anything, Viktor thought. He’d do it all if he could marrythis man. He was momentarily struck by the absurdity of his thoughts, but asthe chorus came once again, he found himself singing at the top of his lungsback at the singer. A man beside him wore a chicken hat, the floppy cottonanimal hitting Viktor’s shoulder every time he jumped. He concentrated ontrying to sing as loud as he could so he could capture the singer’s attentionand ignore everything else around him.

As the singer sang his strongest note, his voice clear throughthe whole arena, Viktor felt his heart hammer against his chest. He couldalready feel the piercing of love’s arrow.

“Look at me, I’m a beautiful creature. I don’t care aboutyour modern time preacher. I’m not your toy, not your toy, toy. Not your toy,not your toy, toy.”

The final word was sung with all the power of a storm, thevoice behind it striking Viktor with absolute awe. It was as the singer finishedand took a deep breath after his finished song that their eyes connected.Viktor felt as if his soul had been seen, that everything he had ever done hadled to this, to meeting the beautiful man and to see him.

He didn’t miss the singer’s own widened eyes and heavybreathing, lost in Viktor’s eyes. Viktor winked at him, feeling his breath stopas the singer’s cheeks bloomed a stunning pink. He wanted to cover those cheeksin kisses.

Just above the cheering, the announcer named the performer.Yuuri, singing his song Toy. Yuuri. Yes, Viktor liked that name. He liked it alot.

As Yuuri was being taken off by his dancers, he threw Viktora smile and a wink. It almost stopped Viktor’s heart.

“Is this for someone special, Mr Nikiforov?” the sales assistant at the counter of this jewelry store asks sweetly. Viktor tucks himself a little harder into his scarf, sighs, and nods. 

Years ago, he’d spent some time in Japan as part of a period drama about the Meiji Era, as a young English consulate officer who had a tumultuous romance with an older Japanese noblewoman. His costar, Minako Okukawa, always carried with her a tiny charm with pointe shoes on them, and when he asked her about them, she had told him about omamori.

Golden and precious, like the Emmy statuette. Golden for success. Round, for eternity, for connection, for en.

Stay close to me, Yuuri. His finger points to the golden rings with the snowflake motif. The sales assistant’s eyes widen. 

Viktor should’ve realised sooner. 

Omamori: more than a lucky charm. More than a prayer. 

Viktor watches how it dances on Yuuri’s finger, how it catches the light. Yuuri’s eyes are downcast, wavering; his mouth works futilely for several minutes as he tries to find the words.

Viktor, too, is looking for the words. I’m nothing without you. But that’s too much, too cliche. Yuuri would’ve expected it from the fake version of him they’d designed for this farce of a relationship. Then again, there’s a problem when both the fake him and the real him want to say the same things.

“I…” Yuuri swallows. “I hope we do well, too,” he agrees. “I’d love to see another season of History Makers.”

“Or a movie,” says Viktor, grinning. Yuuri nods. The ring is still so bright and golden. “Or an Emmy.”

“Or an Emmy,” agrees Yuuri, the faintest of smiles tugging at his lips. He takes off his glasses for a moment, wiping at his eyes. Viktor’s heart lurches at it and at the flush in his cheeks.

“Champagne for the happy couple!” someone shouts, cutting through Viktor’s thoughts. Alarmed, he tears his gaze away from Yuuri’s overwhelmed expression just in time to catch a man flashing them a thumbs up from a nearby booth. “Come on, waiter, we’ve gotta celebrate!”

It hits Twitter within the hour. The celeb news sites within two. The ring flashes in glimpses of Yuuri’s right hand; everyone’s suddenly an expert in Russian wedding customs. 

Viktor’s stomach sinks long after the dinner is over – he’d barely tasted any of the food. In the car next to him, Yuuri stares numbly at the golden band on his finger. 

“Thank you, Viktor,” he says quietly, when the car pulls up to his apartment. Viktor’s at a loss, again – he wants to set the record straight, but deep down, part of him is dancing at the fact that everyone has misinterpreted his gesture as a proposal.

Because maybe deeper down, past that, he really had wanted it to be so. A lovely dinner, a momentous speech, sinking to one knee – everything. And in this fantasy, Yuuri’s smile would be bright and lively, eyes sparkling with certainty and conviction. Yes, he’d say. I’d stay close to you forever. 

“I – I mean it,” Viktor says. “You mean a lot to me, and I – I want you to succeed. I want this to succeed. The show, that is. And us, too, but –”

Yuuri presses a finger to his lips. “Please,” he says. “I get it. Everyone’s been accusing us of faking it; you had to provide a show of commitment.”

“It’s not like that anymore,” Viktor says, and Yuuri freezes at that, eyes wide, and terrified at the implications. Slowly, he moves away from Viktor, one hand reaching towards the door handle. 

“Not… like that?” asks Yuuri quietly. 

“I’m sorry,” says Viktor. “I wish I knew how to love you the way you deserve.”

Yuuri nods at that, his eyes downcast. Slowly, he opens the door to the car. 

“I’ll try my best,” he says. “The show must go on, right?”

His lips are already a memory against Viktor’s even as they kiss, once, softly, before Yuuri clambers out of the car and walks to the door. Viktor watches him through the rear view window until all the cars and streetlamps obscure him from sight.

Hiya, everyone! I am finally back to posting on my blog more after the busy week and I am finally catching up on my tags! Woohoo! 

Thank you to the lovely @yuuricutesuki for tagging me! 

1. If you were given a one-minute ad-slot during the Super Bowl that you couldn’t sell, what would you fill it with?

Uhm...I’ve never actually thought about this before and it’s a good question. Hmm...probably a slideshow demonstrating the beautiful existence of our Lord and savior Viktor Nikiforov. I’d have Joey (@yuuris-piano)  do the music for it too. You know. Just a giant one-minute ad of Viktor Nikiforov’s face. 

2. what problem did you think was going to be common in ‘grown-up’ life as a kid? was it actually a problem or just a misconception?

For me, it was making friends as a grown-up. Like honestly, how does that happen? Like, I was the kid who hardly ever made friends until I was in high school and even then it was a struggle. I’m a sophomore in college and still haven’t made friends. Like I get that you do the same thing, but like I don’t like enough people in my lectures to actually talk to them. And I feel weird going out by myself so I just awkwardly sit and do homework and do dumb stuff by myself on friday night. So, I can say that it is still a problem?? I dunno. 

3. which fictional character would you want to be your sidekick?

Well...it depends on the mission. In real life, I feel like Yuuri would make an awesome person to have as a sidekick because he would get me really well and would just be chill with it. If I’m looking to get into trouble, I’d probably bring Lance McClain with me. If I was going anywhere where Fergalicious was playing, Chris is gonna be my sidekick. If I’m gonna go meet someone for the first time, I’m bringing Will Solace with me. 

Can like...all of my fictional favorites be my sidekicks because I need them all.

4. In your opinion, what will finally break the internet?

5. When was the last time you wished you could throw down a smoke bomb and disappear?

Everyday of my life...

Last time I saw my ex in public. I went to go get hair dye to do my hair and she apparently had started working there and we had that whole awkward “i’m gonna pretend I have no idea who the frick you are” thing going on on my side and the awkward flirting on her part. It was just one those moments when your like “oh please let the aliens beam me up now to save me from this monstrosity.”

6. what’s something you did ironically so many times that it just became a part of your personality?

Hmm...I dunno if this counts, but I sigh a lot. Sometimes I sigh without even realizing I’m sighing and now I’m just the one who automatically is sighing over everything. 

7. do you believe in ghosts? if yes, do you have a personal/favourite ghost story?

Hell yeah! I’m a big believer in the paranormal and I’m actually kind of sensitive to it, to say the least. 

So, I actually have a few personal experiences, but my most recent experience was a few months ago. I was out driving at night trying to get my 2-year-old brother to sleep since my mom wasn’t feeling well and since I live in a smaller town, the streets were mostly empty. I had driven downtown and was on my way driving back when I saw something dart off into the road. So I slowed down and was really paying attention since we didn’t have street lights on the road. It was a weird occurence since I was driving between two housing developments that were surrounded by high walls on either side of me so it’s not like there would be an animal that ran out into the middle of the street and it was after midnight and my town shuts down at 10. 

And then I saw someone standing in the middle of the road in all black. They had their arms spread and were waiting for me to hit them. I swerved as much as I could on the road as I slammed on the breaks, trying to avoid hitting the person and I felt the car hit something. I’ve been in a car accident before and I know what impact feels like and I swear that I hit something. 

I got the car to stop and I pulled over, because I was freaking the fuck out. My brother was asleep in the car and we were both okay, but I really thought I hit someone. Since I was by myself, I didn’t get out of the car, but I did call a friend’s dad (since my dad has epilispey and can’t drive) and he, his wife and my friend, and his brother drove the 30 seconds to where I was from their house.

There was nobody there. I didn’t hit anything. There was no damage to the car. There was no way anyone could have ran from the scene since the road was surrounded by walls that couldn’t have been climbed easily. 

None of us, have any idea of what happened.

8. when/if you talk to yourself (out loud or otherwise), do you use ‘we’, ‘I’, or ‘you’ to address yourself?

Usually it’s a combination of all three. It depends on the context. I tend to lean more towards ‘you’ or ‘I’ but I often use ‘we’ too. For isntance, when I’m psyching myself up, I tend to use ‘you’ or ‘we’ but I generally use ‘I’ when I am trying to get myself to focus. 

9. what’s your ultimate desert island book?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ uhhhhhhhh....Island of the Blue Dolphins? I dunno. 

10. what’s something you do that’ll almost always lift your mood?

Putting on You Only Live Once and dancing. Nothing lifts your mood like the most motivational song ever. Forget Eye of th Tiger or It’s My Turn Now! You Only Live Once is so freaking positive and it makes me feel like I can get through anything. Believe it or not, when I’m in a really bad depression slump, it’s a song that helps get me moving even if it doesn’t stop the episode. 

Also, watching Adam Rippon skate because lets be honest he is goals for all of us.

I’m so not good at complimenting myself, but I’ll try. 

Uhm...Sam, you have a not shitty taste in music. It’s not that bad. You have a few questionable tastes, but mostly it’s pretty awesome.

Viktuuri Excerpt (First Draft)

Not sure of how I feel about this so far, from a oneshot I’m working on called, Say “Yes” to the Dress”

Yuuri circled the ice, smiling to himself at the steady, familiar grind of his blade against the frozen water, while out of the corner of his eye he saw Yakov barking at Yurio, the older man's face red while Yurio ignored him completely, too busy with his phone to pay any attention to his coach.

Yuuri turned his attention back to the rink. He was supposed to be practising for the Worlds, but without Viktor nearby, he was having trouble staying focused.

One gold medal, and my head's already gone elsewhere... Yuuri thought, smiling idly as he tried for a quad, but face-planted with a soft grunt. He got up at once, marvelling that he did not hear Yurio's echoing laugh from across the ice, and tried again.

In his second year with Viktor as his coach, Yuuri had been witness to something miraculous, paired with something frustrating. He'd done as Viktor had promised, and he got gold at the Grand Prix Final, with Viktor coming not second, but third after Yurio.

Yuuri had been in shock, but Viktor did not appear at all displeased by his bronze medal, and in fact had begged Yuuri to kiss it in full view of the cameras.

The frustrating half of Yuuri's year was the fact that Viktor had seemed serious about waiting until Yuuri won gold before they married, and gleefully pitched any wedding magazines Yuri brought home in the trash, or randomly changed the subject if Yuuri brought up how to combine a Russian Orthodox wedding with a Buddhist one.

Which YoI character do you relate to the most?

A combination of phichit and viktor! Phichit because I can’t leave my phone and I love hanging out with my (good) friends and I’m always happy to see my friends interact with each other (romantically sometimes) ;7;;; like yes i wish from the very bottom of my heart that you both find happiness if it ends up that way <333 and viktor because;;; yeh i’m not too sure but in one of the au’s that I’m making (which is based on a personal story), I relate to viktor the most? I guess I suppress any feelings of nervousness and self-doubt before performances or presentations, so I appear to be confident in those activites ;7;

What was your favorite episode and why? aahhh either episode 7 or episode 10!! If I were my own separate character?? hmm;; yuri on ice is one of those animes where I don’t imagine myself in? Like for others it’s easier, but I feel like the anime is too wholesome and beautiful that if there was a “me” character, they’d ruin it > v < So if I could be a yoi character, I’d just be an observer in the crowd, cheering viktuuri on!!

Do you have any ideas on what the movie plot might be?

Yuri on ice always has a way to surprise us! We know that it will be in viktor’s pov and that there mIGHT be a wedding, but I’m actually not sure what the plot will be ;O; maybe a dive into viktor’s past while also displaying viktor’s current life with yuuri? But who knows! We’ll just have to wait and see ( ‘ v ‘ )

What are your thoughts on ships (and if literally, what are your thoughts on water vessels?)

I’m assuming you mean ships in fandoms?? ;7;;; Ahh I don’t really ship characters easily... In movies, I “ship” the characters that are canonly supposed to be together (like in SAO, I furiously refused to ship kirito with any other person other than asuna ahaha). I guess it’s because I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I want everything to go accordingly?? And unless the creators of a show really wanted a pair to be together in that certain way (e.g. romantically), they would make note of it? And even if a ship is canon, I won’t necessarily ship it either; it depends on how much they’ve interacted, how they’ve impacted each others lives, how long they’ve been together, etc. Viktuuri is probably the only ship I truly felt like shipping. I didn’t ship them at first (I thought viktor was just flirty and this was all just fan service), but at some point, things changed? I noticed how viktor genuinely wants to help yuuri (because he loves him?) and it’s not necessarily a romantic relationship;;; yuuri told him he wants viktor to be just viktor. And I think the idea of accepting and seeing someone as just who they are and loving/appreciating them is wholesome? Like you shouldn’t label your lover only as “my lover”, because I’m sure they’re so much more ( ‘ 7 ‘ ) just like how yuuri is viktor’s life and love <3

What’s a fanfic trope that you enjoy?

I have like no idea what a trope is and google isn’t helping;;;; but I’m assuming it’s... a trend? a style? I’m not entirely sure what fanfics I enjoy reading;;; I just read them and if I like them, I like them. If they can keep me from doing anything productive, then yeh I must really like that fanfic.

Do you have a favorite memory from your main fandom?

There’s so many?? Like there’s anime memories, fandom discussion memories and art memories. I feel like the best memory has yet to occur, but I guess I enjoyed meeting up with shelli (we met through our yoi fanarts ahaha) (lots of food, shopping and doodles!!), reading my first yoi fanfic, drawing fanart and just being able to see that people enjoy it, talking about how fantastic yoi is to my friends, analyzing yoi, watching stammi vicino, listening to yoi soundtracks, watching official updates and the list goes onnnnn Who do you look up to for inspiration?

god... there’s a lot ;O; basically all the artists I follow on every social media/art account i have? also just what I see around me? also fans, and yuri on ice of course... inspiration just comes from everywhere nowadays after yoi happened

Biologically, it’s to reproduce. Psychologically (?), it’s to be happy. I guess everyone’s just trying to do their best in life? Some people might feel that they’re going nowhere in life, but I mean they’re just searching for happiness. Some people don’t want to live anymore;;; and I’m pretty sure it’s because they’re not happy ;O; some people will work extra hard to obtain a goal or gain money, why? to be happy! ;7; some people search for love in their lives, to be happy! And when you’re in your hospital bed (because you overworked), you’re spending all your money earned on medicine to keep you alive for a bit longer... to get that last bit of happiness ;v; So I mean, we don’t live to earn money or beat others... or find love... we do those to find what perhaps will make us feel happy :)
