Today on "Another JeanMarco Soulmate AU absolutely no one asked for" I present to you -

Soulmate AU in which you stop seeing colors when your soulmate dies, the only exception being your soulmate. Now cue to Jean who just found Marco's, his best friend's, body. And you know, there's the shock of finding out Marco's dead. The pain and confusion and guilt. But there's also the revelation, because despite everything he can still see Marco like nothing took place at all- yes, half of his face is missing and his body is straight up lifeless, but Jean can still make out the color of his eye ; see that light shade of brown perfectly, remember all the times he has found himself looking at them while listening to Marco talk. He can still make out the colors of his uniform, see the same shade of black his hair has always had, practically see. Despite being dead, Marco was the only piece of color left in his life.

And there's denial for a moment because there's no way Marco was his soulmate. But that goes away fast, getting replaced by guilt. By the fact that he hasn't been there to save him, that Marco has to die all alone without anyone being there for him.

And that was worse than the simple fact that he could no longer see colors ; because Marco was there when Jean needed him, but he failed to do the same. And not only he lost his best friend that day, but his other half too.

#Anyway this fucker doesn't tell anyone about the whole soulmate thing. Not of shame of anything but because he's mourning man and also is no #One's business. Anyway the first one to find out is Armin because he notices and ever since he makes sure to mention colors as often as he #can. Jean expected that question yet he wasn't truly ready to answer it. Deep down he knew he was never going to be ready for it #'Trost' his voice stains sightly while naming the city. His own city. It wasn't that far fetched for Jean's soulmate to be some civilian #lost during the evacuations or something. But then Connie's eyes widen ever so sightly the realization sitting in. as promised…the fab four mandalorians AU!! pitched to me by & made with a lot of consultation with @todreamsweetofme the basic concept is of the four as a clan (with a mousekat-loth cat signet!) and the girl as their foundling :} i am no expert on mandalorian culture BUT i gave it my best shot and i had a LOT of fun designing four unique sets of armor!

#danger days #ttlotfk #killjoys california #fun ghoul #party poison #kobra kid #jet star #mandalorian au #star wars au #star wars #i will reblog later with a bonus drawing of the girl but she is too young to have taken the creed at this point so i don’t think she really #has armor #so i didn’t draw her yet!#a lot of the design choices were me trying to combine their canon outfits and colors with mandalorian armor #their jackets lend well to mando flight suits!!#but i also tried to get some personality across with their designs!#jet i think takes very careful care of their armor which is why there are no chips in the paint or the steel #anytime he gets a bit of damage he like buffs out the dents and repaints it as soon as possible #party poison loves Drama so their armor reflects that but they can’t be bothered to fix every scrape they get #also there’s a lot of chipping on the knee guards because if they’re leaning on their knees to shoot or sliding through sand or whatever #it would chip there first #ghoul has a very Classic silhouette because he’s a practical guy and also he’s the most damaged because he’s a brawler #and kobra obviously gets a mando pilot-inspired design because he’s a racer!#Kobra and party are blood siblings so to reflect that they both have painted-on signets instead of embossed/metal signets like ghoul and Jet #also tried to think about their different combat styles! jet’s a long-range kinda guy i think he uses a very classic #amban sniper rifle #and kobra is more about hand-to-hand where party relies on a more short-range kind of firepower aka a blaster and whistling birds #(which kobra has as well)#i also think kobra has some kind of grappling hook in his braver to pull his enemies in to fight them up close #ghoul of course relies on explosives! hence the thermal detonators

QUICK FYI.? in my blosc:the adventure begins remake there would be a whole new storyline where everyone is convinced that buzz is zurg’s son because like 20+ years ago zurg created an offspring in a capsule but got bored very quickly and sent that child into space. and buzz was found in space debris and adopted, so it all makes total sense. but in the end of the movie zurg learns about this and laughs because that offspring 1. was tooootally evil 2. was a genetic mutant alien with horns 3. was a girl. ok? and in blosc:the movie:the remake:the sequel this daughter, roza, is a major villain who instead of conquiring the universe wants to destroy it completely and zurg has to show her that universe is actually a great place when it’s not in shambles and also that she doesnt have to be mad bc people could care about her (like her dad for example!!!) <3

Very stupid getter thing I’m thinking about as it’s such a minor detail but my brain is circling around how color is used in the series, more specifically for the robot.

Color palettes for your badass giant robot mean everything but the color choices in Getter are *very* important as it was the first-and few-robots to have multiple different forms in one, and are all compromised of jets to make the robot.

The designs needed to be consistent with this aspect, having the Getters color palette use all three individual colors of the jets. What’s noteworthy about the colors used is the robots almost follow using the primary colors of red, blue and yellow, but the blue is swapped out for white. This was likely due to a better color balance, as while the primary colors would work if the robots weren’t individually joined but still a group, keeping in mind the concept of how they form from jets the blue would likely clash too much with red and yellow, where as white makes it all smoothly come together.

Nearly every Getter set since tries to follow this tradition of using red, white and yellow in there palettes, but aside from a few obvious exceptions for Getters that were meant to stick out-like Neo/Go, as that robot doesn't run on getter rays so the palette was changed drastically to reflect its nature-the most obvious example of a traditional Getter breaking this tradition and going for blue over white is Getter Robo G.

While each and every Getter has its own factors to stand out and differentiate itself, the G line for simply having one small color change really sets it apart. Especially with its OG design above, it’s hard to not notice its version of Getter Two (Liger) had a color change that affects the whole palette. So people either love or hate G for this, even if later takes of its design like Armageddon, try to tweak the colors to be more visually appealing by keeping it strictly to the main color of the respective jet. (This also carrying over for Shin Getter in the show)

But why do I mention any of this? Well I was in fact thinking about this regarding Arma and Getter 2, but less on the actual designs itself and more so a rather small yet likely intentional detail: How Kei is associated with the color blue before it’s even shown that she pilots Shin Liger. From her own promo art with Shin 2 having her being colored in blue despite Go and Gais colors being their respective robot, to her pilot suits having blue shoulder pads to match with Liger, which we see before the robot even appears. (Yes I’m using a SRW art instead of a show shot, just deal with it lol)

This is such a small detail but the team likely had probably a rough idea of what to do with Shin Dragon, so seeing them giving small hints to the viewer-albeit one has to see a art of this prior to know lol-before it even happens is pretty cool. Just goes to show how much insane detail Getter has across its series.

I can't seem to stop starting new playthroughs
