We Best Love: Episode 2, "Why are we here, just to suffer?"

ON THE PREVIOUS FIRST EPISODE:

Well, damn, now I have no idea what'll happen next. I usually expect something like this to happen near the end of any romance, but they just went and did it.

Will they reach the second base in this episode, then? Who knows.

They already kissed, now we just wait for that sweet tension.

I swear, the more I watch this intro the more gay it looks. Like, I can feel the tension in the air.

Meanwhile, Shi De is a hopeless romantic, he can't be more obvious with that monologue. Like, it's impossible.

He keeps saying things like "look at me" as if that isn't the gayest thing to ever say in any fictional show when you refer to another guy.

Shi De, you're the one that kissed him underwater OUT OF NOWHERE. Are you really in the position of asking that?

He says that Shu Yi wasn't coming up. Boy, that's the lamest excuse I've heard. Please just follow Bruno Mars advice and say this instead.

Now he's asking about Yu Xin, like he's tired of Shu Yi pining after her for so long (the jealousy, guys... Alexa, play Heather). But Shu Yi is all "you stalkin' me?".

I know he asked that as a joke.

THAT WAS A RETHORICAL QUESTION, BUT SHI DE SAID GO BIG OR GO HOME!

I can only picture Linkin Park in the backhead of his mind playing very loudly. My son is in his sad arc.

He's being very dramatic and thinking "boy, I need to get over it".

Well, he actually says a lot more, trying to be deep and all that, but I was very distracted by his dramatic self.

Tho he's right that it's worse when the unrequited love is a friendship. Little does he know, for Gao Shi De the unrequited love is hitting hard.

Well, idk what'll happen next, but whatever it is, please don't let this pretty lady be a rebound, what you need is to dwell in your own feelings, even if it doesn't feel right at the moment, because it's better to learn how to live with those emotions and then manage them, that way you will be mature enought to fall in love in a better- who am I kidding, his ass is not listening

Fang Zheng Wen tries to talk to him, but then Yu Xin appears and invites them for lunch, but Shu Yi says he "doesn't wanna be a third wheel".

I feel you, man. You don't have to force yourself to be in that uncomfortable situation.

HERE COMES THE BOY TO THE RESCUE

It's a green flag if someone notices what you're trying to say without saying it. He was uncomfortable and at least someone not only noticed but also did SOMETHING about it.

Like, no hate to Zheng Wen but it's obvious the atmosphere is not pleasant for your friend, you should say or do something.

Speaking of being proactive, Shi De went and showed him a recording of him at the pool, in a low moment as we know he got a taste of that unrequited love.

Shu Yi is again asking the right questions ("why do you follow me all the time", "what do you want") that would give him a clear answer if he wasn't so dense.

The nerve of this guy. He's blackmailing him with the video.

So the only way to break this deal off is for Shu Yi to beat him, anything counts. Shi De tells him that and Shu Yi looks excited.

Skip to the next morning and now they're arguing over going on a car or a MRT.

Bro is blackmailing him with the video again, so they end up being late and Shu Yi pretends to be mad about it.

While Shu Yi keeps being his oblivious self, Shi De invites him for breakfast.

Class is boring and Shu Yi falls asleep on his shoulders, so adorable.

Classmate over there is telling Shi De to wake him up and our boy refuses. Let him have this moment, dude.

After class, Shu Yi suddendly wants to have lunch.

So now both of them are hiding, but

And Shu Yi knows this, but he says it still hurts. And that's totally reasonable

No, man. If you can get pass that, you'll just have an even stronger friendship. If not, she at least will know it and will try to explain how you're still important to her, even if her love isn't the same as the love you say you feel. The only thing actually puting your friendship in danger is the dreaded miscommunication.

And, of course, because is nice to say things. Bottling up your feelings will only hurt you more on the long run, you need to face them head on.

Sharing a meal is fruity activity, says science (at this point it's just me thinking these are dates, because if they're not, I'm even more curious about how a REAL date between these two would be).

Well, now the classmate, the same one from before, keeps butting in and acting as if this couple's existence is a personal offense.

But his dislike seems more inclined towards Shu Yi. [EAW: is this guy 🌈 too?]

Now our main couple and their closed ones (even tho the guy with no name may only be a classmate) are all in the same table, and this dude keeps making passive aggressive comments, but Shu Yi bro defends him and says that Zhou Shu Yi doesn't lose, not against Shi De, and if he did, it was on purpose.

Welp, a lot has happened in just one meal, right?

At an arcade, Shu Yi's friend is asking him why are they so close now? Is it another prank for Shi De?

Shu Yi does his litle finger gun at Shi De and I'm like don't worry, you already shot him, just look at how his eyes are hearts when he's with you.

Welp, we have a flustered Shi De.

It's obvious who keeps winning again and again. But in case it wasn't clear with episode 1, it's Shi De.

Shu Yi leaves, ready to be "tortured" again tomorrow, and Shi De is totally smug because he got what he wanted, at least. A nice time with future bf.

Cute aggression, they call it. Typical of future life partners.

Perfect opportunity to commit theft, says Shu Yi, but he's caught instantly.

Both begin to wrestle for the phone and for being caught and then somehow this happens.

The way I had to pause (the video and myself) after this. Gods, my mind is not pure and I'm going to hell.

I know it's basically the same scene, but this is just too perfect for a meme

Yu Xin apologizes saying "I thought you and Gao Shi De were together". Give them a few months. If it depends on Shi De, it could be weeks. If it's on Shu Yi's hand, maybe we'll need like three years at minimum.

It's usually "from their limited perspective, it can be seen as fruity" but man, from my non limited perpsective as someone who witnessed those moments, this is still fruity as f.

Yu Xin has the right energy but not the right idea and keeps insiting that Shu Yi confesses. Shi De gets tired of watching this uncomfortable circus and leaves with Shu Yi.

"Are they really not dating?" You both are his friends and know him well enough, I do not. And even I think this is very very rainbowish.

Well, Yu Xin, they are on a date so does this answer your question?

"Why do you add spicy if you can't take it?" "Cause you like it" This is a gem.

"I just know you too well" It's nice to know that at least from Shi De's perspective this is a rivalry more than an enemies relationship.

Shu Yi thanks him for getting him out of there, and says that Yu Xin and Zheng Wen are really compatible and make a perfect couple.

"What would you do if the one you love loves another person" says Shu Yi, having dealt with something similar to rejection but accepting it.

"Try to separate them and take adantage of it" says Shi De and Shu Yi gulps hard.

Try to run but you won't get far, kid.

After eating they go out but Shu Yi starts feeling bad and Shi De takes him to a doctor.

"If you want to die keep eating spicy hotpot"

Hey doc, I'll die but I'll die happy, ok?

So that was episode 2! Aside from the doctor being a bummer and not letting me and Shu Yi live (or well, die), it was fun. They're not even in an official relationship yet, but sure feels like it!

Shu Yi, man, like, besides the obvious hints through the whole episode, he literally kissed you. Like, how dense can you be?

And to @bitacrytic, oml, thanks a lot! Tumblr was being a b*tch and didn't let me answer your comment. And yeah, so far I'm invested. But also busy. I hope to finish the post for episode 3 sooner.

I can guarantee the most probable case is that I'll be uploading these blind reactions weekly, maybe sooner but only if I'm less busy those weeks.

If people would tell me their thoughts on this bingqiu au I have that would be splendid I’ll bake you a cake or smth anyways.

It’s sorta like a inuyasha au and the basic premise is Bingge died and gets reincarnated in the modern world as a normal orphan girl named Su Bingbing until she gets attacked by a demon who claims after centuries he’ll finally get his revenge on emperor Luo.

Ironically the reincarnation of Shen Qingqiu who is her boyfriends older brother who hates her bc he thinks she a gold digger is the one to save her and they explain that she must collect all the shards of xin mo which function like the Shikon jewel in this au. If she succeeds she can return to her normal life and Shen Qingqiu will personally ensure his parents accept her marriage to Shen Yuan.

They give her Zheng yang which when wielded temporarily allows her to regain Luo Binghe’s mortal cultivation and his male form. The more shards of Xin Mo LBH collects the more demonic cultivation and his pas life memories returns.

Poor Bingbing is forced to balance perfect grades extracurriculares and keep the fact that she can turn into a 6’2 dude with fangs and claws hidden from her boyfriend so he’s not disgusted (spoiler alert Shen Yuan is not.

I just think the mental image of Luo Binghe slaying demons while talking in a high pitched voice saying “I have a cold I won’t be making it today Yuan-ge don’t worry I left your bento outside your house 🥰” is very funny

Ali ele podia chorar à vontade, pois não importava quantas lágrimas derramasse, elas se misturariam com a água da piscina. Além disso, não importava o quão mal parecesse seu rosto marcado por lágrimas, pois estando sozinho naquela piscina, sua miséria não seria vista por outros. Ele afrouxou os dedos que seguravam firmemente o colar e observou-o afundar lentamente no fundo da piscina. Ele decidiu que só pegaria o objeto durante uma competição. A garota que lhe dera aquele colar agora tinha algo que ele amava mais do que estava qualificado para amá-la. Então ele também deveria deixar esse sentimento ir embora? Afinal, não era como guardar um colar que você já segurou firmemente em sua mão? De repente, um forte jato de água chamou sua atenção. Vê-la com Fang Zheng Wen e ouvir sua confissão te deixa tão triste que você nem quer mais viver?"O tom de voz usado por Gao Shi De era diferente, Zhou Shu Yi nunca o havia ouvido falar assim antes; mas o que veio à mente, bem como aos ouvidos da outra pessoa, era bastante diferente.

"Espera... como você sabe sobre Yu Xin e Zheng Wen?"De repente, sua mente foi cruzada por um lampejo e ele imediatamente entendeu que, desde seu encontro na sala de aula com o piano, aquele garoto o havia seguido o tempo todo até vê-lo em seu momento mais vergonhoso. Ele subitamente ficou irritado e gritou com ele: "Droga! Você estava me seguindo!"

"Eu..." Gao Shi De, no entanto, respondeu com apenas uma palavra e, em vez de retrucar, parou de se defender.

BL Show Review Series - We Best Love: No 1 For You

Please don't be put off by the odd title. We Best Love: No. 1 For You is the first season of a great Taiwanese drama. I don't think Taiwan gets enough credit for the quality BLs that they are producing.

Disclaimer that these are my own opinions, and I don’t know where the BL community as a whole stands on these shows. If I disliked a show you loved or visa versa, no disrespect is intended!

We Best Love: No. 1 For You Rating: 8.5/10

Do you like enemies to lovers? What about enemies where one person is actually secretly in love with the other? Then watch this drama. The first season is only six short episodes, and the chemistry between Gao Shi De and Zhou Shu Yi is off the charts.

Shu Yi is in his last year of university, and for his whole life, he's always come second to Shi De. No matter how hard he tries, Shi De always does a little bit better. To get away from him, Shu Yi purposely attends a different university.

What he doesn't know is that Shi De only pushes himself to do better in order to get Shu Yi's attention. Shi De has been in love with Shu Yi since elementary school, and he follows him to university in their third year.

There's no much pining from Shi De and denial from Shu Yi. The two main actors are lovely. They portray their roles very well. YU, the actor who plays Shu Yi, makes Shu Yi a hotheaded mess of a rich boy with an inferiority complex the size of the moon. Sam Lin, meanwhile, plays Shi De very sedately. He is resigned to loving Shu Yi unrequitedly forever and eagerly takes any attention from him that he can get.

Shu Yi starts the series having a crush on his childhood friend Jiang Yu Xin. The drama begins when she asks out their other friend, Fang Zheng Wen, instead of him.

Eventually, Shi De uses this to create a situation where Shi Yu has to hang out with him. What follows is Shi De pretending to bother Shi Yu while really just trying to make him happy and be friends with him.

The extended cast of characters isn't very interesting, except for Shi De's older cousin, the snarky and very, very handsome school nurse, Pei Shou Yi, who thinks that his cousin can do better than Shu Yi.

The season is very short, so the time spent on other characters besides Shu Yi and Shi De feels wasted. These side characters are just set ups for season two and beyond, and don't have much to add to the plot.

There's a very odd haunted house story line that felt forced and was clearly just plot device for the two leads to be locked in a room together.

The big confession scene is adorable and very well played by both actors. I won't give it away, but it's quite satisfying.

It's strange that a series so short is so well paced, but they manage to lay out the premise, ratchet up the sexual tension, present the problem, reach the emotional climax and still have a full episode for the viewers to bask in their relationship. Credit to the writer and director, but also the actors for doing so much emotional work showing the connection between Shu Yi and Shi De in so little time.

The end of season one will leave you eager for season two. Fear not! We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd is currently airing, so you can keep going. So far it's very intense, and I am enjoying it as much as I did season one.

"Maldito seja, aquele garoto é como um doce grudento do qual você não consegue se livrar. Você esbarra nele onde quer que vá."

Zhou Shu Yi caminhava pelo campus com um semblante carrancudo, planejando nadar algumas voltas na piscina para se livrar daquelas emoções estranhas e desconfortáveis. De repente, avistou duas figuras familiares de costas para ele, mas voltadas em sua direção. Instintivamente, aproximou-se alguns passos; ele queria surgir de surpresa e assustá-los, mas, sem querer, acabou ouvindo a conversa que se desenrolava entre os dois.

"Zheng Wen, você me odeia?" No corredor do prédio escolar, as pessoas pararam e se viraram para assistir este garoto recuar cada vez mais à medida que ouvia outra pergunta:

"Você gosta de mim?" Fang Zheng Wen paralisou, olhando ao redor confuso. Jiang Yu Xin observava o garoto que era dois anos mais novo do que ela. A garota tinha uma personalidade franca e não queria deixar as coisas tão ambíguas. Ele era apenas um amigo ou poderia ser seu namorado? Ela precisava saber naquele dia. Então, ela respirou fundo e reuniu toda a sua coragem para completar aquela confissão repentina.

"Eu gosto de você. Se você não me odeia, vamos sair juntos!"

Fang Zheng Wen ouviu a garota, mas hesitava em responder. Zhou Shu Yi estava parado atrás deles, ouvindo a conversa inesperada enquanto, inconscientemente, segurava o pingente pendurado em seu peito com uma das mãos e começava a morder o lábio. Ele acabara de descobrir que a pessoa por quem ele estava apaixonado há anos gostava de outra pessoa.Era pior do que levar um soco no estômago. Zhou Shu Yi só queria sair dali o mais rápido possível, então começou a recuar silenciosamente, mas, por acidente, deixou o celular cair no chão, produzindo um estalo ao atingir o piso.

"Shu Yi? Por que você está aqui?" Jiang Yu Xin e Fang Zheng Wen viraram-se ao mesmo tempo para olhar o amigo de infância que estava parado atrás deles.

Diante da pergunta da garota, Zhou Shu Yi se aproximou com uma expressão constrangida, abraçando o ombro de Fang Zheng Wen e fingindo ser generoso.

"Vamos, diga sim para a Yu Xin. Se você não a quiser, não acho que alguém terá coragem de querer uma garota tão durona. Assim, você beijará sua paixão de infância! Lembre-se de me enviar o convite de casamento quando vocês se casarem. E para o filho que vocês terão no futuro, eu terei que ser o padrinho. É isso."

"Shu Yi..." Quando Fang Zheng Wen olhou para o seu amigo, ele percebeu vagamente que Zhou Shu Yi também gostava de Yu Xin. Sua hesitação se devia apenas à preocupação com Zhou Shu Yi e sua reação, então ele não sabia como responder à confissão de Jiang Yu Xin.

"Não me olhe com esses olhos doces. Faça isso com sua namorada. Ok, vou deixar vocês aproveitarem esse momento romântico sem mais interrupções." Zhou Shu Yi, que não era de se emocionar facilmente, beliscou as bochechas de Fang Zheng Wen com as duas mãos, forçando-o a olhar na direção de Jiang Yu Xin antes de acariciá-las. Ele deu um tapinha no ombro do amigo e imediatamente correu para longe daquele lugar constrangedor.

Zhou Shu Yi viu o mundo ao seu redor passar de colorido para preto e branco enquanto caminhava por aqueles corredores e salas de aula familiares; ignorando os olhares sobre ele, jogou a mochila sobre os ombros e correu descontroladamente em direção à piscina.

"O que você está fazendo? Correr pelas escadas é perigoso!" Do segundo para o terceiro andar, Shi Zhe Yu, que quase foi atropelado, gritou com a pessoa que estava correndo escada abaixo; enquanto a pessoa que caminhava ao seu lado, embora um passo atrás, notou as lágrimas no rosto de Zhou Shu Yi ao passar por ele.

"Shi De?" Shi Zhe Yu agarrou o braço de Gao Shi De, atônito com sua reação, mas seu amigo apertou seu pulso e o afastou com um movimento brusco.

"De repente me lembrei de uma coisa, começar a ir para a aula."

"O que?"
