Does Hed help Les with grooming his back?

This is a really old ask about this post. And the answer is yes, definitely!

I ended up drawing them back in their room in Vibe City because I've been thinking a lot about them growing up there lately. This is a little before Les gets kicked out (big fight with dad) and they end up traveling around with Flea who is at uni at this point. (Flea isn't a local, he moved there because of uni a couple of years prior, and that's when Les and Hed met him. He is the only other mixed/non-fully funk troll they know at that point.)

In the drawing Hed is studying for a test. He's in the second year of high school when he drops out. This upsets and angers Les because he has good grades but Hed insists that they should form a band (like they used to talk about when younger) because he is secretly shit scared of letting Les live alone and fuck off to who knows where. - At this point in time Vibe City is pretty much grounded in the same location most of the time, and if Les doesn't have work, he likes to spend his time in the suburb/woods outside the city where he takes care of his beetle van, Scaab. And Hed is aware Les has been itching to leave the city for a while already...

Well. Signed the lease. So. It's done. I can try to calm down and in a few days start thinking abt the fun stuff (decorating, furniture, flea markets, etc) I want to see how many weird fun pieces I can get secondhand before going to the Swedish Store since rn I only have bedroom furniture and a small coffee table lmao

[Tidbits]: To not break the flow, gonna put the note first– in the first dialogue, Victor’s classmates address him as “老李” (Lao Li)~ the way I hate English vocabulary at times like this LMAO the term “老” here is used as a teasing remark by his classmates to express their respect/ honor for him sarcastically given that not only he’s ahead of the crowd but he acts far too mature beyond his years as well~😂

[MATH]:

“Sir Vic, what answer did you get for the second-to-last question?”

“Square root of 2.”

“OK! Now, what option did you choose for the tenth question?”

“I chose option C, but I’m not sure.”

“It should be option A… P is the symmetric point with respect to the straight line x-y=0…”

For the math teacher who loves giving impromptu quizzes, getting the students to engage in discussions during the ten-minute break is also one of their “conspiracies.”

[BIOLOGY]:

Looking at the textbook he’s already highlighted with the key points long ago, Victor takes out a collection of competition-grade questions that are carefully sorted to align with the relevant exam topics. As he listens, he begins contemplating the problems.

[CHINESE]:

Everyone is on their “best behavior” during the homeroom teacher’s class. The beaming woman is speaking eloquently on the stage, while Victor looks down at a reading comprehension analysis. He finds that he understands it even better than the original writer.

There are so many incomprehensible things in this world.

[CHEMISTRY]:

There are less than ten minutes to go until the end of the class. Glancing from afar, Victor notices that Zheng Xi, who is seated near the front door, already seems to be in a stance ready to bolt at any moment. Victor can’t help but feel hungry as he feels himself being infected by the sight.

[PHYSICS]:

Is it really possible for anyone to stay alert and not feel sleepy in the first class of the afternoon?

Yes, Victor doesn’t feel sleepy in the slightest.

[MUSIC]:

“Aside from focusing on studies, I hope that everyone can enhance their perception of various forms of “aesthetics.” This semester in music class, the teacher aims to create a platform for self-expression, where each student can showcase their talents through musical instrument performances, singing, or dancing. Last week, several students performed exceptionally well. Now, we’ll continue with the presentations in order of student numbers. Up next is student number 23.”

“Does the vice class monitor know how to play the piano?”

“I’m not sure, I’ve never seen him playing it.”

Led by the arrangement of the passionate young teacher, the class is divided into multiple small groups, each assigned to perform different roles based on the textbook content. However––

With a sense of resignation, Victor touches the curly wig on his head and remains silent for a moment. Despite so, he still earnestly delivers the lines of the judge.

“I’m already a mature high school student,” he thinks to himself, feeling at a loss for words.

One of the biggest benefits of the campus activities on Thursday is that Victor can seamlessly participate in the Model United Nations (MUN) right after his English class.

Even if one practices their lines in advance, no one will raise an eyebrow. The school administration teacher is really nice.

In the world of rock, Queen stands out as a good example of the clash between guitar and piano in songwriting. I think that’s where you stumble across those more unusual arrangements and chord structures.

In my heart I want to do more hard rock music, but at the same time, I’m much more attracted to the piano. I think that automatically causes something unusual to happen.

Also Smashing Pumpkins, even though they’re not piano-based. I always found their arrangements interesting, like on the album, Siamese Dream. In terms of guitar, I also like Rage Against the Machine and Jimi Hendrix.

But in terms of piano, I love Ben Folds, but to me, that’s a very different style of music. I love the low, heavy piano bit in “Jackson Cannery.” It made me realise if you want to get heavy, you have to get down there and hit some large chord.

It feels like today is going to be a lucky day.

Having an extra class-free period for independent research and study time due to the group assignment feels quite enjoyable.

Of course, Lucien hopes this joy can extend to the day of submission as well.

Lucien rarely sits in the cafeteria to eat.

He usually brings something to eat on the go, getting his daily nutrition while walking or reading.

Even so, even when sitting in the cafeteria, the most satisfying companion for his meal is still a textbook that needs to be studied in advance.

The professor starts sharing stories from his own student days.

When the professor mentions what his own professor researched, Lucien can't help but feel a sense of familiarity. After some thought, he realizes that this is the author of a significant number of references used in his previous research.

Thinking like this, he plans to ask the professor after class if he can help introduce that scholar. He still has many questions to ask.

During the long laboratory class, there is always a bit more whispering and exchange between classmates than usual.

"How could that happen! He took such good care of the mice that they ended up overweight, so he had to start over."

Lucien blinks, he feels that the slime mold in front of him has become a bit more cute.

During the intervals between each class, there are always various students rushing around within the school grounds.

Lucien is also one of the figures walking among the crowd.

He watches as time ticks away, quickening his pace, and starts seriously considering whether to buy a mode of transportation like a bicycle.

After all, he often needs to walk across the street to get to the next classroom.

Amidst the hustle and bustle, Lucien feels that perhaps his next project should focus on these few people from the same laboratory with him as a case study.

Why are they still throwing parties after working around the clock, claiming it as "recharging spirits and preparing for the upcoming crictical phase of the project"?

Lucien thinks that the real reason for his exhaustion is clearly this party.

Human capabilities really do vary from person to person.

While packing up the equipment, Lucien sees several sets of NOU cards in the cabinet.

Colt enthusiastically introduces the NOU cards to him: "This is the classic version, this is the version with Braille, this is the version co-branded with a game... The history of these cards can be traced back to the first batch of graduates from Dr. Lawson!"

Lucien is a little bit stunned.

Take care of your eyes and make sure to rest properly.

I hope the next class, Brother Xiao Ying can be more serious while teaching. In a rare moment, Victor prays to himself.

Right after the warm-up, the students are notified to go back to the classroom. It seems like something serious is about to be announced.

The result is that the physics teacher wins the class registration battle.

The head teacher’s eyes curve into a smile, but it silences the entire classroom in fear,

Victor quietly opens the math paper tucked beneath his Chinese textbook and starts writing to save time.

Using the first-person narrative will create a warm and friendly tone, while incorporating the second-person will enhance the emotional expression of the article, and using the third-person will portray objectivity…

[CLASS MEETING]:

Today’s class meeting is rare in that it hasn’t devolved into a session of appreciation for classical poetry, and this causes everyone’s enthusiasm after school to soar.

When Victor completes his assigned duties and returns to the dormitory to retrieve his luggage, he finds that everyone has already left the dorm.

That’s alright; it came as a blessing in disguise to help avoid the crowded bus – Victor thinks this to himself as he walks to the bus station and waits patiently.

“Meow——”

Suddenly, a very soft cat purring reaches his ears, prompting him to turn around subconsciously. The little kitten’s paw gently taps on the glass window, as if extending him an invitation.

He walks over and greets the little kitten from the other side of the glass. He smiles happily, and as he turns back, the bus behind him has already left.
