What would be the perfect "Miraculous team" for you?

At this point, the characters that do stand out most to me as major players that could be on a plausible team are: Marinette, Adrien, Felix, Alya, Nino, Kagami, and Zoe.

Honorable mentions/maybes: Ali, Aurore, Chloe, Lila, Juleka, Ivan, and Kim.

Marinette is a must. I do really enjoy writing her, and making my desired tweaks, and it is kinda a shame a lot of recent writing with her is in salt response to canon treatment. It's a big part of the reason I'm on an ML writing break. But she's a must. Most likely with kwami swaps as I am kinda done with her as Ladybug and working off Tikki. Tikki I think could better serve elsewhere and Marinette could be refreshing working off a different personality.

Adrien by default is kinda a must, though his biggest help is that he has a lot of options in what can be done with him. Could go along canon as starting off as a goofball hero that will get serious (though still keep his sense of humor), and be at a crossroads of working with his father or going against him. He could also work with Gabriel at the start, either openly or secretly, and through friendship finds himself as a crossroad. Could also do him joining later, initially exploring him as a civilian, maybe he runs the Ladyblog and wants to unmask heroes and he's extra excited cause his father is actually supportive and invested in his interest. There's some good options for him.

Felix is a must, partly from bias, but he does have a good established arc from starting as an antagonistic loner to turning to a true hero. And the stiff, skeptic, passive aggressive personality he can have could be a good counter to other personalities. And if you want to work off cnaon, he can go absolute gremlin.

Alya is another must. Frustrating as she is, she's a character I see a lot of potential for. Like, a lot of the "lessons" Marinette is expected to learn would better apply to her. And like Adrien, she'd be a great character if she was allowed to learn and improve. And I see a lot of potential in exploring her as a hero at the start, cause you got Alya wanting to start out for glory and attention, kinda treats it as a game initially, and she's on the side of reckless with secrecy, and I just see a lot of good potential for her as a major lead to follow at the start. Learning that heroing isn't all fun and glory, sometimes it's hard, and with reveals, there are pros to it, but there are also cons. She could really add to the secrecy vs reveal debate.

Nino is kinda here by default, but the boy needs something. Ideally something to let him stand on his own, especially outside Alya and Adrien. And one of the best ways to do that is explore him as a Miraculous hero at the start. And he wants to be a film director, so, maybe his focus arc could relate to leadership, learning to develop those skills, awareness of his team and what they can do, and how to best direct them. I will say, of this list, I could also roll with Nino as the supportive civilian friend who grounds one of the leads as he is a character who doesn't have a lot going on.

Kagami, despite all her issues as a character, is a character that caught my attention in Riptose. And while she got a lot of odd choices and polarizing characterization, taking the scattered pieces I can see a potential character being crafted. You got potential in her as the blunt ice queen who's overly dedicated and a little too serious, she wants to make friends but she's socially awkward and can come off as mean, she wants to make her mom proud but she also feels stifled. And by her official skills, she's one of the few characters that could actually vigilante and help the heroes without a Miraculous, or try to compete with them as her mom is tasking her with the chance to fight superhumans and prove herself.

Zoe is in a weird boat as she came in so late and I stopped watching ML so I didn't click with her all that well, but seeing more of her as Kitty and the apparent partner for Alya, it did prompt me to think and consider her more and brainstorm ideas. There's definitely something to work off of with her wanting to please Chloe and pretending to follow her along, but that's not who Zoe is and she can have an arc of figuring herself out, dealing with the tension and mistrust that her relation with Chloe brings, and letting herself flourish. Adjustments though would have to be made for her to come in sooner or be at Paris at the start, either as Chloe's younger sister or maybe twin, or her cousin, or we rip off the bandaid of the vague Bourgeois union, say they're divorced, and Audrey remarried and Zoe is Chloe's stepsister and she's up in Paris so they can "bond". I will say, with her coming in so late, she's also a character I can just exclude.

For honorable mentions where I can see potential or fun or I wish they had more attention:

Ali has a lot of the same appeals as Adrien, is shown to be very sweet, and I am bummed so little was done with him. He's not present enough to warrant being on the main team, but I like him enough that I should try and write more with him.

Chloe I can acknowledge has potential as a character, and that chance of a redemption arc is there, and she can be loads of fun to write. But I also feel irritated with her as she was a waste of time. I get they were halfheartedly going for "will she be good or will she be evil", but it was such a butcher job and you could tell the team was split, and instead of compromising, they just put in both potential to be good and her clearly not going to get better. And I'm just stuck in that irritating spot where I can SEE the potential but she may ultimately better serve as a villain/antagonist.

And this is where Aurore comes in, having all the perks of Chloe being haughty and proud, but none of the downsides. She was a lot of fun to write in Leave for Mendeleiev, and honestly, when I started ML with Stormy Weather, I actually thought she was a major character since she had the initial focus point. Color me surprise when she ultimately became a background character. And then disappeared for a while.

Lila is in a similar boat to Chloe, and honestly between them on who should get a redemption, it's pretty even them for me as they're both terrible. But we didn't NEED two mean girls to go against Marinette. Now, if they were a rival/foil to another character, and Marinette just worked mostly off one of them, then having two mean girls could've worked better. Either way, Lila redemption would have to be around Volpina, cause Chameleon and onward is a trainwreck and there's no way to pick up the pieces of that. And for a chracter who lies a lot, can be petty and spiteful, she has promise to be a lot of fun, and to bring a lot of chaos.

Between the two Couffaine siblings, Juleka is the one I see a lot of potential for writing wise, as she does have that established struggle of trying to find her voice. And by her livelihood, you could play off the comedy of her being chaotic but chill, and ready to take things to the extremes (like kidnapping). And there's the friendship potential that canon tapped into with her and Marinette's shared interest in fashion (I actually think that if the show was more realistic on friend pairs, Marinette would've been in a trio with Juleka and Rose).

Kim is on this list because he cracks me up. Peak himbo but surprisingly wise. That is if we can ignore how he got ruined in s5.

Lastly, Ivan. He was actually the first classmate I really paid attention to, and I saw a promising story to work off with him. Watching Origins, you see most of the class is intimidated by him, so I thought he could have an arc of changing people's perspective, instead of him being feared he's seen as a protector. Which kinda got speedran in the background, but I guess we can't have a plus size character as the focal point. But I'd like to do him as a major lead sometime.

Rajbow AU where Bowie and Emma go ice skating during free skate hours at the rink Raj and Wayne work part time to help cover hockey costs

except instead of being bad at it, Bowie fully knowing how to skate- instead faking a minor (graceful) fall so that the cute rink employee with the eyebrows comes over to help him up and check on him. And maybe get his number

Got carried away thinking about this in detail so if you want the longer babbly almost-a-fic version it's under the cut lmao

[disclaimer: everything ik abt ice rinks is from going to the one at the mall like. maybe three times in my life bdbsbnxnd. I live in Texas] [i've also literally never written fanfic and so am not much of a writer but this kind of possessed me when i was bored at work so if the dialogue is bad or ooc and the tense is all off.... no its not lmao]

Anyways - Emma's decided she's going to invest in hobbies that she DIDN'T share with chase, something completely separate and away from him -- chase thinks its to impress him bc of course he does. someone send this boy to detention--and drags Bowie along "so she's not alone, obviously"

good friend that he is, Bowie goes with, and especially bc Bowie DOES know how to skate - pretty well actually. he's no figure skater/hockey player/etc, but if Bowies going to do anything in public he's going to do it well. he can make his way around the rink with ease, manage a little fancy footwork when he wants to, enough to pull a minor trick out of his hat. besides, what's the point of doing something if you can't show off a little bit? never hurts to catch someone's eye, or establish yourself to your peers as someone who knows what they're doing -- and really, Bowie's counting on his reputation to ensure those prom votes.

what Bowie didn't count on was the cute hockey boy that was handing off skate rentals to blush and stammer so sweetly when he flirted with him for the hell of it. and he really didn't count on said cute hockey boy having a shift change and heading onto the rink to fill in as ice monitor pretty soon after he and Emma start skating. Even in the flourescent lighting the boy is cute, and it doesn't take a genius to see how hockey has bulked him up - and he really was so endearing when he was flustered- so Bowie figures why not try his hand at a little more fun. And really, what better way to shoot his shot than to fake needing a little extra help from a buff hockey player?

Naturally Wayne and Raj work their stations together - their manager had tried to separate them once and was QUICK to never make that mistake again - so when they've switched out with their coworkers handling skate rentals, they're immediately out on the ice together, as loud and rambunctious as they can get away with without reprimand

if Raj is a little (not-so) secretly excited to maybe see the cute boy that winked at him earlier - Yknow, bc it made him feel excited! ...whatever that meant - then that's between him, Wayne, and the hockey gods. otherwise hes just pumped to be on the ice with his best bud. They're making their rounds, keeping an eye out for anything dangerous or against the rules that they might have to intervene, and otherwise yelling hockey metaphors and mutual encouragement as loudly as they can get away with

and right when Wayne has to slip away to separate a couple of kids trying to trip eachother, Bowie decides to makes his move

He gives emma the heads up that he's gonna slow down and try something, and does his best to fall as gracefully as he can - maintaining the look of competence is still important after all - while still doing so loud enough to garner the cute hockey boy's - Rajie?- attention. He sits on the ice a second longer than he strictly necessary, and by the time he's ready to stand back up Raj is there holding out a steady hand, bushy eyebrows pulled together in concern.

"oh my god are you okay - here I'll help you up" He looks so worried for a moment that Bowie almost feels bad for lying. Almost.

"well i'm much better now" Bowie throws the boy another wink, earning him the exact flustered face Raj had responded with before. Forget subtlety if that's the reaction he was going to get by being forward, "but I do think my ankle could use a little TLC - care to help me get somewhere to sit down?

"Uh yes! Yes of course, thats. thats what I'm here for!" Raj can feel his face heating up as he stammers under the gaze of the boy in front of him "I'm Raj, uh by the way"

And isn't he just too cute "I'm Bowie, it's nice to meet you"

Raj quickly signals to Wayne the general situation, and then solidifies himself into position to help Bowie up without falling himself. after that it doesn't take too much finagling to get bowie back up to his feet and leaning heavily on raj's shoulder and the two of them start to slowly make their way back off of the rink. Bowie can't help but smile a bit- he was absolutely right about Raj being buff, and he couldn't wait to see what else he had in store.

Raj, nervous about having a cute boy so close to him suddenly, does what he does best - fall into Hockey talk - or in this case, hockey adjacent. Hockey could be a dangerous sport - he'd helped teammates with ankle sprains plenty of times! It would probably help Bowie feel better to know that Raj has this handled "We'll have to check which part of your ankle hurts once we sit you down - just to make sure it's not a fracture. You can lean on me more if you need! its uh, you don't want to put too much pressure on it until we can take a look at it. I should have some extra stuff in my bag to wrap it up if its a sprain, and then I can see if we still have ice packs in the first aid kit! Hopefully it's just a sprain, but dont worry if it's worse I'll still make sure you're okay! When me and wayne - that's my buddy - were kids, I fractured my arm pretty bad at practic-"

Bowie had seen already that Raj was a little nervous talking to him, if plenty enthusiastic. But the sweetness of his scramble to comfort Bowie for an injury that hadn't even occured - not that he had to know that - was invigorating none the less. There was a genuineness to the boy that was refreshing, and he was sure if he was actually hurt, he would be feeling calmed and comforted by his babbling. If not for the talk about first aid, then for the earnestness in Raj's telling of his own past injuries on the ice.

Raj doesn't realize he's still talking until he's helping Bowie sit down on a bench outside near the skate rental area. "oh sorry if that was too much - I'm gonna go get the first aid kit then I'll be right back!"

He walked off quickly, glad for the chance to take a breather, and keep his head from being clouded by sharp eyes and quit witted flirting. Not to mention the bold choice of Bowie to wear a crop top to go ice skating. It certainly did look nice on him

Once Raj returns, he leans down and carefully begins checking Bowies ankle for anything serious - slowly pressing on the skin and rotating the foot to gauge maneuverability. Satisfied with Bowie's assessment that the pain wasn't too bad, he got to work wrapping his foot - Raj wasn't going to let shoddy first aid exacerbate the problem.

Looking down at the hockey player in front of him, Bowie gets to work on his own interests. "Thank you for all your help - usually I consider myself a pretty good skater, but oh well. I guess one person can't be fantastic at everything all the time," he punctuated with a large sigh, wiggling his toes when Raj motions for him to.

"Oh I'm sure you're always fantastic! I've been skating since I could walk and even I still take a tumble from time to time - that doesn't mean you aren't great! I guess mine usually come from bad checks though eh? Oh because I play hockey! I don't remember if I told you that-- A-anyways, I didn't really get to see you skate before you fell but I'm sure you're incredible. I mean you seem incredible. At skating! I mean"

Raj finally cuts himself off, hoping to end the awkardness of his own rambling. All he had to do was finish wrapping up Bowie's ankle and exit the interaction with minimal blushing - he could do that! He could hear Wayne's voice hyping him up in his head - was a snow owl, he'd faced goons bent on injuring and cross checks more than even made sense for a highschool league - he could handle getting through a conversation with a cute boy. Even if said cute boy had long eyelashes and a knowing smile and a pearl necklace expertly framing his neck.

Bowie of course could not be more pleased - it seems Raj was more than just fun to fluster. He was sweet and earnest and clearly passionate about hockey - enough that Bowie found himself actually looking forward to hearing more of Raj's confusing hockey lingo, if it meant seeing that focused look in his eyes when he started getting carried away.

"Well if you really think so, maybe you'd like to see how incredible I am some other time - when you're not working, of course"

"For sure dude! That sounds like loads of fun!" Raj's agreement comes out enthusiastic, until he look down at Bowies ankle in his hands, freshly wrapped and now with an ice pack to match "But not until your ankle's healed up - skating's great but you won't be able to if you hurt your ankle worse by pushing it." The sudden intensity of his expression betraying how seriously the boy takes his sport.

Bowie stifles a laugh "It really doesn't hurt that much, but deal. Maybe you can show me some of your fancy hockey moves while we're at it" he said liltingly. and theres that blush again, hard to see on his skin but clear as day to the boy who triggered it "in the meantime though -can I get your number?"

Raj answers without even taking a beat "Oh I'm number 8! On the snow owls, I'm actually alternate capt-" he's cut off by a gentle hand on his own where it's still holding the ice pack.

"I actually meant your phone number" bowie's ecpression is nothing but kind, so Raj doesn't feel quite so clueless when he manages out a

"Right! yes, right - here let me see your phone"

the two boys quickly exchange numbers, as Bowie continues his previous thought "But I'd love to hear all about your hockey team on our date"

"Yeah! ha, that sounds good."

The two of them stay a moment just to smile at one another, before the moment is broken-

"RAJIE! Are you doin okay there bud? Do you need some help?" "Don't worry Wayners! I'll be over in a sec!"

Raj turns back to Bowie, sheepish "I uh, gotta get back to work, do you have somebody that can take you home safe?"

Bowie presses a quick peck to his cheek, "I've got a friend here with me, no need to worry about little ole me. I'll see you soon though, handsome"

And again that blush. Raj manages to stammer through a goodbye before trudging back to the ice - doing a quick lap around at full speed to release some of his energy before returning to his best friends side. He'd tell Wayne all about it later, for now he was just doing his best not to smile too hard.

Eventually Emma finds her way to Bowie sat on a bench, carefully tying his shoes back over a newly bandaged ankle.

"sooo how'd it go? you didn't really hurt your ankle did you? because you know I'd feel awful for bringing you here if you got hurt and didn't even get a cute boy's number out of it"

"No on the injury, Yes on getting his number - let's head back to your house, I'll catch you up on the ride home"

"Yes! well I'm glad one of us had a good time - after you left Chase walked by - how did he even know we were here? He's so -"

Bowie tunes out the rest of his friends rant, he'd heard this before, and he was sure she'd forgive him for not listening if he told her he was thinking about his upcoming date with Raj. The boy really was too good, and Bowie hadn't even really had to work very hard to find that out. He found himself throwing in an occasional remark to keep Emma going as they walked, thinking about the intensity with which Raj clearly loved sports, about the simple sincerity in the way that he talked. This really could be the start of something special

Yep, the trip to the ice rink had gone better than imagined. He just needed to admit to Raj that he had fallen on purpose and all would be well.

After they were on their date, of course.

Pick Up Games - A 90s Avengers Fic

Synopsis: In a universe where Carol Danvers stays her ass put on Earth and the entire MCU takes place during the greatest decade, I present to you: the Avengers in the 90s, playing street ball

Pairings: Carol Danvers/Maria Rambeau, BestFriends!Maria Rambeau & Sam Wilson, Implied Sam Wilson/Bucky Barnes, V Subtle BlackHill

Warnings: Allusions to the traumatizing singing animatronics at Chuck E. Cheese

In 1996, Sam Wilson is always wearing his Scottie Pippen Chicago Bulls jersey.

“MJ would be nothing without Pippen,” he constantly and confidently explains to anyone who will listen. “Every Michael needs his Scottie.”

Sam thinks he’s a much better basketball player than he actually is, but he can hold his own if he can keep his trigger-happy hands from launching an unnecessary three-pointer in pick-up games. He’ll maybe make one per game (and will consider himself the next Steve Kerr because of it), but he makes up for it because he’s the absolute king of assists.

Sam and Carol Danvers lead the charge to get some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and the Avengers together to play pick-up every Saturday morning at the closest park. Maria and Monica Rambeau always dutifully watch from the bleachers (the former acting like its her greatest weekend inconvenience, though they all know she loves it). Monica insists on bringing the boombox, acts as the official DJ as she switches back and forth between the local hip hop and classic rock stations, because Carol swears nothing gets her in the game like glam metal.

Steve Rogers can always be seen nervously pacing the sidelines (he doesn’t think it’d be fair if he and his bulging chest join the game; besides he’s always been more of a baseball kind of guy), acting as the unofficial referee, no matter how many times they explain to him that the very nature of street ball is no rules.

“I just don’t want anybody to get hurt,” he whines with a pout so unintentionally puppy-like that they can’t help but keep letting him ref.

They call Bucky Barnes “the silent assassin” because you forget he’s there until suddenly he’s dropped twenty buckets on you out of nowhere. He grumbles every time Sam smacks his ass after a good play, but they all share secret smirks at the way he also flushes.

Rambeau alternates between heckling Sam every time he bricks a shot and hollering, “Hell yeah, that’s my best friend!” whenever he does his signature fake right, dish left to a wide open Hawkeye who sinks the three or lobs a perfect ally oop to Thor for the slam dunk.

Speaking of Hawkeye, Clint Barton is absolutely useless unless he’s behind the arc. Can’t dribble worth shit, but no one’s ever seen him miss a shot. Not ever.

Natasha Romanoff doesn’t play but can always be found wearing the shortest shorts anyone’s ever seen as she lounges on the bleachers, bobbing her head to the radio and trading jokes with Monica. When the game ends, she husks out a ‘good game, boys’ until an insistent cough draws her attention to a playfully glowering Maria Hill (who is an absolute beast on defense and in the post with that delightfully long torso of hers).

Without fail, Natasha flashes her the kind of smirk that’ll make you have to gulp down an entire gatorade in one go.

“But of course as always, the ladies did it better.”

“Thank you.” That would be Carol interrupting the moment. She’s the self-proclaimed captain every week and takes pick-up games way too seriously. Peter Parker’s no longer allowed to play with them because everyone’s afraid her competitiveness with crush his tiny little earnest spirit.

Carol’s absolutely radiant when her team wins, though, immediately beelining it to the bleachers to hoist a cheering Monica onto her shoulders as she quirks an eyebrow at the girl’s pretending-not-to-be-impressed mother.

“Don’t I get something for winning?” Carol baits.

“Yeah, you get to follow this ass to the car so you can buy us lunch.”

There’s a chorus of “oooohs” and Carol pouts until Rambeau breaks down and plants a kiss on her lips. Monica scrambles off Carol’s shoulders to leap into the arms of an approaching Sam (in a frankly very dangerous maneuver that Maria side eyes with pursed lips) as they all head for the parking lot. Bruce Banner - who shows up late and smothered in sunscreen - consoles a ruddy faced Thor with an awkward pat on the back, because the God of Thunder is absolutely a sore loser.

(“These silly Midgard games have nothing on the grand arena events we’d hold on Asgard each century! There I am the undisputed champion!”)

Carol and Maria jump into their neighboring convertibles, playfully competing to see who can get Monica to ride with them until the girl proclaims “I want to ride with Uncle Sam!” Carol gapes and Maria rolls her eyes fondly as Sam triumphantly cackles.

“You raising her right, Rambeau,” Sam teases. “She knows quality when she sees it.”

Carol putting her middle finger on display in his direction just makes Sam laugh louder as he carries Monica over to his trusty blue Camry, followed a little too close by Bucky (everyone does them the courtesy of pretending not to notice). Steve throws his ham-hocked leg over his Harley, and the rest pile into Barton’s mini van (Natasha forgoes claiming her usual assumed position of shot gun to instead press her thighs against a self-satisfied Maria Hill in the backseat).

They make their way to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch because let’s be real, Monica calls the shots (and Sam honestly likes their pizza, he doesn’t care how the super soldier Brooklyn Boys give him shit for this “blasphemy”). Tony Stark, Pepper Potts and little Morgan Stark meet them there and Stark spontaneously decides to buy a birthday party package, even though it’s nowhere close to anyone’s birthday and the Chuck E. Cheese is technically already fully booked for the day. But he’s Tony Stark - like they’re really gonna say no. With a slice of pizza in one hand and a fountain coke in the other, Tony babbles on about how he could improve the animatronic technology to make it less creepy.

“I better not go into the garage later and see one of those things,” Pepper warns as she warily eyes the stuttering movements of robotic Chuck and gang as they sing an honestly not terrible cover of the Beatles “Eight Days a Week.”

Carol and Monica go on a rampage through all the games and absolutely clean out the place, earning enough tickets to win a huge Captain Marvel plushie that Carol cheekily gifts Maria (who rolls her eyes but secretly pulls out to cuddle against every time Carol’s called up to space for long periods of time) and Thor talks excitedly about the nine realms with a creature he swears he recognizes from space until Bruce has to gently point out that it’s just a human in a giant rat costume.

That night, Carol gets an AOL instant message from NicholasNotNickFury:

NicholasNotNickFury: thanks for inviting me to your little Saturday pick up games

CaptainHotStuff: but we didn’t invite you

NicholasNotNickFury: IT WAS SARCASM DANVERS

Shoujo manga recommendations - love triangle

1. Ao Haru Ride

While most girls desire popularity among boys, Futaba Yoshioka wants the exact opposite. After attracting many admirers back in middle school which resulted in her being shunned by her female classmates, she decided that high school will be her chance to revamp her image. Therefore, she starts acting unfeminine and indifferent to boys, allowing her to make some “friends” along the way.

Little does Futaba know, her life will take another drastic turn when her first love, Kou Mabuchi, returns after his sudden disappearance years ago in middle school. She pours out her story, so he takes pity on her (even though he'd pointed out that she can't really take a part-time job if she doesn't have a guardian) and offers the job as a live-in position. However, he has one condition: she's supposed to disguise herself so his brothers don't take an interest in her. Her disguise: lots of towels around her body, so she looks fat; makeup so she looks old (39); plus her hair is all loose and she's wearing glasses.

28. Sekirara ni Kiss

Chitose has always done well wearing her face like a mask: always smiling, always cute. She feels complete whenever she put it on because it's built to hide her unrefined self: no one hates her, and no one makes fun of her. But after meeting a cute boy who is instinctively more annoyed by her mask than her real self, can Chitose change and make people accept her for who she really is?

29. Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume

here is a post of Why I Like Nanamaru Sanbatsu which may or may not also be a Reasons Why You Should Watch Nanamaru Sanbatsu but it’s not made with the intent of persuasion and more of me just gushing over things because this isn’t spoiler friendly

1) Niche Sport

I’m not a stranger to “Sport but it doesn’t involve Ball or Sweat”. That’s a lie, the players sweat a lot in Chihayafuru. The fact that Sasaijma (and then another character in the later chapters in the manga) refer to Karuta is a reason enough to pick up the series. Hikaru no Go was one of my earlier sports anime as well. It’s not like I was a fan of Go or Karuta either but the way the characters wholeheartedly loved what they were doing (and competitively), it made me love it as well. The same definitely goes for Quiz Bowl. While the two I listed were something I completely had no clue how the rules go, Quiz Bowl is a bit more obvious so it’s easier to get into.

(kinda hate these promo pics because there looks like so many fcking charas but really you just need to remember like 5 of them)

2) Nerdy Protag in a Sports anime

Actually coming from YowaPeda, Crunchyroll recommended this amongst other things. YowaPeda did the trope a lot better, given that you’d never associate an Otaku with Biking while a Bookworm being associated with Quiz Bowl does not seem unheard of. But the idea of a nerdy protagonist in a competitive sport was still an allure.

And oops, I think Koshiyama is a cutie so there’s a huge bias towards that. The fact that Horie Shun who voices Enta Jinnai from Sarazanmai voices Koshiyama Shiki gave me a laugh and he actually fits his role very well. Further emphasizes his cuteness without Enta’s weird gay crush lol

3) Ishikawa Kaito

I’m not above watching anime for seiyuu reasons alone but I actually went in blind with this series and to my surprise one of my favs was in it. I’d known Kaito mostly for Kageyama Tobio first, but he’s gone through so many other roles that I enjoy (Kaki from Pokemon SM, Iida from BokuHero, Mimura Subaru from 2.43) and I’ve watched a lot of seiyuu events/radios with him so I’m just a big fan of him in general. Dunno if I should have just merged this point with the next but-

4) Mikuriya Chisato

Kaito has The Range and can do whatever role he wants (I’m most impressed by his role as Alan from BNA) but I think I have a weakness for when he’s slightly an asshole. Mikuriya gave off the generic rival trope, which he kind of is. I got some Subaru vibes from him as well. I don’t know if he’s canonically handsome, but yes I think he’s very good looking for an anime character. Plus the fact that he’s The Cool Guy but is participating in such a sport as Quiz Bowl. AND the moe gap that is his feminine sounding first name and the possibility that he might also actually be an otaku is 👌👌👌👌

My friend had tagged something with him as “Chazz Princeton with a haircut” and while Not Entirely, he is the “We are not friends, we are rivals but I interact and help you enough that we are practically friends but i will continue to deny it” and I love that trope. The way he’s so not interested in Gorls or Nonsense reminds me of Manga Manjoume, though nowhere as serious because he is not above nonsense himself.

5) Fukami Mari

The moment she was introduced, I had very low expectations for her. Of course she is the one that drags Koshiyama into the Quiz Bowl world BUT she doesn’t fall into the trope of “Female is very good at The Thing, BUT Newbie Male MC does it better than her almost immediately”. I’m so glad for that because as you go on with the series, she is very much an entire character and not just a female support cast.

She loves Quiz Bowl but she’s not the best or even very good at it. Her childhood friend from another school (which I was 75% betting that it was going to be a male and a potential love interest) turned out to be a female friend. Instead of “cat fight”, they are still very amicable towards each other and support each other but also acknowledge each other as rivals. The fact that Yuki had only started Quiz Bowl because of Mari but liked it enough to continue on by herself, I think that’s really great.

The anime doesn’t get to it, but she confronts her brother about why he quit Quiz Bowl and challenges him. She has her own goals and ambitions and you see her working on it. She also has her strengths and weaknesses and is a vital addition to the Buzou Quiz Team. Fukami Mari is A Good Girl and I won’t tolerate any slander towards her. The way the beginning of the series sexuallizes her via putting her and Koshiyama into generic anime situations is so uncomfortable but I’m glad they move past that later.

Also since their group isn’t technically a Club (?) Mari isn’t just Female Manager. A plus to Quiz Bowl being Co-Ed sport.

6) Quiz Questions

I like trivia. It’s a little harder to guess the questions along with the anime because you’d have to pause all the time and half the time the contestants are going to buzz in early before you hear the entire question. Unfortunately, unless you actually are a fan of random knowledge or a huge nerd, the questions might actually be hard as well. I literally only knew about 3 questions asked in the entire series and its the anime/manga related ones lol. Still, I enjoyed seeing the characters draw their conclusions and to know what each character’s strong and weak points were. (Mikuriya using Math to calculate the Day of the Week from the past was 😚👌)

7) Side Characters

The first one I’m thinking is obviously Sonohara Akira. The moment of his first appearance, I had a hunch that it wasn’t exactly as it looked. He’s a little schemer but he has his own code of ethics, so he’s not all that bad. (Also hes A Gamer, so Relatable.) The fact that he’s related to Sonohara of Asagaoka makes it all the more interesting because they're’ so different. The way everyone reacts to him is so interesting because he doesn’t take it seriously while everyone else does. My favorite interactions with him aside from the Akiba Squad are the ones with Ookura. (I actually prefer to ship them over Niina/Akira lol)

Sasajima, mysterious Quiz Master with a past related to Fukami’s brother, who used to go to the Prestigious Quiz King School. Character wise, he doesn’t seem interesting but I love his idea of what a Quiz Bowl should be. My favorite parts of a series is when they love the thing they do, and that having fun is what is the most important. Of course you have to be fairly good at the thing first to be able to enjoy yourself freely but he never brags and is a supportive senpai.

Jinko. She’s cute. That’s good enough for me lol. I guess her Electronics Thing is also pretty cool. I like seeing the Sasajimas interact.

8) Ship

Okay, well, its obvious where I fall here. I don’t remember the last time I’ve watched such a generic sport series with a one on one protag vs rival. I’m not above shipping the “obvious/main” ship, as SasuNaru and Edgewright are some of my ships. However I didn’t ship Akira/Hikaru and I don’t ship KageHina but I do ship something like Manjoume/Judai and if asked MakoHaru vs RinHaru, I’d pick the latter, so it might just be a matter of tastes and I won’t fall immediately into every “rival” ship.

So why would I ship Mikuriya/Koshiyama? Because I love it when the Cool Guy falls for the Nerd and EXTRA POINTS if the Cool Guy is also secretly a nerd too. When I mean secretly a nerd, I don’t mean Mikuriya being on quiz bowl but that he might be a closet Otaku. (ImaSaka is everything about this trope.)

Anyway, they are the main two rivals in the series, so of course they acknowledge each other. Koshiyama took it so dramatically but in the past, nobody cared about his presence, let alone think that he’s a Threat. Mikuriya is a Hot Shot and thinks he’s better than everyone but this newb with potential beat him one time (unofficially) so he’s automatically curious.

Even though it is Hot Blooded Competition, Mikuriya always seems to encourage and cheer Koshiyama on (in his own rival-y way of course) whenever he feels down about not being strong enough to compete with him. (When they were lining up for the Third round at Asagaoka) Even when Koshiyama lost, after Mikuriya had a huge handicap, Mikuriya tells him he’ll take him on anytime. The fact that he wants to do Quiz Bowl with (against) him, is practically Sports Anime confession. “I won’t wait for you, Git Gud” “Okay I will Git Gud so we can fight again” *Fist Bump* What are you guys doing.

It might just be the art style but there is a copious amount of blushing happening every time the two interact. Also that height difference!! Mikuriya is 172 while Koshiyama is 153, I fucking love it.

Uhhhh that’s about it. I would like to gush more but there’s only a few chapters of the manga that’s been fan translated and it’s not even half of what’s actually out there. (I think the manga is complete by now?) There’s only one anime season of the series, and I doubt there’s going to be more so RIP me.

In Denial

Sometimes I just want everyone to be happy and alive, so here is my headcanons for if Tom Riddle never existed.

~James and Lily never have to fight in a war, so James becomes a professional quidditch player and he became the longest reining Captain before he quit, bought the club and became the manager for it, as well as the coach for the players. Lily becomes a healer at St. Mungo’s and was able to invent a cure for dragon pox. When James’ parents died as a result of the disease she worked tirelessly researching it and came up with and affective cure. She has a portrait hanging in the hospital and after a long day sometimes has conversations with it (it the only way she can have a decent conversation in her current state). James teases her about it a lot.

~They get pregnant at a later age, because their relationship doesn’t move as fast since there is the lack of war pressure and not knowing what will happen to them. Same goes for the Weasleys and Andromeda so they all have their children later. (Canonly Molly and Arthur got married quicker because of war) And I’m just going to say that the Grangers had fertility problems, so had Hermione later. (this way the ages and relationships stay the same)

~After Harry they have three more children; Grace Iris Mia Potter, Sophie Lily Potter and Danial Charles Monty Potter. (In that order) (Iris and Charles are Lily’s parents names and Mia and Monty are shortened from Euphemia and Fleamont). Remus becomes Godfather to Grace, Peter (since he couldn’t betray them) becomes Godfather to Sophie, and Marlene becomes Godmother to Danial. Grace is two years younger than Harry (the year bellow Ginny), Sophie is one year bellow her and Danial is two years bellow that.

~They don’t see Dudley or their actual Aunt and Uncle often, they tend to meet up to have a tense cup of tea once a year. The Potter’s always send them birthday and Christmas gifts but the Dursley’s never do. They hardly heat from them until Dudley reaches out saying that he thinks his child is magical. James laughs a lot at this and more specifically the looks on Petunia’s and Vernon’s faces. They do agree to help him and his family understand.

~When McGonagall becomes Headmistress, the sorting becomes more based on personality and not character and bloodline. Thus ending the prejudice towards the houses. This is the thing that she brings to Hogwarts like the other Heads have done before her. (Dumbledore's was giving people, like Remus, chances) However this is before Minnie’s time so they are all in Griffindor. She becomes Headmistress in Harrys 6th year when Dumbledore leaves to retire in a tropical country, there is no imminent threat so why should he stay at school? His only problem is that sometimes it’s too hot to wear socks.

~Grace works for the ministry and falls in love with a guy who went to Durmstrang but now works in England, named Eric Luka. They end up having a daughter together, Scarlett Luka. Although when Scarlett is a year old, he walks out on them. Grace becomes a single mum for four years before her co-worker Aiden Murphey asks her out. They had always been friends as he had been a year above her at school, although he was in Ravenclaw. They get married and Scarlett changes her name to Luka-Murphy. They have three children together Liam, then a year later Finn and a year after that they have Owen.

~Sophie become a wizard robe designer and manages to bring some more modern and muggle aspects to the wizarding world. She starts her own clothing brand and falls for some one in Danial’s year. Zoe Phillips, they get married but don’t have any kids. They are perfectly content with spoiling their nieces and nephews.

~Danial is the perfect child of the family and people try to not like him because of it, but end up giving in because he is so nice. He is an architect for the wizarding world and marries a Hufflepuff in his year called Audrey, she is also an architect. Again they are the perfect couple that is so sickening but you can’t help liking them. They have two daughters, Emily and Olivia, who is four years younger.

~Wolfstar is a thing (as it always has been), they are together up until Harry’s 7th year. They are facing difficult struggles and are always shouting at each other, even though they still love each other. They decide to take a break and they each are set up on dates. Sirius with some guy and Remus with Tonks. On this date Remus gets very drunk because he misses Sirius and they sleep together.

~ A week later they promise to be better and stop their break. Although after three months, Tonks contacts Remus to tell him that she is pregnant, and it is his decision whether he wants to be part of it or not. Remus has his freak out about whether the baby will be like him and what Sirius will say.

~Sirius understands what has happened and doesn’t blame Remus because they were on a break, but is upset that he was with someone else. After a talk with James, Sirius feels better and is by Remus’ side the whole way and becomes excited for a baby when Remus calls Tonks to say that he wants to be a part of it (secretly he had always been jealous about the way his nieces and nephews look at James and Lily). Tonks knows how in love the boys are.

~Wolfstar begins to miss out on baby stuff and Sirius complains that its not how its meant to be when the kid arrives, so Tonks come to live with them. Tonks love the arrangement because she doesn’t have to be alone and the boys dote on her and the baby once he arrives. James becomes a Godfather. They continue living together until Teddy a bit after Teddy turns one. Tonks moves to London to be closer to her work and they co-parent using floo network all the time. Sirius normally watches him during the day since he is a wizarding writer and Remus is a professor at Hogwarts (floo’s into work) and Tonks is an auror.

~Harry and Ron become Friends with Hermione when they save her from trouble with Filch for being out after bed (she was in the Library for too long). They help her with the invisibility cloak and she lies for them when McGonagall reveals them from under the cloak when she stepped on the end of it.

~Neville has a happy childhood and is coated in his parents love, by the time he gets to school he is much more confident. He still takes a toad but his parents gave him an owl. Alice and Frank support all of his choices and are proud of every accomplishment he makes, even if his Grandmother says that it’s a waste of their time and effort. He and Harry are close friends from a very young age because of their parents, although they never really were best friends. When they went to Hogwarts and Harry went off with Ron they still looked out for each other and laughed together.

~Ron and Hermione (Ginny when they got older) came over to the Potter’s for some of the holidays, like they would go to the Weasleys for some before parting for a week before September 1st for “family time” and so their parents could see them off. Because of this Sirius and Remus become close with Ron and Hermione, so when Mrs. Weasley hosts a party (when Teddy is around three) they are invited too as part of the Potter family. Tonks comes along too as a family outing with Teddy. Teddy and Victorie hit it off and begged their parents to have play together more. Tonks sees Charlie at the party and starts talking to him as they were in the same year at school, though in different houses. He introduces her to his friend who works with him and is recently moving to London to lead the organization for dragon well-fair in England, protesting to let the Gringotts dragons free. In short Tonks and the person get together. (still unsure on what her partner identifies as but they are from a Greek pure-blood family with the surname Samaras).

~Charlie never marries or truly settles down but treats his dragons like children and is the best uncle ever.

~Bill comes to England not because of war but because he accidentally got promoted and had to move back. Him and Fleur still get married quickly, and have Victorie a year after that, Dominique come after two years and Louis three years after that. They pretty much lead the same lives other than the fact that their wedding isn’t crashed by Death Eaters and Fleur insists they have it in France (since they don’t have to stay in England for it)

~Hemione and Ron get together in 7th year in a similar sort of way. Ron is caught by Hermione tell off some kids for playing pranks on the house elves and teaches they about their history and situation. She can’t help herself, so she snogs him in the deserted corridor after the kids have gone.

~Ginny and Harry break up after his 7th year, she wanted more independence especially since this was her last year and the only year attending the school without her family there. Harry was also going to auror training and starting his own path in the world and wanted to experience being by himself in the world, with new responsibilities. They both date a few people whilst broken up and remain close friends, they were each other’s firsts (Harry’s 7th year) but were with other people too. After four years, Ginny made the Harpies first team and one the match for them. Like before, Harry and her ended up kissing in front of the entire stadium, they have been together ever since.

~ Ron and Harry both became aurors but shortly after Remus retires (he was getting more tiered after the full moons with his age and Sirius’ book became a best selling novel in the muggle and wizarding world so he could support them comfortably), he became the DADA professor. After joining the aurors he never felt like it was a good choice for him and didn’t know what he wanted to do, so he just stuck it out. That was until Remus mentioned he was retiring early and that they were struggling to find a competent professor.

~Ginny does take maternity leave with each of her children (Jake, Samuel and Lyra - because no one is dead) but still play for the harpies until she is forced to retire. After retiring she writes sports articles for both the Prophet and the Quibbler, becoming chief editor of both. Harry is able to take care of the kids whilst she is away, with the help of a nanny. They both couldn’t see a reason to put either of their careers on hold.

~Ron revolutionized the strategies that were used and as a result far less people were harmed and more people joined the force. He still took a 7 year break to be a stay at home dad whilst Hermione was being a boss, but practically worked part time since everyone respected his opinion and always asked for his advice (he got paid half time wages because of this). When Rose and Hugo both went to a muggle primary school, Ron worked for them officially again, but because of all the work he had done he rose quickly through the ranks and when the old head of the aurors retired, he became head of the department.

~Fred didn’t die so him and Angelina became a permanent couple (they never wanted to or could be bothered with getting married). They always had an on and off thing since the Yule Ball, they were the only people that they ever were in love with, despite their previous inconsistency. They only had one kid together. Joseph Weasley. Fred wanted him to have a sibling like he had but Angelina only ever wanted one and he had many cousins, George had his second kid at the same time and the boys were practically twins. (Fred II is renamed to Luke Weasley, since Fred didn’t die)

~George married Katie Bell after running into her at Diagon Ally whilst locking up the shop (Fred was out with Angelina that night). They agreed to catch up and it resulted in them having an amazing time, which ended with Katie giving George her contact details. They got pregnant with Roxanne just after George had proposed, so the wedding was preponed until she was there. Unfortunately Katie got pregnant again with Luke just when they started planning the wedding. two years later they finally got married and their children walked down the isle (it was the cutest thing, Molly was weeping).

~Percy and Oliver fall in love ( how do you expect two guys that are the definition of opposites attract share a room for 7 years and have nothing happen) Oliver stops Percy from being a complete prat as there is no ministry fall out with his family to get him to that point. Oliver makes him realize that his family are the greatest gift, especially with all their flaws. They have a small ceremony with only family and close friends and adopt a little witch naming her after Molly, three years later they adopt another witch and name her Lucy.

~Snape and Lily still fall out with him calling her a mudblood, just because there wasn’t an group to kill those like her doesn’t mean he didn’t hang around with prejudice people and have those views. He still become potions professor when Slughorn retires. Though occasionally he will get howlers from the Potter’s and Longbottom's shouting at him for his behavior towards his students along with some howlers from Marlene and Dorcas, Emmeline, Mary, Sirius and Peter with use of his old nicknames they had for him. (because how dare he disrespect their friends kids)

~Peter still is friends with the marauders, but he moves away from them and distances himself every year to the point where they only write to each other to celebrate special occasions. He never finds a partner or has children but does become a pub manager and lives comfortably.

~Draco and the Golden trio make their peace at the end of 7th year. They never become friends, they just forgive each other ( for the most part, him calling Hermione a mudblood is not forgiven). They act civilly towards one another, especially when Scorpius and Samuel announce that they are dating. They learn to tolerate but nothing more.

• Macao and Wakaba - those teachers who get into more trouble than their students, pals, actually good teachers

• Gildarts Clive - that one alumn who came back to be a teacher, Cana’s dad, let’s her throw parties but keeps a close eye on the kids, Cana’s friends are his surrogate kids, let’s the Strauss kids sleep over whenever

• Bisca and Alzack - teacher ship, super chill, will throw paper at you if you fall asleep, love teaching, doting parents

• Makarov “Gramps” Dreyar - current headmaster, exasperated but indulgent, loves every student, hype man at sports events

• Mavis Vermillion - founder of Fairy Tail Academy, her portrait is in the hallway, people still say she watches over her fairies

• Gratsu - it took them forever to get together due to the ‘rivalry’. Erza finally got tired of the pining and set them up. They go to each other’s games.

• Lucana - no one expected sunshiny Lucy to date “the witch”. They’re so cute tho. Cana can sense when Lucy gets anxious. Lucy is very protective of her girlfriend

• Erzajane - Volleyball baes, Fairy Tail High’s power couple, they support each other, got into the same college and are trying to stay together, everyone’s mom friends

• Chendy - they met at a track meet, puppy love at first sight, friends first, cheer each other on even though they’re on rival teams

• Livia - Lisanna convinces the cheerleaders to go to swim meets. Lisanna loves watching Juvia swim and Juvia loves visiting Lisanna at the shelter, cutest couple™️

•Gajevy - classic bad boy x nerd girl ship. Except Levy is super badass and Gajeel is ultra dorky. They make each other better

• Fraxus - supportive boyfriends, have been together since forever, Makarov ships it. After a player on another team makes a homophobic comment, Laxus goes into the middle of the field and proclaims his undying love for Freed.

The Losers Club + Singing

Warnings: Swearing (shocker), very brief mentions of Bev’s asshole father being an asshole, light homophobia and racism

Author’s Note: This got real long so I’m just going to put it under the cut (like usual) but I really enjoyed writing this! I’m working on part 4 of YWISC, I promise, but until then, take these peace offering headcanons. *shoves this post towards you and runs*

🎶 ben 🎶

ben only sings if he’s 100% certain he’s alone

he won’t even sing in front of his mother, that’s how embarrassed he is

one time, bev caught him singing new kids on the block and he was red for a solid 20 minutes

she subtly drops hints around the other losers for a while just to see how red ben could get

his voice is decent, but there are songs he can totally nail if he tries and it sounds amazing

when he was little he was in his church’s children’s choir

he secretly wants to be able to serenade bev like in all the musicals his aunt is so fond of

he was dared once to sing karaoke at the restaurant the losers went to

he absolutely refused to go onto the stage alone

so mike went with him and didn’t take it seriously

ben thought it was hilarious so he went along with it and just sang

when he gets his own car at the end of sophomore year, he turns up the music he listens to as loud as it can go while he sings

only if he’s alone, of course

when he’s with his friends, he lets them pick so he doesn’t have to hear the comments about his music tastes

he likes to sing in different languages because it presents a challenge and he wants to be fluent in a ton of different language

like honestly, he gets super into k-pop when it becomes popular

but his favorite languages to sing in are italian and french because they sound pretty (romance languages ya know)

when he gets into a new band, he gets into a new band and learns literally every word to every song even if it’s not his favorite

bev can’t sing for shit but that doesn’t stop her

the boys: please stop, i beg of you

bev: la la la i can’t fucking hear you

however ~however~ she can rap like nobody’s business

when hamilton comes out, she knows that shit better than lin-manuel miranda himself

she can do the entirety of guns and ships in her sleep

when her and richie go smoking, they open all the doors of richie’s car and turn up their music full blast

they scream all the lyrics and dissolve into fits of giggles

bev is actually a little self-conscious about her voice

her father always made her sing with him when she was little

and he would say shit like “mmm could be better” or “wow that was awful”

it actually hurts a little when the boys make fun of her but they always reassure her they’re joking

when she goes to concerts, she all but screams the words to the songs and the people around her are doing the same thing so she feels right at home

beverly fucking marsh, ladies and gents, gets up on stage during the high school talent show with one of the choirs every single year and raps while they sing

everyone looks forward to it

freshman year, she did the rap parts of Magic

sophomore year, she did the rap parts of Stereo Hearts

junior year, she did the whole song from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

senior year, she did the rap parts of Alexander Hamilton

when she graduates from college with her education degree, the first teaching job she gets, she helps her kids learn the material through rap

all the kids love her because she makes learning fun and easy to remember

when she and ben go to homecoming together their junior year, she sings softly under her breath to one of the slow songs

and she’s actually trying

like she practiced

and ben is beyond impressed

“wow, bev, that’s beautiful”

and she blushes but won’t say anything

at the graduation party, she and the losers have, she gets a little tipsy after the adults leave and sings the highest, loudest song she can

it sounds phenomenal

the guys are flabbergasted

richie: we should get you drunk more often, bevvie. you could win tv show contests with that voice.

bev: shut the fuck up, trashmouth.

when she has her first kid, she takes three vocal lessons so she can sing lullabies to them

because she wants them to her voice

she gets super sappy when the baby smiles after she sings

she may or may not have cried

how does one describe the singing voice william “big bill” denbrough

the answer is: you can’t, you tried, you failed

when he sings, he shouts

like there is very little musicality when he tries to sing

he gives bev a run for her money when they go to concerts

he’s the type of person who, because he is a writer, writes his own songs

and they’re really good, but he can’t sing them correctly

when georgie was little, he would always want bill to sing him to sleep at night and his parents don’t get it because bill’s voice isn’t soothing or sleep-inducing in any way

at church, his parents have to quiet him down because the picky old ladies look scandalized he’s singing so loudly during mass

georgie just grabs his hand and sings loudly with him bc big brother idolization, ya know?

(he may or may not stick his tongue out at the old women when his parents aren’t looking to stick up for his brother)

he never stutters when he sings and richie thinks this helps him learn to speak without stuttering

stan starts picking up on it and will quietly sing with bill when he feels overwhelmed and can’t get his words out

bill is amazing at lip-syncing

the losers will all be listening to music and suddenly they look at bill who’s like in the zone and mouthing every word

then a cyndi lauper song comes on and if you didn’t know any better, it would seem like her voice was coming out of his mouth

it freaks mike out

bill auditions for a musical (the first and last) in college and the people listening to him are like “why is he screaming at us?” and defer him to stage crew where he finds out he can wield a nail gun like nobody’s business

he wants to privately serenade stan on one of their dates and has richie help him prep for it

richie teaches him simple chords on his guitar and lets bill borrow it for the evening, coaching him to sing softly

bill sings “i’m yours” and stan is smiling so widely his cheeks hurt but he can’t stop

“did you like it?” bill asks when he’s done, not looking up

“like it? i love it!” stan just snuggles up next to him for the rest of their date (and bill thanks richie a million times later)

when he works out, he always listens to music and can be heard trying to sing along under his breath (and failing) by all the employees and other patrons

when he leaves whistling whatever he had just been listening to, the poor woman next to him sighs in relief

🎶 eddie 🎶

eddie’s voice is unnaturally high for a boy but he loves it anyway (think mitch from pentatonix)

he joined as many school choirs as he could during middle and high school and totally was captain of the tenor 1s in his senior year

unironically calls the other tenor 1s his children

dude has the range of a opera singer

it’s more comfortable to sing in the higher end of his range but he can do the equivalent of a singing death drop and slide all the way from a b5 to a g3

always gets the solos when competing because he has such an impressive range

starts an a cappella group his freshman year of high school and convinces stan to join (we’ll talk more about that later)

they get so good, they start to do travel competitions

it’s probably the most diverse group at derry high because literally everyone that has a good voice is welcome to audition

a kid named taylor helps eddie arrange music and choreography even though they’re in a wheelchair

sings duets with his mom in the car because it’s the only time that they seem to get along without arguing

their go-to song is “halo” by beyonce

eddie’s mom is so highkey proud of her son and his abilities that most of the time she’ll just sit back and listen while one of them is driving until eddie says “ it’s supposed to be a duet, mom”

loves to vibrato it up because he’s super dramatic when he sings literally anything

he gets teased because singing and dancing in organized choirs is “gay” according to the bowers gang

ok one time, bowers made fun of him and the rest of the tenors and eddie just straight up decked him before calmly getting on the bus to go wherever they were competing

the tenors (and the bases) were like “shit dude you okay?”

and eddie says “no one makes fun of my kids” while shaking out his hand

and the tenors kind of crowd around him for a hug because they love their mom captain

he sings the national anthem a lot at high school games but one time, he was invited to sing it at a red sox game in boston and he freaked out

richie: you’ve sung this shit like a million times. all that’s changed is the number of people listening to your beautiful voice. now go out there and make hot baseball players fall in love with you.

eddie: *blushing* shut the fuck up.

sings lullabies to literally everyone and it soothes them so much

richie is falling asleep on his lap? lullaby

he has all the girls (and some guys- mostly richie) salivating after him when he sings once at a high school talent show

can harmonize with anything like a song will just be on the radio and he’ll drop in a perfect lower harmony that just works

cantors at mass on sundays sometimes and usually sings with the choir

he has a real knack for the baptist religious music and his voice is just perfect for it

his college did a production of “the drowsy chaperone” (A/N: great show) and when he tried out in a spur of the moment decision, he got the part of george

he killed it

also, he learned a tap number with the actor who played robert and the losers were thoroughly impressed

ben: i didn’t know he could move like that

bev: *shouting* that’s my son!

stan: *mortified* shh!

when mike becomes the derry librarian, he starts a story time for the little kids and when there’s music in the books, he’ll sing

a little girl only comes on days when he sings and that amuses him to no end

he plays classical music through the loudspeakers when he closes up the library because it gets lonely, you know, and tries to sing all the instrumental parts with his voice

he does the best with cello parts

one time, someone came in late and he didn’t even realize it and they started to clap

he now locks the door before he starts to clean up

LOVES karaoke and always drags his friends to bars and forces them to sing with him

tries out once for a really prestigious travel choir who do lots of shows in europe because they were looking for a bass

the snooty old man in charge of auditioning says “we don’t take your kind here”

and stan is livid when mike tells him about it

stan: hypothetically, if you told me their names and i went to their houses, what would happen if i killed them?

richie: jesus, stanny, remind me not to get on your bad side.

sings with eddie at ben and bev’s wedding and makes them cry tears of joy while they’re doing their first dance

mike’s twin daughters maisie and charlotte clearly have the same vocal skills as their dad and they sing together while they get ready for school

mike’s wife, louisa, has plenty of videos on her phone of them trying to sing around their toothbrushes

🎶 richie 🎶

richie tozier, my friends, is a wonder when it comes to singing

typically, he doesn’t try too hard and goofs off with silly songs

sings shit like “never gonna give you up” and “barbie girl” unironically

stan is neverendingly exhausted by it

stan: anything but blue again, please

when he applies himself, he drives people wild with his raspy, amazing voice

and by people, i mean eddie

he taught himself to play guitar when he was 12 and then when nobody would sing with him, he did it himself

in a stroke of bad decision making on the school faculty’s part, they allowed him to be the announcer at a football game and he sings all the announcements- all of them

richie: *singing* number 27 (bill) looking feisty tonight

richie: *still singing* when will the quarterback (mike) love me?

principal: that is quite enough

richie: *singing some more* you can’t do that (whole stadium claps)

every once in a while (quite often) when richie stayed over at the denbroughs, georgie would ask him to sing with his brother so that his lullaby could be a duet

for just a year and one year only, richie is in eddie’s a cappella group

he gets lovingly kicked out because he distracts not only eddie but a lot of the others in the group because he’s a really great singer when he tries

but he helped make a killer arrangement of feel again that they still use to compete even after eddie graduates

is actually very knowledgeable about music theory because it was always part of the youtube videos he watched when he was learning guitar

richie: you know, i think this would sound better with a major third chord instead of this minor seventh

mike: what

richie: what

mike: i have no damn idea what you just said

joins a band as lead singer and guitarist when he gets to college and gets really popular locally because of his “just got out of someone else’s bed” voice

you know those songs bill writes? yeah half of them are with help from richie

they start a youtube channel anonymously and sing them as duets with richie’s soft guitar music (think jem and the holograms)

they have a really niche cult following, some of whom try to figure out who they are, but mostly just to enjoy the music

georgie claims it’s his influence from lullaby time when he was younger (and the boys humor him)

🎶 stan 🎶

woo boy, where to even begin with stan?

he never sings in public and the times that he does sing are so few and far between it’s like a cryptid sighting

bev: i once heard stan singing in the shower after we all went swimming in the quarry

the rest of the losers: bullSHIT

but ~buuuuuUUuUUUtttt~ this boy has the voice of a god and he uses it like a weapon

stan: *doesn’t want to do something*

stan: *singing* billy, you know how much i love you right?

bill: *totally taken aback* not fair

he once sang in the talent show because it was his senior year (and he lost a bet to richie)

he decided to sing a sappy love song that was popular and the whole auditorium was so stunned it took them a full thirty seconds to give him a standing ovation once he finished

this boy is the only person in the losers club who can do any p!atd song, like any of them, and do an accurate impression of brenden urie

it’s a little scary how close their voices sound

his mother teaches him the hebrew prayers they sing during shabbat and sometimes the losers will catch him singing them when he’s not paying attention

he got tipsy once while he was out with bev and eddie and sang a super raunchy song on stage during a karaoke night and totally crushed the hell out of it

nobody believes that this happened

not even stan supposedly

bev and eddie: i swear on my life

mike: over my dead body did this happen

ben: yeah no way

stan: *winks at bev and eddie*

when he and bill move in together, stan will sing to bill when he thinks bill is asleep

stan will run his fingers through bill’s hair and sing something like blackbird and bill is just... goosebumps everywhere

stan sometimes knows bill is awake by the way his breathing hitches and keeps going because bill is the only person he trusts to be totally unafraid in front of

he can hit high notes like nobody’s business but only if he’s taken a shot of hard liquor recently

at the graduation party, he and eddie got into a high-note-off

a video exists somewhere on ben’s phone of the two just going at it

richie can be heard in the background just losing his fucking mind

stan never accepts solos when he’s part of eddie’s a cappella group and nobody understand why (again voice of a god)

there was a competition when eddie was getting over laryngitis and the only person who knew his solos were (drum roll, please) stan!

needless to say, they blew the judges away and won first place

OKAY THIS IS THE ONE THAT GOT DELETED YESTERDAY LET’S TRY IT AGAIN

Neutral:

Kana - Kana doesn’t really care much for playing sports. They’d much rather just watch. Unless you’re talking about REAL sports like Duck Duck Dragon or Hide and Go Seek, in which case, they are the uncontested best at sports like those!

Midori - She doesn’t really care much for sports either, she’s much more into sports medicine! Although she currently holds the archery record! She much prefers to follow people around and tend to their wounds, especially people who always get injured *cough* SOPHIE SHIRO SOLEIL *cough* Speaking of which...

Sophie - Sophie is really good at, well, horseback riding! No one in Hoshido rides horses, and Forrest just isn’t much of a challenge in that regard. Siegbert, while competent, isn’t much of a challenge either. So she does cross country! She loves running and she’s got great stamina. She also does gymnastics! She’s really flexible and good at most events! She is also a certain reckless knucklehead’s coach in boxing, which is where most of her injuries come from.

Dwyer - Dwyer doesn’t play sports. He’s just there to bring tea to people post-match and to give them advice to do better. It’s too much work for him. With that being said, half the reason is that he’s just too good at every sport. Tennis, basketball, soccer, judo, diving, aikido, he’s just good at everything. He wants to give the others a chance. So he sticks to darts.

Shigure - I mean, is it any surprise he does swimming? He loves the water so much, not to mention his singing gives him ridiculous tidal volume and breath control, he’s practically a master of the water. His diving isn’t that good, and his speed isn’t the best, but his mastery of his body and flow in water is the toppest of notches.

Hoshido

Shiro - One boxing boy, coming right up! Shiro is the resident boxing buff and buff boxer of the army. He loves it. He doesn’t have the best defenses though, and he’s stiff as a board, which is where Sophie comes in! She’s his trainer, helping him master his range of motion and get better at defending! She’s got a mean left hook! Midori patches them both up, scolding them about being more careful.“If you’re more flexible, Shiro, you can do all sorts of neat punches! Why, I bet you could dislocate your shoulder to extend the range of your punch! Like...Zoom! A Zoom Punch!”“Sophie, please don’t tell him to do that.”

Kiragi - With his eagle eyes, there’s only one kind of sport for him...Hide and Seek with Kana! Oh and he’s the best skeet shooter. Moving targets are kind of his specialty.

Asugi - Rock climbing! He’s really agile and dexterous, so rock climbing is a bit of a no-brainer for him. He’d much rather be doing anything else, but he might as well mix in his ninja training with a sport if he has to do a sport, so he doesn’t mind too much. He’ll kinda get up there really fast and just sit on top of the wall, eating candy until everyone else gets up. “What took ya so long?”

Mitama - She plays soccer! She doesn’t like exercising too much, she’d much rather be doing...basically anything else. So she’ll set up shop in the goal and wait for the ball to come her way and effortlessly block it. She’s never let a goal go by, and she uses the rest of her free time just to write haiku about the fresh open air and smell of grass, waiting for the next ball to come her way.

Hisame - Is it any surprise that Hisame does kendo? An ancient Hoshidan sport of swordplay, he is nearly unrivaled. He goes in and just sweeps up every tournament. His footwork is unparalleled, but his real edge is that he’ll just think of his enemies like pickles, in need of dicing and slicing.

Caeldori - She, much like Dwyer, excels at basically every sport. She headlines as the army’s best diver, and people love watching her incredible form, but her real passion is actually karate! She’s pretty much unmatched, taking out most challengers without a scratch on her! She wears a mask though so people don’t know it’s her! She fought in an MMA tournament once and won the whole thing, beating Shiro in the final round! He actually managed to get a few good hits in, but she knocked him out in one clean hit. It’s why he’s in defense training right now!

Selkie - She does decathlons! She’s really good at the long jump especially! Not beacuse she can jump overly far (even though she totally can) but more because she’s able to gather up so much speed compared to the distance she starts out with! She’s got it on lock!

Rhajat - She dances competitively. But she doesn’t tell anyone. She just says she doesn’t play sports. But she does lyrical, tap, ballet, breakdancing, waltz, even cheer and Hoshidan ribbon dancing. The only people who know are Azura and Laslow, who she’s asked to coach them. Oh and Hayato. She never told him, but he’s known ever since she was little that she had a passion for dancing. He slips charms into whatever dance shoes she wears that day. They’re not for cheating or anything, they just help her get over her crippling stage fright. He’s secretly there cheering her on all the time.

Nohr

Siegbert - Siegbert is the worst best golfer you’ll ever meet. He’s incredible with his drives, often just getting holes in one. But his putting is atrocious. Either he sinks it in one from a hundred yards away, or he struggles to putt from 2 feet away for 300 strokes. Eventually, he decided if he doesn’t get a hole in one, to just knock it away another 100 yards and try from there. He also plays jai alai, and tchoukball!

Forrest - Field hockey! He loves the fresh smell of grass and the battle on the field, but he’s a bit of a clean freak. Thanks to Midori though, he has a new potion that removes all grass stains, so he can really get down and dirty. He’s a surprisingly strong player.

Soleil - She fences! She just hoped that it would make her a better dancer by forcing her to improve her footwork but it doesn’t translate out of the match sadly. With that said, she’s a MONSTER in the arena. She footwork and swordplay are only matched by how much fun she’s having! She loves the thrill of the fight, and win or lose, she’s always got a smile in the end. Every opponent ends up her friend somehow. Also, whenever she takes off her helmet, she does that stereotypical post-helmet-removal-slow-motion hair flip that you see in cartoons. People swoon. She has a fan-club~

Ophelia - She plays tennis! And she’s really good at it! She names all her “attacks” too. “Dead Man’s Volley!” “Die Die Tennis Barrage!” “Shooting Star Arrow!” She lives for long rallies on deuces, and relishes in the victory of her advantage if she gets one.

Nina - She’s a sports journalist! She goes around writing reports on sports, although she does get a bit lost in her thoughts at times. She doesn’t play very often, simply because she enjoys other forms of athletic activity, but she never lets on what she means...She LARPs. But she will kill anyone who finds out. She also bowls a pretty mean game, 300s left and right.

Percy- Percy plays basketball! He lacks the jump height to dunk considering his size, and his lay-ups are okay, 50/50. But they call him the Full Court Miracle. Any shot beyond the three point line just...lands clean. He’s got so much raw talent, but he still practices! He’s good at stealing the ball too~

Velouria - She wrestles! Her pins and grapples are pretty top-notch! She grew up play-wrestling with her dad all the time, and so he would show her how to actually wrestle when she got bigger, to help catch prey. Eventually she took it on competitively, and won multiple awards!

Ignatius - Ignatius plays American Football! He might be cowardly and he hates getting hurt, but he hates seeing his friends get hurt even more. He plays center, and he’s a regular Ryokan Kurita, that boy. Always protecting his QB no matter what. He’s strong enough to hold the line by himself if need be.

I feel like you'd have absolutely excellent D&D characters because your imagination is great.

I actually struggle a lot with making D&D characters, in fact I think I’ve only ever made one character specifically for D&D

my brain just can’t create a character out of nothing, I need something - a setting, a plot, even just a line will work - to create them off of (though I will specify that numbers, like character stats, are not something I can create a character off of)

so usually I take pre-existing characters of mine and convert them into D&D characters and then they often grow into separate entities from the originals

but I am good at role-playing and I have some D&D characters who became very loved by my fellow players

my brother has actually said he likes to have me in his campaigns because while I’m not good at the numbers and stats and all that I’m one of the best role-players he’s dmed and most of the other people he dms are better at the numbers and stuff than the role-playing so I’m usually there to even it out and keep things interesting

anyway, now that I’ve got the humility out of the way I’m gonna take this as an opportunity to rave about my favorite D&D characters I’ve had over the years

Inigo - everyone’s favorite gnome

a gnome fighter, the original Inigo - a mercenary in a book I might never publish - was created to be a mix of Inigo Montoya(Princess Bride), Puss in Boots(Shrek), and Reepicheep(Chronicles of Narnia), and boy did that come out well in role-playing

he infuriated the other characters with his sort-of catchphrase “we are brothers of heart, and soul, and mind!”, but also was the first person his friend and adventuring companion Zephyr went to about a crush on one of the girls who helped them(Inigo’s advice was “whatever you do, be yourself” cause he’s a huge romantic who believes if someone doesn’t love you for you then they aren’t The One)

one of the funnest characters to role-play and apparently everyone else’s favorite of my role-playing characters

Damian - my first good D&D character

originally the wise and mysterious cleric in a superhero team styled after rp adventuring groups he went through a couple variations before my first ever D&D campaign, which he was my second character in after my first ran off with my brother’s rogue’s dead body(I’ll explain later)

a noble’s son who was essentially forced to be a cloister cleric, Damian literally snuck away to adventure, and was somehow the most prepared in his party despite 1) it being his first ever adventure and 2) him being like 16 and having lived in a library/church/thing practically his whole life

he was also incredibly shy and fairly socially awkward but a very good ally once I found out I could just hold an action during fights to heal my party members the moment they got hurt

that campaign was the campaign of lucky rolls, like when he got hit in the arm by an arrow and I said he’d just pull it out and heal himself and the dm made me roll for it - I got a 20(imagine little book nerd 16 year-old pretty-boy literally pulling an arrow out of his arm without wincing and just healing it and moving on) - or when we walked in on a group of goblins burning books and I rolled a 20 on attack and one-shot one of them with a freaking throwing dart(never let a book-nerd cloister cleric see you burning books)

also he knew more about the campaign than our bard did with bardic knowledge(she knew we were looking for these fruit and she knew what they were called, Damian knew the exact conditions they needed to grow and why they were called what they were called and some other things I’ve forgotten)

Drew Quinn - Doctor Scratch-n-sniff

my first ever D&D character, he’s not a favorite but he is a good example of my loyalty to character in role-play

he was a doctor from a secluded village who left to find a cure to a deadly illness and kinda lost his morals along the way, since his village was purely humans(with some distant dragon ancestry that was relevant to the campaign but never revealed cause he took off with the rogue’s body) he had never seen any of the other D&D races before leaving so he joined the party for the sole purpose of studying their anatomy(especially those of the gnome and halfling - adult anatomy in such small bodies??)

so when they got into fights he would just stand to the side and take notes and only step in if it looked like they’d get too disfigured for studying. the one time he did step in he ended the fight with like two/three sentences. and then when the halfling rogue got killed by rats Drew decided the body was more valuable than following the rest of the party wherever they went and took off with it to study

Laea - The Barbarian

the first incarnation of Laea was 9/10 years ago - she was a gang member in a story about a gang of teens who discover they’re all secretly gods. the second was in a role-play game me and my brother did before we started D&D, roughly 6/7 years ago, in which her personality was established in the very first scene when she punched one of the other characters right after waking up and yelled ‘pervert!’

her other most iconic moment was yelling “pansy little wizard boy” when the party wizard went invisible when the party all first met

a druid barbarian who’s only actual weapon was a spiked gauntlet(her other weapons consisted of a crowbar, a chain, and a battering ram) and who’s more likely to punch her allies than to actually fight(mostly cause I started getting bad anxiety around her finally becoming a D&D character and relying on dice is very hard) she was another favorite of my friends’

Buttercup - Secret B.A.?

Buttercup was introduced as a kind, friendly, cheerful bard who always used Inspire Confidence or Inspire Competence(through dancing) instead of fighting

then almost one-shot a boss with a circlet of blasting(after pretending to not know what it does)

(she had the best stats in the party)

Darkness - Buttercup’s dorky older brother

the only awesome moment of his I can remember rn is when he successfully hid behind the invisible ninja

Stefon - the very angry captain

originally a quiet military strategist from an old story I considered making into a comic, he somehow morphed into the most done character I have ever played, and a captain of a scavenger(?maybe smugglers?) airship

then again his crew were kinda useless. he spent most of the campaign telling them how not to mess up only for them to do exactly what he told them not to do

Antonio - the other kick-butt book nerd

a member of The Fools Guild, the entire first session all I did was show gifs of Legolas making disapproving faces anytime Antonio was supposed to react to something, or I said “he continues reading”

so he was a bit of a background character to the rest of the party

until he threw his book at a bugbear. and then pulled out another book and went back to reading

but then when the party were attacked by soldiers shortly after defeating the bugbears he was literally the only one to actually kill anyone. with the crossbow the fighter had left in the cart. it was a one-shot kill

he went back to reading as they ran away and returned to not doing much until the party had to compete in a tournament to win some magic object or something

he was paired with the party artist(sorceress, but she refused to admit that) in the 2 on 2 fights. first fight he won with just his books. second he won with the daggers hidden in his books. each fight he brought out another weapon he’d somehow hidden on his person and each fight his teammate only got like one hit in before he beat the opponents. he quickly became the tourney favorite(it didn’t hurt that the gay orc couple who were doing the announcing and commentating thought he was really cute)

Slythus - the ancient weapon of mass destruction

an old character who’s gonna be in my Eternity comic, I used him for a space-age villain campaign

possibly the only time I’ve ever had him flirt with anyone ever, at all

there were lots of fun shenanigans in that campaign but there was a Main Player Character who the campaign revolved around and it was pretty obvious so his only great memorable moment was when one of the party members said “we’d need an ancient weapon of mass destruction” and he responded “I am an ancient weapon of mass destruction!”

Mane - the one made for D&D character

orc barbarian who acted more like a monk than the actual party - his introduction was stopping a barfight cause he may be a barbarian but he doesn’t like fights

best moment: when the other party members had all failed to get this locked door open and told him “it’s all yours” and so he just ripped it off it’s hinges and carried it around on his back the rest of the campaign, I think he used it as a shield at some point

he also kept an empty treasure chest they’d found cause he cared more about having a treasure chest than the treasure

sorry for the super long response, as a writer, D&D player, and lifelong role-player I’m very passionate about my characters

FFXV Characters playing World of Warcraft Part 2/3 Headcanons

It’s time for the second part! This one is about Lunafreya, Ardyn, Nyx and Aranea. Enjoy!

Lunafreya Nox Fleuret Priest | Holy

Luna is always excited to heal any dungeon, raid or battleground she is offered. People just have to make sure Noctis isn’t in the same party.

Because her main focus will always be Noctis.

You won’t get those heals out of her, if you’re not Noctis.

Gladio and Ravus are both openly annoyed because of her focus.

Because Noctis ends up taking a lot of damage thanks to his laziness, Luna spends more time playing as Spirit of Redemption.

She doesn’t have time to pay attention to what is going on around her.

And all of Nyx’s combat resurrections go to Luna.

She really needs to spam heal Noctis and her Guardian Spirit is constantly on cooldown.

Lunafreya likes collecting battle pets, but she won’t actually battle with them. They are just her pets and follow her character around.

Sometimes Ardyn takes her as his personal pocket healer and carries her around in the Arena.

She secretly enjoys it.

Luna also tried the discipline specialization, but she prefers being a holy priest.

She is really into transmogging and her characters are usually the most fashionable in their guild.

Luna often joins Nyx and Crowe on their trips to older raids.

Transmogging is the reason she picked up tailoring — though she hasn’t finished leveling it to the maximum yet.

Enchanting is her other profession, because she wanted to help Noctis keep his gear perfectly enchanted. For free.

Ravus wants Luna to ask at least something in return.

She won’t.

While she is waiting for her queue to take her somewhere, she’ll enjoy sitting at the city’s most holy place and admire all the details.

She will also curiously follow NPCs and read what they are chatting.

Achievements bring a great amount of joy to her.

Meaning that she will definitely hug all the squirrels around Azeroth.

“Aren’t they adorable?”

She will be using the title the Astral Walker.

Luna has an alt: Frost mage.

Her character is a female human, if she chose the Alliance side and she’ll be playing a blood elf female, if she jumped to the Horde side.

Ardyn Izunia Warlock

Ardyn is a PvP god.

He is way too good at it.

He’ll play any of the three warlock specializations, depending which one is the best at the moment.

"Destruction? Fire and chaos, how lovely! Demonology? I’d have my own army of demons? Oh yes. Affliction? Spreading those dots on everyone? Now that’d be fun..."

When he's bored, he’ll spend time camping low level players in Duskwood and the Barrens. He also loves to camp players in Stranglethorn Vale — That place is a legend.

He’ll switch sides, if one of his guildies create a new character and starts leveling it up.

Camping low levels is so much fun!

He will also camp higher levels just because he can, but low levels are more fun, when they literally logout after getting killed ten times in ten minutes.

He has been playing since vanilla and carries the title High Warlord, if his character is Horde and Grand Marshal, if he decides to play on the Alliance.

And he knows his class like the back of his hand.

He often carries people in arenas and battlegrounds.

Luna ends up being his personal pocket healer, so he can life tap endlessly.

But he will sacrifice his teammates to get those honor kills.

Because Ardyn doesn’t give a shit.

He is very wanted in the guild’s raid group, purely because he does know how to do damage and literally has mad skills.

Even when he isn’t that much into PvE.

If he decides to participate in a raid (because he’s bored), certain preparations are necessary.

He really doesn’t give a shit about tactics either.

He’s a lowkey elitist.

Ardyn has alchemy leveled up, but people are reluctant to ask for flasks or potions from him.

He may be a bit awkward and random in the guild chat.

And he is always online.

No one knows how!

Ardyn will once a week get the title Slayer of Stupid, Incompetent and Disappointing Minions.

His character would be a female human on the Alliance side and a male undead on the Horde side.

Nyx Ulric Feral | Druid

Nyx knows how to play the game.

And he is fairly good DPS.

Even when he isn’t touting himself to be part of the raid group, he is still wanted for his skills and the damage he does.

He has a knack for learning new mechanics quickly.

And he volunteers to correct others’ mistakes, or will take over when someone screws up mechanics.

He is literally the hero, even in game.

Nyx stands up for those who get bullied or picked on. He is good with words and soothes the situation with his hero-like presence.

He is often defending Luna, when Gladio and Ravus are complaining about the lack of heals.

Even when he knows that she should heal others too.

Ardyn carried Nyx in arena to help him earn his titles: Hero of the Alliance or Hero of the Horde — Depending on which faction he is playing.

Likes doing old raids with Crowe, even though he is slightly salty at her for losing some of those rare rolls.

But he actually won the Fandral’s Seed Pouch from the Firelands raid.

And he is using it all the time.

Lowkey: loves collecting toys only to annoy the shit out of Aranea during raids.

Because he will be spamming those toys.

He even chose to level up Jewelcrafting only to get the Reflecting Prism.

Imagine half of the raid suddenly looking like half-naked blood elf males.

Also enjoys doing the world quests, but hates questing in general.

His character will definitely be a female. A night elf on the Alliance and a troll on the Horde.

Aranea Highwind Frost | Death Knight

Aranea is a bit fiery person to have in a raid group.

Because if someone screws up, she will let them know.

She will literally rage in the voicecom they are using.

And if Gladio’s motivational speeches aren’t working well enough, listening to Aranea’s rage will definitely spark fire in everyone.

She can be scary sometimes and often makes Luna cry.

Better not to mess with her.

She can be quite defensive over her guildies too, like when a random player is complaining and using abusive language to mock her friends.

It will be the last time they insult her friends.

Aranea is constantly competing against Noctis in the DPS meters and that battle is always a close one.

And if she had a personal healer, she could probably wreck Noctis completely.

If a miracle happens and Noctis dies earlier in the fight, she will be taking the spot at the top of the meters.

She is always the one to face things in World of Warcraft by going in balls deep.

But she also knows a lot about loot and stats, so she has earned her rightful place in the loot council.

Noctis is slightly salty at her because of that.

She gets pissed off, because Prompto and Nyx love throwing their toys around the boss room, while Ignis is going through tactics.

She might just slightly interrupt Ignis’s tactics briefing to rage at Prompto and Nyx.

Her transmog is usually her favourite tier set for DK’s.

And it’s usually the most horrible one, at least that’s what the majority of players think.

Better not to give your opinion about her transmog out loud.

Aranea’s title is proudly Bloodsail Admiral.

Her character would be a female draenei on the Alliance side and a female orc on the Horde side.

Karasuno: Love Live Headcanons

Daichi:

best girl: Umi (likes the other cool girls too)

likes to play the game as a way to relax after a tiring day

backfires on him when it’s an Umi event and he has to tier

favourite song is Soldier Game; playing it on EX is a different story

collects scouting and blue tickets because he feels like it’s a waste to use them; prefers to do 10+1 scouts

buys some of the monthly packs on a whim

knows some of the lyrics to the songs from playing them a lot and sometimes can be found humming to himself

hates score matches the most because of the ranking system and only plays it to drain his LP

Sugawara:

best girl: You

biased towards Aqours because he was there when the group was announced and just feels more attached to them than to μ's

plays with fingers; jokingly brags to Daichi about how he can get 95% perfects

secretly has no chill when it comes to tiering events for best girl

managed to get into top 50 once (his greatest achievement)

saves love gems until there’s a set he really likes or if best girl is UR

only has one UR so far and it’s Thief Eli (lol)

tries to optimize his teams but that’s hard when he has no good centers

accidentally clicks on “get you next time!” a lot after score matches usually doesn’t mean it

trying to save up seals to idolize Thief Eli b/c it’s joke at this point

Asahi:

best girl: Hanayo

asked Daichi to scout for him once b/c he was nervous about pulling 1 SR

got him a UR of best girl and now Asahi feels as if he’s in debt to Daichi

is disappointed every time the new UR is not Hanayo who even is Hanayo

present box is at 99+ with most of those being love gems from login and goal rewards

has a whole bunch of support cards because he doesn’t want to use them and then regret it later

trying to save up BTs for the UR box

also trying to save up seals to idolize UR of best girl

only tried one Master song and NOPED out of there because too many notes coming at him at once

hates ladder patterns

internally (and externally) freaks out when he gets 300+ combo and his thumbs end up flying all over the place and he gets a whole bunch of goods and misses

Nishinoya:

best girl: Chika (thinks every girl is great though)

saw Tanaka playing it once and wanted to try it himself because cute girls

liked Dia the most at first because appearance wise she reminded him of Kiyoko

Chika became best girl after he finished watching the anime

goal: get at least one copy of all of Chika’s URs and SSRs

can form an alpaca army with how many alpaca cards he has

his teams are all hybrids of Aqours and μ's because he doesn’t have that many (good) cards

solo yolos way too often and has too many Rs to show for it

wants the Chika nendoroid but can’t afford it

likes to sing along while he plays, which usually messes up his combos

saw that video with the sausages and wants to try it out himself one day

Tanaka:

heard about the game from Yamamoto

downloaded it to try it out, then got dragged into idol hell

got Yukata Mari UR from a scouting ticket and it’s his most precious card now

jokingly sends pics of him feeding Nico Rs/SRs to Mari to Yamamoto just to see his friend’s reaction

plays with thumbs and has improved quite a bit since he first started

started out as a casual player but then got really into the game

knows how to prioritize life before the game but might stay up a bit later than usual sometimes just to play

free to play (for now) and is thinking of dropping a few bucks on the game for the packs

likes Aqours’ songs more than μ's songs though he does struggle with some of the beatmaps on the harder difficulties

plays with thumbs and often freezes up on Master songs

is quite lucky when it comes to scouting and has gotten two copies of Halloween Dia UR so he got to idolize her

listening to Torikoriko PLEASE!! makes him feel more energetic after a tiring day

talks with Yamaguchi a lot about the game because they both love Azalea

Narita:

kept seeing the game on top grossing games on app store and decided to try it out on a whim

didn’t know there was an anime for it until Noya told him (he didn’t know his teammates played the game until he heard Tanaka yelling after getting -400 score match points during an event)

convinced Kinoshita to watch it with him and Rin feelings intensified during season 2

has spent probably too much money on the game but at least he has tri-coloured URs of best girl

decided to check out the game because Narita plays and finds it cute so he continued

logs in daily for the bonuses and to use up his LP on a few songs before going off to deal with life things

became more interested in the game after Noya suggested he watch the anime (which he did with Narita)

got feels during the Start;Dash performance in season 1 and Snow Halation in season 2, and Mijuku DREAMER in Sunshine, and became a bit more invested in the girls

likes Aqours as much as μ's but Ruby is definitely best girl out of all of them

working on SSS’ing all the songs but is having trouble FC’ing some of the songs on EX

has failed quite a few Master songs but always feels a rush of adrenaline whenever he passes and on the two occasions when he managed to FC

has a really strong pure team because somehow he’s managed to get four copies of swimsuit Ruby

Kageyama:

usually forgets to login he has better things to do

plays whenever he’s bored or has nothing to do (esp when he can’t play volleyball)

gets rather competitive with Hinata sometimes and tries to see who is better (they’re both bad at the game)

tried EX once because of Tsukishima’s taunting and failed it almost right away

trying to improve because he doesn’t want to lose but has only recently been able to complete hard songs (what is Mermaid Festa vol 1)

blessed with scorer cards but needs perfect lockers

didn’t pay attention to the tutorial so he doesn’t know about idolizing

usually gets 4th in Score Matches and then he gets mad at the game (-400 points)

actually threw his phone once by accident; luckily landed on his bed

Hinata:

got introduced to the game from Kenma

doesn’t really know what he’s doing with game

plays super casually

doesn’t login ever day

finds a lot of the cards to be pretty but doesn’t bother scouting for them

solo’s whenever he has 5+ gems and feels like it

managed to actually get a few SRs from solo-yolo’ing

likes the songs and listening to the music more than playing the game

the up tempo/faster songs are his favs (Trouble Busters is top tier)

has terrible teams that still consists of unidolized Rs

Yamaguchi tries to help him out but it’s pretty much a lost cause

fell for Tsukishima’s taunting too and failed on EX and while he wants to improve just to prove Tsukki wrong, he rather spend his time doing other things

heard some of the songs from Yamaguchi playing the game and thought they didn’t sound half bad

downloaded the game to try after Yamaguchi’s consistent urging

only plays at home in his room

downloaded all some of the songs so he could listen to them when he’s out

not a casual player but isn’t as into the game as Yamaguchi

logs in and plays every day though

can full combo most songs on EX and taunts Kageyama and Hinata about it when he overhears them talking about failing hard songs

has pretty good teams thanks to Yamaguchi helping him with team building

not a big fan of scouting since the few times he did 10+1 scouts, he mainly got SR dupes that were either healers or perfect locks which he didn’t need

has a whole bunch of love gems and scouting tickets hoarded as a result

bought Azalea’s album and plans to buy their other ones in the future too

hums the tunes of the songs sometimes and when he’s alone, likes to sing along

got excited when he heard that Kageyama also likes Hanamaru but was then disappointed because Kageyama doesn’t really play

loves every SR+ card that he gets and is always excited to scout

not even disappointed with 1 SR pulls (usually)

has some pretty good teams in terms of strength and can rank pretty high among his friends during events

mostly free to play but has bought some of the cheap packs for the SR+/SSR+ tickets

probably #1 ranked player among the team, if she had them added as friends in the game (they don’t know she plays and she only has Yachi added)

has pretty bad luck with blue ticket scouts since they’re usually dupes or older cards that don’t fit her team

sells the cards she can’t and won’t use to the sticker shop for seals

Yachi:

loves the game for the cute designs of the cards

plays with thumbs and is mediocre at the game

trying to improve and can full combo most hard songs after a few tries

Kiyoko gives her tips sometimes when she encounters tricky beat maps

enjoys all the songs but Aqours > μ's

Yukata set is best set so far and the game blessed her with SSR Yukata Riko

gets anxious scouting because of that dreaded 1SR pull but gets happy every time she gets an above average pull

blessed with smile cards so her smile team is the strongest (all the dupes she gets goes to skill leveling her cards)

also has enough alpaca cards to raise an army

favourite event is token events since she can play any songs she wants and won’t have to worry about failing

UnOrdinary

HI! This Is a Romance Roleplay. It is set in a future where humanity has been corrupted to be "Equal" Everyone is born into a certain role in society. No one is allowed to be outstanding or creative. There is no famous status or influences, Everyone is set on the same status their entire life. In this time it's not allowed to do anything outside what your role is. People are allowed to still have a normal life as in having friends, going out, etc but they must stick to what they're told to do. Enter the "unordinary" this is the nickname given by those who stepped out of their set roles. Lead by an unknown leader, they are given secret hideouts or as they call it "Clubs" where they can express themselves and their art. It was a rapid success and many more have opened around all the other districts. The President of District 4 (will be explained more but this is where the story takes place) Is being held responsible since the "rebellion" Started in his district. He has spent years trying to find the leader only to fail. One of his final attempts was having her murdered. Although his henchmen failed the leader had to fake her death, and after that things were peaceful, but it didn't last too long. the story takes place half a year after he finds out that the leader is still alive, and he plans to use his son to get information, to finally end it. This idea is still in the works but I know how I want it to go. Looking for a Semi-Literate roleplayer, I'm OK with one-liners, if the story pace is slow but otherwise I try to give at least 5-7 Lines. Thanks! ----- “When did you first have a feeling that what you were born to do wasn’t exactly what you were planned to do?” A reporter asked as she sat at a small round table with another woman. the woman had short white hair and sharp Amber red eyes. She was someone who was a vivid believer in following her dreams and her face showed it as well as her confidence. Then the woman with the white hair began to speak “I was about six years old and my mother was walking me to my daily education lessons at the schoolhouse. And you know when you walk by the stores the holograms pop out at you playing ads they think will grab your attention yet give you a hint that what we as women can do are limited but they think to give us opportunities will keep the peace. Well, this one was an ad saying that women could now be chefs. Now news like that could excite common men or women. but at the time I didn’t know about the Rules then so I was completely confused. I thought you could grow up to be whatever you want like I’ve seen on Tv, but that wasn’t the case. Me being a child I said “Mother! I want to be a music player!” And she looked at me with such a disgusting disappointing expression. I was confused about why. I later found out it’s against the law to speak against what you were born to do. I was shocked. Us as people are born into certain things. You were born to put out fake news. I was born for something more than what they destined me to be, and I want to be a musician. And I am! No one is going to take that away from me. The white-haired woman smiled and the reporter shook her head. she hoped for a more interesting reaction from her. But it irritated her how calm she was “So why are you leading this rebellion? Why is your resistance so important? And what do you have to say to the President?” The reporter pressed for answers and the woman laughed and brushed her fingers through her hair. she wasn't phased by how angry the reporter was trying to make her. “You know what. I was thrown into this leadership position. No one had the guts to express themselves unless they were surrounded by my presence. I guess myself and my confidence helped others. I’ve never been afraid to do what I wanted. And I am. And I can proudly say I am one hundred percent happier than anyone in our four districts. More of us are standing together to fight this new society that has affected the way of life for decades. I’m not afraid of the president. And I never will be. I’m twenty-five years old now. [I] Won’t live forever. The president will eventually find me and end me. And that’s not my concern. My real concern is that people will stop living when I’m gone. I don’t want anyone going back to their old lives.” The reporter was silent for a second. She had to ask one last question. So she sighed softly and smiled. “Can we at least have a name for you?” The reporter asked being a little timid now. she didn't know how well the interview was going and how it would be received, even worse, she couldn't read the interviewee. The white-haired woman shrugged her shoulders and took only a second to come up with a fake name. “Of course. My name is Penelope.“ -Backstory- In this world, controlled by one man for decades, Man and woman are separated, the men are born to do hard labor, and skillful jobs and women are born to do the less skillful yet demanding jobs. But the man who ruled the world was corrupted by his ideals. That everyone should be equal. No one should shine brighter than others, no one should have a better social status than others. There were no famous status people in the world. Everything that was deemed “creative” and could make you stand out was removed. It was a plain and dull world, but people continued to live, and those who had creative outlooks and tried to stand against the society were immediately “removed”. Enter Penelope. At a young age, her mother quickly informed her how the world was. her mother told her to stay in her place, don't try to change anything, and live a quiet life. Penelope, on the other hand, refused to believe that the world was black and white. secretly she was learning how to play guitar and quickly found out she was passionate about it. she played every single day, knowing if she didn't, she would live her boring life. after high school graduation, her mother found out about her secret life and immediately removed herself from Penelope' s life and then come to find out her mother moved to another district. Penelope was heartbroken but she wasn't going to stop doing what she loved. Eventually, she opened the "creative club" a place where others like herself could be themselves without judgment, and it quickly grew, and a few years later, she opened many more secret places for in the other districts as well as she's, she unknowingly became their leader and was happy, the problem was she still had had her daily life, the one she was born to do. and although she dreaded it, she had no choice, she couldn't bring to much attention to her or else the president or anyone else could track her. she would do anything to keep everyone safe and it's what she planned to do. -Present-day- (Y/N) Was the son of the president, along with another brother you had. It was a lot of pressure. You had to be proper and live up to every expectation, but you always fell short to your brother. He seemed to always come up on top and there was just no competing with him. So your father called (Y/N) to his studies. You immediately went and sat in a chair in front of his desk, and he stared you down, the room felt tight but then lightened up as your father smiled. "My son, I have a task for you." He said pretty bluntly. He leaned back opening one if the desk drawers pulling out a huge file. He placed it in front of you and opened it. the first page had a picture of Penelope and all the information they had on her from her appearance to her blood type "She goes by Penelope but we know its not her real name. She is in her Mid-twenties, around your age I believe. We recently just found her bar where she performs and I want you to go tonight and befriend her to get information. I believe you can do this. I know you want redemption and if you can do this, it'll go a long way, not just for us but for mankind. we need to put an end to her defiance. That's all. Look over the papers and tonight befriend her. Don't come back till you have some worthy information" for the last part, he spoke coldly with no emotion. He always showed no remorse. (Y/N) was used to it by now, he was only worried about work and there was nothing you could about. All you could was do what he said. And you got to work studying the paperwork. (Y/N) sat down at the desk inside his capitol quarters. For unspecified reasons, his quarters had been moved off of the main level and into one of the lower levels. He dropped the thick portfolio onto his desk and switched on the lamp. Sighing, his heart racing, he opened the file. *Your career, your reputation, and my respect ride on your success in this task.* His father’s words spoken in his usual hollow, lifeless voice rang through his head. Clipped to the inside of the file were several photos of “Penelope.” Some were grainy surveillance photos and one was a still capture from an interview that she had done with one of the “hack” news agencies that were struggling for viewership. (Y/N) unclipped the photo and studied it more closely under the desk lamp. Penelope’s ability to avoid incarceration made him suspect that she was wearing a disguise. The woman was pretty, in an unconventional way. Her unusual choice of white pixie-cut hairstyle stood out the most. It turned his stomach, seeing someone trying so hard to be UnOrdinary. *Disgusting. Why would anyone try to stand out like this? It’s sacrilege.* Looking more closely, he attempted to discern any tell-tales regarding whether this was her actual hair or a wig. The clarity of the image wasn’t *that* good. - Setting the photos aside, he spent the rest of the day tirelessly going through the rest of the profile on the woman. There wasn’t much to go on, but at least it wasn’t anything. The key information was a list of the bars that she would turn into temporary “creative clubs” for a night of performances. (Y/N) wondered for a few moments where the information had come from before standing. “That’s unimportant for now,” he said aloud. He flipped back to the surveillance photos, some of which had been taken at one of the clubs. He studied them for several minutes before calling in one of his father’s assistants. He would need a cover if he were going to blend it, but he couldn’t be seen purchasing UnOrdinary clothing. His reputation was at stake, after all. A conversation later, and the assistant had gone to the seedy part of town to purchase the clothing, returning a couple of hours later. Once he returned, (Y/N) went about the business of changing his look. He darkened his hair, cut it into one of the more popular styles for the UnOrdinary crowd, changing it enough to look unique, and finally changed out his pale gray suit for the clothing his assistant had purchased. - (Y/N) looked into the mirror and hardly recognized himself. (y/n) looked back from the reflection, wearing dark pants, big heavy boots, a vibrant red shirt, and a black hooded trench coat over the top. Sunglasses finished off the look, sitting atop his spiked hair. Checking the time, he used one of the secret lower entrances to leave the capitol grounds. An assistant dropped him off 7 blocks from the designated bar. (Y/N) crept through an alleyway, coming out on one of the dingy streets that led to the bar. He tried not to let his nerves show as his eyes darted back and forth, certain that someone would spot him and identify him as an impostor, but it seemed like most people were more involved in their own conversations than they were looking for government spies. (Y/N) paid the bar’s cover fee and slipped inside, heart pounding as he was greeted by the loud music. *How could anyone listen to this! It’s just noise!* he thought as he approached the bar, scanning the crowd for that familiar white hair.
